Reviews of Sushi Den
Ming Xiao
I’ve been to many sushi restaurants in town. Many are not worth writing a review. I finally can say I’ve found my favorite sushi spot in Denver. A reservation is highly recommended. There could be a long line waiting to get in even if you go there before 5 pm. My first bite was the Toro from Croatia. It was love in first bite. It was buttery, rich and just melted in your mouth. I don’t remember how many re-orders I put in after that. All of the others were fantastic too. The price is reasonable. The portion size is decent. What a great meal!

I think it’s weird to expect good sushi, let alone great sushi, in the middle of a land-locked state but here we are. We loved Sushi Den.
This was worth the calories and the price. I finally see why reservations are almost always sold out. I do wish they offered an omakase experience (if they do, I don’t know where to look) because I’d gladly be a regular patron.
Get everything from the catch of the day menu and you’ll have an amazing experience. That is all.

I’ve been coming here for years on special occasions. They always have high quality sushi standard and it has been consistent throughout the year even post pandemic. Always ask your server for their favorite since reading 4-5 different menus can be overwhelming. The food quality and presentation are excellent. Highly recommend this place.

We went here for my birthday and sat at the sushi bar. Cruz was our sushi chef, he did an amazing job. The food was great, sake was great as well (we ordered the sake flight). The sushi is very reasonably priced considering the high level of quality. We will definitely be back!

I had really really high hopes from this restaurant and finally got a weeknight dinner reservation. Good things first - the ambience is classy and warm. Perfect for a date night or gathering of friends/family. Drinks are good - I ordered Blackberry slush something and it was good (very leas alcohol, mostly just juice)
I am very sad to say this but the food was average and very pricey for what they serve quantity and quality wise. We ordered spider roll which had such a pungent smell and horrible taste that I did not eat after one bite. It smelled filthy! The other rolls were okish. I had high expectations from the tiger prawns dish. For a dish that costs $30, they serve 5 pieces of tiger prawns with a teeny tiny bit of mango chunks (which they call mango salsa) and a scoop of mashed potatoes. The prawns were kind of bland and not grilled to perfection. We paid around $120 for 2 people and still had to go home and eat. Did not want to try desserts and we were let down by the food and very pricey dinner (which was not worth it)
I would not go back here again. Just wanted to see what all the hype is about Sushi den. There are way better sushi spots in Denver!

This place has it all. The best sushi I've ever had by far. Service has always been great. Suggestions on pairings of sake and sushi are always amazing. Servers definitely take their time with each table. Ambience is outstanding. Definitely a spot to keep coming back to and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great sushi experience.

This place is fire, but you're gonna pay for it. The fish quality is as good as any place I've ever had in NYC, LA, Japan. I was going to give it 4 stars because the only thing I can say that could use a little work was the rice. It wasn't bad by any means, the texture was good but not the best I've ever had, and it could have been seasoned a little better. The rice can make or break a place but it was good, and the fish quality 5 stars plus.

Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. They fly sushi in from Japan daily and all of it was incredible and not run of the mill sushi you could get anywhere. We had a waitress who gave us recommendations we followed fully to great success. This is THE Denver sushi spot, don’t miss it.

One of the best and my go to restaurants for sushi in Denver. From the binchotan charcoal to the fish they use, the quality speaks for itself. One of my favorites is the scallop nigiri that’s been grilled with their special charcoal. Pair it with a cold sake and you have bliss.
It’s always busy here so make sure you left in line before the restaurant opens, or place a reservation.
J.M. Serrano
One of the most beautiful restaurants in Denver. Period.
I highly recommend this place for date night. The food was good but the aesthetic was incredible. Get yourself a table on the second floor and feel transported to a world of lights and nature. Will definitely come again 👍

We had an incredible experience at the sushi bar. The food was outstanding and the service was the best that we have ever had. Mr Yasu made amazing suggestions, told us some stories and even challenged us with special treats. We can't wait to go back.

Sushi Den was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and it lived up to its hype. We split the Osaka style Aburi Sockeye Salmon, which was perfectly seared and delicious. Next we ordered a kitchen special; the crispy spicy tuna. It was very flavorful with a light spice to it. Lastly our server said her favorite dessert was the Belgian Chocolate Mousse cake, so we gave it a try and it did not disappoint! We personally enjoyed sitting on the second level as it had a much more enjoyable ambience and during the warm months has a section of the roof that opens. Enjoy!

This place is amazing. Incredible sushi, and the only sushi restaurant that I would go to JUST for the desserts. The mousse cake is amazing. Only downside is the prices have gone up 50% in the last 2-3 years so expect a heavy bill after dinner.
Cynthia M
My husband and I did the omakase at Sushi Den. Overall, I think their sushi and nigiri are the most worth it because the quality is phenomenal. Their oysters were very fresh and their cod and eggplants were cooked perfectly too (the eggplant was a very planar surprise, really loved the flavor). Now, where I’m deducting a star is for the hand rolls we got which we believe were extremely underwhelming and for the snow crab w/ caviar which primarily tasted of mayo… which I thought was insanely disappointing. These items also made up the biggest portion of our check so it was very unfortunate. I think if they took those out and gave us more sushi / nigiri instead, we would’ve been beyond happy. With that said, overall we had a good experience and again, the quality of the seafood was amazing. I would recommend, just be mindful of the hand rolls and snow crab (esp if you don’t like mayo!)

This is the best sushi I've had in Colorado, without question, BUT you have to either get here super early or make a reservation. Also, finding parking is somewhat of a challenge as well, arriving to the restaurant 30min early can alleviate that issue!
There are two sides to this sushi restaurant. We sat at the bar in Sushi Den.. Sitting at the bar is always a thrill for us - However, for some reason, it seemed like the waitress was always sneaking up and buzzing in our ear... some people like that, some people don't. Other than that, everything else was great.
Angel L.
Line starts at Izakaya Den and there was already a long line before 4:30 opening time but was still able to get a seat without reservation. Parking can be validated at the nearby parking garage for 2 hours. Great service with great food! I enjoyed their rolls more than any of the Catch of the Day options. Will be back to try more of their signature dishes!
🍣Crispy Spicy Tuna (⭐️5/5): a delectable treat! rice was crispy but not hard, topped with slightly spicy tuna chunks ($12)
🐟Jalapeño Sashimi (⭐️5/5): beautiful presentation of very fresh half kampachi and half hamachi ($18)
🦪Penn Cove Oysters(⭐️1/5): Tiny oysters bathed in a tasteful citrus sauce, but boy these were so tiny and boy do they pack a powerful oyster taste, I would skip if you don't like super raw taste of oysters($8)
🐟House Roll w/ Eel (⭐️3/5) : A standard roll with eel and avocado ($16)
🦀Spider Roll (⭐️3/5): crispy soft shell crab ($14)
🐟Salmon Tartar Handroll (⭐️5/5): chunky bits of fresh salmon dressed in a tad bit too much mayo with caviar on one side of the roll ($14)
🐄Wagyu Beef Roll (⭐️1/5): could only taste the beef which was like overcooked hotpot meat slices, very beefy flavor is all you taste, ($14)
🍣Bluefin Toro, Spain (⭐️2/5): the fish was fresh and fatty, but it could use a tad more sear-so should order the aburi style
🐙Aburi Hotate Scallop (⭐️1/5): yuck, thought it was Hell's Kitchen style seared scallops, but turned out to be barely torched resulting in a slimy/gooey raw shrimp-like texture
🍣Osaka Salmon (⭐️3/5): double F, fatty and fresh! Remove the tiny death pepper on top cuz it was SPICY!
🐟Crispy Bincho (⭐️0/5): tuna tempura was fried, LITERALLY, tastes like overcooked chicken breast that's been sitting in the oven for 50 hours, it was THAT tough and dry ($14)

Went with my daughter and a friend didn't have reservations but the were able to accommodate us relatively quick.
Would recommend to any sushi addicts.
Had a spider and Wagu roll plus additional pieces from our party of 3.
Was on the expensive side as expected but worth it.
Nikki Banner
Perfect sushi spot for a night out. All the sushi is so fresh tasting. It is pricey but it’s worth it. Make sure to get there early or you’ll be waiting. I prefer to get wine here over cocktails. The black miso cod was so tasty 😋 Can’t wait to go back

This place has set the bar for any other sushi restaurant I visit from now on. My SO and I had a wonderful dinner with our excellent waiter, Su. It was our first time and he gave us a rundown of recommendations with great detail. Highly recommend for the experience and the quality food.
Mahesh Karekar
Family visit over the weekend. We were able to park on street from blocks away. Tough to get reservations Over weekend.booked one for 9pm.There was line and small wait upstairs before we were seated to our table.Interior is great. Ordered sushi dinner came with salad and California roll.Rainbow roll, tuna rolls, house roll were all good. I would skip bincho roll.Don’t forget the tempura assorted plate it’s a must have.Dessert was banana cream pie which was good. Totals spent little under $200 with tip included for 3 guests. Server provided amazing service.I recommend this place.

Fish delivered fresh off the airplane from Japan! This restaurant has amazing fish and the preparation is stunning and delicious. Nice Japanese/modern ambience . Our waiter knew the menu very well and didn't steer us wrong with any of his recommendations.

Best sashimi ever!!
I read about Sushi Den in a book based in Denver and it sounded like the type of place I’d like to visit.
I dropped in for lunch, I was flying solo so grabbed a seat at the Sushi Bar which was great as you can see the sushi chef’s prepping the dishes right in front of you, all their mad skills on display. Their knife skills are beyond, honestly they moved so fast it was a blur.
Onto the food, it was ah-mah-zing (insert jazz hands ). I order the sashimi mix and chili chicken, both were outstanding, the sashimi was some of the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of sashimi.
The restaurant is also super cool, all zen wood and concrete, it’s great. There’s off street parking available.
If you’re in Denver, and you love sushi, get yourself to Sushi Den 🍣
Garrett Webb
Incredible sashimi, sushi, etc. Our server Su gave all excellent recommendations and made the meal so much better listening to our preferences and then surprising us with different sushi pieces that were all fantastic and different. Highly recommend coming in for small plates, sashimi, sushi, etc. Thanks Su!!
Sara Abdulla
This is the place to splurge on sushi. The freshest fish in Denver, guaranteed. Also, if you’re looking for a hot entree, the spicy prawn dish is divine. Can’t go wrong with the crispy tuna either. The new izakaya area is beautiful!
Cody Weikel
A very unique and exceptional experience with amakasa style dining. We were offered a wide variety of sushi prepared in traditional and modern methods. The service was very friendly and patient as they explained each dish to our table. Our meal was paired with a chilled sake and a grand selection of desserts.
Sergio Strugar
One of the best sushi you will ever have! Very fresh and superb fish quality! Been coming here for 15 years and never once was I disappointed! Absolutely amazing.
Nasa Sousa
Best sushi in Denver! The service was amazing and everything was delicious! A little pricy, but you get fresh seafood! Would definitely come back! :)
Brea Yapuncich
Best sushi place in town! Get reservations early. This place is always packed. The freshness and selection cannot be beat.
Dylan Kennett
The best sushi me and my wife have ever had. Our server Zachery (hopefully spelling that right) was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and helped us choose what we might like or what to experience. Major props to him. Cannot sing the praises of this place high enough.
Kendal McMakin
I was so excited to eat here bc I’ve heard raving reviews about this place. It wasn’t up to the hype in my opinion. I’d much rather spend my money at UCHI. Our service wasn’t great and we had to get up to get our check because it took so long for our server to check on us. The food was decent but not up to the standard the price demands. The lychee margarita was however very good.
john monteiro
One of the best Sushi places in Denver. The food was so delicious. Feel it's a bit pricey, but worth it.
Sarah K
I'd heard rave reviews about this place and booked a reservation 3 weeks in advance. When we got there, the huge line down the sidewalk said it all, and I was happy to skip it. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant, my favorites being the spicy crunchy tuna and the wagyu skewers. The ambiance is amazing, especially the 2nd floor. Will 100% come again with friends!
Nattisia Ingram
We arrived at Sushi Den at 4:10 to be seated at 4:35. The line is quick if you arrive early! We usually order Togo but decided to dine in. Service was good. Not the fastest but still okay.
Food tasted fresh and the sushi was good! Most likely will stick to Togo orders but enjoyed the upstairs part of the restaurant!
george markey
Some of the best sushi I’ve had! Our server was able to teach us proper sake etiquette and gave great recommendations!
Nghia Le
The food was so delicious with high quality! The vibe was magnificent, which you expect to get from fancy high-end restaurants! I recommend ordering the sashimi/deluxe sushi platters and the wagyu beef!
Patrick
A friend of ours recommended that we go here and we were not disappointed. Everything from beginning to end was absolutely delicious. We started off with some beautiful oysters that were so beautifully presented. We then followed up with two different sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken. The sushi rolls came with fresh pickle, ginger and fresh wasabi! The teriyaki chicken was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. We finished off with one of their handmade desserts. The dessert was the pineapple upside down cake and it was absolutely out of this world. If you are in the area you should definitely stop by. You will not be disappointed.

