Absolutely recommend! This is a thin-crust wood fired pizza shop with a lot of locally sourced goods. Check out the menu items to see how many toppings are local. We ordered a “boat” (1/2 pizza) for the kiddo and it was perfect. We also ordered the “chef’s choice” pizza and … wow! They have Ohio beers (in cans) and local-made soda. It’s a small space with a welcoming feel. Highly recommend. In the words of my daughter “that was the best pizza ever!”

The absolute best pizza I’ve had in a very long time!!!! If you aren’t a picky eater I HIGHLY recommend getting the chef’s choice. The thin crust pizza was perfectly cooked with the most prestigious amount of crust bubbles. I don’t know exactly what was on my pizza, but the most gracious combination of flavors from pepperoni and what I believe was truffle oil, paired with a perfect amount of spice was what was gifted to me on this fine, 70 degree Tuesday evening. Great selection of local beers and wine! Welcoming, intimate atmosphere, very friendly and personable staff, and all around amazing experience. Will be daydreaming about that pizza for weeks!

Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Another great spot thats rarely full. Pizza slightly pricey but soooooooo dang delicious. Its thin crust brick stove oven pizza. I usually am not a fan of thin crust but man they do a good job. I reccomend always get the chefs special. Definitely a good date spot. Going back again with my wife and will be back with many friends. Check it out.

Stumbled on this place for lunch today while I was around the corner for a training. The whole menu looked good & I couldn’t decide so I just got the chefs choice. The owner was the chef and he made me the most delicious pizza and really made sure I had an awesome experience. He took time to just just chat with me and since I was there by myself I really appreciated. Amazing food, owner is a great person and I want to bring all my friends and family there to check it out !!!

Delicious wood fired pizza and friendly service. Simple menu and alcohol available. They offer a chef's choice which is whatever the chef feels like throwing together for you. Through the back there is a large rustic vibe patio on the back with a huge shade tree, plenty of seating, and unique car decor. The patio is also dog friendly. There is also indoor seating. Somehow our order got taken as pepperoni in the pizza instead of the peppadew peppers 🤷 still good, just not what we were expecting.

Pizza left me short of words . Although it made me sing a song . I think it was ice ice baby . That’s how good this pizza is , it will make you sing lol . New York style , brick oven is my go to . My first time visiting this business was a few days ago . And I’ll be making it a weekly thing . Last thing . The vibes in this place is super chill . I felt the love soon as I walked in .

From Jersey and finding a decent spot is hard to come by..BUT THIS PLACE HIT THE SPOT! Very pleased with the size,sauce, and the crust was definitely my favorite. Perfect sharing size and the cheesy bread was delicious as well! I’m very pleased with goremade pizza. The owner was inviting and friendly and the staff was super kind as well! Definitely will be back to enjoy the space and patio area.

SUPER YUMMY SPOT!) ' Wanted to get out of my town and take a trip for a bite. This place was Perfect! Great parking, the ambience is gorgeous, along with the food! The craft cider went perfect with a suggestion from the Chef and me and my guest were very happy and will most def go back! Apparently there is a patio I missed ( cuz the beautiful wood benches in the entry were too inviting), so I will be sure to check it out the next time!) Cheers and tip well🤙💯👍

This place is the best! Recommended to us by vendors at the farm market , where we see this business owner regularly, we are in love. The ingredients are high quality and so fresh. We are vegetarian and we have soooo many choices! It's the really thin crust that falls down when you pick it up, and the edges have just the perfect crunch! The toppings are in small pieces, so you get them in every bite, it's all just the way we like it! It's pretty casual and very friendly and the back patio is kinda great! Oh and always get the garlic bread!!!! There's wine and beer too!

Look at this beauty of a pizza! The crust is super thin, I love the char from the wood fire and the ‘roni cups are on point. I usually don’t love pepperoni but these are delish and crisp. I wish the bottom was a little crispier but I’ll cut some slack since I got it to-go. Overall, a very good pie and everyone was so friendly. I’d get one pizza per person if you’re hungry. Will definitely come back and try the chef’s choice.

