Reviews of Fish N Beer
Deb Cupples
Stellar service in a cozy, hip environment with food that is to die for. Cocktails were excellent. Scallops were sweet, tasty and cooked perfectly. The mussels were top-notch and plentiful in a delicious broth that begged for more grilled bread (which we were nicely offered). Priced right and all-around a wonderful dining experience.

Absolutely delicious the first night I went we got all that’s pictured so delicious we ate at the kitchen bar it was inviting fun atmosphere music amazing. Went back last night and had the lobster Mac and fish n chips ( didn’t take photos cuz we ate so fast) so delicious our server Scott was amazing attentive and fun! All the servers / hostess are great very good service and friendly. The kitchen staff are so interactive. I love to dance with them and they are honestly “My Peoples” like it’s just something I can’t explain the connection I have with them and their culture their music. The food and ambience is amazing. This is now our spot for good vibes and good seafood.
Allyson Georgeson
Best seafood I’ve had in Colorado. The oysters, peel and eat shrimp, and mussels are to die for. Everything we ordered was amazing. Service was great and food came out fast. Drinks were delicious too.
Mitchell Lucas
Folks, is there anything better than getting some hot bass on a Friday night?
I’ve got 3 words for you: whole grilled fish. That bass really lives up to the hype, and the Brussels sprouts that come with them are out of this world. We also got some oysters (not pictured), Caesar salad, guac, and the Best Key Lime Pie in Denver. All was good— especially liked the homemade Caesar dressing and the raw tuna in the guac, a fun twist. I think I could drink the devil butter.
Thanks for a great birthday dinner Fish N Beer… we will be back!

This little spot is wow. Open fire grill that's right in front of you at the bar. Enjoyed some snapper cevieche and some Scottish salmon. One of the best meals I've ever had. Service was impeccable drinks were nice. If you want some good fish and beer, then come to fish and beer. It's in the RiNo district so there's plenty of murals to enjoy on your walk

Best oysters I have had outside of the Chesapeake Bay. They tasted very fresh!! The staff was very nice as well, and the space has a cool vibe. I highly recommend this place.
Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Highly recommend this place. Food here is exceptional. Love seeing the wood fire in action. Highlights are grilled oysters, salmon and fried smelt!

So to start with - If you like something quite dont visit .. but if you love seafood keep reading :)
Appetizers :
Smelt Fries with tar tar sauce is a MUST - Missing that would be a sin
Peel N Eat Shrimp - NOTE ITS A COLD shrimp so if thats your thing then go for it.
Oysters : Devil Butter and Garlic Butter wood grill oysters are a MUST MUST MUST ... Devil butter being my favorite ...
Main Course :
Alamosa Bass - Very fresh quality well grilled fish with good veg options if you love grilled fish go for it
Scottish Salmon - The best part of this was the creamy sauce so if you prefer something on the creamy side this is the best option
Stuffed Pacific Rock Fish - This was good but there was some tangy taste which i was not able to figure out which i didnt like much.. so i would stick with either scottish salmon or alamosa bass
dessert : simple they only have 1 option which is the best in town. if you like lemon pie then you wont find a pie better than this ... go for it if you like lemonish flavor

I’m from the east coast. Who knew this place in a mid western landlocked state would have some of the best fish and chips and octopus i’ve ever had - if not the best. I will be thinking about this meal for awhile. Great service.
Jordan Wilde
Highly, highly recommend this place. Quality food prepared beautifully and with great flavors. Definitely get the salmon with gnocchi and the grilled oysters!
Hisham
Probably the best fish n chips in Denver. Oysters are delectable. shot n beer combo is unbeatable. I could eat the Salmon gnocchi dish forever. Staff are always super chill and vibing
Al Skaggs
Awesome place. Our server Brice was the best. We ordered everything she suggested and it did not disappoint. Best seafood in Denver. Walking distance to the mission ballroom. So it’s perfect for dinner before a concert.
Frank Stanislawczyk
Awesome spot! Tiny dining room so keep that in mind, but totally worth it if you have to wait. Seafood can be tricky in a landlocked state but these guys nail it! Got here for happy hour and the oysters (pictured, both raw and grilled) were the best I've had in Colorado. Fish and chips (not pictured because I ate it too fast) were solid, but the fish was a little on the salty side. Service was impeccable as well, everyone is very friendly and on point. Highly recommend this place if you like seafood! I will certainly be back for more oysters and to try the rest of the menu.
George
Wonderful meal! A nice surprise was the happy hour specials that were running when we came for our dinner reservation. We ended up having tapas style plates for oysters, tacos, mussels, shrimp and great beers! We were celebrating a birthday and topped it off with some homemade key lime pie!
Helena
One of the greatest meals I have had in a LONG time. I was in the mood for oysters but didn't really want a white table cloth, chain seafood restaurant. The oysters were great; they have east and west coast. We preferred the west coast but it's really worth ordering both. the west coast were small but sweet and succulent and had almost a creamy finish. The east coast were larger and quite a bit brighter and briney. I ordered the Scottish salmon that came with obviously house-made gnocchi and mushrooms in a mushroom pan sauce. It was to die for. Perfect portion to fill me without hurting myself, perfectly (although simply) seasoned and perfectly cooked, just falling apart tender. My boyfriend ordered the crab stuffed rock fish that was so rich and buttery it practically melted in your mouth. We rounded out the dinner with their famous key lime pie and let me tell you it is famous for a reason. I will be thinking about this dinner every day until I can eat it again. I wish I could remember our servers name because she was attentive and so wonderful. A+ experience all around
Josh Stevens
It's on the pricier side but so good! Just make sure to make a reservation since the limited hours mean it can be filled up quick. We had to sit at the bar but it turned out to be a fun experience watching them wood grill various dishes.
I had the grilled bass which is 🤌. The smelt fries were tasty and the key lime pie is a must.

We went to Fish N Beer on a whim after deciding to make an impromptu road trip to Denver, and what a spectacular first meal it was. The space is small but comfortable, and high energy with lots of chatter and hip-hop playing on the speakers. Perfect ambiance for my wife and I, but if you're looking for a quiet dining room, this ain't it!
We enjoyed everything we consumed, from the peel and eat shrimp to crab-stuffed cod, to a wood-fired Spanish octopus dish. Cocktails were on point and I enjoyed a couple local beers from a a small but well-curated beer list.
If we weren't in Denver for such a short time, I could totally see us going back there again to try more menu items! But it's definitely on our list to revisit next time we're back in town.
Eliot Quon
Great food, great ambiance!! Trendy yet warm and inviting. You can see the fish cooking over a wood fire right when you walk in.
Some notes to future patrons: Aside from the stellar playlist, there does not appear to be any relation between this and the more poultry centric joint in Atlanta. Also, it’s called Fish N Beer, not Fish N Cocktails, so stick to beer. Our two cocktails were bourbon based and mezcal based, and advertised as not too sweet and not too sour. They came out way too sweet and with way too much lime.
Eating: Alamosa Bass. Simply put, I loved every part of this dish. Beautifully charred, with crispy flavorful skin. Kudos for serving up the whole fish on the plate so that every bit of it can be enjoyed. We grew up with weekly meals featuring a whole fish on the table, but this was most definitely not my mom’s fish. This was next level.

Every time I visit from Minnesota, I always come here! Best seafood in town. It’s can get busy, so expect a lot of people. Good food equals a lot of people, Keep that in mind. I always get the muscles and fire roasted oysters! They also have a happy hour if your trying to save some money
Zack
This place is Great!
Best app - Chips & Guac from the sea. Killer flavor. Garlic oysters are BOMB. Cocktails are solid too. Bee Humble was tasty.