I recently dined at Sushi Den and was blown away by the exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and created a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The sushi was nothing short of amazing - each piece was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh and the ingredients used were top-notch. I especially enjoyed the specialty rolls, which were unique and delicious.
In addition to the fantastic food, the service was top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations. The attention to detail and exceptional customer service made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sushi Den to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. From the exceptional food to the outstanding service, I give Sushi Den a solid 5 stars. I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of their delicious offerings.
Abigail Torres
Sushi and dumplings was delicious! The blackberry blush drink definitely would get again. We had a great and informative server, Steven!
Bryan Heatherington
Everything about this place was perfect. So we got there early at 5pm, and was seated promptly. No issues, we ordered the tuna rolls and loved every ounce of them. Also had the shrimp tempura roll and some sort of surf and turf roll, that was excellent. The dinning room and sushi bar are one of a kind. Plus the location in Denver, Old Pearl St area, nice neighborhood feel with the best sushi in Denver. Check them out, recommended for date night!
Keith Wahl
Best sushi experience I’ve ever had. Tremendous service and recommendations. Amazed.
Sarah Geehan
Worth. The. Hype. Honestly not too crazy of prices either - I’d heard it’s super expensive but I thought we got very high quality food for a decent price. Definitely the best sushi in the area.
Jordan Sandy
Hands-down next sushi I have ever experienced. I would fly back to Denver just to have this meal again. I highly recommend this place if you like quality sushi. A bit pricey but totally with every penny. Our server was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about each dish. No reservations at this time due to staffing, but walk in wait at prime time was only about 10 minutes.
James
This place has ruined sushi for me anywhere else!
Level set expectations first.
1. This is a sushi place. Get the sushi. Specifically, the sushi their chef has come up with, they're known for and you can't get anywhere else. Trust me.
2. This is a sushi place. This is not a steak place. You probably won't be stuffed when you leave.
3. This is a high quality place. Expect to pay for a high quality experience. It will be worth it, if you understand what you're getting and get the most out of your experience.
4. This is a popular place. Expect to wait.
5. It can be noisy. If you'd like a quieter experience, ask for a table on the patio.
The fish is amazing and fresh, the flavors are well-balanced and absolutely delicious and the pacing of the meal is perfect for a date night. I would highly recommend going with someone (or a group) who like to share. Get a handful of different items and try a range of their offerings. You may be surprised which ones you like! Also, try some sake! We got the sake flight and it was fun trying different sake with the different sushi plates.

Sushi Den is our favourite sushi restaurant in Denver. We had a minor hiccup upon checking in for our reservation-we were sent to the other side of the restaurant to check in...only to return to the original side to be seated. Other than that, our experience was excellent. They were out of a few of my partner's favourites (like purple haze sake) but our waitress gave excellent recommendations that we ended up enjoying almost as much. They were quite busy but our food came out quickly when we ordered it. The staff allowed us time to enjoy our meal before checking in and offering to take any additional orders we may want to put in. The bartender left the bar to ensure that the chocolate martini we ordered was made specifically to our taste and it turned out perfectly. The sushi was incredible-excellent freshness and flavour-we finished every bite. Would highly recommend for any occasion! They have options for vegetarians as well as non-sushi lovers so everyone can enjoy eating here.
Jared
Average sushi. Do not expect much roe or big portions of fish. It's a lot of rice. Really sad about the eel being cold. Sent it back and they sent another eel. Slightly warmer but still not warm. One problem is likely the size of the establishment. It's the walmart of upsale-ish sushi.
Diane Costulas
Sushi Den is the best sushi I have ever experienced within the contiguous US. The service is fast and the staff is friendly and helpful. The sashimi is incredibly flavorful. The tuna and whitefish are my favorites. The spider rolls are always my favorite on any menu. The Den’s eel sauce is incredibly delicious. I’d recommend trying anything that has the sauce. And they have Sapporo on tap. This place is one of my top 10 favorite restaurants. Well done!
Souphaphone Phasavath
Best sushi spot in Denver. Been going here for since 2013. I have tried other high end spots in Cherry Creek and they don’t match up. Sushi Den’s sister restaurants are good too. These are my top dishes; sushi deluxe, chirashi bowl (if I have someone available to help me), shiracha garlic shrimp (sooo delicious), wagyu beef kushiyaki, salmon belly aburri (a must try!), miso cod, miso soup (great quality) and the desserts! Chocolate cake and banana pudding a great way to end the night.
Emily Maldonado
The sushi here is phenomenal! My husband and I ordered various rolls & also some items off of the special menu, and all were fantastic. Our server, Kristin, was so friendly and genuine, and made our experience so much better. I would recommend waiting in line for a spot on the patio-if you ask for a more secluded table, it is perfect for date night.
Cassie McCurdy
Haven’t been since 2013 but it was even more amazing then I remembered. Our server was wonderful. We went with so many things he suggested and it was all amazing!
neeshe5280
Out of this world sushi + service! Even on a busy Saturday night where the restaurant opened with at least 50 people in line out front; we were seated immediately and loved our meal!
J B
First, the restaurant is gorgeous. Service was attentive and friendly. The food is good, but nowhere near the quality of a dozen notables in NYC, LA or Seattle. I ordered the chirashi and some additional seasonal sushi and it was all solid, but nothing a standout. I’m frankly surprised at all the “best sushi ever” comments. It didn’t come close for us.
Andy Feliciotti
Fantastic sushi! I will be returning, on our visit we had to wait 45 minutes so I recommend getting a reservation.
Carol Call
Just amazing food and a phenomenal server. Loved the sake options!! Highly recommend the sake I got!
Katharine Tokosh
Caroline and trainee was very patient and helpful in recommending food items. The food was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend if you are in the Denver, CO area. This is an experience worth adding to your trip.
Alexis Steele
I am writing this review because our server tonight, John, was incredible. We came for my birthday and John’s industry knowledge as well as knowledge of Sushi Den’s menu created the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Will come back for the great food but also especially for the stellar service that we received.
Dr. Greg Garrison
Loud hip sushi spot! Gets crowded-Atmosphere is good! Sushi is well made and told where it is imported from on menu! Parking is first come on street in cute neighborhood- Has a patio for “patio season” Only open for short hours so go early to get seating no reservations currently accepted!
Ariel Phillips
Delicious! Excellent selections, options for everyone in our group. Friendly staff. They even have dessert options.
Freya Nox
If you have a very discerning pallette and like sushi it's a good place. This is one of those fine dining places where you realize it's really hard to tell the difference between regular quality and the fancy version for most people myself included. It's worth going for the experience. Seating is very hit or miss they might put a bunch of people at a tiny table.
OMBO SAPOVERDE
Love this place! The food is amazing, the presentation is delightful and the ambiance is relaxing. A place to enjoy a family, friends get together, or just on your own. You will come back for more, I guarantee it!
Jeremiah Rhome (J. R.)
The freshest sushi in Denver. The quality is on par with places in Tokyo.
Kelly Perry Ayers
Had a wonderful experience here! The sushi was absolutely delightful. A super friendly staff & great management made this visit top notch. Glad to have such a gem in the neighborhood!
A Gershkovich
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Colorado for over 20 years, unfortunately my last visit was disappointing. The menu is less than half of its original, the specialty roll list is about a third of it predecessor. The sashimi and sushi is still wonderful, however the cuts were inconsistent from one round to the next, depending on who was preparing that particular batch. I understand that much has to do with the staffing issues, however considering my past experiences, I expected more.
Trevor S
Usually we have the best experience and the sushi is amazing. However, the last time we dined in was met with a waiter who seemed like he was trying to rush us through, while also the sushi was not that great. Example the wagyu beef roll was COLD and the steak seemed Tough as opposed to the melt in your mouth rich taste you come to expect with wagyu.
Fell way short of our expectations given we spend >$200 each time.
Cheng-Li Ma
Miso black cod is probably the best thing here. Sushi is pretty average. Be prepared to dish out ~$70/person before drinks and tips. If you want traditional sushi there are more affordable places elsewhere in town. You're paying a premium in atmosphere.
Abbey Pint
I’ve eaten here a hundred times and have never been disappointed. The quality is exceptional with fresh fish brought in daily. My favorite items on the menu are the Miso Black Cod and all the sashimi plates. I order these every time I visit. They have wonderful sake options as well. I’ll be coming here forever.
Paul V
Some of the best food I've had in my entire life. Best sushi I've ever had, hands down. If you want to take your date to an upscale, unparalleled sushi restaurant, this is the place. Not cheap, but worth the experience!
Maryam Sohail
We didn't enjoy the sushi that much but once the entrees came out we completely fell in love. The Entrees are SO good! I got the Ribeye steak and my sister had the garlic shrimp. Both were amazing.
Eric Muller
Made a reservation for the chef’s table which is currently taking place at izakaya den (next door to sushi den). It was a 7 course meal and everything was exceptionally fresh and unique. The chef, Yasu, was friendly and expertly prepared each dish. Everything was excellent. The experience was well worth the wait (over a month). I would highly recommend sushi den or izakaya den for high end sushi.
Chin Song
Very good sushi, but almost too popular/trendy. Just can't put it to words but there are places with lesser quality sushi that have a better dining experience. Still very good though.
Sarah Foss McKinney
Sushi Den has been one of our favorite date night dinner spots for the last 10 years. Tonight’s meal was definitely one for the books. Our server, John, was exceptional and the pacing of the meal was outstanding allowing us to enjoy each roll to the fullest as it was presented. With the Green Tea Tiramisu as dessert, I would dare say it was a perfect dining experience!
Elsa Johnson
Our group agreed that this was the best sushi we had ever had. Hands down the best in town. Thank you Alex for your recommendations and amazing service. It was a fantastic experience.
David Hebel
Always an incredible experience at Sushi Den/Izakaya. Hands down the best fish in town. Everything is on point any day of the week. I’ve been coming here for well over twenty years now and will keep coming back for many more.
Craig Staples
Had a really enjoyable dinner. We sat at the sushi bar and really enjoyed the staff. Our server was fantastic and was super helpful with recommendations. We cane in just after a delivery. They had tons of really fresh specials.
Greg Soneson
Terrific sushi and service. We loved the New Style Salmon sushi roll!
Christina Scalera
This is my go-to for bringing friends on short notice. If I have some advance warning, I'll take them next door to Izakaya. This is my favorite sushi restaurant anywhere-- it's even better than anywhere I've tried in LA or other big cities. They're also really good at taking care of you if you're gluten free, with an entire menu dedicated just to us.
Don Sarno
Absolutely incredible sushi selection with a delightful mix of modern and traditional. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. Great overall experience.
Kirsten Marie (Sunshine)
I am definitely not a sushi guru, but I loved the sushi here! The environment was upscale but cozy and the staff was very helpful. Definitely expensive because of the quality food you're receiving, but this is a great place to go if you're tired of the Melting Pot!
Kris Kasprzak
Probably the best sushi I ever had I deafly recommend going to this place the line can be long so get there early
Lauren Hamm
The best sushi I’ve ever had. The calamari was so tender. All the fish was fresh. Great selection of wine and saki. My go to any time I’m craving sushi!!
Cristina Penaranda
Amazing sushi! We ordered many dishes and Japanese fish was high quality and very very tasty. Highly recommend if you want high quality sushi! Will be back!
Ed Liu
Best sushi restaurant you can find in 1000 mile radius. The fish is unbelievably fresh for such a landlocked city like Denver. The prices are also very reasonable considering the quality of fish you get.
Paula Bezark
My only complaint about the sushi rolls was there was too much skin on the cucumbers which gave it a weird crunchy texture. Overall pretty good sushi but a little overpriced. The Belgian mousse cake was fantastic.
Russell Morgan (The Morgan8ter)
I've only been here once, it's a little far from my house. Thank goodness too or I would be going here weekly. My wife is Japanese, so I bought two huge bags of food to celebrate our 28th anniversary. When I picked up the food Sushi Den made it easy. They have a walk up area with at least four people there handing out orders. When you get there, just call them from your car, then they will text you to come up. The food was amazing.
David Bartley
All I can say is WOW! The food here is off the chart. I live on sushi and was highly impressed.
The VERY bad, they have a stand up cocktail table at the bar that they sat us at to dine. It was the most uncomfortable dining experience we've ever had.
Trevor C
Omakase - TO DIE FOR
Chef was incredible tonight - truly a knowledgeable yet down to earth individual who shows his personality with each dish, while catering to our preferences/allergies.
What a memorable experience - 10/10 would recommend and we WILL be back! Thank you Sushi Den team for the attention to detail for an especially exquisite experience.
Jeremy Vinson
The BEST sushi in Denver... Make a reservation because you'll need to, but absolutely the best sushi in town. Parking is scarce but there is valet. Go early, prepare to be amazed!
Icez Pandadang
It was the first time here at Sushi Den! We were waiting for 90 minutes, but it was worth waiting for!! We ordered Negitoro Roll (Fatty Tuna), Rainbow Roll, Tuna Firecracker Roll (Not spicy at all! If I can eat it, you can too!!), Japanese Tai (Red Snapper), Ikura, Hotate (Scallop), Hamachi (Yellowtail), and House Roll (Eel & Avocado). Everything was yummy and fresh!! Moreover, my friend said Hotate that we ordered reminded him of his time in Japan!!
David Derakhshanian
The best of the best! Wonderful food fantastic service.
Jennifer Wagner
Amazing experience! Came here with my
Husband while on vacation here on Colorado. Sushi was fresh and flavourful. Sat right at the bar with the chef who made our sushi right in front of us! Our server was very friendly and she made some great suggestions and was extremely accommodating. The restaurant was very clean and cosy. It got very busy really fast, but Didn’t need a reservation for two people. Came right at 5pm as the dinner service started and made it just before the huge rush! The experience definitely lived up to its reputation. Would highly recommend this place. Their fish is also shipped fresh from Japan daily.