They have a huge wood/coal fired oven. Pizza was delicious! I was pleased with how delicious the sauce tasted upon my first bite--not overseasoned but certainly flavorful. Perhaps simply the quality of the ingredients 🤔🤷🏾‍♀️. The pepperoni and sausage taste delicious. I will say, that the flour on the bottom, likely to execute the maneuver from peel to oven was slightly overcharred. This may not be a consistent thing, could just be a heavy-handed flour day. Other than that, great experience! It seems to be a neighborhood type of place with regular customers. I went at an off time (~3:30pm), so we were the only people in there, but many people got pick-up orders. The pizzas will run about $15 each for a 2 topping 12 inch, but I wouldn't say it was overpriced. The pizza is incredibly thin, not a problem for me, but it is the standard there. I would eat there again.

Yet another religious pizza experience. I found this place after cross-referencing reviews here, on reddit, and bar stool.. Definitely did not disappoint. We were able to grab a table as soon as we walked in.. On a Saturday night, not bad at all. Menu is simple and to the point, daily specials are posted on the boards. My wife and daughter went with the simple pizza and I opted for the chef's special. Was really impressed that it's literally whatever that particular chef feels like making! I told em I wasn't picky and liked spicy! They delivered big time. The base is very thin and soft/floppy. The crust is firm, yet soft and toasted. We also split a simple salad. Nothing to call home about but the balsamic was on point. Would eat here 100 times again!

10/5/2022 - Once again and again and again...Goremade Pizza is still the best in Columbus. My wife is from NY and travels to Italy and completely agrees! 1. Pepperoni & Banna Peppers 2. Annie's pizza, bacon caramelized onion, mushrooms olive oil and parmesan cheese. Cooked to perfection! Another visit, another fabulous pizza. 05/13/2022, the best pizza in Columbus, if only there were 6 stars. Absolutely best pizza! This is a must visit!

Friendly and helpful staff. Our 1st time here and we chose the chefs special pizza. He asked a few simple questions to deliver a pizza that was delicious and nothing we would have chosen before! We will return! The salad was ok, loved the local beer choices, pizza crust was light, airy and cooked to perfection.

Cool environment, good beer selection, great toppings, but the crust was just too chared for our liking. I don't think it was a 1 off issue as we ordered 4 different pizzas and garlic bread/pizza. The char flavor was so strong it overpowered the great ingredients used. It's all we could taste and only got more prominent as leftovers.

My favourite pizza in Columbus. Excellent leoparding on the crust, great balance of flavours and ingredients. Good beverage selection - small but solid menu of cocktails and beers. Vibes: awesome outdoor patio in the back. They also have wifi if you wanna hang out and work on a laptop while drinking a beer.

Finally went and tried Goremade on Friday 01/22/21. Been on my list of cbus pizza places to try for a while and I was inspired by the pizza bracket going around Columbus blogs. Ordered a 12" Clintonvillain, 12" sausage and carmelized onion, and a 12" pepperoni, sausage, and carmelized onion. Total was $46 which isn't too bad for specialty wood fired pizza. Overall the pizza was tasty, sauce seemed basic but flavorful - likely San Marzano tomatoes blended/cooked. Toppings were very good, pepperoni was definitely Ezzo cup and char, which is a staple in the Columbus area. Sausage might have been from Ezzo as well. Onions were carmelized very well. Their dough is flavorful albeit a bit on the thin side for the price point, but because of it being sort of thin they're able to get a nice crisp and a little char on the crust and bottom. My main issue is the lack of cheese on the pizza. I had to add cheese myself when I got home, which is ridiculous for what they're charging for a 12". Look everyone loves pizza and I totally understand why they balance the weight of cheese and toppings with the thickness of the dough so that they can slide it off the peel into the oven without it sticking, but more cheese please. Looking at the other photos of the pizza it appears they're pretty consistent with the amount of cheese they put on their pizzas, I just think it's not enough. Definitely a good pizza place for wood fired style, overall I rate it a 4.7 with the additional cheese I added, but a 4.5 without. Since google doesn't allow decimal reviews I rounded up to a 5.