Vibe is urban, contemporary, cool and comfortable with a touch of class 👏🏻
Angela Bryan
Truly outstanding place that you might just walk by without noticing. But trust me you'll be so glad you went! The guac from the sea is a MUST. It was so good that after we finished it we kind of wanted to order another one...but alas dinner orders had been placed. Grilled octopus was out of this world. Service was also excellent. Only complaint is that for a place with beer in the name they were out of many of the beers they have on tap! But that's probably a supply chain thing so I won't knock off a star for that. :)
Kevin Mann
Super fresh seafood and a nice vibe. A good mix of “happening” and “chill” atmosphere. Had great service even though we ordered in waves. Food and drinks came out pretty quick and our server checked in “just enough”. Excellent experience.
Simon Barriga
Great seafood and atmosphere. Their happy hour specials are tasty and excellent value. Don't miss the chargrilled oysters, the mussels, and the octopus. And whatever you do, don't leave without tasting the key lime pie!
Aly Wade
I was really on the fence between 3 & 4 so I guess I give it a 3.5. We had a Friday night reservation at 8 pm and they have strict instructions that you only have a 5 minute grace period and $40 (iirc) if you no show.
I'm fine with these rules and they were clear about them when you make a reservation, but with rules like that I think there should be mutual respect. We arrived right at 7:58, but weren't seated until 8:15 without any explanation or updates.
The drinks were delicious and well priced, definitely get a cocktail. We got the mussels, smelt fries, crab stuffed rock fish and key lime pie.
The mussels were ok, not the most flavorful and a good amount weren't open. The bread was my favorite part which isn't a great sign. The smelt fries were also good, but only once we put on lemon and really needed salt. The stuffed rock fish was amazing, if everything tasted like that it would be 5 stars, so it is possible we ordered the wrong things. Key lime pie again was fine, nothing memorable, well made meringue, but the crust tasted like it could have been store bought.
A few quick notes - we sat outside and it was cheap furniture, very uneven ground and some weird smells. I feel bad for dinging them on that because it feels a little harder to control, but I wouldn't sit outside again or recommend it. Also, they kept messing with the music volume levels and changing songs before they were over, again not a huge deal but distracting.
Riccardo Renna
Was one of my favorite spots in Denver before, and I was looking to try it again after their re opening. I was not disappointed at all. Good quality of seafood and drinks. Also, I was happy to find on the menu the whole grilled Alamosa bass, which to me is a nice memory of home in Italy. Smoked mussels amazing and thw broth definitely required a generous portion of their bread. Special mention to the staff which is always at the top. Especially our server. If we weren't told she was in training, i would't have told. Kudos!
Lauren Meier
Terrific dinner at Fish N Beer! Delish food, we had the clam chowder, Caesar salad, salmon and fish and chips, all were amazing! We sat at the counter and it’s so fun to watch the prepare everything. Don’t miss this place in Denver!
Ryan York
I had high expectations and they were exceeded in every way. The staff were on point, the music was uniquely good, and the food was out of this world. The oysters were super fresh and the shrimp and grits had ginger that took it to a whole new level!
Rebecca Drusch
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver! Service is amazing and the food is always delicious. I really recommend the oysters and their F&B basket, but all the food is great!
Peter Davey
Amazing gem in RiNO (Denver). Service is the best, food is off the hook ;) and drinks are dabomb. Must be on your list to visit while here
Mik B
Good food, though selection varies seasonally and diminishes later in the day. Only gripe is the music is REALLY CRANKED UP for us hard of hearing types. Younger crowd, likely for their benefit so they can talk LOUD! Regardless, I like good food, would go back.
Eddie Burke
Fresh seafood. Friendly, attentive service. Honest and straightforward atmosphere. Fantastic food! You can come here with friends, family, coworkers, on a date, anything really… you won’t feel out of place no matter the company. Had smoked fish dip, HH Snapper tacos, raw oysters, crab stuffed rockfish, and key lime pie. Zero complaints.
All-around good schtuff!
matthew kabbash
A great spot to have some seafood. A perfect fit for the neighborhood. The wood fire grill is awesome. Get a seat at the bar if you can.
Reuben A
I used to come here a lot for happy hour pre-Covid and it was pretty good then. My only regret is not coming here MORE often since things have gotten SOO much better! The food, the service, the whole vibe… I believe my server was Jennifer and she was SOO hospitable and accommodating. And Maurice I’ll never forget: SO cool and impressive; doing a million things at once while taking care of everyone and being so friendly! Unrivaled happy hour and even better staff check it out and try EVERYTHING
Garcia Ana
Delicious! Came here spontaneously for my husbands bday & so glad we did! Drinks, food, and desert are AHHMAZING!!! Great staff, great vibes, will be back!
Fresh Mootz
This is one of the best restaurants in Denver. From the friendly competent staff to the delicious food, they nailed the entire experience. Highlights:
Best guac in Denver
Best Key Lime Pie in Denver
Great happy hour on Tuesday
Our server Alexander was excellent. We love this place.
Frank Guerra
The name doesn't do it justice. Top notch food and service in a fun neighborhood. The grilled oysters are especially good.
Nick Hastain
Excellent customer service, robust beer and bar, tasty morsels and main dishes cooked over wood grill. Freakin yum yum! The chowder..omg. It will be a favorites!
Mr. Mark Watts
Unfortunately do to Covid-19, I didn't really get experience the whole Fish & Beer vibe....but nevertheless, we had a great time! Hope to be back very soon‼️
B Yo
Outstanding! Recently reopened after recovering from a kitchen fire Mac & Naomi welcomed me at the door and made me feel instantly at home. A spot at the counter quickly opened up and it was time to try several items off the fantastic happy hour menu. Had amazing oyster for just $1 each and a great cocktail. Will absolutely be back because the dinner menu looks even better and the fish is grilled over a wood fire.
Self Improver
Happy hour. If you like seafood. The beer and drink selection is very good. Wide variety of drinks, and source the craft brews nationwide. Delicious sauce on the mussels. They were generous with the bread. Very disappointed in the slammer order, one tiny little sandwich, 4$, no fries nothing. I've been to other bars happy hours with 3 or 4 sliders for 5$. Left hungry for more food after ordering $70.
Kay Bobbobcat
Starts out great but the grease starts to get to you.
Josh Karczewski
I've never eaten a raw oyster in my life, until today. The happy hour menu encouraged me to sample and it didn't disappoint. One raw and one grilled oyster were enough to convince me I've been missing out.
The fish and chips + poboy hit the spot to round out a complete meal without breaking the bank.
The mules were subpar but the ambience, food, service and music made up for the lackluster drinks.
Brian Price
We absolutely loved this place! Going back! Found out about it with the passport. I had the whole fish and it was grilled perfectly. We also had the shrimp app which was yum too.
Nice selection of drafts.
We sat at the bar and it was quite hot since we were staring right at the grille..but ended up being worth it seeing them cook right in front of us.
It's also pretty loud in there but we like the small space places like this and sometimes they are just loud.
Lastly the service was on point and super friendly.
Laura Herrmann
I can't speak more highly about Fish N Beer - top 3 favorite restaurant in Denver! Atmosphere is incredible, staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is truly phenomenal. Arrive early, as the wait gets longer as the evening progresses! Great happy hour. This is a must in Denver!!
Sean Wetterberg
Awesome restaurant- I had been wanting to check this place out and it totally delivered. The whole bass was amazing as well as the dynamite oysters. The best part was the staff - Rachel was super attentive even though the place was packed. Best service I've had in a long time. I'll be back for sure to try other menu items.
Dan VanVladricken
Well I wasn't sure what to expect. Sat at the bar had a great view of the cooking area saw wood fire flames and 4 kitchen workers making some amazing food. We got there in time for happy hour and I had the shrimp jambalaya had a very good local Mexican lager. Ordered the salmon meal. It was incredible. Cooked nice and flakey in a crimini mushroom and kale sauce with gnocchi. Our bartender was on it, worth a visit.
Virter Marcelo
Food was delicious!! I had the Jambalaya, so tasty and my friend had the Fish sandwich. The roasted oysters were remarkable!! Definitely a must try if you are a fan of fish and seafood!
Sung Park
Great park with variety of little spots. Inner trail is 1.75 miles and easy to walk with paved roads. Parking can be tricky. Go to the visitor center and get some tips for exploring the park!
