Reviews of Milantoni Italian Restaurant

WOW... Great food.. this place has a very cozy atmosphere.. good staff.. and for a small place wait time wasn't bad.. The food... BIG portions.. you won't leave hungry.. I had the fettuccine Alfredo (pictured) my partner had calzon also pictured... Again for a Saturday night The wait wasn't bad... And promise it's well worth the wait

Outside appearance does not compare to the experience inside! Brittany (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) greeted, seated and waited on my husband and me promptly. We ordered the Bruschetta de Milantoni as our appetizer, which was the perfect texture and so tasty. Our entrees included Catalina Florentine (suggested to me by “B” when I told her what I was deciding between), and Mediterraneo. Both dishes were served hot, in good time, and we were blown away by portion size and how delicious they were; my mouth is still watering! Not only did my husband and I have leftovers from our entrees, we ordered a Cannoli and 16” White Pizza Pie (w/o tomatoes) to go! What a delightful establishment- quaint and friendly with mood setting Italian music playing in the background. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Every meal I’ve had at Milantoni has been excellent. Just left dinner with my wife. Two wonderful entrees, live violinist, wine, and limoncello. Remodeled to perfection. Ignore any bad reviews…they simply are wrong. Don’t worry about the lack of a real entrance from Hurstbourne. This place is a pleasant surprise every single time. Reasonable prices as well.
Bryan Henson
Good sized portion for the cost. Everything was nice and hot. Nice little local shop as an alternative option from driving really far for some place bigger.

One of my absolute favorite Friday night haunts! Never disappoints. They have a violinist who plays while you eat on Friday nights he is wonderful..The have recently remodeled and it is looking fantastic. The food is always amazing. The fettuccine and red sauce both are top notch. So any dish you have from chicken to seafood to pizza are great. The staff are always friendly and helpful! We return again and again. My family loves this.place! ❤️

The server we had seemed to be very inexperienced, however with some potential. The server was very polite and pleasant. Calzone was very large and good tasting. Although my wife's salad and meal came out at the same time and she was about half way through her meal before mine came out.

We love this place! Its great for lunch and dinner family or date night food is amazing and love the sangria! Must try!
Dada's Girls (Chocolate Thunda)
Super cute restaurant!! The staff was so friendly , very warm and inviting. This was my first time visiting and the only reason i took a star away is because i felt rushed to get my order. I had my 4 kiddos with me so it took a little while to figure out what to eat. But othe than that the food was very delicious and fresh. I will definitely come back.

A warm, charming Italian restaurant tucked away behind the highway, Milantoni is a good place for a meal. When you enter the restaurant, you feel like you're in a warm, welcoming place that's ready to serve you, as music plays and you get a look at the hanging Mona Lisa portrait above the register. After having come in today for the first time, I was treated kindly by a good waiting staff, and supplied with pretty decent food. A plate of bread sticks with marinara was provided to the table, as shown in the picture below. I tried the Tri-Colored Tortellini, which was good. I will be back to try some other options, such as the spaghetti in the future!

First let's start with the service it was awesome. It was not overbearing but did not forget about us either. The food was just amazing. I might rank this as the best Italian I have had in the area. The only thing close is the comeback Inn in Jeffersonville. I had the pepper onion and sausage pasta, my wife took the tour of Italy, and the kids got pizza. The pizza was great, tasted homemade. The sauses were mine blowing, and my wife said the lasagna was mind blowing good. I highly recommend this place.

We went on for my birthday. It was on Friday night. The violinists serenaded us while we ate dinner and my husband requested him to play happy birthday to me and he did! The food was large portions and fresh. We will return.