I used to work there years ago with Toshi, Yasu & a few others when they were new! Now they have like 4 restaurants and a 5th one downtown Denver in a mall or something! Just goes to show how good they are! ♡😃 Yay! The staff is great there! (Setsuko, my mom's name too, we love you!) Even the side salad is awesome, and the free "dessert" after, so special!
Kate Kodess
We had the most delicious omakase style dinner. Our server Setsuko curated the tastiest dishes for us, while seamlessly transitioning between courses. The fish assortment and quality was beyond anything I've had in Denver. If you are not sure what to get go with omakase and you won't regret it!

My family and I visited Sushi Den while visiting from Phoenix. We had a reservation and thank goodness because the line was down the street before the restaurant was even open! This was when I realized that this was no ordinary sushi spot! I had heard great things but the experience surpassed my expectations. Our server did an excellent job explaining the different menus and gave us some excellent recommendations. We started with the big eye tuna sashimi, it was the freshest, cleanest tuna I've ever had. We also tried the crispy rice with spicy tuna which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. My daughter does not eat anything spicy and they were careful to plate her nigiri separately, which I found to be very thoughtful. We had aburi sockeye salmon that packed an incredible amount of flavor! I usually prefer straight forward fish and rice nigiri but I very much enjoyed it. We also tried a trout nigiri that was garnished with caviar and blue cheese, sounds strange but was very tasty! We also had uni, salmon, ama ebi and bluefin toro nigiri. The toro was like butter and the flavor/freshness is unmatched. For rolls, we had the house roll, rock n roll, and negitoro which were all exceptional as well. We finished our meal by sharing the green tea tiramisu which was perfect for a nice, light finish to an extraordinary meal. If you are a sushi "purist", this is the place for you. Make a reservation and prepare to be blown away by the service and food!

I wanted to love this place but both times there were major issues. The first time my wife’s order came but my order was lost, it came sometime later but then was completely wrong. The second try the food was good but the service was again a mess. I was wildly surprised given this establishments reputation. I’m not saying don’t go, I’m just saying it wasn’t for me.
Marian Sasso
Excellent food and service. Our server suggested the white salmon (sashimi), which I had, which was delicious. The lychee margarita was also very good. The crispy spicy salmon roll also stood out. Everything was excellent.
Johnathon America
I absolutely love Sushi DEN. I come here every time I’m in Denver and I’m never disappointed. All of the aburi sushi options are amazing, but the aburi salmon and toro really stood out to us. We also had the miso, sriracha shrimp, and pineapple upside down cake - they were all just as wonderful! Our server was very knowledgeable and did a great job making recommendations we enjoyed.
madison waldon
Everything we ordered was 10/10 amazing!!! The wagyu skewer appetizer, house special salmon roll and ribeye entree were favorites. Our server, Travis, was so delightful. Zero complaints, so worth every penny!
Rodrigo Lagos
Very well balanced appetizers.
The suggestions for Sake and cocktail were spot on. This is not a place for sushi purists, since their rolls are more geared towards the modern flair in taste.
The fish was tasty and clean on all Nigiri and Sashimi plates.
If you are ok with the pricetag you won't be disappointed
Tyler Kurtz
Overall the food was pretty good. Not as mind blowing as I had hoped, given the hype and the price. Service was average. However, the green tea tiramisu was the BEST dessert I've ever had. I plan on going back just for that.

This place is delicious and worth a visit. We went at 5pm on Superbowl Sunday and it was perfect. Once doors opened we got seated immediately and our waiter came over almost right away. Our waiter was great, he checked on us multiple times, answered our questions, and recommended items from the menu. We ordered a bunch of different sushi and it came out in waves, whether by design or not I don't know, but it was nice to have new things brought to us every 10 minutes or so. Staff was great at clearing our dishes as we went. The sushi itself is absolutely delicious, there wasn't a thing I didn't like. I ate only vegetarian sushi or the fried tuna sushi, so I can't speak to the raw sushi but my dinner mates said they loved it.The presentation of each platter was unique and beautiful. And it all tasted so great! I wish my stomach was bigger so I could have eaten more. I think the fried tuna sushi was my favorite but the classic cucumber sushi was fantastic too. This place is pricier but definitely worth it, at least for special occasions.

Since I moved to Denver, I’ve been coming to Sushi Den for 20+ years whenever I crave for sushi and good Japanese food. The sushi is excellent here and in my opinion, the best in Denver. Also, other Japanese dish on the menu are really good, too. You won’t be disappointed with whatever you order here. But FYI, their service is mediocre. Don’t forget to try their dessert menu. It’s like the ones you would get in Japan. Sweetness is just right and not overwhelming. It gets very busy during peak time at both lunch and dinner. To avoid a long wait, come early when it’s opened or after the peak.
Alexis Haynes
Amazing Sushi!!! And don't worry if you have others in your party who don't like Sushi the other food is off the charts! Would highly recommend. Would have given it seven Stars!!!!
Taylor Pickering
Pricy but a wonderful experience. Had to go to 3 different desks to get a gift card bit no big deal. A little confusing with the 2 different restaurants & entrances but the valets were very helpful pointing us in the right direction. Had a fun birthday celebration.
Pokey S
Best place in Colorado for sushi. Been multiple times never had a bad experience. The fish is on point, you pay for what you get.
Hala Ajmi
I don't live in the US. But, everytime I visit the Colorado, it's a must that I eat here at least once! The sushi varieties is amazing and the restaurant showcases highest quality and freshest items.
James Banner
Place is ok. Very just ok. It would be totally baffling see so many people cream over the food here but I realized I was reviewing through the lens of being from San Francisco where the sushi is sent by Jesus and Buddha and Mohammed and Abraham and Xenu.
This is totally a place your aunt from the Midwest would absolutely love.
The rolls are just ok. Everything was just ok.
Totally makes sense the citizens of Denver walk to their cars moist after a meal tho. I get it.
But seriously, it’s barely better than a 5 dollar Wednesday roll from the Kroger.
This place gives Denverites a feeling of sushi superiority and if they’re cool and happy spending the bread on this food, then more power to them. It’s totally ok that they can’t taste.
It’s ok that people like it. People like Arbys too.
Monica Newman
We went to Chef’s Table for our engagement dinner and it was absolutey incredible. The service, experience, and sushi are out of this world! Chef Yasu created a menu based off our likes and dislikes and taught us about each fish. Hands down, this was the best sushi experience and the best sushi in CO! We will be back!
Kirstie H
Best raw fish I’ve ever had! Service was incredible and the decor top notch. Very reasonable price for high quality fish flown in from around the world!
Jan Baer
Best Sushi Restaurant in Denver!! I have enjoyed Sushi Den since 1985 it is consistently good, fresh quality, excellent service and ambiance.
Cheers to Toshi, Yasu and to Takuma,! Thank you for being simply the BEST Sushi/Japanese dining experience in town! Cheers,
Jan Baer

You can't beat the quality! This restaurant has the best sushi I've ever had. The good atmosphere and nice staff was a bonus.
Kymberly Botelho
We miss eating out, but have loved treating ourselves to some delicious sushi now & then. Sushi Den has done such a great job with online orders and confirmation calls. Thanks for continuing to offer excellent service and delicious food!
Pharuewisa P.
this place is always super busy. need a reservation for sure. walk in it's fine but have to wait. the food is good. we got the bar and our server is Ryan. he provided a very great services.
Ron Burgundy
This place is always a memorable experience. I have a good friend that always orders the perfect sushi. Love going to Sushi Den, I need to get there more often.
Clint Young (WhereClintWent)
Exceptional experience. We sat at the Sushi Bar and accepted the recommendations from the staff and were very pleased with everything. Will be back when in Denver.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had! I wasn't too sure what to order since it was my first time going there, but luckily for me, the waiter (I believe Bo was his name) treated me great and provided even better recommendations.
The sushi comes out as it's prepared and each selection was tremendous! By myself, I spent over $100 trying out the different fish while indulging on a whiskey flight--pretty reasonable prices for Japanese whisky. Everything was great and it's going to be my top destination the next time I head back to the Denver area.
Also, if you ask about parking, you get a small slip that you scan in the parking deck as you're leaving to get the price reduced to $2 (for 3 hours). Parking is very close, pretty much just crossing the street, with plenty of spots. I also came in around 5PM on a Wednesday so it wasn't too busy.
Overall: highly recommended and 5 stars--to which I take seriously.
Song Park
Did not expect this fresh of fish in the middle of the country. I recommend the sushi combo, comes with a big salad and miso. Black snapper, salmon belly and kanpachi sashimi were also excellent. Chef did a great job of presentation and explaining how he prepared each fish. 5/5!
Lily Chang
Hands down, Sushi Den is my favorite local restaurant. The seafood tastes absolutely fresh, the sushi chefs do such a wonderful job with the dishes, and the staff are friendly. I highly, highly recommend this amazing Japanese restaurant for everything. All of their sushi and sashimi are exquisite. Some of my absolute favorites include: aburi hotate, ginger sashimi with akami tuna, and Osaka style aburi sockeye salmon (when it was offered). I highly, highly recommend Sushi Den Denver!!!
Ming-Ming S.
Overall good experience at this place. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that It is Over priced for what I got. Not every impressed by all the dishes. Scallop was fresh and sweet. Kobe beef was good and tender. Chocolate mousse cake was very moist and delicious. Canadian snow crab sushi was sweet and good. Uni was not as sweet as I expected. Oysters were just alright, one of them was full of sands. Fried ice cream was a no go. Tempuras were just okay. Spider roll was just okay, a little disappointed. Definitely had better fried soffit shell crab for a lower price... Worth coming once a while maybe? Probably people would have a different opinion if they really know what the place has to offer.
Rebecca Dorsett
Double date night! Omg amazing food, very crowded but fun, lovely atmosphere lobster roll was my favorite! Christina, our waitress was wonderful with so much information! Thank you so much for a wonderful night!
Logan Ibarra
This was the best sushi we have had in the states. The rice was so wonderfully flavored and the balance between rice and fish was perfect to me. The fish was fresh tasting with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. They also use crisp veggies that added great contrast. The service was pleasant and helpful. Both the hostess and server offered great suggestions. We arrived on a Friday around 9pm and were seated and served promptly. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Jay Finesilver
Great consistent meal with top service. An old Denver standby, never disappoints. Went there for a celebration. The freshest most interesting sushi and sashimi in Denver if not the US. We are spoiled, with food reason. Dont miss the dynamite starter too.
Brian
Legit AF! To put simply, if you want fresh fish, quality rice, and not have to worry if you will like the food then get over to Sushi Den. My experience supports the numerous other claims that it’s one of the best if not the best sushi available in Denver. And the service matched their high sushi standards. The volcano roll is highly recommended. The California roll is top notch. All of their nigiri is fantastic, especially the kaibashira and snow crab. The seaweed salad is a must! Great time and will save my pennies so I can come back.
Alex Bernauer
Pretty decent sushi and the price was surprisingly reasonable though it was happy hour and the happy hour prices were as much as you would pay elsewhere for non-happy hour. I doubt their regular prices would be justifiable for what you get unless you were super desperate for sushi (which I freely admit I often am). The place was packed right at opening - there was a line of people waiting. For a landlocked state, Sushi Den may be as good as it gets. That is why I fully take advantage of sushi when I travel to California or the Pacific Northwest!
Sofia De la Mora
Loved this sushi spot! It’s in the Platt Park neighborhood so it’s hip. The food was great. Loved the Wagyu beef roll and the Unagi roll with avocado and cucumber. My favorite was the miso black cod - must try. For dessert we got the warm chocolate cake which was very good! Gooey inside. Really recommend! Place is pricey.
Braxtin Watterson
Absolute favorite restaurant in Denver, nothing compares to the perfection of these chefs.
Maytal Abramson
This place definitely lives up to the hype. Sushi was fresh and delicious, highly recommend the crispy tuna special. There can be super long waits so you should get there about 1.5 hr before you want to eat and get your name on this list. Then you can walk down to Hazel and grab a drink while you wait!
Dylan Beazley
Loved the food and atmosphere. Great place for a special occasion. The food keeps getting better and better. The drinks are absolutely out of this world. Do skip this place, but you should really make reservations.
Ethan Cook
This was probably the best sushi experience of my life. There is a dizzying number of different types of fish, all fresh and delicious. Our waiter offered to pick for us since the selection is so large and we loved every pick. He knew every aspect of flavor for every fish and walked us through every bite. 10/10 will be going back
Pang Devy Firmansyah
My son and I went for Dinner at Sushi Den. It was the first time. We enjoyed our time and food. So far this is the best Sushi Restaurant in Denver. Sushi was so fresh, taste amazing. Service was good. We live in Fort Collins — we’ll be back. It’s worthy driving to Denver for it.
Chris Meier
ALWAYS fresh, the best sushi in Denver flown in daily, great cuisines, awesome staff that are always friendly, and great atmosphere. A must try if you have never been here. My top recommendation for Japanese cuisine and sushi!!!
Khoi Nguyen
I had this place on my list the whole time I came here to visit. Booked this spot 2 days in advance and the staff was accommodating in making adjustments. Stopped by here right around happy hour. Their sake and beer specials were so cheap. Strong hot sake for less than $6 steal! My friend and I ordered the wagyu NY strip steak, truffle carpaccio, toro from Croatia, bluefin Toro from Spain, aburi iidako from Japan, aburi Toro from Croatia and the spicy aburi salmon belly from Scotland. Sushi Den owns and operate their own fish distributor. Fish is delivered here fresh daily. Quality is not joke and I enjoyed every single of piece of fish that I ordered. The richness and preparation was executed perfectly. The fish was buttery and textures were on point. Loved how they have so many different types of fish from around the world. Price was yes you do pay a premium for quality here, but I didn't mind it. I really enjoyed my experience here as the service was amazing from the hostess to the chefs. Ambience and vibes here are on point. Highly recommend booking way in advance and they only allow reservations of +5 people. When ordering go off of the Chef's specials menu if you love raw sushi.
Lillia Lepak
I ended up ordering one of the rolls twice. I've never done that before. Good job. Also, customer service here is fantastic. Props to the entire team.
Heath Robinson
This place is amazing, the food is outstanding the service was great the atmosphere is really nice. I would highly recommend if you can swing the prices.
Outstanding food
Great service
Fresh fish, better than much of the sushi I had in Japan, even right at the Tokyo Fish Market. Apparently flown in every 24 hours.
A wonderful menu selection.
It is pretty pricey, but you're definitely getting what you're paying for and for the quality of the food it was still a heck of a value.
Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.
Mike M
Definitely the best sushi you're going to find in Denver...it's not cheap though. They bring in fish daily from Japan which was a big selling feature for me, the quality of the fish was outstanding..from the sashimi to the rolls.
If you're looking to have a fancy night out for high end sushi, this is the place. Arrive early as it's located in a small neighborhood area that doesn't have a ton of parking, especially if you're not in the mood to pay for valet.
Again...earlier is better here or you're in for a long wait to get a table.
James Douglas
Excellent evening with amazing friends! Best sushi in the state, flown in daily! Really cool story. Outstanding service and quality of food competes with the best! Highly recommend!
John Mulvey
I love sushi and Sushi Den occupies a spot at the top of my list. I had a relaxing evening with my family. Excellent service too.
Eugene F
Wow - this place is so overpriced it’s unbelievable! I decided to try the omakase and the first jalapeño dish was subpar. The second set was nigiri and they were pretty damn good but the second set was not that great. My friend got a spicy tuna roll - that was terrible!! Way too much rice and bland tuna! My biggest issue was the sushi chef - he was very nonchalant and could care less about serving me! Barely even said a word to me and when describing the sushi he just mumbled. Luckily the waitress was fantastic and super nice! Overall I would consider coming back but the price really left me sour. $80 for 3 omakase dishes - that’s just too much! Also they don’t take reservations which is interesting.... Lastly the reason I took one star away from this place was because the tamago was not done correct! It should not have layers! Should be one solid piece - whoever made it does not know how and they should be retrained!!
Alex Orchilles
Sushi Den is the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. I recently went to the famous fish market in Tokyo and most of the sushi I tried at Sushi Den in land locked Denver, Colorado, was even better than at the fish market.
The items we ordered were the Serrano Sashimi with Himachia, Bluefin Akami Zuke (Spain), Copper River Salmon, Kurodai, Rainbow Roll, New Style Salmon Roll, Spicy Aburia Toro (Croatia), Umeiro, Toro (Croatia), and Lobster Tempura. Everything was extremely tasty - some rolls with many different flavors that complimented one another, & other nigiri sushi that were simple and perfect.
My favorite items were definitely the Spicy Aburia Toro, the Toro, the Copper River Salmon, and the Serrano Sashimi.
All in all, it is a delicious 5 star restaurant with amazing selection, fair pricing for the quality you get, and the service was on point all around.
Go here now!
Lori Moreno
We had an early dinner here tonight. The waiter was great and very attentive. We had a few appetizers all of chef recommendations menu. The clam miso soup was very tasty. We also had the spicy edamame. I had a lobster tempura roll. My husband ordered nigiri of chef recommendation menu from Japan. Everything was great! I would strongly recommend this place.
Mark Bollinger
Love this place! I’ve never been disappointed.
Michelle Andrea Echeverri
Sushi den was one of the best sushi I've ever had. Their service is great and their food is so AMAZING, their fish is so fresh and delicious and just melts in your mouth. Their prices are not high considering the quality of their food.the atmosphere is also very relaxed and romantic.