Danny Silva
Our hostess was really great, we didn't have a reservation (recommended) and she found a way to sit us. Our server was great and accommodating. The food was amazing. We had the bass and FNB plate. The vibe was fun and the music was great. We sat at the bar where you can watch the cooks prepare your food. All in all it was a good time and fun experience! We will be back for sure!
Jessica Holcombe
This place is amazing!! We were on our way to Infinite Monkey when this place caught my eye. We had reservations at another amazing downtown eatery this evening to celebrate my birthday, but from the street this place looked so good I immediately called to see if they had a table open. Our waiter Oliver was first class - so helpful with the menu and attentive the whole night. While the restaurant is small, it's extremely well done. Order the grilled oysters with the house sauce and the blowfish tails (to die for!) and you will thank me. Yay to anyone who offers a happy hour every day with food and drinks! We also had grilled whole fish that we shared, phenomenal mashed potatoes and gravy, and topped it off with dessert. Massive respect to a restaurant that only offers one dessert - and it is nothing short of perfection (and HUGE!). Thank you F+B for making my birthday (and impulse decision) an amazing one!
Jenny Oh
I’m 30 and I’ve never had an oyster. They blew my mind. The food quality and the hospitality can’t be beat. Everyone is so kind, interactive even for a small fast paced environment. 10/10 recommend.
Misty Raup
Amazing food and service. Loved the oysters as well. Will return.
Alice Weaver
Fantastic food, easily the best seafood we have had in Denver. Very reasonably priced. Good cocktails. We had the guacamole fish dip (must try), FNB basket, and bass. They also had a great playlist of off the beaten track 90/00s hip hop which had most people low key jamming in their booths. We will certainly be back.
Kyle Goldstein
Fish n Beer hits a home run. We started with the grilled artichoke, followed by almost 2 dozen oysters. Main course was the lobster Mac and cheese with the fish amd chips. The cocktails were great and the draft beer was just want I was craving. Hands down the best fried fish I’ve had.
Rocco Brudno
Fish and beer is a fresh breath of air for the seafood lover in Denver. Everything they offer is fresh, expertly cooked, and very delicious. The fish and chips are outstanding, and the key lime pie is insane (yes, I'm saying that having had many award winning pies in Florida). Fish N Beer is a killer spot for dinner in RiNo
Jeremy T Brown
Very nice quiet restaurant. We are outside in the front patio. Lorenzo was very attentive and helpful. Food came out really fast and was delicious.
Harvey Ngun
Best seafood restaurant in Denver the key lime pie is the best and addicting too
Hunter G
Oh this place slaps! Probably the best quality and most unique pescatarian leaning menu in all of Denver. Plus their Happy Hour menu is extremely affordable and insanely delicious albeit with smaller portions than their regular menu (just order a bunch of different dishes!). I would happily frequent this place at least once a week. Great place for a first date, dinner with a co-worker after work or for a group of friends to throw back some oysters and beers before going out on a Friday night. Highly recommend that everyone goes here at least five times.
Randy Shoup
This is our go-to place in Denver for excellent seafood. The happy hour is superb; where else can you get $1 Oysters!! Highly recommend the buffalo style blowfish tails and anything from their real wood fire grill. The lobster mac was amazing and their cocktails are solid.
Mark Radtke
Have you ever had blowfish tails or smelt fries? Go. Here. Now.
Best new restaurant I've found in months, maybe years. Creative, smart dishes. Solid wine. Great cocktails. Of course, interesting beers. Friendly, yet extremely professional, service. I was recommending it to people before the food even arrived. Already looking forward to coming back. My highest recommendation.
Reid Bangert
Simply put: GO HERE, it is absolutely phenomenal. From the oysters teasing you from the front window, to the superb staff, to the seafood fare that is truly groundbreaking. The atmosphere is buzzing at Fish N Beer and it is equally relaxed. What I loved was that it didn't have a single iota of pretentiousness while still being completely indulgent. One could have anything on the menu and feel the same emotions. If this restaurant isn't on the national radar in the next 6 months, I don't know what should be.
TIP: Party of 2, sit at the bar.
Michael Shoop
The whole Colorado bass I had here was incredible.
I took my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday and we received the most amazing, friendly service. I brought a candle with for his dessert and they smartly melted the bottom wax to stay vertical on his cake plate. It was awesome. Everyone we talked to was amiable and genuine. We must have spent two hours here and they never not once rushed us.
I highly recommend this place. Go in expecting to pay at least $60 a person. It’s worth the money.
Liani Ware
Great service, great food, GREAT HAPPY HOUR. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves oysters or wants to try them. Very nice and attentive staff, owner made a joke about the menus. Love it
Billy Bob
Best fish I’ve ever had in Colorado! Environment is awesome and fun! Def be back
Jenna Crouch
We love Fish n Beer! Their happy hour has great deals and it gives you a good taste of what's on the menu! Waitstaff and cooks are always friendly, and the cocktails are great! Definitely worth a stop!
TMS K
My favorite restaurant in Denver. Delicious food, great service, great playlists, more-than-fair prices.
Victoria Gocken
We had a lovely date night on a very cold evening.
Our booth was comfortable. I loved the oysters and definitely get the blowfish tails!
Chase Halgerson
What an excellent spot. Service was top notch and very friendly, music was great (was loud, but in a good way), and the food, wow. This spot has had some of the better seafood I have had in Denver. Oysters, Scallops, Rockfish, Crab, everything was delicious. Highly recommend.
La Darieus Parrish
I’m dropping 5 because I don’t have any complaints... if you haven’t had or hate Brussel sprouts these guys are doing something special so take them for a spin. Don’t believe them when they say your online fish order is dine in only (refer to pic)
jordan ebner
Come for the food and stay for the top notch service. Our bartender was unbelievably attentive. As soon as he heard the clatter of a dropped knife he had another ready for us. If we mentioned our interest in a dish he had feedback ready even though the place was packed.
We ordered muscles which were phenomenal, but as often happens with muscles you have lots of glorious sauce and no bread. Bartender brought us extra bread so we could absorb the liquid gold and before we had finished the first two pieces he had the next two ready.
Great service is hard to come by in Denver so coming somewhere where the service is mind-blowing is so freaking refreshing. Food is great too, but my mind was blown by how exceptional the service was.
I believe it was the lead bartender who helped us. Would love him to get the recognition he deserves for making our experience top notch but didn't catch his name. If a manager would like to ask me I can help figure out who it was.
Hanjong Yoo
Foods were little bit pricy but they weren’t impressive. It was very hard to find the parking spaces so recommend to take Uber or Lyft.
Brandon-Dean Morris
Just meh. Food was decent, service was excellent but everything was way overpriced and the restaurant smelled like a dumpster. Very hard to enjoy fish and chips while smelling rotten dumpster. Much better options available in the area IMO.
Antoine Rolland
Fantastic food , outstanding service and joyful atmosphere. The tuna guacamole, Spanish octopus and Scottish salmon are absurdly yummy.
Gold
Amazing meal. The fish and chip amd the lobster Mac and cheese was to die for. The grilled artichoke was a great start.
Triston Dimery
Awesome comfort food and great staff. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu
Jumanah Nsier
I love this neighborhood gem. For colorado, the fish n chips are honestly amazing: buttery, flaky, and fresh. Oysters are a must, raw or grilled. One of my favorite happy hours. Staff is always super chill and the music makes it a vibe (especially when 50 cent comes on). Love to see this place thriving!
Tasha Wall
Had such a great time! We arrived right at 5pm and it was packed. Happy hour is Monday (all day) and Tuesday-Saturday. I really loved the wood grilled oysters, the no-no slider, kale salad and the Wellfleet raw oysters. Calamari I could've skipped. Drinks were amazing and our server was great! We sat on the line and it was great seeing all the food coming out. Will be back ASAP!
