Reviews of Sarino
Gamaliel Cardona
Sorry for the long review, but I'll like to explain why only 3 stars. The food is okay, but not a memorable one. If it was cheaper, maybe that wasn't an issue. Because you expect that the more expensive a place is, food quality and taste is going to be out of this world, and sadly, it didn't. I've been to other Italian restaurants in Louisville that have the same, higher or lower price range and the food quality is amazing. Unfortunately, this restaurant, for the price, did not do its purpose. The only thing that was excellent was their tiramisu dessert and the kid's meal. Other than that, not a memorable place to visit. I might give it another chance and try something different. Their sangria is not even delicious, like you cannot fail with a sangria.

Wonderful dining experience. Don’t forget to make Reservations because you may be turned away if there’s no seating However I have gone before and they permit me to enter. Very tasty and visually appealing!

I’ve only ever driven by the restaurant so I booked a reservation online based on the appearance. Definitely not as fancy as we thought it was, but it was a nice little restaurant with a more dining focused experience and some sports/tv focused seating. We came late to our reservation and we appreciated them accommodating to us and still getting us in!
The food was good, but not amazing, service was excellent, we were in and out very quickly. We ordered a cannoli for dessert and that, of course, was delicious! If the prices were a bit lower we’d probably come here more often.

We had Julie tonight, made our reservation ahead of time through Google. Very nice little restaurant, dining room and bathroom scrupulously clean. Light music playing in the background. Pizza was awesome!!!! Exceptionally generous pour for scotch! Definitely would return! Ask for Julie, wonderful server.
Jana Carter
What an amazing brunch!! We were blown away with how delicious everything was! So excited they’re now doing brunch every Saturday and Sunday. Can’t wait to come back!!
Caitlin Nesbit
Wonderful Italian food in our neighborhood. The portions are large - we had plenty to take home with us after the delicious charcuterie + focaccia bread starters.
Olga Cepec
Went here for the Restaurant week. The food quality and presentation was amazing. The service was great!

Sarino is now a certainty every time I come to Louiseville in Kentucky the chef Carmelo Gabriele makes me feel at home with his delicious dishes his carbonara is fantastic and his pizza like the Italian one
you can taste his Italian origins in all his dishes ...... I am convinced that his father is proud of him wherever he is❤️

Came here during pizza week and enjoyed the experience. The bruschetta is different in that they serve much larger pieces atop a focaccia. Everything was delicious

The best Italian food in Louisville! The service was amazing! Thank you to our waitress Wesley and to the general manager Emily! Absolute delights! xoxoxo!

I met some friends here for dinner and loved it. The menu can be pricey, but you get what you pay for, and it's worth it. The mussels in red sauce were a nice treat(reminds me of the ones you get at Park Tavern in Rutherford, New Jersey). The veal was prepared excellent, and the eggplant was cooked to perfection. The only setback for me was red sauce on asparagus, just salt and lemon zest for me, please. Perfect date night spot or if you just want some nice Italian cuisine. I would definitely go back.

Phenomenal food and wonderful service. We are major foodies and loved every course. The smoked duck on the charcuterie board was 🤌🏻.

Best lasagna I've ever had and they replaced it immediately when I ordered something I didn't like. I ordered the prosciutto & arugula Pizza the main reason I didn't like it is it did not have enough sauce on it but Alene was one of the best servers and her attention to detail was really on spot she really deserves some kudos thank you all for making great food. Prosciutto, smoked gouda and fresh basil Pizza would be good with a good amount of milled tomato sauce on that crust would be an amazing Pizza.

100% the best Italian in Louisville! One of our favorite restaurants and a hidden gem. The food tastes authentic and is consistently delicious. The drinks are craft cocktails. The price point is very reasonable. Overall 10/10!
Sandra Perry
Amazing flavors and healthy options available at an Italian restaurant! Wow I was surprised and so thrilled with every dish. I was blown away by the gluten free pasta dish a friend ordered. I have been thinking about it ever since! The mussels were soo tasty too! Great job with Covid safety protocols. The three of us had a great time.

Extremely happy we tried it out. Didn't even realize who owned it until the manager bussed our table himself. Seafood risotto , pork chop, and veal marsala w dessert and drinks. Everything excellent. (Tipped 30%)

Our server was great. The bratty screaming kid definitely put a damper on our date night, but i dont blame the restaurant for that. The pizza is very expensive for not great quality. Hardly any toppings, and the bottom was very soggy with the exception of the crust. My husband was very pleased with the chicken parm. I got the pork which was delicious, but not thoroughly cooked. Almost raw in the middle. The green beans had i think as supposed to be bacon, but it was like chunks of really hard jerky. Too hard to eat. I would have given 4 stars but was completely grossed out when the guy who brings out the food has his long hair not tied back, hanging over the plates he carries. We ordered the chocolate truffle for desert. the small scoop of truffle was pretty good. Def very expensive for what you get. The whipped cream was watery (gross), and the strawberries were old, almost slimy. But the 2 blackberries were very good. For these reasons we will not be going back. Hopefully management will address these things because this place could be great.
Joshua Menefee
Tried the sangria summer special I think, which was refreshing and tasty. Also had the spaghetti with meat sauce which was phenomenal. Can't wait for my next date night to have an excuse to come eat here again.

