Just moved into the neighborhood and we went to the cafe to check out breakfast today. Super chill vibe was very welcoming and the menu selections suited us very well. We both very much enjoyed our choices and sat at the window with nice cups of coffee to accompany our meals. So happy there is a place like this we can walk to. Looking forward to going back soon to try out the smoothies. Highly recommend!

Sunday brunch-ordered small loaded nachos and side salad. I had take out and requested nachos deconstructed, do I added it together when I got home food was still warm and oh so delicious. The small nachos is very filling, saved the side salad for later. Will be back!! However, will call ahead for take out-place is very popular!!!

I've had vegan food all over the world, and Beerline is definitely in my top ten. So many options that it's hard to choose. We tried the vegan BLATz sandwich, the Spartichoke crepe, and the hash brown Benedict. All were delightful, I particularly loved the carrot "bacon" and the tofu "ham." Also the decor and plant ceiling make for a cool environment. Prices are surprisingly low given the high quality of the food and the cost of dining out these days. Don't live in the area but hope to come try some more sometime!

Great example of how simple but well prepared food is delicious. I have Celiac and need gluten free food. They have a separate prep area to make safe gf crepes. The food was great, I felt safe eating there, and I'm definitely going back.

Known for their crepes. I enjoyed the lemon blueberry poppy crepe and mexicam breakfast crepe. also has the best coffee. Cute atmosphere and really kind employees/owner. Enjoy coming here when I visit MKE. Everythg can be made vegan which is so important to me, thank U!

Absolutely LOVED this restaurant! We came from Chicago for the Hella Mega Tour, so we were delighted by how affordable this vegan restaurant is compared to the ones in Chicago. They didn’t have the sparkling wine for mimosas, but that’s ok, it forced me to go with my healthier choice of carrot juice. Everything was very yummy, filling & affordable. 10/10 would go again & recommend. Please be respectful of the business & go inside wearing your masks (they’ll ask you to put one on, so save everyone’s time & breath). Outdoor seating available, no indoor.

For transparency and perspective: WE ARE NOT VEGETARIAN. But that did NOT stop us from enjoying the amazing food! They know how to handle meat free and do not skimp on portion or flavor. Price is also very good for the quality and quantity of food. Also- great coffee! Seriously wonderful!

This is my new favorite breakfast/brunch place in Milwaukee! Everything was super tasty, and they're very accommodating to making plates vegan. I got the Crepe Ape, and it was a delicious sweet crepe with some bananas and berries to make it not overly decadent.

What a great spot! Looks like no dine in right now but they have a spacious patio with umbrellas. I'm going to be talking about this chickpea chorizo for months!! It was absolutely delicious. Also got a side of chips & salsa which was crazy hot so beware if you are sensitive to spicy foods 🥵

Beerline is my favorite spot in Milwaukee for vegan food and drinks! The owners are kind and thoughtful, asking if you need eco-friendly flatware instead of automatically including it. The company is extremely eco-conscious and all of their takeaway packaging is compostable. I absolutely love the food and service, I highly recommend!

So many restaurants have raised prices and dropped quality. Beerline has NOT. They've continued to offer innovative specials that taste fantastical. We love you, Beerline! Original review: Absolutely love it here. A favorite in the Milwaukee area. Been following this place since they opened. The vegan food is extremely high quality and innovative. The space is beautiful, complete with a live plant wall. Specials change daily. Frequent menu updates. My favorite are the crepes! Also love their smoothies. They participate in a local program called small shops united which rewards customers with perks like a free entree after so many orders. I only wish they had longer business hours!