Ryan Helseth
We came about a year ago and really enjoyed it. My wife wanted to eat here again last night for her birthday. We checked, and the website and google both indicated that they closed at 10. We loaded our family (including three kids) into the car after our son's basketball game and arrived at 8:49pm. The sign on the door also said they closed at 10. The door was locked, but the restaurant was full of staff and people, so I knocked, thinking the door had been locked accidentally. An employee walked out and said, "We are 100% closed. Kitchen is closed. Restaurant is closed" and turned around and closed the door behind him. Zero explanation. Honestly, if he had simply said something like, "We're short staffed tonight" that would have been all I wanted. It was really disappointing. There we stood, having driven across town to eat here, feeling like we were basically just told to take a hike. We ended up eating down the block at Himchuli and had a nice dinner. Long story short, be sure to call and make sure they're open before you go.
Just Jen
Beyond exceptional. Food, service, atmosphere were all amazing!! We will be back (was our first time). Highly recommend reservations, but also worth the wait if you can't. Octopus was probably the best I've ever had - seriously (yes in a land locked state) and the oysters were so fresh and delicious. Seriously, stop reading this and just go!
Kent Peterson
We’ve had such great times at fish n beer. Go-to for us is crisp Martinis and oysters. We were very surprised with craft cocktails, not something thrown together. Grilled seafood is great, so much of the menu we still have to work through. I must say though the staff is awesome, genuine and down to earth - felt right at home. Fish and beer is jewel and we’ll be back.
Nick Berg
Everything about this place is amazing! From the amazing, fresh food to the great service and even the music just made this the perfect place. If you love seafood but hate going to pretentious joints just to get good food, then you MUST come here!!
Danny Havelick
Maybe the best food I've had in Denver. Oysters were amazing, both raw and grilled. Fish and chips were just perfect. The grilled salmon was amazing. And the key lime pie was the ideal dessert for such a meal. Definitely going back.
Jeff Reese
The food was amazing and came out at a great pace. The portion size for the tuna guacamole was quite large with a fair amount of tuna. The cocktails were quite tasty as well. The mussels were good but not my favorite of our entrees. Overall a great vibe and great staff.
Laurann Barnes
Great date spot! Don’t leave without getting the key lime pie 😋 …
D. Henry Bestor
So this place is very unique for having a kitchen crew and service crew that like to have great time. They were dancing and joking around with each other and the customer service was fantastic. Just a great group behind the counter trying to do everything they can to give people a good experience. Me and my girlfriend absolutely did. Didn't have reservations but they actually worked to get us seats as quickly as possible. The food is amazing! The mussels were perfect, the rockfish was like butter, and the key lime pie was a great capper.
Lisa Conner
Ordered the oysters they came with no liquid in them completely dry with shell chips in them . Also had peel shrimp good. We had fnb basket they were good I had the stuffed pacific rock fish that was delicious! Staff was very friendly.
Jason San Souci
This place is a GEM! We started with the Red Snapper Ceviche and Wood Grilled Chesapeake Oysters… both were fantastic! We spilt the Crab Stuffed Rockfish; it was buttery, delicate and delicious. We split the main course because we had to have the Key Lime Pie. They claim it as “Denver’s Best” and we will have to agree. Normally, we don’t eat the crust, but it was practically a shortbread. 🤤 Oh, and the staff is amazing! We will definitely be back!
Matt Sprague
Possibly the best fish in Denver. Served straight from a wood fired grill, the rotating selection has yet to disappoint. Be sure to try the key lime pie for dessert.
Ben K
Buffalo Blowfish Tails? Yes! Excellent. Great happy hour.
Skyler C
Very good fish n beer. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves over some drinks and most of their happy hour selection. It wasn't what we first had in mind to get, but getting a variety of foods and cheaper oysters (both raw and cooked) seemed the way to play, and it's only available 5-6:30 certain days. If you want a brew and seafood, certainly imo the best pick.
The location is a little small inside but has outdoor seating in the back. The staff was very accommodating and I commend them, especially during covid, many businesses are struggling with good staff, or staff at all, and they did a good job.
Bron Sherrard
We had such an amazing experience at this restaurant last night! The grilled oysters and artichoke were out of this word delicious and great Spanish white wine. The service was top notch, and our server was very friendly and attentive. Five stars all the way! I have been here multiple times and every time I have been the food is absolutely perfect and the service is perfect as well. If you’re looking for an amazing restaurant with a great environment this is the spot.

Great Happy Hour from 5 to 6:30. Wonderful food and service. Highly recommend!
CJ Wright
Excellent oyster selection and preparation, great drinks, and awesome service. Scott described the oysters well and we ended up trying three, then ordering a dozen more. Also the best key lime pie I’ve had outside of south Florida. Definitely stop in here!
Drayshawn Turner
Oysters were amazing. The Bass was a 10. Overall this restaurant is a 10 to me. Great music too! This is actually my first google review. Had to get that off of my chest.
AL Woods
Really enjoyed this restaurant! We tried a few appetizers, drinks, and entrees and everything was amazing. The whole bass was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant
Arielle Ortmann
Honestly in love with this place. Best oysters in Denver. We have been so many times and never disappointed. Casual but upscale atmosphere with attentive, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Menu always has fun and new options!
Danny Derringer
Fish N Beer single-handedly changed my dismissive attitude toward eating seafood in this landlocked city and transported me to another place for a couple of hours. The location was cozy and lively, and the staff was gregarious and attentive. We lucked out making last-minute reservations to celebrate birthdays and left full and happy after our original plans serendipitously fell through.
After spending embarrassing sums of money on piles of oysters - both fresh and grilled, tuna guac of the sea, lobster macs, a whole Alamosa bass, fish N chips, and plenty of tasty adult beverages, we will be back to spend more embarrassing sums of money to explore the rest of the menu... and again after that. I don't think there's any other place quite like this in Denver.
The oysters were impressively fresh and well shucked. I recommend trying all of them to see which ones you enjoy the best and go from there. If raw isn't your style, all their grilled options are equally delicious.
Their Chips N Guac From the Sea was so much more than I anticipated. The tuna within was seared with a rare and tender interior, while the addition of ponzu gave it an awesomely citrusy kick I was not expecting.
Fish N Beer's lobster mac is a sight to behold. It's not simply mac 'n cheese with negligible bits of lobster tossed in there to live up to its namesake. It's a whole pound of lobster and tub of Devil butter alongside your creamy mac with a perfectly done top crust. If you're the type to flex your food pictures for clout - this is your entree. If you're the type to order the most indulgent entree on the menu, this is also your entree.
The whole grilled Alamosa bass took me back to working in the Caribbean, ordering the freshly caught fish I want at a local stand, then sitting at a table enjoying myself as I pick it clean off the bones. I was impressed with the evenly crispy skin and moist, tender fish on the inside. The chimichurri, potatoes, and sprouts served on the side were excellent as well. If you're not squeamish about your food looking recently deceased, or picking the occasional bone out of your teeth, this kind of dish is hard to find in these parts and is worth experiencing.
The fish N chips came out with two impressively sized battered and crispy filets atop a basket of nicely crisped fries. It easily rivals what I've seen made by actual Brits and appreciate that they serve malt vinegar with it to keep true to its roots.
I didn't get to try their only dessert, a Key lime pie, but wish I did. If there's already a fryer going, they should consider throwing their take on a deep-fried Mars bar onto the dessert menu and seeing how it does. It'd go perfectly with their theme and round out the desserts with another region's style of fare they're already serving (the fish N chips). Now you've got a classic chip shop dessert alongside a classic Floridian one.
This place is not cheap. Expect to easily spend $100+ per person if you're going to indulge in oysters, an app, an entree, and drinks. In this case, the price was 100% worth it. Hats off to the Fish N Beer folks, you've got something special going on here.
