Just call and make a reservation, you will not regret it! Trust me!!! Best food I’ve had in Milwaukee in a long time! Service was top notch and atmosphere was phenomenal. Woman owned business that brings you happiness from the time you walk through the doors. Just trust me and have a meal.

Cavas is absolutely perfect! And so is the team that works there. The Josh and Ana duo surely take pride in their business and make sure their guests have an amazing experience. I don’t think I have ever had such a genuine, caring, fun, and kind experience at a restaurant before. They even called us when we forgot our leftovers (after closing) and said how late they’d be there so we could come and get them- like come on! I’ve never had anyone care enough to do that before. Truly amazing! The ambiance is fantastic. The drinks are delicious. And the food is fresh, beautifully prepared, and will amaze your taste buds more and more with every bite! I will most definitely be back!

Chef Ana and the staff of Cavas are amazing. You feel like family and eat like it too. No better paella in the city (or state, tbh.) Make it an evening, sit down and eat all you can. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely phenomenal. Make a reservation unless you’re going right when they open at 5 which is what we did on a Thursday, and the place was completely full by 6. Everything we ate (ESPECIALLY the empanadas) were amazing and everyone we met was wonderful. Chef Ana is so kind and sweet!

Excellent food and wine suggestions from Ana. She was so kind and gracious. Service was top notch. The space is small, but it added to the vibe. I thought it was amazing they opened during the pandemic and look to be thriving ~ especially since the service industry is desperately in need of workers. I'll definitely be back.

Had the MOST PLEASANT and delicious experience at Cavas the other night. A newer, small place with 5 tables inside and a handful of tables outside, reservations are recommended. Upon entering, you feel like you are transported into Chef Ana's kitchen. We ordered 5 small plates and they were all so delicious- we ate them so fast that I forgot to snap some pictures. I honestly cannot pick my favorite - I would order them all again. The charcuterie board, bacon wrapped dates, pork empanadas, mushroom toast, and flank steak were all to die for. I have nothing the rave things to say about this woman owned business in the third ward. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Was in Milwaukee for an evening to spend some time with friends. Chose to have dinner at Cavas. Made reservations in advance. Dinner was exceptional! Food was so flavorful. Service was great! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our first time at Cavas tonight and a great experience! The staff are so pleasant and the food tastes as good as its presentation. A great addition to the third ward area. We loved Movida before the pandemic and Cavas is a great Spanish restaurant with equally excellent food.

Would give 5 stars if it was a bit larger space; the staff had to squeeze between our table and customers seated at the bar. The duck was done perfectly, the orange sauce could be poured over the duck, didn't overwhelm the duck. The puree potatoes were flavorful. My husband enjoyed the chicken dish which is described as a family recipe. Wish we had this restaurant back home.

Small quaint atmosphere. Beautiful plating, and eclectic. Our server was incredible and the food was even better. The owner Ana was amazing. It was her birthday as was mine. Definitely recommend this place.

AMAZING food, the service was friendly and effervescent. The owner and staff all made us feel like rock stars. Do not miss the empanadas with the homemade chimichurri sauce, its like a party in your mouth and you may end up licking the dish to keep it going. I wish that was a lie, but I'm not embarrassed. The white and red house sangrias were equally scrumptious, have two because life is short. They pair well with the unbelievable desserts, so save room! Who are we kidding, just unbutton your pants and keep eating. It is 100% worth it.

Good food and friendly staff. Every dish was good but, unfortunately, most were lacking the twist to make them memorable. For example the duck was overcooked and the chocolate mousse was hidden under disappointing whipped cream. Best was the stuffed pimiento which was fairly original and perfectly executed. Loud music.

Wonderfully small spot for an upscale dinner or snacks. Spectacular food, specifically the empanadas, but the entrees are no joke themselves. Well worth the money spent and the owner, Anna, is a treat every time I see her. Treat yourselves and enjoy.

I’d give 100 stars if I could! I had the privilege of checking this place out for the first time with some friends last night and was impressed from the moment I stepped through the door. Chef Ana and her staff greet every guest and make the most of every corner of their small space. They’ve created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance, the food, the drinks, the people…let me tell you; IT’S A VIBE. I’ve already dubbed CAVAS my new favorite MKE restaurant & can’t wait for my next visit. The only regret I have is not experiencing this gem sooner.

After going to Cavas, I can't believe that I haven't gone sooner. The place is a gem. I went for an early dinner on a Saturday, called the night before for a reservation, which I had no trouble getting, then called the next day to ask to move up the reservation, which also wasn't a problem. I went with a friend and we ordered the empanadas de choclo (corn) and de cerdo (pork). Both were truly fantastic--the chips and empanada dough were fried so well, the consistency of the dough was great, and the filling/dip was amazing. I could have eaten another order, no problem. Also, there was a random drunk guy who stopped to ask my friend and I where he could buy cigarettes. The chef came out after he left to ask if he was bothering us and to apologize--we were fine, but it was so kind and thoughtful as many restaurant treat sitting outside as "at your own risk." Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Cavas was incredible! My husband surprised me with dinner there for my birthday. The empanadas and paella were incredible! Everything we ate was amazing! Ana (the owner) was so sweet and personable and made the dining experience very special. The plate and silverware and ambience was also super cute! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! We will definitely be back!

