Reviews of Little Bird
Amy Shepherd
Highly recommend!! The menu has something for everyone...vegan, gluten free, or bacon and pork! Veronica was a wonderful server and made great recommendations. The food came out quickly and was exactly as ordered. Appreciated that I could sub gluten free toast in my dish. The fruit was fresh and everything was cooked to perfection! Will definitely come back next time we're in town. Bonus, it's next to a comic shop and across the street from a coffee shop!!

I had a great breakfast here. I had the sweet potato hash that was excellent. It’s very unique. It has sliced not cubes sweet potatoes with lentils, corn, tomatoes, etc and a curry type spice with an egg over it. Very tasty and unique flavors. I also had a sourdough toast with apple butter. It’s not a basic breakfast. Every plate I saw looked good and we’ll proportioned. Good find. Five minute walk from the JW and Grand Hotel.

Brunch was delicious. Great food presentation. The mimosa grapefruit was refreshing. The staff was very friendly. Our waiter was great with recommendations and personal attention. Would definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.

Good place to eat lunch. My first impression is that the atmospheric theme is all over the place. Much like a boiling pot. The menu has a good selection with a surprising addition of the Vietnamese "banh mi" which is vegan. The spicy chicken sandwich was great and the fries were crispy. The staff was attentive and friendly. Pretty good experience overall 7.5/10
Adam G
Two of us ordered 3 dishes because EVERYTHING on the menu looked fantastic. The best thing we ate was the soft scramble and sweet potato hash. The bread pudding French toast sticks were really good too.
Daniel Crawford
Hidden gem of Monroe center! Eclectic beer pairings, and GENIUS offerings from the chef. These lentil curry fries with a touch of mustard on top was incredible. Service is friendly. Didn’t have to wait on a Sunday afternoon to be seated. Highly recommend

Glad to have found Little Bird for our first brunch in Grand Rapids. We didn't have a reservation, and had to wait a few minutes to be seated in the bar on a Saturday morning. However, it was worth it! Service was phenomenal and the food was just what we were looking for. We had the breakfast sandwich and the french omelette. Both dishes were full of flavor. Would recommend!

This is a beautiful restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you can just tell the experience here is going to be great. The lunch menu is kind of small, but it is small on purpose...they excel at the dishes they provide. Our food was phenomenal, and the service was absolutely top notch. There is something on the menu for everyone too - vegan, vegetarian, meat dishes, and more. Highly recommend Little Bird for lunch!
Nick Garlinghouse
Little Bird was a highlight of my weekend in Grand Rapids. It's a cute little place right downtown by the art museum. The food and service were both great. I had the steak and eggs and my friend had the salmon and grits. I'd definitely love to stop in again next time I'm in town.

We had a lovely dinner this evening outdoors on the terrace. Locally sourced, fresh and delicious. Excellent attentive service by Jorge. The pork chop was smoky deliciousness with kale peaches and herbs. The scallop “nacho” appetizer was fresh and delicious and full of locally sourced herbs. Five stars

Finally made it to Little Bird! Have been wanting to try this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. Great little spot in downtown GR with fantastic food! Fresh ingredients. Creative dishes. Would absolutely recommend.
Najee Kitchens
Best brunch food I’ve ever had! I tried the French toast and the breakfast sandwich and they tasted amazing! If you can, I recommend getting a few items to share among each other to try more of their delicious food items!
Christopher Guarin
Had a great brunch meal while visiting from out of town. Everything was delicious...from the smoke Salmon sandwich to the French toast and side of pork belly. Would definitely recommend this cozy brunch spot while in Grand Rapids
Same Ol G
Small little restaurant, with big bold flavors!! This is a hidden gem, food was very fulfilling and flavorful. The apple compote taste like someone's grandmother made it. Great job!!
Ashtons Cashin
Found this place after looking online for Gluten Free options in Downtown Grand Rapids...Turns out it's one of the best in Grand Rapids! Food was excellent through and through, highly recommend the Bavette Steak, and the dark chocolate pistachio truffle was the perfect dessert to top it all off..Pair the great food with an airy, yet classy atmosphere, and good, attentive service, and you have a winner. Lauren was an excellent server! Will definitely be visiting again soon
Mary Reyna-Guy
Little Bird is quickly becoming our favorite place in GR. The food is delicious with friendly dietary options for all. One word, BRUNCH! The service is phenomenal every time. We can’t wait for our next date-night/brunch to return.
Patrick Conlan
Can recommend the smashburger - very tasty and the fries were perfect, crispy, crunchy, soft and fluffy in the middle. My Korean peach salad had a lot of great flavors and textures.
Also, my non-alcoholic Hellraiser Dark Amber was excellent.
Ling Z
A cute little restaurant for Sunday brunch.
Food was great, the greens and beans and mushroom combo works very well the lovely red pepper pistou, garlicky and balanced.
Talked to one of the staffs and he seems really enjoying working here and proud of the farm to table concept
Family friendly, kids friendly
Caleb Rights
Super great place to stop in and grab a well prepared bite to eat. The food was made with special care. The French Fries are super good very unique compared to other places.
Highly recommended!

