(5/18/2022) The Metropolitan was good, not great. Nice space. Had an early dinner (5:30 p.m.), sat at the bar, felt like we were an imposition, asked if there was a “Happy Hour”, were told in a “matter of fact” way that there was (no HH menus are made available thus the reasonable question), while we were still in the middle of our dinner we were asked if we were ready to see the desert menu (NOT), had the Tuna Poke and the Crab Cakes. The bartender needs to launder her shirt and to remember how she gets paid (we were two of four people @ the bar, obviously this is far too many customers to handle for this individual. Three stars is being nice. Based on this experience we will not return.

Finally some proper food! It's not easy finding big salads around here. I got the Met Saled with chicken added a herb vinaigrette and a balsamic reduction. So delicious! Ordered brussels for my starter, which were super flavorful. Even my son's burger and fries were great. I will be ordering from here regularly.

Nice atmosphere. Went in for lunch and had the wedge salad and soup of the day. The soup was chorizo corn chowder, was really good but was served at a warm temperature. The wedge was crisp, loaded with cheese. Only half the bacon was cooked to my liking and the other half was just chucks of bacon fat. This was just an average lunch could have been better.

We went to a dueling pianos performance that was an absolute ball! Our server was hustling but had too many tables to service well. The food here is just never very good. This is our third time eating here and it is just not very good. We got sodas and they tasted watered down. We ordered a brownie and it was pretty good but barely any ice cream to go with it. Pretty skimpy.

Good bar and good drinks, good venue for large events. Bartenders are a bit slow, sorry guys but I was a bartender and could have served that bar about 10 times faster without ignoring anyone. They were nice people, though and friendly, otherwise, so I really can't take anything away from them, otherwise. I'd go back and enjoy.

Their cosmo martini is amazing! Excited to experience their New Year's Eve event! Check out their website for details. The menu sounds delicious. Also their desserts are as appealing to the eyes as they are to the taste buds. If you want to impress and enjoy a fancy atmosphere this is the place to take your special someone out for dinner!

The flavors and service haven’t let us down yet. It’s a fabulous moody vibes which doesn’t hurt either. I would’ve attached photos of our steak and shrimp pasta, tuna poke, and mozzarella sticks but we ate before the camera today. 😋

Me and my girlfriend stopped in for dinner and drinks. She got the ribeye and I got the ny strip. First, let me start by saying the food is out of this world!!! We also ordered dirty martinis which were the best we’ve ever had. Our server, Ashley, was very professional and helpful. If I could choose a server every time I would choose her. Great attitude and above and beyond to make our experience the best. Prices were decent. We will definitely be returning. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great night out. So glad we decided to try this place. :)

My wife and I went to The Met for dinner the day after Valentine's Day. Even though it was in the single digits outside and we were seated by a window, the environment was comfortable. Courtney was our server, and she was EXCELLENT. Her timing was great; not too overbearing, but also around when you needed her. The food was great (I got the veal parm, my wife another pasta dish), the dessert was perfect (Snickers brownie), and the pricing was very reasonable. We'll be back!

We came up from Denver for the weekend and stumbled across the Met. I was so intrigued with the warm ambience and stunning design of this space. The drinks were fabulous and the desserts were delicious. We also received a little personal tour from our waiter. We will definitely be back!

The service here was phenomenal, and the food was great. The atmosphere is almost retro, and the bathrooms are clean and beautiful. I had the chicken wings and charcuterie, the chicken breast, and we tried all three of the desserts. Everything was perfect.

As for Cheyenne, Wyoming this place is bomb. As a comparison to Denver this place is phenomenal. The atmosphere, the food, the everything. Delish, keep this place around. Totally worth it all. Love it. I'm a foodie and a drinkie. This place is #1 currently.

