This little spot was very clean, great atmosphere and most importantly great mouth watering food, My daughter picked this spot from a list I gave her to eat for her birthday. The employees are very nice. We had the Birria Tacos, Street Tacos and shrimp and pineapple tacos. A few side dishes. We also had the chili strawberry lemonade. The birra tacos and the dipping sauce was so good.. I can’t wait to go back. I want to try everything on the menu.

This place opened a few months ago in the West Heights area and I AM GLAD IT DID!!! After trying Birria in San Diego, CA for the first time, we constantly search for a good Birria here in Houston… well, we finally found it!!! The place is small, but big enough for the clients it gets, the Tortas are really good, and the Birria Ramen combo is amazing. Prices are affordable, and the staff is nice. Enjoy! (I know I did!)

My wife was interested in birria tacos but she heard traditional birria uses goat meat, so she was a little hesitant to try it. Then I researched and found this place and they serve it with beef here. First time to try birria tacos and we got hooked. While we were eating, we saw someone eating noodles and were intrigrued and ordered the ramen, too, and it was delicious; I think ramen soup was the same consumme that you dip the tacos in and with shredded beef in it. Love that consumme! Onion, lime, and cilantro (as toppings) compliment the flavor. Atmosphere was very pleasant; around 1pm on a Saturday there was a big group there (it is not such a big place) it felt busy inside. Service was friendly. We'll be back!

We are on a mission to find the best Birra in Houston. TJ Birra Y Mas is our second stop, the restaurant is small but cute. We ordered the quesabirra and some tacos. The quesabirra was super thick, filled with meat and cheese. We really enjoyed the size of the Birra. I wish the meat had a little more salt, I think we would have enjoyed them more. The Birra at our previous stop was more savory but the size of the quesabirra at TJ's was more filling. We were also hoping to compare Michilladas but TJs only serves virgin drinks, no alcohol. 2 out of 2 so far, we'll be trying a third place soon. Keep an eye out for our next review.

Dined in on a Monday at 11:48 a.m. and it was not busy. There’s a cute grass backdrop that says WAKE UP WORK HARD EAT TACOS. The picture of the taco looks like a dragon/whale hehe I ordered: Birria dillas: the meat inside the taco needs more flavor, I bit into nothing but cheese mostly, the consomme is perfectly seasoned Refried beans: SO GOOD! Super Delicioso! Hands down our Favorite Birria go to Spot in Houston. Super Fresh & always hot and ooee gooey goodness with crisp cool veggies. The salsas are also on point! They have a New location south of Houston we will visit soon. Definately a must go to if you're in the Mood for Dipped Birria Tacos. If you haven't tried the Birria Ramen . . . It is a MUST HAVE and Game changer .

Yum! I found this place off of a Houston food Instagram. Super cute—decorated nicely for Mother’s Day. We went specially for the birria and did not disappoint. It was actually my first time trying it. It was delicious. The sauce was also a perfect touch. They serve this pineapple lemonade which was yummy. I also tried their candy at the counter, which is basically like seasoned gummy worms. Yum! Service was great too.

TJ Birria has become one of my favorite spots and is also where I first tried birrias. The food is crazy good- particularly the ramen combo where you get ramen in this delicious mexican broth with a bit of shredded beef + two birriadillas (dip it in the ramen broth for the best experience). Drinks: I LOVE their aguas frescas, especially the cucumber one and recently I've been getting them w/ some chamoy. Chefs kiss. Best of all, both locations (the heights & stafford) have ample seating and friendly customer service! I've been so many times and the food quality and customer service has been great each time. I really appreciate consistency. If you haven't been, you're simply missing out. Thank you TJ Birria y Mas for the delicious food and great service- keep up the good work!

The green sauce is sooo yummy. That alone was worth the trip. The birria tacos were flavorful and a good size. The restaurant itself is tiny with very limited seating so we got our food to go. I’d love to go back and try some of their other menu items.

