Reviews of Pizza Lupo
Shelby Berry
This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. This is saying something because I make a point to try a different pizza place twice a month and definitely other cities too. Everything is so fresh and it came out so fast! I can’t believe I have lived in Louisville for so long and never tried this place before! I can’t wait to come back.

OMG. I've never been so excited to eat pizza before today. This place serves wood-fired Neapolitan pizza with sourdough base. Absolutely delicious. They make spaghetti and meatballs with hand made pasta. It was so amazing, it is hard to describe. We came here on a weekday because they only serve this Pizza Fiore from Monday to Thursday, it's not even on the menu 🤤
Christopher Gillespie
It all looked so good, but if you are there mon-thur order the pizza Fiore! It's clear labor of love, but the fresh burrata and cold contrast to the hot pizza and amazing dough. The menu all looked good. Super cool spot and the wine list was extensive and unique. The service was top notch.

My partner and I ate here on 9/28/22 and we were blown away. Restaurant is adorable, food was incredible, service was fantastic. Only negative would be the tiny parking lot that doesn’t loop around, but still an amazing experience. Can’t wait to go back

sos, i am lost in the pizza sauce 🍕 🆘
this very cute, practically hidden pizza spot is delicious. if you didn’t know, i’m talking about pizza lupo tucked away in butchertown right behind a flood wall.
they pride themselves on wood-fired sourdough pizza, homemade pasta & flavors that will blow you away. we got the milk & honey pizza along with the ricotta stuffed agnolotti pasta. i have to say, every single bite was immaculate. we were there for dinner before a night out to celebrate my birthday & it was the perfect meal.
visit their website to find hours of operation & current menu items 🍝

Definitely a don't-miss for pizza fans. The sourdough crust is fantastic, sauce is on point, the toppings (especially the mushrooms) are some of the best I've ever had.
Lauren Floden
Back for the Pizza Fiore for the second time in a month! The ricotta stuffed crust paired with a burrata topping is truly a delicious culinary experience. Make sure to request a side of Mariana and red chili flakes to really kick it up a notch.
Courtney Jefferson
This was our first time trying Pizza Lupo’s. It was Delicious! We got the margherita pizza and the funghi. The garlic butter was also amazing. We will be back.
Meaghan Thomas
We had a lovely dinner here with friends. I really liked the pizza, but it was a bit undercooked in the middle (but still in the top 5 pizzas I've had in Lou). Our guest wasn't aware of how spicy a dish was, and it was pretty spicy for the average eater, so he wished the server/the menu had warned him a little more than it did. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. Liked the wine list and our dessert was delicious.
Dave Harlan
I had pizza and spaghetti for carry out. The pizza was a little too sweet, but otherwise ok, definitely not amazing. The spaghetti was better than the pizza and I’d get it again, but also not amazing.
The order was ready on time and the place was warm and inviting inside. The staff was a little surly, though quite efficient.
Abram Sweetser
Had a wonderful evening on Tuesday night, walked in with no reservation and was able to get a table. Food was excellent, Caesar salad and oysters were delicious and waitstaff were professional.
Emily Redding
Best pizza in the city, especially for the Neapolitan wood fire pizza fans. What makes them even better is they have the natural wine selection to go along with their unique menu, and it's rare to see natural wines in restaurants around here. Really amazing ingredients, seasonal menus items. The only thing I'd say is I'm not super crazy about getting this kind of pizza for delivery. If doable, sit down and get it fresh out that oven!

Ordered the spaghetti to-go for dinner tonight. Literally THE BEST TASTING SPAGHETTI WE HAVE HAD IN OUR ENTIRE LIVES. We can’t wait to come in for a date and some pizza. You have to try this place.