The hostess was very frazzled and visibly upset when we arrived. She found us an open table after frantically running around to find an open seat. We would have never known otherwise because we only waited less than 5 minutes. It took our server (Taylor) a bit to get to us, but once she did, she took great care of us! She never hesitated to fill drinks or ask how things were going. She chatted with us in her down time and was very friendly. I ordered the Noodles. There flavor was a bit overwhelming. The sauce seems like someone had dumped a ton of soy sauce all over the plate. My husband ordered the bacon burger with regular fries. The ranch he requested was some of the BEST we've ever had! He loved the flavor of the seasoned fries and the burger was cooked perfect. We ordered the spicy tomato bisque and grilled cheese that didn't make it out until after our entrees were at the table.tl That didn't bug us one bit, the flavor of the bisque was more than we ever expected. I've had authentic french tomato bisque and this made the traditional bisque seem bland in comparison. The grill cheese was perfectly grilled and cheese was melted immaculately. We ordered the s'mores desert that was very good. The chocolate ice cream was very rich and full of flavor. The marshmallow however seemed as though it came from a jar. It tasted of stale confectionery sugar. I should have gone for the peach cobbler. When it came time to pay we found it difficult as we never keep cash or cards on us. I tried to pay using Google pay, but they didn't accept any kind of digital payment. We figured it out, but it was inconvenient. We were given a 10% off coupon to Provisions next door. Unfortunately we are in recovery, we can gift it though. Taylor was great! Give her a raise 😄 Over all we had a great experience and would highly recommend this dining experience to all of your friends!

Amazing experience! My Daughter turned 21 and wanted to have her first drink at the metropolitan. We sat at the bar late afternoon and was greeting by the most awesomeness Bartender! My daughter explained her tastes and the Bartender said she was going to make her a drink she made up and was one of her favorites. Made with a little cherry juice. Best drink ever! Daughter loved it and wants to go back soon. I had a wonderful glass of wine and we both had an excellent time at The Metropolitan Downtown.

Went to the Metropolitan to try their Sunday brunch. Didn't know what to expect. Cora, our server, was on point and made our meal a pleasant experience. Coffee was flavorful and promptly refilled. The blueberry pancakes topped with a homemade granola was delicious. Portions were very generous. Restaurant was very clean, everyone was upbeat, and it was a very enjoyable Sunday morning breakfast.

Not bad. Prime rib was amazing. Brussel sprouts were under seasoned. Truffle fries were not "truffle" fries at all, they were cajun seasoned with a balsamic reduction. Very salty. The service was good. The bar area was very loud and made it hard to hear my own table talk. Beautiful room. I would give them another chance.

Our waitress Sandy (I think?! I’m so sorry if it was something else) was stupendous!! She was so friendly, attentive, and helpful. As long as she’s there I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m in Cheyenne. The food was alright, but she made the visit more than worth it.

My wife and I have only been here a couple of times but we’ve never had a bad meal. I had the chicken parmigiana tonight and it was fantastic! The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating too. Also love the general atmosphere of the restaurant and bar. We’ll be back in the near future :)

A enjoyable and memorable experience to say the least. The hosts were friendly and seated me quickly even with how busy it was. Our server Kaylynn great! She was very quick to get my drink order upon sitting down and checked on me at a very relaxing pace. I was just planning on having drinks but decided to get dinner and the chicken parmigiana was very different compared to other places but I absolutely loved it. Kaylynn suggested the cheesecake and it was excellent. Very impressed with how personable our server was. Not only was she personable but paid great attention to detail and didn’t miss a single thing. Not one thing to complain about during my experience. It’s hard to come by great customer service but management here sure has done great with their employees!

Great atmosphere. Classy. Solid bar and food offerings. But my steak frites (ordered at the bar) was the toughest, stringiest, and clod-filled steak I believe I've ever had. Sure, that can happen. But they cut their steak frites into medallions, so I would have thought the kitchen would have had to cut through what I did, too. Steak was so tough I ended up really biting hard into my lip and (likely) ruining one of their napkins with blood. My server never checked on me again, so I couldn't register a complaint. Oh well. The martini was good.

This place feels like you stopped for an evening in a swanky, 1920’s restaurant. The decor, dishes, lighting, furniture, are stunning and perfectly chosen. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the service was quickly. The truffle fries were beautifully served and very delicious. Our ribeye was delightful and melt in your mouth. We had the cheesecake, which was a delightful end to the evening. I would highly recommend this for a fun night out or for a quick drink with friends as their bar was stunning. A jewel in the middle of Cheyenne!

