We've eaten here around 10 times now. Never had a bad experience. Food is delicious, unique, and amazing quality. We've always received good service. We've enjoyed eating out on the balcony on beautiful days and inside on wet/windy days. The kids meal portions are generous. We've been pleased with the various things we've ordered each time including fish tacos, seafood fries, fried green tomatoes, burgers. Would definitely recommend. Decent pricing for a good seafood restaurant.

Love this place!! Amanda was amazing - she took excellent care of us and was one of the best servers we have ever had! We had the trigger fish tacos, Hawaiian tacos, and trigger fish sandwich. Also you gotta try the mango passionfruit tea... it was delicious. I will definitely be back!!

Such a fun atmosphere with super friendly staff! The Bahama Grill was amazing! P.S. They also offer a military discount! Update: Just visited again and was not disappointed! Consistently good. NOTE: If you order the bourbon glazed wings, be sure to ask for additional sauce!

Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach was great! The atmosphere was fantastic with outdoor seating and windows facing the gulf. It just looks like one of those beach restaurants you want to eat at. Now to the food. The food was good as well, but the proportions were off from other restaurant prices and proportions we had. The Royal Reds dish was great but lacked everything except the shrimp! I had a good bit of large shrimp but not hardly anything else that goes with it such as potatoes sausage. We enjoyed Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach but will consider alternatives due to the food proportions and price.

This place was wonderful great atmosphere wonderful staff. I had the shrimp roll which was delicious, but I must say when it came to my husband's food he had the Bahama red fish we both would say it was a religious experience. My husband recommends to pair the dish with a pain killer to bring out all the subtle nuisances.

So delicious! I love the convenience of being able to pay at the table. Everything came out so quickly. The drinks were really good I would highly recommend the Biloxi blue. The alligator was really good I would definitely suggest getting a second dipping sauce. The fried pickles were perfect! I got the shrimp sandwiches. So good!

Holy cow. Couldn’t have been better food or service. The view was fabulous, the staff was patient and helpful! Both the manager and our waitress Abbey were awesome. Abbie was super knowledgeable of the menu- gave us northerners a good lesson on our fish :) Definitely stop here. Pro-tip. Order a frozen strawberry margarita.

Great food excellent staff. Got the captain's platter.. it was excellent. Alligator, shrimp and fish were all cooked to perfection. There is online seating for party of 7 or more. My party of 8 didn't have to wait long at all. Waitress was fast and prompt.

There were so many good options on the menu that we had trouble deciding. The prices are reasonable and our server, Mari, was super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The smoked fish dip was a nice, cool way to start the meal. The Mahi tacos are absolutely amazing.

Happened upon this amazing place during our overnight stay in Gulfport and we were not disappointed!! The coconut shrimp is THE BEST!! Highly recommend to anyone wanting the best seafood. Asia was a great waitress!! Loved that the manager stopped by to see how things were, everyone was super friendly! We will be back!!

Excellent experience start to finish. We ate outside on the deck and it was picture perfect. Staff is top notch and the food is on point. Good drink selection for adults as well. Ate here 3 years ago and the quality was the same high standard! If we vacation in the gulf again we'll definitely be stopping in here again.

We tried the triggerfish tacos and shrimp tacos. They were delicious. We also got our name on the wait-list online before we went and we were then seated right away when we arrived. I'd recommend doing this because the place fills up and was very busy. We also got half price drinks for being on the wait-list. One thing that was a bit odd was the bartender charged $9 for a $6 beer, wanted us to just run our card through quickly without giving us much chance to look the bill over (and didn't seem to want to print off the bill after we caught that)- but then when we asked her about this she just took the charge off completely, so that strangely worked out. We otherwise did have an awesome view overlooking the sea too so that was the highpoint for us. We also had an appetizer, the fish dip. It kind of reminded us of tuna salad and was served with saltine crackers so really nothing special for what it was and what we paid for it. The rest of the food we had was great. As many others have done, we also recommend this place.