Pizza Lipo is 10 stars out of 5!!! If you are looking for a gastronomic experience with pizza, Lupo is the place!
If you've had real NYC pizza and have been craving it, and are tired of these pitiful franchise places serving lackluster dough topped with sauce and cheese,
then Pizza Lupo is for you.
If you've been to Italy and are craving authentic pizza, do not wait- rush over to Lupo!
I cannot express how elated my husband and I have been at having found Pizza Lupo. Both of us have traveled throughout Italy and have been craving authentic, delicious pizza; now we've found it.
The sourdough crust is phenomenal. The pizza fiore, the mushroom pizza and the margherita are all exceptional.
Wait! Don't forget the cocktails! We ordered Aperol Spritz and a paper plane and both were delicious!
We cannot wait to visit Louisville again to return to Lupo!
Riccardo D'Angelo
Pizza was great. Authentic pizza. Just bigger than usual. 16", and no 12" option. But great pizza. Highly recommend.
Hal Werner
Tasty pizza. It came recommended. Be aware that it's the super thin, floppy neopolitan style. That's my only knock on it, since I like being able to pick up my pizza and eat it by hand. I had to do knife and fork with this because it was so thin and floppy and wet. Crust in the middle barely held together and toppings kept trying to slide off. But if you like this crust style, I think you'll love it. Service was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. Environment/decor was not overly formal - I didn't feel out of place in casual clothes.
Glen Hawthorne
First visit. Pizza was fantastic! Drinks were great. Service excellent. Only complaint were the roasted oysters. Received 6 very, very tiny oysters at a price of $25. Definitely not worth it
Jaquata Davis
The good….food was fast, and ordering was easy. I ordered the “Sting Like Bee” pizza which was delicious but lukewarm and soggy. This confused me because it came out so quickly.
Improves….ordering your food via QR code reduces the in person customer experience. I had to ask for water and once finished, I had to get up and ask for a box as no one came by to check on me during my visit except to drop off the food. Expected a “warm, welcoming experience”.
Stephen McGill
Made a point of coming by as we passed through Louisville and were blown away by the quality of the pizza, probably the best we've ever had. Not to mention the sides / deserts which were also delicious. An absolutely lovely dining experience with great staff.
Joshua McCubbin
Fantastic pizza that steers clear of thick, buttery crusts and rather focuses on quality of ingredients. Unique options that will make you come back. Milk and Honey pizza was my personal favorite of the night.
Jared Heimovitz
Top 3 pizzas I've ever had. I will be dreaming of the crust until the next time I make it to Louisville
Hannah Liming
Really good pizza and atmosphere! I went on a Monday night and there was plenty of seating and we received our food quickly. I love the variety and combination of pizza toppings they offer.
Ben “The Blenster” Hibben
So just to be up front: a friend of mine works here so take my review with the knowledge I'm biased and also tip your folks well when you visit.
It's a small, cozy location with wonderful food but because it's small the kitchen is somewhat limited. Please keep that in mind and be flexible if they're not able to provide coffee or run out of something.
The staff are friendly and the service is great.
Hempgrl Yip
Excellent Experience. From start to finish the food and fellowship was amazing. Probably the best fire oven pizza in the neighborhood. Make sure you give it a try.
Joey Miller
Food - delicious. Recommend gnocchi, spaghetti & meatballs, and “sting like a bee” pizza.
Service - waitress was quick, friendly and efficient. Toward end of dinner while kids were eating gelato, Host told us, “no rush but the next party will be here in 5-10 minutes.”
Dear Host,
This is a good way to upset customers and earn your servers sub-par tips for all their hard work.
Amanda Barnett
We loved our experience at Pizza Lupo! Foodies, you need to eat here. Everything we ate was delicious and unique. We got two apps and a pizza and left with several slices of pizza for tomorrow.
Maria Thomas
If I could give this place 6 stars, I would!! The most AMAZING pizza I’ve had in the Midwest. We traveled from Indiana all the way here just to try it. We will definitely be back.
Tom Romano
Cozy spot in a recycled old residential building in Butchertown. Great vibe to the place and some of the best pizza in town. The oven-fired pizzas are really very good, all of them the same size (enough for two average people). I returned again to get a second style pizza and it was good also (the margherita style). Used RESY to guarantee a table.
Jessica Centeno
I will start by saying the pizza is amazing. Was very disappointed in the $2 upcharge for a ramekin of parmesan, $2 more for ranch, $2 more for garlic butter, and $5 for 2 pieces of bread. Then ordered half an order of oysters, but was brought a full order and charged. Not to mention our server did not like us, or her job. Not quite sure.
Max Kelly
Best Neapolitan pizza I've had in the USA. If you don't eat cheese, get the marinara. So so good. Server was very nice as well
shari naughton
Great neopolini style crust: thin and crispy with an amazing thick and chewy outside crust. The crust had an amazing flavor on its own and the topping combinations and balance was perfect!
Kayla Royalty
Pizza lupo is quality. Quality ingredients, quality service. Everything Ive tried has been delicious. The burnt eggplant is amazing, the gelato is decadent. Weve also tried the milk and honey pizza, as well as the falafel sandwich 👌 Everything is amazing, it's hard to not get one of everything. I am always looking forward to going back for another great experience.
Dennis Keibler
Seating is limited so plan accordingly. It's located out of the way of most downtown activities yet close enough to lyft or uber very easily. The pizzas are absolutely wonderful!
Eric Brown
Amazing pizza! Great cocktails. Make sure you have reservations. Very busy place, and not a lot of seating. Parking is tight, too. But it was worth the wait!
AM
Fantastic pizza and wings!
Only complaint was that the to-do cocktail I ordered (a Negroni) wasn't the cocktail I got (an Aperol Spritz, which you need to add your own soda water/champagne to).
Mark Adamiak
Pizza was out of this world, compliments to the chef. Service was excellent, atmosphere is very charming and inviting. If you’re in the city and a pizza lover, Lupo is a must!!
AJ Kavanaugh
Cool spot, great pizza and atmosphere. Parking lot is a bit tight though!
Judy Scott-Berger
My new favorite pizza place! Quality ingredients without all the cheese piled on top. Great!
Olivia Troehler
I am obsessed! The pizza was mind blowing good and the pasta was so tasty. Also the white negroni was just so unique and perfect. The citrus salad was the highlight of my night. Normal I make fun of people who really like salads but this was a game changer in the salad world for sure!
Matthew Rogers
We stayed in an Airbnb down the road and stumbled across this place for late night snacks. We were blown away. This is artisan pizza at its finest. The all female staff was knowledgeable, could make a killer craft cocktail and we're great to talk to. The space is a beautifully remodeled old historic residential space converted into a cozy upscale eatery. I really appreciated the nice touches of local art in the restrooms and bike racks out front. The string lighting outside was very welcoming and unassuming. The milk & honey pizza was a mouth orgasm.
R dL
Everything here is fantastic and consistently high quality.
Jeff & Michelle Minton
Outstanding is not a strong enough adjective! Wonderfully different, chef inspired fare with great pairings of eclectic libations! Worth a trip across the bridge! Two thumbs way up!
Mitch Federman
A M A Z I N G!!! The food is absolutely off the charts. We are huge pizza fans and this place absolutely delivers(literally and figuratively). The crust is chewy and the topping are delicious. These people are artists. The atmosphere was great as well. It is lively, but we were still able to have a conversation. I would highly recommend!
Teddy D
This pizza was delicious! The crust was well-fired; chewy and crunchy at the same time. The pepperoni cups were insane! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a ridiculously good pizza and salad
Nick Ware
I travel for a living and I eat pizza everywhere, it's my goal to find the best pizza in the United States. So far this is the best pie I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I've ordered it twice now months apart and verified my opinion. Simply a must eat pizza
Laura Delaquis
The food was fantastic (im looking at you chicken wings, salad, and oysters), the drinks were great and jello shots!! The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Chelsea Milligan
For being rated so highly, I would have expected much better. The falafel salad we got had old lettuce that looked past its prime and was lackluster. The pizza itself (the stinging bee or something) had a decent enough flavor, but the basil was burnt, and the crust was still somewhat doughy on the outside, which was much thicker than the rest. It was super floppy and very greasy. Cute outside area, and dog friendly, but I definitely would not eat here again.
Cara Tobe
Lupo's pizza is by far my favorite in the city. Their crust is incredible, the ingredients top notch, and the flavor combinations unique and yet so comforting! Also their pasta dishes are always so amazing I wish they had more of them!
Oh and don't forget the best selection of natural wines in the city.
Haley W
Pizza Lupo quite literally makes the greatest pizza I have ever had in my whole life. Discovered this place late last month and I’ve been back 3 times so far. They do not disappoint! The “sting like a bee” pizza is immaculate and your tastebuds will thank you! The dough has the perfect pillowy to crispy ratio, the spicy honey on the pepperoni is DIVINE, and the basil gives it the perfect fresh zing. Please go, like now. You won’t regret it.
Luther Pearson
An interesting experience. For a new restaurant they've got great food, a staff that's willing to get things right, so I believe they'll go far.
We had the Ricotto & Ful(pic), an unnamed hummus plate(pic), the Bitter Pig (11 inch pizza), Lamb and goat cheese Manti, a glass of wine for me and a cocktail for my wife.
The portion sizes were probably appropriate for those seeking a healthy lifestyle, but for anyone like me you won't be satisfied with their main dishes. Which leads me to my wishes.
I hope they get more options that are filling without being over 15. Maybe that's not who they're targeting though. I live just up the road on Kenilworth and while I'd like to make this a regular spot to eat I don't see myself leaving satisfied.
Raymond Clamens
Neopolitin style pizza, very delicious probably a go to choice...also had the octopus which was really good and the fettuccine was also a great dish, the servers were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive, overall great experience.
John Berry
Incredible pizza and atmosphere. Just love this place, great staff and fast service. Go now!
Liz
they can make a pretty good non-alcoholic cocktail. the ceaser salad is always a good choice.
Toni tinius-brady
I've had several people tell me to try this place. We're here at 7:00 on a Thursday night and there's a good crowd. We sit at the bar and have an interesting conversation with our bartender Katie about the name of this place. It's wolf in Italian. The property was established in 1860.Beautiful remodel. It's bigger on the inside than it looks Extremely charming place. We didn't bring our appetites but look forward to our return.
Grace Diamond
The pizza is delicious, but don't sleep on the desserts, either! Dylan bakes beautifully made creative combinations that you didn't even know you needed.
Kim B
We ordered the Margherita pizza and really enjoyed the sourdough crust. The cheese is lighter than on most pizzas, but the flavor was good. The staff was very polite, though there wasn't any service at the table after we got the pizza. It would have been nice for someone to check on us once for drinks, to-go boxes, etc, especially since we paid the bill with a request for tip right when we ordered. We'd be happy to go back, but we'll leave a cash tip at the end of the meal.
Aaron Fox
I’m spoiled having lived in Chicago for most of my life and had access to a lot of incredible pizza. I would argue Pizza Lupo rivals a lot of my favorite pizza in Chicago. The wood fired crust is both delicious in flavor and in texture. And the ingredients were all super fresh and tasty. I would have provided photos but we ate everything too fast! LOL! Very impressed by this find and highly recommend it!
Elizabeth Zukowski
The pizza. OMG the pizza! The crust is perfection and they play with interesting flavor combinations. I highly recommend the Milk and Honey.
Josh Johnson
One of kind pizza with many vegetarian friendly options! We have always had great service while in the dining room, outside, or sitting at the bar. All three areas are very comfortable with great atmosphere. The cocktails are very thoughtful, and everything is done with purpose and skill. They do skew more towards the bitter side, but have a lot of variety and everything is top quality. Great wine list and beer options as well. We like to bring friends here and everyone we have brought has absolutely loved it.
Vique Simba
This is one of my favourite restaurants in America! Their pizza is phenomenal and their seasonal menu is wonderful. I had a some kind of spring vegetables pasta there a few years ago that I can still close my eyes and taste. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in my life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Oh and the atmosphere is wonderful too!)