I will preface this review by saying I will be coming back to see if this was just an off night.
To start, we arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation, however they were able to seat our party of three which was great. Our waitress brought us water and took our drink order. From there we were rather disappointed with her service for the remainder of the meal. We didn't see her for a full ten minutes after our drink order, still with no drinks. I do understand that the bar was backed up, but at least let us order some appetizers while we wait.
We did order charcuterie, tuna crudo, and focaccia. These were all great. The only "complaint" would be that the toasts that came with the charcuterie were very crumbly and didn't hold up to the meat and cheese very well. The focaccia made up for that! The tuna crudo was very good, although slightly heavy on the capers. They were easily removable if you need less.
For dinner we had three different dishes. Vodka sauce pasta, Arrabatia sauce pasta, and the Farro & Arugula salad with a side of meatballs.
The Vodka sauce was pretty good. It was slightly heavier on the tomato than most others in town but it worked very well. The pastas for both dishes were hand made and for for vodka was cooked a perfect al dente.
Unfortunately the Arrabatia pasta was very undercooked. It had a significant hard bite to it that wasn't pleasing. Good news is that the Arrabatia sauce was terrific. Spicy and meaty, with a generous portion.
The salad and meatballs were good. Meatballs were tender and moist.
Back to the service, when the food runner dropped the food off he asked if anyone wanted some fresh cracked pepper for our dishes. Two of us said yes. He let us know it would be right out. A few minutes later (3 or 4) our server came out with a plain old ground pepper shaker. The whole table literally laughed, and couldn't believe it! I had to take a picture of the shaker just for proof.
We did order dessert: Cannolis and Espresso. The Cannolis werr killer. The Espresso was Luke warm once it got to me.
Courses were timed well, about 90 minutes for the meal. The waitress was really attentive for 10 minutes then we wouldn't see here for 15 sometimes.
Overall, 3 stars, but as stated I'm hoping this was just an off night. We will come back in a few weeks to see if thay holds true.

I just love this place. Veal piccata is excellent. Took my grandkids and one got pizza and the other got spaghetti and meatballs. Excellent. My son got Chicken Parmesan. Excellent. We will go back again. Great experience each time.
Erika Oliver
Loved their charcuterie board because you can pick 4 items (cheese/meat) from all of the options. Perfect for sharing with friends! The atmosphere was nice, clean, and cozy. I went with a group of 6 and appreciated that we could all still have a conversation and hear each other, unlike some restaurants that are very loud! Will definitely be returning in the summertime to enjoy some pizza on the patio!
Elisio Sapata
Very good Italian restaurant, fresh pasta, interesting environment and friendly service.
They also have an interesting bar area.
The environment is also very good for larger groups.
We will be going back to try some other dishes.
Highly recommend the Shrimp and risotto, the Arrabiata (it is served very spicy) and the Shrimp in Vodka Sauce. There were other dishes served at our table and all were complimented (roasted chicken and the swordfish).
Jeremiah Justis
Excellent experience. The food was wonderful. The drinks, especially the Sarino, were fabulous. Price was also perfect. And the bartender was amazing.
jody hamilton 502
The service and food were excellent!
Matt Coddington
Excellent food, nice preparation and presentation. The atmosphere is very hip and trendy. Very cool vaulted ceiling that reminds you of a ski lodge. One thing I'll mention about the atmosphere is I think the music was tad too loud. And I'm a musician!!
There were three of us dining. The artichoke fritters were a very tasty appetizer, though I would argue they're not really a fritter! They were more like fried chunks of artichoke, but regardless, they were very delicious!
Our entrees were chicken saltimboca, eggplant parmesan, and a five cheese pizza.
The saltimboca was a very large dish! Two sizeable chicken breasts and a very healthy serving of brussel sprouts. I was delighted to be able to have some to take home as leftover!
The eggplant parmesan was delicious. They offer pasta as a side, though my wife opted to just have the parm and it was more than filling.
My mother-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. It was quite large, so she had half of it to go.
I had the deconstructed tiramisu as a dessert. It was exquisite.
Highly recommend Sarino! We'll be back soon I'm sure!

Sarino has an absolutely beautiful ambiance - The decor and layout is very romantic and has the classic European style and feel. My friend and I tried the Tuna Crudo and we also split the margherita pizza - both were good but not exceptional. Their wine selection is nice and our waitresses recommendations were solid. Overall, I think they could spice up the menu a bit, but the atmosphere is wonderful... I’d definitely come back for a date night and give this spot another try.
Cindy Hartley
Love the atmosphere, staff very welcoming, food is amazing. I went for Louisville Restaurant Week and was not disappointed by their special meal.
Ellie D
Such a lovely place. Service was good. Food was yummy. Atmosphere was nice. I really liked the meatball appetizer and focaccia appetizer.
Returned for lunch and was just as pleased with the grilled chicken caesar salad and the delicious slice of pizza. Service was wonderful again.