Stunning vermouth cocktail and olive burger. I love that I could select a side salad instead of fries (low carb). I will say, I tried a curry French fry WOWSA! This little gem is packing some amazing flavors! Love it!
Kaleb Smart
Went to their soft dinner opening, and the food is out of this world. Incredibly complex flavors that perfectly blend together. The service was intimate and very friendly. My only regret is not licking the bowl
G Tag
Potatoes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The udon was so good and the pork belly melts in your mouth. 10/10 would recommend.
cari mcclellan-Geyman
Went here the morning after a concert for breakfast. Friendly servers and food was amazing! Do yourself a favor and if you are in town and want breakfast this is a great place!
Yum my
Our waitress Gabbi was a delight, much like the food! The duck and fried rice was a perfect for brunch, light, slighly spicy kimchi, and delicious. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, the potatos are also fantastic.
Jeremy Schmid
Quaint brunch spot in the heart of downtown. Food was on point and cocktails were dialed in. The menu has a ton of gluten free/vegan options but plenty of add-ons as well. The kimchi udon was the best meal I had all week! Was a little bummed that they weren't doing the housemade fountain drinks anymore but the meal and cocktails made up for it!
Linda Monroe
The food was very good, my waiter was patient helping me pick out a cocktail. The serving size was good.
Jason Busalacchi
First time here and presentation was on point, service was great! Food was even better, the only complaint was the fact they need a bigger restaurant to serve all the customers who want in this amazing restaurant. Must try for those seeking great food.
Jenn Phillips
So delicious! Great, friendly service and the best breakfast sandwich I've had in ages! Such a cute place.
Graham Wellington
Had Sunday brunch and enjoyed it. We've been for lunch and dinner as well. I am a vegan biscuits and gravy. Everything I've had there has been great! Seating has always been super fast, even when requesting outdoor seating. I'll definitely be going back, one of my favorite places downtown.
Jeffery Shively
Delicious food, great friendly staff. We had the mushroom leek French omlette and potatoes and lentil hash dish (I don't remember what it's called) the flavors were wonderful! Highly recommend!
Nathan Ver Beek
There's a certain eccentric charm about Little Bird that makes it a delight to visit. From the ambiance to the very friendly staff it's difficult to find something to complain about. Oh, and the food is delicious. Only one small word of warning: the coffee refills carry a charge so be careful about your warm ups.
Andrea Hoang
Food was okay, dish was definitely overpriced.
I ordered the steak and egg, was hoping i would get more for $30 dish.
My waiter was very kind and professional. I enjoyed the outdoor dining, but yeah, definitely overpriced for the portion.
Lynn Gibson
Our server Eva was excellent. Knowledge of the menu and opened with suggestions. Our first time here. Food was fresh and very flavorful. The best French Fries I've ever eaten. They have a special process that makes them have a slightly crispy edge with a soft potato center. Slightly salty and delicious without ketchup. We will go back.
Mimi Emig
Innovative, flavorful, beautifully presented food. Chef makes use of truly fresh seasonal local ingredients (example- salad with local grilled peached). Some of the best most interesting food we've had in the area in a long time! We made a reservation for an outside table- pleasantly surprised that table was set for us with "reserved" sign on it at our time (unusual for GR). Chose from a nice selection of interesting beers; they also have cocktails that I'll try next time. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
Mike Trent
Every time I've been here, the food and service have been outstanding. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it doesn't matter, they have delicious and surprisingly creative dishes on their menu. It's impressive how they can keep their menu fresh and interesting while maintaining such high standards. I'll keep coming back because I know they'll have new and interesting dishes that I'm sure to enjoy.
Dominika Romanik
This is a wonderful, small, and cozy place to have breakfast at. My waitress, Veronica, was helpful and friendly. She always knew whenever I needed to refill my coffee, and she was attentive. The coffee was okay. I also tried the Earl Gray tea they had and, it was fine as well. On the other hand, the food was really good! I ordered the Bread Pudding French Toast Sticks, and I waited about 20 minutes for it. Once it arrived, I had finally realized that this is a dish with is definitely worth waiting for. 😁 The French Toast Sticks were super soft and fluffy. The whipped cream was a bit salty (which was surprising) BUT, the salty flavor added more variety to the dish. Plus, the french sticks did taste really good with the whipped cream. They also added some blueberries and strawberries (my favorite) on top, and they drizzled the plate with liquid chocolate. Over all, the Bread Pudding French Toast Sticks are a pretty sweet breakfast to start your day with (also, they kind of reminded me of waffles.) However, the only problem I had with this dish, was that it was a little bit too big for my stomach. So, if you are a person who cannot eat too much in the morning, or prefers to eat less. I recommend splitting the dish with another person or ordering only 1/2 of the dish. To conclude, Little Bird is a wonderful restaurant. It's very casual, and it's the best place for breakfast. There are many dishes which are worth checking out, however, you should order one dish per two people since they are quite big and, it might require help from another person.
Sarah Kinney
Such a wonderful place. Always a favorite stop when in downtown GR. Food is always beyond amazing, as is the service. Definitely give it a go, if you haven't already!
Celeste
Charming and cozy. It was very busy in the 10am hour but we didn't have to wait too long. Small inside and also a few tables outside. Service was friendly. The menu isn't huge but it has a good variety for all types. I had the French omelette with creamed mushrooms and leeks and it was fabulous. The only negative was my salad was very *salty.* Salty?!? Yes. Entrance is too narrow to be accessible and you have to go through a non-accessible door to get to a gender-neutral restroom.
Michael Tuffelmire
Totally lived this place. I had the soft scramble, my girlfriend had the French omelet. I will definitely return.
Lubica Cechvala-Tkac
Wonderful experience altogether. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the entire staff was incredibly personable. I tried the sweet potato hash which was delicious. Coffee was also great. Our server Jorge was terrific!! Highly recommend and will be back when in the area!!!
James Griffith Dewling
Great experience. The food was incredible and matched by friendly staff. Doesn't get much better than this. This is my Grand Rapids favorite.
Wammack, Steven
Bavette steak was superb, as was the chicken. Flavor combinations were layered and sophisticated. Portions were ample but not ridiculous--allowing just enough room for their incredible ice cream (made in-house). Staff was attentive/delightful. Easily the best dining experience I've had in six months.
Susan Oostveen
First time experience! No complaints at all. I ordered a simple scrambled egg with potatoes and a sausage add on. My Son ordered the cheeseburger/fries with a medium cooked egg on the burger. We shared a bit of each other’s to get more of a taste of the menu. Eggs are eggs. Not at Little Bird. Best I ever had. Flavors exploded in my mouth. Sausage had many added spices. My Son’s cheeseburger was really one of the very best I’ve had. He say’s the same and his travels have taken him all over the world. Does it sound like I like this quaint little place? Absolutely! Raved it up to my older son. He and his wife are on their way.
Infrequent Local Guide
Wow, what a great find. The GM, Christian, was our bartender/waiter tonight and we couldn't have been more fortunate. His/Their attention to detail and preparation was second to none. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was exceptional.
If you want good food, in a cool place with great service; Little Bird is the answer.
Em Horvath
We were staying in Muskegon, and drove into GR to visit the art museum. We were completely new to the city and needed to find a spot for lunch, did some googling, and discovered Little Bird. My dad is used to his local Chicago restaurants and is a little picky about where he goes to eat! He LOVED Little Bird, as did all of us! Great food, great vegetarian and vegan options, and great mixed drinks! I got a tofu bahn mi and it was amazing, and incredible fries. Staff and servers were super friendly and personable, great service all around. Planning to be back around GR yearly, so Little Bird is definitely on our list of return spots!
Sean Deyerle
Great service. The French fries and sandwiches were really delicious and crispy. Also, the sesame Cesar salad was good enough for us to try to recreate at home
James Taylor
My steak and eggs was so flavorful with sunny side up eggs and grits. I’m not a fan of kale but even that was tasty. The bread pudding French toast sticks were to die for, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside garnished with lots of butter…yum! Jackson , our server, was so kind and attentive. We felt personally cared for. The place was full of happy, noisy customers so it was hard to hear, but we’ll be back!
David Biedrzycki
Tiny spot with a fun, upscaled diner atmosphere. The sweet potato hash was an excellent, healthier vegetarian dish. A little bit of heat and well balanced with veggies and potatoes with the curried lentils
Amy Triggs
Tiny place with a weird portable wall in the back, but the drinks and food are great. Danielle rocks behind the bar.
Drew Clayton
Fantastic little spot with the best breakfast. I was in town from LA, and loved it so much, I came back again a second day.
The farmers soft scramble has perfectly cooked eggs, and the maple tamari glaze is a thoughtful way to heighten the veggies. Eggs in purgatory was savory, super filling and healthful. Between the herbs, spice of the sausage, and cooling cucumbers and cream, the balance was lovely.
I only wish I could have tried their dinner and cocktails. The bar has a small-but-well-curated selection of alcohol, showing they care about quality over commodity.
Audrey Gross
The menu was so small and most options looked like they should be appetizers. None of the pictures on here were offered, even the menu was different. Server was nice, drink was hand mixed. We didn't stay to eat
Jenny Longfellow
What a great little gem on Montoe Center! Quaint and warm environment, staff was super sweet and so friendly, and the crispy potatoes are outta this world! Quality service, quality food Will be back again in the near future!
Natalia Yepes
The food here was exceptional. First time in Grand Rapids I’m glad I came here. I had the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich. The breakfast potatoes were so good! The staff was also nice and everything came out super fast.
Drew Looyenga
Little Bird has a menu suited for your inner Bohemian. Lots of great vegetarian and gluten free items, and geared towards cuisine less common for the Grand Rapids, with dishes featuring curries, lentils, eggplant, latkes, etc. If food alone were the review it would be an easy five stars.
There's a full coffee bar and lots of great AM and PM cocktails. There'd also a rotating selection of great pastries and other baked goods, including some gluten free ones.
Seating is little cramped, even beyond the scope of being called "cozy". Service can be hit and miss, a lot stemming from that if the place is full its hard to navigate, even for servers. Parking is tricky, and the meter on Monroe Center maxes at an hour. Almost every car outside the restaurant had a ticket.
Fully recommended for breakfast, but be prepared to rub elbows and pay attention to the meter.
Jen Wolanski
Excellent food, more seating than expected.
Marc DeVisser
This cozy place gets 5 stars easily! Friendly people, top notch service, great drinks, and their food .... it's off the chart! Certainly a few unique ingredient combinations when looking at the menu, but don't be fooled! Their plates present well and will always delight your palette. And, of all things, one of the only "normal" items on the menu, their cheeseburger .... BEST ANYWHERE. PERIOD.
Randal Vant Hul
Had a GREAT experience: friendly knowledgeable staff; a creative menu with plenty of options for meat lovers and vegetarians; a cozy setting; and everything tasted great! Thanks, Little Bird!
Edwardo Fuentes
This was a treat for my morning. Had the eggs of purgatory and it was wonderful. Never had lamb sausage before but went perfect with feta cheese and cucumber and mint. My wife had the Maca chai and quickly finished it so I assumed it was very tasty also the farmers scramble was really good with the kale and tamari maple glaze. I look forward to my next visit I want to try the cauliflower Caesar salad with sardines. Great job and thank you
Thomas Spica
Excellent service and incredible food. I had the salmon grits and it was legitimately one of the best breakfasts I’ve eaten in GR. The portion was right, the miso butternut squash was inspired, and the salmon was cooked perfect. I really have zero complaints about my first visit to Little Bird. Needless to say, I’ll be coming back!
10/17/22 Edit: Having been back for breakfast several times since this review, and just having had dinner at Little Bird for the first time this weekend, I can confidently say it's at the top of my list of best restaurants in GR. Their creative use of flavor combinations both in food and drink, the freshness of ingredients, and care taken in preparing each dish makes this one of my favorite dining experiences in town.
02/02/23 Update: I’ve been here many times for dinner now and can confirm it’s not to be missed. Chef comes up with excellent and playful flavor combinations that should not be slept on!
Steph Mitchell
Food: stellar
Service: great
Came to Grand Rapids for a wedding and stumbled on this spot. Food was amazing, staff was great. I honestly thought this was a local tried and true, been around for a long time type of place - but turns out it's actually somewhat new.
The omelet (French style) was perfectly cooked and scrumptious. I wish this was my breakfast every day! The avocado dish is NOT an app - huge portion and SO SO good. Would also love to have this often.
Came back day 2 for pastries and the scones were so soft. The short bread is also soft and flaky.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here.
Beth weston
Super friendly servers, awesome food and cute atmosphere. Love the Fries (omg best ever), tea, and vegan options.
Tony McCune
Little Bird has a lot of non-traditional breakfast and lunch food on their menu, a great find, no doubt, for trendy people who are looking for super healthy food options.
Fortunately, for me, they have a small ala carte section of traditional breakfast food which they prepare very well.
Our breakfast was delicious and the table where we sat provided an excellent view.