J Busch (Fobia260)
Hands down, the best pizza I have ever had. Fresh toppings, soft and flaky crust; it was all to perfection. Added to the experience, the cocktail menu was phenomenal, and the environment set the mood to enjoy dinner in a comfortable and friendly experience that I cannot wait to repeat again. Kudos to the staff and management. They are truly a top-notch, talented group of individuals and you should really treat yourself to partake and support.
Camilla Aubrey
so yummy. make sure you have a reservation! great staff.
Billie Shepherd
Best pizza I've ever tasted. I think I understand why, too. Wowzah !
Courtney Blair
Amazing Gem of a restaurant! Perfect family night out. Wonderful wine selection and staff. Thank you!
Michael Montgomery
I've never had something less than spectacular on their menu, but if they have the spaghetti and meatballs, it is not to be missed.
mike Warshauer
Great pizza and drinks. Cool building and set up. Great wait staff. Highly recommend
TD Miller
Not traditional Italian restaurant but service and food was pretty good.
Aurora Ulbrich
Everything here was perfect! The atmosphere, the drinks, the food!! Order the roasted potatoes side dish!! One of the best things I've ever had!!
Matt Lund
Delicious! Highly recommend!
Jeff Butler
If you like Neapolitan pizza then this is your spot. It's by far the best I've had.
Tim Palmer
We had a wonderful experience at Pizza LUPO! The staff was kind and welcoming and the food was outstanding! I highly recommend the Sting Like A Bee pizza. The sweet/spicy combo was delicious. We will return ASAP to try the rest of the menu.
Jonathan Alt
Best Pizza in the U.S. hands down. The sauce is what sets them apart.
Arden Miller
Was staying in an air b n b in Butchertown and my host recommended this place. Super friendly staff, GREAT mix of 80s/90s music, and AMAZING PIZZA. One of the only times I've gone to dinner alone and felt totally comfortable doing so there. The dough is sourdough and has a great texture. Delicious and pleasantly strong drinks too.
kpisan
A local's place we happen to find. This is different if its a first time. First thing, first come seating. You order food and drink from IQ code on the table or up at the bar. The friendly wait staff bring water, plates, etc. The Caesar salad was classic Italian, frisee and arugula lettuce mix, anchovies and no croutons. The pizza was just as good, perfect crust. Added pepperoni to the margarita pizza and they don't skimp. We'll be back.
Robin Bartee
Closest to true Italian/Napoli pizza I've found in Kentucky. (I miss Italy!) And they have seasonal selections as well, which I recommend, no matter what they are. All the food here is delicious.
D Wex
Very disappointing. I expected much more when viewing their website and menu, especially given the high prices. There is no table service. You have to up to the counter to order. You cannot get an item on 1/2 your pizza. The pizza is average. There isn’t enough cheese or sauce. Because the crust was so thin, it was soggy to the point of not being able to pick up a slice without all the toppings falling off. I can’t understand the high ratings. We won’t be returning. There are much better pizza places in Louisville.
Scott Pettinichi
We are regulars, been there a dozen time. As a New York transplant, the pizza and menu items are excellent . Last visit tried the natural wine, I would not recommend unless you have had this variety and know what to expect. Cheers!
Ed Silver
It was really good crust and good quality cheese and sausage. Want to go back and try it again. One criticism, you order at the bar and this creates a situation where you wait for someone else to decide what they want and asks questions. In our case, we decided we wanted to get more dipping sauce, but didn’t want to bother ordering and paying at the bar again. If we instead had a server, we could’ve ordered it and added to the bill. I think they are missing an opportunity to make more money in add ons and drink sales with their method of service. Small thing, but I think they should seriously consider this.
John Kull
Great experience just wasn't impressed with the pizza. The girl working the counter was awesome, the homestyle beer on tap was amazing, just a weird pizza experience. The taste was overall good but it was so floppy upon picking it up and there was what appeared to be a decent amount of olive oil on the pan. Maybe a little more time in the oven would of produced the pizza I was promised.
Becca Sporney
Update ! The chef/ owner is just as amazing as their food ! Handled this situation in such a great way and was very quick on responding and resolution. Would highly recommend, definitely best pizza in Louisville.
Gone way down hill in customer service and how long it takes to get your food . We absolutely loved this place when we first moved here . The last 3 times we have gone we have had to wait well over an hour for our food, and having worked in the food industry and with covid we purposely are giving them an extra 25-30 mins to pick up our order and it still is not ready, every time we have asked to check on our food the staff responses are “prolly will be done soon” or maybe soon. We all understand the hard times and staff shortages but the way it is handled is poor , won’t be going back and we would go once sometimes twice a week. They have amazing food would just appreciate a straight solid response to food that is taking a lot longer than expected .
crjufsu
We enjoyed our pizza (honey bee) very much. Will come back.
Mike Baker
Have had several wonderful experiences there, wonderful restaurant. The pizzas are wonderful and the crust is absolutely unreal. I've had several but the sting link a bee is my favorite. Don't sleep on the other menu items though, the wood-fired oysters are absolutely incredible. Really cool atmosphere as well, building must be well over 100 years old. Can't recommend enough!
Darrin Huff
Hands down the best pizza I have ever had. The balance of toppings to bread is spot on. I recommend asking your server which wine they would pair with the pizza you order, such a very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
I am already looking forward to my next visit!
Luke
Excellent food! Wine list is great and the lengthy list of digestive shots was super cool. Feels homey and tastes homemade. We will be returning.
Megan Collins
Pizzas are smaller than I was expecting but really, really delicious. Perfect for 2 to share.
Ryan Simon
Wood fired pizza and oysters were the best, also amazing hanger steak with pesto. Staff very friendly, amazing and accommodating.
Cesar maita
Everything is very beautiful, a real Italian restaurant, with good drinks. Excellent place.
Cindy Garau
Pizza was really good! Fresh herbs & toppings, thin crust wood baked taste. Large pizza (one size) will feed 2-3 easy. No eat-in dining at present. Parking is tight but space available down the street. Quick turn around on online order, only 15 min wait for a Friday between 5&6pm. Definitely a recommendation will order out again!
Dave Polus
All three in our party were over the moon about our meals. The Vesuvius and Roasted + Toasted are delicious and disappeared instantly. The Peaches and Cream salad was phenomenal...
Justin Magnuson
We went shortly after they opened and weren't overly impressed, but I am so glad we accepted when friends invited us for a birthday dinner. We shared of our dishes, all of them were unique and delicious. My favorites were the eggplant starter, speghetti and meatballs, and my falafel wrap. Highly recommended!
Carla Kelley
Quaint, cozy, delicious. We had the Stng Like a Bee Pizza and Falafel Salad.
Asher Taylor-Dawson
Fantastic pizza with stellar crust; a full bar with knowledgeable barkeeps. (Order enough pizza so you'll have leftovers—it reheats beautifully in a hot oven!)
John Houston
Best crust in town. Sting like a bee is a must order…
Madelyn Sampson
Pizza was great staff was nice we went on a week day so not to busy!! Little pricey for small pizza but it's better than normal pizza!!
Aaron Goodman
Honestly the best pizza In Louisville and sever states around. The magic is alllll in the crust. The rest of the food is great too
Courtney E
Best pizza in Louisville and great for a date night!
Sally M
I went as an out-of-town visitor with locals who know their way around the Louisville dining scene. This place is so cool....but very specialized. NOT typical "Italian food". I don't mean that as a negative, just as a comment. The ambiance is perfect, service impeccable. For diners with educated taste, it's a perfect, charming, relaxed night out.
Granger Adams
Ive been to Pizza Lupo's twice now. Both times the food has been excellent. Very high quality ingredients , perfect crust, and a real wood fired oven makes for some really good taste.
Ive had the Margarita pizza, classic in every way. And the Roasted and Toasted. The R and T was unique, and delicious. I normally dont order pizza without red sauce. I missed that detail, and ordered it by accident. However, It was delicious, with some really unique flavor. Would order again.
I also have had two sides- the Gnocchi w cauliflower and the chocolate chip cookie. The Gnocchi was superb, rich and flavorful with the selection of cheese. But I was disappointed in the portion size for a $15 dish. It was barely enough for two as a side. But for that price it should have been a meal portion. I would love to have this again, but I wont pay that price for it. Make it bigger or cheaper. And the Chocolate Chip was just so so for a $3 cookie. Id give it a pass.
In short, high marks for quality, but expect to pay a price, especially when comparing to other top Louisville artisan pizza.
Neil H
I ordered the Sting like a Bee pizza and it was so good. The pepperonis have a ton of flavor and the crust is well done. Very good pizza.
Dolly
Okay so we love pizza and we’re excited to try a new place. We were a group of 8 all over 60 and looking for a nice cozy setting to sit and eat pizza and chat. Well the only place they have for 8 was a wooden table and wooden bench... long benches. Very hard to get in and out of sitting next to anyone. And very hard to sit on. The pizza is .. I guess gourmet toppings.. the crust seemed hand made. The problem as we saw it.. the crust border took up a big chunk of each slice so the topping part was very small and there was hardly any cheese on either of the pizzas we got. The pizzas are pricey. They taste fine and we had an order of the bread which was delicious and helped fill me up. But we wouldn’t go back again. Oh and the parking!! The lot does not go all the way around so you have to back out a narrow drive out in to the road. It is very cute and cozy inside. I gave a higher score than I feel because I am trying to think of it as if I could have sat in a comfy booth...
Andrew Moulton
Really really good artisan pizzas. Each pizza I've tried has had delicious fresh ingredients and the pizzas are baked to perfection. The crust especially is spectacular. Combining the delicious food with the solid beer and alcohol selection plus a very friendly staff makes this place a wonderful spot to grab a meal, especially with friends.
Noah Strunk
This was hands down the best pizza I have ever had. The atmosphere is great, the staff is very knowledgeable about all kinds of wine and amaros. I will forever cherish this establishment
Adam Lee
Good pizza. Very expensive. $127 ,for a family of 4. 2 pizzas, 1 wine glass, dessert and 1 Ceaser salad and only waters! Probably pizza to go next time if we return.
Luke Oliver
6 of us went and got 3 different pizzas. None of them were very impressive
Mat Alano-Martin
Have been twice now and both times and it was a great experience both times. The building itself is beautiful and a very comfortable and inviting space to dine in. The servers have been on point and knowledgable about any questions I've had about the menu. Myself and my dining partners have tried a few different appetizers, pizzas and one of the pastas during my visits and every bite of each was fantastic. Last but certainly not least are the desserts which have been incredible both times. Highly recommend.
Felix Koch
Great pizza. Wonderful atmosphere. Dropped by for some pick up and during COVID pandemic they did a great job with safety measures.
Cant wait to get the chance to dine in!
Pizza was absolutely delicious! Will be going back and recommend it as a stop for everyone.
Sean Moore
Cool atmosphere, good service, and decent list of local beers. Pizzas are a little different, like pepperoni with honey, which was surprisingly good. Only complaint is that the pizza had a strong smoke taste, which I assume is from a super hot wood oven.
ear iskulak
The ambiance and service style here is great for a casual Italian spot. The pizzas we had were topped with high quality ingredients and were tasty. The pasta was top notch as well. First time I've seen guanciale on a menu in Louisville surprisingly. The cocktail I had was on point and creative as well. Beer selection was fitting for the menu. I'll leave the wine judgement to someone who knows more than I. Overall, I have to say it was one of the more satisfying dining experiences I've had in the neighborhood recently and will definitely be back.
UPDATE: As a 2020 update Pizza Lupo is still just as good as they were 2 years ago, if not better. The service during the pandemic has been spot on. I've done take out and delivery and they are taking into consideration their employees safety along with the clients. The food is still just as good. They have shown resilience and creativity by modifying their menu and service execution, this is something that I'm sure wasn't easy and other businesses can't seem to figure out. I can't wait to be back in the dining room, but for now they are truly morale booster for me.