Decided to try this place out a couple of weeks ago with the family. For starters, it is definitely not baby friendly. There were 4 adults and 1 baby in our party, and the hostess was going to seat us a one of the four top tables in the center of the extremely busy restaurant. I didn't want to risk someone knocking over the highchair while trying to maneuver the small aisle space with my infant in her carrier. She seemed annoyed when I requested for a table to the side of the room where i could place my baby on the bench or in the corner and out of the way.
As for the food I was not at all impressed with the pizzas we chose. The red sauce was very acidic tasting and had really no flavor. The white pizza was better, but still very disappointing for the price. We also tried the bolognese.. It was pretty good once we added an adequate amount of salt. (They appear to season very lightly, which would be great for anyone needing to watch their salt intake!) Overall I feel they are somewhat overpriced for what you get. Though the bolognese was a pretty large serving. The focaccia bread starter was absolutely wonderful!! It was probably the best thing we ordered. The desserts were delicious.. I don't recall the name of the pudding/mousse dessert with fruit, but it was exceptional and you must try it! As for the reverse tiramisu, I was not a huge fan, but others in the party liked it. The chocolate mousse dessert was also very good, but very rich, and great with coffee! They do serve a fine cup of coffee that you should pair with dessert. All in all I would recommend, but I personally would not order the pizza.
Victor Himbaugh
We’ ve been eating there for several months now and just love it. We ate there on our anniversary and after dinner I went up to the desk and made reservations for the next night too. We had planned to celebrate with our family somewhere else
Scott King
I Think Sarino will be a very popular place!! The food was Outstanding as was the service that Christian provided! I highly recommend the pizzas as an appetizer and also the focaccia. And the strip steak with cherry glaze was fantastic!!
Mahesh
The restaurant is beautiful, they have a really nice outdoor seating and it is perfect to sit outside on a warm day.
The service and ambiance were great and the server we had was really helpful and friendly and the wine selections they have are really good.
The reason I’m giving this place a 3 star is because their food was bad, way too over priced for the quantity.
The pasta was undercooked, I’ve never been to an Italian restaurant where the pasta is undercooked where they also claim the pasta is all made in house.
Ordered the pea pesto and shrimp scampi and they were both undercooked. I never knew they give shrimp without peeling the shells for a shrimp scampi.
They charge $5 extra if you want to split a dish which I’ve never seen in any place before.
I might go back here for the wine but definitely not for the food.
Gil Schrage
Casual classic Italian restaurant, great food, attentive service in clean modern decor. Try the roasted cauliflower appetizer. Nice bar area with TV's. Good for quiet dinner or party with a group. Outdoor dining and private parking.
Erica Bindner-Wooten
Today was my first time there, but definitely won't be my last! The mussels were excellent. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. Make sure you save room for the tiramisu! Delicious!

