This place is absolutely amazing my wife and I came here with some friends a couple weeks ago for breakfast and all of us were blown away with how amazing all of our food was! After we had our first bites none of us said another word until we all were done eating, that's how good this place is! If you are looking for a great spot for breakfast this is it! We will definitely be back to try dinner!

A great Mexican place in an area crowded with many options. Have been here several times but not since pandemic. Thankfully it is still a good experience. Son got vegan tacos which came with a salad. I got ala cart Tilapia taco and chicken taco. My wife got cheese enchiladas. Delicious!

Amazing food. I cannot decide a favorite between the steak tacos, the rice, the chips & salsa and the refried beans! I also had my 21st bday dinner here about a year ago and they gave me a shot of tequila and I got a really good strawberry margarita. I'd wait an hour to dine here it's just that good.

What a great find. So glad to have stumbled upon this as only local downtown options seemed to be commandeering any search results. The service was great, food was made perfectly, and flavors were amazing. We had a soy chorizo breakfast burrito and chilaquiles verde with eggs. The only setback is discovering this place for the last meal in town and not having one near my location. Not to mention not trying the cocktails. Sauces to purchase and take home is a bonus.

The food isn't authentic Mexican but it was still good. I ordered a corazón burger which was great, the meat tasted fresh and the jalapeños were nice and spicy. We also got 3 tacos a la carte one asada which was okay, the carnitas were juicy (my fave out of the three) and my boyfriend loved the cochinita pibil. The tacos come with cilantro, cebolla, cheese, and tomato. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the imagery of Catholic saints being used as decoration. La Virgen de Guadalupe is a sacred image for many Catholic Mexicans and I felt it was inappropriate to use it as decoration. Anyways the food was great and the service was amazing I only took off one star for the saints.

Ordered the tostadas, I'll give them 4 stars. But they had this green hot sauce, that was so good spicy. That and 2 beers at a cost of $23.00. These days that ain't bad. And the service was excellent. I will be back.

Coming from the Mexican food capital of the world, Tucson, AZ let me just say that the food here is on point. I was expecting bland and came away with, " I wonder if anyone back home makes it like this?" Spices were great, heat was great. I really liked everything we had.

I love this place, the food is always excellent. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It's clean and has a nice atmosphere. Gluten free options / I usually get a naked burrito to avoid the tortilla. 10/10 highly recommend.

So we went here for my friends birthday and let me tell you it was simply divine. I had the wet breakfast burrito and my birthday boy got a corazon burrito. Both exceeded our expectations as well as our server Eva who went above and beyond for us. Great place, great food, great memories, I will be here again.

This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. As a religious kitsch collector myself, I absolutely love the ambience. They have a very full menu, but I always end up getting the veggie quesadilla and whatever it is they do to make it is complete magic. It is like heaven made from the most basic ingredients. Try it next time. You’ll be glad you did! The only time I’ve been disappointed is when I order the quesadilla to go. It doesn’t age well in the container so save it for when you have time to get it piping hot & fresh.

Cafe Corazon has such delicious tacos! Loved the double small corn tortilla, and great flavors. So many good vegan (or meat!) options, the tofu had a nice spice. A really stellar side salad & dressing. Also really like that you can get smaller portions (2 tacos & a salad)! Would definitely recommend.

Fun place! My friend and I came here the night before our 10K and we made a fantastic choice. Being from out of town we wanted to have Mexican food and I heard this was a fantastic place! We both had the burrito with Carne Asada & green enchilada sauce and shared chips and guacamole to start. The burrito was stuffed to perfection and the chips and guac were homemade and delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt!

The food was good. I thought the tacos were a bit small, but they tasted great. The black beans had a weird sweetness to them that I didn't care for. If it's a nice day outside, ask to sit in their patio area. It made for a pleasant experience.

Amazing Mexican restaurant in MKE with tons of vegan options. I got the VEGAN chilaquiles rojos and everything was delicious. Also enjoyed a tall cerveza Pacífico and a mezcal margarita. Both amazing! Also, amazing friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back!

