I enjoy the chicken and the concept, but over the years waffles get a little smaller and the breading on the chicken is less fresh. Server was helpful and friendly. Fun, fairly small place reminds me of a JL Beers setting.

Where do I even begin? With the at times melt in your mouth brisket? The great smoke on it? The decadent strawberry cheesecake? All the sauces were great, but the Dakota BBQ sauce was a perfect pairing in my opinion with the brisket. A mix of their mustard and i think normal sauce. Great cornbread with an excellent honey butter. My waiter was always wanting to make sure my meal was perfect. The only way he could have done that was by sneaking me more brisket. The only fault I would give them, but very little fault would be their mac and cheese, a little under seasoned. Otherwise, trust me you want me to take you here.

NoBull smokehouse has great rib, the meat literally falls off of the bone. I loved the casual environment of the building. It was my first visit here but I felt welcome. The management and staff we're very cheerful and pleasing. When I'm able I will be visiting again.

We got a sampler platter and a couple sides. The service was excellent, as well as the food! We'll definitely be back for more. It came with ribs, pulled pork, brisket we substituted instead of chicken strips, delicious coleslaw and baked beans. The prices were good too.

Great service and wonderful chicken tenders. A wee bit salty for me and I would like a bit more seasoning instead of the salt but very juicy and tender. The mini waffles were also very good. Perfect portion and a decent price make this an excellent choice for downtown dining.

First time in ND, and thought I would try local bbq. Restaurant is clean and good stick of liquor and beer. Brisket cooked perfectly and sausage was good . Ribs tasted as if they’re boiled fist and so they tasted bland. Would come back Again for brisket

My review is definitely biased. Living in the South, Vinegar based and Mustard based BBQs are huge. For being 500+ miles away from where you find BBQ, I was incredibly surprised by how good it got. I think it was just the day but the pulled pork was slightly dried out, it could have simply been smoked at a high temp too quickly or the shoulder cut was a bit on the lean side. Regardless, it was still pretty good and the bartender knows how to make a good Old Fashioned.

My wife and I got lunch here. The service was awesome as we had someone very attentive. The food came out quickly, and everything tasted great! I got a combo of beef brisket and chicken fingers with a side of waffles, and it was all delicious!

Living in Europe, good BBQ is often more dream than reality. The dream comes alive at NoBull. Even though the name was a bit apt as they were out of brisket, the epic smoked chicken more than made up for it. Dense and buttery in places, it was memorably tasty and smoky. What takes the prize is the Dakota BBQ sauce. It was as if South Carolina mustard BBQ sauce and Western Carolina tomato-vinegar sauce eloped and escaped to North Dakota through the Witness Protection Program. Wow this stuff is good. Add in some tater tots, which were great vehicles for mainlining additional sauce. Prices are breathtakingly Democratic for this Republican state. Just come.

Best onion rings ever according to my hubby. And the brisket is fabulous! Pulled pork tot-cho’s appetizer was great as a meal for one person and a starter of cheese curds hit the spot. We will be back to try the ribs!

I am so glad we ate at this restaurant! There was not one thing on the menu that we ordered that was not the best of what we could find around. All of us in the group are longtime barbecuers and smokers; I would say we know a thing or two about the art. Every meat item we ordered was so smoky and so tender we were practically beside ourselves. The side dishes are a must-have. I am really looking forward to going back. I would like to add that service here was top notch and we didn’t really have to ask for anything extra: we needed drinks, extra items from the menu…the wait staff was right there before we could ask.

Whiskey was very affordable, service was great, it was fast too. The brisket was juicy and tender, the waffle was average, the baked beans was good. Overall, a nice place to have a descent meal and whiskey without having to spend a fortune. Great value :)

No Bull is exactly that! No Bull!!! It's absolutely amazing! Love the chill atmosphere, love the ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, and the Food....damn near put me in a coma, fabulous! Can you tell I like this place!? Bravo!

The brisket was really good. I did a mix of the regular and spicy sauce. Mac n cheese was also a hit. The chicken strips and beans (throw some bbq sauce in the beans too!) were also good. Too full for dessert.

By far the best Smokehouse food I've had in ND. Service was top notch as well. Drinks were great as well. The atmosphere was exactly what I was expecting and was much appreciated on this cold January day. I felt like I was almost taken to the south for an hour. That is a great feeling. I would highly recommend NoBull to anyone in Fargo or people traveling through. I rarely give out 5 stars, but if you deserve it you'll get it. Come experience this place for yourself.