I’ve eaten here many times and it’s always amazing. However, this was my first time ordering takeout from them. My family and I were highly disappointed in the portion sizes. The veggie primavera I got was delicious but barely had any pasta.
Dereck De J
At home atmosphere even when busy they managed to serve well. The food alone is reason enough to wait its not cookie cutter Olive Garden food. It's all made fresh from scratch taste is amazing a nice surprise for our evening. It handicapable accessible and a family friendly environment.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Louisville.
Don't let the outside appearance fool you.
What's on the inside is great food and terrific service.
The menu gives you a lot more choices of Italian food than the more expensive restaurants in the area.
I ordered the Tour of Italy and it was enough food for two. Needless to say I had plenty of leftovers for later.
The quality of the food is really great. The prices on the menu are really great as well.
If you decide to eat in, call first for availability.
Once inside be prepared to wait just a little while because the food is made to order, which is a good thing. Your pasta was not sitting in Luke warm water for hours and your sauce wasn't getting charred on the bottom.
Be sure to check out their $5.99 lunch specials during the week days!
Issac Catching
Nice little spot! Received good service (went during low traffic around 4pm) and staff were friendly.
Only downside is they are still working on their alcohol license so no wine with your meal. From there it's all upside. Menu with plenty of classics with some customization allowed. I had the veal carbonara which was as creamy and robust as could be. Followed by great tiramisu (very moist which is key).
I will definitely return and would be a nice outing with family.
Cristen Kearney
If I had known the area it was in I wouldn't have gone, but when I got there I was so hungry I figured I'd give it a try. Nothing outstanding but I have had much worse. I would not go again.
The bread seemed to be basically a buttered pizza crust with a little parsley and parm.
The baked ziti was pretty solid, sauce was a little salt heavy but I'm salt sensitive so that may just be me.
Overall the experience wasn't the best, but I wouldn't tell anyone to not give them a shot.
Joseph Nixon
This place is delicious. Wife got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and it was the best I've ever tasted. Her grandpa and I each got a calzone. Way bigger than expected, and delicious.
Definitely recommend.
James Young
Today was the first time I’ve eaten here& it definitely won’t be the last. I had the spinach calzone for lunch. I was impressed with the quality & flavor. Not just of ingredients but the freshness of the dough was superb.
Jerry Miller
Good Italian food (though out of lasagna), but very slow service. Manager (owner?) and waitress (1st day on job) struggled to keep up. Another time might be better.
David Smith
First time here. Came for lunch. Excellent food and excellent prices. One tea and two of the specials: Ziti and Combo Calzone... $16.40! The calzone was HUGE and tasty. The ziti could use some more zing to it, but red pepper flakes helped. Service was fine. Staff was amiable. Highly recommended. The only thing to make it better... if they served beer and wine. They said it was coming.
Well… Beer and wine came (even when your food may not). The service at Milano, sadly, is mostly terrible. I’ve been in and just never gotten my food when the rest of the table did. I had to cancel my order. I’ve been in when it has taken 2 hours to get food. The servers generally not very pleasant, don’t engage at all, never offer suggestions, and don’t (or pretend not to) understand anything you say. They really don’t care if you’re there or not, it seems. They’ll refill your unsweetened with sweet tea over and over again. The food is still very good and reasonably priced (why we keep going back). Portions are large.
My five star initial review from when they first opened has dropped to a three due to customer care. May even should be a two for that.
Steve Durr
The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu; every question answered to satisfaction.
Appetizers came out in good time followed by salads then entrees, all spaced appropriately and not rushed.
Food was fresh, made to order.
Had a very nice evening and looking forward to our next visit.
Bruce Brents
Great place to take your love to for lunch or dinner
Tim Curry
Great experience, the food was Awesome, the prices were very competitive and our waitress was Awesome. Definitely going back.
Mrs Thacker
The food was good and very reasonably priced. Our waiter, Farhad, was really nice. The violinist was incredible!
Robert Schweitzer
Great local spot - the outside looks sketchy but it is a hidden gem. Fresh garlic bread is handed to you. We ordered eggplant parmesan and lobster ravioli- delicious! Big portions. Fairly priced food.
Amber Hubbard
Everything was amazing and tasted homemade. The owner was so nice and the service was amazing. When we come to Louisville we will be back. The portions were huge and the food and service was impeccable. The bathrooms were very clean also.
Shelby R
This is one of my absolute favorite little Italian joints. The food is always great (and very affordable). The staff is super friendly and they have an adorable, cozy aesthetic. I highly recommend!
Lear Foster
Had dinner here tonight and it was great! Staff was very friendly and prompt with our meals. Portions are huge, so be ready to eat alot!!
Kim Hay
Pictured is Gamberi Taverna, diced shrimp with garlic in pink sauce (marinara and creme). $15. Very flavorful. Served at correct temperature. Server was very attentive.
Dan Jackman
Some of the best Italian food. Live music really set the mood and made it a special experience
Dawn Sizemore
I really enjoyed the violinist that was playing tonight it was a different atmosphere that I really enjoyed but my favorite thing of the whole restaurant honestly was the statue by the side door now I wish I would have taken a selfie with him LOL but I did manage to sneak one by his self.
I did feel like it took a super long time for my order I don't know if they're short staffed or something else but for to go order I feel like it should have been a little bit more timely.
Lori Brown
Good food great service freshly prepared. And they have a drive thru!
Eva Crawford
Absolutely amazing! Service and food..... love love love!!!!
Our family has been there multiple times and we have not had anything that we didn't love, from wine, appetizers, entrees to dessert.
The crew is always so welcoming and makes us feel like family. Friday nights the violinists is such a wonderful touch. Very reasonably priced. Enjoy!
Adam Adams
Moved to a different table violinist was to loud. The pasta was great
Tracy Paquette
Quiet elegant restaurant, good prices great food. Hard to find entrance behind not so great gas station.
pam powwers
Friday nights an amazingly talented violinist plays a wonderful selection of dining music. A glass of Merlot, delicious pasta, and soothing music made my night. I highly recommend this friendly, family restaurant.
Abraeshea Moorman
After reading the reviews of the restaurant I was hectic to give this place a try but my husband wanted something different so we decided to give it a chance. The place to my surprise was very tidy and clean. We were greeted at the door on arrival by a very polite very enthusiastic waitress who sat us immediately and got our drinks and menus and gave us a few moments to look over our menus. She got us bread and drinks shortly after and not long after we finished our bread our food arrived. The portion size of our meal was very generous and the food was nothing lesss than phenomenal. I must say anyone who has been here who has had any issues should give it another shot they have really stepped up and made a difference in service, We will definitely be going back regularly.
Matthew Conover
Completely renovated- terrific food! A must for people who like to eat local!
andrew spence
Great little family owned and operated restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Portions are huge. We ended up taking half home with us. A++
Sarah Judson
I haven't enjoyed dining out as much as I did at Milantoni's in quite some time. The food was amazing with generous portions, fresh ingredients and the flavors were perfection.
The owner Ivan and server Christina made a point to actually sit and talk about our experience. They were both extremely friendly and great to talk to. Atmosphere was quaint,, charming and comfortable.
I hope they know they have a new regular!!
Lisa Hunter
This by far is the best Italian food I’ve ever had!! The Alfredo was delicious and the chicken Parmesan was cooked just right. However, our server was very nice but could’ve been more professional. We didn’t need to know the previous customers didn’t tip her and she used a lot of profanity in the restaurant. That could’ve been why they didn’t tip her. Other than that she was nice and the food was amazing which is why I still rated it 5 stars.
Klover 1998
There needs to be signs that properly show that there is a drive through and that's where the dashers need to be. I sat in store for a good 30 minutes waiting for an order that had been put in about 15 minutes before I had arrived. My customer was rather upset about the wait. While the food smelt great I cannot comment until I try it myself. The atmosphere of the interior design was nice, a dim lighting to set the mood. Loved the violinist that was playing but for such a small building I would recommend turning it down a bit. Everyone is right there. I also recommend for when a dasher is in the building you make that a priority rather than walking around them or standing at the counter when you aren't helping any in building customers. I sat confused for the first 10 minutes because the waitress would just look at me and continue what she was doing.
Kelly Tharp
First class tasty food at coach prices! This place is a no Brainerd for Italian fare.
Deborah Luckett
Very nice restaurant. Everything is made fresh each day. Health Dept rating 100%. Food is very good.
Melanie Rudolph
I had the baked spaghetti ($8.99) with 2 sides of Alfredo sauce. ($1.98 for each side) It was not clear on the menu that the marinara sauce was $1 extra as I’ve never been to any Italian restaurant that they charge for the basic sauce. The sauce price is usually included in the cost. The breadsticks were a bit dry. Though overall, I enjoyed my meal and I would recommend. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Nice vegetarian meal option.
Caroline Long
Such a great new spot Louisville. Everything is homemade and the sauce is amazing. The family couldn't be sweeter. We cannot wait to go back!
Rabia Shaik
We got shrimp fettuccine, a slice of veggie pizza, and tiramisu. The breadsticks were given in house for dine-in.
I loved the fettuccine pasta! The Alfredo wasn’t too thick or creamy, and the pasta itself was really tasty. The veggie pizza was okay, but the slice is pretty big. It’s definitely enough for one. The breadsticks were okay, and they tasted better with the delicious marinara sauce they came with. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious! I love that the tiramisu doesn’t have alcohol in it. It wasn’t too bitter or too sweet.
The restaurant itself is cozy (we sat at a booth by the window) and they have a live violinist on Friday nights. Our server, Carla, was really helpful!
Kim Tabler
The service and food at Milantoni is consistently fantastic! We eat here regularly and are always pleased - so yummy!
Vita Williams
Came here for lunch and had an amazing experience. Ordered pepperoni pizza and chicken fettuccini Alfredo. The sauce on the pizza was delicious. The pasta wasn't dry and came out perfect. Everything came out hot and fresh. The waitress was pleasant. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Andrea Soergel
We were visiting Louisville from out of town and tried Milantoni. There were so many things on the menu that sounded good that we asked our server for her recommendations and she nailed it. Our food was delicious and the service was great. Special thanks to Kristianna(so? 😂) for being awesome. …
John Don
After seeing the negative reviews my wife and I were hesitant to give it a try. I am extremely happy he did, the service was great very friendly and prompt the portion sizes were the perfect amount our server christina was very friendly. The food was delicious the chicken parm was very yummy and the house bread was delicious anytime I'm in Louisville this will be one of my first stops.
Himanshu Patel
Good and fresh food with best service. No complaints or problem there. It is pleasant and welcoming.
Some issue they can take care of first hand - for five star ratings are -
1. Chef / Cook need to be more careful. There is hair in Food. We wasn't only customer with that complain.
2. Tables are not set properly. They are wobbly.
3. Food can be cooked little more would be great.
Server and Manager are good.
If mentioned problem will be taken care, I can try again. But for now it is good Italian Restaurant with significant issues.
John Phillips
I can't review this yet because I haven't ate there yet. But it's on the menu!! Everything sounds good so far, just was trying other places first. And repeaters we are. If their good!! See you all soon. I don't even know why they ask me about this place. I haven't even been in the parking lot.
Marlene S
The food was good, and the service excellent. We will go back.
Beth Pritchard
Not bad, overall, but overpriced for the quality of the food. Everything was kind of bland with no spice or seasoning. Italian food doesn't have to be hot, but does need to have more flavor.
The check came to just under $70 for three of us, no alcohol.
The staff was friendly and the food came out fast, so that was good.
Tim Graviss
I usually love Milantoni food but this time it was very disappointing. I ordered ahead and it stated an hour to pickup. I arrived and had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get. I ordered Shrimp Fettuccine and the shrimp tasted like they were petite shrimp, frozen and very rubbery. The sauce was great. The meat ravioli was 3 small ravioli's over a whole a lot of spaghetti. The calzone was good. It was disappointing to receive 2 dishes out of 4 that were not good. I will try the restaurant again hopefully with tastier food.
Sarah Erhart
This place is a hidden gem. Our waitress was amazing!! The food was perfect and you can tell it's fresh. My husband had the cheesecake and we both were in heaven. I am not typically a marinara sauce fan, but I couldn't get enough of anything they offered. The waitress we had was kind and running the whole floor by herself. She was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. We left full and happy and are definitely coming back!
Dylan Mingus
Friendly staff, decent food. Prices are a little high for the quality of the food, but a nice ambience makes up for it.
FOC
Extremely slow service. No one was at door to greet you/seat you. Very understaffed, which is unfortunate. Hope things turn around soon
Sue Montgomery
I was more than pleased. The food hit the spot. The servers were courteous, polite and knew their job as they did it well. The musician entertained as the music was very relaxing. I will definitely try it again.
Tom Ball
after Covid, Milantoni remains a real treat. Prompt and friendly service, very clean. Plus the taste of real Italian tomatoes comes thru and speaks of the quality and goodness of home cooking. Go a step beyond fast food and see what you have been missing. Besides, it's good to support local!
Laurie Wilmes
We've always had great food at Milantoni and great service as well. Just because we couldn't dine in due to Covid circumstances didn't change that this time. The food is made to order so we expect a little longer wait but still had our food within an hour for an order for six people with appetizers. Order at the restaurant directly and they can customize your plate! They didn't have the specific thing I wanted on the menu but could adapt another dish accordingly and it was fantastic! It is one of our go-to places for Italian in Louisville!
Elizabeth Fick
We tried Milantoni for the first time last night- ordered carry out for our anniversary dinner. The tri-color tortellini and fettuccine were very good. The cannoli for dessert was excellent!
Kimberly Albers
Such a beautiful set up! The vibe is so relaxed, the food is absolutely delicious, the prices are very affordable and the staff are so inviting! Its like being part of the family as soon as you walk through the door! The decor reminds me of Bella Italia in Washington. The owner even came out and had a conversation with me, and the waitress was so funny and sweet! I could keep going on, but this place truly is amazing. 10/10 would recommend, and will be going back again!
Jeff Seigler
This is my first visit here. I am very picky about Italian restaurants in the U.S. as I lived in Italy for 3 years, while serving in the Navy.
I absolutely loved my lunch here! The Caprese was excellent: firm, fresh tomato slices; excellent, smooth mozzarella; and just the right amount of olive oil, aged balsamic and salt.
I also had the Italian Sausage and Peppers dish, with fettuccine pasta. It was very good! Slightly too much sauce for me (that's just a personal preference), but the sauce was very good. Not too salty or too much basil or oregano, like many Italian restaurants do. The sausage, peppers and onions were fresh and tasty.
I cannot adequately rate the service as there were only 3 tables being served and 2 servers. But the service I had was excellent.
I will definitely be back! Overall an excellent gem!
Bill Wigginton
On Father's Day, I dined here with my wife. The food is incredible. If you love Italian food, especially pasta, then this is a must visit restaurant. I would rate the food close to five stars, but the service was very slow and the interior needs updating. I highly recommend a visit for the food, but if you prefer to take out, they have pickup window.
ROSE PACI
Food was excellent. Staff was friendly. Place was clean and charming.
Cindy Hutter
Delicious! Everything we ordered was great! The calamari was lightly breaded and fried perfectly. The homemade garlic bread and marinara dipping sauce was perfect. Portions are huge and we can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. Baked spaghetti and meatballs was awesome. My hubby had the meat ravioli and cleaned his plate completely. Mother in law had the lobster ravioli and she loved it. (Shes hard to please sometimes) she had more than enough to take home for lunch.
Christian Reid
Apps, main course, and dessert were amazing! The best was the violinist that played everything! I mean everything Despacito, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, eye of the tiger, final countdown… I could go on!! Fantastic experience and I’m so happy we found this place while visiting Louisville!
Melanie Abner
If you leave here hungry then it is your own fault... Great food and alot of it!! Get you a glass of wine and unbutton your pants and dig in.. You will never regret it!!
Teresa Laval
Love this place! Great food and AMAZING prices. I always have leftovers, even with smaller orders. I wish they had a bigger location. They could easily be busier with more space. They recently got their liquor license and that's awesome! I highly recommend it! Wish they had someone designated to hosting and bussing, but that is up to management to fix. Please fix this because I think you lose some business when people aren't greeted or sat within a certain amount of time. I have been held up waiting for someone to bus a table for 20 minutes once. But I still give 5 stars because I want this place to succeed and the staff works VERY hard.
Debbie Simms
I am originally from the NE part of the US and have had a hard time finding the kind of Italian food that I loved growing up there, here in Louisville. This place is a winner. It is a very casual, stop in anytime kind of place. They have super inexpensive daily lunch specials and a full menu to choose from as well. I have never not liked anything I ate there. My go to is the pizza slice, it is huge! My husband has a restricted diet and they change things up to accommodate him, no problem. The wait staff hustles but don't seem very well trained in covering for each other so in my experience things can take a lot longer than probably necessary. Or maybe they are just short handed. That's my only negative for this place so give it a try. You'll like it!
R W
Food was excellent! Pizza slice is HUGE!
We will definitely come eat here again.
David Gossett
The food was great and the service fantastic. They were a bit overwhelmed with the number of carryout orders and let everyone in the restaurant know about it, but our service and the time to be served were not impacted at all. It was a great experience. We are looking forward to our next visit
Robin Swartzwelder
It’s a local, family owned restaurant. It was loud and chaotic, and the service was pretty terrible (which I attribute to not employing enough staff). But here’s the kicker - the food was amazing! It’s inexpensive, and the pasta, bread, sausages, sauces and deserts are made in-house. Entrees are made to order, including alfredo sauce. It was hands down the best Italian dish I’ve ever had. It was totally worth it, and because of that, our server rec’d more than 20%😊.
Dana Bodenheimer
The calzone was huge. The food was good overall. I'd definitely go back to try some other dishes.
Chris Fraser (ThatChr1s)
The food is always good. The wait staff could be better. The few times I've been there, the orders get messed up. Might be because the groups were more than 6 people at a time, but it really shouldn't be an issue. Maybe going with 1 or 2 other people will be a better experience. I'd still suggest giving it a go. You can tell they're trying.
Shannon Walters
I went here for lunch with a friend and things turned out good, but started off very slow. First of all, there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant and he was so overwhelmed and frazzled that we felt sorry for him. Raul was trying so hard, (by himself) to wait on tables, bus tables and stay on top of everything. They definitely need to hire more help, this wasn't fair to Raul, to put him in this situation. However, he made the best of it and provided us with great service. The sangria was very good, the cheese bread was delicious, and the pizza was fantastic. We ordered the tiramisu which was wonderful. I'm so glad Milantoni finally obtained their liquor license, but please hire more help. This is a great little Italian restaurant, but they aren't going to be around long unless they step up their game!!!
Adam Iannotti
The food here was absolutely delicious. Everything was hot and fresh and promptly delivered to our table. I don't usually write reviews, but this place warrants an exception. It is authentic Italian food and all of it is made from scratch using fresh ingredients. Even the salad dressings are homemade. I will definitely be returning to eat here again. On a side note, the physical location of the restaurant makes it a bit hard to get to, especially if you have to fight traffic, but it is totally worth it.
N L
I love this restaurant! I went on a Friday evening and was surprised to see a violinist setting the mood. Delicious food with a decent selection of pasta, seafood, chicken and pizza dishes. Great choice for a fun evening out that won't break the bank.
Julie Hilbert
We came in the weekend of Valentine's day on Sunday. There were quite a few tables full, but it was peak dining time. We were greeted and seated promptly, but the server told us he was the only server there at the time, but his coworker was due any minute, if we can be patient for a few minutes. We thought our late Valentine's day was in for a Rocky start. Nope, within minutes, 2 more servers appeared out of nowhere and not only did we get amazing service, they showed great teamwork, we also got amazing food! My chicken was soft as butter, my kid actually ate his dinner, which is rare, and I was sad to see my food was almost finished! We have been here a handful of times in the last few months and always get food and service which keeps us coming back. And their live music nights are classy and romantic.
Marvin Ambs
This was my brothers and their first visit here. We ordered and it appeared that the our entrees or much smaller than the plates and not substantial. That was deceiving, is my brother and I are both hearty eaters and the portion filled us up completely. In addition their desserts are excellent. Everything in this place is homemade. This is in a an old hamburger restaurant are only average, but their Taste of the food is excellent. I don't live in town I have not been back, but I will the next time I'm in
Darin Long
They were understaffed but Chloe did an incredible job. She was very pleasant and friendly. Our food was hot and tasty. Baked Ziti was unique and very enjoyable.