Kristina Kyle
I had a delicious burger and the bartender was friendly (as was the rest of the staff) and awesome and accommodated my weird, very specific Manhattan request. A nice ending to my very long, stressful day.
Tomer Algai
Great and unique food selection on the menu. The service is fantastic and they make their own pastries. The coffee is good and the place feels cosy, though a bit drafty when people walk in and out the front door. They have a full bar if that's your thing, so this is a great place for brunch.
Madeline Schaab
Little Bird is a great addition to downtown's restaurant scene! They recently started serving dinner. Have been for both brunch and dinner now. For brunch I had a breakfast sandwich had the burger, their version of a caesar, and my friend and I split the Zucchini. Which was really tasty too! They don't have any happy hour specials (yet) as serving dinner is still relatively new for the restaurant, but was told they will in the future. Highly recommend!
Ashleigh Joppie
One of my favorite little spots in GR!
Working downtown, it's always a treat to walk over here & have a great lunch. Inside or outside, there's not a bad seat in the house.
Everything on the menu is delicious.
Mandolin Cole
Oh wow! So I loved it. It's so cute inside, but very small. The staff was very kind and attentive. The vegetarian options, the drinks, pretty much everything was great! Bathroom set up is a little confusing, so be prepared for that. This was hands down some of the best food I've had since moving to the area. I had the biscuits with mushroom gravy, and I was in heaven!
Leanne M
This cafe and restaurant is very cute and has an elegant atmosphere. Great employees here who are friendly and awesome. The food is super and they have options for all diets. It is not too small but there may be a brief wait. It is definitely worth it
M Timmy
This spot is fantastic! We stopped in on the way home from a road trip and we are glad we did. No indoor seating due to Covid, but there was plenty of outdoor patio seating. They put a table in front of the door for safety precautions and you order from the hostess behind the podium. Coffee was delicious. Kimchee hash was divinely tasty because of all the fresh vegetables: sauteed kale, cauliflower, mushrooms and radishes. It was the meal I was looking for throughout my whole vacation!
Ivetta Abramyan
This place is amazing! Busy for a reason. The avocado toast was probably the best I’ve ever had and I added smoked salmon as per the recommendation of other reviewers. Great portion size and cool cafe atmosphere.
Amy Grogan
Great food and service. I went for lunch and had sweet potato hash. It was a tasty dish with a lot of flavor. The menu had a lot of intriguing options and if I had been in town longer I definitely would have went back to try more. I was dining alone but be aware it is a popular but rather small place so plan accordingly.
Clare DeVeau
We went for a quick dinner and loved every second. The service was great and we loved everything we ate! We got one of their tequila based cocktails that were delicious. We got the whipped ricotta and feta which was balanced and unique. We both ordered the burger and I can easily say Little Bird has the best burgers in town. It is simple but well seasoned and delicious. The Fries were crispy but not over cooked. Will definitely be back to try out more of the menu.
Brooke Demers
Brunch was absolutely delicious! Every dish we had was tasty with good portion sizes. Gabby took wonderful care of us and was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu's choices. Drinks were yummy, ambiance was comfortable. Well with the wait (we walked around downtown for an hour while we waited for a table). We will definitely be back!!
Shawn Raymond
Took wife there for her birthday, they put flower on table, gave her a nice foo foo drink, saved her a piece of Kaila chocolate cake. They made her feel special. Food outstanding
Jessica Espenlaub
Lovely brunch menu. Great atmosphere. Food was fast, hot & yummy. Staff was friendly. Would recommend.
Marshall Warners
Our breakfast was amazing! Can’t wait to come back and try lunch. Food, service, and atmosphere were all incredible. This place is exactly what downtown Grand Rapids needed!
Adam Weiss
We had a party of 4 and went for dinner on a Friday night before we went to a concert. We had reservations and we were met at the door by a gentleman who seated us. He was very friendly and gave us some background of the restaurant and their menu. Our server was Jorge (sp?) and he was awesome and he really made us feel welcome. We had the duck wings, Squid Ink Pasta, Salmon and the Pork Chop and they were all fantastic and unique. We finished off our meal with a pop over and a strawberry dessert which were awesome. We spent 2.5 hours eating, drinking and enjoying the atmosphere. Our meal could have been quick but we took our time ordering and enjoying the night. Will definitely go back.
Rob Schwartz
My favorite restaurant in GR. While the menu could be characterized as creative new American, the chef is influenced by Asian flavors and he’s not afraid of a little heat. The servers are friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable and the manager knows his wine! Great sidewalk seating. We mostly go for dinner, but they also do breakfast and they have a great brunch. Almost forgot to mention the cheeseburger and fries, which have been a staple for years
Brian Stilson
The food is amazing. I had the sweet potato hash and it was a flavor explosion. I'm not even a vegetarian but I totally would be if I could eat like that every day. Staff was friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend and am looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.
Josh O'Berski
Great food, great drinks, and friendly staff. If you’re planning on brunch, come in early because they fill up quick. Their dinner menu is impressive and worth your time.
Kristy Keegstra
One of my favorite breakfast places! Very small place, worth the wait, sat at the bar and had an amazing service the whole time.
Carley Morrison
Love Littlebird! So many great menu items. Always recommend for fun cocktails and delicious food.
Gabi Palmer
Ordered the biscuits with mushroom gravy and sausage. Great decision! Probably the best biscuits and gravy that I've ever tasted! And the coffee was excellent also.
Joel Vanderveen
New takes on brunch favorites and a quaint location make this the prime spot for weekend boozy brunches. The bar breakfast mix is fun, with good Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. Don't come for classic 2 egg and hash plates, as the menu is filled with new flavors.
Becky Arce
Delicious small plates to share and wonderful craft cocktails. The bar staff was fun, friendly and informative.
Beth Kaashoek
Really cute but very small inside so maybe not great for big groups.
Food was really tasty and they were on top of the allergies of the table.
Laura Antonius
Came for brunch and there was a short (5 minute) wait at about 11:30 on a Saturday. The service was great and efficient. The food was outstanding. Fried chicken sandwich isn’t something I ever really think much about but this fried chicken sandwich was perfection: the bun was soft and fluffy, the chicken was crunchy and moist, the sauce (the sauce!!) was tangy, the American cheese a perfect touch wow. Also, the smoked salmon and mimosas and potatoes and sourdough toast and everything else. Can’t wait to come back.
Rhiannon
Went there for Mother’s Day brunch. The mimosas were good. I felt like the brunch menu was a bit limited to some pretty high priced items but didn’t fully deliver on flavor, unfortunately. I don’t mind dropping $$ on good food but I also feel that the food has to taste like it’s worth the cost. The customer service was very good even with place being really busy.
Mike Taylor
Always fun place for lunch in GR. We had soup and spicy chicken sandwich on toasted bun. Both we're delicious. I had a bit of the sandwich left and no way was I going to leave it so I happily lugged in home. Very attentive staff.
Jake Butler
My girlfriend and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner. It was a flavor explosion. We went the salads then small plates route (too many desirable items on the menu to limit our choices to just a few). Each dish was a gem- crazy, unique, fresh flavors, attention to textures and plate presentations. Our server thoughtfully and professionally paced out and crafted the experience perfectly. Not one item failed to
impress us. It was a phenomenal dining journey. If you haven’t had the pleasure of Little Bird, seek them out and thank me later. Quaint, charming, delicious, elevated, thoughtful, personable, fun and intimate are just a few words that come to mind.
John Smiddy
There will probably be a wait. It will be worth it. The food is fresh and quality. I had the sweet potato hash. The portion amount was perfect. I also really enjoyed their coffee. Our kids ate all of their food which is not not typical. Highly recommend
Thomas Rzepecki
The curry tofu breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in awhile. I'd highly recommend it if you like tofu
Michael Carlstrom
Make time for brunch, awesome delicious food, friendly staff. Made for a great start to our day.
Victoria Powers
Love the atmosphere and service is great! More upscale menu which reflects in the price. Great for conversation and the coffee is always hot.
Eric Brefka
A great little spot for any meal of the day (especially breakfast/brunch). Breakfast sandwiches are their specialty and the coffee is top-notch.
Jacob Merda
Food comes out extremely fast and is very delicious. The staff and atmosphere are very welcoming.
Samantha Munson
All three breakfast meals were great. Even bought some of the homemade blueberry jam to take home. Definitely recommend.
Ron Moen
Perhaps a little high end... However, their signature cocktails were delicious. Food was very good, and service impeccable. Of course I expect good service at these places...I wasn't disappointed!!!
Gab Andrade
Amazing breakfast for the last day in this beautiful downtown!!!! the service is really good.
Laura Alvarez
Great menu, service and dessert. We loved it so much we came back every day during our visit to Grand Rapids
Kiki Eberhardt
Favorite restaurant in GR and the spot I recommend to anyone. Food is on point. They are working hard, creative and talented. For someone who has traveled across the globe tasting and experiencing all sorts of dishes and having lived in in NYC 10+ yrs, Europe 7 yrs, worked in the restaurant biz throughout my life including Jean George and Diner, I would die w o this place being in GR. My only constructive criticism is the food is a little over salted at times, which is the norm in GR unfortunately.
Liz Guerrero
Smaller place but had outdoor seating and good service. Food was awesome even the kids devoured it! Avocado smash sandwich and the Little Bird Sandwich were favorites!
Mitchell Irwin
Little bird like many restaurants was affected by covid but they are back and serving great food outside, not to mention wonderful customer service/satisfaction. If you want a cute and delicious breakfast experience be sure to stop by!
Debra NAPIERALSKI
The blueberry margarita was the best, the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich good but not exceptional, based on all of the 5 stars I was expecting more, there are so many places in GR that are amazing, but I was not amazed. I would consider a return trip.
Joe H
The wait to get inside was a bit long, but service was good.
Food was pretty good but not outstanding. I would definitely return, but probably wouldn't be willing to wait as long in the future.
Nick Patteri
Such an amazing place! The food was outstanding. By far the best burger I’ve ever had. The dessert was delicious as well. My girlfriend loved her meal too. We were just visiting Grand Rapids and this place was outstanding. I would recommend to anyone in Grand Rapids. I will be back!
Heather Williams
Delicious food. Great service.
e filson
Superb! Omelets executed with a delicate touch... Even the home fries were executed with finesse: just the right amount of crispiness, not too salty. Good coffee, great service. Our favorite place in Grand Rapids!
Brent Meyers
Excellent food and service. A menu that offers unique well-prepared choices that makes it hard to choose what to order. Everything was delicious with fresh herbs and from the farm freshness. All this and a broad range of wines that the staffs knowledge can help you select the perfect match. This is a Grand Rapids jewel that you must try.
Jenny Kihn
My husband had the French omlett and I had the salmon and grits! They were delicious! We were seated quickly! It was not too loud. Very enjoyable!!
Adam Clark
My wife and I stopped here to get Sunday brunch. Extremely friendly staff. I ordered the steak and eggs and my wife got the sweet potato hash. I’m only 20 years old, so I’m haven’t had a lot of food experiences, but I was blown away by both dishes. I wanted a nice brunch, and just the French fries alone were the best I’ve ever had by far.
Rosalia M
Service was great. Good was great. We loved our coffee drinks as well as the quality of the food
Shelia Drewry
Seated outside in shade for breakfast. Service was really good and food was amazing. Party of four and we all loved our breakfast. Will be back! Highly recommend!
Kevin Yazdi
Great service, comfortable environment, perfectly crispy yet soft potatoes with the right amount of seasoning/salt, and one of the best ham and cheese sandwiches I've ever had. The ham was full of flavor and complemented the egg, while the garlic mayo tied it all together in the soft, but crispy, brioche bread.
Mary Ladd
My husband had the breakfast sandwich with a side of pillowy, crispy potatoes and the meal was delicious! The overnight oats are also yummy and very filling. The portions were generous and the staff very kind and welcoming. It’s one of those places where I can tell they actually checked to make sure the blueberries and strawberries on the oats weren’t mushy or tasteless. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is just right and enjoyable.
Samuel Rubin
Incredible food and even better plating. A luxurious dining experience for the cost of a normal cafe. Highly recommend.
Maria Eguiluz
The curry fries were 5/5. The service was a bit slow but overall not too bad.
Tammy Cooper
Food was ok, service was ok but not the friendliest. The mimosa were pretty bland.
Whitt Kilburn
With the latkes and smoked salmon, it must be the best breakfast spot in GR there is not a more creative menu. Try the french toast made with Japanese milk bread.
Charles Young
I don’t think I’ve ever wished I could give a place 6/5. Food was creative and exceeded every expectation. Service was informal but engaging and prompt. Decor was unassuming but very classy. One of the best dining experiences of my life.
Nate
Excellent and eclectic food. We enjoyed our breakfast. Quality and freshness seemed very high.
Patti Johnson
An unbelievable meal.An exquisite pairing of wine. A finish beyond compare. Truly an experience not to be missed. The team is well educated and eager to ensure each guests experience is one to last a lifetime. A must if you are in Downtown Grand Rapids.
C
Food was delicious. I loved the avacado bacon omelette. Our waitress Stacy was awesome. She took great care of us.
