The Vegetarian choice was good; not bland or overly cheesy. Another person in our party had Chicken Enchiladas. The chicken was shredded; there was lots of it; however, that was basically a that was in it- with some cheese on top. It was bland/boring. The other member of our party had Beef Tacos and loved them. The frozen Margaritas were delicious.

Their buy one, get 1 free margaritas (flavors included) were very good but you are required to get 2 of the same flavor, which seemed weird to me. The menu doesn't show a price for them so who knows what they cost. Vegetable fajitas were very good as was the Mexican soup. Pricing is fair but not inexpensive like some other places here that run coupons.

We had a 50th birthday party there today the lady name Gracie was probably one of the best waitresses we've had and we go to a lot of restaurants we definitely will be back we're going to have another party that we're going to book with these people again food was hot and fresh they come and sung happy birthday it's just over all was a wonderful experience and you get a lot of food for your money thanks again everybody for all the fun that we had and the help with the party

This place was amazing. The atmosphere was truly a south of the border feel and they had an absolutely amazing all you can eat buffet that was only 10 bucks. The other menus items looked well above average. My friend had the Chili Relleño I tasted it and there was a lot of energy put into to making it right. If a bar is your thing there was one there with a astonishing selection at prices that anyone can afford. Best Mexican In Louisville for all around Mexican hands down.

I came for a birthday party at El Toro. Our group was about 20 people. The servers and manager were all very friendly and efficient. Our food was all correct and brought out on time. Everyone including me had a great meal with friends.

Was very busy when we visited. Resturant has limited parking and interior is hard to navagate. I arrived on a day that had advertised as having specials and 99 cent shots of tequila. The only special was a two for one which was expensive. I was never offered a 99 cent shot of tequila or asked to add it to my drinks. The drinks were not strong at all. I ordered a combo of two chicken items and only one contained chicken. The service was slow but that wasn't a big issuse as to be expected in food service these days. Our group was asked to leave as they had some large groups coming in. Food was ok.

Fajitas are a big hit at this place! Food overall was very good. Had to wait longer than expected to place our order after we received drinks. We had a party of seven and our server took good care of us. Temperature in back room next to window was very cool. Halfway through our visit here we could feel heat coming on to warm the room. Yesterday was my first time ever eating here . THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND THE STAFF WERE SO NICE AND POLITE. MY ONLY Complaint was I HAD TO DRIVE AROUND THERE VERY SMALL PARKING LOT 6 TIMES BEFORE I COULD FIND A PARKING 🅿️🅿️🅿️ SPOT. I haven't written a review in awhile, but I had to express the amazing service and food at El Toro. The greeting is sincere and heart-felt. The food is quality and fresh. Everybody has their own favorite Mexican style restaurant, I had mine too, but this place has something about it...some genuine quality that shines (and the best food overall). I had the "pregnant burrito" w/steak and the steak inside was so delicious, with the prices of meats going up so high lately I had been craving some carne. It certainly did not disappoint! My girlfriend had the chicken nachos. I tried some of it and it was spectacular. My daughter had a kids meal steak burrito and the steak equalled my burrito. The price was as expected for Mexican dinner, not too high. This location is 45 minutes away from us. We found it late one evening on my birthday, coincidentally. We questioned the late night visit but found ourselves a gem. They sang to me and gave me a free dessert for my big 40. When I used the very clean restroom, she had asked them to be quiet about it but they certainly were the opposite. They even pulled my toboggan over my eyes and sounded an air horn and sirens lol. It was a great evening, even if we did get home late (and stuffed), we were happy...and I think you will be too. That's why I'm sharing. Sincerely.

I was working near here. I’m from Georgia. I saw the previous reviews and decided I would try this place out. Let me tell you, I’ve been to many restaurants in many states and this waitstaff and manager is by far the nicest I’ve ever experienced. The manager knew half the restaurant by name and greeted me with a smile and checked on me several times. Not only that, my server was amazing and was also so nice and attentive. The salsa is amazing. The service is quick and the Pollo Monterrey was one of the best I’ve had! I will remember this place for a long time and hope to be back one day!

The food was good. I had the "pregnant burrito" which was probably expecting triplets, it was so large! But tonight was not my best experience. Two tables away, were 2 families with very young children who tested the power of their vocal cords rather frequently, and I can confidently say that they work just fine. I ordered water to drink, and though it sat empty for a while, it was never refilled. 🤷

We haven't been here for a while bc we've moved a little further away from this location & there is a Mexican restaurant very close to our new house. They have good food & they're a little cheaper. BUT! here the manager visited our table TWICE. To say hello & then ask how things were. & the server checked on us after our food came out & kept our drinks filled.. That is old school service!!! I don't even know who the manager is @ our new place. I'll pay for good service anytime & I'm a fantastic tipper when I receiver good service. Thank you El Toro for your old school customer service. We'll be back.

Try the Fajitas for 2 Steak, Chicken and Shrimp, can't beat the price and portion size. Great place for your favorite Mexican dishes so drive past the rest and head to EL Toro.

I've taken my family there a number of times, and each time we've always been taken care of. We have two young boys and the servers/waiters etc are always there to help and get us everything we need. And everyone has always been so polite. On top of that, the food is great. It's standard Mexican affair, but it's always been cooked right. Couple that with the people and service and you have a great place to take your family or friends.

The best of this style of Mexican restaurant around. Similar to the regional chain on every corner, but better food and great service. The lunch buffet is great surprise. Nice price and has everything you'd hope for plus a decent salad bar setup. PS "2 for 1" margaritas all the time and they're pretty stout.