Every February, my friend, Jonathan, embarks on a pizza-a-day food tour. To help him kick off his 2020 adventure, I joined him at GoreMade Pizza, a pizzeria known for its use of locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant is small, but the pizza is big on flavor. A customer may either choose a suggested pizza off the menu, or a customer may create one, choosing from a variety of toppings, including seasonal ingredients. I had a gluten free crust with red sauce, pepperoni, and sausage. The gluten free crust was a little crumbly, but the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I will be back.

Went for lunch and got the lunch chef special boat with side salad. Balsamic vinaigrette dressing was fantastic! The pizza was delicious. The chef came out and talked with me about how he created my pizza, which really helped make the experience much more personal. The pizza was absolutely amazing, flavors I would never have thought to put together that perfectly balanced each other. The wait staff was friendly and quick. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great wood fired pizza.

Great pizza, great hospitality. We visited toward end of service, but staff was extremely welcoming and eager to talk pizza. The dough was extremely fresh and tender, with just enough structure. Pies needed just a minute in the scorching wood oven! Ramp pesto gets me every time. The chef's special was a kaleidoscope of awesome flavors. Get some!

I wanted to try a new restaurant while a friend was in town so we biked over for a weekday lunch. Sadly, for the first week in October, it was in the NINETIES so we were hot and gross by the time we arrived. To spare the other patrons from our grossness, we removed ourselves to the back patio and were shocked to discover that even in the overwhelming heat and humidity- it was very pleasant! We sat under the shade of a gorgeous basswood tree, and soaked in the eclectic decor while enjoying adult beverages and a great pizza! Positives: 1. Open for lunch on a weekday! 2. GREAT PIZZA with plenty of options! 3. GREAT specialty drinks! 4. Beautiful brick and hardwood interior. 5. Huge patio with lights, and a large shade tree! 6. Friendly staff that didn't mind us loitering at our table for a couple hours to enjoy our drinks and conversation. Negatives: 1. Not much space to park a bike, we had to partially block the sidewalk out front. 2. ... ... ... Seriously can't think of any other negative. I mean it isn't a cheap pizza joint, but I feel like the pizza and drinks were well worth the price!

Locally owned and very casual firewood oven pizzas. Hand tossed dough with gluten free options available as well. Just great pizza with easy-going staff and a selection of craft beer, wine and soft drinks. The back patio is huge and a great place to relax and enjoy.

Their Gluten Free pizza is the best in the city, yo. Don't bother with the other pizzerias around the city with soggy, rice-based gluten-free pizza. This crust has NO allergens. So it is perfect for families with food sensitivities. I ordered carryout and it was not a soggy mess like other crusts. Plus, it reheats like a dream. This place is perfect for a cozy winter night. Why you ask? Because the pizza is made in a wood fired oven right before your eyes and made with fresh ingredients. Plus at Nick (pictured) the owner's vision it has a early 1900's feel and no tv.

Very nice atmosphere. Parking was easily found. I do love true wood fired pizza. I had the garlic bread and the Clitonville white pizza. The issue with me is that the charred parts of the pizza overwhelmed the other flavors. I just tasted burnt with a little bit of mushrooms. The pizza needed flavors that can cut through char. I did like the place but I walked out having spent $50 for two pizzas and garlic bread. The 2nd pizza was a carryout.

Got the cheese pizza and chefs choice, wasn’t a huge fan of the chefs choice but the cheese pizza was very good. Due to the pizza being delivered I assume, the pizza had a lot of flop and was not crispy but the sauce had a very nice flavor and tang and the mozzarella was delicious. Would recommend trying the pizza at the restaurant instead of delivery as delivery is mediocre for it to be crispy.

THIS PLACE IS FREAKING AWESOME. Hands down best pizza shop in Columbus, and we have tried them all. Did two chef specials, which is awesome because they on the spot create whatever pizza they are feeling. The chef comes and talks to you when they deliver the pie explaining all the toppings they used. We also stayed an extra hour or more JUST talking to the owner and bartender. The staff is so awesome and full of love. Highly recommend!!!!!!