A very popular sushi restaurant in Denver...known for having VERY fresh fish! They have a unique rotating menu of Japanese fish flown in daily that sets them apart from other sushi restaurants in the area. Very long wait times if you are in a party larger than 4 and reservations are not available day of. The miso black cod is AMAZING and must have if you are visiting this restaurant...

Regarding my reviews on Google Maps. Since Google doesn't provide any kind of guidelines on the expectations of what a 5 star rating requires or means that makes it difficult person to person to decipher what "good" or "great" is. Let alone that one persons 3 star rating is another's 5 star experience. That being said. I eat out a lot and at some pretty nice places. I've recently decided to review each place I eat and add pictures. I will comment on the things that are important to me for a restaurant or other establishment to have a high rating.
For me the following are important when rating a restaurant.
1) Cleanliness overall including the bathrooms
2) Service and staff behavior
3) Food and beverage quality
4) Prices (I do not put a lot of emphasis on price if all other aspects meet my expectations I'm willing to pay)
5) Atmosphere (this is obviously in the eye of the beholder)
I hope this makes my reviews more helpful and meaningful to all users .
Sushi Den has the best sushi I have ever had. I've been to Japan for extended periods and still think Sushi Den is the best. I hear they fly in the "special" fish daily from Tokyo and have a family connection purchasing the fish there. I have no way to confirm this, but all the fish served here seems extremely well taken care of. The preparation and presentation is also top notch. If you love sushi you have to go and try Sushi Den.
I have eaten here now probably more than 10 times. They have a number of seating options; sushi bar( my favorite Sushi Chef is Mr. Lee he makes a special Aji dish for me when available), regular tables, patio high-tops, tatami rooms, and my favorite "at the bar". The staff is well trained about the sushi menu etc.
If you have people in your party that don't care for sushi no worries, they have an excellent cooked Japanese food menu. The sukiyaki (cooked at the table) is very good. The cocktail menu is great as well with a team of professional bar tenders, Shane, Daniel, and Steven take great care of customers choosing to sit at the bar. They have a great selection of Saki and Japanese Whiskies.
The place is always clean. The Pearl Street location is a fun high energy area. It can be very busy and crowded. I usually try to go on Sunday night. I go early at 5:00pm right when they open and choose my seating option. Sometimes there is a line out the door right at five, but most people get seated right way at 5, but later there can be a wait. As I state in my preamble when a restaurant is this good I'm not price sensitive.
If there is one thing could ask the restaurant to improve is cell phone coverage. I eat alone a lot and use Uber for transportation. Adding wifi would be greatly appreciated as the AT&T cell coverage is horrible.
Bottom line; all around great place to eat sushi or not. Deserves all 5 stars for sure.
Nathaniel Moore
Second best sushi in Denver, after Sushi Sasa. This time I could see why. Sushi Den is always a must stop for out of town guests. The sushi is usually amazing. This visit however, the service and the sushi was less than ideal. Water glasses were not refilled. Edamame didn’t come - had to ask for it. Wasabi portion too small - had to ask for more. Soy sauce container emptied during our meal - had to ask for a refill. And to top it off some of the rolls - the sushi itself was just plain warmer than room temperature. That was weird. Hot raw sushi. It wasn’t bad but it was noticeable. Never had this happen before. Interestingly for a Thursday night we got a table immediately. I mean walk up to the hostess and we’ll take you right back for a four top - right now. This has never happened at dinner at Sushi Den. Interesting.

I absolutely love the food here! The place is on the pricey side, so definitely a place to save up for or reserve for special occasions, but definitely worth it. There are non-sushi options as well for the non-sushi lovers, but overall a great place. For desert, I'd recommend the fried green tea ice cream!
Andy C.
Pretty good for Colorado. For this level of dining, I wished they grated fresh wasabi though. Or even use a mix of frozen real wasabi which is much better than using just powder. They use nikiri for their nigirisushi which means that you are not supposed to use soy sauce. It's definitely a step higher than many fusion American sushi joints and a sign of quality.
The service was very nice, my waiter was very chill and hip. I hope he tailors his speech differently towards different age groups, I don't know if his jargon would appeal to the older crowd lol. Or maybe it will, haha who knows.
The amuse of tako su was a super nice touch. Even if it was just a tiny piece of octopus, it's great to see.
The daily special menu that seems like it's printed every day is awesome. I hope they bring in lots of interesting fish yearly. That said, the $30 chefs choice nigiri and hand roll special I got was a great deal.
The nigirisushi was good, some pieces were outstanding while others were just okay. They used a lot of rice for some pieces while other pieces were just right. I particularly liked their Portobello mushroom sushi, eggplant sushi, and the aburi spicy salmon belly.
The ones you can skip are the ebi, tamago, honmaguro akami(perhaps I just went on a bad day, but this tasted like yellow fin or just older/lower quality bluefin), salmon tartar with sturgeon caviar (it was highly recommended, but I thought the price didn't justify it- not enough caviar).
You absolutely must get the Portobello mushroom and eggplant though, so dang good. The aburi salmon was wonderful and the aburi scallops looked so good. Their kitchen menu seemed solid as well.
Overall I enjoyed my time here and felt very welcomed. I highly recommend stopping by!
Michael Hong
Fantastic experience post covid. Strictly reservation based with wait list. Only Izakaya Den is currently open for dine in, servicing Sushi Den menu. Great taste as always, attentive service, wonderful ambiance.
Laura Stewart
My family has gone here for years for special occasions and is always phenomenal. We got take out for Christmas Eve and it was the best. So fresh and amazing roll combinations. Eat food here.
Dani
This is the best sushi I've been to. The line is worth the wait but dress for the weather. The service was great, everything tasted great. They didn't bring everything all at once like most sushi places. Plates were coming and going and probably better for family-style eating. I was here for my birthday and had a group, it was great because we were sharing. For those who don't share, expect to watch others eat until yours comes, food arrives when made fresh. Not left on a counter until all the rolls are made.
They also have the catch of the day menu. So many fish that's not seen in most other sushi restaurants. Ordering a couple off there is worth it. It was the freshest I've tasted. Wow!

Best sushi in Denver. Very busy, so get a reservation (5 or more) or get there after the dinner rush. There is valet parking which helps, as well as a garage down the street (that's not well marked for a first timer so Google it) The restaurant is huge and the decor was warm and inviting. The sashimi was amazing. The fatty tuna melts in your mouth. Our favorite rolls are The Red Dragon and a salmon one... Oh and it's more authentic for sushi, they even bring warm towels for your hands before your meal, but they're very nice and will accommodate, for example they're not snobby about bringing spoons out for your miso soup if you ask.
David Gautschi
I got a recommendation to try Sushi Den while visiting the area, and after reading the raving reviews I decided to check it out. I’ve spent a fair amount of time traveling and love sushi so I was pretty excited to try “the best in Denver”. Unfortunately I was kind of disappointed. There were four separate menus front and back, three for food and it made trying to find the right menu for ordering amongst the group much more convoluted than necessary - doubly so since we only got one of each for the table. The restaurants special rolls are very modern with lots of ingredients, and to be honest as a result were pretty bland. Ala carte there was a decent selection “flown in daily”, and it was pretty fresh and tasty. However most of it was extremely overpriced. Easily double the cost of any good sushi place I’ve visited anywhere outside of Japan or NYC. Service was professional but very slow. The drink menu had lots and lots of choices for Sake and Wine but I didn’t see anything that stood out and I didn’t see any cocktails. All in all I got the impression that this place would make a great date spot to impress someone just by price and environment alone - but it’s very out of the way and parking is only on neighborhood streets nearby. All in all it was pretty good with some glaring flaws. 3/5
Jacob Gradén
Among the best sushi I have ever tasted; and I have plenty of sushi experience. Menu has very good mix of mild/well-known and more exotic/adventurous choices; staff are excellent, good ambience, free valet parking - in short, absolutely excellent. By no means cheap, but very high value for money.
Adam Livingston
I like Sushi Den a lot. The ambience is exceptional, and the menu is ambitious. That being said, my meal there was the third Sushi dinner I had had in 3 weeks. Unfortunately, it was also the least inspired.
When we got there the line was down the block, and fortunately we had a reservation .While the service was good, it's never a cheap meal, and I felt like the food seemed like it was prepared for the masses (which invariably it was).
I will always happily eat here, but I don't know that it stands as the high water mark for sushi in Denver than it once was.
S Birks
The best sushi you’ll find in Colorado!
Tatyana Malinina
Expensive but worth the hype (and the wait, which honestly wasn't long enough once we found Hazel next door and their delicious cocktails). The sushi was excellent, the tempura was yummy, the sake - amazing! We ordered off of the catch of the day menu.
Michael T
This is the best sushi not on a coast. I don't even know what to say, hard to find words to describe it. It's just so very good. Go here, eat something, then smile.
Steve Wellmann
There are not enough superlatives to describe this place. Great vibe, amazing decor and ambiance. Or server (Tee?) did a great job explaining the concept, the menu and recommended an awesome Sake. I travel all over the US and make a point to try different Sushi restaurants around the country and thus would be in my top 5 fur sure.
Tried a lot of fish I've never seen on a menu before and it was all delicious and incredibly fresh as you'd expect with the fish flown in daily from Japan.
If you're a sushi lover, this is a must visit when in the Denver area. Recommend reservations.
Andrea
Came here for my 30th birthday dinner and it was absolutely fabulous! Some of the freshest sushi I’ve ever had! Will be coming back again as often as I can!
Lucian Coman
This is the kind of place you wish you would find. The kind of place that serves very good food, even though it might not be very cheap. I think the prices are decent, considering the quality of the sushi they serve. The only bad thing about this place is that because it's so good it's too busy, there is always a line and even inside all the tables are always full. But even if it is too busy, I will definitely go there again, more than once!
John C
The decoration is very beautiful and the service is very good, but this is known as the best sushi restaurant in Denver. I don’t agree with it. This can only be a good place for a date. The food is not very special, and the price of the meal is still acceptable. of
Ivelis Becker
The best experience that I have had in my life in a Japanese Restaurant. We got the Chef's Experience. Man, a whole personalized service. They even remember why we came there. And, have I mentioned the food? Wow! My husband didn't stop to make "hmm" and "Wow's!" And I have never found so many feelings in a seafood bite. I hope to come back and do this again. The Chef even have conversations with you and the waiter was very nice too! I highly recommend this place. If you have a partner/spouse, this is your chance!
Antonios Karagiannis
One of the best sushi I've ever had. Fresh, tasty and beautifully put together.
Brianna Emerick
We absolutely love this place and always make a point of coming here at least once a year. Hands down the best sushi in Denver for quality, flavor, and freshness - part of what has made this place an institution for 30 years. The service is always excellent, and they have a great bar and sake selection. Additionnaly they offer sushi making classes (which was a blast) and do both special and private events. Great sushi, highly HIGHLY recommend!
Tiny Zapfe
Everything we tried was delicious and our server was super friendly. The bar stools on the patio were not comfortable at all, but that is my only complaint. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for decent sushi in Denver. My favorite was the Tuna Firecracker roll!