Great BBQ. The pulled pork had the best smokey flavor I've had in a couple years, second only to Middle Texas BBQ. If you have the Jacks sweet tea be cautious, its a great drink that has great flavor and I could easy get carried away drinking it.

My son asked to come here for his birthday. We had been quite a few times prior to the covid shut down and first time back since the updated menu. The portions looked small for the price, but definitely filling with the side dishes. You can't go wrong with the beef brisket or chicken and waffles. This restaurant never disappoints.

Food, service and ambiance, this place excelled at it all. The staff enjoyed showing off the place; the food was delicious and didn't take too long; everyone was friendly and helpful. The lack of a plate was slightly off-putting, and I don't think adding fresh-brewed ice-tea to the menu would be a huge ask. If you go, try the poutine appetizer. I'll be back.

We went to NoBull Smokehouse on Friday night around 5:30-6, and were able to seat ourselves promptly on the back patio. Our server, Jada, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and just all around friendly. She was the perfect server! 2 people in my group ordered the mac and cheese with meat, and one ordered a combo with chicken and brisket. We also ordered an appetizer of poutine. While tasty, the portions were fairly small for the price, especially the poutine. It was pretty tiny, but did taste good. The mac and cheese was a miss - the noodles tasted like they had been sitting for a very long time - they essentially disintegrated in my mouth upon taking a bite. They had no chew - it was mush. The cheese sauce also didn’t taste like cheese? But the smoked sausage and BBQ sauce that was on top of my mac and cheese was incredible. Like, best smoked sausage I’ve ever had. My cocktail was overpriced with very little alcohol in it. I will be back to try their food again, but I will stick to just the smoked sausage and try a beer instead. In all, our server was great, the food did taste good, portions were small, but we would come back. Thank you, NoBull!

Food quality was very good and delicious, service was EXCELLENT, COVID response was moderate (spacing people apart could be better, but not bad enough for us to complain or leave, plus everything was very clean), enjoyable music, and nice atmosphere. My ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the Spicy BBQ made it perfect. Delightfully surprised at how fresh and tasty my salad was. The Cheesecake in a Jar was both art and yummy food. Their cornbread was some of the tastiest I've ever had. <3 My only wish was for the delicious portions to be bigger, I almost took a star off for the portion to cost ratio being off, but the quality of the food swayed me to give 5 stars anyways. Thanks for a great dining experience. :)

This is a response to the review that was made directly before this one on April 19th around 1 PM. (see photo below) I happened to come in to NoBull for lunch and I sat at the counter two stools down from the individual who wrote this review. I will not comment on the critique of the food as I did not have the ribs and of course everyone has different tastes. What I will say however that this is a disingenuous review based on the facts that were left out. The bartender offered 2 times ( while I was there) to get the individual anything else from the menu. They declined. He apologized for them not liking the taste (too spicy I guess). He was extremely considerate. When the patron left, I commented to him. "well you did everything you could". He professionally replied, thanks and I commented that his offer of replacing the food was absolutely reasonable. I also commented that they were taking pictures of the food and I expect that they will be posting a negative review online. I left approximately 10 minutes later and in the car, I looked at Google Reviews and sure enough it was here. This person must have either written the review while sitting there or immediately afterwards in car. It is a lesson for all that people that post without their name sometimes have another agenda. I also question the naming of another BBQ business. I am NOT stating that Jays BBQ had ANYTHING to do with this. I sure hope not because their BBQ stands on its own so I hope they don't feel like stooping down to this behavior. Side Note: I actually went to Jay's first but it was closed due to family emergency. Regardless, I flagged the review for Google hoping they will review it. IF not, here is an answer to it from a guy that watched it all unfold before him. In the end, NoBull and the bartender tried to make it right. No businesses win from disingenuous reviews. We need more people commenting on the good stuff out there. Anyway, my food was good.

Went there today for lunch on the road, and definitely wasn’t disappointed! The cornbread and honey butter were delicious, the cheese curds and tots weren’t greasy at all, and the meat was just fantastic! The brisket was excellent, and would just melt in your mouth, and the chicken was great! The cheesecake in a jar is the perfect bite-sized piece of creamy goodness. The service was amazing! We were greeted immediately at the door, and was given all necessary information, such as the fat cap on the brisket. I have allergies, and they even listed off every item I needed to avoid! Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be going again!