When I moved to the area, I googled pizza, and found this neighborhood joint. I was drawn in by the creative artisanal menu, so I ordered the cleverly named "Clintonvillain" and loved it. When a hankerin' came again in a week or so, I looked at the menu again, and saw "Chef's Choice", so I rolled the dice. In the last 6 months or so, I've had maybe 10 pizzas since that first one, it's been "Chef's Choice" every time, and I been delighted each time. These are creative people who love making a great pie, and the folks in the restaurant are super chill (including the clientele, at least in my experience). Go check it out, it's a lovely place.

Excellent hand made pizza. We had the chef's special and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow, but I cut them some slack as this is definitely a better quality pizza. I will ding one star on value for price paid. While I loved the pizza, the amount we got for the price was on the low end. Definitely a place you go for quality, not necessarily quantity.

I drive past GoreMade pizza often and decided to go in for the lunch special (half pizza and half salad for $10). The menu is fairly small but everything looked good. I was intrigued by the Chefs Choice. It's as the employees that worked there called it "a pizza trust fall". Essentially the chef makes you a pizza however he/she wants. You can specify what you don't want or do want and they take it from there. The only thing I didn't want was sausage. I ended up with a pizza with a butternut squash sauce, mozzarella, red onion, red pepper, bacon, roasted salt and pepper potatoes, and curried apple. The curried apple scared me a bit (since I don't care for curry much) but there were delicious. All in all, it was a great combination on a perfectly cooked crust. The salad was mixed greens with some grated cheese and house made ranch. Simple, but also really good. The staff is super nice. Definitely plan on going back and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun pizza experience.

I'm originally from Chicago and I'm struggling to find a good pizza place. I tried for the first time and ordered the chef's special and cheese bread. The pizza was ok it was various peppers on a really thin crust. It felt as if I was eating Naan. Wasn't impressed especially for the price but may try a different pizza to see if it's better.

This could be the best pizza I’ve ever had. It’s the first time I’ve ever eaten a whole pie and not felt gross. The owner grows a lot of his ingredients and it shows. The price is higher because of it but I think it’s justified so I’m more than willing to pay it.

Everything tasted so good!! I got the chef's choice pizza, local soda (something cardamom?) and ginger ice cream. Great customer service. Pretty cool seeing them make the pizza and stick it in the oven right in front of you too.

Great atmosphere, great staff and service. More importantly, the pizza was fantastically great! Only down side, and this is just a personal thing for me. Not enough selection for salad dressing. I don't like ranch, and the balsamic vinegar dressing was very strong and overpowering! Would be nice to see a house Italian.

Have had this place many times. Bottom crust is always super flimsy. They have good toppings though and pizza has a nice flavor. It'd be better if charred just a little so you had that flavor and a little crunch to the bite like a normal wood fired pizza. They serve beer to go. They also have seasonal toppings, only way to find out what they are is to call them or go to the place so it'd be nice if they would post the current toppings on social media or something. Also recommend 1 normal pizza per person....it is 8 slices but trust me....they are super light....my 100 pound girlfriend can eat an entire one (I think I could eat 2 of them). Check it out though!

Amazing pizza from a local guy who just loves what he does. The owner sat and talked with us about his business and was just an awesome, down to earth guy who makes some amazing pizzas. They have some crazy options for toppings. Trust them on the chef's choice pizza (where one of the "chefs" just makes you something). You'll enjoy it. The regular pies are just as good. This place tries to locally source all of the ingredients they use and get them from local markets, for anyone who is into those things. The prices are a bit high, but the quality makes it well worth it. Sundays are a all-you-can-eat style taster where they just keep making random pizzas for 20 bucks. Go here. You won't regret it.