laura kenworthy
We had an excellent dinner here, very nice hidden gem! Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations after asking a few questions. The atmosphere was perfect for dinner before the Civic.
Mark P
I had the french omelete with boursin cheese, my fiance had the sweet potato breakfast hash. The french omelete was cooked perfectly, slightly runny and fluffy. The breakfadt potatoes were crisp and the salad was fresh. Her breakfast hash was earthy and the veggies werent overcooked. One of our favorite spots in GR. Early bird in the lake drive area is also amazing.
Marissa Zinn
I just visited the Little Bird for the first time this morning. Amazing first impression. Great atmosphere, very attentive and kind staff, and delicious food. To start, I had their fresh squeezed grapefruit juice which was best I’ve ever had, along with the any style eggs + toast + potatoes. Hands down some of the best toast I’ve had. The bread was warm & so FRESH, like it just came out of the oven. Best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. I got something basic off the menu but they have such a unique , tasteful menu and everyone’s food looked amazing. Would totally recommend!
N N
Great food and great people! I had the Salmon grits. Loved it!
BJ HK
Delightful find for breakfast, brunch, lunch; with old world charm. Food menu offers interesting variety and “punched up” flavor across the board. While we didn’t imbibe in the adult beverages; there is a wide variety to pique anyone’s interest. The coffee was fresh, hot and rich in flavor—our cups were refreshed seamlessly. Thank you Hailey! As for the smoked salmon sandwich, avocado and egg sandwich and accompanying side salads; could not have been better. Happened to spot a nearby diner’s French-style omelet; soft-creamy and screaming for a coupe de champagne! On my list. Will definitely be returning-thanks for a great meal, service and ambiance.
Cat Trainor
Delicious meal . Had vegan friendly avacado sandwich. Option egg , or tofu slice for vegans. along with pickled onions and avacado.Tofu was toasted and very flavorful. It was storming out and we didn't have a jacket or umbrella to get back on foot to our hotel room. The waiter was very caring and said he will get to large garbage bags for us. It worked perfectly fine without getting soaking wet on our way back to our room. Last day of our visit, didn't have another change of clothes. Thank you little bird employee.
Lynne German
Picked up breakfast for takeout on a Sunday morning. Great service, excellent and creative menu! I have all kinds of food allergies and usually can't go out for breakfast. The slow cooked oats with chia, almond milk, peanut butter and fruit was delicious! (I was surprised that it was served cold, but it was very good that way) The rest of my party had the avocado toast with smoked salmon added. Excellent!
Andy Poland
Charming atmosphere, great menu and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back!
Susan E
No fancy decaf coffee, which is sad. The food and service were good though.
James Bastian
Very good food at this boutique restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids.
Gannie Warrington
Our friends had been here before & loved it so much they wanted to share it with us. This was our first breakfast of the new year & we loved it. its a short walk from the JW Marriott. The staff are friendly & took good care of us. The coffee has a great strong taste, great way to start the day. We had a variety of meals, all of them were unique & delicious.
Katherine and Benjamin
We came for a late brunch and we were excited about how everything on the menu was something we had never eaten before. The cocktail menu was also very unique. We mentioned it was our honeymoon and they brought out an incredible chocolate torte which was like eating a chocolate cloud-so rich and light at the same time. I got eggs in purgatory and would drive 2 hours to come back just to have that again:) we don’t live in GR. Friendly service and very relaxing warm atmosphere. Loved this place a lot!
Aaron Wilson
Unique and different food, some of it good and some of it not so good. Received my meal and it was rather cold. The staff remade it which was nice, and it was warmer just not piping hot. Their English muffins were excellent, I highly recommend some to go.
The prices are rather on the high side. For the cost of coffee it should have been of higher quality and served in much nicer cups. In general the pricing was on par to what you would see in Manhattan, but the quality just didn't reflect the pricing. "A" for effort, "B" on execution.
lia cadorniga
some of the best food i’ve ever had‼️
Lisa Olmetti-O'Loughlin
Our brunch was really good! The wait was only about 20 minutes. I enjoyed the biscuits with gravy, so tasty! The biscuits were so good, and the gravy was perfect; mushrooms, scallions, egg, oh so good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely will be back! Maybe for dinner next time.
Martin Kwok
Great atmosphere and good food. Coffee is smooth with free refills.
John
My friend dragged me here bragging that they have the best burger in GR, and while I'm not sure I agree I definitely wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is a little small, with not many seating options, but I think it's partially what makes it so great. It feels really cozy and adds to the dining experience. Also during the summer months they do offer outside seating. The server we had was great. They offer a burger special Tuesday through Friday (they aren't open Monday evening) from I believe 2-6. It is a shockingly good deal. I think the thing I like the most about the burger is its simple. Way too many places in GR try to do something crazy with their burgers making them difficult to eat. These burgers come out perfect everytime and aren't overloaded with unnecessary garbage. I'd highly recommend both the burger and little Bird to anyone I know, and it is my current go to spot when I have friends in town visiting!
Matt Kerr
Busy little brunch place, but great food and drinks.
Sat at the bar, the bartender was super friendly and helpful. I had a bloody Mary and my gf had a coffee drink customized be the bartender. Excellent service.
The food was delicious too. We split a couple of breakfast sandwiches and we're extremely happy with both.
Betsy King-McDonald
Impossible to know what to order. Everything was spectacular. Imaginative, comforting, hearty food delivered thoughtfully by friendly staff.
Sam Rutherford
Nice little breakfast and lunch place, has a number of good Asian inspired dishes.
Jeremy Meyering
The most sublime biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Savory, light and creamy. Delicate biscuits that didn't get soggy. I added sausage, but I think the mushrooms alone would be amazing. It was my first time at Little Bird. Loved the warm upscale bar/diner feel. Great service. I'm going back.
Gabriel Whalen
Serendipity brought me to the door of Little Bird and so glad it did! Simply the nicest people working there. On my second visit I saw a new employee being trained, they were preparing a carry out order and the trainer told the new employee "we wait until the customer arrives to steam the milk for the latte because sitting steamed milk is sad." Thoroughly impressed by with that kind of care and attention to detail. Also simply amazing food. I went with the mushroom gravy & biscuits, just amazing. Visit, you will be happy.
Jessica Ross
This is quickly becoming my favorite spot. Everything I have tried on the menu is amazing and the sausage biscuits and gravy are by FAR the BEST I’ve ever had (and I grew up in the South)
Jennifer Urban
My husband and I have been here 3 times, once before pandemic and twice after. Lunch, dinner, breakfast. Every single time it’s been outstanding! So much so we’ve decided we have to make the 30 minute drive from the lakeshore at least once a month. Quality, homemade, deliciousness!
Becky Thomason
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. My boyfriend and I went at 11am on a Sunday and it was quite busy! It took about 10 minutes to even get our name in the book. We were sat around 11:40 and ate by 12:15. The aesthetic was very pleasing. They have seating outside if you like dining in the sunshine. The bar is very beautiful with wood beam shelves for the alcohol.
My boyfriend and I always order two things we both want to try and then split! We got the Crab fried rice that was on special and the biscuits and mushroom gravy with sage sausage.
The crab fried rice was delicious. There was lumps of crab meat, so they didn’t skimp at all. It was on the mild and sweet side. Although I loved it, it was a flavor I got over quickly.
The biscuits and mushroom gravy with sage sausage was our favorite. The biscuits were large and crunchy on the outside while staying moist on the inside. This is a GREAT biscuit for gravy because it didn’t get soggy. There are big pieces of mushroom that were delicious as well as leek which added a mild onion flavor that really rounded out the dish. Ordering the sage sausage is a MUST. It was very juicy and flavorful.
We both got coffee and it was very enjoyable and included free refills. All in all, the experience was lovely, despite the wait. Our server was very friendly and helped me choose the biscuits and gravy. I’m dying to return and try their burger because it looks pretty wonderful. The kimchi hash doesn’t sound half bad either! If you are looking for a charming brunch place that will put you in a beautiful mood, look no further!
Sammy Samuels
We ordered lentil soup, hamburgers, chicken soup, and some kind of dip and toast (I wasn’t paying attention!). Short wait, friendly wait staff...the food arrived and looked good enough. Nothing special. But then we ate!!! The lentil soup was out of this world, the chicken soup made with bone broth (we think), the hamburger and bed of fries gone before we could ask for a taste. (Best chicken soup, with chunks of chicken, I’ve had in a long time. Better than my own!) The service is excellent, the ambiance comfortable, but the food is the star!
Austin Radebaugh
Amazing brunch! Great cocktails, fresh baked goods, and amazing food! Service is always on point. The biscuits and mushroom gravy are the best I've ever had. Excited to see what this kitchen will bring to the table in the future.
Kyle Dewey
Another one of my favorite brunch places. It’s relatively small and fills quickly so expect a short wait if you go during peak time which is usually around 1030-11am from my experience. The bar looks like it’s out of an English pub. They have a pretty eclectic menu but they also have your standard breakfast fare. Portions are large and pricing is fare. They also have a full bar so if you’re looking for a boozy brunch, they’ve got you covered.
Cheryl Peterson
The first thing that hit you is the smiling friendly staff. Next, they know about their food and their coffee. Unlike a lot of places these days who don’t have knowledge about their product, these guys fo and they it care about it. Next, the quality of the food is very good and fresh. But the best part is their unique choices they put on their plates. I had salmon and a unique kind of German potato with an apple butte and fresh eggs that were spot on. Great job!
Austin Graff
Littlebird was BY FAR the best meal we had in Grand Rapids. Here's why:
1) Food: The menu sets the tone. Literally every plate we ordered was out of this world starting with the Kim Cheese- pimento cheese. The twice-cooked sweet potatoes combined ingredients like peanuts and miso into a masterpiece. The rotating hand made pasta was excellent as was the market salad made from local ingredients. The drinks were also solid.
2) Space: It's a small spot in downtown Grand Rapids with a small bar and a few tables. My group of five went on a Thursday evening and we only had to wait 20 minutes.
3) Service: The owner greeted us and made our experience. She is as friendly as she is passionate about quality food.
If you're visiting Grand Rapids, you must add this to the top of the list!
Rachel Sherman
Probably the best meal we’ve had during our trip to Michigan. Service was great for brunch and the food was all creative, fresh, and well priced. We both devoured our meals before even taking a picture. I would definitely recommend!
Sandra Revnell
The food was excellent. The waitstaff was not horribly attentive (each party member had to ask for water and coffee refills).
Conrad Lawson
Excellent food & cocktails! I highly recommend the monkfish risotto! And, the menu calls out what's gluten free, vegetarian and vegan as well.
Charlotte DuJardin
My boyfriend and I traveled here from Milwaukee, stopped at the Little Bird on our way back home looking for a nice brunch experience in the downtown area. We left more than satisfied! From the service, the drinks, the food - everything was top notch. Our server was extremely helpful and answered any question we had! I got the corn beef special and my boyfriend got the short rib beef and barley. Both f*****g DELICIOUS !!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend!!!! 😍
Tim Galligar
For the amazing quality of the food, the portions are spectacularly large. Everything from the meal, to the drinks, and the service, you will not be disappointed. Make sure to try the fried tofu!
Gerardo Lewis
The food was AMAZING!!! And the service was FANTASTIC!!! Highly, highly recommend you eat here. I ate the Kimchi Hash with Pork Belly and it was so, so delicious. My friends ate the Eggs in Purgatory and the French Toast, and both said the dishes were great. Again, eat here! You will not be disappointed.
Brittany Lutz
The food here is amazing and high quality. I recommend going if you're in the area! My favorite is the fresh olives in herb oil and butter duck curry. Cocktails are always good and they have quite a few drink options.
Paul Maloney
Holy Brunch! This is a great little place in downtown GR. We waited about 10 minutes for a table on a busy Saturday. Service was great but the real headline was the food. Our recommendation if you are cool with some spice is the kimchi hash with pork belly. Highly recommended.
Dave Craig
We like to do little weekend trips here and there and everytime we come to GR we stop by Little Bird. On our first trip our bartender helped us find side bar and we were so thrilled we came back for brunch the next day. I'm so glad we did because the food is so on point, my girlfriend had two different smoked salmon dishes between the two trips and I've gotten the curried tofu bun both times. I'm not a vegan but that sandwich is worth the trip from Lansing alone. The cortado is better than at madcap across the street. The staff is amazing and helpful, always served us with a smile and quick to offer recommendations. Go here.
KT NTJ
Quaint restaurant in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. Breakfast, lunch, brunch items the focus of the menu. Our party tried the omelette (offered French or American style), breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, and French toast. English muffins are homemade! All had uniquely modern spins on traditional items. Definitely worth the stop. Lots of different pastry items offered as well as house-made sodas. Fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices! Bar items offered as well!
Kristin Williams