A nice surprise for me: Italian food is not on top of my go eats away from home. I totally enjoyed my shrimp scampi with red sauce- delicious! I ordered a take-out if lobster ravioli- I’m confident it’ll be amazing. My waitress Ruby was so welcoming- made me feel special. The Itslian music was a great vibe too.
Lauren Hall
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! The food is absolutely amazing! The only thing better than the food is the price of the food! The amount per serving is beyond generous. The garlic bread provided for free is delicious. We have been twice and ordered different entrees each time: lobster ravioli, ravioli el grande, manicotti, and chicken Parmesan. From our first trip, I learned that the pink sauce (mixture of marinara and Alfredo) was my long lost love. I requested the chicken parm with pink sauce and was not disappointed. It is my new favorite Italian dish. I highly recommend this restaurant! The service was great and atmosphere so cute!!
Sean Harrington
Very friendly staff and amazing food. Prices are perfect for what you get. The first time we went I had the spaghetti and my wife had the calzone. So much food that we had leftovers the next day. It was all so delicious. We've been back twice already!!
Cyrus Allen
Food was good. Service good. Not what we were used too when it comes to Italian but not the worst either. Only issue was we ordered cheese ravioli and got meat instead. Not a huge deal it kind of put a damper on the meal. If we ever go back to Louisville we would eat it again.