The best pizza in the States. Anytime I pass through Louisville when they are open, I make sure to stop. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I always recommend this restaurant to my friends and family if they are in the Louisville area.
Scott Clarke
Genuinely the best pizza I have ever had. Cool service model, too.
Charlie LOVE,KINDNESS
Nice friendly place. Quick friendly service. Very small pasta dish expensive. Pizza has very thin crust, the bottom soggy, not crisp. Tasty, but just average.
David Crow
Great bagel brunch, absolutely perfect (from someone who's lived in NY for 7 years). Good service in a real rush period, and not understaffed like too many places. Love the communal bench seating. Can't wait to go back and try their pizza.
Clayton Rader
Interesting pizzas! A soft & chewy dough.
If you're more of a Plain Jane, the margherita pizza is the way to go. I also enjoyed the Salsiccia, as it was a bit more interesting. If you want something something a bit more adventurous, the Milk & Honey was amazing
Eric B
Cool place didnt know it was here so close to waterfront. I didnt prefer the gnocchi but the pizza was good
Casey Adams
The fried smelt might be one of the best appetizers in Louisville. It's perfection. Wonderful service. Our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. The wood-fired pizza was exactly the way pizza should be. LUPO does not disappoint.
Jacquelyn Wells
This is our absolute favourite restaurant in Louisville. We go at least once a month and love everything we’ve had. Their Caesar salad is so unique and the pizza is the best in Louisville - true Napoleon style in a wood burning oven ❤️
Shari McCauley
From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and treated well for our date night. Food was awesome! Tried the marinated olive and wood fired oyster appetizers both were delicious. Went with a pizza for dinner fist full of dollars. It was unique and delicious! Enjoyed the salted caramel gelato for dessert. Sarah our server was friend, prompt and laughed at our jokes 😁. We will be back!
Taylor Shaw
Best pizza in town by a mile. Great staff too.
Rachel Polus
One of the best meals I've ever had. Excellent salad and a beautiful pizza!
Amelia Werncke
One of the best restaurants in the city. Fresh oysters are amazing. Sting like a bee pizza is gold. A crazy good selection of wine and amari
Andrew Yeager-Buckley
I had a lot of hope but our pizza experience was just ok. The center was extremely undercooked. It was a busy night but that's not really an excuse. I'll give them another chance at some point.
Barry Holland
In this warm convivial space, I enjoyed another nice meal, if the service was not quite even (because the waiter had bar duty, too?). One of my dining companions was bothered by her "burnt" pizza. It was explained that a char is part of the style, and is to a certain extent (though that ought to be explained on the menu), but that uneatean item was graciously removed from the tab.
Julie Zlatos
The atmosphere is wonderful. Large picture windows, comfortable booths. However, the pizza toppings are skimpy. The crust is large so the portion where the toppings sit is smaller than most. Staff was friendly and did a good job.
Katherine Rampley
Amazing pizza and great space indoors/outside on the patio! If you're boring like me and normally just get pepperoni everywhere (which you can get at LUPO as well), I'd highly suggest trying the Sting Like a Bee pie. Also love their lambrusco, although all the drinks have been good.
Mackenzie Keating
Absolutely delicious! The ‘Sting Like a Bee’ pizza was phenomenal. ⭐️ Definitely coming back!
Julie Walker
Pizza Lupo's pizza, brillant handmade pastas and desserts are delicious! The restaurant also has amazing craft cocktails. The outdoor seating is fun and the indoor vibe has lots of positive energy. The staff is friendly and helpful! Check this awesome restaurant out now! You will be so glad you did.
Food Reviewer
Sourdough bliss and impeccable flavor amalgamation happens here at Pizza LUPO! Do try there pizzas, falafel sandwich, and the limited time pasta choices. Don’t forget to pair the food with fernets.
Crystal Sullivan
The homemade pasta here is SO GOOD and the Neapolitan style pizza crust is delicious. I love that the menu rotates with the season and everything is made in house from the sausage to the hot sauce. The interior is welcoming and not pretentious at all. Check it out!