I apologize if I didn't offer specifics as my food experience may not be the same for someone else. Just because my truffle fries were all cut into different shapes the 1st time there doesn't mean they won't be properly cut and cooked for someone else! Bt since you couldn't help but to reply, there you have it! My tacos were delicious a little heavy on some seasonings, not salty though. Overall I would have returned, but there are other vegan spots definitely worth trying as well. Hope this helps!

let me start this off by saying i really enjoyed my experience here! everybody i interacted with was very polite and the atmosphere is pleasant. the food also came out pretty quickly compared to what i’d expect. this cafe is very allergen friendly and will make sure that you aren’t eating anything you have trouble with! i have never had a savory crepe before, so i ordered the mexican breakfast crepe as the chickpea chorizo and tofu scramble interested me. i found that i really enjoyed this dish, with a good balance of flavor and not too much spice! there wasn’t an over abundance of dough or cheese like might be expected, and i was very impressed by my order. the ethiopian lentil wrap was much spicier, which is something to keep in mind if ordering; however, the sauce created a nice balance and kept anything from being overpowering. the beerline mac was delicious! i haven’t had mac n cheese in such a long time and it was more flavorful and correctly-textured than i anticipated. overall, i would recommend all of the above dishes as well as taking the time to stop in and get a bite to eat here!

Fantastic, easy to take things out of the items on the menu. Gluten free exclusive if need be. Divine vegan sauces. The crepes were glorious, the tofu scramble with mushrooms was so tasty, and the vegan Mac and cheese with the pesto was amazing. Will definitely be back. Definitely worth the prices.

Visited for the first time with my husband, enjoyed the food and the experience. From the look of the menu anything can be made vegan. We had the nachos, Mac and cheese, and burger. It also looked like they offered a variety of teas and smoothie options. You've got to order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it's ready. No off street parking that I saw. Would definitely recommend.

Hands down the best breakfast crepe I can remember eating in life and something different than all these carbon copy plant based places :) The crepe consistency and the timing of the removal from the heat would make a Parisian cry tears of joy! Add a savory tofu scramble, with perfectly roasted rosemary potatoes, scallions, vegan cheese, maple tempeh bacon, all the right spices, and my hollandaise sauce adder just because.... and we are reaching stages of brunch Nirvana!!! The mushroom barley burger was just phenomenal. The flavors of the herb focaccia, portobello, sprouts, and vegan mayo together was delicious - one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. A must for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone who likes wholesome and delicious food!

If you are a chai lover you MUST try their dirty chai pancakes. Unfortunately this is only a special they have as of right now, but definitely should be a permanent menu item. I don’t know if I can ever eat a normal pancake again after having these. Even if chai isn’t your typical caffeine choice, and you just want the espresso sauce topping… OMG! Do it and order one for later while your at it.

I can tell this place stays busy. My family came here because they had gluten free options for my husband who is sensitive and dairy free for myself. We ordered some crepes, pancakes, Mac and cheese, a mushroom philly cheese, and they were all delicious! It took a little longer than they told us but it was worth it. Fantastic food. I can comfortably eat here as a vegetarian without worry of cross-contamination and not have to substitute anything (except sometimes cheese, but they are very accommodating to dairy-free/other allergies and have amazing vegan cheeses). The staff is friendly, prompt and I have enjoyed every meal. My favorite dishes are the hash brown benedict and the BLATZ - although it seemed different the last time I had it? The interior is charming and comfortable, with high ceilings draped with ivy and local art hanging on the walls. There are several tables indoor and out, as well as a counter with stools. I do wish the extended hours would come back, but am happy Saturdays are open late. It's one of my favorite places to eat and I highly recommend it for any time of day.

I am normally a meat eater but my son prefers the vegetable way. This place is wonderful for both of us. I got the hash brown benedict and loved it. The wife got the Buddha bowl and my son got the mushroom barley burger. They were all wonderful and I would go back there again and try something new. Staff is also very helpful.

We were thrilled to find a vegan restaurant that was new to us and the Beerline Care did not disappoint. The food was delicious! The have a varied menu so it is hard to choose. The staff is terrific. We were able to eat outside, which was lovely. The service was a little slow (you order at the counter and there was a linewe are not the only ones who like this place. I forgot to order a couple of items so had to get back into the line) but the staff is so terrific, the setting so relaxing that it really wasn't a problem. We will definitely go back there next time we are in Milwaukee.