Beautiful place. Loved the ambiance. The staff members are awesome. The food was delicious. Our server was so nice and very knowledgeable too! Loved the place.
Megon Miller
This is a new restaurant that is very with an industrial chic vibe. The food was delicious! I had a
Salad that was very filling and my husband said the gnocchi dish he had was the best gnocchi he’s ever had. It’s a high end restaurant and priced accordingly. Service was very good too.
Travis Ferguson
Excellent food and service! If we are in Louisville or driving through around dinner time this is our go to place to eat. Try any fish which sounds good to you. We haven't been disappointed yet with any of our selections.
Brett zumFelde
Highly recommend this place! Great service, food and atmosphere. Cheese plate, salad, pizza, dessert, drinks were all excellent. Will definitely be back!
Jonathan Chilian
Went with friends after trying to find something different in Louisville. The food was great, but a tad pricey for what you get. Does not even offer free bread.
Haniya Haque
The best Italian food in Louisville! It was my first time tonight and I had such an wonderful experience! Will definitely be going back
Bob S
Service was outstanding and professional. Our Waiter was polite, took care and addressed our needs, thoughtful, charming and knowledgeable.
Overall the food was good. Only the bruschetta was disappointing. It looked great but unfortunately it was a tasteless dry bread salad.
The Waiter immediately addressed the issue.
Definitely I would recommend a place to take a new date or do date night with the spouse.
Dave Harlan
The pizza was good, but I think I should have gone with the pasta. I’ll try next time!
BanditHQ32
Excellent service and great food. Be aware that portion sizes are on the large side. The lasagna was the best I have had anywhere. A great selection of appetizers, salads, cheeses, meats and entrees. Pace yourself, lots of food. The location is an oddity for a restaurant of this caliber but give it a shot, it's worth the visit.
Adel Elmaghraby
Excellent place. I enjoyed the Veal piccata and the meatball appetizer. The setup is wonderful specially outdoor.
Haggai Ariel-Joel
Super awesome authentic Italian restaurant! Fancy and nice, but not too expensive at all. Great appetizers, charcuterie boards, delicious fresh pasta, great pizza, lots of entree options, and incredibly amazing desserts! Highly recommended.
Nicholas Belt
It was ok. I would disagree with the claim that it is “authentic Italian”.
Although it can be difficult to accurately rate a restaurant based off of one visit I think for the $$ there are three other Italian restaurants in the area that offer a far better overall experience.
My general rule of thumb; only dine with 4.5 or higher any less is usually for a reason.
Divertiti!!
Lori Cundiff
We dine in often, and it’s always an amazing meal. Food and service are impeccable!!
Junior V
Excelent services and food was delicious definitely recommend this place
Philip A (Phil)
Wonderful dinner with my wife and my brother and sister-in-law. Great food, relaxing atmosphere.
Jeremy Ruhl
Great service, unique atomsphere and prices you won't find elsewhere. If you are looking for a nice night out that won't break the bank this place is great. Lunch entrees were all under 20 and dinner were all under 30.
Toni tinius-brady
We got the Margherita pizza and a Braxton beer .Great atmosphere, good service.Enjoyable night out.
Dennis Besaw
Enjoyed the Ham and Ricotta pizza and a Peroni beer it was all very good, waitstaff was very attentive.
Amy boyatt
Amazing little Italian joint. Great bartenders. Jamele and Cookie were great!!!
Elizabeth Ford
We always enjoy Sarino! They have an excellent wine menu - we had Daou tonight! ….The four of us shared the calamari….we ordered the Bibb salad and the farro/arugula salad to start. Both are wonderful! We shared arrabiata and bolognese…both consistently yummy entrees and the arrabiata is perfectly spicy! Sarino is consistently one of our favorites!
Carlos
Great service good food but it is the first time ever going to an Italian restaurant that doesn’t give you bread to dip. If you want some you have to buy focaccia. For focaccia it was a bit dry and crumbly so it was hard to tear apart and dip with. Other than that the food was very good.
John Day
It was absolutely awesome and the service was excellent. Great for a date night or family dinner night (which is what we did), and the kids loved it. I called ahead to make a reservation which I don't think is necessary but I think it was beneficial (if that makes sense) because they had our table ready when we walked in. Will definitely be back!
John Henle
Great food, felt like we were in Italy.
Amy H
Everything was great until we were mischarged for something that was not communicated to us. I tried talking to the manager, Emily, about it but she was condescending/belittling to me about the amount of the dispute. At this price point, it was unnecessary and rude.
Barb Hayes
Food, service, and ambience were great - we had a group of 25 and the waitstaff managed it beautifully. The current menu is somewhat different from the online menu; it would be helpful to keep the online menu current. Wine bottles were 1/2 off on Wednesday which is a terrific deal - our fabulous waitress suggested a bottle not on the menu and it was great.
Jim Sadlo
An amazing menu with heartfelt homemade Italian favorites... along with several nice surprises.
Add salmon to any salad $7.
Olivia Troehler
Seriously good Italian food. The antipasto alone could be your meal alone. The vodka sauce was group favorite. Would be five stars, but I got food poisoning off the mussels so there is that. Still planning on going back and trying some of the other items for sure.
Jancarlo O
Fantastic food and beautiful ambience. I ate outside their lovely patio and enjoyed a beautiful evening with a very small but carefully maintained garden on the side. I had the BEST pork chop ever, not dry whatsoever and also tried out the Bolognese which was flavorful and very saucy!! I highly recommend this establishment!