Simply can't say how perfect EVERYTHING was. Nice family environment, pleasant music, enchanting decor and a great value for the authentic Italian cuisine. My family now has a new favorite restaurant with "our own table".
You must give it a taste!
Lori Dremel
Exquisite. I've been to many restaurants, and many Italian restaurants, but this was by far one of the best, if not the best. There really are no words. It was perfection. I've had the baked spaghetti with meatballs - hot, flavorful, perfect amount of sauce, etc. And I've had the shrimp fettuccine. Creamy goodness, delicious shrimp. Go! You will not be disappointed!!!
George Sims
Service was excellent. Short handed but manager waited on us until more help arrived. 7 people, some really liked their order. My fettuccine was very dry and pasty with too much parmesan for my taste. Some noodles on top were hardened and discolored as if they had been microwaved.
D Dinsmore
I ordered carryout for the first time and tried meat ravioli which comes atop a bed of spaghetti. It was excellent. The portion size was huge. I especially liked the sauce. I ordered with a friend and they gave us a complimentary full size garlic bread. The only reason for 4 stars is the side of meatballs I ordered. It was said on the phone that these were 3 very large meatballs for 7.99. I decided to go ahead and try them. They were hardly the size of the small pre made variety at the grocery.
Taylor Wintz
This place is great. The food and the service are wonderful. We got pizza and mozzarella sticks and they were both delicious. Their prices are unbelievable for all our food and drinks it was only 24. Our waiter took such good care of us. Made sure our food was good and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. This is the best place to eat in Bardstown. Go eat here and you won't be disappointed.
Denise Jewell
Great value, great food. Although our Italian exchange student was disappointed in the pizza, because it is not at all like pizza from Italy, she says. Friendly service, but get there early because it is no longer a well-kept secret and it isn't very large. Location on Hurstbourne Lane is not convenient, but it is worth it.
Larry Vest
Stopped in here for lunch. It was our first time and it was awesome. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Loved it. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan (of course I tasted it too). Also great. The bread is really good too. We'll be back soon. This town needed some authentic Italian food! Thanks Milantoni's!
Jeff Grow
Our food was very good. Everything made to order and how you want it. It is hard to get in the drive if you are heading north on Hurstbourne or coming off the interstate but the extra process getting in the drive is worth it. They have gluten free, dairy free, and no onions in the food options which is rare in Italian food. They were very good at working with us since my financee has food allergies. If you try this place you will be coming back again and again. We have a new favorite restaurant.
Shane White
This is a great place, little hard to get to from the opposite side oh Hurstbourne. Turn in the gas station and cut thru. My family and I went my kids each got fettuccine Alfredo and gobbled it down, my wife got a calzone as big as her head. She couldn't finish it. I ordered some ravioli which was amazing. We finished it up with a cannoli and some tiramisu which was amazing. They didn't have any wine which was a let down for my wife but overall the food was perfect and the service was great. Will be back for sure. Everything was rich and flavorful and cooked to perfection.
Katie Cranston
Possibly the best Italian in the city. Great prices too. They were understaffed when we came, only 1 server in a packed restaurant and our service was reflected in this. I spent most of my meal without any water, however the food was so good and our waitress was so friendly it was not enough to keep us away. I just hope they are able to get more staff.
Jaclyn Berger
Visited because of a Be Our Guest gift certificate bought from WDRB online. The food was really great, and priced well! The service was okay. We had everything we needed, just felt like our server wasn't too educated on all menu items (drinks included); he was also very nervous. Rating based on food and service, not my opinion shared below.
I do not feel the restaurant design is doing the food any good. First impressions were an upscale Fazoli's. This wasn't the case when the food came out, but you wouldn't expect it just judging by the restaurant's look and interior design. There is definitely room for improvement in those areas. Also, there isn't much of a waiting area, and the host stand is across the restaurant from the entrance, which was a little confusing when entering. We made a reservation online and were seated right away.
One more thing, there were a couple of "hiring now" signs posted, which is fine, but they had spelling/grammar errors. So someone may want to spell check or have another person look them over before posting for the public. First impressions are everything for a restaurant to me, to eat or to work, and this one was lacking a lot of "wow" factors.
We will be back at least once more because we have another gift certificate. After that, I can't say for sure.