Kelly Grider
Do it. You won’t regret it. It is definitely pricey. It is also definitely 100% worth it. Food is phenomenal. But the atmosphere is what won us. Went here to celebrate an anniversary and we didn’t want to leave. The vibe is just so..... so good. Service was perfect. Lorenzo didn’t miss a beat. My only complaint is that the wine pours are a bit of a joke. I think my glass was maybe 3 ounces at most. This is the first and only meal I’ve had so far in Denver that was spot. on. And left me impressed, wanting to return ASAP. Bravo.
Ryan Hustana
The food was tasty and the atmosphere was trendy, basically what you’d expect from a Rino restaurant. The jambalaya was particularly delicious, and you can’t go wrong with the fish n chips. Be prepared to warm your vocal chords up for this place because the music and noise level is very high! Overall a good experience, I’d go back again.
Long Do
Friendly service, oysters were decent and the fish entrees wasn't to die for.
Remote Adjusting Services
Delicious food and attentive, helpful staff.
Torey Koltun
We had such an amazing experience at this restaurant last night! The grilled oysters and artichoke were out of this word delicious and great Spanish white wine. The service was top notch, and our server was very friendly and attentive. Five stars all the way!
David Claflin
First time here, came in for dinner. The fish and chips are unbelievable. Very fun atmosphere, I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!
Chris McDermott
Surprisingly good beer selection. Really delicious oysters. Tasty food - I tried the grilled artichoke, the fish and chips, and the sea bass jambalaya. The fish and chips was solid and exactly what one would expect. The service was outstanding. I'll definitely go back.
Julien Lavandier
The service was the best ive had in a long time. Our server was unbelievably attentive to us. The food was delicious. i recommend you make reservations as this place gets busy and other people have figured out this place is a total gem!
HaleandRobin Croom
Fun place. Seating out back was a good vibe. Lorenzo our server was great! Kudos Lorenzo.
Good selection of appetizers and entrees. A little high on pricing for what you get but food was delicious.
There were eight of us on 12 June around 7:00. We had a dozen oysters, an order of mussels and two orders of poached shrimp (served cold) for sharing as appetizers.
FNB Basket, the shrimp po boy and the rockfish were favorites. The Mexican shrimp cocktail didn’t go over as well.
We would do it again. Enjoy!
Jamey Shook
This was a beyond expected experience. From food quality, presentation and flavor this deserves more stars! The service was casually professional and the atmosphere matched. Recommend the Mexican shrimp cocktail app, Butter Lobster Roll and finish with the Key Lime Pie! Be back soon!
Alpoc W
Everything I ate was excellent. The flavors were all very good and complimented the fish very well. The fish was still allowed to be the main point in the dish and was not overshadowed by heavy flavors. I got mostly oysters but tried some other things. The oysters were all good and the muscle broth was very good. The fish fries, they were interesting. I would say they are like fish sticks but more natural. Little off putting at first but give them a shot. If i had one complaint it would be price but its sea food, Its rarely cheap and good. I'd like to go back when im no longer a broke college student.
vidal vazquez
If you're looking for great servers this is it! The chef made an amazing civeche. My only problem was its just weird to eat on a table you would see at a cookout for Easter and spend over $100s on a meal.
Kolina Koltai
On a Thursday night we were able to get seated quickly for happy hour. Solid menu. Had the mules which were delicious and came with little bits of candied Ginger (that I wanted more of). Tried nearly everything on the happy hour menu and got their special coconut cake. So definitely the oysters were great and the fish and chips. Mussels were amazing. I could drink that sauce. But the cake was one of the best slices I've had, and I'm not a big cake person. Totes recommend.
Kayla DeShon
Hands down my favorite place to eat in Denver. The food is out of this world, the drinks are super refreshing and delicious and the staff is always going above and beyond. If there’s a wait it’s worth your while to stick around, trust me. The happy hour oysters are seriously something I dream about. I would eat here every single day if I could!
Jay Scolnick
I've gone back to this restaurant several times. Its my favorite restaurant. My favorite dish is the Whole Fish. Its fun to watch the enthusiastic cooks make this fish over an open fire of wood. Wood is stacked in the corner of the restaurant as all of their dishes are cooked like a campfire. Their seasoning is amazing and the whole fish is really tasty. Always fresh. My wife loves their variety of mussels and oysters. Never a bad meal. Great staff.
Timothy Flood
My wife and I visited for happy hour, but we're going to have to come back for a full meal sometime. Happy hour here is great! Good prices on drinks and appetizers. The fish and beer appetizer certainly left me wanting more and I wish we had split a full portion instead. You gotta try the buffalo blowfish tails. For real, they're amazing.
Zachary Bissinger
Good food but small portions, especiallyfor the prices. I had the catfish dinner and I swear I got a third of a fried catfish fillet! Lobster roll was delicious but also dainty. The food was delicious and good drinks, but lots of other good options in town.
Jaymar Latchison
I arrived here for the first time on a Thursday night. I’ve always claimed to have loved seafood but this night it was actualized. From the Colorado Bass to the smelt to the king crab meat in the melted butter. Fish N Beer is full of taste and flavor. This entire meal was amazing. They seem to know that they are serving heaven from the ocean. I wish I would have taken photos but I was too hungry and after the first bite there was no more speaking. Come visit Fish N Beer and ignite your stomach to comfort and bliss.
Laura Pintar
Everything was really fresh, service was good.
The Scottish salmon was incredible! Definitely definitely get this. Perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned salmon with little gnocchi pillows and mushrooms beneath... Absolutely perfect.
The fra diavolo was okay. It was a really generous portion of mussels and shrimp, and the garlic bread was great! The pasta was the only down side, it wasn't fresh. It was slippery and untextured. It seemed to be dried mass produced stuff.
Will be back!
Jason Cannan
So good. My wife and I came in for date night right at the end of happy hour and ordered raw oysters and the beer and shot special while waiting to be seated. They came super quick and then we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The blackened scallop dinner special was the highlight and had the perfect kick to it. We were at the bar which is awesome because you're staring into the open kitchen. So much fun! Before leaving we had a glance at the patio where we're probably going to try to sit next time. It looked perfect.
Jonathan Glass
Wow, so impressed with this place! Every single bite tasted amazing. The service was on point, the music was perfect and we had the best time. Will definitely be coming back for seconds.
Suggestions: Any of the raw oysters are fresh and tasty and the grilled blue cheese and bacon oyster is a must try. The beats, bread and cheese was a surprising change to my normal order that I’ll get again and the crab cake will blow your mind. Yes, there’s corn it. Score!
James Lugg
Food cooked over an open flame, fresh seafood, great vibe. And beer, great microbrew offerings. I ordered two very tasty appetizers, the cod and the ribs. Washed it down with beer tastes that I had never experienced before. People were friendly and parking was easy. I'll be back, save me a seat at the bar!
Michelle Varall
Absolutely amazing! The guac from the sea was phenomenal! We also had the stuffed rock fish and the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was so tasty... we ate every bite!!! We will definitely be back!!
Angie Farmer
Found this place by accident while looking for somewhere close to Mission Ballroom. Got there about 5:45 and sat right away, by 6 it was packed with a wait. Delicious food, had happy hour drinks, oysters, clams, kale salad and the special, seared tuna with mushroom risotto, and it was all amazing! Dessert was like a zucchini bread sundae and holy cow, everyone needs it in their life! Wish it was closer, but absolutely worth the drive, we will be back!!
Matt Barnes
Bar-none, this is the classiest and tastiest fish place in Denver. Oysters are fresh, drinks are unique, and the employee's treat you like family. I will eat here as much as I'm able to over the next few years. 10/10 - 5 star + kinda place.
Dylan Koch
Excellent service, phenomenal seafood. Jamie is always a delight at the bar and with making reservations.
I have taken different groups of family members here a couple times and it never ceases to impress. On top of great quality food and cocktails, the price is very reasonable for seafood in Denver.
MIKE BLAST!
One of THE best seafood happy hours in the state and esp in the city of Denver. Great tasting selection of fresh seafood with simple yet eclectic preparation. Go right now....esp on Tue and ask to sit in Scott's section. He is hilariously necessary with cocktails.