I now have proof that there is a higher power. Those ribs and brisket are to die for. I will not be caught either for the bodies that pile up while eating ribs and brisket. That's right, folks. I would fight bears, mountain lions, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson clones for this food. Great food and atmosphere. The beer 🍺 alone is worth the walk from South Fargo. And be sure to tell them "Sir Richard" sent you. They won't know what it means, but a nice quiet rumor is a great starting point for a great meal.😉😆

Absolutely a hidden treasure! The food can compete very well with Texas and Kansas BBQ, where I have lived before! Totally amazing menu and cooked to perfection. Ryan M who was our server is hands down one of the best servers I have ever came across in my years so definitely ask for him. The restaurant alone was top notch with appearance, music, and atmosphere. I will be back to try every item on the menu!

My boyfriend took me here for a surprise date last night. As someone who’s worked in food service myself I was AMAZED at how fast our food came out!!! Unfortunately I left my ID at home and couldn’t get a drink but my boyfriend said his was made perfectly. The food tasted great. The ribs are so tender and fall off the bone way better than those at Texas Roadhouse who claim their are “award winning fall off the bone” and their buttermilk chicken is some of the best chicken I’ve ever had. The sweet BBQ sauce is a PERFECT complement to the chicken, ribs, and pulled pork. I also love the little chunks of meat in the beans. Our server, Jordan, was also very nice. Will definitely be returning!

I liked it. Service was average. Food was good. Portion size was typical for that kind of place. I didn't care for the cornbread muffins...they were dry. The corn casserole was good. Brisket was good. Pulled pork was good. I'd go back. 1 beer, 1 pop, 2 meats, 2 sides and 2 cornbread muffins was $24 without a tip.

I have only tried the pulled pork and the chicken fingers. Plain, I was hoping for more smoke flavor. Almost like it relied on the bbq sauce to excite your taste buds and that certainly left me satisfied, but not pumped to come back right away or add to the lunch rotation. Service was definitely good. I am thinking I will give them another shot with the ribs or brisket some day and may amend my review.

Excellent BBQ! We are a military family relocating across country and a foodie (food blogger). We take every chance while we are relocating to eat at recommended restaurants and enjoy what each state /city has to offer. I am glad we decided to take a little break from driving and explore downtown Fargo. I smelled their BBQ from the street and couldn’t resist. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! We had lunch and EVERYTHING was delicious. I ordered the Sticky BBQ ribs, with the onion rings and beans. My husband ordered the brisket, 1/2 lb of chicken, cole slaw, grandmas potato salad and pulled pork. My in laws ordered pulled pork nachos. My lids ordered the Mac & cheese with chicken tender. I didn’t hear one complain. We all devoured the food, shared and had a great time!!!! My recommendation is … sell your amazing BBQ sauces!! They make every single sauce in house and they are scrumptious , specially the Dakota BBQ sauce. A very unique flavor. I would have bought a jar in a heart beat! From someone that eats in a lot of restaurants, travel a lot and enjoys good food …..bravo! It was delicious. I plan to visit again!!!

Great food. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Went here with my wife and three kids. The staff was friendly with my three tinies (6, 3 and 2). We all had a chance to get settled and order. Wait time was normal. Food tasted great. Their sauces were on point and my kids loved the chicken waffles. My son said, “Dad we should come back here. I love it so much.” I think he’s got a good idea.

Pros Has an improved menu from when their first opened. Adequate portions and fun service. Has always seemed to have quick service. They have booths - I like booths Cons Not too large of a space. I eat a lot of barbecue all over the country and the bark on that brisket is worth coming for. Truly delicious. That corn was so good. Reminds me of the corn soufflé at City Barbecue in Columbus, OH. The pulled pork is good not great - the sauce with the light blue top is the way to go. The pork is juicy but I prefer a smokier flavor. Beans were good not great.

Great ribs, beans, pickles and drinks. Mac and cheese was redeemed by the sausage that was included and perfectly compliments it. The environment was very pleasant and unique to this area and our service was excellent. The sauces weren't my favorite and I didn't care for the bread as it tasted like it was a little old but altogether I was very pleased with everything.

Was there this evening. Pulled pork was nothing special, sausage was the same, scalloped corn was dry, mac and cheese was ordinary. I work in a place that does a smokehouse menu and I am on the sausage making team and do a better job. Service was above average and the cornbread was good. Both the bartender and server were good.

Best brisket I've ever had. Melts in your mouth tender. Ribs are okay but I like that they aren't served with sauce on them. Sauce can be added at your table. Great sides and all around great place for smoked meat. Service was top notch!! I will go back next time I'm in Fargo and I recommend to everyone.