Sierra B
Everything was amazing. They were booked up but we got lucky and were able to be seated at the bar area. There was also soace at their community table. We really enjoied the great service and the food was absolutely amazing. So fresh and flavorful!
S Sy
This is a solid Italian restaurant.
My husband and I ordered and shared different cocktails and plates; everything was delicious. High quality pastas (I believe it's made in-house, but I'm not sure) cooked perfectly al dente. The different sauces were fresh and flavorful. The dessert was priced fairly.
The food was delicious and the service was adequate. I gave it 4/5 stars bc the ambiance was lacking just a bit. Otherwise, this is a solid Italian restaurant that my husband and I have already said we'd dine at again.
Audrey Johnson
If I could eat here everyday for the rest of my life I would. The vodka sauce pasta is on a totally different level. Always treated so well by the staff. This is hands down my favorite restaurant to ever exist. Chef's Kiss.
Tracy Slone Billing
Pros - very tasty, simple Italian pasta dishes done well at affordable prices.
Cons - very loud dining room and somewhat inexperienced wait staff.
Definitely going back for another visit.
Floyd Schanz
As always, delicious. The wait staff was pleasant and did her job well. She was helpful but not too much attention either. The cost was on point for the quality and quantity of food. Well worth every penny and actually not as many pennies as it could be.
Pablo Lucero
Excellent service. The Italian food is far from Italian food.
john maggio
Our appetizers were delicious. We had the spicy Italian sausage and meatballs. The sausage was spicy and the onions and peppers were tasty. The sauce for the meatballs was very good. My wife would not share the meatballs...
I had the Sicilian mushroom pizza and it was very tasty. The ingredients made the center a bit soggy though. My wife had the margherita pizza and ate the whole thing, which is unusual.
Definitely enjoyed the food and the service was very good. Will return again.
Michael Yankel
Unfamiliar with Louisville and looking for some good Italian food I googled and took a chance on Sarino. I enjoyed the Arrabiata! It was outstanding! The prices were also very reasonable compared with other Italian restaurants nearby. Definitely the right choice. Did not disappoint!
Della Glenn
The best vodka sauce and shrimp I've ever had with huge shrimp !!
Todd Epley
Best Italian food in Louisville, the carbonara and the pork chop are both INCREDIBLE
Preston senters
I would give 5 stars if not for two things. Lackluster service and a bland, chewy veal marsala that left a lot to be desired. That being said, the crudo, the charcuterie, the salmon croquettes, and the foccacia bread were spectacular! My wife had the ham and ricotta pizza and it was delectable! Our companion had the grilled shrimp and all of the components of the dish were spot on. We had three different desserts which included the cheesecake(raspberry), the cannoli, and the chocolate truffle. I would recommend them to any friends or family. We will be back!!
Patti Elliott
The food was good and the service was very good
Natacha De Barba
Whilst the food was good, the service was a let down from when we sat down which is really ashame.
Whilst coming from a hospitality background in a country where tipping is NOT a requirement I found it really hard to tip tonight and that is because you have to do it. I just really hope that our waitress tonight is more attentative and waits on people better in the future.
Jessica Caruso
I’m don’t wanna give 3 stars because the food wasn’t necessarily bad. I ordered off postmates. I ordered soppressata and parmigiana reggiano cheese. It was good but the ration of cheese to meat was so off and overpriced in my opinion. I got meatballs and the amount was great for the price and I can tell they are homemade and not frozen. I got salmon croquettes and they were pretty good. I wanted potato croquettes because that’s what was on the menu on postmates but I guess they don’t serve those anymore. If you love salmon you probably would like these. The most upsetting part was the half portion of carbonara I ordered. It was like Paula deen cooked it. There was way to much butter and oil. It didn’t need all that oil. Or maybe someone didn’t render the fat on the meat before mixing it with the pasta. I don’t know but that needs some work. Ultimately there were good moments. When I try it again I will be going there.
Svitlana Dovhopiata
Food was amazing!!!!! Service was great too:) Everyone should visit this place when in town!!!
Patrick Carrico
Germantown location with modern decor and wonderful indoor and outdoor seating options. Affiliated with legendary Louisville "white cloth" Vincenzo's restaurant. Service was prompt and well informed and the food was well portioned and delicious. Server's recommendation of Arrabiata was a good one although the dish is definitely spicier than I expected. Excellent charcuterie choices.
maui santos
*Food is delicious
*Ambiance is fantastic
* Flavors are on point
*Pasta is al dente and etc.
Shout out to Chef rein and chef drake they are both over the top, to our server Emily is really nice and very attentive.
We are definitely going back <3
Ben Curtis
Authentic, delicious Italian food in a really cool setting. The bar is awesome with plenty of TV's, covered and uncovered outdoor seating. It's family friendly even with little ones between the music and general noise we didn't didn't notice a family of 8 right over the booth from us. I usually get the Veal parm with bolognese or the Calabrese pizza, calamari, and definitely wrap it all up with a Canoli!
Quick note on the pizzas: I've had over 90 local pizzas in the Louisville area, and this is my number 1.
Anthony Maiorana