If you are on the fence about trying this place my recommendation is go...go now. Like literally stop reading this, get in your car and when you arrive order the birria tacos and Ramen. It is so delicious. I shared a meal because I was not that hungry but after I just wanted more! We literally drank all the broth and it was good to the last drop. I will be back. This place is a must go to! One thing is it is super small inside so ordering for take out is a good idea!

This place is pretty legit. The food was delish and piping hot. The churros were amazing and made fresh as well. The service was friendly and attentive. My only complaint are the napkins. These are the worst napkins any restaurant can have. They’re thinner than paper and you need at least 5 napkins per wipe. Invest in some better napkins please.

It’s hard to find a place that sales birria tacos so when i saw this place i got so excited. I got the birra tacos with con consume and it was soooo good. Everyone at the table was quiet while eating it so that’s how you know the place is good. The tacos were crunchy and the meat was so flavorful. The service was good and the food came out so fast. We also got the tres leches and horchata and those were okay. Would def come back for the tacos.

The birrias here are alright. Not bad but also not anything crazy either. The portions are definitely small for what your paying. But it does satisfy the craving. I felt like the flavors were just lacking in the consume.. the broth was light, nothing thick or concentrated with intense flavor of beef that I was hoping for… However, it does have flavors of the dried chilies which is yummy but it still lacked! The tacos itself was tiny.. for 4 of them being $3 a pop.. just seems over priced for what it is. This place maybe over hyped but the lady that helped us was very nice.

Came here for their popular birria ramen and it did not disappoint. I had to let the noodles sit in the consomé to soften a bit, but once I added my cilantro, onions and salsa to spice the broth a bit, it was a delightful meal. Their street tacos are also pretty good. They had really fast customer service and answered any questions we had. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try birria ramen or birria tacos in general.

Got the Ramen Birria combo which was Birria ramen with 2 quesobirria tacos. Food was really good and came out quickly. Would definitely go back. Just be warned that parking is scarce.

My food was so good I had the birria served over mashed potatoes that had bits of melted cheese inside. My bf had the Ramen but he wasn't a fan he's makes Ramen for a living so he was expecting too much haha. They give you enough food to take left overs 😅 very very good quality Mexican food is hard to come across in Texas I'll come back here. Just hope someone can tell the female staff not to stare at the customer. It's uncomfortable.... Also bit overpriced.

I tried the most popular 3 mini tacos and soup. The tacos here were very good! And the soup part of it is pretty unique. I was astounded seeing tacos being dipped in ramen, but at some point it made sense! They have a variety of tacos and other foods to choose from. There’s not a lot of parking.

Best birria tacos in Houston! This is less than 5 min from where I live and I come at least once a week. I split the foodie platter which has one of everything and it’s definitely a good bang for your buck. Quick service and always on point! I’ve sent so many people here it’s truly delicious.

It was my first time trying this place ! I have heard about it before but until my friend raved about it on Snapchat I just had to try it! I’m so glad I did !! The food was so good and authentic it’s hard finding good Birria!! Even my picky Grandmother loved the food 🙌🏼 We are ready to start coming once a week for Lunch 😂💗💪🏼 The cashier was also super nice and friendly I would definitely recommend this place to everyone ‼️

Food was decent not horrible but average. We order the Birriadillas which wee good and the consome had good flavoring. The street beef tacos were not that great. The beef was overcooked and crispy dry with no flavor the onion and Cilantro and Chile made it alittle better. I was expecting way more flavor. The strawberry lemonade with chamoy was amazing! Over all environment nice decor and atmosphere minus the heat it was very warm inside.

I’d been wanting to try some birria so decided to stop at TJs. I ordered the Ramen and oh let me just tell you it is the best thing ever! I love that this place offers fresh made waters with chamoy. So far the Watermelon and Pineapple ones have been my favorite. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Great little one of a kind place. Friendly fast service, even when busy. Food is delicious. Had the Birria plate for $11.99, added some chiles torreados. Plate comes with 5 tortillas, chopped cilantro and onion and limes. With the homemade salsas for backup, can't go wrong. Felt "encendido" and ready to go after that delicous nosh. And it was more than enough food for two servings if you wanted that.