The ribs are almost perfectly cooked. A very nice blend of seasonings that make any sauce a wasted addition. They really should consider opening up in Kansas City as well as around the Fort Myers area. The prices are just about spot on for the quality. Very friendly, professional staff.

Ate here several times during a project in Fargo - they don’t disappoint. Between the multiple meals we had several smoked meats - all on point. I’m pretty picky on the quality of ribs I eat and theirs were great! Their cheesecake jar desserts are also pretty awesome.

The food here is amazing. I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s always good and the atmosphere is great as well. I don’t agree with the mask mandates but if you are worried about going out come to this place. They are doing everything by the book and I never once saw a staff member take their mask off while in the restaurant.

Fantastic service but food was terrible for the price. The atmosphere is wonderful and the Long Island ice tea was great but the ribs were over seasoned and long over cooked. The poutine was cold when served and very small for the price. The pulled pork tasted like pure fat. I am extremely disappointed in the taste of the food. Looked like an awesome BBQ joint but was not. Cheaper and better at famous Dave’s.

Great food. Loved the cornbread they give right away. Very moist. Tried the COWamari. Chewy but delicious. Tried the sampler. Everything was delicious. My only complaint about it is I wish they gave you some buns or some decent bread. Instead they give you 3 slices of just plain white bread that you can find in any grocery store.

This spot caught the corner of my eye as I drove by on Broadway. They've been open coming onto a year. When I arrived (around 5 PM), it was about 1/4 to 1/3 full. The service was great and I decided to try the sampler platter. ($29 - serves 2 - 3 people). Although the menu is pick and choose, I wanted the convenience of just getting a taste of everything without the piecemeal ordering system! I knew there would be at least two meals for me and that was just fine!

Great BBQ, brisket was some of the best I have ever had. Ribs had amazing flavor, possibly a bit overdone ( almost fall off the bone) but great flavor. If you are only in Fargo for a couple nights, make this one of your stops.

This is a great smokehouse. As I was eating I forgot I was in Fargo, ND and thought I was somewhere else with "big city" food. Very delicious! Only downside is those under 21 need to be out by 9:45pm which is not much of a downside for those of us over 21! Otherwise great atmosphere, great beer, and great food!

We love going to No Bull! Really cool environment and great service. Even when the place is packed the servers can get around to you very quickly! Their drink specials are amazing also! This is a great place to eat the prices are good. The waitress was great I didn't even have my drink half gone and she already filled it like 4 times. The atmosphere is awesome , there was all kinds of cow skins even on the lamp shade. I recommend this highly if you're gone for a barbecue.

Shockingly good. The environment doesn't do much for me though I know others dig it. Service is OK. BBQ punches above it's weight. Chicken spice is nice but lacks crispiness. Go get some ribs and pulled pork with slaw and you will be happy.

O. M. G!! FINALLY after over 3 years I FINALLY found our new GO TO bbq place! All the meat we ordered was perfection. The pork and ribs were delicious. The brisket still tasted like beef yet you can taste the smoke flavor. The mac & cheese and coleslaw were super yummy, along with the sliced pickles. But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is the corn casserole!!!!! It's closest comparison would be Mexican corn cake...but BETTER! PLEASE, DON'T EVER CHANGE A THING!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

I've read a few of the less than nice reviews, another words one or two star reviews. These people are pitching a gripe about things like service and drinks and prices. I understand it's Fargo that's why they have such responses and reviews. I grew up in Texas I know barbecue and this place makes True BBQ. It's not cheap it's not meant to be cheap. If I want a drink special I will go to a bar if I want in your face smiling and asking how you're doing every two minutes service I will go to Fridays or Ruby Tuesday's. And folks you don't go to a barbecue joint and order chicken tenders. Yes there on the menu because people have children, so please don't pay any attention to a review of an adult who ordered chicken tenders or mac and cheese. One more tidbit of info.... true side serve BBQ sauce is not supposed to be half sugar and thick like you get at the grocery store. They don't sauce their meat which is a must for real barbecue. If you want sauce you can get sauce, it will be on the side where it belongs. This is a BBQ joint people, this is where you go to relax and enjoy Great Smoked Meat. Where you should not be in a hurry, because smoked meat is not a hurried science. You're not going to find better barbecue in North Dakota or anywhere Midwest north of St Louis. My guests and I had a pound of brisket and a full rack of ribs ordered to go. Everything was smoked to perfection, the smoke ring on the brisket was absolutely beautiful. The flavor was right on, it wasn't overcooked which is what you usually get. The ribs had a perfect dry rub on them and they were juicy and tender. If I could give more than five stars I certainly would, because you took me back home and you can't buy that hardly anywhere especially in Fargo.