Mike DuFresne
One of my favorite Denver restaurants. Great ambience, amazing service, and the food is really really solid. The menu is a but limited (to fish and a couple non-dishes) so definitely check that before going. Pretty good happy hour as well, and they do that all day monday.
Kymberly Himsel
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! Intimate atmosphere with personal service. The oyster selection and variations were just scrumptious and the melt-in-your mouth hushpuppies came with melted butter with crab meat. The fish was perfectly cooked and truly one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been to.
Cristina Molina
Go.... you won't regret it.... BEST salmon ever!
Natasha Fish
Outstanding. I didn't believe good seafood could be found in Denver, but I was proven wrong. The bass, pufferfish tails, grilled and raw oysters, king crab, peel n eat shrimp, and mussels were all to die for. Finishing an extravagant meal off with key lime pie was the perfect touch. Don't waste your time on any of the other mules: the Serrano tequila is hands down the best. Thank you Alex and your wait staff team for a 5-star experience!
Cari Bojanowski
Food and service were great. Happy hour menu has good variety and deals. Their ginger beer is homemade and amazing. The fried Fish melted in your mouth. My only complaint is the lobster roll could have more lobster.
Wim VanderZalm
Great wood fired smell when you walk in. The kale crab salad, the octopus and the oysters were awesome but the jambalaya was only marginal. A really nice atmosphere otherwise with a great vibe. The wine list could use a little attention as it was light on variety. Overall a nice experience
Mike Barbalacci
Had a number of things. The FNB basket was good. The usual. Just another fish and chip basket. I wish I could say better but realistically it's nothing to rave on. The jambalaya was seriously lame. Good but needs to be kicked up a notch. Oysters we're delicious and the grilled oysters we're really pretty good. Good selection of good craft beer. Also had a lackluster piece of bass (I know what you're thinking). Sorry, no excuse for overcooking ANYTHING and especially fish. First time there and very few people there. Most every employee standing around with nothing to do. I'll go back. I'm sure I'll find it better. If not, I'll go a third time. Hopefully it sticks.
Russ Duncan
This place is great; the food, service, ambiance, music...great music. I literally cannot stop getting their fish n chips. Both parties of this classic are incredible. Seriously some of the best I've ever had. They come with a small pour of a Mexican lager and a very tasty spicy slaw.
Brenda Bronson
Went to eat here using a Travelzoo voucher. Crowded but delicious food and friendly customers crowded together and friendly attentive servers when we got our table. Great happy hour food too!
Our kale salad had roasted butternut squash, Granny Smith apples, tri-color quinoa, spicy candies walnuts & blue cheese crumbled in a sesame-soy dressing! Delicious.
My scallops over creamy mushroom risotto and Tom’s whole grilled striped bass were both out of this world delicious!
We also had happy hour prices grilled oysters and beer while we were waiting for a table.
Cori Lark
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver! Their grilled oysters make a frequent appearance in Denver. Everything I've had on the menu is delicious—from the food to the cocktails.
Check them out on a Monday, they have happy hour all day!
Noah Geisel
In a land-locked state, it's usually tough to find great seafood outside of fine dining. Fish N Beer is an exception.
It has a big city, hole-in-the-wall vibe, with its open kitchen and long, narrow dining room. The wood burning fire grills are fun to watch from the bar stools (and keep you warm even if you're sitting by the door). In addition to a solid beer selection, they make their own ginger beer for Moscow Mules, featuring your choice of house-infused vodka, tequila, or gin.
The happy hour is top notch. Running 5-7pm and all night on Mondays, it offers a few bucks off of drinks and a food menu that includes $1 oysters, manageably sized fish & chips, and several other options (though they no longer offer their awesome seafood charcuterie board, perhaps they'll bring it back one day).
For as busy as they are, service is super fast and it must be a good place to work because I recognize staff that's been there for over 3 years.
I think this place is best enjoyed with 2-4 people. Booths are tiny and seating options for groups is limited (if you want to brave it with a group, probably a good idea to call ahead).
SJ McNeil
Scott is a very knowledgeable and friendly server! Top it off this place has the best, fresh seafood in Denver. I’m a native New Yorker and finally found an affordable, excellent spot!!
Lindsays A Happy Camper
Best Fish and Chips I've ever had. The oysters are also amazing. If you haven't been here why haven't you? You need to go now.
Bobbi Jo Eagleton
This place is fantastic! From the oysters (raw or grilled) to the lobster roll and jumbalaya...everything I have tried is unbelievably yummy. They make your clam chowder to order! Not to mention their AMAZING customer service. From being very helpful with questions on the menu, friendly and knowing how to treat their customers. I truly love this place. If you are looking for something with a lot of flavor, delicious and you like seafood, check this place out.
Dave Whitehurst
I really like this place. It's the perfect embodiment of east coast fish house with a Denver vibe. Excellent happy hour, solid drinks, and a great selection of oysters. Really it's about the oysters, and they have a great selection with proper accoutrements.
Kyle Long
Really amazing service and the food was good! I had the fish and chips and would happily get it again. My boyfriend had the salmon and gnocchi and it was also pretty good. The oysters have fun descriptions.
Kevin Croghan
Love, love , love. Food is always great. The staff always makes me feel welcome. Big ups to Naomi and her perfect hair, btw. Good atmosphere. Don’t be afraid to sit at the bar, it’s awesome to watch the chefs.
aaron isaacs
Third time here. Staff is always friendly and helpful, food is always awesome and the beer is choice. They also adhere to all the covid mandates which makes you feel much more comfortable. Awesome place give them your money.
Daran Thach
Great service and ambiance since the virus required distamcing. I enjoyed the quality presentation on the Alamosa bass with devil butter. Loved the juiciness.
Lastly, the FNB cod and fries/slaw was juicy, excellently portioned, and even came with a taster of lager that battered the fish!
Well priced for the FNB! I'll come back in a few months to enjoy the other entrees.
Orawan Sautter
Loved the happy hour deals here. Food was great and the drinks were even better. Everything on the happy hour menu was cheap yet you still got a decent amount of food. 5/5 recommend coming here for dinner/drinks before going to a concert at the mission ballroom.
Paul Motl
Great atmosphere and great food! Even better service! I left and got half way down the road and realized I left my wallet at the bar. I turned around and went back only to have the Manager, Jaime, standing out on the street with my wallet in hand. I can't say enough about this place! If you go once you'll definitely want to go back again. Absolutely fantastic!
Mika W.
This place is nothing short of amazing. The grilled house oysters were the freshest I’ve ever had and the dirty bird sandwich was literally the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life and I consider myself a chicken sandwich connoisseur. It is a small, quaint spot with an open fire wood grill when you first walk in. They have a nice happy hour as well. I’d highly recommend to anyone!
Lazarus C
This might be one of the best seafood spots in the metro. Really like the look & vibe. It's kind of old-school seafood shanty meets New England diner. They have a really interesting menu of which the crown jewel is an oyster bar with about a dozen+ different types. I can also highly recommend the blowfish tails. They were surprisingly out of this world. Service is casual but impeccable. If I had a complaint it's the prices. This a RiNo hot spot so it's hardly shocking. And seafood doesn't come cheap. A party of 2 are unlikely to escape with a bill under $60. And careful with the cocktails. I've had instances where I asked for something unusual and was charged nearly $15 after the fact. Don't get me wrong it's lovely. But like every other trendy joint in Denver get ready to fork over some 💸.
Jeremy
I have been to Fish and Beer twice now and would give the restaurant 5 stars, both times. The food was delicious and fresh. I am always a little hesitant with sea food in Denver but everything was delicious. Very friendly staff and cozy environment. Will absolutely go back.
Mark Johnson
Had some of the best fish here that I've had in Denver. The whole roast bass was divine. Crab Louie salad is craveably delicious. The service is top notch - every single person that works there is unbelievably firendly, helpful, and welcoming. This is one of those places I can see my self going back to again and again.
Reuben Levy
Superb lobster roll. We had the butter, not mayo style. Bbq oysters also outstanding. Staff were friendly and gave us a quick tour of their garden in the back.