I think the quality of food was excellent and our new server did his best. There are certain things on the menu that should change I think to fit the tastes of the community. For instance bread should be served with the meatballs or at a minimum recommend that they be ordered together.
Overall I think the restaurant is good and that I'll go back and I hope they become cash flow positive. I didn't have the whole menu, but I think it's a great alternative to Eiderdown when it comes to a nicer dining experience.
Brandon Mullins
Honestly a really amazing place! They made our pizza absolutely perfectly in a proper oven. The entrees were fantastic, the steak cooked perfectly, the pork chop was moist, tender, and flavorful. I got the meat and cheese bourd and it was wonderful! The meats were perfectly fatty and not dried out while the cheeses looked as though they were freshly cut and were really flavorful and pungent. Deserts were done very well. I cant recommend this place enough. If you are in town and are looking for options to eat, then there isn't a better option for the atmosphere, service, price of food, AND such good food. Give this place a shot and you will not be disappointed.
Jessica Haley
Amazing Italian cuisine in a beautiful space operated by absolutely lovely people. Gluten-free options are available but do not hesitate to try the fresh house made pasta if your diet allows; not gluten free but absolutely worth it.
We had a party of 6 (out of town) and we arrived about an hour before close on a Wednesday. The chef greeted us at the door, our bar tender was very helpful in selecting our drinks, and our server was attentive and kind. We never once felt rushed during our experience and the restaurant ambiance was so relaxing.
We each tried a different pasta/sauce. I couldn’t pick a favorite and I wish there was a sampler plate option. We will definitely visit again when we are back in town.
Bobbi Jo Yates
I had THE BEST experience here. Our server, Morgan, was attentive, knowledgeable, and super friendly. The atmosphere was great! Great for peaceful dining, but still had TVs so we could watch the game! I cannot wait to go back!
Mick Asuncion
I've been 3 times, and each time was delightful.
Casey Wilder
Very nice ambience inside restaurant. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was delicious, probably would jave been much better if I ate there instead of taking it home 30 minutes away. I will be back and look forward to eating in the restaurant!
Joseph Muscato
Found this at the recommendation of my daughter on our visit to Louisville. What a great find! Wonderful Sicilian food. I had spicy sausage in tomato sauce with pasta. My wife had a pasta with eggplant and onions and my daughter a wonderful eggplant parmigiana. We had a nice Sicilian wine. Well worth the visit.
Laura Zoeller
Our party of nine had a great experience. Thad took great care of us without being too obtrusive. Wine, beer, and cocktail selection is well-curated but not fussy or over the top. Homemade pastas, delicious pizzas, and a large choice of charcuterie are moderately priced but obviously made with care and fresh ingredients. Love the look of the place as well. Can’t wait to go back!
Flavio Coste
Very nice setting with a menu that will please the crowd. Appetizers are amazing, we had meat balls, mushroom risotto, and arancini. Food made fresh and beautifully presented. Go to spot if you’re in Louisville.
Lizzie Jones
Great Staff! We just finished a birthday dinner for 12. Food was amazing, they had a nice wine selection and helpful waitstaff. Yes it is loud, because sound bounces off every surface, but that just means you don't have to worry about being quite! Looking forward to coming back during warmer weather and eating outside.
Mitchell Hadley
The vodka sauce pasta was amazing! Our server was very attentive and helpful. Great atmosphere and quality food.
Crow Lavey
Best Italian meal I've ever had 😍😍😍 …
Lisa W
We are visiting Louisville from Kansas City for a horse show and found Sarino by accident, but what a pleasant treat! Amazing food with great service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town! Highly recommend!
Alan McDaniel
A bit pricey, but worth it, delicious food and coctails.
Estill Frodge
One of my favorite places to eat. This place has it all. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and wonderful food.
Kathy Smithers
My husband and I were there on a Saturday night. While the service was good, we were disappointed in the food that night for the first time. We usually order an appetizer, share an entree, and add a side of pasta. That way we don't end up with leftovers. Normally we split the dish ourselves and there is plenty, but the waitress had it split for us and it was way smaller than just bringing the full dinner. And with a $5 split fee, we felt that $34 for a very small entree was overpriced for what we received. And it wasn't as good as usual. So just won't be back for awhile...still love this place but won't have them split an entree any more.
Dustin Ellis
Excellent authentic Italian cuisine! One of the best Italian eateries in Louisville. Chef Carmelo is very personable and made Fettuccine Alfredo special for my pregnant wife since it’s not on the menu! Very much appreciated, we will recommend and frequent your restaurant often!
Troy Windhorst
Good:
- exceptional service on my visit
- menu wide enough to please both serious Italian connoisseurs and health nuts likes myself
- attractive, inviting atmosphere
Cautions:
- food on my visit may have been a bit rushed as the grilled/roasted cauliflower was still a bit too crunchy
Two errors was made on my visit regarding the food but this was rectified in the most efficient, polite, and rewarding manor, the issue is more worthy of praise than it is criticism. While I had a bit of an issue regarding the prep of my cauliflower, there was no complaints from others in my party.
The exceptional service is my takeaway from this visit. I plan to return and encourage others to visit if you haven’t done so already.