Went for brunch on a Saturday a little after noon. They were busy at the time. We were seated within a decent amount of time. We were at the table at least 10 min before the server came over. They were busy it took him a while to get back with our drinks. After that initial wait everything was out quick. The food was good overall. We split the burrito and the empanada plate.

A very popular Mexican restaurant few blocks away from Avalon movie theater they have burritos tacos salads chicken enchiladas and all the type of foods that you can find in Mexican restaurants. The place is big and it has a bar area and the food is delicious. People were friendly when we visited. I would go back.

This is the best restaurant I've eaten at in a long time! They have a great vegan selection! I had the super vegan burrito. My son loved the salmon tostada's, my picky daughter got a huge cheeseburger off of the kids menu and the rest of our party had awesome Mexican classics. We were in from Florida to see our native relatives and we were all impressed! We had to wait a little bit at first but the hostess was very accommodating! Once we were seated our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Thanks guys!

Oops, I ate it ALL. A definite stop while passing through MKE while on tour. Chilaquiles with vegan chorizo is a FAVORITE of mine that I sometimes just want to travel to git some. Margs are FANTASTIC as well..

Cafe Corazon catered our 140 person wedding and did AMAZING. From start to finish, they were organized, professional, and had excellent quality. Despite catering for a big group, the food tasted exactly as good as it would have been in their restaurant. They arrived on time with a big and professional team, immediately taking control of the space and executing our plan. Reasonably priced, and guests couldn't stop talking about how much they loved it! 100% recommend for your catering!!

Service has always been great at Cafe Corazon. The first time I came here they put the wrong meat in my enchiladas (it must have been someone else's dinner), but they remade it for me right away. The enchiladas were really average, they seemed to lack spices and cheese. The second time time I ate here I ordered the wet burrito and it lacked meat. Overall both experiences were pretty mediocre. I would like to see chimichanga on the menu.

I have had excellent food and service here every time I've come in! The prices are extremely reasonable and I always get two meals out of a burrito. They are also extremely accommodating of food and diet restrictions, just tell them what you need! Cocktails/margs are delicious, decor is fun. A great Bay View stop overall. Pictured is "The Best Burrito" if you don't know what to order, this is an incredible choice.

I was in Milwaukee for a day, touring the place during summer'18.. after visit Harley Davidson museum, headed to Cafe corazon for late lunch. This place was suggested by a lady at the museum. Ordered a burrito here . It was delicious and too good.. Definitely was full after finishing it. Stuffing, flavor and quantity was definitely satisfying. Staff at the restaurant were humble too. It is a pleasant place. I enjoyed my time spent at this Cafe.

This was our first time at this location, though we've been to the Riverwest cafe. I think this location feels more spacious, and I love the Bayview area. With the food, you can't go wrong at either place! I love the vegetarian and vegan options. In summary: flavorful food, casual and comfortable ambience, and good service.

Man oh MAN where do I begin? This place is adorable and funky with touches of authentic flair. We got seated immediately and chose this place based on a dedicated vegan menu. The salsas that came with the chips were so uniquely delicious and they're not kidding around with the best vegan burrito. I'm not in Milwaukee often, but will make this a must-go whenever I'm in the area. Service was great as well!!

Definitely a contender in the pretty contentious Bay View Mexican food market. Their in-house green hot sauce is good enough to buy by the bottle (which I do). I liked their approach to minimizing server exposure by utilizing little paper order sheets. Good choice for takeout too. Lots of varieties of margaritas if you're into that sorta thing. Probably better for dietary restrictions than most or all other Mexican restaurants in the area.

Not only was the food delicious but the service was perfect! We talked to two different servers and they were both wonderful, kind, and helpful (with great senses of humor). I had the breakfast quesadilla with carnitas and was pleasantly surprised that it had avocado along with the pork, cheese, and scrambled eggs. I really enjoyed the artwork inside too!