As always a delightful evening with amazing Sushi and service. 🙏😊👍 …

Walter selected all of our sushi. He did a fantástic job. Great for team dining
Kwang Viboonviriyawong
The best sushi in CO and great service. A bit pricey but you get what you pay. Try Lyncee sorbet for dessert!
Leia Anneliese
Fantastic sushi. The New Zealand King Salmon they offered as a special was particularly lovely. I also got a salad and grilled vegetables, both of which were fantastic. Great eats, great service and my friend and I especially enjoyed eating at the outside bar.
Roger Thomson
The annual Sushi Den rooftop party should NOT be missed. All you can eat Japanese street food with many choices of liquid libations. And the sunset!!!
Bob Dittman
I have been eating at Sushi Den for many years and the quality never fails. Great care is always taken on the cuts and the flavor and freshness for not being right by the water is top notch. Thank you for being you and remaining the #1 for sushi in my book Sushi Den.
Natalie S
I’ve been dining at sushi den for years, but we had the best experience last night thanks to our server, John. Everything he recommended was delicious, and his knowledge of the menu was impressive. The three layer salmon, toro, miso cod, and crispy tuna are must gets!
Ayse Gurpinar
The most important thing for a restaurant to be successful is not only the quality of food but also the consistency of service. Thank God, they started to pull it together after the Covid mess. Nowadays, they are doing much better and on their way to be the top Sushi Restaurant in Denver, again. Sushi Den's consistency was really messed up during Covid. We stopped ordering for a long while. I guess they are still strugling to get back their experienced staff. But we had dinner last night, 6/9/22, & it was very good. Im hopefull that the Japanese discipline & pride for excellency will win again & put Sushi Den on the top of the list.
Shari Morgan
AMAZING! I had dinner here and was blown away by how delicious and impressive the food was. Large selection of sake is available, as well as wine, and Japanese whiskey. Our meal had left me feeling in an amazing mood. Our server was attentive and polite. Overall I've of the best dining experiences I've had. I will caution that it does get busy and I believe this is testament to the amazing job they do. You will not be disappointed.
Rodrigo Lopez
Fresh sushi imported from all over the world! The pieces are cut correctly, well made rice, and great side dishes. See the pictures below
Julia Kim Kane
My husband and I have been treating ourselves with the freshest fish in town for over 30 years. We're never disappointed. I did stop going for awhile bc of the wait but now they take res now! Oh yay.
Mike T
Best sushi I've had in Colorado! Excellent vegan and vegetarian options! The eggplant and mushroom sushi were amazing! The tofu is maybe the best I've ever had! I will definitely be coming back as soon as possible! Reservations only for groups of 5 to 10, so get there around 5 pm on Saturday for no waits.
DR WILSON
The best sushi spot on the entire Denver area, they even have Toro, sometimes a couple varieties. The seared miso black cod appetizer is fantastic too!
Denise Polizelli
Upscale sushi and Japanese food. Good service, good food. I heard that one brother lives here and the other in Japan, where he picks and ships the fish personally to their restaurant in Denver. Doesn't get much better than that. Great cocktails.
Eduardo Padron
High quality sushi. Incredibly good service. We showed up with a group of 8 and they went out of their way to accommodate us.
Lysa Price
Truly excellent. From the house salad to the dessert. Incredibly fresh and flavorful!
J F
Love everyone at Sushi Den and the fish is always fresh. The chef's table is always amazing when we do it.
Yxtchel Hernandez
Amazing experience. Some of the best sushi in Denver. Highly recommend reservations, super long line, worth the wait.
Lindsey Eller
100% overrated! If you like waiting in line and overpaying for subpar sushi this place is for you. It used to be 5 star pre-covid, but the specialty rolls are boring and all the sushi isn't as fresh as it used to be. This place envees to be as boujee as it appears to be.
Rawan Bardini
Best sushi I have ever had! Enough said. Hands down the best in town. I will be comparing everything to it going forward. Let the staff guide you through the amazing options and variety flown in daily. Waygu beef is to die for, blue eye tuna, best mackerel I have ever tasted before, red snapper from Greece...everything was phenomenal!
Nic Arteaga
Just look at the reviews and you can tell this place is awesome. It met and exceeded my expectations. Best sushi I have ever had. I was with a group and one guy “didn’t like sushi”. He just never had good sushi before, he likes it now. I never heard of Kobe beef rolls, but they were so good. And the scallops were probably the best scallops I’ve ever had. The waiter was prompt and courteous. Over all excellent experience. I’m from out of town, but if I come back to Denver, I will definitely come visit again. Don’t forget to make a reservation - this place isn’t that big and gets crowded.
humberto dominguez
One of the best sushi places I have ever had... everything was so fresh!! Great flavor, perfect service
CatherineAnne O
We went for my MIL 70th birthday. My FIL said sushi was lost on him... until we ate at sushi den!! Wonderful flavor and excellent service
Damacio Ulibarri
Possibly the best sushi place I’ve ever been to. The last time I was here was in 2002 and it did not disappoint. Why this place isn’t more popular is beyond me.
TJ Matteo
In a word, Amazing!!! If you like whisky give their Japanese whisky flight a try. They are very smooth with delightful flavors.
Patrick Kagan
If you like sushi this is probably one of the best restaurants in Denver.
Tim Sayler
One of two of the best sushi spots in Denver! Check out their summer rooftop party, and try some sushi from chefs flown in from Japan! It'll be one of the best summer nights you have
Kevin Hinton
Maybe I’m biased since I’m coming from LA where sushi is much better but this place is severely overrated. The prices are quite high considering the quality. $75 for a few pcs of average sushi wasn’t what I was hoping for... very disappointed after seeing a 4.7 review.
Travis Mann
Absolutely amazing sushi experience. Great selection of rare fish. Great service a d atmosphere as well
Mike Metz
There are many sushi experts that reviewed this place and said it's incredible, so I had to check it out. I'm the opposite of an expert, but I can testify it's amazing! I sat at the bar and asked one of the chefs to surprise me with some variety, and they made great choices. Fast service, good drinks as well!
Emma Choi
One of the most authentic Japanese reetaurant I’ve been at Denver. Food wasnt salty unlike other asian cuisine in town. Waiter was very friendly and food came out quick! Worth 20 min wait
Sal Quintana
Over the years this was my go to sushi place but I was very disappointed in my last visit to the den. Over priced for mediocre food. The only thing that this place has going for it now is atmosphere but I can’t eat that so I probably won’t be returning.
Jenni Jane
Sat at the sushi bar, we needed to be fast and they delivered! Amazing sushi, fresh, and great array of choices. My husband is picky and they even made a special order just for him! Will be back so we can enjoy ourselves next time!
Rachael Pitrone
Love Sushi Den! Considered the best sushi in Denver by many and I have to agree! On weeknights, it's easier to get a table without to much of a wait, but weekends are packed! Put your name in and go have a coffee across the street at Stella's while you wait!
My absolute favorite is the Crispy Bincho Roll, pictured below.
Cassie Stone
Holy moly. If you love sushi, you need to come eat at Sushi Den! So glad we discovered this neat place. Great atmosphere, cool location, great service. You will not be disappointed!
Jacqueline
Sry not a great pic, but you get the idea - they are open for take out during covid and great about controlling traffic flow at the door
Deluxe sushi platter - the hamachi was so good! The rest of the combo didnt disappoint either. Loved the miso soup (there are mushrooms in it yum) and the ginger salad dressing was great
Negitoro handroll - SO GOOD
Tonkotsu Ramen - great but i think it wouldve been much better eating it hot at the restaurant. What can ya do :/
The pork belly was fatty and tender, broth and noodles were satisfying. Egg was slightly undercooked.
Would definitely come back here.
Julia Blake
This is where special occasions happen like date night or when family comes to visit. Best, freshest sushi in Denver hands down!
Jennifer Sandefur
This was the best sushi I've ever had, especially the toro. I highly recommend this place to everyone. The staff was very friendly and super helpful when asking for recommendations.
Joshua Rubin
Really incredible experience. Knowledgeable staff. Great pacing. Absolutely love Sushi Den.
Somm Lady's Kitchen
Absolutely swooning that this magical place continues to go strong and is still just as amazing as it always has been🖤 Travis is the best and made my birthday dinner exceptional on top of the delicious and perfectly prepared food🖤
Kong
the best sushi spot in denver, but pricey but worth every bite!
MK LoPiccolo
Great sushi take out in Denver! Fresh, well packaged and with a good selection of sake!
Pat Tho
I didn't know what I didn't know about sushi. Now I know. Great food.
Mike Mac
My wife and I love coming here and have been coming for some years, now. Just a few blocks from our home. Wonderful staff!
7up Drinker
We have always loved the Sushi and atmosphere here.
We'll get a couple of cocktails, a flight of cold sake, a carafe of hot sake, at least one appetizer, and 3-4 sushi rolls.
Our average check is $150.00 for two.
We visited last night and, despite the weather being pretty bad/snowing all day, the Den was still packed!
They still got us right in at our reservation time; no waiting.
Tonight was roughly $100 per person though. If you like great sushi, there is no better place in Denver.
Steven Shapiro
There wasn’t anything wrong with our food, maybe it was not as good because we did takeout. Everyone raves that this is the best sushi in Denver but I can’t imagine even at its best it can take on matsuhisa or the likes. Excited to go back and sit down to try it because everyone can’t be wrong about it being great and all the other restaurants in the family are delicious.
Faye Phillips Luther
I ordered take out sushi for a small group of 6-8 people from Sushi Den and it was fabulous! The sushi was marvelous, the service was fantastic, and the people were professional, friendly, helpful, and amazing. It was a great experience from the start. This is the place to go! - I know I'll be back! :)
Sammy Denver
Has to be one of the best sushi restaurants in America. Toshi does an impeccable job.
Jared Richmond
Very good food had many rolls and nigiri along with short rib appetizer
pavlini41
Well. I liked the freshness of fish hands down. Plus for that. They are 50% more expensive than other sushi restaurants i have been to in Denver. I liked the service there as well, no problems with that. The thing that makes me give it a 4 instead of a 5 star review is that the specialty rolls like philly were are the same as any other sushi place i have been at. Yes they are fresh. Yes the fish is pretty good there but its not a lot of it and the rolls are as small as lets say all you can it menu of Joy Sushi. So i dont see why it would cost twice as much. Other than that i would say they are one of the best places for sushi i Denver CO, hands down.
Nathan Jantzen
Phenomenal sushi! The salmon was incredible. 10/10 would recommend
Erica Martinez
The food was AMAZING! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, our server made the best recommendations! I normally don't care for raw fish, but this was the most delicious meal I've EVER had.
DEFINITELY make a reservation, attire was both casual and semi formal, a MUST TRY for any local or tourist
Natalie Dull
We had such an great experience last night! Sushi Den has always been one of my favorites but this experience was special because of our server Alexis, she is amazing! She had great recommendations! I fell in love with new dishes I never would normally ordered! I can’t wait to go back!
Tracee Dahlke
Most amazing sushi I have ever had! A must go!
Zachary Margolin
First time for this foodie at this establishment and damn! The sushi was out of this world, the signature rolls are exquisite and the wagyu beef appetizer was mouthwatering and tender! I shared the plum hot sake and it was very delicious!!! Highly recommend.!
Jeremy Lesser
I’m a man who loves sushi. I’m also a man who loves to travel. With this in mind, I’ve had sushi in countless major cities, and I was blown away by the sushi here. It’s easily in my top 5 of restaurants I’ve been to.
Both rolls I had were incredibly delicious and fresh, which is quite impressive given the landlocked nature of the state. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. You won’t regret it. Also the neighborhood it’s in is awesome and my girlfriend and I spent about 45 minutes walking around after dinner enjoying the beautiful Denver air on this summer night.
Travis Ten Brink
Coming from FL I didn’t think a land-locked state like Colorado could ever deliver the best sushi I’ve ever had. I swear to everything that is hold I’ve had some great sushi in my life but Sushi Den tops it all! Highly recommend!
Crystal Kingsbury
The sushi here is amazing! Seriously mouth watering. Even something as simple as a California roll tastes great and melts in your mouth. A little pricey but worth it!
Anna Vandergeest
Everything from service to food and drinks was amazing ! Christina was so helpful and everything she recommended was a 10/10. Worth every penny !
Aaron M
We had the waiter select our menu and enjoyed 7 or 8 courses or incredible sushi and desert, great value for the high quality. Definitely will be back!
Barry Treahy
Introduced a colleague to Izakaya Den and loved it!
Great pair of restaurants, can't go wrong!
A N
I had a great experience here. Their daily special for the sushi is a hit! My server was spectacular. I will definitely be back. Thank you for having us.
Chris Cook
Simply the best sushi in the nation. Cannot recommend enough. Bravo.
Fernando Mier
Top 10 sushi in the US
Absolutely amazing. Some of the best quality of sushi in the US. The ambience and service are perfect. The place is packed all week so I recommend getting there early. There is a wide variety of Sakes and cocktails too. However the quality of the sushi, sashimi, makis hand rolls and entres is hands down one of the best places in the US. I've been to places in Seattle, New York, LA and Sushi Den is one of the best! The specials vary depending on the day or season. If you are in Denver this place is a must.
Kate Nichole
Best Sushi I've ever had. The layout of the restaurant is phenomenal. A great experience and vibe!
charlie yielding
One my favorite shushi places. The staff is well trained and friendly. I make sure to go whenever I am in Denver.
Maddie
Service is great, the atmosphere is totally hip and the prices reflect it. I visited for a special occasion but I didn't find the sushi to be that much better than smaller local options. I probably won't make the trek to Denver for this spot again.
Eboni
This is the BEST sushi outside of Toyko!! The atmosphere is great, the bartenders were exceptional, and the food was amazing! I'd recommend Sushi Den to anyone traveling to Denver!
Stephanie Stone
I like this place, but I think it is so over-hyped and over priced! Everyone raves about the quality here, but you can find the same quality for less at other places in Denver.
Edgar Warf
Amazing dining experience! Our server, Tony, was an expert and the food was the best we have eaten. Fresh fish flown in daily from Japanese markets and a venue that has stunning architecture paired with masterfully-prepared creations & an abundant sake selection.
Excellent service! Excellent sushi and sashimi! Excellent fine dining! We cannot say enough good things about it. Its a wonderful experience that we'll never forget.
Donald Green
When you have the ability to order fish flown in within 24 hours from Japan, there's no questioning the quality you can expect. Do yourself a favor: eat here. Now.
Michael Jordan
Can’t be beat! I think it’s the best sushi in Denver for the quality and price. It was so good my friends visiting wanted to go back two nights in a row.
Seth Pacheco
This is a great place to get sushi, the fatty tuna is out standing! I also tried the Tsukiyaki which was also FAR above average. Service was great even though they were slammed. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great Sushi or traditional japanese food.
Paddy McCarthy
I have been visiting the Sushi Den since 1993, and it continues to maintain its quality and reputation as one of the very best Sushi restaurants. My recent visit confirmed excellent food, service, and atmosphere can be found here. Keep up the great work.