Very flavorful, craving full-fulling food. Fresh ingredients and kickin' spicy house made hot sauces. We had birria tacos, ramen and some shrimp tacos. The price was very reasonable, and the place was way above the quality you would expect of a counter-service place like that. We'll be back for sure!

When I say this is my absolute favorite birria place, it is. I came here after seeing about it on Instagram. I got the Birriadillas with consome and wow. Not only are you getting a very good deal; 4 birria tacos (regular size! Not the small ones!) With a delicious consome that is absolutely perfect (not too spicy, perfect kick) but you are getting all this for a great price. Compared to many places that primarily serve Birria tacos, this is the only place that gives you FOUR tacos for the price of what most places charge for THREE. Side with lemon, onions and cilantro, it is filling, delicious and traditional. A very nice, modern vibe to the restaurant with traditional Mexican music makes this a place where the OG's and young people can come and enjoy good food. This place caters to everyone. Also, I really enjoy their cucumber lemonade! My only wish is that it wasn't so sweet, I usually order a cup of water so I can water it down. I also wish they made their own pastries, but you can't win them all! Diabetic friendly options for drinks would be great to have, even if it's just zero sugar Powerade 🙏🏻

I wanted to marry whoever made my quesabirria and birria ramen. Im not even joking. I kept saying it and my boyfriend got mad 😂😂 also the consommé is not bland. You’re supposed to add the lime, onions and other things IN the consommé to bring out the flavor duh. Learn how to eat, bad reviewers

I felt that my dish was a bit soupy. Potatoes weren't as thick as I would have like them to be. The birra meat was mediocre at best. Stacked all the condiments. Maybe because of the time of day. I don't know. I wouldn't get the potatoes with birra meat again for $12. The portion size wasn't very much either. I wasn't impressed.. My buddy got a burrito with consomme. That looked tastier than my meal. I'd say burritos and tortas would be best.

Went there for the first time yesterday and it didn't disappoint. I had the Papa Birria and it was pretty good. My wife had the Quesabirria and it was delicious! I got the Mini Street Tacos for my kids and they were great as well. The Cucumber and Lime aquas frescas were bomb! We will definitely be making another trip here in the future!

I'd been wanting to try Birria Tacos for more than a year after discovering them on a food network show. And this place did not disappoint. We were welcomed pleasantly by what turned out to be the owner, and he offered his suggestions based on local popularity. I decided on the standard Birria Taco dish with a side of refried beans. Everything was fresh tasting and bold with flavor. The cantaloupe Agua Fresca to drink was equally amazing. The staff were all friendly and polite. The dining room was clean. The atmosphere was nice. When returning to Houston someday, I'll be revisiting TJBirria to explore more of their menu. 😃

Every bit as good tasting as they look, and that con somme is to die for. So glad this place exist. Make sure to get some Horchata or Melon drink as it is the largest drinks they sell. Only had birria tacos and they were amazingly good.

First let’s start with the good. 1) Customer service good 2) To-go utensils, packets, sauces, limes all great! 3) clean inside Now the bad 1) consume was super plain, no flavor compared to a lot of birria places here 2) meat on the birria tacos was very tiny , as you can see in my picture 3) if you guys have birria in your name, please improve your consume and birria tacos. 4) if you want to know what good birria tacos are, go to taco fuego or tacos el bigotes . I’ve never been disappointed by their flavors. Everything else was great, y’all just need to tweak the food a bit

The birriadilla + consomé combo might be the greatest duo we’ve ever seen since Kobe and Shaq. This is game 6 Michael Jordan levels. Tiger Woods in the 16th hole of the 2005 Master’s levels. OMG. Best birria I've had in a while. We were greeted with a smile. We ordered the foodie platter that was an assortment of birria items, the street tacos, the birria mashed potatoes, refried beans and the birria ramen. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Highly recommended. I gave the atmosphere 3 stars only because there was a large group of about 30 people and it was a little too close for comfort and we couldn't really enjoy our food. Other than that, you have to go.