The atmosphere in the main bar is pleasant and the music selection fitting. That said, I've been here more often in the afternoon hours and some evenings. As a tavern/bar I've had a few pleasant conversations with strangers, and the drinks are potent. Margaritas are house-made, strawberry is my favorite. As a restaurant the food is huge... for the cost. I'm torn between loving the Wet Burrito and the "Best Burrito". Enchiladas delicious, as well. Shame though the desert menu is small. Though... the food here has made me think of ordering again for later. ^\\\^

We were not impressed with the food here. It was just okay. I ordered the asada taco truck tacos. The corn tortillas are the smallest I've ever seen. The meat was bland and not tender. And there was twice the amount as would be needed to fill such tiny tortillas. I had to eat more than half the filing before I could pick them up and eat them. The black beans I had on the side tasted like they came straight out of a can and sprinkled with a tiny amount of sugar. The salsa also had a strange sweetness to it that was very odd. Schuyler-- Our server was adequate. When my friend asked for a side of sour cream it took more than half our meal for that to be delivered and when it arrived it was so warm it was the consistency of ranch dressing. I must add that we had planned to go a few weeks earlier and our plans fell through. But that day I called to make reservations and was told that you don't take reservations, but that if we call ahead, our name could be put on the list so we'd have a shorter wait time. When I called last night to do just that, I was told that whoever had told me that was wrong. Small detail, but it stands out. We did not order any craft cocktails.

I've been going to this place for roughly 6 years and it never disappoints! My recent visit, me and my fiance went for lunch on a Monday and were immediately greeted with a friendly, welcoming vibe from the bartender! The service was just absolutely wonderful, super friendly and so helpful. The food too of course was delicious~love their soy chorizo! Had to come write a review after this last visit because both me and my fiance were just so happy with our service! Also, I ordered the chilaquiles for the first time and the portion was huge (for me at least, it was enough for 3 meals!). I would recommend this place 1000x over💜

This is my coffeeshop, in my neighborhood, that I walk to two or three times a week. It is cozy and friendly and there is nothing here that isn't absolutely delicious. Need a tip? I'm a spicy Mayan guy with oat milk no whip, hot or cold.

We were a bit apprehensive because of how the menu would lead you to dismiss this place for not being 100% authentic. HOWEVER, no detail is left out and everything we ordered was excellent; all the way down to the beans that were a side dish. I would highly recommend the pork pibil as a choice of meat in whichever dish you choose. These guys definitely take what comes out of their kitchen seriously and it shows.

Wow did Café Corazón go above and beyond! I’ll tell you what- this place rivals some of the top tier Mexican restaurants in the area and I will definitely be coming back. Everything was amazing and I really enjoyed the quesadilla (added salsa) to start. The $2 taco Tuesday special goes above and beyond their competition. Truly a unique place with a friendly staff. Really good food in generous quantities. I had the chicken empanadas and they were great! Good atmosphere and friendly wait staff. They also have a good range of hot sauces from mild to peel the paint off the walls. We went there with visiting family at their suggestion and I'm glad we went - we will be going again soon. Prices were good too, most dishes were in the $10-$13 range, and you really do get your money's worth.

I've been here more than I can count now, and I've never once had a bad experience. The food is always so good!! Never had a bad waiter/waitress, as well as margaritas! They definitely don't short you on the tequila on their margaritas here!!!! While the food, service, and staff are all exceptional, it's the atmosphere that is always the greatest!! Good Mexican fare you should definitely check this place out. Even if you're dining alone or looking for a couple drinks at the bar!

It all started out with perfectly thin, crispy, well seasoned chips and only got better from there with a plethora of vegetarian options. We got the wet breakfast burrito with soy chorizo and chilaquiles with the herb tofu. Everything was so well prepared and our server was so conscious of our vegetarian requests. The waiters were enthusiastic and helpful. I enjoyed the decor, it is interesting and unique. My stuffed pepper dish was tasty, however I would prefer the peppers to not be charred. I'm guessing it was the cooking style. The pepper was a little undercooked and as I had already mentioned, it would be better to have the burned areas of the pepper peeled off or prepared in a different way. I appreciated the vegetarian and vegan options. My family members all enjoyed their meals.