Sam runs a fantastic restaurant! It's a favorite of ours to frequent for brunch and lunch. The staff are cool and nice people who make sure that you are well taken care of. The atmosphere is very laid back. They occasionally have dueling pianos which is a ton of fun to attend. Overall, you can't go wrong with the metropolitan downtown.

Great experience. Everything we had was delicious, including the burger, Brussels sprouts, and lasagna. Some things on the menu are pretty expensive but there are definitely cheaper options as well. Our bill was pretty reasonable for the quality. Our server was great as well! Will definitely be back.

AMAZING!!! By far the BEST place to eat in Cheyenne. If you are looking for an upscale, delicious, refined place to eat this is it! Our food was SO GOOD and just as beautiful to look at. Absolutely amazing service; my waitress and hostess were so prompt and made sure my experience was on point! This location is so fun! The restaurant is gorgeous! So uniquely decorated with modern design! It’s amazing how I feel like I’m in New York or Los Angeles in Cheyenne, WY just due to the decor of the interior restaurant. Please please get the crispy Brussel Sprouts! They were incredible!!! I’ve never them with green apple! Don’t let that green apple y’all weird you out, I promise you it’s amazing! It’s like asian Thanksgiving I’m your mother! I’m Mexican American so I’m just imagining what that would be like with an American Asian blend. Point is come to the Metropolitan Downtown Cheyenne. This place was clean and really nice. The price is a bit on the pricey side. We had never been there but the menu was simple enough without getting any kind of suggestions from our waiter. Funny thing is we were sat before a small group and they thought my husband and I were with them they corrected the mistake quick. We had to sit through basically an interview from our neighbors. All the other people were spread out nicely. Our waiter was pretty nice. My husband loved the salmon. The burger and fries was decent. We may or may not be back.

Really good, great staff. I have now managed to eat brunch, lunch, dinner and have late night cocktails. Everything has been delicious and very reasonably prices. the brunch is interesting and very tasty. The chorizo breakfast burrito is huge and amazing! Good diverse menu with amazing drinks! The brussel sprouts are my favorite so far, exceptional and cooked perfectly. Definitely dress up potential but no judgment for people in work clothes.

What a great place to relax and have a good meal in downtown town Cheyenne. Art deco inspired restaurant with a comfy bar, variety of menu selections, and ample servings of tasty food. Wait staff and hostess are excellent and accommodating. The restrooms are clean with small amenities. We will stop in again on our next trip through Wyoming.

We've been to The Metropolitan in Cheyenne for several events including our anniversary and my son's college graduation. We and our friends and family have all loved it. The food and staff are excellent and we love the decor. It was especially pretty at Christmas. Definitely recommend the brussel sprouts appetizer and the burger and pastas!

My husband and I were visiting Cheyenne yesterday together and noticed this beautiful new restaurant! We used to live in the area and have since moved, so coming to town to see new things is exciting. We made a reservation for lunch and were SO PLEASED! The staff was very friendly and we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is very cool and makes Cheyenne feel like a real city. Our orders were taken within just a few minutes of being seated, the waitress kept us refilled on water at all times, and the food was phenomenal. It was nothing short of an amazing lunch and felt like “coming home” for me and my husband. 5 stars well deserved!

Fantastic food, great service, and I LOVED the modern atmosphere! They serve a nice blend of seasonal foods. This was our first time eating here and I was really impressed with their 2019 menu. My Wife and I joined another couple. We were seated and waited on promptly. We had a nice New Zealand wine, Fried Mozzarella and crispy Brussels Sprouts as appetizers... very good. Ordered Ribeye, New York Strip and Chicken Parmesan. Steaks were cooked appropriately and the Chicken Parm was good, but the pasta left a little to be desired. Dessert was Chocolate tower... not really a tower at about 2", but tasty... filled with chocolate mousse, Cheesecake, very good. Key lime pie, a little bland for what should be a tart dish. All in all a good meal. I would recommend it to anyone!