Had a fantastic dinner here with my mom. Focaccia bread was delicious, as were the farro salad and pomodoro pasta we shared. Lovely interior garden and patio. We thought all the prices were super reasonable and the portions were nice. Excited to come back for the 1/2 off bottles of wine one Wednesday!
Audrey Johnson
This is my favorite restaurant to ever exists. I dream about their vodka sauce pasta... they are always so personable and polite. A go to spot for any one and everyone.
George Armstrong
Terrific food, great decor, and an absolutely awesome staff. Sarino has to be the best kept secret in dining in the city of Louisville.
RyanOhlinger 41
I ate here for the first time after receiving a gift card from my property management after moving down here, I had the bolognese pasta and I have to say it is the best pasta I have ever eaten. The service was fast, and the lady at the counter was very nice. I would come here again for sure!
Marie MK
Ate at Sarino's for the first time tonight. The atmosphere is contempory and beautiful but very comfortable. The food was delicious. I had the Pesto Seafood. The swordfish melted in your mouth and all the pastas here are made fresh each day. Our dessert, the Panceta was the BEST thing I have every had. Our server was friendly and very knowledgable about everything on the menu because we did ask many questions. I will definitely return again. The prices were very reasonable as well. Bravo to the Chef because the menu was wonderful and hard to choose from. I wanted it all. Thank you for a nice evening Sarino.
Dakota Neff
Wow wow wow. I initially heard an Italian place was opening here and I was a bit disappointed, considering there is a pizza/pasta bar right across the street. But when a friend convinced me to go, I was totally impressed. Our food was so delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. All the employees we interacted with were super friendly and the interior of the building is really well decorated. You can tell they really pay attention to detail here.
Kyle Llewellyn
Haylie was a great server. Very knowledgeable with the wine list and menu. The salmon was outstanding.
M M
Great service, food and drinks all at a great price. They're even happy to stay open for you after close if you're still eating. Especially recommend the cauliflower and eggplant caponata. If you're on the fence, give it a try. This is real Italian food!
Jenna Schering
Pasta was pretty good, service fine. Just didn't seem like anything too special. No bread and oil served as appetizer, no parmesan offered.
judith ross
Sarino did an amazing job hosting a party of 50. Most delicious meatballs ever...perfect service....wine and fun dessert plate. Couldn't have been better....
Matthew Peerce
Excellent service, great atmosphere, and good food.
We visited Sarino just a week after opening and they had some kinks still to work out, but the food and service more than made up for it.
We ordered the panella for an appetizer and it was huge (appetizer for 4 people) for a 5 dollar appetizer. It was perfectly cooked with a lemon aioli that was very light. We went on to order the swordfish which was a bit light on salt, but perfectly cooked and with a delicious coulis, and the ham and ricotta pizza, which is definitely the best pizza I have had in Louisville (better even than Coal's). The crust was absolutely perfect.
We also had 3 cocktails: the godmother, the new fashioned, and El chapo. All 3 were excellent, although the El chapo was garnished with cilantro which was a bit difficult to drink around.
Our server was excellent and very friendly, we were seated immediately and our orders were very quick.
Sarino is definitely one of the best restaurants in germantown/schnitzelburg and a must visit for any lover of Italian cuisine.
Michael Davis
Delicious, great atmosphere,prompt friendly service!
Stephanie Schaefer
Our evening started with a good server, timely delivery of food. The fresh made pasta is spot on and the sauces we're yummy. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Louisville.
David Burbidge
Waiter and food we're very good but the back shops such as the bar and grill let the waiter down. Wrong orders and bar order took too long and we cancelled. Tall open ceilings in main dining area with no accoustics make for a very loud atmosphere.
Sabine Hutchason
This was a very nice Restaurant. The decor was fantastic. The food was great and our server did excellent.
Mike Skelton
Love the bartender and the atmosphere. Employees were incredibly friendly. I live near here and will be returning soon.
Becky Beanblossom
Sarinos food is amazing. The portions are huge and the parm chicken was just as good heated up the next day. Great service as well.
Laurel Chavis
Love the look of the place, however wasn't impressed with any of the dishes that were ordered at the table there were four of us and we all ordered something different, we all tried each other's dishes. I can say though that I did quite enjoy spicy Basil Paloma cocktail.
M Bell
Service was great.. Food was good except pork chop was under cooked...I just cooked it more for my hubby, so he could eat it...
Rich Walker
Food and service were excellent. They make their own pasta. We will be returning again soon!
Robyn O'Brien
I recently had dinner at Sorino in Germantown and was disappointed in both the food and service. The potato croquettes were light, but void of all flavor. I ordered the pasta with shrimp and vodka sauce, which was over salted and the shrimp were overdone. Our yoga pant clad server was distracted (they were not busy), slow, and couldn't be bothered make sure we had appetizer plates or to clear our tiny table of the dishes and glassware. After paying over $100 for a meal (one of those dishes was pasta), I expect more. Most people would.
With all of that said, I hope to see the menu and the standards of service improve. I would personally love to see Sarino not just survive but thrive in Germantown.
Dave Loeffler
Got there early for half-price wine Wednesday. Fantastic apps. Great serving for the price. I had the pork entrée and I loved it. One great thing about this Germantown restaurant is they have off street parking. Huge plus in this neighborhood. I'll be returning soon.
Bwills Loufam
The food was delicious 😋. Each bite was better than the last!
Ed Weyler
I liked this place, I really did. But it seems they are trying too hard to be foodie/trendy. My eggplant dish was delicious but had a scant 1/4 cup of sauce, no pasta and no side dish with it. My friends veal had two very small slices of meat, no sauce and an 1/8 of a cup of a vegetable.
Now this might be the minimalist construction of a dish but neither dish, though tasting wonderful, had no bang for the buck.
Also, if you order the cannelloni for desert REQUEST A FORK. It is impossible to eat with the provided spoon.
In closing hey, foods great. They just recently opened so give Sarinos a try because it was obvious they were trying hard.
Tim Edington
Fantastic food, amazing service. Glad to see they are now open for lunch too. A bit pricey for pasta but you get what you pay for. The experience and service make it worth it. A Schnitzelburg treasure, I hope this place makes it where so many others failed. They are doing it right here.
Noelle Raque
Loved the Valentine Menu! The food was delicious and full of flavors, spicy & sweet roasted cauliflower, 4 different Bruschettas, cilantro a with kick , tender 5 oz Filet that left your tastes buds wanting more, rich & creamy tiramisu! Can't wait to go back next time to try more dishes! Bravo!!!!
Alexander Weaver
Originally we had intended to go to the Four Pegs (great fries), but noticed Sarino across the street. In the interest of always wanting to try new restaurants we went in instead. Not disappointed. The food was great, particularly the carbonara which was actually light and closer to true Italian style rather than the overly rich near alfredo quality sauce you get at most Americanized Italian joints. Of the four dishes we ordered (Arancini, Carbonara, Sausage & Rustic Potatoes Pizza, Four Cheese Pizza) no one was dissatisfied and we cleaned our plates.
Our server was particularly helpful and after we had finished eating gave a pretty thorough rundown of what dishes he suggested in the future. We will be coming back.
If I had to say something bad about the place it would be only two things. The first being it would seem an absence of just a small side/house salad. It may be offered, but was not present on the menu and there appeared to only be full salad dishes. The other would be lack of sound absorbing material. We went very late at night and the place had mostly emptied out, but I could tell that the inside area would get *really* loud with a mostly packed house. A couple of panels in the rafters/on the walls would go a long way in that regard.
All in all we're excited to go back and will likely keep it as a regular visit.
Michael Martorana
Perfectly priced good Italian fare. Pizza is good as long as it's cooked long enough. The vodka pasta dish is delicious. Great outdoor space.
Brandon Cochran
I was here for a private event, so it wasn't during normal hours. We where the only ones there. However, the food was delicious and the service was great. Good beer, wine, and of course bourbon selections. I'll definitely be back!
Rebecca Wells-Gonzalez
The chef was incredible and really made us feel like we were valued guests. next time I won't bring the whole family and I'll go on a date night, but they were really accommodating for eight people!!
Joy Roelfs
Clean restroom, polite staff, quality beverages, homemade pasta, tasty dessert. Have had good experiences with the calamari and mussels (mussels were almost a meal in themselves). Excellent pizza margherita. Farro salad and bresaola salads we're each excellent quality (no wilting) and different from the usual. The Farro is a little more filling. Homemade pasta for some of the dishes. Very happy to have a cannoli with a crisp shell!
Karina Hoffmann
Beautiful modern building and interior, great bar, cool vibe, tasty food at moderate prices and very friendly staff. The chef greeted us, asked for feedback and made sure everything went well. We’ll be back!
Judi Christopher
Love the ambience. The meal was very good. I knocked a point off because the Calamari was awful. Bartender was fun and made great Old Fashions!
Dennis Keibler
Top notch service and great flavor combinations. Baked cauliflower appetizer, salami pizza, and a canoli for dessert was just the right amount of food to get me full. Definitely a keeper.
Margaret S. Harris
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was delightful. Good place to celebrate one's birthday.
Allanah Brady

