Loved it. Better than Aztecas. Great service with lovely, kind staff. The live music was extremely pleasant, not too loud and added beautifully to the atmosphere. The margaritas are delicious and so are the smoothies! The food was excellent and so affordable. I wish we would have tried this place 3 years ago when we first moved here so we could've enjoyed it more!

We are glad we chose to go back to El Saltillo Mexican restaurant. We were tired of the same flavors everywhere we went. It’s surprising flavorful , I had shrimp Berrito my husband had chili relleno and D plate. The wait staff is friendly and the dining room is clean. Thank you El Saltillo till next time.

Service was fast and friendly, no complaints. Katherine L. took good care of us. Food came out fast. Salsa was on the salty side. The grilled skirt steak was perfectly cooked, very tasty. But the chimichanga was more like a burrito, soft and not crunchy. Beans and rice were lukewarm. The worst item on both our dishes was the "guacamole". Nasty green puree, slimy and nasty tasting. I've never gotten "guacamole" like this in any other Mexican restaurant. It's going to keep us from returning. See pic.

Very nice restaurant. Clean and nicely decorated. This is my 3th time visiting and I have nothing negative to say. I never really cared for Mexican food, but since I came here the first time I fell in love with the food they serve. The Margaritas are really good too. I had the Cascadia Texana.

This is a weekly lunch meeting place. Shay is a fabulous server. She remembers my lunch & is always spot on. The food is always good. We typically get the same most of the time but have tried various over time. Chicken quesadilla with cheese & veggies very good as is the fajitas platter.

We frequently visit the El Saltillo on Cedar Lake rd and have always enjoyed it. So we decided to try the El Saltillo on hwy 49. While this one isn't terrible, it is just mediocre at best. It was crowded and overly loud. The service wasn't bad, just a little slow. It seems odd that some tables have salt and pepper on them but many don't. I think from now on we will stick to the Cedar Lake location.

Very busy on my visit. Server wasn't attentive, and forgot some of our food, which was brought to us cold. Seasoning on food is light, but prices are reasonable.

Sometimes the food is good sometimes not. Last night was not. Ordered Nachos Carbon and an enchilada, we got what looked like a thrown together half order instead of the full order and the food was cold.

A little short staffed right now due to everyone and their mama being unemployed and getting paid for it... oh. Yes. Back to the subject at hand. Chips were nice and fresh - always had a full basket. All of the staff was hard working at waited on you practically hand and foot. Our table of 6 got seated very quickly and our food was out in a jiffy! The tea was extremely sweet. Like maybe the sweetest tea I've ever tasted in my entire life.... and I'm from the south. So, they overdid it on that. Just get half and half tea when you go and don't forget the queso!!

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! The food was excellent and the service was spot on even though the place was completely packed!! My wife and I were were discussing posting a review within the first minute of getting our food! Also the restaurant is decorated very well and the food and margaritas are great! This restaurant became our favorite place on the coast as soon as we tried the food!! Simply Amazing!!

I hosted a small office retirement on 4/1/2021 for a coworker/friend. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and service was great. The waitresses and manager were so sweet I wish I could remember their names to compliment them personally for such great service

The queso and salsa to start are excellent. The menu seems really large but they have several items with different names that are the same dish. Chimichanga is excellent, California Burrito is my personal favorite. Asked for some hot sauce and they brought me a dish of something with no heat and bad flavor. The waitresses have all been exceptional. One odd thing us that when you come in, many times the person responsible for seating you us MIA, and you just stand there. Everything this has happened (3 out of 5) rest of the staff just looks at you. Only real complaint.

So good🏆🏆🏆 - we weren't even planning on stopping by, but pulled in anyway - oh wow - what a nice surprise! The restaurant is huge - lots of room and the service is excellent💯!! Food was very good which is the only reason I gave 3 stars. Worst service I have had in a very long time!!!! Our food came, and no silverware. We waited for a minute to hopefully get someone's attention but no one came. My husband had to get it himself from a stack of rolled silverware on a table. Our server was passing and saw this and said NOTHING!!!! He never came back to check on our food or the fact that 3 of the 5 of us needed refills. Actually, I had to flag him down again when we were trying to pay. He seemed more distracted walking around doing nothing than doing his job!! Very disappointed. I am also a server, and I set people to a high standard...he didn't even try. Haven't decided if it's worth another chance.

This is our family's #1 go to Restaurant. The Restaurant is always clean and following all safety measures, every other table is available for dine in . I have personally observed, sanitization of every booth and seating area.. It just makes me feel safe to see the precautions of all employees with sanitization and cleaning.

This restaurant is our favorite when we go on vacation to those places or when we pass by that place on the way home, its food is very delicious and generous, the place is very comfortable and clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the manager is the Señor Jose is very attentive and cordial. The last time we passed, my friend tasted a delicious piña colada with breaded shrimp and I a delicious shrimp quesadilla with an ice tea OMG !! and a super delicious cheese dip with chips and salsa

Strangely this place is sometimes great and other times not so great. The last time we went it was fantastic. This goes with the food and sometimes the service. I love the chorizo queso always. I wish their fajitas always came out sizzling. I say take your chances and try it.

Very polite, kind, and quick. The food was equally amazing. I got the combo "m" - steak flauta, steak quesadilla, and a poblano(I think). I will definitely be back to try more of their food!

Dinner was great. Service was great. Only 4* because, for no apparent reason, they couldn't me a frozen Cuervo margarita for me. So they made one "as close as they could get it" on the rocks. I still enjoyed the "replacement" margarita. But I wanted a frozen Cuervo rita. I just didn't understand why they couldn't make it for me.

Weirdest taco I've ever had. The ground beef tasted like a plain hamburger without any of the expected seasoning (cumin, etc). Other than that, both the food and service are very good. The shredded beef was delicious and they make a good chile relleno. They also make great margaritas.

This place saved my vacation. Between New Orleans to Gulfport, Biloxi to Mobile, and back to Pensacola, El Saltillo was a diamond in the rough. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was great, and the restaurant was super clean. I had some of the best Mexican style tacos I have ever had. Parking was a little weird because of the shape of the parking lot, but I would park in a ditch to eat here if I had to. There were two major Mexican restaurants to choose from in the area when we were there, and I am happy that I chose El Saltillo.

We had a chicken torta and grond beef chimichangas meal. The torta was good... great flavor with plenty of grilled chicken. My chimichangas was big but pretty boring. The meat had very little seasoning. Basically ok but it's not something I would go back for. Overall I prefer El Rancho on Pass Road hands down.

I had 2 choices for Mexican food on Hwy 49 and this is the one that was recommended. I am from Los Angeles where even the taco trucks serve exceptional Mexican cuisine, so it's almost unfair for me to rate a Mexican restaurant here. If you don't eat Mexican food a few times a month, as I do, El Saltilli is good. Definitely get the margarita with Jose Cuervo and ask for the hot salsa.