We went on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Short wait of 10-15 minutes. We took advantage of discounted drinks from bar while you wait. List is on wall next to host stand. Outdoor seating is available but was pretty cold when we were there. Crystal was a great waitress for us. Gave me a taste of a beer to make sure I liked it before buying. Good recommendations on food as well. Lots of menu choices. Manager was on point to fix my wife’s order. She’s gluten free and he made sure it was done correctly. Would go back with no concerns.

I love Shaggys! They have the best wait staff. They are super friendly, very attentive, and very fast. The atmosphere is great. It always makes me happy when I walk through the doors. The food is delicious. I try something new every time. The fried pickles, coconut shrimp, and seafood nacho appetizers are so good. The portions are so big that we always get a doggy bag. We ordered the the grilled oysters & the Capitans plate & substituted the catfish for grilled red fish. The drink of the day was a strawberry cosmopolitan very tasty. Nice place with nice views, helpful staff, good food & cocktail.

We’re so glad we passed through Gulfport, MS only to discover this fun Shaggy’s experience! Great food & great service! Every restaurant needs at least one server like Jack! I’m pretty sure he loves his job, and locals probably come back and ask for him! We were traveling home to Athens, GA after our 8+ day Texas trip when we decided the return home would be more fulfilling along the coast. We were right! Thanks, Shaggy’s!

Stopped in for a late 2pm lunch and had such a nice experience! They were a bit busy, but the server said they are actually even busier most times. I saw a sign with special drink pricing for people waiting…such a great gesture! The food and drinks came out super fast, and everything was fresh and delicious! We were in and out in less than an hour, really enjoyed the pretty beach view, and had no trouble parking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the pricing was great! We are talking about maybe going back for dinner…highly recommend!

Recommended by a friend, we stopped in at Shaggy’s on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Blake was a terrific server and made my dog and I feel right at home! The blue crab dip and Pincher Poppers were both delicious and I ate every last morsel! They even have a menu for Dogs! Beautiful view of the gulf from the deck, very friendly staff all around. We will definitely return when we are back in the area!

First time visiting Shaggy's on 2/14/2023; was quite impressed with how the crew worked together like a fine-oiled machine. Everyone was very nice and attentive. Now on to the food. I had the Trigger Fish over Coconut rice while my husband, Shawn, had the Captain's Platter. We shared an appetizer of Coconut shrimp w/ Orange Zing sauce. When I say Shawn is not adventurous in trying new foods, especially of the sauce category, he's definitely not one to jump in, however, this time, he did a taste test and before I knew it, he was dipping like a pro. The food/service was so good, we couldn't decide to go anywhere else the following day, so it brought us back to Shaggy's a second day in a row. This time we both tried the Red Snapper Specialty - Red Snapper over Coconut Rice with Sherry Cream sauce, served up with a Miami Vice frozen adult drink. Then a sneaky waitress, Ren, got me with a birthday brownie...singing included by the Shaggy Team. As Biloxi/Gulfport area has in recent years become one of our favorite places to relax, we cannot recommend Shaggy's enough to any newcomers/tourists. We cannot stress enough that the service was impeccable, and even with a shift change on our second visit, we were promptly taken care of and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We would like shout out to the folks that took care of us; one young man we didn't get his name, but he was the fella that transported the food out of the kitchen and he sashayed and balanced that food like nobody's business. From the first day, kudos to Mary and Abbie (and fella who transported food from the kitchen) and Bree; 2nd day, Brandon, Ren, Megan, (and fella from kitchen). I'd have to say the whole team seem to enjoy their jobs; upon arriving the 2nd day, I noticed one of the servers was outside dancing while he worked. Happy folks at Shaggy's so it is no surprised they do a good job. We give them 5 stars and we WILL be going back to Shaggy's in Gulfport. Great job, Team Shaggy! Extremely welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step in the door. Everyone was so pleasant throughout the entire experience. Our server Sophia was such a sweetheart and made sure our drinks were always full and that we had what we needed the whole time. Food was great and the view was perfect, too!