I have ordered both from the menu and from the buffet. Though I prefer the menu items, the buffet was enjoyable nonetheless. My favorite Mexican joint in Louisville so far.

Coming from Texas. I live there. I know Mexican food. The seasoning used in their fajitas is not correct. It tastes like taco seasoning and not fajitas.The guacamole while decent, is poorly displayed flat on a plate while it should be in a bowl with 4-5 flour tortilla chips sticking out. The queso is actually good, but the tortilla chips are from a bag. The refried beans are an odd grey color and have a different taste. They should be brown, not grey.

Service is excellent. They greet you immediately at the door and it's a very welcoming environment. They have both inside and outside seating. Our waiter was helpful in letting us know that we were able to get the tacos a la carte, so we opted for that. While the food was decent, it's rather pricey. Individual tacos (depending on what meat you choose) ranges from $2.99-3.99 per taco. The meat was good and they also give you some avocado slices and a little lettuce in addition to the cilantro and onions, but each taco only came with one tortilla, which had very little structural integrity. I ended up with almost all the filling on the plate because the tortilla tore. Overall, the food was okay, and while a bit out of the price range I'm looking for in terms of tacos, the fact they're very welcoming earns them 4 stars from me.

This is our favorite restaurant. We absolutely love how friendly the staff and owner are. The food is always fast, delicious and very fresh. I get the carnitas almost every time. Their guacamole is fantastic. It's a great place for a date, dinner with the family or a large group. Truly the best Mexican restaurant in town. It's a must try if you've not been here yet.

Stopped in for a late dinner, got the tres Maria for the first time which was 3 mini chimichangas shrimp,steak,and chicken. They were all very delicious but the steak one was by far the best. Honestly I've never had anything like it. It's something I will definitely crave in the very near future and will go back for. I hope they open more locations. Prices are reasonable and service was great. Cant wait to go back.

I went here for dinner. I had the ground beef burrito. It was okay, the flavor was good. It was odd that the condiments were not inside the burrito, but on the outside. The people were great. Very friendly. Also, they take Google Pay even though the sign on the door doesn't say that. Bicycling:. This place would be tough to get to via bicycle. The road is fast and dangerous. They do have a screened porch, so kind of outside.

I wanted 3 Carne asada tacos and thought I would get them from taco city, well 😩😫 nope idk what I got from taco city but they weren't just Carne asada tacos like I asked so they all ended up in the trash . Never even pull one out . So I ended up at EL TORO and got my 3 carne asada tacos like I asked for and got rice and beans for the same price as 3 tacos from taco city .. 🙃 THANK YOU EL TORO

We have eaten here several times. And every time the food is outstanding as well as the service. I always get a frozen strawberry Margarita and they are 2 for the price of one all the time. And they are delish. Their salsa and chips are great! I love the vegi Quesadillas. Their fresh Guacamole is excellent. I also love the Pollo Hawaiian Chicken. El Toro is a great restaurant with perhaps the absolute best service I have ever seen. I visited the restaurant once, and three months later the manager recognized me by name when I showed up again. Ever since then I continue to return often and he even gives me discounts purely for being a frequent customer. I always get the number 6 with beef. No rice, double beans. The tacos are delicious and are not just a pile of grease. It is a truly great restaurant that I hope continues to thrive.

Awesome staff, manager is very attentive and accomodating. By far the coldest beer on tap in the city! I get a 22 oz Modelo and it is cold to the bottom every time. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious and delivered to the table within 10 minutes. Friendly family atmosphere and live entertainment on certain days of the week.

My family goes to El Toro at least once or twice a month and really likes it. The service is helpful and friendly. The food is good, although the entrees with shredded chicken are a little dry. Fajitas, burritos supremos, enchiladas verdes are some of our faves. Children's menu is affordable and kids like it. Definitely recommend.

They have a fantastic menu with the basics to their specials. The margaritas are PERFECT (did I mention they're two for one?!). El Toro has options for everyone and it's honestly been a favorite of mine for years. The staff is very friendly, too! I recommend this place to everyone who comes out to the Middletown/Douglas Hills area.

It's a very typical Mexican restaurant. It plays it very very safe and you get exactly what you expect. All the typical Mexican restaurant foods are there, it's pretty much exactly what you would expect out of a 3-star Mexican restaurant. The thing that bumps this place up to 4 stars, in my opinion, is the fast, friendly service. It's easy to go to any Mexican restaurant, get generic service, and get it at an average pace. Here, the food comes quickly and the quality doesn't suffer. Servers are always very alert and aware of how tables are doing, and you'll very rarely, if ever, find yourself looking for your server. Nothing makes this place super exceptional, but it definitely does stand a bit above a generic Mexican place.

We absolutely love this place. The service is great! The food is delicious. The Margaritas are 2-for-1. My only complaint would be that the Salsa is not hot enough. My favorite meal is the Carne Burrito, which has steak in it. Awesome! The queso is average...if you're going for queso with your chips, go with the queso with meat in it.

El Toro is a great place! We play trivia there every Monday night and the food is great! The people are even greater! Hector, David, David Dos, Arecely, Graciela and everyone there takes fantastic care of you. They are fantastic with kids too!

I had never benn vefore, but we saw a sign for as lunch buffet, and had to try it. I was expecting just a build your own taco bar, but it was so much more. The buffet was not big, but had everything you could want and more! pulled chicken, chicken and peppers, steak fajitas, pork carnitas, chicken flautas, enchiladas, chimichangas. it had queso, guacamole, and lots of different sauces, it also had mexican deserts. All for around 10 dollars. It way surpassed my expectations. Everything was fresh and delicious. I want to back everyday, I think the buffet is inly during the week though.