One of the best places to get vegan/vegetarian food in Milwaukee! Their use of herbs & spices puts them well above the rest. This sunny and modern space has very strong, eclectic vegetarian and vegan offerings. They really have it all from mock tuna to, nachos, crepes and a bunch of breakfast items and desserts. Full espresso bar. Two bathrooms self service water station, plenty of hot sauce and a pleasant patio out front That is all a few steps away from Milwaukee's riverfront. What more could you really ask for?

Best food and best staff! The owner, Michael, is very nice and always there. A smiley staff is always willing to make the best recommendations and seem to have fresh delicious NEW menu items all the time. It's a rarity to find a restaurant that you have NEVER had even one bad meal at. Beerline is a staple for our house. Michael also periodically donates to our non-profit farm sanctuary, and allows us to have a donation bin up by the register. It's people like him and his staff that make vegan food so fun exciting:)

My experience at Beerline was amazing! I got the Mexican crepes with scrambled eggs & the rosemary & garlic potatoes. Both were super delicious but the crepe was outstanding! I usually am not a fan of meat replacements, but the chickpea chorizo was to die for!!! The staff was super helpful and attentive, service was fast, and the atmosphere is cute too. I will certainly be returning!

Before the pandemic, I'd been to this restaurant many times and really enjoyed it. This visit did not stand up to my memories, however. The good: Parking and finding a shaded outdoor table was fairly easy for noon on a Thursday and the bathroom was very clean. There was no line to order and the employee taking my order was nice. Our food and drinks arrived quickly. The bad: There isn't a kid's menu anymore, so I just ordered a large (vegan) Mac n cheese and strawberry lemonade for my two kids to share. The MnC was declared cold, gross and spicy by my kids and, while I disagreed with the spicy comment, it wasn't good. The strawberry lemonade was... orange, chunky, spicy, and did Not taste like strawberries or lemonade. Neither the kids nor I could drink it. I ordered the (vegan) Blatz sandwich and a cold chai. My chai was watery but acceptable. The vegan bacon on my Blatz tasted odd and was too thick, but overall the sandwich was just ok. Finally, I got the kids an Eastside Ovens banana chocolate chip cupcake from the display case to share. They ate the frosting, but spit out the base, so I tried it. The cupcake was partly raw inside! Outside the frosting, it was inedible. Overall, I'm super disappointed. It was a waste of money, time, and we left with empty kids bellies I had to fill elsewhere. Frankly, this visit was bad enough I'm not sure I'll ever go back; which is a shame because this used to be a fantastic place to eat.

I developed multiple food intolerances a few years ago and have had a hard time finding places that are safe for me to eat that I like. Beerline is by far my favorite place I've ever been to!! They have so many things I can eat and all of them are delicious. Theres new things to try all the time and they are great when I need to swap or leave things out due to my dietary needs. I've never been disappointed. So glad the inside is back open to see the artwork as well. Such a great Milwaukee space. Great for gluten free, dairy free and vegan options.

Great food at a very reasonable price. I didn't understand when I came in that it was counter service only. Maybe I am slow, but I could've used some signage or something. You have to get your own utensils and napkins as well. They are not brought with your food. Other than that, loved it.

Crepes and other food is very good. Seating arrangement is not. If you have a group any larger than two be aware that if it is even slightly busy you may need to wait quite a while to sit down. I wish they had a better more traditional system so that you could be guaranteed a seat or atleast a wait time.

Such a cute, quant spot with a wonderful vegan menu! I loved all of the gluten free options and that for the most part, there was no upcharge for choosing gf. I can’t wait until Beerline reopens, because I have been craving the lemon blueberry gf crepes 😋. The prices are also great. I took my friend out for brunch here and paid less than $20 for the two of us!