We came for lunch. Four our appetizer, we got the Blackened Shrimp Spinach Dip, which was amazing. My husband got the Mahi-mahi tacos and I got the Yellowtail Tuna Bowl. My tuna bowl would have been perfect if the avocado slices weren’t just for looks. I feel like this usually isn’t the case, but they were rock hard and completely inedible. My husband enjoyed his tacos. I also got the Biloxi Blue which was tasty and had a nice kick to it. I forgot to take a picture though 😔

Tried this place for the first time at the beginning of October and again this weekend. Honestly? I’d make the nine hour drive a third time just to eat more beach balls! Shaggy’s is the first place I have ever been to that fries mashed potatoes and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The fried shrimp, catfish, and shrimp trio (garlic butter, bacon-wrapped bourbon, and coconut) were all delicious as well. And the view of the beach while having dinner outdoors is just the cherry on top. Loved visiting this place twice, I even bought a souvenir shirt to wear back in Texas. Thanks for having us!

We had the best time at Shaggys in Gulfport. We brought our dog Krillin, and he was treated like an absolute king! We loved that they are dog friendly. And even had a dog menu and brought his food in a Frisbee that we could take home with us. The staff was the friendliness staff I've ever encountered at any restaurant! We will definitely be back!!

Absolutely perfect beach restaurant. Got a couple fish dishes and their famous Burgers! Nathan is the man, hilarious and added to the experience. We wanted somewhere with great views and good food, and Shaggy's delivered on both. Our server, Kacie, was so sweet and attentive. I can't stop thinking about the amazing burger I had, and the jalapeno hush puppies were sooooo good. One of my sister's had the shrimp poboy, which was phenomenal. Another had the triggerfish. I'm not normally a fish fan, but it was so good and light, I'll definitely have it next time. 10000/10, definitely recommend.

Great experience! It was perfect dinner spot for right after our full day at Ship Island. We enjoyed the stuffed avocado with tuna and the bahama redfish grill. Aht, aht, aht...I went here because of the raging word of mouth reviews...Disappointed! The staff was amazing...((ATTENTIVE & PLEASANT)) but the food....the Famous Beach Balls were mediocre, the shrimp pasta was bland, TASTELESS...the salad was good! My son enjoyed his burger & fries....My other 2 kids did not eat their food at all....3 Stars 4 Staff!

Let's say 4.5! Shaggy's overlooks the Gulf and has great outdoor seating. It was our first stop in Gulfport, celebrating our 11rh anniversary (married on 11/11/11!) Very Coastal feel. The margarita mix is made in house and is incredible. The servers take your order on a handheld device, which means the margaritas made it to our table in record time. We had the quesadilla with smoked chicken. The chicken was delicious! I had the beach balls --fried loaded mashed potatoes. These were good albeit a little dry. Drenching them in the queso was the antidote. Since the beach balls are the most popular app, maybe I am the only one that finds them a little dry. I do recommend them. Beautiful 80 degree day in November and I look forward to coming back.

So we saw a sign that said Shaggy’s and decided to go in. We figured, it’s on the water so something with fish??? When we first walk in the host takes us to our table and asks us if he can get us a drink. Then another guy, I think Kyle, comes to ask if we need anything while we are waiting for our waitress. We hold him and ask him 21 questions which he directs us to the redfish. Our waitress Crystal comes and we are all taken care of. Food is great, the service read great and everyone was just so darn friendly. We aren’t from here so our first restaurant right off the plane, we scored!

The food was was absolutely terrific. Jack was super amazing. He completed my weird request of getting a cup of queso which it’s really great also I would highly recommend getting the stuffed avocados and fried green tomatoes. I tried the mahi-mahi tacos but it wasn’t for me the sauce was great on there but I didn’t care to much for the mahi-mahi, you should try it because my tongue pallet isn’t like yours. I also tried the red velvet cheesecake, it was ok and nice and moist.

WOW! Shaggy's Harbor Bar & Grill was recommended to us by another camper and we can not tell you how impressed we were! The food was amazing we sat outside and got to watch the birds fly over the gulf. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hostess was so sweet I wish I could remember her name. She was a young red head and there wasn’t a question about the restaurant she couldn’t answer. Our waitress was Heather and she was so fast! She talked us right into the beach ball appetizer and omg they were amazing! Heather was so understanding with Caspian having a complete meltdown durning lunch when he chucked a fork from the second floor into our truck bed in the parking lot.

