First time here, mostly due to reviews. I thought the place was over hyped and the first impression seemed that way. We were sat and the amazing wait staff quickly raised the bar. The food is fresh and the sushi is amazing the small plates are fun and make up for lack of sushi role options. This place will go on our frequent restaurants to visit. The bar mixes are great pairing for the dishes.

This place is amazing and like nowhere else I’ve ever been. All the food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The prices and portions are exceedingly fair. Our server Jordan was very friendly, and attentive. We just kept ordering more and we couldn’t stop. We practically had to roll back out to the car. If you are in Vegas, this place is absolutely worth a stop !! I will be back whenever we visit. Thanks Other Mama!

Hands down the best and fresh seafood we have ever had in Las Vegas. We ordered the sashimi deluxe, devil's eggs, crudo scallops, roasted octopus, soba salad, and hamachi kama. All were delicious and great service too.

From the outside you may not think this place is a good choice. Once in the restaurant you'll be pleasantly surprised. Great selection of fresh seafood and other shared plates. Full bar available also. Enjoy!!

This is a nice little hidden gem in SW LV on Durango. The food here is served as appetizers, family style. We ordered a variety of food, starting with Chicken Fried Lobster and Grilled Octopus, Oysters, Spicy Rice Cakes and finally Miso Ribs. The dessert here is also very tasty. Japanese Cheesecake and Chocolate Ganache capped off the evening. It's definitely a must go, but reservations are required.

Delicious seafood: whitefish carpaccio and octopus appetizer were our favorites! The seared octopus was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was served with a umami tomato-blend sauce and *extremely* tender so that it almost tasted fatty/juicy.

Tasty, tasty tasty. Other Mama is a local gem serving fresh and delicious satisfying morsels of mostly seafood. Excellent service coupled with flavorful beautifully presented dishes. If you are looking for elevated sushi and sashimi this is the place to go. Finished the night with an order of miso ribs (not pictured). An enjoyable night of over indulgence with friends which was well deserved.

Other Mama is an experience for your taste buds as well as great meal. This is not your run of the mill sushi place. Every meal is an adventure, you are going to remember and want to relive, try the deviled eggs and you can’t go wrong with any of their sushi rolls.

Beautiful, tasty dishes. Comfortable and chill ambiance. Great place for friends or date night. Tried a little bit of everything. Sushi rolls were the bomb. Japanese fried chicken and deviled eggs were excellent. Cocktails were balanced and delicious. Highly recommend!

Great experience!! The tuna tataki and amberjack roll were by far the winners for me. Great cocktails and super friendly staff. Excellent place for just a fun hang with some fresh fish and beverages. Highly recommended. Tough to get reservations day of. So plan in advance. Bar seating available but the whole time I was there the bar tops were full. And rightly so. Food is amazing.

The Food was delicious. Everything we ordered had great taste, and great quantity. The octopus here was beyond amazing. The best octopus I have ever eaten. Oysters where crazy good as well, we ordered the 4 x 4 x 4–which is 3 different flavors with four oysters of each, and it also has 4 different sauces. The style of how you would get the food was unique. I would say its some what like a coursed meal, but not planned, as you can choose the food, and there isn't a limit (im not saying they will let you order and immense amount of food, but that it is the style in that they are meant to serve the food). All plates are meant to be shared, (don’t have too) and are brought one by one (at least it was that way in my experience of eating there). Overall, the point of this review is too say that this place was amazing and a should go to place to eat seafood/sushi.