This place is so cute and one of my go to breakfast spots in GR. Sitting is pretty limited, they have outdoor seating in the spring/summer which is nice. The food is great and actually pretty reasonably priced. Little Bird definitely has a interesting menu. Would be 5 stars but the sitting is kinda of a issue especially on Saturday/Sunday breakfast/brunch time.
Sarah Romberg
Wonderful food, amazing service! Happened upon this place walking towards another restaurant and stopped in to see the menu. So glad we stayed- it was a great experience!
Ty G
Simple recipes, quality ingredients, great food. Cozy spot with chill vibes. Gabi gave us great service and was kind, caring and hilarious.
Emily VandenBerg
Delectable! My family and I have special dietary needs which were met beautifully. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options. I greatly appreciated the staff and chefs care and attention to our dishes. Friendly, inviting, and absolutely tasty. Give it a try!
Danny Ramirez
Finally got a chance to stop in. Got the French toast and the goat cheese omelette plate. Wow! Amazing! Plus we were seated and greeted promptly. Food took less than 9min to get to us. Lightning fast considering it was around noon thirty. Highly recommended. Can't wait to try more dishes.
Jeanine Crane-Thompson
Great food and service for Sunday brunch. French omlette and overnight oatmeal were delicious!
Jay B.
2:52 p.m. on a Tuesday and my beautiful daughter's HAD to have breakfast. :-) Called ahead and they kept the breakfast menu open for us. So glad they did. The little bird was delicious and I loved the take on the French toast. Delicious fresh food. Non-typical ingredients and preparation make this place stand out for me. Trust the chef. Thanks
Vivian truong
Amazing breakfast place. The service was good and the food was just beyond! Their breakfast potato is really good, and the same go for their smoked salmon sandwich.
Christian Seybert
I had a great food experience at Little Bird. I had the corn meal fried tofu sandwich and split fries with my friend. Excellent sandwich, only down side of the experience is the lack of ambiance considering Covid. I would have enjoyed eating inside to see the restaurant. But overall I enjoyed my meal and the service was friendly.
Kali Hartt
One of my favorite brunch spots in GR! Although I'm sure it's just as wonderful for lunch/dinner/cocktails. It's often extremely busy but worth the wait- and to be honest, the wait has never been bad.. plus, it gives you a little time to walk around the block and take in the beauty of the city or sit outside and people watch. Food and service are both fantastic. The owner does everything from seating to serving to bussing tables. It's beautiful to come to a place that offers a unique menu with plenty of specialty options (E.g. gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and to be in such a pleasing atmosphere.
Audrey Greenfield
Cutest hide out on Monroe Center! Our waitress was very friendly and passionate and excited about the menu. She promised "the best cheeseburger" she'd ever had. She was right; it was the first time I've had a cheeseburger melt in my mouth. Simple, not fussy and scrumptious! Can't wait to go back to try breakfast and I look forward to when they'll be open for dinner and drinks!
Janna Maris
Coming here is a whole experience. Whoever is behind the menu and coming up with the dishes - they have done a phenomenal job. I recommend the salmon platter. And a shout out to the person who created the drinks, as well.
The servers and owner create a welcoming and warm environment which is especially great in the winter. I'm not surprised this restuarant was a hit from the moment they opened their doors.
I always take my out-of-town friends here when they visit!
Lina Fire
The food is good and the atmosphere is great! I feel like it's a tiny bit too expensive for what is offered, but that's just a personal opinion.
I visited with a party of 3 at lunchtime on a weekday and was able to get seated right away at the bar, which was great! On the same note, the service was slower because it was so busy, but we got our food and bill taken care of in under an hour.
Sascha M
Cute little place with really good food. I went with my 8 year old who was pretty adventurous with her breakfast choice -- the kimchi udon. I wouldn't recommend taking most kids here, though.
Hana Hamulic
I’ve ordered from Little Bird through Door Dash many times now. The food is consistently good (which is a rarity among most establishments). I usually get their (perfectly!) poached eggs and house-made English muffin, which comes with this incredible thing that’s something between apple sauce & cinnamon jam (I have no idea what it is, but that’s what it tastes like, and I wanna know if they sell it in jars or tubs).
Today I also got a little chuckle along with my order (see photo).
Thanks Little Bird for the laugh today, and for the consistently great food!
joy engelhardt
Wonderful tea. They have good gluten free bread if requested. The fresh squeezed juice was delicious. Their breakfast potatoes were really good.
David T212
Insanely good bread pudding French toast. Best I’ve ever had. Super nice management and staff. Great brunch spot.
Rebekah Toering
The BEST brunch! Seriously amazing. Great food, great portions, great atmosphere, and reasonably priced. Recommend to everyone I know!
Darla Dowker Jackson
Small but mighty, their food is fantastic and a step apart and above most. The pint sized eatery feels larger thanks to their high ceilings, and the food is excellent enough to make you forget the wait (if you have one) or the proximity to other diners. If we lived closer, we would likely be regulars.
Kate M
Beautiful as well as delicious. I could understand why so many of us were willing to spend two hours of a Sunday morning waiting....to be fed and warmed here. Avocado Smash sandwich was yummo
W D
Been here twice and love this place. Staff is so friendly and the food is top notch. We always will go here when we're in town.
Kevin
Bravo! Brilliant little restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids. The breakfast menu was eye popping delicious, I wish I had more time to try every single dish. The portion size was perfect. The attention to detail was very evident. Staff was rock and rolling. The coffee was great. The selection of liquor and liqueurs was diverse and hit every single category. The cocktail menu caught my eye. You’re on my google map and will stop every time I come to Grand Rapids.
Thank you!
Bar Manager from the UP that is now a lifetime fan!
Kelsey Thrush
I love this place! Feels like the perfect European cafe! Food is excellent. I had the avocado toast. It is a bit small, but that adds to the overall charm of the place. Great location in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.
Erika Whitten
It was our first time visiting little bird on Sunday. We chose a busy time to go, around 11:00am. There was a line down the street and with a hangry 2 year old, we weren’t sure we should/could wait. However we decided to wait. We are assuming they were possibly short staffed on this day but we’re not complaining! Everyone that was working was smiling, moving quickly, and seemed to be handling the swell of people waiting to eat in a graceful manner. After waiting close to an hour, a sweet lady in the green skirt seated us, made sure to acknowledge the baby ahead of time and had the booster seat ready! Once seated, it was so quick! Ordered a yummy coffee cocktail! French Lentil soup was amazing! Grilled cheese on point! Husband had Kimchi hash also top notch! Can’t wait to come back!
Allison Dunn
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! i always get their Avocado Toast with Egg, it is literally to die for. i love the cozy, hipstery, downtown-coffee-shop vibe. they have cool, unique house-made drinks that i’ve never tried but will soon! i stop in at least once every couple weeks. awesome place!
Justine Long
Delicious breakfast options, different than your standard fare!
Jill Valerius
Great food and service! Lovely setting outside.
Brianna Vawter
Just popped in for some drinks, great atmosphere!
Jared Friar
Everything is top notch. Delicious cocktail at happy hour, great appetizer, wonderful entree, and amazing carrot cake for dessert. Fair prices and just the right size portions. Service was also excellent and very friendly. Hope this place does great for a long time!
Maria Rodriguez
Good is delicious! I got the sweet potato lentil curry and it was bomb!
Joseph Trupp
I had the joy of stumbling upon The Littlebird on their opening day today. At the suggestion of the owner I tried the hamburger. A risky thing to do to a fan of Stella's and I know people are going to argue this one with me but this burger just about knocked me over. It didn't have crazy items on it, nor was it over sized with things sticking out of it. It was a burger in such a pure form. Two beautifully cooked patties, cheese, pickles and an incredible bun. When this was placed in front of me I was a little taken back. Where was all the massive amount of extras one gets now with a burger. Then I took a bite. The burger was spiced in such a way that I seriously craved it at the back of my tongue three hours later. The cheese and pickles played perfectly not overwhelming any part of the meat. I may actually dream of this burger tonight. Can't wait to travel the 45 miles to enjoy that burger again.
Chuntal Ostema
Delicious both times we have been there!
B.R. Stafford
One of the best meals I've had in my life: Latkes and smoked salmon for the win. Super helpful and accommodating staff/owners. We had a large group and they made sure we were taken care of. Would highly recommend and worth the wait.
Joshua Loomis
Little Bird is THE place to get breakfast along the Monroe Center business district in GR. The food is super unique and the flavor combinations the chefs concoct there are unlike any other I've had. Furthermore, they have awesome happy hour specials complete with a burger that's better than most burger joint burgers. On top of that, the staff is so darn polite and provide excellent service. I can't say enough about this little gem of a restaurant!
Curious Finder
I have NEVER posted a review for any restaurant, ever. My husband and I had lunch here with our son during Artprize, and family weekend at GVSU.
My husband ordered the BLT and has talked about that sandwich on average every hour and a half since we left the restaurant today at 3pm. It's now 11pm. He said it was the best BLT he's ever eaten and if he had one in front of him now, he'd eat that too!! My son said his burger was outstanding as well. I had the crab fried rice with fresh mushrooms and green beans, fabulous! We will be back to eat at Littlebird
without a doubt. By the way, the service was excellent too and so was the Salty Dog drink I had!😜
Aditya Karandikar
Service was exceptional and personable. The food was equally impressive and made for an awesome visit! Loved the vibe, kind of trendy but still a warm enough feel to be casual.
Chris Bearss
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at this quaint, little restaurant. Food was delicious, accompanied by lovely service. When visiting downtown GR, looking for breakfast - this is it!
Robb Morford
Littlebird was a wonderful upscale breakfast. From the locally roasted coffee (that I drank way too much of) through my main course of french toast, everything was delicious.
The space is tight with as many people as possible packed in there and makes for a very community focused vibe. You can't help but admire and ask about what your neighbor ordered.
Brian Wilson
This place was amazing. Very cozy. We went in on sunady morning. Had a group of 8 people. The host told us it would be about 30-40 min. And she was spot on. They were very accommodating & polite. The entire staff was great. The menu was fantastic made it difficult to choose everything looked great. I went with a special that wasn't on the regular menu and it was the best breakfast I've ever had. Im not from Grand Rapids. But next time im in town i will definitely be back in here.
fonz 2613
Let me tell ya a little something about Kimchi Hash, it's currently my favorite brunch dish in the city! The staff is really nice, but if you're not there when the doors open for brunch, expect you wait. My gf has tried lots of stuff on the menu and I've had bites of it all, always fantastic!
Travis Gross
Great little place with fantastic happy hour. Small plates were very tasty, especially the curry fries and scoth eggs. Drinks were well done and the service was top notch. Being from out of town I hope I can visit again.
Callie Ritsema
Awesome new spot! Went for breakfast this weekend. Food came out very quickly and all tasted excellent, they were accommodating to food intolerance's, and the atmosphere was so cute. Reminded me of a cute french cafe. Looking forward to going back!
Andrew Sendra
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but wow we were so very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Yes it was a long wait, we waited about 30 minutes to sit at the bar, but the food was incredible and the staff was very helpful.
We ordered the :
Salmon, Egg, Sandwich with the Dill Cream cheese.
The Mushroom Biscuits and Gravy
Side of Latkas.
Everything was better then we had expected. We really enjoyed this restaurant.
Only "negative" thing is their bloody mary does not come with fixins, just a sliced cucumber. That would be the only thing we'd change.
OH PS THEY HAVE MALORT THERE!!!!
Sean
Great vibes fire food
Vegan options
Had a sandwich that was like avocado toast but at its best 5 stars bahn mi wasnt that good though
Fred Abel
The buttered bun on the cheeseburger is amazing. I didn't love the Dijon Mayo, but it worked on the sandwich. The red pop rocked, but I forgot to stir it and got a lot of soda water in the top. Next time, I will skip the hash browns, cut the Dijon Mayo and the stir the red pop while I'm drinking it. Definitely worth a stop. I didn't try either one, but the avacado toast and the fried bologna looked great.
steven adegboye
It's a cute little spot would definitely go again. Prices comparable to san chez so a little pricey but worth it