I ordered the Carbonara with chicken and angel hair pasta, Baked Ziti, Combo Calzone, Meat lovers Calzone and Italian style cheese bread. Everything was so delicious!! I ordered for my family of 4 so that we could try a little bit of everything. The Carbonara was perfect with just the right amount of chicken! You can tell the sauce is made from scratch in the ziti and the cheese was mouth watering! The calzones were huge and so flavorful! I come from an Italian family and I am so glad that I have found this place!!! Thank you!!!!
Julia Thompson
Very good food is homemade and you can definitely tell. Great service and friendly staff. Word is out on this place so consider reservations. Large portions and great price point. My favorite new Italian restaurant.
Nick M
Unfortunately I have to change my review because last night was a huge let down. I placed an order through Slice and it was to be ready at 4:50. On my way they notified me that it would be 5:15. I arrived around 5:10 and was told it would be 15 more minutes. It ended up being another 30 minutes. The girl said that they were closed and that their tablet was dead, etc etc bla bla bla. I can deal with waiting if the staff is friendly and the food ends up being correct and worth it. I had paid extra to add chicken to my wife's pasta. They forgot the chicken. There was no bread like they usually give you. My lobster ravioli was extremely watery and only had 2 ravioli in it (they were large though). This was not the service and quality that we usually get from here. If this was my first time getting food from here I wouldn't be back. I recommend this place to everyone I know looking for italian because the quality is amazing but this was a huge disappointment.
Annette Hoskins
Exceptional Italian cuisine! My daughter and I shared the Taste of Italy and it was amazing, the sauces are amazing. Definitely planning to visit again and I can’t wait to try the carbonara. I simply can’t say enough good things about the food.
Chris Kinberger
If you like Italian you'll love this place. Our waitress was very friendly and service was excellent. Great food with generous portions.
Megan Krupp
First time here tonight and it was very good! My dish was the Chicken Spinach Cannelloni which was delicious but very rich, I could only eat half! My friend got the lobster ravioli which was also very good! Hands down the best tiramisu I’ve had yet!! That was my favorite part 😋 We got water and salads and the free bread as well, and our bills were about $22 each.
Jeremy Rogers
We had dinner here and it was excellent. Prices are very fair, the food was way better than the national chain places, service was great, and we love supporting local business owners. If you like creamy dishes I highly recommend the Chicken cannelloni. My family will definitely dine here again.
Emir Dzankovic
Food was great, however the service took a very long time. We had a party of 5, the waiter brought drinks and breadsticks out very fast, and said he would be right back to take our order. He got very busy and kept walking past our table saying "I'll be right back" about 5 times. It took over 30 minutes just to get our order in. After we put our order in finally, it took about 15 minutes for our food to be ready. The restaurant was packed and some people even left before their order was taken. Seemed to be only 2 waiters for an entire packed lobby.
But food was great, calzones are huge!
Amber Spence
I really wanted to like this place and for it to taste like the authentic Italian food we got when living on the east coast but it just wasn't that. We ordered the lobster ravioli which I've heard so much about but it was sold out, so I settled for the tour of Italy to sample a few things. The alfredo was actually really good although a little on the heavy side. The lasagna wasn't good at all. And the chicken parm was decent
My issue lies in the red sauce. It was extremely heavy and concentrated, almost like tomatoes paste. And there was so much parsley in it, it was almost green instead of red. Definitely not a nice light sauvl e I was hoping for. Service was good and it's a cute little place. Just disappointed.
Dennis Hummel
Went on a Friday night. System seemed overwhelmed. Service inconsistent and rather amateurish. Out of wine suggested by server. Place looked unkempt with boxes stored in customer's view. Food was a solid C+ and portions adequate.
Kent Craig
Just absolutely delicious! Been twice, plan to go more. Chicken parmigiana was tender enough to cut with fork. Baked ziti too die for! Can tell owners put their efforts in the right places. To those that complain about the decor, I tell you go somewhere else. Yes, it used to be Wendy's. Food and service more than make up for the building.
Elaine Sidebottom
Food was delicious. Very limited bar. Plenty of beer, wine, but only bourbon and vodka. Easier to get to than expected. Dressing for ceasar salad did not taste like any I ever had before.
Antonio Cruz
We decided to try Milantoni's because we read a review on TripAdvisor that said they were able to make an Esselstyn compliant meal. This is important to us because this is how we eat and will always eat. There aren't many places capable of making such a meal. Esselstyn Compliant means whole food, plant based and oil-free. No meat or dairy products, nothing processed, enriched or bleached. No added or existing oils including lecithin, coconut, avocado or nuts. Everything we eat is fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. Nothing outside of those categories. This is something that isn't easy to wrap your mind around, so you can see our excitement when we hear that a place can accommodate us.
Suzanna was our server and she genuinely showed an interest in understanding our needs and I believe that she "GENUINELY TRIED" to get it right. With that being said the food was tasty. I don't think our pasta was whole grain and my sauce clearly had traces of oil rising to the top. They might not have added any oils but something clearly had existing oils in it. As I said, making a meal this way isn't easy to get right and Milantoni's will need to do some work before I can recommend them to our Esselstyn group.
The only thing I would recommend to anyone else is to ask for a wine list before ordering a glass of wine. We apparently ordered an $11.99 glass of wine because we didn't check the price first. But that's our fault and a lesson learned.
Anyway, if you don't have specialized dietary needs, I believe you will enjoy a meal at Milantoni's and I'd like to give a shout out to the violinist playing while we ate. Very pleasant entertainment.
Enjoy.
Mason Steele
Great food and great service!
My Spinach cheese calzone was the bomb. It was mega huge too. 😁
Update! They are now selling alcohol, for those that partake. 😉
In addition, they have become very personally active in providing meals to the local homeless. ☺
Lindsay
I gasped when I took my first bite of Pasta Milantoni. The alfredo sauce and fried chicken was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had! And the waitress was so funny and friendly!
Jacob Hansen
This place is amazing. I am very picky of my pasta and this place meets all my expectations. I love the service, the atmosphere and the food. A moderate bill for 2. With desert and drinks about $30 which is not bad especially for the amazing food all homemade, and is now one of my favorite restaurants out there
Pam Fackler
Quiet, friendly Italian restaurant with delightful dishes. Everything from pizza to the many different entrees. Food was fresh and hot. There is a children's menu and no alcohol served. Will definitely go back.
Raymond Becraft
The food was well worth the price. $24 for 2 meals with 2 drinks, and plenty of food came home with us. The bread here is really good, also the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend. Might want to make a reservation though. I didn't expect I would need a reservation, we got lucky they had an open table.
Barbara Taylor
Excellent freshly made light meals (we got 4 different dishes!) and the bruschetta is very authentic; the bread just melts in your mouth. Initially hesitant because the building and decor are off-putting...but the quality of the food, the prices, and the exceptionally friendly server more than made up for lack of ambiance! I’ll be back!
Julie Mills
Excellent food! I had the calzone, which was huge, delicious, and nicely priced at $8 for lunch. Service was a little slow. We were never offered drink refills, but they were busy and there was only one server. We'll definitely be back!
Aleeta Powe
My review is based upon 2 visits. This is a newly-opened (as of 6/18, its been about 7 months), family-owned restaurant. You can feel the friendliness and welcoming aura as soon as you cross the threshold. We were greeted and seated immediately.
The Homemade, complimentary bread was a little crispy on the outside, but gummy and dense (but not annoyingly so) on the inside. We really liked the texture and taste of it. It was served warm with marinara sauce before we even placed our order.
On the first visit, I had the chicken piccata over angel hair pasta. On my 2nd visit, I had the pizziaola calzone with added ricotta cheese. My GOD, both dishes were delicious! In addition to all the pasta, our server kept the warm bread coming to our table...at our request. I ate so much food that I thought my fiance would have to roll me out of the restaurant. When we prepared to leave, multiple restaurant workers thanked us for dining with them.
I liked mostly everything about the place. If I were to take off a star, it would be for the location...and maybe the decor. The location is difficult to access. You can only get to it by going south on Hurstbourne Pkwy. So, if you are going north on Hurstbourne, you need to use the I-64 W entrance to make a U-turn and access the restaurant. The decor seems a little dated, but we can tell that the owners are performing updates and renovations. Anyway, the delicious food and attentive, friendly service more than make up for it. I really like this restaurant and I will tell others about it.
Jen Zarate
I've been to Milantini's 6 or 7 times. I must say the food is delicious and a great value. I crave the alfredo sauce. The service on the other hand is a disaster. I have been there several times when it is busy and even if there are numerous open tables, the servers ignore you and do not seat you right away. So then you get stuck waiting in the doorway (there's not really a waiting area because the restaurant is poorly designed) and you awkwardly watch servers walk back and forth ignoring you.
One time a server asked us if we had been there before and when we said yes he said "ok good I hate explaining the menu." The waiter I had tonight was the worst of them all yet. He never brought us our bread that is complementary to every table. When my meal came out wrong he argued with me that it was how it's listed on the menu. I've had this same dish 3 other times so I know exactly how it's supposed to be made but he insisted I was wrong. We also tried to order a feta cheese salad tonight and they were out of feta cheese. We also asked for a drink menu and he said they forgot to renew their liquor license and can't serve alcohol right now.
This place is a mess. Terribly managed, servers look like they get zero training. It's never not chaotic in there. But the food is amazing and reasonably priced so I guess you have to pick what matters most to you.
In short, if you go to Milantoni's you're going to get grandma's cooking but you'll also get grandma's nephew who just got out of jail level of service.
Ken Kalmey
Sort of a new italian restaurant opening in the past 2 months. First time visit. Two previous restaurants at this location. The food was good but not WOW. Seemed the decorations were somewhat left over. That took a lot away from my voting stars. I suggest always give new places a try. I'll try one more time.
Bill Lacap
Just ate here with the family. I got the pasta Mila tino and it was absolutely amazing. Great sauce, chicken was perfect, and the portion was huge. My wife had the chicken cannelloni and it was very good too. The sauce was quite rich but I loved it. My kid had the kid’s pepperoni pizza and I was expecting something from a kid’s menu, but it was probavly the best pizza I’ve had in Louisville. All in all a great experience and will definitely be going back.
Sherriann Hamilton
Good food at a good price! Service wasn't over the top friendly, but it was fine. We got our food quickly and all orders were correct. Overall, I left with a full belly and no complaints!
Lauren Young
This small restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. To be honest, it doesn't look like much on the inside either. But, please don't be scared off or let this fool you. The food is absolutely delicious. All the sauces and doughs are made from scratch. Portions are large and you will take some home. Prices are reasonable and the staff is super friendly. You need to give this place a chance.
Dillon Wells
I've been here twice now. Once with colleagues from work for lunch and once to pick up carry out. Both times I've left satisfied. While I admit I was initially hesitant to try it (due to the odd cosmetics of the building) I'm glad I did. The menu is large and has something for everyone and the food is priced reasonably. The portions were more than fair. The service was quick and quality both times. Will be returning
Julia Pifine
The cheese bread and calzones were good, but the prices for everything else is way too high. Pasta dishes were very lackluster and overpriced, like the $12 9oz glass of barefoot wine. If you decide to try this, avoid the back page of the menu
nate berrier
Stopped in here for lunch the other day. My coworker had chicken parm and I grabbed the combo calzone. While waiting for our food, we were served some hand made bread sticks. They were delicious and the bread was fluffy and well textured. The calzone turned out to be HUGE. Way more than I can eat, beautiful presentation. Both of us enjoyed our meal. Service was great. The folks here seem to be just starting out and deserve more attention.
Angela Rosselli
I had the tortellini and my boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana, both were amazing!!! We will definitely be returning. Also, don't waste your appetite on an appetizer or lots of the bread as the portions were huge.
Amanda H.
After being seated and being ignored for 20 minutes, I asked a person busing the tables for service. He became our server and it was fine after that. To food was delicious but the service seemed chaotic. Go for the food if you have the time to wait and you don't get offended by just ok service.
Big Fat Art Cat
This place is like a doorway to my Eastern shore little Italy childhood. Checker table cloth, Leonardo's David tastefully clad in his grape leaf, Bella Noche playing unironcly overhead in soft ambience. The wait staff are fun, family and familiar. The owner checked in on our table. The food was excellent and definitely homemade. They served up steaming hot from the oven and dressed generously in cheese, heaped neatly in trough sized portions that dwarfed the very reasonable prices. I was impressed with the perfectly normal and excellent variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Options that might easily please any average omnivore without notice. This is how I remember dinner out as a kid with my parents. This is every perfect mom and pop Italian restaurant from every movie in the 80's I can remember. It was good, it was cozy and unpretentious and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I only wish we could have experienced the canoli and tiramisu which had sold out.
Debbie Sims
Enjoyed dinner. Baked zita very good. Baked spaghetti with meat sauce needed more marinara sauce but flavor good. Large portions. Even though they were short staffed, service was good and staff nice. Manager was very nice.
Paul Higdon
Don't pass it by just because it isn't the easiest place to get to or doesn't have the fanciest facade. This is easily the best Italian food on Hurstbourne Lane...and likely miles in every direction. The staff is attentive, kitchen is quick and when they can add wine to the dinner they'll need one more star.
Shelia D
This is a hole in the wall that serves Italian-American comfort food at very reasonable prices. It’s not super authentic (I never had food like this in Italy) or gourmet, but it’s still very good. Location is hard to find (turn into the Valero next door). It was once a fast food place but that sort of adds to kitschy charm. The tea was fresh and side salads large. Not sure if dressing was really homemade, but still good. The house garlic bread is bit different...more like a flatbread. The calzones are huge! The manicotti was delicious! I liked the sauce because it’s not too herbaceous. The canolli was good but bit expensive. Service was good. Our waiter was bit flustered and there’s definitely a learning curve going on with tickets and the staff. Food took a bit of time but we were not in hurry. Bring a sweater because it’s a bit chilly. This is the sort of no-frills Italian I’ve been craving. We’ll be back!