Mia Mia
Really impressed with the quality of the fish especially from the daily catch menu. Everything was pretty good including the chirashi and tempura.
khalid yousif
The sushi is as good as any of the top class restaurants around the nation. The service and location/decor are really good as well.
Ethan Byrne
I attended this restaurant seeking a new experience in life. I have dined on the French Riviera, aboard the finest yachts of Monaco, and among celebrity chefs in Hollywood and Aspen. With these high standards in mind, I ventured daringly into the warm embrace of the staff of Bonefish Grill. The extensive menu proved challenging to pronounce (I am curbed with a debilitating case of dyslexia) however the helpful waitstaff assisted me with the impressive selection of fresh, never frozen fish products. I eventually settled on a salmon dish with an accoutrement of asparagus and mashed potatoes. A delightfully surprised smile developed across my weary face (I have been hiking the high Alps for weeks) as I tasted the intricate and fulfilling flavors assembled by the professional chefs behind the curtain. With tears in my eyes and fish in my belly, I departed for the evening, having discovered an absolute new favorite dining experience. However they lost a star because India the hostess would not accommodate my request for a booth.
Hillary Allen
Absolutely wonderful!! I've never seen barracuda as an offering and it is delicious! Freshest fish I've ever had. Great sake selection. The line to get in was long but we were seated fairly quickly.
dave files
Love the food! Always 1st rate!
Oscar Vital
Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Denver. I was very impressed with the quality of fish
Jose Aguilar
Good atmosphere, great food and the Sushi Chefs are super friendly every time.
太田公平
Fashionable and good atmosphere. The seasoning that is not too Americanized is also happy for the Japanese.
Samuel Park
fresh fish. really good sushi. steak was okay here, but i recommend the sushi more than anything. kobe beef roll is also very good
Jesse Jacoby
Sister restaurant to Izakaya Den with a shared kitchen between the two restaurants. Sushi Den is the original restaurant and was there first. Both restaurants serve the same menu currently and check-in for either restaurant is through the Izakaya Den door. Neither restaurant takes reservations; however they are pretty efficient at seating you after checking in. They will text you when your table is ready, so you have the ability to roam the shops on Pearl Street while you wait for your table. The food is always excellent and their sushi is very fresh. This place is a Denver institution and is highly recommended.
Micaela Gouger
Hands down best sushi in town! So fresh and delicious the flavors were incredible! Great atmosphere for a date night or fun night out! Highly recommend
光の空拳
I have eaten here for 20 years and have eaten top sushi in Manhattan, Denver, San Francisco, Hawaii and all over Japan and this is place is one of the best. It is so delicious that I take friends from Japan and clients here. Is it is not cheap; but is is never cheap to eat good sushi. Why I like paying a little more and coming here is because even at sushi bars in Japan and other expensive "top spots" in Denver, I have had nigiri that didn't taste right. Every time I at Sushi Den the scale is from "pretty good" to "absolutely incredible." It is worth the money to get that consistency and quality of flavor.
Lily Hoang-Zhu
Alwayd a good meal & attentive service at any Sushi Den owned location! This restaurant has a more upscale & older vibe to it than the other counterparts (Izakaya Den, Temaki Den, & OTOTO are more laidback.) This is great for larger groups, business & family gatherings. It can get VERY busy at peak meal times so come early or reserve if you can.
The menu is more reserved & smaller since COVID, but the quality of food is just as good as ever! Would highly recommend skipping any sushi that is fancy/Americanized like you’re used to (tempura, cream cheese, the works) & really try to enjoy the offerings of fish as is! You can really taste the quality of fish here, zero iron-taste fishiness. I’d recommend tackling ootoro sashimi/nigiri (go for anything that is seared also!)
Oh, & the salmon or hamachi kama is a must!
C K
Best sushi in Colorado and best sushi I've had in the country honestly. They always have specials worth trying but their standard sushi menu is so good too. Service is always exceptional.
Laura N
Loved this restaurant. Travis was our waiter and he was so great with fully explaining the menu and giving great recommendations. The fish was so fresh and delicious. They even brought out ice cream for my boyfriend’s birthday. Can’t wait to come back!
zachary slott
A Denver staple, and some of the best sushi I've had and I've been to Japan for cripes sakes!
Asuna “Anime-Fantasy-Midieval” Ellodie
BEST sushi restaurant I've ever been to in Colorady by far. Fresh and well worth the cost. The caviar roll and new Zealand king salmon rolls were my favorite; I'm always trying to find new sushi spots, and I have found my new favorite spot for my boyfriend and to go out for sushi for our anniversary. Absolutely delicious!
Brandon Danko
Best sushi in my LIFE! I have lived I. Tokyo and London and San Francisco and this place is beyond memorable! A must stop place
Matthew Luk
Excellent fish as expected, and somehow the miso eggplant managed to shine just as bright. Solid COVID menu and procedures.
Mark Tucker
Absolutely wonderful and our server Erich was luxurious. The food was out of this world:)
George Bond
We love this place and the Great service. Fresh Sushi who would've thought in Denver. Whenever we are in town at least one meal is here.
Matt Kyler
Fantastic atmosphere, food, and service. Our server Toshimi made several recommendations and all of them were amazing. One of the best meals we've had anywhere in the world.
何雨馨
I‘ll be sad if anyone went there but didn't try their banana cream pie. it has just right amount of sugar, with melted black chocolate, fresh whipped cream(tastes like heavy cream, not sure),and the pie base is very unique, its like you compress a piece of pastry together. besides the fish is great, shrimp is okay, service is pretty nice. just dont order too much. i have ordered too much because greedy me want to try too many different flavores and the delicacy ends up became suffering.
Maxwell Saal
It kind of goes without saying, but Sushi Den is absolutely exceptional. The thing about sushi is that, at the end of the day, it's really all about the fish. Of course you can count on Sushi Den to hold themselves to an exceptional standard in that regard. Which, again- should come as no surprise.
What is something of a surprise is their ability to innovate. Sushi is a deeply traditional cuisine and one where many chefs, even the highest tier of world class chefs, scoff at the idea of experimenting. I have to say I've been pretty impressed with their New Style and "aburi" (seared) offerings, and they seem exceptionally well thought out. Don't miss them.
The caveat to Sushi Den's excellence is that no expense or effort is spared to make this the world class place that it is. If you're going here, odds are good expense is not foremost on your mind. Nevertheless the downside is that there is a degree of pretentiousness present that isn't when you go to an excellent sushi bar in Japan proper or a rare few this side of the Pacific. But this is pretty obvious and unavoidable, all considered.
In any event, Sushi Den is exceptional and doubtless the best you can get in hundreds of miles around. Sushi lovers and novices alike will find it well worth the visit.
Amber Bernard
The spicy tuna on crispy rice was amazing. also has the wasabi sashimi and the grilled salmon sushi. Great sushi, one of the best places I've ever had. will definitely be back.
Grace Yu Art Studio
Amazing sushi and saki with professional service...worth for an hour wait. Interior layout is a little tied tho
Kristin Hargrove
The atmosphere and decor is great. I loved all the sushi we ordered except the new Salmon roll. We got pretty basic rolls and they were all good. The Wagyu beef appetizer was great too.
Kevin Griffey
Hands down the best sushi I've had in any form. If you want the best, look no further--not just in Denver but places I've been in coastal and island restaurants, including international It is always worth the wait. The saki selections are incredible.
Ben Melton
Best sushi of my life. Tastes, textures, ambiance, all perfect in every way. One of my favorite parts was the shocked exuberanceof the guy sitting next to us. Helped remind me that it was really special. I'd definitely go as far as 7 stars on this one.
Blakely Johnson
My friend and I decided to try out Sushi Den after reading other reviews. I didn’t realize how pricey it is, so we opted to split a couple of items. We got yellowtail sashimi and a spicy tuna dish served on top of fried white rice. Both were excellent. If we hadn’t been trying to save money, I definitely would have gotten more based on what we did have.
Mickey Yorke
I was told this was the best quality sushi you could get in Colorado and it was not a lie. It was incredibly delicious from the miso soup to the sea urchin. Highly recommend the fatty tuna. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the staff were excellent. They didn't distract from the experience but still met every need. We didn't have to wait to be seated and the prices were very fair. Bring a mask! They still require it, even with a vaccination.
John Reikes
I lived in Studio City for a while, right by Sushi Row. The sushi at those restaurants is typically regarded as being as good as anything you can get without going to Japan. The food at Sushi Den is as good as the best sushi restaurants there and the ambiance is much better (the service too). This is a solid 5-star.
Michael Ko
Definitely the best sushi in Denver but it is pricy relative to other places in Denver. But worth it. Still it's quality is comparable to other fairly high end places around the coasts (I'm comparing to Hawaii, California, NYC, and Vancouver). Come early. Got here at 4:30 and still waiting 30 min to get seated.
Aviel roberto Abitbul
Besides the fact that the food was AMAZING! The service was perfect from entrance to check. Incredibly knowledgeable, covering a huge menu! Emma waited on us at the bar. Beautiful, so pleasant & informative. Collin with great convo in between. We travel for a living, eating out consistently, lately unimpressed. Sushi Den now top of our list of restaurants to visit again. Wow wow. So worth the trip!
Louise King
OMG!!! Soooo yummy, the atmosphere and service is great!! I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu
Paul Burke
Great Sushi! one star ding for giving me a 45min wait time ended up being 2hrs
Don Bohn
One of the best places I’ve eaten at and I know I sound like a jerk but I’ve done a fair amount of traveling. My wife and I went for our anniversary last night and we’re both blown away by how good it was. I wish I would’ve also gotten my servers name because he was checking on us often and super nice/helpful. I haven’t been able to get to Japan yet but I’m even more eager to go now that I’ve eaten here to see how it compares. I usually don’t like spending money on a meal as I don’t think it’s typically worth it but I certainly will here again before we move. 10/10.
Jared Yarnell
Best sushi in Denver flies in fish from Japan and all over the world. Try the jalapeno sashimi appetizer. Best thing on the menu
Sean Ooi
The best sushi place in Denver.
Their Toro nigiri and tuna tartare handroll are a must try.
Mariah Cain
Really great experience
I highly recommend the pineapple upside down cake !
Off the charts good
Erica
Everything was wonderful from the atmosphere to the service to the food! Best meal of our weeklong trip. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Amber White
Flavorful sushi that tastes very fresh, and excellent waiting staff! Dessert was decadent too, mochi was to die for. Literally.
Ana Paula Maluf
Superb!
Second time here!!!!
Everything was amazing!
Black cod is fantastic!
Tony W
Just outstanding quality and taste. Truth be told, it's not cheap at all, so you can't expect to get out of there for under $100 for a couple with drinks. But, everything is just outstanding. The sushi, the apps, the drinks, everything is top notch.
Phil Witek
This place is the best. Don't go anywhere else. Only come here if you want all those other places to be disappointing from now on. This is the go to spot in Denver, so do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
Oh, it is expensive, so know that up front.
VikingDeadShot
Service is great. Quality of sushi is one of the best I’ve had. They are very catering to any and all of your needs. Make sure you arrive a bit before opening and you’ll have no problem finding a table.
Alex Curtis
Although expensive, everything we ordered was spectacular, and well worth the money. One of my favorite sushi places in Colorado.
Andrew Hall
The food was great and Yohan was awesome. Really loved the atmosphere. If you like sake, give the Suigei a try! Definitely will be back.
Michael Argersinger
Fresh and creative sushi! A Denver staple that flies in Japanese fish daily. Pricey but worth it.
David Berger
This place has the best sushi in Denver and some of the best sushi I've had anywhere in the world.
Amazing service and very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
The decor and ambience is so stylish.
And their selection of sake is an adventure in itself, and full of appealing choices for both beginners and connoisseurs.
Andrew Scoville
The Japanese fish menu is amazing! Tried a few new things. Fun experience.
D Nix
We live in the Springs but often will stop in when in Denver ! Once the doors opened, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time (25th or 30th in line). We were greeted and even on our way to our seats welcomed by the staff. Our server was prompt and friendly. As *always* the food was excellent! Tea and soup for starters great as always.. Two of us are true sushi fans, so we had a wide variety of their offerings., The other two not so much for sushi, but their chicken based means were excellent as well. Since this is one of the few places we will eat sushi at, we stuffed ourselves leaving no room for dessert... maybe some moderation next time? And of course I continue to enjoy warm saki with the meal ! We have been coming here since 2010 or so (introduced by our friend Mike Bosak) .
miss kriss
The best sushi I've ever had. I definitely recommend the California rolls. The rice is amazing. The flavor was perfectly balanced. The smoked salmon nigiri was also amazing. Absolutely worth it. Order was ready as scheduled for pick up and the staff is super nice and helpful. Great food!!!
Angela Beazley
The food, ambiance, and service are top tier. Absolutely loved my experience and plotting more special occasions to justify my return ASAP!
B Olan
Amazing service and food. Can't wait to come back.
Victor L
One of the best sushi establishments in Colorado! I love the quality of the food here, fish is always fresh and flown in straight from Japan. They take a lot of pride in what they do and you can clearly see that. I’ve had the opportunity to try their tuna, yellow tail, uni, and salmon roe sushi. So good! And so fresh! Love it and I’ll be back!
Kohki Tanizaki
Went by myself with no reservations and got seated immediately at the sushi bar. Very comfortable ambience, I just walked in with flip flops and a sweater. Not the cleanest show case with fish tossed in without too much care, overall a bit messy set up but can't argue with the delicious results. Red sea bream was firm and chewy. Akami was flavorful and fresh although the zuke, or the marinade, seemed to have hardened the outside, resembling a tataki which I wasn't a fan of. Their wild yellowtail was delicious. The best part was their rice balls in the nigiri that were fluffy and melting in your mouth with the fie, not chewy however but hey that would just be nitpicking. The specials also varied with lots of fish that you would'nt see at too many other places especially Denver. The tempura wasn't that impressive except for their one shiitake mushroom that was shockingly good. Here I was eating this mediocre tempura assortment and this random godly gem of a juicy mushroom explodes with flavor in my mouth and it was jarring to be honest. The price was slightly too much for what was offered, it was all delicious but it was priced as a place where all the points I nitpicked earlier shouldn't be there, having said that though it's not egregiously expensive. Overall it's the best of it's class, by that I mean of the sushi restaurants that you can casually walk into, write down what you want on the checklist menu, get lit with your friends, be loud, and generally have a comfortable and warm experience without too much consideration for formality or traditions.