The steak was excellent. The service was excellent. The prime Rib sandwich was flavorless and the lasagna had no spices to it but clover. The Brussel sprout appetizer as very good and so was the cheese plate. A glass of wine is as much as the meal. The prices of most of the food was not bad, but they get you with the alcohol prices. The Atmosphere is very nice and relaxing.

We arrived for opening night and were seated promptly. We ordered two appetizers which came out at separate times. It was a little strange and I don't think it was intentional but they were quite good. We then proceeded to wait over 45 minutes for our meal. However, it was opening night. I ordered a cosmopolitan and they brought me a metropolitan. While the drink order was incorrect it too was quite delicious. When our meal did finally come out the food was fantastic, but the portions were a little small and served on giant plates. All in all I think it was great, they just have a few kinks to work out.

Update immediately below this original posting ... The Metropolitan is a refreshing addition to downtown Cheyenne. Offering really excellent dinner options with fresh ingredients and well prepared food the Metropolitan is probably the only choice for really good dining in the city. Seasonal offerings keep the menu fresh and the service is exemplary for Cheyenne. Expectations are key here. If you're expecting the kind of dinner fare that you would enjoy in San Francisco or New York , then you're going to be disappointed. However, if you're tired of the consistently mediocre restaurant fare of Cheyenne, then you're going to be delighted with the meal you'll enjoy at this restaurant. The service is consistently good, and the prices are right where they should be for the city. Galeotos has done a great job, and we're grateful that he's opened this restaurant. What a great addition to downtown! Our only criticism, and this is a minor one at that, is that they may need to work on their wine list a bit. All-in- all, highly recommend. Well done Sam! 2021 Update We've gone back a number of times and experience has been increasingly less spectacular and downright unappealing at times. The quality of food has diminished significantly as has the service. On one occasion a waiter spilled an entire glass of wine all over one of our party and didn't apologize or get something to help us clean up. I literally had to ask another waiter to send over the manager who didn't offer much more. At a minimum I would have expected that they would have helped us clean up, offered to clean the articles of clothing, and maybe even comp the wine or even the meal. But nothing of the sort! All in all, this restaurant had a strong start but what feels like a pretty crummy finish.

So out of adversity comes great service. We had reserved one room and gotten moved to another due to a double booking issue. The management was quite accommodating to our needs and gave us a rock star waitress. Some of the wait staff even came in and sang karaoke with us. All in all a great 50th birthday party. Now the food review. Appetizers. Wings rock. Brussel sprouts 🎸 . I had the salmon. Fabulous. I had mine with the Thai chili sauce off of the wings due to a dietary concern and it paired excellent. Had a couple of rounds of green tea shots. Very well done and thanks again.

Such a fun environment with wonderful staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful and attentive. The food is amazing!! The Brussel sprouts are a MUST. Prices are comparable to going to Colorado for a reasonably fancy night out, but the portions are way better at the Metropolitan. Dine local and enjoy a classy, delicious experience!!

We were super excited to try The Met, it lived up to most of our expectations. The atmosphere, staff, and overall visit was great. The food was cooked beautifully and presentation was on point, the staff was exceptional. So why the low rating? ABSOLUTELY NO SALT OR SEASONING ON THE FOOD. I cannot tell you how important this piece is to the flavor of food and I am not even a Chef. I really hope they can make this adjustment, we are willing to try it again. I will update this review after the 2nd visit if my mind has changed. I truly think this is what Cheyenne needs and it is a step up from anything we currently have, minus the blandness to the food.

I’ve been working in kitchens for a long time here in Cheyenne I was thoroughly impressed with the food and atmosphere of the met our table was a little cramped next to the other ones and the appetizer ahi took a little long but everything was fantastic the only thing I didn’t like so much was the cheesecake it had a very bitter ponzu sauce or something that took to much away from the sweetness of the cheesecake will definitely be back though!! Our server Jen was awesome and attentive and the manager Sara was kind and courteous!!

The ambiance of The Met is one of a kind; gold accents, beautiful lighting and comfortable seating. From the very first bite and on our entree was filled with flavor. Bottomless Mimosas was the best part. They were traditional Mimosas, not fancier ones like at Epic Egg. Brunch options were also more plentiful at Epic Egg.....so in comparison of the two....Go to Epic Egg!! More reasonable pricing and better selection.