Sadly, it’s hard to critique a place that was flawless. The food is to die for. The service was on top of their game. I went there on the first nice day of Spring and the patio was a nice area to be seated. The inside seating was decorated well. I tried a seafood burrito there. Normally, I stick to what I know, but I went for something new. It was worth it! I can’t wait to go back there with my family and friends.

The food here is delicious. I got enchiladas with a side of chips and queso to go. I deducted one star because it took an extra 10 minutes to get my to go order and the queso was definitely velveeta based. For sure it's better when dining in but solid option for take out too.

Excellent Burritos. This would be a good option for any vegetarian and vegan friends, since there's a decent number of options. I personally love the best burrito, perfect mix of things and I like having two different kinds of sauce. Be forewarned, the wait can get long here, but it's well worth sticking out the line.

I've eaten at both locations and my experience was the same at both. Fun atmosphere and super friendly and helpful staff but the food and drink is mediocre at best. This is definitely not authentic mexican food, I think the guacamole comes in a bag and I swear they add taco seasoning to it. The atmosphere is really fun and comfy in both locations just don't expect much in the way of fresh and authentic food.

Nice setting! Excellent food! I ordered Enchiladas (1 Pork 1 Beef) with Black Beans. Wife ordered a Burrito no Tortilla it came in a bowl. Me a Negra Modelo beer, her a Strawberry Margarita. We had this Absolutely wonderful desert! I don't know the name. It was cake, VERY moist literally with whipped cream covered with coconut. Our waitress (Carmen) was very helpful in explaining menu items and presented a happy, courteous and attentive attitude. My wife said it was the best Mexican food she had ever had and wants to go there again. Total bill was $50 + tip which we consider reasonable.

Very impressed by the meal tonight, and the safety precautions. We LOVED our food and will absolutely be back. Everyone who helped us respected the safety precautions in place but were also very friendly and responsive to our questions at the same time. Would recommend to friends all day long. I always get their enchiladas, and they are great. I would appreciate it if they increased the amount of rice and beans on the side. Last time it seemed like I barely had any rice. Sometimes the waiters forget about the drinks, but that has happened once. One night they had live music which I thought was lovely, it really amped up the ambiance. The tables and chairs are pretty basic, nothing too nice or lavish. The employees were friendly. Sometimes it takes a while for your meal to come out (but that really depends on how busy it is, which it typically is).

I went here before I started a diet for the next month. To my pleasant surprise they had a jazz band playing. The food and service were top-notch as well. I was able to enjoy a great meal, awesome music and a few drinks before clean living for the next month. This was my first visit and it's for sure will not be my last.

I’ve heard good things about Café Corazon so I was looking forward to checking it out. 4-5 stars for the food, and sadly 2 stars for the service. When we came in, the restaurant was almost empty as it was between dinner and lunch. The food was delicious – we tried the salmon burrito and the enchiladas with mechada (pulled beef). The chips and salsa were great. However, when eating spicy food…it’s expected patrons would be drinking a fair amount of water. We each had a separate beverage, but our server almost ignored us after our food was dropped off. At one point we finally needed to flag them down to ask for a refill on water. When they returned and filled one glass, they disappeared almost immediately, leaving the other three glasses empty. I would return for the food and hope for a better experience service-wise, but it was definitely disappointing.

This tends to be a brunch place of choice for the wife and I. We appreciate the service, the portions, and the quality of the food. I can't say that I've ever had anything less than a great meal here. I ding one star because there seems to be a trend in this location for the loudest, most obnoxious patrons to gather on Sunday mornings and LOUDLY discuss their sexual exploits or how hammered they got the night before.

The entrees are tasty (I would categorize the food as "gourmet mexican"), but I think their salsas leave a lot to be desired - I found them somewhat bland (the red simply tasted like tomato paste and the green didn't have much flavor other than being spicy), which is sad, because I would probably come more often if I enjoyed the salsa. That being said, most of their food stands on its own without needing salsa: the tacos are good, and I would definitely recommend trying the salmon burrito! Service is also quite fast, so this is a good spot if you want to sit down for a meal but don't have lots of time.