We love everything and have been telling everyone. We finally found our "place" in Grand Rapids. Shel was great and truly cares about customers. The almond tea sounds weird but trust me is amazing. I'm still drooling about the gf lemon cake.
Luke Elkins
Very friendly service. I had a coffee and the avocado toast with salmon, my wife had black tea and the biscuits and gravy with sausage. Everything tasted fresh and was delicious.
Marie Smith
I’ve been to Little Bird twice now and they do not disappoint. If you’re a lamb and/or eggplant fan, definitely get the eggs in purgatory. Their craft cocktails are unique, tasty and well-balanced.
elsueno371
I always strive to find a local made from scratch type of food establishment in every city I go, this time coming back to Grand Rapids, I found another place that I now will consider a gem 👌🏼😎 The Littlebird Café’...everything I had was on point! Amazing recipes that made it a true experience to savor..so grateful for places like this fa Real! Will definitely come back!

It was our first time coming today. A Sunday, around 40 mins till close. It wasn't busy. I ordered the French toast and wilted greens. The french toast was good. However, the wilted greens were really, really salty. My bf ordered the eggs in purgatory and a side of potatoes. He felt that his main dish was not warm enough, not even room temperature - but cold. It was cooked though, so maybe it sat for a while or they didn't reheat it long enough. Maybe both. He was hungry so he still ate some of it and got the rest to go so he could have it hot later. The potatoes were underseasoned so I thought they paired well with the overseasoned wilted greens. I also got an iced matcha latte but it was only cold on top, and still warm when I got to the bottom. We would probably still come here again on a weekday, when they arent closing soon to see if there is a change in quality. It wasn't horrible and most of these things could be easy fixes or easy to overlook near closing time.
Ryan O'Shaughnessy
The food was amazing with popping flavors and a lime flavor that I did not get along with. However the customer service is way beyond expectations. I did not like the lime and they took my meal off the ticket! What, not even anyone’s fault. This is the place I will eat downtown Grand Rapids!
Leslie Liuzzo
Best burger in town. Nice variety of food you won't find anywhere else. The kimchi has browns are my favorite. Cozy, friendly atmosphere in a great downtown location.
Joshua Naramore
Great spot downtown for breakfast, lunch and happy hour. Vegetarian and vegan friendly food. I've yet to have any food that I wouldn't recommend. They have great cocktail options and outdoor seating during warmet months. This a gem in downtown.
Jason Grussing
Literally the best burger I've ever eaten. It's simplicity proves how the bun and patty are the heart and soul of an incredible burger. I went full Jughead mode and ordered another immediately after finishing the first. A must have.
Matthew Abraham
manager was very accommodating when a take-out mixup occurred. thoroughly tasty breakfast, worth navigating the Saturday brunch crowd.
philip nirchi
Loved this place! Delicious food and lovely staff!
Paul
Place was decent, staff/service was ok menu was very different. Food was ok. Drinks are wonderful! I definitely wont come back by choice or recommend but if I was invited I'd come. This will never be in my to 25 places to eat unfortunately. 3 stars might be pushing it. The drink saved it.
Rob Housman
Great breakfast options. Very unique! Very busy, but we were seated quickly and really enjoyed our meal. Great place to experiment with new flavors!
Terry Haynes
Wonderfu service & recommendations by our server. Veegetarian dish of mushroom and
sweet potato was amazing along w/ lemon shortbread for dessert. Sampled two wines prior to ordering a wonderful Reisling, Impeccable ambiance and wait staff attentive & exceptional! A highlight of our trip to GR.
Anna Signor
Cute little breakfast spot. Creative and delicious food and wonderful service.
Zeke Kooyer
The best restaurant for the price hands down. Food is incredible and in the $10-$15 range. Feels like something out of a bigger city. Breakfast, lunch, and cocktails are all phenomenal.
MLN
Better ingredients do not always make for better tasting plates. Portions are decently generous, though.
Paul White
Absolutely loved this place! Had the goat cheese omelette. This was outstanding. Had the sausage and it was so tickling my taste buds. Great service. Great atmosphere. What a great time. Way to go little bird.
Moon Circles Enchanted Garden
This is an eclectic eatery, with excellent coffee, tea, and alcohol. I enjoyed a lox and egg breakfast sandwich for lunch. The potatoes are awesome. There is vegan and vegetarian options too.
Ashley Mikita
Finally! For those mornings you don't want to stay in and eat cereal or make a mess in your kitchen - Grand Rapids officially has a tasteful breakfast place to start your weekend off right.
Ambiance is like an old apothecary space (I love it). Seating is limited, so hurry hurry during prime time; don't be afraid of the bar. It is a very enjoyable experience.
Menu is the same all days; very diverse and you can always find something for the mood you're in. Health wise, too.
Cocktail menu is organic and memorable - actually worth it. Keeps me coming back at least once weekly for one of those concoctions!
Price point is very appropriate for those who live DTGR and allow us to eat there three to four times per week. Large portion sizes, imho.
Definitely a new iconic eatery in GR. They'll need to expand in no time 💖