TLDR at bottom of review. I’m kind of speechless. Me and my buddies checked this place out while staying in Vegas. Unfortunately, I didn’t try their entire menu. However, from a few of items that I’ve tried, it was nothing less than spectacular! I’m going to post a picture and you may wonder what you’re looking at and the thing is, I’m a picky eater, so I typically don’t plan on taking pictures because I don’t expect the majority of food to taste great. But , starting with the oysters, fantastic! I ordered 3 different oysters as my 6-piece and they all tasted great. The smaller oysters taste best. Furthermore, we had the seared albacore tataki and it was just so freaking good that the meat would nearly melt in your mouth. Mind blowing! I then had the grilled octopus and if anyone knows anything about octopus, it’s typically chewy. I’ve had amazing octopus in a paella in Lisbon Portugal a few years ago, which they’re known for the best octupus, and I could compare this dish with that one ANY day! Octupus is always a bit chewy but the better it’s prepped, the more tender it is. The marinara sauce paired amazingly with it! Last but not least, their server was on par. He sat us down at our table, quickly gave a briefing of the menus, requested drink orders, highlighted some house specials and their popular items and moved on to grab our drinks. Throughout the ordering, we would ask a variety of questions and suggestions and he was really good at giving us a LOT of insight so we didn’t feel lost in a restaurant we’ve never been in. The price is a tad on the higher end and you can expect to spend at least $15 and up to $50 or more depending on how much food you get. Not all dishes are large either, but for the quality, very well worth it! Highly recommend, would come again 13/10. TLDR; I’m a picky eater so I don’t post good reviews often. High quality food, good service, and reasonably priced for the quality and taste of the food. Expect to spend about $20-$50 depending on what you get.

We eat here quite a bit but it never gets old. The food is fresh and delicious. We really like the spicy tuna tar tar and waffle fries and the amberjack crudo to start off the dinner. Then we move on to the crispy rice and a few sushi rolls before topping it off with their Prime NY steak which is served pre-cut. We have taken several friends here, who are now repeat customers like us. Highly recommend this place to try something different and delicious.

One of the best of Las Vegas. Great vibe. Amazing staff and AMAZING FOOD. Get the sashimi combo if you really want some of the freshest fish ever. And the fried kimchi with egg had ridiculous flavors and textures.

Dinner was delicious, we (4adults) shared bunch of items to try as many items. In this 1st picture we have Ribs, grilled octopus, the rainbow roll(made with fresh crab meat) & the chicken was one of the best surprise. 2nd picture was the sashimi plate, all the fish was so fresh but we weren't very happy with the Amberjack (it is a fatty fish so it was a bit different & non of us would order that again)We also had 6piece fresh oysters, spicy tuna crunchy rice roll (was Yummy) & fried tofu. All was great & plenty to share.

Hands down the best sushi we've had in a long time! We ordered the whitefish carpaccio, the spicy salmon tartare with waffle fries, deviled eggs with crispy oysters, kimchi fried rice, agadashi tofu, and the tempura shrimp/spicy tuna/avocado roll and OMG, we were in absolute heaven! This is was the perfect amount of food for two of us (if not a little more than we should have eaten) but everything was so delicious it was a joy to (over) eat! Special shout out for the whitefish carpaccio and tofu dishes. Just wow. Service was incredible, and the price of all this with a beer was under $100!! The cherry on this incredibly beautiful cake - we were given a scoop of their house-made coconut ice-cream on the house. And like everything else we tried, it was the BEST we've ever had! Must check this place out. We will be sure to have this on our itinerary EVERY SINGLE TIME we visit.

Sadly, they were out of Tuna on NYE. Tuna seems to be about half their menu so it was a little frustrating to go out on New Years Eve and not order the things that they are most popular for. I was impressed by the chicken strips though. It’s truly is award winning. Service was nice. The ambiance is quaint. Hopefully my return will be better and I can improve this review.

I found this place to be very expensive. I did not realize before going that all the dishes are tapas size. This made for a very expensive evening. Also, because it is tapas, the kitchen can easily get backed up; you are waiting quite a long time for your next dish. The food is very good and might be worth the expense for others. I do not plan to revisit.

Best uni I tried in my life! Unassuming place, off the strip. Prices are okay for small plates, but to set expectations- our bill was over $250 for 2 after a few drinks and about 8 small plates shared. Worth it! Very much recommend!

I've always heard great things about Other Mama and have been wanting to try it myself, it did not disappoint! The seafood ceviche was probably my favourite dish we got, but everything was incredible. Salmon poke was also super fresh, the ribs were cooked perfectly and the spices were perfect, I could've had 3 servings to myself. The only thing that could've been improved on was that the calamari was a bit overdone, but the miso sauce that's drizzled on top was a perfect accompaniment, we still ate every last piece. Did we need dessert after that, not at all, but we couldn't pass it up, so we ended the meal with the fluffy Japanese cheesecake and the coffee jelly with coconut sorbet. The coffee and coconut brought out the toasty flavors in each other and was incredible. Perfect ending!