One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. Terrific Mexican fare, some of the best margaritas I've ever had (especially the jalapeno). We look forward to this place for sure. We had "naked" burritos. It's a tortilla less burrito. Everything comes in one oblong bowl instead beans rice and burrito guts. LOL AND easily enough for two meals. It was busy, so the noise was average. There's even a patio, but the wait is 20 minutes more for patio seating. And I was hangry. So no on the waiting. For drinks we had their a jar of margaritas, JARGARITAS and they don't use the premixed stuff, so no headaches from sugar rushes.

I used to live in the BayView area, but moved out, right when Cafe Corazon came about, so except for a brief stop some years back, I hadn't returned. A friend and I stopped in for dinner last night, and really enjoyed our time at the Cafe. To be fair, we only ordered appetizers, in the form of Nachos and a Quesadilla, and both were solid mexican fare. With that said, it'd likely be fairer to judge the quality of their food, by ordering actual meals. But whatever, I'm not here to judge. Oh wait, I guess that is why I'm here. Along w/ the quality appetizers, the staff was extremely nice, and a manager even stopped by, to ensure that our beers hadn't run out. While we stuck to the hops last night, the bebida menu did look enticing, and likely requires a return visit. I must admit that the decor was a bit odd, as our table was surrounded by pictures of Jesus, and the rest of his family. I mean, I'm not here to tell anyone how to practice their faith, but I did feel guilty swearing in front of such company. I hope it's not held against me, some day. Regardless, the atmosphere was great, and it appeared that the Monday crowd was enjoying their time w/ friends and family. All in all, Cafe Corazon in Bay View, was a great way to spend a night. We'll have to come back, at some point, to try something else on the menu. It's very likely that a Corazon Margarita would have been the tipping point, between 5 stars, and 6. Clear eyes, full corazon, can't lose...

And a naked wet burrito, which was good but didn't have a shell/wrap. Next time I'd try something else, but it was good. Be sure to ask what things are if you can't handle spicy foods! I used to dine at the RW location, and take out tacos a lot. Love the chicken tacos. Went to the BV location with a friend for brunch recently. The location is nice and big. We sat inside on a nice day and it did not feel crowded at all. Bloody Mary was on point, came with a beer chaser. Very much enjoyed the chilaquiles, with green sauce. One of my very favorite brunch dishes. Very good at Cafe Corazon. I'll continue to eat here, for sure!

Cafe Corazon Bayview - great experience on a sunday night, early dinner with live music. The cheese quesadilla was grilled and melted perfectly, and for the chewy yummy cheese it had to be. Girlfriend had the Best Burrito - very good, flavors built nicely, and really big! Not overly spicy, creamy beans with rice, nicely cooked and flavored pork. I had the seafood trio burrito because I was curious about how the salmon worked in it - it worked! Great combo and excellent complimentary greens for seafood. BONUS: live music from Sunkin Suns, sweet jazz trio tonight. So glad we came and will be back!

Although the service was horrible, and waited at the table for 10 minutes before someone even came up to us. Then once they took our order we waited over 25 minutes for our food, the wait turned out to be worth it. The food was absolutely amazing. I am only rating this place so high because the food was the best Mexican food I had in a while. But note for the servers. They need to be more attentive and not stand by the bar talking to one another.

Have long been a fan of the RW location, and grateful for the BV location to have opened just as we moved to the neighborhood. Finally making a point to leave a review after an excellent experience. We were a large group looking for a place to gather for Saturday brunch. After making a few phone calls on the Thursday before hand, Corazon Bay View stood out as our best option. They were inviting and accommodating both on the phone and upon arrival. Our food came out fast and delicious. And overall we had a great time. I want Mexican food that comes from an interesting angle and Corazon succeeds.The wet burrito is orgasmic and the margs hit the spot. One of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee, probably my favorite in the Bay View neighborhood. The ceviche is a tasty app to share for 3-4 people. I always get the guacamole and chips. The salsa verde has some nice kick to compliment it. Always get a margarita, I usually do salt. It’s a fairly basic menus, but it all tastes f*#ng great! Only negative is it will get really loud if it fills up on the weekend. Otherwise, great lunch, brunch, and dinner spot.