PIZZA LUPO IS THE BEST LOCAL PIZZA
The sting like a bee with a side of ranch is *chefs kiss*
Also, their falafel sandwich is amazing, as well as other seasonal dishes they put out.
Mark Evans
Authentic napolitana is hard to find in Kentucky but Lupo nails it. Perfectly executed art, locally owned.
If you want pepperoni pizza and Diet Coke, there are plenty of places to have that. They’ll also likely have animatronic singing rats, which is very likely up your alley as well.
This is pizza for pizza lovers; house made marinara, high end ingredients, and fresh thin crust, like god intended when he invented pizza.
Alicia C. Bloos
My husband and I recently visited LUPO for dinner for the first time. We made reservations, which was a good thing, because although the restaurant was empty when we arrived before 5:30 P.M., those entering shortly after were told the only available tables were on the patio--all others were reserved.
As someone had commented in an online review, the menu was a bit difficult. Italian names and terms were used for dishes, ingredients, and manners of preparation, with no explanation or description underneath. Therefore, we were forced to ask our waitress to describe many items.
My husband found a pizza to order, with which he was very pleased. However, most pizza choices were a bit exotic with unusual ingredients. One or two more standard pizza choices would be a welcome addition to the menu.
In spite of the Pizza in the restaurant's name, we saw other Italian food in the website menu....but entree options only had three pasta dishes. I chose the lobster linguini. It was the only available choice for me, really. One featured quail, and the other had no meat or seafood. Some of the antipasto and salad options sounded too spicy for me, as spicy food causes me to be ill. My food was delicious, but the portion seemed a bit small.
We understand that the menu changes seasonally. A few of the more favorite--and well-known--Italian dishes such as ravioli and lasagna would be popular offerings year-round, I suspect.... unfortunately absent from this menu.
My husband and I shared a gelato for dessert. It was a perfect amount for the two of us, and a fabulous end to the meal. My cocktail was delicious, too.
Prices were a bit on the expensive side for a restaurant focusing on pizza. Service was excellent. We checked out the patio as we left: not much ambiance, no view, and picnic table bench seating, so not the comfortable outdoor dining we prefer.
While we had a positive experience, we may not return often to Lupo.
Potato skin reviews
It’s halftime and time for the final Super Bowl Sunday potato skin review. So this order is not your standard review. This review is a special order from @pizzalupo “We’re calling these super bowl tater’ skins “Indiana oysters” they’re topped with “Hoosier style pepperoni” and creme fraiche.” I was tagged in their post by several fans and knew I had to try these. The description along had me hooked. The order comes in at $12, wouldn’t be the best on the standard RoP scale, but the ingredients alone are worth it. The potatoes were massive, like finger tip to wrist big. Picking up the first skin, I was thrown off because I thought they felt pretty thick. Nope, scooped perfectly, just filled with plenty of toppings. The meat of the potato was soft and cooked all the way through, no raw spots. What came next was the great taste of pepperoni. It was thick cut, hit the spot and cooked up similar to bacon. That saltiness of the pepperoni was good. The cheese was melted perfectly, but the creme fraiche stood out. With baby scallions included, it was a great addition. Let’s talk about the custom ranch though. Like I need this recipe @pizzalupo I want more!! If that is your house ranch, bottle that stuff up and sell it. Since this order isn’t your standard skins, I’ve got to put these in the fancy category. That being said, on the fancy scale, this order comes in at 4.6 out of 5 🥔. #potatoskinreviews #potatoskins #potato #cheese #bacon #ranch #ranchlife #potatoes #pepperoni #potatoesarelife #pepperonis #PizzaLupo #Louisville #louisvilleky #kentucky #kyproud #ky #appetizers #appetizer #SuperBowl #superbowl2021 #superbowlweekend #TheWeekend #Google #Potatoskinsnearme #superbowlfood #pittsburghsteelers #Sunday #touchdown #sundayfunday