First time visiting the area. We chose Shaggy's because they had gluten free options, outdoor seating and were dog friendly which was awesome for us. We had three different servers, so I apologize for not remembering them all, but they were all great. Casey is the one name I can remember and was just as friendly and helpful as the rest. The staff were very informative and got us answers for our many dietary needs. Hit Shaggys up if you are in the area for sure !

Not nearly as good food as the Pass Christian location. The coconut shrimp was sublime but the roasted clams had about twice the cheese and salt as needed. The mahi mahi tacos were not recommended. Great service and a splendid view otherwise.

In town for Crusin the Coast. Special of the day crab cakes entree. The crab cakes and the mashed potatoes were in the running for the most flavorful. Husband had fish sandwich which was also very tasty. Appreciate our most attentive server. Also the view of the beach can't be beat.

Had a group of 9 people and was sat at a table within 10 min. If we were in my hometown of Weatherford, Tx., it would have been 30 min. or longer. Even after ordering, it was only 15-20 min. till we got our food. Being from out of town, we tried each others food and it was all spectacular!!!! From shrimp and grits, lobster mac & cheese, bacon wrapped shrimp to cheeseburgers....IT WAS ALL GOOD!!! I did get the Rum Punch and a Ghost in the Machine beer, the first being with 3 different rums and the latter being 8.5% alcohol, I was feeling pretty saucy afterwards. LOL Overall, it was probly the best experience I have ever had at restaurant. The staff was, for a lack of words, wonderful. Even the people not catering to us. It is a MUST STOP place here. 100% recommend!!!!! Thank you all for a wonderful lunch!!!!

Jack Jack was awesome. Service was on point. Ordered the big Kahuna and it was SOO GOOD. The downfall was I ordered my burger Med Rare and it came out Well. It was offered to be replaced but I declined, it was still juicy and delish. I travel for work and I can’t wait to be back soon.

This place was great for a casual, fun eating choice. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos, and my husband had the fried shrimp platter. Both were excellent! Atmosphere reminded me of a Jimmy Buffet song. Water views. And pets are allowed on the deck. Here were 3 Goldens enjoying the evening. See pics.

1/17/23 I ordered a grilled (Captain's Platter) seafood platter for two. My wife had a tomato stuffed avocado. The avocado was green, hard and fairly tasteless. The sad part is that the person that cut that avocado knew that instantly, yet served it anyway. Guess it is better to get money for something the customer thinks they were ordering, even if it is not delivered. She also had drum fish, which she said was good. However, the remoulade sauce had no horse radish. Normal remoulade sauce has some horse radish. She loves remoulade normally. She did not care for their version. The crab soup was good. The fries on the seafood platter were excellent. Crispy and well seasoned. The shrimp were nice. The crab cakes were small, but good. The fish were cooked, but too wet for my taste. I like them cooked a little more with less moisture. The hush puppies were not well seasoned and heavy. I have eaten a lot of hush puppies and these were near the bottom. The atmosphere was good and so was the service. I do not like getting the bill with the waitress standing there to take payment. I usually like time to get the bill and look it over, consider the service and then think about the tip. So I felt a little crowded and rushed with the waitress standing three. I should have asked for more time. I would go back, but no grilled Captain's platter for me. Probably would have been better fried.

The food was good, but the thing that really takes this place up a notch is their service. All of the servers worked effortlessly together to ensure drinks were always full and that it was an enjoyable experience without feeling like they were there every two seconds. Our waitress was Kaitlyn, and she was playful, knowledgeable, and really made sure we were well taken care of. I had the Bahama something which was good, but in my opinion could have used a little bit of spice to counter the sweet in the coconut rice and teriyaki glaze. I added salt, pepper, and more of the pineapple salsa. A slice of lime would be a nice addition too. The view was awesome from the back bar area as well. Overall very pleased with our choice.