Three of us were stranded without a reservation on a Saturday night because an online reservation at another favorite restaurant did not process correctly. We decided to take a peek at Cavas to see if it was filled. It was, but out walked Ana, taking a breather. Typical Ana -- friendly, gracious and accommodating -- she said "Park right here (an illegal space), this is mine!" We sat at the bar because the place was packed, as usual, and had a great time with the staff while enjoying Ana's fabulous creations. This place is such a gem in our Third Ward neighborhood -- like no other!

My partner and I's very favorite restaurant in all of Milwaukee. Not only is the food spectacular, the cava and other drinks are incredible and the service is fabulous and friendly. Chef Ana is so warm, makes everyone feel at home. We were lucky to discover it during its opening week in 2019 and have kept coming since and telling all our friends. We love this place so much that we had our small wedding reception dinner here back in May and it was such a special night. Cavas is truly a gem.

We had an amazing meal when we visited this weekend. The drinks(margaritas & the hugo suave) were so good. We ordered 3 different tapas items to share and each was better than the last. Empanadas were not to be missed!! They also offer these in a take & bake format. Probably pretty awesome in the air fryer! The place is Small, so call to reserve a spot. It was really really good.

Incredibly friendly waitstaff. I wanted a wine flight and even though they don’t offer one, they went out of their way to accommodate us. Chef was very friendly and food was outstanding. The stuffed red pepper was awesome as were the empanadas. Be prepared for a chill atmosphere and a bit of a wait for food, but overall fantastic. Definitely coming back. May be my new favorite restaurant in Milwaukee.

I have never been felt inclined to leave a restaurant review until I had Cavas. The empanadas were the best I’ve had in town and the paella was on par or better than what you would get in Spain. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the ambiance is very warm and inviting. One the best dining experience I have had in my 5 years living in Milwaukee!

Amazing food! We ordered paella, empanadas and papas bravas with chorizo. We opted for take out but after seeing how inviting their space was, next time we'll definitely be taking time to dine in. Plus their drinks sound great too. Staff was very friendly and clearly grateful for the business. We consider ourselves mke foodies and are excited to add this to our regular rotation. We are at Cavas yesterday for the first time and couldn’t be happier with our experience. I have never experienced a head chef show such exceptional hospitality in my entire life. On top of that, the imaginative presentation and hearty paella dishes, the intimate setting, and extremely attentive staff are second to none. Chef Ana personally called me back on a Wednesday night after I attempted to call even though I didn’t leave a message. We invited close friends in a group of 7, and Chef Ana went out of her way to introduce us to her sous chef from Italy to greet our Italian friends. The dining experience was intimate and elegant: everything from the perfect mojitos, incredible charcuterie board of cheeses, Jamón Serrano, white anchovies marmalade enjoyed over warm conversations with friends, Chef Ana and her staff, the succulent paella served in cast iron skillets, and wine pairings and imaginative desserts, we couldn’t be happier that we chose Cavas. We also really appreciated the tasteful decoration, hours of preparation that went into the homemade paella, and exquisite Sangria blend. We truly felt at home and look forward to coming back and continuing to support this truly exceptional local restaurant.

We cannot say enough great things about this amazing hidden gem of a restaurant. The food is outstanding- incredibly presented, prepared and served. Every taste of every plate we have had (and we have had many as well as many repeats) is as if fireworks of amazing flavor explode in your mouth. From the time you walk through the front door Owner/ChefAnna (who is a cooking genius in her own right) greets you with a big smile and an “Hola” and makes everyone feel like she has invited you into her own home and kitchen and connects with you throughout your dining visit. She is a gracious host and she pays attention to every little detail so that you have the very best dining experience possible. She loves what she does and she’s a marvel. We have been to Cavas many times and each experience we feel like we are treated as if we are the only table in the restaurant. Chef Anna and staff are superb! We have taken guests from many cities and states when they come to visit and they cannot wait until their next visit to go back. Definitely 5 stars and more). Cavas was such a great experience. I got the Pato a la naranja (duck and potatoes). This was my first time trying duck and I was not disappointed at all. My food was HOT. Literally fresh out the oven which I appreciated. My good was seasoned well and the duck was juicy and tender. My potatoes were some of the best potatoes I’ve tried. I wish I had a bigger portion size! The service was exceptional as well. I will definitely be back to try some of their other unique dishes.