adam karpoff
It is nice to find a new restaurant that actually still provides excellent service. The staff was great and the food and drinks were delightful. I highly recommend this great experience to everyone.
Hayden T
Too expensive for what it is. We didn't feel that we were getting anything extra or special with the dining experience. There was nothing we considered "next level" other than fancy names. Can't say that we'd return or recommend.
Michelle “Chelle” Schmitt
They stopped selling their lasagna!!! I ordered the bolognese and it was pretty good! But we had a great experience and the staff was very friendly.
Jessica B.
Great atmosphere and food. Charcuterie trays are wonderful, great selection of meat and cheese.

First time to eat there. Over priced, you have to pay extra to get bread. Ceasar salad was just lettuce and croutons. Disappointed, but enjoyed the company..

Service was very good. Food was so-so. No dinner side salad nor bread available. How is that possible?? No interaction with the chef/owner even though he was seen throughout the evening.

Talked with the manager who was extremely personable.
We really enjoyed having dinner here. We will definitely return when we can can.
Had a great time. The entire staff was great!
Kimi Weaver
We have dined here twice and have loved it each time! The food is exceptional, the service is amazing, and the ambiance lends itself to jeans and tshirts up to fancy dress attire. We have an older child who struggles with loud, chaotic restaurants. This was the perfect environment and they said it was the best dining experience and meal they'd ever eaten! Try the pork chop. It comes so beautifully grilled and tender with an apple butter to die for, a potato au gratin that is light and crispy, and green beans with thick bacon pieces that are amazing. You will not be disappointed. We loved it and will be back soon!
We paid about $25-$32 a plate, depending on what we ordered. Children's menu was about $11-$14 I believe. Desserts were about $8.
You can make reservations online or call ahead, which is a good idea because it can get busy! Join the rewards program for extra goodies!