My wife and I did the chef's table experience as part of our honeymoon. It was the best restaurant experience of my life. Every course was delicious and meticulously prepared and the chef and waiter were both incredibly helpful about explaining everything and preparing the meal specifically suited for us. It does cost quite a bit but if you're looking to splurge or celebrate a special occasion, this is the place to do it.
Dave Chiu
Stick with the Catch of the Day specialties. Spend the money. You will not regret it!
Melora Wittig-Estredge
Amazing food and excellent service, as always!
Matthew Behnke
Freshest sushi you'll find in Denver. Awesome service, nice atmosphere, clean place! Get there early on a Friday or Saturday night, the place fills up fast.

Beautiful Restaurant 🥰 delicious food 🍣 wonderful staff😁👏

Always great food and great overall experience. A Denver staple.
Service has been a lil challenging lately but completely understandable. that is really been happening just about everywhere these days.
Great atmosphere. Always a good experience. Highly recommend. 👍🏼
Daniel Zinski
Best Sushi I've had in the US to this point. Order off the specials menu. Not terribly pricey for the quality.
Nick Nguyen
Best sushi in Denver hands down. I can see people complaining about 2 things: a long wait, and the noise level. In my opinion, great atmosphere, people watching, service, AND food. You won't be disappointed..
Nelly Birtch
I ordered takeout for the first time here and had a wonderful experience. The girl on the phone i believe her name was sky was very helpful and answered all the questions i had. The gentleman at the pick up window was also very kind and helpful and the food was amazing. We will be ordering again!
Wade
What really needs to be said that hasn't been said already in the thousands of reviews here already? Sushi Den is incredible.
Melody Forry
We had a wonderful date night here! I even forgot my wallet as we were leaving and in the few minutes before I came back they went ABOVE AND BEYOND by running after me and calling me and leaving a message! Great service. Wonderful sushi. Great staff.
Elvira Vasquez
The weekends are always busy, make sure to check in beforehand. The quality of the food is astonishing, it is on a higher quality side which reflect the on the prices. Never had a complain as every time is a great experience. The staff has always been great and give the best recommendations. A perfect dinner date idea.
Kartik Patel
Always great sushi in Denver, fresh fish and good quality. Cocktails also on point and taste great.
Mike Kuhel
Best sushi you can get that isnt on the coast. Will definitely be back again.
Annie McManus
Worth the wait; the fish is so fresh and service is amazing! They're still short handed from Covid so be prepared for a longer and enjoyable dinner. Chow was an awesome server, he had the best suggestions including this ginger sashimi app that was to die for. Thanks for a great experience Chow!
Max Stanton
I'm not a huge fan of places with tons of hype, and the line up of cars in the valet on a Saturday night is indicative of the clientele, but every meal I've had here has been absolutely superb (just be prepared to pay for it).
Slick and bustling, good service, and a nice blend of sushi and typical side dishes. Although many of the patrons might not take it seriously, the chefs definitely do.
Highly recommended.