So glad this place popped up on a Google search! The staff and food are absolutely amazing!! Abbie was my server and she was absolutely wonderful! I had the Baha Grill with trigger fish and it was absolutely delicious, fish was cooked perfectly, and had the house made key lime pie and that was perfect, left absolutely stuffed. Also had the Rasta Punch cocktail, yummy, just be mindful, it is a sweet cocktail 😁

My husband and I loved our first Shaggy experience!!!! I had the Grilled Redfish over Coconut Rice and it was delicious!!! My husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and fries and it was amazing too!!! But perhaps the best parts of our time there was Shandi our server and our Jalapeño Peach Margarita! A local recommended Shaggy's to us. She worked at the casino & shared this spot over any of their restaurants. So we were off and driving up we knew this place would be fun. Hands down great views as Khi greeted us and made us feel at home, sitting us outdoors where the covering was shade and the breeze hit just right.🤗 Shandi was our waitress and her patience for 1st timers, professionalism and service was outstanding. Went to Shaggy's today and went in to put our name in for a table of 7. They told me it would be about a 20 minute wait. They took my number to text me when our table was ready, I walked out to my vehicle and they literally text me 2 minutes later that our table was ready. Once we were seated our waitress came right to our table and took our drink order and had them ar our table within a few minutes. She took our order for appetizers and once they were brought to our table and she checked our drinks she took our dinner order and it was out within moments. We got gator bites and blue crab claws. Both were delicious and were both had plenty for all of us. I got the Captain's Seafood Platter, which had fried oysters, fried shrimp and catfish along with frys and jalapeno hush puppies. For dessert I had peanutbutter pie, once again yummy. Stephanie was awesome and I definitely recommend this place.

The atmosphere was excellent. Open air seating, authentic coastal foods, a little something for everyone. My family wanted to go back again and again. Pretty pricey depending on what you are consuming. The kids meals come served inside a Frisbee "plate" and has their logo and info which makes an excellent souvenir. We ordered the same things both times; tuna stuffed avocado, shrimp trio and blueberry cobbler white chocolate cheesecake. YUMMY!!! All the staff were professional and friendly. Jessica was our server. She is the standard for customer care and friendliness/happiness. The whole experience left us happy. Way above. way beyond.. We were visiting from Omaha, Nebraska. Our Vrbo reservation had gone sideways, and we had nowhere to stay. On top of all that, we had our anxious rescue dog with us. But a beer sounded good and we heard Shaggy’s in Gulfport was dog-friendly. We headed over just before a storm. Kyle and the manager (sorry we didn’t get your name, Sir) at Shaggy’s found us a table to accommodate our dog. When the storm struck, Kyle served us inside the boarded-up outdoor bar during the driving rainstorm. He put on a trash bag so he could take care of us. Fun atmosphere. Some of the staff were super nice, others were pretty darn rude. The food was fine but obviously a ton of thought wasn't put into each dish. The shrimp tacos are just that. Shrimp and tacos. A cup of sauce on the side. I think there may have been 2 or 3 shreds of cabbage in there. But the shrimp was seasoned nicely... so... just fine but nothing to write home about. They had a fun drink menu and prices were decent. Cute place to bring a group of people with or without kiddos to really enjoy the atmosphere and beach view. If you're looking for a fun lunch or dinner spot, i recommend it.

The host and hostess (staff members at the front entry) were really courteous and friendly. I already knew that I wanted to sit facing the beach. Chris greeted me very quickly and with patience as he gave me some suggestions to try. I went with the buffalo ciabatta chicken, chicken nachos, and a frozen wild berry margarita. Everything was delicious and it was nice to be checked upon by both Chris and another staff member (manager perhaps?). The portion size for the nachos, a great surprise AND they're good. I would have stayed longer, but the winds picked up. I'm glad that I stopped in.

First off the service was so fast. Brandon was an amazing server. We are from Atlanta and love to come by when we are down for the casinos. The beach balls are an amazing appetizer. We actually spent a few days in biloxi and wanted to try somewhere different on the way. Our dog was traveling with us, as she often does, so we went out of our way to find a dog friendly restauran. Not only are they kid friendly, but ultra dog friendly also. (Including a menu for the dogs) Everyone there was so helpful, polite, kind, and patient. It was so nice in the middle of a long drive. Most of the food was pretty darn tasty, especially the Mac and cheese, so good. We didn't like the breading on the fry of the beach balls, that's the only ding on the food really. Would definitely go back, strong recommend, especially with a dog.