My second time here and I think it was even better than the first. They have expanded and it obviously didn’t affect their quality. The 4 mini birria tacos for less than $10 really hits the spot for a quick lunch at a great value. Adding cheese and consume (rich broth) for dipping makes the meal a big more filling if you have the appetite. The interior is clean and simple, in a modern way, and the service is attentive.

Ordered two large quesabirrias and two large pepino limonadas with chamoy. The limonada was a 5/5. Amazing! The quesabirrias were really good. A little too much cheese for our liking. If the tortilla could be a little crispier next time that would be dope. Definitely will be coming back though!

My friend had some TJ's catering for an event and I copied her. And it was so good. Called and got it for my own celebration. Catering was easy. Pricing was clear. They provided plates, plasticware, enough limes for tacos and tequila + cilantro and onions. Can't wait to go back and try some individual meals.

Ambiance: Nice Service: Good and prompt Bathroom cleanliness: Good However, my reason for 4 stars was because the food lacked flavor, the meat was dry and the birria broth was small. Don't expect to get a table right away - it's a small location so it has a maximum occupancy of only 40-44 people and there aren't a lot of tables for a big party. Also, come ready to spend money - prices for the portions are a bit high between $8.00 - 14.00.

Three trips in less than two weeks. .... I just want to drink the consume out of the cup ... the flavors are incredible. The agua frescas are truly fresh and made on site. Skip the sides for the most part. The small portion of the sides vs the cost ... not really worth it. Except maybe the chile tornados. But they are hot hot hot.

Tacos were alright. I waited 25 minutes to go and Birria tacos were good. The Birria noodles are over hyped and I didn't see any meat only juice and Ramen, they were tasteless. I personally think the noodles were flavorless. I dont know who would think Birria Ramen are good failed at having taste buds, however tacos were ok..$10 for 4 small tacos...I think they were good but not enough to brag on. Small portions as well. Not much meat in the tacos, the seem to skimp on meat and you get lots of cheese. The cheese was kind of chewy but it complimented the tacos along with the birria sauce.

The food is decent, salsa really spicy (in a good way) and the consome is really flavorful. Unfortunately, the prices are very high for the amount of food that is given. After tax and tip, my meal was $19, which included 3 small quesadilla pieces (imagine slightly larger than Dorito chip size) and one taco. I will not go back, as there are many other spots in Houston that serve the same thing that is cheaper and better.

Decided to try this new Birra taco restaurant close to where I live.... Birra is all the rage right now so I decided to give a try. I had the three Birra tacos with consome on the side paired with a Mexican coke cause why not !? The tacos were fresh and shocked my taste buds . The dipping consome had a fresh, tantalizing flavor .. Either that or the spicy hotsauce which is a must . Optional cilantro and onions were served on the side which is a great idea if someone does not care for these condiments . Customer service was great and inviting . The young lady carried a nice conversation and checked on me several times during my dinner. This place is a must try and welcome this restaurant to the hood .

First time trying TJ's. The staff was friendly, the menu was not very extensive, and the prices were fair. I ordered the street tacos plate with beef and chicken. They only have four options for meats, beef, chicken, al pastor, and birria. The beef had a good flavor to it, and chicken was good also. The only thing missing was the charro beans, almost all mexican restaurants that have street taco plate, it comes with charro beans. That ashame because it would have completed the meal. No chips and salsa were available, not even to order. The food was good enough to deserve another visit, so I will make another when in the mood for a torta.

Tried this place today for the very first time and the food was excellent!! Very very good! The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 starts was the service by the girl who took our order! She had an ugly attitude, she was rude and both me and my husband felt very rushed. We weren’t done ordering, tried to ask questions but she seemed annoyed and kept giving us our total without asking if we wanted something else, when we still wanted to order more. We didn’t get everything we wanted because she gave us a total two times when we weren’t done so we just stopped asking for more items. But the food was really good! Nice flavor and everything. Just that girl made it unpleasant.