There’s much better sushi in Denver. This place has grown too big for it’s own good. Our server and our drinks were great, otherwise this review would have been much worse.
Joseph Caffrey
Holy Smokes, This is better than any Sushi restaurant I've been to in New York city. We ordered mainly from the flown in from Japan menu, but also ordered the Sushi Deluxe set. The set was the best selection in a set I have ever seen or tasted! Hand rolls, octopus, meguro, etc. The Toro was amazing and so was the eel. Also the staff was amazing and told us that it was the best run restaurant they have ever worked at.
Robert Evans
You won’t be disappointed. Had a blast here with some friends. Service was fine not over the top not lacking anything. The menu was fantastic and the prices were fair. I would definitely go for sushi only or again for sushi and entrees. The calamari was the best I’ve had in the states. The waiters can really help you with decisions on unique dishes to try. Great service and the sushi is so fresh. Always want to visit Sushi Den when I go to Denver!
Forge Thought
Amazing fresh sushi. Some of the best fish you can find in the middle of a landlocked state. Great mixes drinks, entrées, and appetizers. Some of the best Miso soup we have had.
The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Worth coming back to, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Only downside was noisy patrons who wouldn't stop talking for an hour and a half. If you can't slow down and find some silence in which to savor the food here, I don't think you are living your best life.
Good people, good food.
Rel Well
I like to go here for special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, bar mitzvah, any excuse to get some of their delicious fish in my belly 🐠🐟 …
Dianna Stuckey
This place was absolutely delicious. Between sushi and appetizers, we didn't even have to order entrees. We will be going back 10/10
Emily Carey
Pricy but incredible. Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.
Leo
Such good sushi! Recommend sitting at the sushi bar.
Duc Tran
High quality atmosphere and taste.
Jim Dumont
Top notch. This and Matsuhisa Aspen are the best high end sushi spots in Colorado. You could blindly pick something off the menu and would be impressed.
N Jensen
Best sushi in Denver HANDS DOWN. Trust me I’ve tried the other options and there is simply no comparison. They also have great small bites at sister restaurant Ototo. Everything is great at sushi den I have tried the majority of the menu and have never had an issue.
Caraleena
Great food! Everything is beautiful and our waitress was so amazing! Thanks!
Michelle Blalock
OMG! The yummiest of yummy! Thank you Eric for being the greatest server ever! 🤗😘👍
C M
Our meal was excellent and our waiter Brian was on point all night. He knew the menu inside and out and made great recommendations for different sushi rolls and nigiri that we wouldn't have thought to try otherwise.
Courtney Lennon
Our favorite sushi place in Denver! We bring everyone who visits here and have never had a bad experience.
Doug Brown (MinimalGarlic66)
By far the best sushi in Denver. Used to be the perfect weekday lunch spot, but Covid happened. Generous portions, fresh and flown in from Japan daily, very large selection of both special catches and on their normal menu. Only downside is you have to get there before 5 or face at least an hour wait.
Thomas Moser
One of the best Sushi restaurants i ever visited. Thank you for the experience
Karen Chong
What a surprise! I didn't expect Denver to have such a great sushi joint. They had very fresh seafood and unique fish, and are flown in from Tokyo. Specials that you would see in legit Japanese restaurants, and had a wide menu with many kinds of assorted rolls (classics and modern takes).
The service was also excellent.
Overall, a very satisfying experience and glad we were able to get a table during lunch!
Saad Akhtar
I barely ever leave reviews but after trying Sushi Den I felt compelled to. This was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life and I’ve tried a multitude of high end establishments all over the country like nobu, matsuhisa, and sugar fish. The freshness was the part that made Sushi Den stand out. Not a single trace of fishy taste or smell in any of the nigiri. For the price this place is a no brainer. Ive had sushi at places that were 100$+ per person and I’d still say sushi den was fresher. Trying the Aburi is a MUST. Aburi is when pieces of nigiri or sashimi are quickly seared on the outside but left raw on the inside. It was honestly mind boggle if how good it was. I tried the Aburi toro bluefin as well as an Aburi salmon and it just completely blew my mind. This place gets more than a 10/10 from me.
Max Boeck
Amazing sushi, highly recommend the new style salmon. Huge sushi bar! Also great mixed drinks
Christy Comben
This place is always really busy but for good reason! Their sushi is fantastic, I would also recommend the miso soup. Our servers are also always super friendly and knowledgeable! If you like sushi you have to visit!
David Campbell
Always amazing food and service. It’s hard to go anywhere else when we know Sushi Den doesn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.
Aron Cruz
Dallas is the man and the banana cream pie is a banger!!! 11/10 coming back. 🤩
Monica Phillips
This place has mastered the pandemic dining experience. We were in line at 4:37 and seated by 5:12, happily enjoying an incredible sushi dinner, drinks, and dessert. The staff is polite and incredibly efficient. Can't wait to go back!
Ethan Anderson
Excellent sushi. Professional, friendly service. Good wine list, both by the glass and bottles.
Lindsey Sarshad
Sushi den obviously has amazing food but what really made our experience was Steven(who shocking had only worked there for three weeks). He was our server and he was the best. He totally took the reigns on our food and drink. We gave him about how much we were willing to spend and he crafted an amazing course dinner for us. The dishes came, every one better than the last. On top of that we told him we wanted a gin cocktail and he whipped up an amazing drink (with the help of the bartender). So good that we had to requested another spectacular personal cocktail. Then finished off our dinner with a exquisite saki paring. Long story long, we put our trust in Steven and he did not disappoint.
Ryan P
We went here for my birthday. Delicious Sushi and great wait staff. Stephen helped us with the freshest selections and we had a great time connecting as a family.
Ed Salvadore
My wife and I went here to celebrate our 24th anniversary. We were overwhelmed. The room looks small but is quite spacious. We arrived before the rush and were seated right away. Our waiter, Chris, was amazing professional and made excellent suggestions. Their sushi is some of the best in the area. The atmosphere was warm. We had a wonderful evening and plan to return often.
Our thanks to the staff and chefs for making our Anniversary so memorable.
Brianne Hughes
Such a gem! The restaurant is stunning, the food and service is incredible. Servers are VERY knowledgeable and provide all the information you could possibly need to make the best selection for your meal, especially if it’s your first time. Perfect place for a date night. Couldn’t recommend more!!
Leigh Gallo
We went on New Year's Eve-got there shortly after 4:45pm and were lucky to get in before having to wait to be seated (no reservations or happy hour that day). Sushi was amazing - we had rolls and individual sushi pieces. The yellowtail was like butter-truly delightful! The acoustics were great -the place was packed yet we could hear our friends fine. Service was excellent! And if you like sake, they have quite a collection to choose from.
Lyna Nguyen
Be prepared to wait, no reservations, but it is worth the wait! Miso black cod, grilled squid, new style salmon sashimi, all of their rolls. A touch of magic goes into each dish/piece of sushi. By far, the best sushi place to eat in Colorado!
Skyler C
Fantastic sushi. And did not expect to have a sukiyaki available which was excellent. Basically a Japanese hot pot that I suggest everyone have once from anywhere worth getting it and it is certainly worth getting at sushi den. They also serve your choices in sequence of what should be eaten according to their taste profiles like what should be done; but is difficult based on the rate you eat and how much was ordered. Handled perfectly here
Jere Smith
Everything was delicious. I had various rolls, the shrimp & lobster wantons, and the mango panna cotta. All of it delicious from first bite to last. My husband had the ribeye. I tasted it and it was cooked a perfect medium rare, but maybe lacked flavor. The truffle potatoes were the best (although, to be fair, the only) I’ve ever had.
Daniel Pothier
Absolute favorite sushi in CO. Maybe anywhere. Quality and service are better than places that are triple the price. Fresh selection was amazing. Recommendations from very knowledgeable server were right on. Almost didn't try the Kobe beef roll, so glad we did!
Cody Fortner
This is the sushi you want in Denver! Insanely fresh. Great combination of flavors. It’s been 3 years since I’ve eaten at Sushi Den and I literally talk about this food at least once a month. It’s that memorable!
Egen Moe
Fantastic! After living in Hawaii for 25+ years and being fortunate enough to have access to incredible fresh fish year-round, I have to admit that I wasn't expecting to be blown away. Was I wrong!! The quality and freshness was unmistakable, the preparation and presentation was first rate. Top it off with a squeaky clean space and an excellent server and you have an A+ dining experience. Well done Sushi Den, Mahalo!!
Moises Hinojosa
Sarah our waitress gave the best food recommendations and was very attentive!
Lisa Flora
I judge a sushi place by their uni and there's was fresh and great. Very nice ambience and they are allowing you to eat indoors at the neighboring restaurant. Pleasant staff and excellent quality... Not the best in Denver but certainly in the top five.
Josh Bartley
Having grown up in Colorado and lived in Denver for ten years I always loved Sushi Den and thought it was the best in the state. When I moved to Seattle I thought for sure I would learn that our little landlocked state couldn't compete for quality sushi. How wrong I was. Sushi Den remains my favorite sushi restaurant in the states. The quality fish, flavor, and overall dining experience are outstanding.
Whenever we have sushi in Seattle I always wish it could be Sushi Den. When we come home to visit family I try to make it for a meal. Whenever friends ask for recommendations on Denver, Sushi Den is top of the list. Get a reservation or be prepared to wait. But even if you must wait, you will be glad you did.
John Grubenhoff
So worth it. I had never been to a nice sushi place and Sushi Den didn't disappoint. My only problem is now I don't want to ever go to a regular sushi place again.
Logan K
Wow! Sushi Den is phenomenal! During COVID, they certainly have all their ducks in a row. The staff is amazing (including Craig, Steven and the many other awesome people manning the phone for questions and orders). They were all patient, knowledgeable, personable and incredibly thorough.
Pick up was easy with a quick text confirming that my order was ready. It was arranged well to ensure 6 feet of social distancing and requiring that masks were mandatory. Great job keeping everyone safe, Sushi Den!
There was a line of six people picking up at the same time, but the 1-4 staffers who rotated out, quickly helped things flow efficiently. Each one (including the Bento box staffers...I went to the wrong line initially) were so friendly! The to-go staff took great care to ensure I had everything I needed. Hands down a great take out experience!
Another bonus were the suggestions on what to order: going over flavor, to portions, to accompaniments, as well as the must-try’s.....it has always been the best way to enjoy all that Sushi Garden has to offer.
We absolutely loved the sake, sushi, rolls and desert! It’s a delicious experience well worth the hefty price tag. I have been frequenting since 2008 on all my Denver trips and each experience has always exceeded the bar! I cannot wait for the next time! 😍
Charles Vigil
My experience from Sushi Den is a little low, hence the four stars. It is skewed higher because of the quality of the food. Probably the best Sushi I've ever had. This place is BUSY! Pickup was a mess to deal with, (parking nightmare), and although asking for extra condiments, I was shorted, (slim on Wasabi and no Soy Sauce!). I understand the popularity of great food, however, adding a mandatory 12% service fee and ample tip on top of that, to come home to find this out reaked "POOR SERVICE"! It's an ugly blemish on beautiful food.
T G
Waited an hour for a table. Son's meal had to be sent back. The tempura wasnt cooked all the way. They did replace it. Table next to us was extremely loud and the restaurant is an industrial vibe so everything echoed. The sushi was very good. The ramen as well. Several things we initially tried to order they were out of. Did not find it lived up to the hype.
Ella B
Sushi Den is without a doubt my favorite sushi, and favorite restaurant, in Denver. The service is wonderful, the staff like family, and the food is superb. The fish quality is not only the best in Denver - but some of the best sushi I’ve ever had from coast to coast.
We’ve been loyal customers here for years and will be for years to come. I bring family, friends, colleagues, and visitors here, and would recommend for any occasion. Omakase is exceptional.
Try the seasonal and daily specials, sashimi plates, and the miso black cod.
The to go service is also great. Everything is packaged and labeled with care. Sauces come on the side, and hot/cold items are packaged separately.
Rachael Wachs
The place to go for sushi in Denver! Always so fresh!
Ebenezer Chelliah
This place is incredible!! They fly in fish everyday from Tokyo and everything is so incredible fresh. I've had amazing sushi in California before, but this is likely one of the best sushi experiences I've had in the country. For being an "up scale" restaurant, their prices are decent. They also have appetizers as well as rolls such as kobe beef rolls, avocado, asparagus rolls etc., for those who don't like raw fish and those are still amazing. You will not be disappointed!!
Carrie Ngai
Great food, atmosphere, and service. This is easily the best sushi I've had in Denver. It was fresh and we'll prepared. We sat at the sushi bar and it was fun to watch them prepare our food and time it perfectly from plate to plate. The mango Panna Cotta was pretty and had a great contrast between the creaminess of the Panna Cotta and the tartness of the mango. It made for a 10/10 date night.
Lana Raimbault
Great atmosphere, very good quality food, and our waiter Laura was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Stephanie Linsley
This place is easily the best sushi in Denver. They always have fresh, high quality fish. You can just taste the difference between Sushi Den and other sushi. Service is always exemplary. It is the kind of atmosphere where you can go totally casual, or total fancy and still feel comfortable.
This is our go-to sushi spot.
Jason Crist
We are from Virginia and this was my second time at Sushi Den. Tracy Saori was our waitress and was great. Very polite, and great recommendations that did not disappoint. The food was spectacular. Clean, fresh and delicious. Even our dessert was incredible. Will always come back when I’m back in Denver.
Colleen Clare-Coen
WOW & WOW is my review! Simply incredible Sushi! We actually decided last minute as we had reservations at a nearby Italian Restaurant but changed our mind and weren’t disappointed. Starting with the ambiance at the bar and where we were seated to the great staff and the Sushi was INCREDIBLE!!!! One of my most favorite sushi spots in the country is Sushi on Fire in Huntington Beach and I’ve always held this spot at the top of my list! Sushi Den is equally delicious and I’ll 💯 be back the next time I’m in Denver.
Vivian Ha
Food is always AMAZING, staff was very nice. Quality of food is always on point and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. Definitely the best sushi restaurant in Colorado.
Sarah Darlington
We did the sushi class and it was so much fun! You really learn a lot about how the sushi is made and it's so great getting hands on experience. The chef is hilarious and you can tell he has a lot of pride and love for what he does. They were very accommodating for people with special dietary needs (gluten free for me).
Samuel Maes
Sushi Den is wonderful. I just had my anniversary there, and it was as perfect as it was a year ago. The atmosphere is beautiful, but also very busy so be prepared. The staff is very active and charming, and the food is excellent. I'll admit their vegetarian options are a bit boring but everything else is so good. I always order an appetizer, soup, a ton of sushi, and then a dessert. Even if im full within the first ten minutes. All their fish is fresh, and they have a great selection of imported beers. I loved the kyoto ale the best so far. I hope they never change.
Mason Lee
Went for the omakase, our server Steven was very knowledgeable about the fish and kept the food within our budget! Aside from the nice ambience, the food was absolutely delicious!
Trevor Schulze
Best sushi in Denver.
Almost on the level of Japan.
Heidi Heath
Had a great first visit to Sushi Den for my husband's Birthday. Service and atmosphere were great. We tried several dishes recommended by our server and they were all excellent. By far the best Sushi we've had in Denver, and the cocktails were great too!
Rae Feldman
Best sushi restaurant I've been to in my life.
Everything from the miso soup, to the sushi rolls, and even seaweed salad was a cut above any I've had elsewhere!
Staff is courteous, professional, and service is all you'd expect and more at such a dining establishment.
The atmosphere is classy meets sultry. Bring a date, a colleague, or some friends. They'll thank you!
Googleguide002
I am from Seattle and I completely trust the seafood here. This is extremely good sushi. It is on the pricier side but it is definitely worth it. The Diver Scallops are amazing and they have some spectacular rolls. Being from Seattle I do prefer Pacific salmon over Atlantic however the fish (I've heard) is hand picked day of. I have been here at least 4 times in the last month and wish I had the money to eat here everyday.
Tanya Cardwell
Best sushi in Denver. Childhood friends talked about this when I was a kid. My family was never into sushi, and was probably too cheap. It wasn't until I was in my mid-30's when I could invest in the experience. No regrets. Sushi Den will leave you wanting to come back and experience everything on the menu...a creative menu where the mediums are fish, veggies, and rice alcohol!
Haleema Mian
The wait was as expected and it was absolutely worth it! The fish was obviously extremely fresh and the service was amazing too! I have seen more creative sushi options, but with the quality of fish this place has, they don't need to do much to make delicious sushi!
Jack N
The Osaka Style Aburi Sockeye Salmon was the single greatest bite I have ever had. Don't skip on the desserts either!
Robert Breaux
I travel a lot and have had sushi all over the country and this definitely ranks at the top. Great sushi, wonderful atmosphere. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.
Lauren Trotter
Sushi den, how I wanted to love you. The line at the door before opening suggested you were a high end and amazing Sushi place. Your atmosphere started off beautiful, dark in a cozy way, and not so much I couldn’t read the menu. We chose to sit at the bar, a decision I regret as by the time everyone outside had been seated, multiple servers had reached over us to pick up or drop off orders without so much as an excuse me. Several times my friends drink was knocked into and spilled. The sushi was about the same quality as most the other casual sushi places. The service wasn’t awful but the places imbalance of high prices, poor quality and cramped space leave a lot to be wanting.
I’d recommend this place if you choose not to sit at the bar, or if you wait till the initial dinner rush is over. The prices did exceed the quality and the service fell short however I’m willing to bet it had to do with where we sat and when we arrived.
Lindsay McCary Miner
Absolutely can’t get enough of this place. The sushi is the best in Denver. It’s a little pricey, but truly worth every single dime. It’s an exceptional special treat. The takeout is just as good as eating in the restaurant. Can’t wait to dine in again one day!
Iqra Hussain
I have a love hate relationship with this place. I’ve been coming to sushi den for years! They consistently have amazing sushi, and subsequently; consistently provide awful service. So until I find a better sushi place in Denver, I will be putting up with the poor service. Four solid stars for the great sushi!
Brandon Wong
Best sushi in Denver! Their fishes are always fresh and the ambience is very well presentable. Also they live up their expectation as the best sushi in Denver with quality rolls and services. You’ll never be disappointed when you go there
Helena
Sushi was fresh and excellent! Be prepared to wait if there are more than 2 people in your party (and make sure the whole party is there before you put your name down) but definitely worth it. They have a bar you can order drinks at while you wait too!
Jessica Brabham
Our favorite date night spot. Never disappoints.
Ben Daniels
Amazing aburi. Great service at the sushi counter.
Priscilla Abeleda
Pricey & long waiting time but the food is worth the money and time! Will definitely eat here again.
Connor Kuybus
Everytime we go all the fish is fresh, the cooks are great, and the waitstaff always friendly and knowledgeable. It is nearly impossible to have a bad experience here. My whole family loves Sushi Den, and easily the best sushi in colorado!
Michelle Ka
Came here for a special birthday dinner date and had a blast. We sat right at the bar and had the freshest fish I've had in Colorado.
The sukiyaki was also phenomenal.
My boyfriend doesn't really do fish, more just stomachs it for me since it's my favorite. He loved the spider roll though with soft shell crab.
chris bostwick
The pickup was a little off. Wanted to have an at home date night with Sushi Den and a live stream concert. Unfortunately my order wasn’t ready on time after working with the staff it was noticed my order was under another customer name. The staff was great and I was fortunately able to make it home with 4 minutes to spare. The food as always was great even if we had to eat at home.
Lucas Munisteri
Sushi Den and the Neighboring Izakaya Den are two of the best sushi restaurants I have ever eaten at. They truly care about their customers. Any time a mistake is made with an order they go above and beyond to fix the issue. This place is so amazing that I make it a point to hold business lunches here and always go out of my way to bring out of town guest here.
Chase Prueitt
Took my family there and there was no flaws! Great workers and customer service. Didn’t take long at all to get our sushi. Everything was completely fresh as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