Mary Lavender
Their bruschetta was excellent made with real garlic. The rest was OK. Needs more sauce for the chicken and mushrooms spaghetti overwhelmed it. Ceasar salad should have Parmesan cheese, maybe in a hurry since put Parmesan cheese on Bruschetta.
Drew Ernst
Enjoy the food each and every time we have visited as have those we have brought with is to experience their food. Patience should be the rule as this is not fast food. Each order literally cooked to order with their recipes. They now have their wine and beer licenses for those desiring a bit of beverage of the alcohol based nature with their meal.
livvy4176 thomas
What an incredible food experience. Authentic Italian food!! The best flat bread and calamari ( tender and juicy!!) appetizers we have ever tasted, extremely tasty and filling lasagna, enormous calzone, a 14" made to order made from scratch pizza, and feta salad with homemade creamy italian dressing. We had so much food left over and spent less than $60 feeding 3 adults and 2 kids. We will absolutely eat there when we are in Louisville!!
Steve Spivey
This a hidden gem located near big name Italian restaurants. Wow! Excellent food and great service. Meeting the owner on our first visit was not expected. This is a family owned restaurant that uses all fresh ingredients and original family recipes and you can taste the authenticity. Looking forward to future visits to this restaurant.
Mike Ware
The food was very good and the service was great, awesome family environment, the owners were especially Welcoming and sweet!!
I look forward to going back to check out other great food they have!! Would be great family Father's Day treat!!
Andrea Hall
The decor and ambiance is lacking.
BUT.....
THE FOOD IS GOOD!
We ordered a feta salad with creamy Italian, pepperoni calzone, and fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. And a cannoli for dessert.
Everything tasted very fresh! Great flavors!
Will be back!
Wendy Pastor
A friend recommended so we went on a Sat. Night, nothing to look at (I mean, it was a converted Wendy's) but the FOOD! OMG! DELICIOUS!! HIGH QUALITY FOOD for pretty cheap prices, long wait but worth it!
The Barreras
Food was amazing. Service needs a little work. Appetizers and desert came at the same time! But was still delicious. Very friendly staff and nice relaxed atmosphere.
Robert Mattson
I would like to preface this review with I am from New York and grew up in an Italian family. This place reminds me of the mom and pop places around the corner back home. It's nothing fancy, but the food is delicious, the portions are big, and the service is all about making you happy. Can't recommend this place enough. Will be back again soon
Valerie Caldwell
While the food we purchased was great, we were limited in selection. Seems their oven was out and they failed to tell us that when they sat us. They were also out of ketchup for the fries and when we paid they had no change for us to make a cash payment. Seemed very unprepared for business.
Christina Pfeifer
Great service, the calamari was one of my favorites in town. The homemade marinara sauce is definitely worth a try. Tons of dishes to try from.
Paul Wheatley
Best Italian restaurant ithat I've eaten at in Louisville. Reasonable prices, good size portions and delicious tasting food. A good glass of wine would have made my meal even better but no alcoholic beverages are served at this time.
Daddio Fingerson
Delicious food. Like so many places short on staff. Server overworked, yet remained so pleasant. Earned a good tip.
Evan Petrie
This is a nice Italian restaurant with delicious food and a warm atmosphere in a redecorated former Wendy's. There are many pizza and pasta options to choose from, ranging from American-style to more "autentico Italiano". I went here with my family, and while they gave my mother the wrong order (she didn't care enough to make a fuss about it), we all enjoyed the food we were given. Good-sized portions will make you want to ask for a to-go box, unless you're particularly hungry. All in all, a pretty good place. I recommend the Mediterraneo, a pasta dish with plenty of seafood and a delicious sauce.
Michael Deal
Hearty portions. Calzone clearly had homemade dough and marinara which both were fantastic. Fettuccine was okay ( one taste of a friend) but would recommend for solid meal at a GREAT value.
Lisa Pennington
Cute atmosphere and friendly service. Food was just ok. The spaghetti sauce and Marina sauce were good and seemed fresh but for what we got it was a little pricey.
Jeanette Heath
Didn't have to wait very long to be seated. Friendly staff. The only thing we were disappointed was in our waitress. Not very attentive. She didn't come back shortly after we got our food to check on us, we had to flag her down, which took a while to get extra napkins and more bread. Food was great!
Shelby Welchert
This place is Amazing and only paid $25 plus a tip for a pop, baked ziti and chicken Parm. The portion sizes are huge and it is very good. One of the best, if not the best Italian places I’ve been and I’m not from Kentucky. Definitely recommend. Very nice servers as well
Steven
The telltale sign of a good Italian restaurant is their base sauce, everything from great cheesebread (like old-school restaurants used to have) to Chicken Parmigian. All pastas made there. Great tasting food. Takeout is easy-to-use through the drive thru.
Amanda Barnett
It was hard to decide a rating. The first time we came (a few months ago) the food was AMAZING. We got almost identical meals tonight as the first time but tonight there was a drastic quality difference. There was a noticeably smaller portion with our calamari appetizer and it was fairly bland. (It was amazing and mouthwatering the first time.) Its dipping sauce was akin to tomato paste with some oregano in it. The bread was also more bland than before. I ordered the same meal as before, the Chicken Milantoni, which comes with sauteed chicken, alfredo sauce, mushrooms, peas, and fettuccini. This was so good last time that I've dreamt about it (ashamedly more than once.) Tonight, however, I was pretty disappointed. The chicken was fried (not sauteed) and burnt. I did inquire about this, but didn't want to send it back because I despise wasting food. There was a plethora of pasta, with minimal sauce. (Last time, the ratio of sauce to pasta was much more reasonable.) There was a weird, unexplained sploosh of a different type of extra sauce on my boyfriends baked ziti that didn't quite go together well. The staff was fantastic and very kind. They gave us my meal at a discount and didn't charge for extra sauce when I requested it. We'll definitely be back to give it one more go in hopes that it was just an off night, but fear that we caught it at its peak and subsequent downward slide.
Debbi Smith
We will be back! Wonderful food, heavenly desserts and good service. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been a glass of wine (and we were told by our waitress that they are working on getting their liquor license).
Toni Marine
Nice place, reasonable prices, but slow service. The food that I tried didn’t provide me with the urge to come back. Bland manicotti, dry bread, gritty cannoli and greasy meatballs, asking 3 times for a refill that never arrived...needs improvement.
Nastasha Pascall
I love love loveee this place. My boyfriend wants to come all of the time. Of he could live there he was try! He gets eggplant parm and I get the lobster ravioli over spaghetti with 5 grilled shrimps added. Sorry for no picture. Every time I come I cannot wait to eat it!
James Warren
Mine was pretty good, but my coworkers that ordered the calzones complained that it was mostly bread because their toppings had all been pushed into a small pocket in one corner. We all ordered cannolis as well. They were just OK. Seemed store bought and out of the freezer. I probably won't go back.
Eric Foust
Our waitress was really cool and the food was definitely not bad but I feel like we paid a lot for good food. If they could find a way to up the quality of the food to match the quality of their service I think that could be really great.
Dylan Glenn
"Italian Wendy's" is good Italian food in a quirky location that's half the fun of visiting. Menu was standard Italian comfort food with a focus on pasta and pizza. One of the few Italian places in town that does puttanesca which is nice. The house garlic bread was good but a little crackery. Service was really good, especially considering so much of the staff was new. The only downside was the high price of the food: $22 for chicken puttanesca seems like a lot of a divey spot in Kentucky. Still, everything was very good.
charlie Hall
Very friendly service, and very good, well prepared and authentic food! My wife and I had a delightful meal. We are looking forward to them getting a liquor license so she can enjoy a glass of wine.
Evie Reid
Food was delicious. There was only 1 server and 1 cook, but they took care of all the tables well despite the short staffed nature.
Paulo santilli
This place has great food and very good prices. The food portions are a lot. I had the meat raviolis with spaghetti and it was a lot of food. My daughter and her grandmother had to split a spaghetti Alfredo with chicken, and my wife ordered the calzone.
Kris Towery
Outstanding food, service, and value. I can’t wait to try the pizza!
Pat McGroyne
Have heard the food is very good. Location can be tricky because of Hurstborne traffic. Very good lunch. Had spaghetti and meatballs. Good portion for the price. Friend had manicotti, which is served on a bed of spaghetti. Service was good and quick. Will be going back.
Jonathan Combs
The cheese bread with pepperoni was disappointing. The crust was bland and had only a thin layer of cheese. The fettucini alfredo, however, was tasty. Unfortunately it was the only menu item with a non-tomato based sauce, which is frustrating for someone who does not eat tomatoes yet loves Italian Food. I expect more from this sort of place.
The server was friendly, but service was slow and there seemed to be several mix ups and problems in the short time I was there. The place has potential, but needs work.
Kaylee Witt
LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! The food is authentic Italian with reasonably priced food and good portions. The employees are always so sweet and alert to all of your needs! I will always come here for a quick Italian craving fix
Nick Beckham
My wife and I saw there was a new restaurant here, so decided to swing by randomly for dinner one night. We were not disappointed! My only wish is that they would have had wine, but the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Jeff Franck
Great to have a nice little Italian restaurant close by. Everyone shared dishes and everyone wants to go back to try the other one! Homemade bread with marinara to start
...homemade dressing for the salad, great meal!
Justin Mast
Was really excited to try this place after reading the reviews. Like the reviews, the outside and inside wasn't anything to write home about. Service was good. Food was, well, good for the price. There is definitely a lot of value (i.e. Bang for the buck) there. It's good, cheap Italian food, that is just ok. Don't expect a five star, blow your mind experience though.
Dorian Vuleta
Great food and a great atmosphere! Definitely will be back!
Michael Horstman
Excellent food, and we had a great dinner! Suzanna was very nice and they had live violin music! It’s a low key great date spot!
Collin Schwoyer
We have very mixed feelings about this place. Been there a number of times, with groups of to 8 people. ENJOYED EVERYTHING EXCEPT a veal dish that 2 of us had. The veal was as tough as leather, not sliced thin enough, and appeared to be boiled(??) instead of sauteed. I called and told them exactly that while complimenting all else. Well, a friend and I were trying to decide where to go for our weekly lunch. I suggested Milantoni. She said she would never go back. She (and she's Italian) went there (after I had been there for the veal) and she said the veal dish was horrible. Turned out they had not corrected the mistakes with preparing the veal. So....just moments ago I called and asked to talk to an owner or manager. I told her about our veal preparation concerns. She thanked, but we had no discussion.
We'll give it one more chance, and probably try the veal again (The flavors were MARVELOUS) to see if they fixed the problem.
It would be a shame if they don't.
Raychal Richardson
I was skeptical about this place, even after sharing how good it was from friends. I finally tried it out, and went back again the next day! The chicken alfredo and lobster ravioli are so good. This is now my favorite Italian food in Louisville.
Kendra Kostick
Was looking for a casual, reasonably priced bite and definitely found it here! The service was amazing, very friendly, and pretty quick, too. The food was decently priced and very tasty. Not a super fancy place but totally works for a casual dinner/lunch spot!
Matt Cavins
One of the top lunch spots in the area. Doesn't hit the wallet, but it does hit the spot. Try a slice of Mexican pizza, you won't regret it (unless you have IBS). The chicken parm is also as good as the same dish served for twice the price at other locations nearby.
Tiffany McCoy
The food here is outstanding and Suzzana did an outstanding job running the floor all by herself! It was a busy Saturday evening and COVID-19 wasn’t slowing anything at this place down. Social distancing was in effect, no worries there. I recommend anything rectangled in red on the menu, delish!!
Jeff Pile
I had heard some really good things and afte my first visit it did not disappoint! Everything is made from scratch, from the pasta, dressings, sauce to desserts. Don't let it being in an old Wendy's location throw you, this place is legit and true old school Italian!
Rochelle Osbourne
We were very disappointed in Milantoni. First of all service was good and very friendly. The spaghetti with meat sauce was dry. Our waitress asked if we wanted a box but didn't ask if anything was wrong when we didnt want a box. Ravioli was ok nothing special.
Eric Thompson
Was a great experience homemade dishes serve staff very friendly and had great recommendations... if I'm ever in Louisville again definitely stopping here
James B
Ok Italian food. Better than Olive garden . Only thing I didn't really care for it was a marinara sauce. It tasted like it was out of a $0.49 Kroger can of tomato sauce .I would give this place another try .
Toni tinius-brady
Katherine was our server and she was super. The steamed vegetables were the best I've ever had .The caprese salad was an appetizer but I had it as a main course. My date had lobster ravioli and it was exceptional.Awesome experience.I highly recommend this place.
Beverly Sinbelian
Delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. Service was exemplary. Thank you my sister of Faith! Hebrews 11:1
Annabelle Remond
Have to give a big shout out to this establishment! Through the crisis they are putting others first and adapting. Truckers eat for free! Elderly get free delivery! And low delivery fees of $2! Way to adjust and support the community!
Bruce Crater
My wife and I haven't been out to eat in over a year so after becoming fully vaccinated we choose to go back to our favorite Italian restaurant the food is still excellent and service great so if you want fresh made from scratch Italian food stop by Milantoni
Tommy Yager
This place rocks! Great food and service. Don't listen to the idiots who think they can get gourmet food for 8 bucks. This place gives you more than your money's worth..their cannolis are excellent! The calzones are huge, and taste great. You can't lose here.
Rhonda Reid
Tried restaurant in Bardstown last night and I was pleasantly surprised. The pasta with italian sausage and peppers was so good. Huge portions and delicious deserts. Great place, food and service.
Carly Garcia
We were greeted by friendly staff and a warm plate of complimentary toasted parmesan bread. The eggplant parmesan was among the best I've had, the cheese ravioli with pesto was also delicious, and the house-made tiramisu was perfect. Olive Garden has new competition!
Matt Judd
Great little restaurant! Nice ambiance, attentive servers, and excellent authentic food. The calzones were huge, and their sauce is delicious. Also, get the cheesy bread, it's my favorite!
Cher Harper
We just ate the best meal we have had in Louisville in a long time. We are loyal customers now. Steven was our server and he was outstanding!!!
Kioni Heus
The food was very good! Kristina (really hope I didn't spell her name wrong) was VERY friendly and talkative. Some where I'll definitely be going back to! 😀👍🏻 …