Looking for a family friendly place with fab view and amazing food? This is the place. Excellent service too. Kids had the chicken tenders and pasta Alfredo with sausage and bacon. Husband had the pulled pork on a bun and scarfed it down. I had the Ceasar salad with Mahi Mahi and it was so savory I didn't even need the salad dressing.

Craig was my bartender/server. He is always polite with the right amount of sass to make it fun. He offered great suggestions on something for dinner and helped stear me away from all the usual things I get when I visit. As always the food and atmosphere was amazing! Craig went out of the way to get me my HOT sauce from the kitchen. I wanted extra spicy and they delivered. Honestly I have never had a bad meal, but Gulfport has been my favorite location. You walk in as a stranger and walk out as friends. This is my local favorite. It may seem like a tourist location because of the beach, but this place is that and more.

We had someone taking our drink order immediately upon sitting down which impressed us. Someone else brought our drinks very quickly after and brought our appetizer, I think her name was Cassidy. They informed us Asia was our server and it took us quite a while to hear from Asia. After we met Asia, we saw her standing around talking to others frequently. The appetizer came out but no plates and we had to ask another server for plates. Actually I think it was the manager that brought them. All during the meal we were wanting some more fills for our glasses, but Asia was busy talking. Blake, the server at the table next to ours was so kind and quickly realized our situation and brought us more drinks and came up to us several times during the meal to see if we needed anything else. We left our obligatory 18% tip when paying for Asia, but we made sure to slip Blake some extra because we appreciated him so much. We did tell the manager about the situation. The food on the other hand was amazing! Shaggy's is awesome and never disappoints. As long as you have the right server you will be 110% happy with your visit! Don't go by our one experience with the one server, because we've been there several times and this is the only time this has ever happened. Shaggy's food is amazing!

The staff was great, but this is my second visit to a shaggys restaurant and I'm now in my car eating wings from a gas station. Yep, that bad. The food is very sub par. We came in a group where we ordered nachos and chips and dip. The chips were old and cold. I really don't like to give a bad review, but our waiter, Blake, was probably the best part of our encounter with shaggys. At least everyone loved the monkey. Lol. Oops, forgot about the general manager that thinks that the customer is always wrong. The rest of the house was great

My husband and I came down for vacation and was looking for great shrimp and food. We saw the great reviews and decided to try it. It was awesome! He ordered the Shrimp and I ordered the Big Pig Barbeque sandwhich. OH MY.. it was wonderful. We had to come back for another meal, found it was the best place to eat with great atmosphere, and all the staff was so friendly. I would suggest the Stuffed Crab Triggerfish, the general manager showed us to our table and suggested it and he did not disappoint. I even bought a Shaggy shirt!

We ALWAYS schedule a stopover in Biloxi/Gulfport just so that we can eat at this WONDERFUL restaurant!! First--the service is TEN-star!! The food is FIFTEEN-star!!! This is our favorite place on the entire Gulf Coast to eat!!! You MUST try the Royal Red peel-n-eat shrimp. Oh my gosh--it's like eating baby lobster!!! And the crab claws are amazing!! Everything is always so fresh, and cooked to order!!! Do NOT miss this experience!!!

What a great place! This is the second Shaggys location we have visited in two days! Don’t try any tourist trap, this place is excellent! Today we had beach balls, more fried shrimp, and the jerk wings were awesome!! 10 out of 10 with amazing customer service to boot! Fantastic as a nice low key, informal location for drinks and seafood. The wait staff are friendly and energetic. The bar and seating areas have cool colors and a fun vibe. The appetizers are delicious and work well with a cold beer or mixed drink. The mixed drinks are good for college frat party level, but don’t expect single malts or too shelf- but they wouldn’t go with the ambiance in any case. Great mixes and a refreshing assortment of light and darker beers and IPAs. The dinner choices are delicious and seafood both fresh and well prepared. The coconut rice is amazing and could be used as a desert.... it is that good. The bar area is bright and welcoming and bathrooms nice a clean. Love the painted theme that adds positive energy. Overall nice place to spend the afternoon or evening with friends.