I've wanted to try all of the cocktails. But I've been in love with one in particular and have had a difficult time deviating. So, Mandi made me mini cocktails of the ones untried by yours truly! Love that girl. Love all the girls. Boys, too. You all rock my socks 😎😘.
Here goes:
Salty Dog
You've gotta love grapefruit! Refreshing spring and summer cocktail- not too sweet nor too tart- it's just very light and awakening. More of a luck or dinner cocktail, unless you pair it with the French toast.
Harvey Wallbanger
Gotta love fresh squeezed OJ- if you do...and if you're in the mood... Wondering, refreshing, pairs well with any classic breakfast entre - eggs, toast, meats, omlettes, french toast....
The LittleBird Spritz
Gotta love cinnamon and cloves. Cozy warm little cocktail- tastes like autumn. Do it up with a French toast or a slice of cake
The Brunch Manhattan
Gotta love cinnamon and cloves. More concentrated warmth and cozy feels. Anything goes. Any time.
Gene Gene the Dancing Machine
This is my favorite. Gotta love cinnamon and cloves and some fizz. If you do- this is the winner! It tastes like Hogwarts to me. It tastes like autumn morphing into Christmas. I think it pairs well with anything, anytime, or just solo at 9am in the morning 😜
Phil Collins
Gotta love celery and fizz! Exceptional summer cocktail. Very refreshing- very light. Sit on the patio or by the window and enjoy!!!
Natalie Cizmas
The food was delicious and my server, Lauren, was very friendly and made great recommendations!
Victor Frye
A delightful place to grab brunch. The food is well made and delicious with just enough of a unique twist to be memorable. Cannot give 5 stars though as service was slow and chaotic.
Annika VanNoord
Had been a big fan of Little Bird since I work down the street, but I brought a friend from out of town and had a less than ideal experience. My friend has a very severe peanut allergy, and the menu did not list his burger as containing peanuts. But he took one bite and started having a reaction. We had to leave and get medication from the car. Server offered to swap it for something else, but at that point my friend felt too sick to eat. Our server originally charged for his extra side of hash browns, but he took it off when we asked. Allergens (especially peanuts) NEED to be listed on the menu!
Kraig Erickson
Fantastic service and delicious food! The vibe needs a little help, meaning decor. Very clean and will be back for sure.
Jordan Nester
Amazing food and inventive menu. Not just an avocado toast kind of place (although they probably have that too?) we used their patio and had a great experience.
rafe siddons
Not bad, not great. Probably a good place to go in the morning after a hangover.
Clayton
get the burger. you won’t regret it.
Mike Ewer
Amazing food. Tried it for the first time as delivery during the Covid lockdown. Excellent tofu sandwich, marinated to perfection. Can't wait to check the place out for real!
Maggie Felix
My daughter and and i went for breakfast and it was delicious!! Not a disappointment. I will go back again
Daniel John
Expect to wait. Both times I've gone the wait has been crazy long. I'd love to see them expand into a bigger space so that wait times aren't so crazy, because the food is really, really damn good.
Rob Emahiser
Great coffee. Wonderful staff. Hearty and tasty breakfast. Start your day here
Zoe Pentaleri
No longer home to the best olive burger in the city. 🙁
The rest of the food is still pretty good, though.
Amy Ruis
Delicious burger, ramen, salad, breakfast. Shall I continue? Wine, beer, cocktails, coffee, ambience...it's relaxed, warm, and convenient. The owners have a passion for good food that reflects on all of it.
Aaron Burns
Decent food. Quick seating to the table. Crazy long wait for the food. Ingredients seemed fresh.
Maizie