A slice of pizza is like a personal pizza. The Alfredo is some of the best I have ever had
David Bascur
Great Italian restaurant! Lunch prices ranges from $6 -$14. Great lunch portions and excellent parmesan bread. The lobster ravioli is to die for. I highly recommend it. Food tasted authentic. This place gives Buca di beppo a run for it's money.
Laura A Echsner
I have yet to get anything from this place that is nothing but excellent!! The menu is so different from all the other box restaurants and is made fresh to order. Their food is a little piece of heaven!
Jonathan Balderas
Great family Italian restaurant everything is homemade the dough the sauces even the salad dressings!!!! Nothing fancy but very homey atmosphere. They have a variety of food for all types of eaters.
Angel Martinez
Renovated restaurant. The calzone was delicious and the wine was even better.
Hayley Lingenfelter
Although we live on Hurstborne, we only discovered this place in January, and we are so glad we did. Don't let the fact that it's located in an old, converted Wendy's deter you; Milantoni's is a true Italian treasure. We have been here 4 times in two short months, and the food has yet to disappoint. And they go out of their way to create a pleasing atmosphere, bringing in live music and even live painting for their customer's enjoyment. Seriously, check this treasure out.
TODD ANDERSON

Roger Macy
It was alright. Guess I expected much more and really it was not our expectiotions. Bread was dry and no taste. and our food was average and over priced for what we ordered and received.. No cheese offered or table condos as well...
Maria Roberts
The food was great! The sauces definitely taste like they are made in house and the pasta was fresh and delicious. And on top of it all, very affordable!
Lauren Brown
The service was amazing and my friend even called the waitress dyslexic and she was still nice nice about it!! All in all, good food and nice people.
Cyndi Nitzken
Such sweet wonderful people. They knew how to help me with chewable food since I lost teeth and can't chew well.
We had not been there for awhile... we will be back soon.
Bridget Lively
The Shrimp Alfredo was phenomenal, probably best to call vs order online. The 3rd party ordering website gave us the wrong pick up time
G. J. Abell
We got carry out and it was excellent much better than chain restaurant Italian and much better price! Plus you are supporting local family business! We will have our next dinner at the restaurant!
Cathy Snyder
This restaurant is a true gem. Opened by two young entrepreneurs the food is authentic Italian. They are handling thier few growing pains in style and building a tremendous loyal customer base.