Wait staff were very helpful to us who were not from the area and took time to explain how things worked and the various dishes. They also made very helpful recommendations with our selections. We loved every dish. My favorite was the ceviche.

Amazing food and outstanding service! The roasted octopus with the peanut sauce was so good that we ordered two. The staff is indefinitely friendly and knows the menu inside and out. The atmosphere is fun, quirky and intimate. Love it!

TL;DR - Fantastic! Will go again! Took a chance on my one-meal-in-vegas on Other Mama and was pleasantly surprised! We went for an 8pm dinner, made reservations (but didn't really need to), and ended up sitting at the sushi bar near the . All of the staff were super friendly, we had a great conversation with the sushi chef about seasonality of stock, and we had a front row for the banter of the kitchen staff. Appetizers were sashimi (delux) and shishito peppers. I was hesitant to get sushi in a landlocked state, but I was very happy I did! Normally I gauge sushi on their uni, and this was some of the best I've had outside of Japan! Mains were Jadori Chicken Thighs, Kimchi Rice, and Sebass (fish of the day). The crunch on the chicken thighs was perfect, the Sebass was lemmony, but the rice fell a bit short of the bibimbap it was trying to be (still good though). Desert was Miso-honey ice-cream and a Brownie. The miso was subtle, the honey even more so, both of which were a bit overshadowed by the cream (again, still tasty though). The brownie was crumbly and gooie all at the the same time. All in all it was a fantastic meal

Absolutely amazing. We have been asking around for wonderful food off the strip and it was highly recommended. The Ceviche was incredible as was the Spicy Tuna Tartare. If you don’t know what you want to eat or drink, just ask for recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Very chill, VERY good.

The dishes are original and delicious. Menu is well crafted... Tuna tar tar + waffle fries. Deviled eggs + fried oysters. Mussels + Foie Butter. Selection of various raw oysters... All full of fresh flavor. Service was mediocre to start but the food made up for it. Reservations recommended but hard to get a hold of the restaurant to have them call you back.

Food is delicious as always, but portions were definitely smaller than last visits. $1 oysters are nice touch...Mondays are half price wines too!!! Wish it included sakes. Cocktails were well structured and sexy. We live too far away to really make part of rotation. But when in neighborhood will be by.

I have been to this restaurant one time before and without a doubt it is truly delicious. I recommend trying the Japanese Fried Chicken, the deviled eggs and the handmade sushi rolls. Honestly though everything on the menu is fire and it all has a really great twist. Make sure you plan ahead and make a reservation because the restaurant is small and they don’t often take walk ins. If they do have the availability it will probably be at the bar. I highly recommend trying this restaurant out one of the better local spots in Las Vegas!

Other mama is truly special to me. My first visit was with my wife for my birthday in 2021. I have never experienced sushi like theirs and it literally haunts me just how delicious the food was. I was able to go back again in November and everything was just as good if not better than I remember. I never understood the importance of rice in sushi before visiting here. Truly talented chefs and great service. Favorite restaurant in the entire US and would absolutely travel to Vegas just to eat here.

This is the best restaurant I've discovered in Vegas so far. The cocktails are a dream - complex yet consistently delicious and served with gorgeous presentation. The food is simply the best that the city has to offer, and the service is basically the same. On the very first visit I had to the restaurant, the bartender made us complimentary drinks he'd been working on. They were absolutely incredible and I wish I'd written down the ingredients. A slew of delicious raw fish dishes and Asian fusion plates make up the menu, and basically everything is a piece of art. The Seared Albacore Tataki is unmissable and is easily the best dish I've had in town. My recommendation? Go there, pick the cocktail that looks the most delicious, grab the Tataki, and let your waitperson pick the rest. You're not going to get an eating experience even close to as good unless you want to drop $250 a head at a Michelin alum eatery on the strip. Seriously, this is the sort of restaurant that you end up talking about to friends until they're so annoyed that they just agree to go.

Came to Other Mama during their daily HH (5-6pm) on a random Tuesday in December. Place wasn't very busy at all and so service was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken karaage and tuna tartare w/ waffle fries. The karaage was delish with the aioli it came with -- would order this again. The tartare was forgettable and the fries were more like chips. Both apps were enough to fill me up. Prices were very reasonable during HH (~40% off from normal), otherwise I think it would have been pretty pricy for what you get.