Ty King
The bar is my favorite seat in the restaurant. Food is delicious and drinks are good. Highly recommend the whole bass; it's fantastic, with just a little heat from the chili lime butter. It can get crowded and a bit noisy, but most places in RiNo suffer the same issues if they're popular.
Erin Pierorazio
Megh. The ambiance and service were good. We ordered almost everything off of the HH menu and the peel and eat shrimp. They were all alright. Due to the small portion sizes of the HH food I was still starving after so we went next door got milkshakes. Prices are definitely high and honestly not worth it. Don’t think we will be back.
Logan Karsten
Went on a whim after work because I was tired and didn't feel like cooking. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, plus the staff is very welcoming. I ordered buffalo blow fish tails, which was very good, plus you get a nice portion of food to eat. I also ordered a Mayian Martini, which was superb. Definitely a hidden RiNo gem worth checking out.
Katie Casados
We found this place on Google. And I don't ever leave reviews but this place deserved one. From the food to the service, it was amazing. We sat at the bar and the head chef as well as the sous chef were hospitable the entire dinner service. Best oysters in town and best fish by far. Our server Oliver was amazing and welcoming. Can't say anymore great things about this place.
Isabel C
There are no words. 100 stars! Amazing food and service @fishnbeer_denver ! The best meal we've had in a long time. Phenomenal! I don't use that word often, but definitely PHENOMENAL! We sat at the counter! Highly recommended. These 3 chefs worked so well together to make each dish perfect in flavor and looks!! Made to order, fresh and delicious! Every staff member was out of this world friendly and fun! This South Fla girl misses her seafood, and NOW this is THE place to go. Wonderful place! A must when in Denver area!!! Not to be missed!!! THANK YOU @fishnbeer_denver !! Best Smelt Fish Fries ever!! We also loved the Crab in a Jar, FNB in a Basket (Fish n Chips), Three's Company Roll (lobster roll with shrimp & monkfish), and Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee.
Definitely will be back!
Amy Heilig
This place is great. We’ve dined in and ordered pick up two separate times. Both meals were superb. Fresh seafood and friendly, attentive service. A pescatarians dream!
Amy Ward
This place was ok. I think I'd hit it up for happy hour. The mussels and grilled house oysters were pretty damn good. The sauce in the mussels was flavored perfectly. We ordered the lobster roll and steak. The lobster roll was not very lobstery tasting. It tasted more like tuna fish. The steak was delicious and had a coffee rub on it. Brussel sprouts and fries were both undercooked. I think this place is solid for oysters and mussels.
Libby Hsiao
Just steps away from some fantastic bars and breweries, Fish N Beer is not to be missed if you enjoy seafood at all. As soon as we stepped into the buzzing electric space, we could feel the heat coming off the wood burning grill from the open kitchen.
The space is on the smaller side, so be prepared to knock elbows with some of the other patrons while you wait and enjoy a drink. The menu is small, but refined and there wasn't a single dish we got that failed to impress. This results in a bit of chaos for the wait staff and service can be a bit difficult to get the attention of.
The FNB basket was some of the best fish and chips I've had anywhere, and the grilled octopus and prawns, crab cake were all just spot on. The only slight slip was an overly sweet meringue topping on the key lime pie, which detracted from a very well executed lime curd custard. The fine folk here can count on repeat visits when I'm in the neighbourhood!
Audrayah Brunson
My husband and I just happened upon this restaurant a couple weeks ago and not only was the food delicious, our waitress was so sweet and fun!
I had the buffalo fish tails and my husband had the crab cakes...both dishes were so yummy! We will definitely be back!!!
Dunbar The fish machine
I agree with some others on the reviews this place deserves a 1000 star rating. Alex our waiter was great on his suggestion on his favorite cocktail. The Friday walleye fry was amazing.
Chris Rosenau
Amazing great tasting fresh food. Best kale salad I have ever had and I don't usually eat kale. Service is quick and responsive. Love the open cooking over a real fire.
Maggie Fryke
The quietest corner of Larimer street with epic $1/raw oyster happy hour deal on Fridays. This week they had a featured blood orange minnionette that was to die for! Scott has been around each time we've been in and is an amazing soul to chat with if you get the chance. Highly recommend for an impromptu Friday night date night with your honey or dinner with friends. Casual vibes with amazing oysters, a hard find in our beautiful land-locked state 😉
Kimberly Payne
The service was attentive despite the busyness. We had the happy hour $1 oysters and the battered fish and fries. It was so fresh and tasty, I will definitely be back!
Ronald Gagnon
When your not in the mood to go out, interact with people, smile for that matter, then go here. The staff, food and atmosphere breathes life into the community and gifts smiles to faces with great vibes and amazing cuisine. Solid.
Seth Sinclair
Oysters, both raw and grilled were fantastic. The mussels were great. Fast, knowledgeable, and attentive staff, especially for a busy place. We will definitely be back.
Jason G
90 minute wait for food that was perfectly fine but nothing special. Great oysters, nothing else stood out. Good beer selection. You won't be disappointed here but you might not be impressed.
Mykol Fischer
Ok... my sister turned me on to this please for the ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR on Monday. The experience was beyond amazing. Alex our server was exceptional. Watching your food being made in front of you.... that is what made us change our HH menus to the Lobster Mac N Cheese.... and let me tell you not regrets where made. Great job Fish nBeer
Janyce Brandon
Fish and beer! Just like it says, great options, cool atmosphere. Nice taps, and affordable plate options. Can't wait to try more dishes, the fish and chips are contenders for best in denver, if my chips were more crispy it'd be an easier answer. Had the sea bass and asparagus, was a great pair with a Saison or wit.
Meghan Bookmiller
Cute boutique fish joint. Good cocktails. Highly suggest the guacamole and tuna appetizer!!
K Mocha
These simple oysters look simple but they’re absolutely THE HIGHLIGHT of the night. So fresh and so decadent-ly made with all those crazy burst of flavors that hit me so unannounced. The Colorado bass fish was also genuinely fished from our grand state. I devoured all the kale cause I’m about that green life. The bar is also an open set upbar and their margarita was so well and freshly made. Yo como Mexicana yo aprobó de esta bebida 😋 !! Thank you to the staff for taking care of me and my boyfriend, we had a great time and will be back soon with smiles on our faces anticipating to eat more! PS hush puppies will sweep you off your FEET ❤️
Robert Fox
Our meal got off to a great start with the fried calamari special which the waiter strongly recommended. It was all rings of squid, lightly breaded, very hot and fresh, and with a nice kick. The squid was very tender and the breading was perfect. The accompanying rémoulade was OK, but far from the best I've ever tasted. I also ordered three varieties of West Coast oysters. These were also delicious and tasted very, very fresh. The accompanying cocktail sauce with a dab of fresh horseradish went with them quite nicely.
Unfortunately the next item we tried, the hush puppies, was awful. The cornbread balls were dry as a desert, tasteless, way over breaded, and fried far too long. The accompanying crab butter was odd. There was way too much crab and far too little butter, so it was impossible to successfully dip the hush puppies in this. I had to resort to cutting the hush puppies into pieces, then trying to spoon (no actual spoon provided, though) some of the crab onto them. So, the dish was awful and I had to fight with it. The crab butter was flavorful, though.
The crab cake was something of an improvement. It contained a lot of crab and was reasonably tasty, but somewhat under seasoned. It was also soggy. I don't understand the current trend of making crab cakes with virtually all crab. I generally want a crab cake, not a pile of crab meat. Adding some bread crumbs, perhaps a few chopped vegetables, and a little binder allows the kitchen to produce a crispy result which tastes much better to me. This also reduces costs a bit. Win-win in my view.
We then made the big mistake of ordering the smelt fries. These were absolutely encased in a very thick breading and were very soggy. The tartar sauce seemed made in-house and was very good. I was disappointed that the waiter was not more forthcoming about the downsides of the menu as, in conversation after the fact, he clearly understood that some items were better than others. He made no effort to ask about the items we mostly did not eat.