I love this little gem! Service has always been great and the "fancy" pizza is amazing! They have a nice wine list as well. Run, don't walk to Pizza Lupo! ❤
Charlie Wagers
What's not to love? Delicious pizza, creative dishes, classic cocktails, and run by a couple of genuine entrepreneurs. I try to make a visit every time I pass through Louisville, and recommend all my friends to do the same.
Justin Kibbel
Amazing pizza and cool atmosphere in a renovated Civil War era building. I had the Moonchild pizza and it was so delicious with fresh mushrooms. Chelsea behind the bar also was a delight and was making some unique cocktails. Would recommend to anyone looking for fresh and delicious Italian food, pizzas, or yummy drinks in the Louisville area.
Natalie Karrick
best pizza i’ve ever had and the staff and atmosphere is so welcoming and warm!! love the vegan options— highly recommend the marinara 500/5 stars
Dan Iannotti
A wonderful, wonderful place. The Neapolitan wood fired pizza is fantastic. The decor is hip and lively. Great to see this area of town coming back. With rock stars running the place, it's the Hard Rock of Louisville.
Derek Carlton
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Louisville. Wish I found this place sooner!!!
Daniel Shaw
For years, there have been only a few above average pizza places in town worth patronizing, and a whole bunch of terrible ones that I wouldn’t feed to my dog. Louisville has never had a “tier one” pizza joint.......... until now ! My wife and I have been here three times now and we love it. Twice I had the pizza, and once had a sandwich, and all were good, but the pizza is the star of the show at this place, and that is probably all I will get in the future because it’s just that good. This pizza is very different from Wicks (which I am a fan of ) thicker style piled high with cheese and toppings, and takes after classic European style pizza of thinner crusts and only one size. The toppings are obviously very high quality, but they are applied more lightly as to not overpower the divine wood fired crust. In short, if you are all about toppings, this might not be the pizza for you, this pizza is all about the spectacular crust, and the toppings are just the icing on the cake. Pizza LUPO has mastered the art of proper proportioning of the toppings to do exactly that, focus on the crusts taste and texture, while still giving you all the flavors a great pizza should have. This pizza is what you would expect to get at a top pizzeria in NYC or Naples, and if traveling to these pizza Mecca’s is not in your future, this will teleport you to there, and you will no longer have to wonder why people talk about the great pizza in these far off lands. It is truly on another level of pizza pie slinging rarely, ( if ever ) seen in these parts. I would love to see Pizza LUPO expand their dessert menu with some cannolis or profiteroles, the Gelato here is very good, but a place this good deserves a more robust dessert menu. As good as this place is, I think we have probably not seen all the great things they can do. In a town infested with lousy pizza like Dominos and Blaze, and peppered with mediocre places like Coal’s and Mellow Mushroom, this place stands at the top of the heap as Louisville’s best, and we finally, after years of hungrily yearning, have a top notch pizza joint in Louisville !
John Thornton
When it comes to pizza all that really matters is the dough and sauce. They have the dough down pat as well as the cooking of the dough and the sauce is good as well, but that depends on your taste in sauces. Although for the size of the pizza I feel it's a little on the higher end although it is Wood-Fired which is hard to find. There needs to be a kids menu/drinks if they want to expand revenue through more customers who would like to bring their kids. Unless kid's aren't something they welcome. Which is something i suspect.