So many delicious options!! My vegan paradise. Also can have anything made with meat and dairy. Currently no indoor seating and limited outdoor seating, it gets a little busy on the weekends but so worth waiting for a table and enjoying a reasonably priced, flavorful, healthy breakfast/brunch in the sun. The description said vegan/vegetarian options. I didn't realize that meant it was strictly veg. The crepe wasn't as light as I have had but the flavor was good. I had restaurant envy because my companion's crepe had much more fruit and Nutella than mine. 😭 If you like pecans, though, it was covered!

When I went here last week they had outdoor seating. There were some chairs inside but it looked like they were for the purpose of waiting for carry out. The menu is really diverse and vegan friendly. The cafe late was soo good. I had the harissa lentil burrito and it was spicy and delicious.

Wonderful selection of vegan options and friendly service. We went here for dinner one night and breakfast the next morning because it was so good. I recommend getting both a savory and a sweet crepe for breakfast.

New favorite vegan/vegetarian spot in MKE. Took my omnivorous family there and they absolutely loved it. If all vegan/vegetarian restaurants were like this, there would be no reason to eat meat at restaurants. Simple as that. The food is delicious (brunch, dinner, anything), the prices are a bit high for some things like the fresh juice (to be expected for the quality), but very reasonable for everything else. The environmental considerations like compost, paper straws and takeout containers, etc. are the cherry on top. Keep doing what y'all do!

I used to think that restaurant food was one of those pick 2 scenarios; healthy, delicious, or cheap. Beerline SHATTERED this belief for me. The food is crazy thoughtful, largely vegan and health conscious, absolutely delicious, and somehow affordable? Being in the restaurant industry for over a decade, including owning a few of my own, it’s shocking to me that Beerline Cafe can pull off what they’re doing. Eat here often.

Beerline is my favorite vegetarian restaurant in Milwaukee. They make ordering vegan items especially easy, and I have never had an issue with receiving food that was not vegan. Every scramble, crepe, and sandwich I have eaten there was outstanding. I don’t go out to restaurants often, I prefer to cook at home, but I can’t wait to go back to Beerline.

I love the community seating setting, encourages you to sit and meet with new people. I love the casual, order at the counter set up. My favorite dishes have been their crepes and their mushroom french dip sandwich. Always easy to find parking around this little area of town. Their food always seems very fresh and healthy.

Recently they charged my friend with an accidental withdrawal they thought did not go through during the ordering process. I have been here about 6 different times. I went every few weeks after they first opened and a few years later I went not to long ago. In the beginning after ordering it would take a while before receiving your food. But the last time I went in there in June 2019 it was really busy inside and in my mind I thought we would be waiting a while but we got out food fairly quickly an it was consistent from what I remember. I am not a vegan or vegetarian but I have tried allot places that have vegan or vegetarian breakfast dishes and Beerline Cafe does it better than anyone else in Milwaukee for a restaurant. I mean I was absolutely shocked that the chorizo and eggs had no sausage and I couldn't even tell the difference because the seasoning was on par. It's a bit on the pricy side and wait times before receiving your food have greatly improved since this place opened. It's a clean restaurant and the kitchen looks clean. Everyone seems to be really happy and the staff smiles. It's a cool place with plants hanging on the walls. I definitely will come back for more food and I would recommend this place for anyone who wants an all day breakfast.

This I my husband and my go-to spot for eating out. We live about 45 minutes away and it's the only place we've discovered since moving to Wisconsin that tastes great and that we're willing to pay for. The food is fantastic and I haven't been disappointed with anything I've ordered so far. His favorite is the Ethiopian lentil wrap and I usually get the chickpea chorizo crepe. They have gluten-free and vegan options which is great. You can bring your dog in the outdoor area too. It's well worth the drive. I would give it 10 stars of I could.

We each had a smoothie (I tried the strawberry banana orange and friend loved mango turmeric ginger). The food is delicious and I love that there are so many vegan options - one of the few places with such variety downtown. However, the customer service is sub-par and the prices are pushing it ($1.25 to add avocado?!). I normally look past the price for quality, filling, fresh vegan food, but the negative experiences I've had with staff on multiple occasions have turned me off from visiting Beerline again. I gave it one more try today, and unfortunately had the same experience. It's a shame.