Recently found this gem and 10/10 recommend the place is great. It has a coffee shop vibe with great breakfast, lunch, dinner options as well as coffee, pop, and a bar. The salmon plate for breakfast was great!
Mychal Nitta
Food and service was excellent! Our waiter Aidan was prompt, responsive, and friendly during a busy lunch. The food was simple and tasty and great for a light lunch. The wife and I will be back for more.
J Stef
Excellent breakfast (I had the egg scramble). They also have a fun selection of soda fountain drinks (double cherry, chocolate, vanilla).
Lemuel Hayes
The kimchi hash with pork belly was truly wonderful. A little spice, the bite of the kimchi, and the warm darkness of the potatoes and greens. Excellent meal with wonderful staff.
Sarah Lepp
We were seated basically right away with a group of 6 on a Sunday for brunch - we loved the food and service! Avocado toast was great.
Shannon Schneider
Best brunch food I have ever had. Also, cake was excellent at the bakery. But the mimosa was SMALL and expensive. Service at the bar was mediocre at best.
Tim Wanger
First time, met friend for lunch there. Small, intimate setting..The personnel was so nice, attentive, would highly recommend. Food was amazing. FRENCH TOAST, yum-yum.
Devon Williams
Get the burger. Add the egg. Thank me later. Simply fantastic. Light fluffy buttery bun. Two thin beef patties put together so it's cooked perfectly. Keep it up little bird.
Andrew S
Boujee little bar place with a delicious local sausage & eggs potato breakfast.
And my daughter lives nearby too.
Jonathan Joseph
Great food. Great atmosphere. Love that their menu changes with the seasons.

Amazing Kimchi Hash with Pork Belly! Outstanding service. Well worth the 20 minute wait to sit at the bar. Would of gladly waited longer! I’ll be back Littlebird......all the way from Hawaii! Mahalo for the ono grindz!!!

Hipster restaurant and over priced for what you get. Food was very bland and lacked the taste of any salts.
Raiyaan Movania
The food was great, but the service could be better. We asked for no peace and in our food and we still got it. On top of that we asked for eggs and never got them.