My wife and I decided to dine here on New Years Eve for the " Feast of Seven Fishes". Overall the experience was good. There are a few things that made me give it a 3 star rating. When we first arrived there were two open booths. We asked to sit in a booth and we were told that those were reserved. We had made reservations, but I guess we didn't specify that we wanted a booth. We were there for over two hours and neither of those booths were occupied the whole time we were there. The chairs we sat in were hard and after two hours extremely uncomfortable. We must have been sitting directly under a speaker, for the music was loud and seemed to me unfitting. It appeared to be music from the 1920’s; not blues or jazz, but the type that reminded me of the cartoon of the frog singing “hello my baby…”. Extremely irritating to endure during an expensive, and lengthy, meal. On to the food. The first course was Sable fish Tonnato. It tasted very good. It had a large caper berry in the middle of it and I didn't quite know what to do with that. The second course was a Cioppino. This was an excellent dish. The only thing that was missing was bread. We asked our waitress if they had any, and she stated that they were not serving any bread for this meal. In my opinion this was a big mistake. It is a Neapolitian pizza place. How hard would it have been to serve bread; I think it definitely would have complemented several of the courses. The third course was Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca. This dish was also very good. I really enjoyed the black squid ink spaghetti and the calabrian chili peppers. It was seasoned well and tasted delicious. The fourth course was one of my least favorites. It was Smelts Fritti. They were supposed to be cornmeal-fried smelt. There was very little cornmeal and the dish was very bland. The fifth course was Baccala. These were very tasty and I found all the ingredients worked well together. The sixth course was Broccolini. This was also one of my least favorites. I didn't know if this was supposed to be served hot or cold. Unfortunately, mine was somewhere in between. I had one bite and that was all I could stand. The final course was the Sardine Salad. The salad was very good, everything tasted delicious, except the piece of sardine, which was tough and did not taste good at all. It seemed that the sardine was added to get that seventh fish course; it really didn't belong on the plate. After the seventh course, we were served some Neopolitan ice cream. I made the mistake of starting on the end that had a lot of salt on it and it ruined the ice cream experience for me. When I got the check and with the tip, this was an expensive meal. Everything considered, I don't feel like it was worth it. It wasn't a bad experience, but it could have been much better. This was my first time eating at Pizza Lupo. I am willing to try their regular menu, but with all the good restaurants in Louisville, I am not sure I would go out of my way to do so.
Kentucky Keys
Pizza LUPO has some of the most enjoyable pizza I have eaten in Louisville. I had the Sting Like a Bee pizza and it blew me away! I also tried their oysters on a half shell and it was delicious.
Katrina Porter
Service, ambiance, ordering experience, and especially the PIZZA 🍕 is top notch! Don't sleep on Pizza Lupo!
Anne Gauthier
Everything is made in-house, at v reasonable prices for the quality. They also have seasonal pizza (ie squash, zucchini flowers!), haven't had the pasta but the charred eggplant one looks delicious, excited to try it next time. I love all american style pizzas but I'm a bit snobby w the thin crust ones being lucky enough to have visited italy a couple of times, and i can say this pizza is amazing and very close to what i would get there, def the best ive had in louisville. Beautifully renovated building, comfortable, fancy and not pretentious atmosphere all at once!
Redline Ransom
The pizza and beer is tops. The hot sauce is freaking killer good too! If you love friendly rock and rollers from a little kinda cowboy music band, this place is where you need to get some killer wood fire pizza!
Melissa Banks
We've already had a LOT of food from their menu and it's all fantastic. They mainly do wood-fired pizza and handmade pastas, but don't overlook their appetizers and desserts! Chef Max introduces some really special ingredients to his creations and co-owners Sarah and Adam have orchestrated a cozy and sociable dining environment. The food borders on fine-dining but you won't find anything on the current menu over $16. The cocktails are simple but delicious, the building is gorgeous, and the desserts from Chef Sunshine are soooo yummy. Take a few friends, order at least 1 thing from each section of the menu to share, and be prepared for a great night at LUPO!
Emily Brooks
I am always looking for the go to restaurant to recommend o out of town guests and this is definitely the one. The food and drinks were incredible, as was the service and ambiance. I look forward to trying everything on the menu. This is certainly not just another pizza place- it's ruined me on other pizza.
Robert Ahlers
Best pizza in louisville! …Since mellow mushroom left :(
Tiffany Woodard
Came with my kids and had a great dinner. The menu is thoughtful and the drinks are delicious. Everyone was very friendly and those booths are SO comfortable!! Way better than Bar Vetti IMO
Michael Kerrigan
Lupo makes the best pizza in Louisville, its not really close, and that's the story. Great people too, give them a try if you haven't yet!
Jonathan Boggs
Okay, so I did it. I ate the whole menu. I did it for all of you and I want you to know it was worth it. From appetizers like the Baccala, a fried salt-cod fritter with the thoughtful inclusion of currants and pine-nuts, through the fresh-made pastas like the agnolotti (beautiful little purses of eggplant and ricotta), to the ever-changing cookie plate, the flavors are bright and punchy and the plates are never boring. The space is cozy but still able to accommodate large parties at a smartly oriented communal table, while intimate meals can be held in a booth or table. A great place to have a delicious meal in a comfortable setting!
emily mitchell
Had a great experience at Lupo, I'm so glad to have authentic Neopolitan pizza and homemade pasta in Louisville!
We tried a little of everything on our first visit - cocktails, wine, two pizzas, a pasta, and dessert. Everything was top notch. Really enjoyed sipping the playfully named Spaghetti Western cocktail and the dry Lambrusco was a perfect compliment to the char on the pizza. The eggplant agnolotti was incredible. I'll never be fooled by boxed pasta again now that I know what the real deal tastes like. Normally I'll go back to a pizza place if they can get 2 out of 3 elements on point (crust/sauce/toppings), but Lupo nailed all 3. Crust was perfectly chewy, the sauce tangy, and inventive toppings (think spicy honey and spressata) of obvious quality. The chocolate budino we ordered as a "why not?" but it ended up being a dish I'll crave many a night in the future. Smooth and rich with a creamy orange-y drizzles and some candied nut crunch. I could have eaten a shameful number of servings.
Top everything off with friendly service, a vet cool space, and a chill vibe and you have my new go-to restaurant. Can't wait to see what else they decide to showcase!
Blair Boden
Great food for the third time! Maegen was wonderful. The red pizza sauce is amazingly flavorful, but so is the béchamel. Quality is clearly evident, and try the cookie plate. We loved every bite!
Rob Bruce
Absolutely delicious pizza. Great cocktails, fun environment. Waitress was spectacular, and gave some recommendations for breakfast the following day.
Pat Zapf
We went to Pizza Lupo in March of 2019. My husband and I still talk about this pizza. We plan to return to Louisville specifically to eat here again. 10/10 recommend. Some of the best pizza we have ever had.
Will Ready
Amazing! New favorite pizza place in town. The "Sting Like a Bee" pizza is unique and delicious, and the vegan Margherita pizza is great, too.
Matthew Tewell
Best pizza in town. Hands down. The dough is simply unmatched. Can taste the quality ingredients. Order now.
Sally W
Just discovered Pizza Lupo after an afternoon just down the street at Waterfront Botanical Garden. The food was wonderful. We tried the mezze platter, a roasted+toasted pizza, and gelato. The pizza dough/crust was just awesome. Highly recommend.
jason rubino
Absolutely brilliant. Last night marked my third visit. Fried Smelts = perfectly crisp with a light batter. Mussels = I really can't even say enough about how good these were. I'll just leave it with...I almost blacked out. Pizza = once again...I'm dead...so delicious, perfect, inventive, creative, pallet orgasmic stuff. Go there and eat. Drink a pitcher of negroni that's meant for 4 by yourself, and eat for four hours. Then take an uber home and revel in the majesty.
Whitney Sewell
Awesome date night for us: rode bikes along the riverfront trail and then refueled with some classic cocktails and quality carbs at LUPO - Bean Salad and Clam Pizza were gorgeous and good!!!! Service was so sweet. We're looking forward to coming back.
Julie Kaelin
Had dinner and drinks at the bar last night and everything was PERFECT. I’ve had many fine meals in my life and this one was up there with the best. Had the gnudi and the roasted + toasted. Finished the evening with house limoncello. Service was impeccable.
Cory Martin
Don't miss out on this gem. Pizza is outa this world. The drink selection is fantastic and the cocktails are made well.
Philip Woods
Fantastic pizzas and pasta, and roast vegetables to die for! One of the best pizza restaurants I've eaten in (including Italy). Ambience is great and the staff really friendly and helpful.
Lizzie Jones
I have no clue how I missed this Gem!!!! And right down the street from us... went there today, they've been open the for a year! Great service, awesome pizza, and lots of other menu options if you're not interested in pizza.
Jason Rubino
Truly my favorite pizza of all time, and I grew up with the ninja turtles. Pre-pandemic pizza was amazing, and the new recipe, making larger pizzas for carryout, is just as good!
Sean Cannon
You can tell Lupo cares about pizza. They do every part of the process right, and the results show it. They have some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
Rob Smith
Went to Lupo's for birthday lunch with my parents. Had the Wood Fired Oysters and two pizzas- Bitter Pig and Salsiccia. My Dad said it was the best pizza he ever had and he is short on compliments. Nice job guys!
Grace Ballard
At the risk of hyperbole, I’m going to say it: this may be the best pizza I have ever had. Do yourself a covid favor and order carry out from Lupo every week. These pizza genies must survive! We need them.
Groce Family Farm
The pizza is perfect. The atmosphere is quirky while being entirely pleasant and welcoming. Everyone is kind and very good at what they do.
Mary Mackey-Paulsen
Drove from Bloomington, IN to try it. Love pizza; LOVE this place!! Food was excellent. Drinks were perfect. Well worth the drive & look forward to making the trek again soon!!
MaryLiz Bender
Incredible atmosphere, wonderful service, and great prices. They have tons of great options for vegetarians and, while they don't have a gluten-free pizza, they offer many Celiac-friendly, very tasty plates to choose from!
Kevin McCauley
Food (wood fired pizza, braised cauliflower in a spicy marinade and wood fired oysters) were all nicely prepared and flavorful. The ambiance was that of most NuLu locations, as the facility had a nice remodel and decor.
Katy Hardy
Overall, had a wonderful meal here and our service was great. All of the dishes were fresh and delicious and thoughtful creations I hadn't encountered before. We'll definitely be back.
Joe Wishon
Excellent pizza. Excellent salad. Excellent service. This is a fantastic addition to Louisville and this pizza spot would shine in any city in the world!
Jaxon Swain
Best Neapolitan pizza in three states. Amazing cocktails, wine, and very comforting old school menu. Amaro flights for the win!!!