We ended on a high note with Antonio's Rich Ass Cake which was a very dense flourless chocolate cake served on a bed of whipped cream. This was almost the consistency of fudge and was very rich and very tasty. Unfortunately I am allergic to nuts so we ordered the candied walnuts on the side. My date said they added a wonderful sweet and crunchy note to the dessert.
There were some interesting items on the wine list and I had two glasses of a New Zealand sauvignon blanc (Fire Road). The wine was great and went very well with the food. My date is not a big fan of white wine, but even she liked it. Unfortunately the portion size was really, really small. The wine looked lost in the bottom of the glass. I thought this was stingy.
The space is cute with a nice bar area including a communal counter, one larger table, and a long row of booths. There also seemed to be extensive picnic table seating at a secluded patio in the back. Our meal had several high points, but I wish things had been more consistent.
Susie Peterson
Fish N Beer never disappoints! We've been going there since they opened and we've always had amazing food, drinks and service. This place is truly a gem!
Tim Koehler
They brought the oyster happy hour back which will make me return more often! Finally got to try the lobster Mac for my birthday too, can’t recommend enough!!
Tony Aug
Maybe the best fish and chips place that is more than a few miles from an ocean. And it’s quite far from an ocean.
Megan Taylor
Loving this place! Been twice in one week. Great seafood... Best oysters I've had in Denver! Great beer list! AMAZING service!
Jesus Chacon
Let’s start off with the Atmosphere. I loved it the music it was on point the food was amazing Super tasty. Our waiter also amazing. I did not like is our host besides that it was an amazing experience

Hostess forgot about me and we had to wait an hour instead of 30 min. After that however, we got excellent, quick service with no complaints on food. I have been told organizing the door has been an issue for them. Great problem to have, too many people want your food.
Mitch Walker
Love this spot! They've raised their prices recently - not sure if that's a result of covid or not, but I hope so. It used to be a quaint little seafood joint with a great HH, but they seem to be trying to be fancier and more expensive. Hope to see a return to the old ways in the spring.
Heather Buonsante
Food 5 stars, atmosphere 3. Outside area could use a spruce up
Kyle Little
Review is for BurroRito which is temporarily taking the place of Fish N Beer. Really tasty and quick. Reasonable prices. I would go pretty frequently if this ends up being a permanent fixture.
James Douglas
I only came here because of my man Trey and now I'm hooked! Excellent food and service. Great environment with quality everything. The brunch menu is definitely something to try. I highly recommend!
Michael S
Great happy hour! Service is friendly and drinks are delicious! So many options to choose from. The jambalaya needed some sort of seasoning but was very well portioned.
Pete Stapleton
I had the Lobster & Mac and chs. IT WAS FANTASTIC. A whole lobster and a side of m&c. Wonderous.
Jean C
Amazing food and awesome service. The raw oysters were fresh and delicious. Husband said the steak was fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Samuel Fairchild
Great staff and amazing food. Grab a seat at the bar to get warm by their grill and see all the food being made. The Buffalo Blowfish Tails are unique and delicious!
Daniel Bruns
I love this place. Cozy and trendy, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is trendy--very RINO compatible. The food was very good. Reminded me of home cooking.
Sarah Fullerton
One of my favorite happy hours in Denver.
Carl Kaase
great food, I love oysters!
Kreighton Bieger
Fun spot. Definitely worth a stop - we waited a while and killed time at the decidedly retro Embassy Tavern across the block.
Lean into the smelt fries.
Gene Anderson
Small but with Big Service. I recommend sitting at the Bar, you'll be entertained by the Cooks as they openly prepare your meal right in front of you.....👍🏽😊💯 …
James
Best fish n chips in Denver!
Susan Ekblade
Really enjoyed this hip little spot. Fresh seafood. Open kitchen and phenomenal service. I mean, PHENOMENAL! Cute back patio too. One need - air. With the open fire and summer temps, it was HOT inside.
Casey S
Smelt fries from Michigan take me back. Whole atmosphere is great. Cat fish and whole fish dish were like making my eyes roll back in my head. So good!
Dustin Eagleton
This place is not only the best oysters in town but hands down best restaurant!!! Fantastic service and Mac is the an amazing bar tender if your looking for great food and a fun place you can relax and enjoy a meal try this place out there #1 in my book
Alexander Lloyd
Amazing food experience. Everything we got was great: Fish n Chips, Smelt Fries, Oysters, Shrimp. Also was a pretty hipster bar: girls wearing glasses, alternative music, etc...
Elee Gregory
I used to be skeptical of ordering seafood in landlocked Colorado, until this place!!! Amazing oysters, top-of-the-line service, and a warm cosy atmosphere perfect for any occasion. Worth the visit!!!
Alex Pick
Fun atmosphere with incredible food and super friendly people. One of our favorite denver restaurants - great music always, and an awesome menu!
Val Beygel
Great food and service. Local restaurant doing things right.
Tara Duke
I was worried that a place called 'Fish N Beer' wouldn't have high quality fish, but I was so wrong and their lobster roll tastes like ones I get on the east coast! I would definitely recommend.
Aaron McD
Delicious, un-pretentious takes on seafood in a cozy-yet-modern setting. And in Denver?!? I bring my out of town (and local) friends here for a pleasant surprise, and I plan to return again and again.
Sean Maxwell
Honestly I wasn't impressed with the food at all (though we didn't get any oysters) given the price.
The staff was polite however.
Jason Sulen
Elite smelt. Awesome music. Great service. Lobster Mac is the best in town.
Devin Sandoz
What a place! Truly a fantasy of creative seafood and beer. They pay attention to the details, and anywhere I can get smelt fries, jambalaya and a lobster roll (not all at once) is my version of heaven.
Ron McKey
Great fresh seafood. From oysters thru mussels. Fries are delicate and prepared to your order. Mussels and broth were garlic heaven. Treat yourself to perfection
John Lee
This restaurant is like the coolest kid on your block when you were growing up. Who had great taste. And you wanted to be their sidekick.
Bill D
The food was yummy. Was a little disappointed by the fra diablo, as the name means hot as the devil and the dish had absolutely zero spice. More like a pomodoro.
wykeen armstrong
This was a fabulous dining experience. The food was outstanding. The music was great. The drinks were on point. The service was superior and very fast for upscale food.
Julia Rosenthal
Alex, our server was awesome; personable and knowledgeable. He knew his seafood and made great recommendations! Great service and atmosphere. I'll be back!!!
John Pie
Can't wait to go back for a second time. Great raw and baked oysters and other items in the HH menu. Looking forward to trying large plates off main menu
Jeff Steel
Food from the restaurant was spot on, but don't sit across the street at Rino Eats to eat your meal. Hornets buzz you and your food, and the bench seats and tiny tables made the rest of this experience miserable.
Eat at the restaurant, or go elsewhere.
Ryan Tierney
Great new spot in RiNo, although on a hot summer days the dumpster in the back can get a bit smelly and flies attacking you and your food. But besides that being out of their control, I really enjoyed their happy hour :)
Patrick Faulks
Excellent service. Great food. Happy hour to boot. Had oyster sliders, lobster roll, raw oysters. All fantastic.
Qween Leo
Was craving some fish one night found this little place downtown I've never tasted such delicious bass in my life would definitely go back with friends

Eugene D. Howard
Dinner was fantastic and service was great. Can't wait to come back, especially for the Key Lime pie!
Kim Knowles
This place is really awesome and if not for the price I would have given it 5 stars. I understand that Seafood is expensive so I'm definitely not condemning them for having the prices that they do, it's just not somewhere that I would be able to afford on a regular basis.
Grant Carley
Friendly, attentive and delicious....i could make a meal of the smelt fries....buffalo blowfish -hadda try it - may not be able to come back without those too! then i took a chocolate mouse and toffee pastry home OMG Aneidra runs a tight ship - spot on!!! cudos