The highest compliment I can pay you is you taste as good as driving country roads in Texas and finding Bubba and cousin Weenie's BBQ truck parked by the side of the road. Happy Hey !!!! Hands down my Favorite "Go To" restaurant. I have ordered twice now thru Grubhub. Both times the food was above five stars. Should have a hundred stars, for No Bull!!!! My last order (at home) I portioned out on my plate. When I started eating I realized I had spent the first several minutes just eating the sides. They are just that good!! Then the ribs just feel off the bone, and melted in my mouth. Now when I order thru GrubHub I order enough, to make me four separate meals. So I often will order two of each side. I just can not express how delicious each item is. I could make a full meal, from each side or meat. I have rode past this little place so many times. I always noticed and promised myself to go there one day. Well now if I am dinning out. IT IS HERE AT NO BULL!!!!!!! I have only one suggestion for this restaurant. On each table have an empty (tip) jar, with the sign "JUST SAY'N " on it. I can not begin to say Thank you!!! JUST SAY'N.................

I'm torn between 3 & 5 stars. Personally, I give it three, but that's only because of personal preference. However, I do recognize quality. What they do is not for me, but what they do is smoked meat and they do it exceptionally well! However, even if their meat does not float your boat, their sides are amazing as well. Despite my preferences, I cannot help but give them an outstanding and would strongly encourage visiting if you're in the mood for meat!

The chicken here is like no other around. They have expanded their menu to cater to a broader audience. They offer both fried chicken finders (which are undeniably the best I have ever had) and grilled chicken for salads and wraps. It is smaller venue and has a really neat decor. The bar is nice too. They do 2-4-1s during happy hour from 4-6 everyday and again 10-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The bartenders are fun too. Would recommend to everyone!

Very under-whelming. Dry rubs not suttle at all, overdone with the peppers. Pulled pork had the flavor of peppered dirt. Ribs tasted like they had been smoke over Kingsford Charcoal. Their Original BBQ Sauce was a saving grace for the food as it actually had some flavor. Service was very attentive and helpful, it's what earned the third star for NoBull.

Compared to the predictable franchise restaurants around the mall, NoBull Smokehouse was a pleasant surprise and the highlight of our weekend in Fargo. In my party of seven, everyone loved their meals, the friendly service from Ryan, and the super cool atmosphere and decor. My only suggestion is for NoBull to add some local beers on tap. I highly recommend that travellers venture away from the big box stores and chain restaurants and head downtown to NoBull Smokehouse!

I've loved the place before they were offering beef ;) I'm constantly telling people to try it out. One of the recent additions to the menu is the beef brisket. Let me tell you - I've lived in Oklahoma and Texas where brisket is king. In the south its more of a drier roast. I love it in the south. But, I also love it at No Bull which has a really, REALLY JUICY (see picture) brisket! It required no sauce. That's the real test of a beautifully cooked slab of meat. It virtually melted in my mouth. Did I mention how juicy it was?!? *sigh* I haven't had dinner yet....maybe? We'll see. I've yet to finish this review as it's been almost a week's time! The sides I chose were cole slaw and tator tots. The cole slaw has a delicious creamy sauce, not too tart or acidic. The tator tots were hot and fresh with a nice crisp exterior. Quite honestly any of the side dishes are equally as appealing. Choosing one over the other would be a difficult task. My cohort chose the pulled pork, corn casserole, and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese is a creamy smooth delicious blend with a hint of seasoning. Yummy! The corn casserole is very good, but dare I say...a bit too much corn? -if that makes any sense. Perhaps a bit of breading to offset the corn over load. I love corn, but for some reason I feel this way about the casserole. The pulled pork is a savory choice and you can choose to top it depending upon how "saucy" you feel! Tee hee! All of the female servers are WONDERFUL! Last we were there we also had an opportunity to visit with Mykel, the manager. He's definitely a great asset to No Bull with his ability to recognize the importance of customer satisfaction. Sidebar: he also has a very calm way about him ++++. I still have not had dinner! My review has enticed me to return to No Bull tonight. So tonight will find me in a delirious brisket laden stupor.