Alex Dodge
The food here is really amazing. They have a real wood fired oven, and the pizza dough is the best I've ever had. Really incredible.
Drew Thiemann
A mixture of intimate booths and family tables in an off-the-beaten-path old brick neighborhood. Colorful cocktail menu and staff who knows what's up. Our favorite Friday night treat.
Kelly E. W.
Great atmosphere and more importantly, great food! Definitely ask what the special is - although you can't go wrong with one of their usuals. The Sting Like a Bee is a must.

Wayne Sartin
The best thin crust pizza in Louisville!!
Josh Gregory
High quality ingredients, unique toppings, good service. What more can you ask for. Be sure and try the sting like a bee--pizza topped with with local honey.
Virginia Pollitt
I'm sad to leave a review because I don't want other people to find this gem, but I have to give a deep bow for legit wood fired pizzas, decent wine selection (small but precise choices) and fantastic atmosphere.
Scott Kohanowski
This is a Louisville gem. The nice lady at the donut shop recommended Lupo this morning and it did not disappoint. Delicious cocktails, pizzas and antipasto. And the gelato!
RobG
Best pizza in town! What a great conglomeration of family, food, and love. Highly recommend, 10/10, will smash this pizza again.
Matt Rasche
Crust was very good and required you to fold the slices over to keep them together.
Kent Hall
I would recommend it for all friends; I thoroughly enjoyed myself, interesting menu, excellent neapolitan crust. Delicious gelato. Clever drinks. Superb in every way. 😏 …

Decent pizza. A little pricey. I miss New York pizza. I’d like a crisper, thinner, plainer crust with a cornmeal bottom.

Great pizza and salads!

Food is excellent as always. Not to happy about the extra charges for the parmesan cheese and chili oil. Also wine prices are a little too high
Andy Lowe
Great food and great beer selection. Not a huge beer list, but all quality. Some of the best oysters I've had in town.

Pizza Lupo fits in the top 10 Louisville pizza places, but oddly not primarily for its pizza. Three of us decided to give this place a try and found its pizza, although good, didn't make the top spots for the city. We found them a bit too lacking in toppings, (half the pie was crust), and all three were definitely fork eating... too runny and toppings sliding off for hand consumption.
That said, the oysters, specifically the wood fired, were the stars of our dinner. Definitely some of the best I've ever had! They also had a decent drink menu with a wide selection of unique wines and some really good house cocktails. The NA mule (made alcoholic of course), is highly recommended!

I've never felt inclined to leave a review before, so this is my first, but I was kind of disappointed in Pizza Lupo. The food was good but I've read other reviews mentioning the same issue, so thought I'd reiterate. I've eaten in restaurants all over the Europe for the last ten years of my life and I've never once felt unwelcome, even in my backpacking early 20s phase of life. Leave it to my own hometown to make me feel unwelcome for bringing a baby with me. They don't have high chairs, (which... what??) so we had to hold him the entire time, and when we dropped his bottle because we were trying to simultaneously eat and feed him, the waitress literally looked down and stepped over it instead of offering to help. Completely bizarre. I really wanted to like it, but after feeling like I didn't belong, just for having a tiny human with me, I don't know if I'll be back. At this point I'll stick with The Post, who is super friendly and just as good.
I wish them well and think the food was good, I just want others to be aware there are no high chairs and that we had a less than friendly experience.
Drae Robinson
Absolutely delicious gourmet pizza, cocktails are fantastic, super fast service. This is one of the best restaurants in Louisville.
Daniel Jefferson
People really don’t appreciate a sourdough crust like they should. The crust is outstanding. Comes out hot- eats best with fork and knife while hot. The leftovers taste even better as all the flavors intensify on the ride home in a to-go box.
The new Sfincione pizza is our new fav and I hope they keep it on the menu.
Lisa Strause
Great pizza, very unique

(Translation) To be in the U.S pizza is a real Italian pizza. I recommend margherita with buffalo ... even the pasta is not bad.
Unfortunately there is no service to order at the table, you have to do it directly at the cashier. (It would be better to specify)
Compared to the "pizza lupo" chains it is different.

Per essere in U.S la pizza è una vera pizza all'italiana. Consiglio margherita con bufala…anche la pasta non è male.
Purtroppo non c'è il servizio per ordinare al tavolo, devi farlo direttamente alla cassa. (Sarebbe meglio specificarlo)
Rispetto alle catene "pizza lupo" è differente.

(Translation) Without a doubt the best pizza I've had in Louisville, excellent place and excellent service, recommended.