Every aspect of their pizza is incredible. The red sauce is not overly spiced but full flavored. The crust pairs perfectly with the hot oven to make an outstanding base of the pizza. The locally sourced ingredients ensure fresh toppings and salads. Most importantly the staff is great. If you came here during opening week like I did then it's time to come back for a second helping. While it was good then, it's even better now. My main gripe was the crust (too doughy, too sweet) but they have improved the recipe significantly. Our most recent visit was on a "Pizza Sunday" with all you can eat pizza and salad for $20. We tried 7 different types of pizza and all were delicious. Staff has always been super friendly and helpful. All in all great pizza, great staff, great experience. Check it out!

While walking down 4th St on a vacation from Pennsylvania, we stopped in for some food while on a brewery tour. Very comfortable, personal environment. Owner is absolutely amazing and truly seems to be a good human. Got the chefs choice pizza made by the owner himself and was honestly impressed. Taste, texture, and smell were off the charts! Owner asked about likes and dislikes of ingredients to make sure he made the best pizza for our palettes. An amazing experience from pizza and beer to atmosphere. Went with a group on a Saturday night and walked in about a half hour before close. The staff were really nice though about still accomodating us. Sat at the counter and watched the pizzas being made. I got the Porkistopheles and split it with a buddy. It was good! Cost $16. Thin crust, locally sourced ingredients, felt good after eating it. Since it was just before close, the place was pretty empty, which allowed us to have a great conversation with the bartender about family and religion. Guess they have all you can eat pizza and salad for $20 on Sunday from 5pm to 9pm. This is one of those places where your dollar doesn't get you as much food as perhaps more cheaply priced pizza places, but it isn't supposed to. In this case, money spent equals more quality.

The first thing to know is that they make these pizzas to order, so be prepared for a wait. But the pizzas are so worth the wait! The crust is chewy, crunchy, and what you'd expect from a freshly thrown pizza. The butternut squash sauce is amazing. Their truffle mushroom pizza is maybe my favorite in Columbus. I went here with my friends for happy hour for my birthday. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate us, and they were ready for us when we arrived! The pizza was delicious, and the drinks were good too. The buy 3 drinks and get a free pizza happy hour special was great, although some of the drinks were overpriced (eg. $5 for a can of Rhinegeist Bubbles). There were only a handful of other people in the restaurant besides us, so the service was quick and attentive. However, our server seemed to be in a bad mood - she didn't smile once. Nick, who I'm guessing is the owner, was very conversational with us and helped make it a great experience. Overall, it was worth it, and we will definitely go back!

I was there with my daughter, grandkids and 8 month old great granddaughter for the opening on Tuesday night. All of us enjoyed eating, drinking and watching the dance of pizza makers and servers around the massive wood-fired pizza oven at the center of this cozy place. Each pie was deliciously made with wonderful, fresh ingredients and served directly to the excited customers (or should I say applauding audience). Tasted so good! The local craft beers I drank were a perfect complement. Adults and kids seemed to really enjoy their respective age-appropriate mixed drinks and sodas. If I remember correctly, the hours posted on the door are 5 pm until 🙂 Tuesday-Sunday.

It's easy to miss GoreMade Pizza. There's a white, unobtrusive logo on the side of their brick building, so if you're not careful you may just drive right on by. It is super easy to mistake this place for some former gallery space -- in this neighborhood near OSU's campus. But peek through the giant glass windows and you'll be struck by a giant gray oven and a tall, hipster named Nick standing beside it working his magic. Of course, we don't really associate gourmet with pizza typically, but that is really what his pizzas are... the pies at GoreMade feel so masterful. The bread is just amazing. It's crispy when it needs to be crispy, it's rich and sour with a fermented kick from the natural levain starter. It's got those little char bubbles, yum! But the difference isn't just the crust, which is obviously made with love....and not just because the sign says so. The difference is the owner Nick, and true pizza artisan, who is creating these round masterpieces of amazingness. He focuses on locally sourced, fresh ingredients and if you are daring, which you really should be, try the Chef's Choice and you'll start thinking that all this creativity and passion could maybe earn the owner a 5-star fine dining restaurant rating somewhere in the future! If you get a chance, don’t miss stopping by this quaint, intimate restaurant for an experience you won't soon forget!