We had an amazing experience at Shaggys. I highly recommend checking in via the online waitlist ahead of time. We had a 40 minute wait but we’re seated almost immediately upon arrival. It was very busy (cruisin the coast week) when we went but there was no shortage of customer service from the moment we walked in the door. we stopped here on our drive from georgia back to texas with our dogs. beautiful location right across the street from the beach, good food with big portions, and pet friendly, with some food options for the dogs as well. the staff was very friendly and helpful, and our server Mari was excellent. we got the trigger fish tacos, the seafood platter, the shrimp poboy, and an order of fried green tomatoes, and it was all delicious.

Very good food and nice views from the sitting area. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the crab cakes and fried tomatoes and it was delicious. Also you have to get an order of the fried mashed potatoes.

Hung out all day, bacteria ridden algae flushed from the Mississippi River caused no swimming at the beach so we sat at the outside bar facing the beach and drank and snacked and watched the local school track teams run up and down the beach all day. I tried every margarita they had throughout the day. And the bartender was super nice. And we met and chatted with other vacationers and locals hanging out.

Plenty of seafood places in this area to choose from. I think this Shaggy's is a definite addition to the stop list. Atmosphere is wonderful inside or outside. Nice views of the Gulf when dining outside. Outdoor bar is very nice too. Mixed drink menu is better than most and prices are practical. Food is always good. The crab cakes for an appetizer is always a perfect start. My favorite is any grilled fish here with the coconut rice. Key lime pie with raspberry sauce is a good way to finish. You won't be sorry for stopping in to eat or drink.

High hopes for this place based on the 4.7 Google rating. It was good but not great. My daughter really enjoyed the seafood pasta, and my wife enjoyed her crab cake sandwich, but the catfish basket was just ok and the sweet tea had a funny flavor. The atmosphere was what we were looking for, and our server was very friendly. But we were placed by the door leading to the outside deck and it was opening and closing constantly, blowing in cold air on us and our food. Someone has to sit there, I suppose, so it wasn't that upsetting (but thought I should mention it as a warning for others). One more thing, one of the draws for us was the Beach Balls appetizer. Again, it was good, but not as good as it sounded on the menu...fried mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon? That great idea should have been a home run, but the potatoes were a bit dry and overpowered the cheese.

My boyfriend and I went to “brunch” here this past weekend and had a great experience with Jess! She was sweet and attentive and had a lord of the rings tattoo which is always a bonus of course. Food was delicious and mimosas were GREAT. Only reason this wasn’t a 5 star visit is because we went for brunch and expected bottomless mimosas because there was a rumor going around that y’all had bottomless mimosas. While at the Mississippi gulf coast, we went to Shaggy's twice; once in Biloxi for lunch then in Gulfport for dinner. Shaggy's has a casual beachy feel and I recommend going if you get the chance. It's been a couple of days since I posted and realized I didn't even mention the food in my review. I had the mahi mahi tacos on one visit -- fantastic!! The pineapple salsa on the tacos was wonderful. I normally don't like a fruity salsa, peferring pico de gallo on my fish tacos, but my mind was changed. On the other visit, I got a cheeseburger, which was huge! I cut it in half, ate one half and ate my side salad and was stuffed. There was a group of six of us and everyone really enjoyed their meals. I do have to say that I think I like the Biloxi location just a little more. I was given a koozie and Gulfport wanted $1 for one LOL Seriously, though, we really enjoyed our visits to both locations and service was great; both servers were so friendly and on the ball. If we're ever in the area again, we live in Missouri, we'll definitely be going back.

When he took our order, his accent sounded just like Vision. He even entertained our young children with magic by making quarters rain from the ceiling. The food was good, but they need work on their gluten-free claims. Although things can be made gluten-free, every substitution to make it gluten-free added to the price. The increase is not because of the additional cost of making gluten-free food, but they charge for substitutions. In the end, they brought out sides that were not gluten free and not ordered on the same plate.

Great location and friendly staff. Very family friendly. The food was normal bar food. However the drinks weren't the greatest. We had margaritas, mojitos, and an old fashioned, none were really that great, they were also out of all ciders and IPAs. Dont let the drinks stop you though, they food was good.