Barbi Runyon
The best alfredo sauce I've ever eaten! Tiramisu is absolutely the best. Never had a bad meal there. Wish they would open a location in Jeffersonville, In !!
Debra Wickham
Order Canoli first, or you'll be too full for dessert.. lil hole in the wall big flavor. Ya can't go wrong w/a full house.. wait time was quick, service was fantastic. Sandwich, Calzone, Baked Spaghetti, you name it they nailed it.
pain in the A#@, to park. 2nd new favorite place to eat.
Janet Jordan
We try to frequent this restaurant once a week. Food is ALWAYS excellent. The outside of the establishment can be deceiving. Small & cozy interior. Italian food at its best!

One of the best kept secrets in Louisville, Milantoni's Italian is the place to go for authentic wonderful food and a small italiana atmosphere. When you walk in the door the smell of their food alone will fill you up! At Hurtstborne right next to 64, stop in. It's worth it.
jess house
Local favorite, so much better than corporate chain Italian

I had a craving for Veal Parmigiana but unfortunately they were out of veal... so I settled for chicken. Everything tasted great. Hopefully next time they have the veal.

Pretty good good but the complimentary bread sticks taste like card board.
L Colgate
We both had the Ravioli with spaghetti. Very delicious and plenty to take home. The staff was excellent too. We will be going back soon.

Surprisingly good food and friendly service. Can be a bit slow and the dining room needs to be renovated as it still feels like you are eating in what used to be a Wendy's.
collin kennedy
Great family owned resturaunt with amazing and well priced food. There is an olive garden about a mile away....if you're thinking of going there DO NOT and instead come support milantoni and give them the business they deserve