Highly recommend this restaurant! My husband and I drove to Vegas for the weekend and came here for dinner one night. The staff is amazing, incredibly friendly & super helpful. The vibe of the place is very laidback and just a cool atmosphere. The food was delicious! We ended up getting an extra order of the oysters. And the dessert was sooo tasty! Cozy, local eatery with a brilliant mission to teach and allow their consumers to experience a great cultural experience through cuisine and follow through with absolutely brilliant cuisine as well! I am SO happy that we decided to visit this restaurant while in Vegas. It was honestly the best meal we have had IN YEARS. We were lucky enough to be seated at the bar area so we were able to chat with the GM & bartender which made our experience that much better. Lovely place! Great atmosphere, staff was very helpful to us first time diners, and the food was fantastic! If I had to sum it up, the ingredients were treated with meticulous care and flavors were balanced just right to showcase them. Started with the roe and uni on an oyster. Was worried about having too many things at once but all 3 things go together surprisingly well, especially with a bit of lemon juice on top. Tune tataki was done perfectly, just the right thickness and sear with a lovely sauce. The karaage was a bit different then what I expected but paired well with the mayo dip that I usually go without. My favorite is by far the grilled octopus, tender and smokey but the sauce has the perfect kick to it, ended up being my favorite. Had some edamame on the side, there was a subtle hint of bonito that makes me think they steamed them with dashi. Finished the meal with the key lime tart, hits just the spot.

For this five star restaurant, Reservations were made here three weeks in advance for our 9:00 pm seating at Hell's Kitchen during the busy Christmas day. The environment is beautiful and what an amazing evening and experience my husband and I had. The waitstaff were awesome and all worked together as a team to provide the best service. All the foods we ordered was delicious and filling. They were all prepared and cooked to perfection. Presentation was on point. We didn't even get to finish all our foods and i regret that I had to leave it behind but when you are on vacation you are always on the go so there's no time to eat extras.

Great spot for oysters and small Asian dishes. Told our waiter Calvin I had Celiac disease and had to eat gluten free. He was so patient and kind going through the menu with me and ensuring dishes were safe. Amazing service from him and the food was top notch. Pros: - Our server, Kaleb, was fantastic. - The grilled octopus was incredibly tender. Cons: - The shrimp bisque and grilled octopus were very salty. Also, the shrimp still had shells on them, which could have been mentioned given that shrimp shells may not appeal to everyone. - The sashimi was presented nicely but the fish had no flavour. - The Japanese fried chicken was fried to a very dark colour and, therefore, dry. Unfortunately, we weren’t very full from this meal but decided not to order more food given the quality of the first several dishes. This restaurant certainly has potential if they can improve on the overall flavours.

Wow loved this place! Lots of great selections that are different from the same old Japanese menu. They have a happy hour menu and it has plenty of options. I had the tuna poke bowl with beets. It was so flavorful I ate every drop of the juice! The staff were amazing, I was there early so tons of attention! I enjoyed the saki flight but was too full for desert.

This place doesn't dissapoint. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. The oysters are so fresh and delicious. The menu is small but with enough to satisfy without overwhelming. They have a great drink menu and some pretty unique beers. The ambiance is very cool. I will definitely be back.

As challenging as it has been to finally make it and actually get a reservation set.....we loved it. The service was good and the waitress was attentive but the food was even better. We ordered everything off of the happy hour menu and enjoyed it all. The one thing I would be fine if I never ordered again was their Japanese cheesecake from the dessert menu...it was described as being a fluffier version with the same taste but I did not find that to be true at all. Overall very very pleased and I'd recommend to anyone.

The Savannah Cocktail is Amazing. Tequila, Cadamaro, Passionfruit and Honey. Deviled eggs with a fried oyster was great also, it was a special. You get a good serving of Tuna Tartar and waffle fries. We finished off with the Kimchi fried rice and Japanese style fried chicken. Love this place.