Great atmosphere, and the cinnamon role pancakes were insanely good, as was the crepe I had. Edit: Been there numerous times now and this is the best breakfast place in the world. I don't know that anything exists that tastes better than the cinnamon role pancakes. If you don't get them I feel sorry for you. I do eat other things on the menu too, in fact I've tried most of it, and its all delicious. Their crepes are to die for. I wish I lived in Milwaukee, but I make sure to come here every time I'm there. The only con is that they're closed on Mondays.

We almost always go for breakfast, but did so enjoy their Vegan Valentine's dinner this year. Food was great! Shared tables were very pleasant, and Staff changed things up a bit with table service. Love this place because the food is so good and vegetarian/vegan! Wish I could go more often but since I finished school my trips downtown are limited. I do still go there and drive to get something to eat and it is a 45 miniute drive round trip. My favorites include the Mushroom barley burger (without the sprouts), chickpea chorizo tacos ( has no chorizo) and the portobello mushroom cheese-steak. The portobello mushroom cheese-steak should be renamed to portobello mushroom philly. I almost didn't get it because I thought it actually had steak in it! Same for the tacos.

Beautiful interior, but the food was very mediocre. We ordered the Korean BBQ Jackfruit tacos and the Beerline Mac. The Mac was okay -- not really "cheesy" (I'm an ex-vegan so I have tasted very good vegan cheese) and the jackfruit was too salty. I did enjoy the fusion of ginger and avocado in the side guac though. May give it another try with their crepes next time... I appreciate their eco-friendly operations! They compost :)

Unique atmosphere, historic location, sustainable practices, and truly incredible food come together here for Milwaukee's best place for vegetarian and vegan food. Their menu is crazy long and honestly overwhelming for vegans used to looking at entire menus of no options. I've tried a great variety of dishes, from nacho cheese to baked goods to crepes to mac n cheese to soup to salad and I have never been dissapointed. They also serve some damn good coffee , beer and select cocktails. What really makes them outstanding is their connection to the surrounding community. Their beers are locally brewed, baked goods come from a local baker, and they support community partners in nearly every aspect, from Biker Rewards to recycling and compost incentives. If I could give them 10/5 I would!

Really good food. We had the Maple pecan granola with almond milk. Two orders of rosemary garlic potatoes, roasted asparagus, Ethiopian lentil wrap with avocado, cranberry orange scone, strawberry turmeric lemonade, kombucha and River West brown larger. Everything's was excellent except the scone, which I believe is made by another company. The potatoes could have used a bit more seasoning. The whole menu is vegan and vegetarian. The decor is super nice and unique. The place was well lit, clean and has WiFi. The staff is just as excellent as the food.

It's a great place to eat! Parking can be tough if one has never been to the area, but as it's rather at the end of a triangle lot, a car can be parked on either side. Take care to look up when you walk in to enjoy the plant wall above. The menu is expansive and breakfast is served all day. Thus far I've enjoyed the Mighty Mint with added pea protein, the Strawberry (vegan) cream cheese crepe, and the Banana Walnut pancakes with vegan batter. It's now on my agenda to eat there every time I'm in Milwaukee. As an added bonus, they also have a recycle bin & a compost bin, along with a garbage. Sustainable and delicious fare with friendly service.

Had a great experience eating dinner there today. As we walked through the quaint outdoor patio and entered the front door we were greeted with a smile and hello from a woman at the counter. I was impressed by the wall of plants as I walked in which made me feel like I was in an arboretum. The menu was packed with options from breakfast crepes to dinner "sammies" and every kind of fresh beverage you can think of. I ordered the Ethiopian wrap and a kambucha made in Madison. The food came out in about 5 mins and was arranged neatly. My wrap tasted fresh, spicy, and at the same time made me feel like I wasn't killing my body with something unhealthy. All in all a great experience. I'll definitely be back for seconds.