Absolutely loved this place. The decor was very simple and a bit misleading from the website but in my experience you can have a hole in the wall that serves outstanding food. This is by far nothing like a hole in the wall from any perspective- the decor is minimal and comfy but the food is really out of this world. The hush puppies were fragrantly filled with blue crab, the Japanese fried chicken aka chicken karage was really delicious. I had the steak for dinner and it was prepared beautifully and very tasty. Service was great too. You definitely need a reservation as the place filled up quickly

I would order them all again! Bartender even freshly pressed a grapefruit to make my paloma. The place is really laid back even though the food was on another level. I had a business dinner at Other Mama. It was a little off the strip, and the look of the restaurant was ecletic, and youthful. We had done the chef's tasting menu in the private room for about 12 people. All I have to say is WOW. The food was fun, innovative and fresh. Every dish was prepared expertly, and the detail to the look and taste was unmatched. I entertain a good deal, and they took the experience to the next level. the service was awesome as well. If you are looking for a great spot away from the lights of the strip make this your destination.

Found this neat restuarant on a food critic's site. She stated this is where the chiefs gathered so I had to visit! Wonderfully tasty seafood, just what I wanted. Best calamari, sauce was fantastic. Loved all the shishimi, very fresh tasting. Waitress was great, wonderful recommendations. The rice pudding with pear dessert was out of this world....I cannot say enough about it or the whole meal. I will go back!

$1 oysters can't be beat. The sashimi is always extremely high quality and reasonably priced. Their other dishes are great as well; I think by now we've tried the entire menu and I don't recall anything being disappointing. Make sure you get the waffle fries.

Very interesting menu, but I did not connect with most of the dishes. The tuna tartare was good but perhaps a little masked by the saltiness of the fries in the dish. It had a great crispness and was overall good. We recieved some questionable oysters, but both the calamari and the eggs were good. The drinks were subpar, and by subpar I mean fire whoever manages the bar. Altogether it would have been a little better than 3 stars but the nail in the coffin was that the AC was not working properly though out the meal. If given the opportunity and I would consider giving this place another shot but with a $70 per person price tag it is hard to get excited about this place.

Found this place on TripAdvisor and like the creative menu. it is about 15-20 minutes from the strip but well worth the effort to find it. They have several interesting cocktails to offer and a well stocked bar. The place is in a strip mall and very unassuming. We were greeted right when we walked in and the staff was great all through dinner. we tried a lot of the menu and shared (the best way). some of the stand out appetizers were the mussels and the Sashimi sampler but the Salmon Sashimi salad was the bomb! some of the main dished everyone liked Kim Chi fried rice, the chicken thighs and whole grilled fish. I would highly recommend this place if you like Sashimi and something a little different.

Was in Vegas for a week for work and I didn't realize I was getting depressed with how bad the food was with nothing but various iterations of cheesecake factory on the strip. Came here on a recommendation of a coworker of whom this visit was his third that week (and I would've gone multiple time too if I knew about it before my last night there) It was $300 for ~10 dishes and drinks for three people and every, single, dish was a culinary experience. It was the best meal of my life so far. Come here if you're in Vegas and want to actually enjoy what you eat.

We tried out Other Mama for dinner on a Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation, but, luckily, they were still able to accommodate us. Reservations are good idea. The decor is a bit strange and IMHO doesn't complement the experience. But the service and food are so extraordinary that one soon forgets about the plastic halloween candelabras on the faux fireplace mantle. The service is was truly exemplary. We had the Fried Oyster Tacos, Chicken Fried Lobster and Grilled Fish (Branzino). It was all excellent. You can taste the care and devotion they have for their food. If you give Other Mama a try, you will not be disappointed.

Vegas is a land full of people looking to blow money on some famous chef's sub par restaurant that appeals to the masses. If you go to Vegas for work because you would never go for a vacation this is the place for you. It's quite and not smoke filled. With food that is inventive and satisfying. I try to visit whenever I am in town and tell friends it's a must visit spot.

Wow... We met some locals at dinner last night, and they recommend this place very highly. It delivered in spades. They specialize in fresh fish and sashimi, and it's amazing. The salmon poke was phenomenal, and the sashimi was excellent. The hush puppies were delicious, and the drinks were superb. We managed to save room for dessert, and the miso honey ice cream was outstanding (it went very well with their flourless cheesecake). Our kids got the Nutella ice cream (chocolate with hazelnut chunks), and they devoured it. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Vegas.