Could be better. The Brussels sprouts were amazing, as well as the stuffed portabella burger. The fries were stale, like they had been out of the frier for much too long. And the cesar salad was weirdly sweet. Good atmosphere, but the service can also use some work. We were sat but no one came to check on us for about 25 mins to even bring us water or ask if we wanted drinks. The waiter who finally did come and take care of us was very attentive and did acknowledge that no one had come to take our order (he seemed to be working outside of his section, we think that the person who should have been taking care of us was not paying as much attention as they should have been.) I think they have the possibility of being really great when more established, just need to work out some of the kinks of being a new restaurant.

Stopped in Cheyenne for a quick meal on my cross country drive. Stopped at one restaurant and it was packed, so continued down the street to the next location. The Metropolitan was also very busy but there was one seat at the bar so I squeezed in. I ordered the salmon dinner and it came out looking delicious. I enjoyed my meal with a local IPA and then headed to my hotel. If you are concerned about covid at all, most restaurants in Cheyenne I walked by were packed, with minor precautions. Fortunately I came out unscathed. Would definitely recommend for evening gathering.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious at a great price. Definitely go for brunch and get the bottomless mimosas or bloody marys! You can even alternate between the two.

Had a limited menu during Frontier Days when we visited. Although everyone in our group enjoy their meals and the food was tasty, the prime rib came without veggies. You hah to order a regular full salad....the portion size was enough for 2-3 people. It atmosphere was dark and noisey. We'll be back to try it when the full menu is available! Staff we're great.

The best restaurant in Cheyenne by far. Excellent service and delicious food in a gorgeous setting. The executive chef even made an appearance at our table - we dined like royalty! Everyone in Cheyenne needs to make this their new favorite spot for any occasion. Our table had the lasagna, the roasted chicken, and the mushroom burger and we were all blown away by the presentation and taste. Thank you for opening in our little town! We needed a place like this!

We had great service but the food was not worth the price. I ordered the pan seared salmon which was delicious but paying 20 some dollars for a small salmon and barely any sides (think of a 5 star restaurant meal where you don't get much food) was very disappointing. The menu didn't have many options yet and a lot of it doesn't sound appetising but they did just open so hopefully their menu expands.

My husband and I came up for Cheyenne Frontier Days and we needed something besides carnival food to eat. The Denver Post wrote an article on Cheyenne and mentioned two nice restaurants. We are so glad we chose The Metropolitan Downtown. We were in somewhat of a hurry but this wait staff went above and beyond to not only make us feel at home but serve us 3 separate dishes in under an hour. And those dishes were phenomenal! We did all but lick the bowl of the beer cheese soup (special of the day), inhaled their sriracha chicken wings, and our entree was the prime rib sandwich. Those wings though...so good we decided to come back for breakfast to watch the parade. Living in an overcrowded City like Denver, it was a breath of fresh air to meet every single server and each one to be as kind as they were. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner the morning of the parade and commended him on the team he has assembled. A must try restaurant if you are in Cheyenne.

The reservation system on their website is simple to use, wait staff is super friendly, and there atmosphere is great. If it has one down side, it's that it's between the parking garage and the pioneer hotel. Makes for some interesting evening interactions.

We recently took a vacation to the Rockies and at the end visited Cheyenne. On a tour our guide mentioned The Metropolitan. Are we glad he did! What a magnificent restaurant and Bar. This takes Cheyenne to 5 star dining!! The food, ambiance, drinks and staff were 5 star and above. After we had dinner and drinks there we decided to explore other places but none could compare and we had to return for our last evening drink. If you visit Cheyenne you have to go here. It is simply the best, classy 5 star and plus! We also had amazing hospitality from all the staff and the Manager was so hospitable and showed us around. This place is a must to visit!

I made reservations and the process which I started online looked easy enough but it seemed to be glitchy. I will chalk that up to the lack of having internet service since I’m just visiting. So, I wound up calling instead. What I didn’t like was being blocked into specific times, their specific times. I wanted a reservation at 6pm. The online service wouldn’t allow you to choose 6pm. There were only specific block times. Even when I called and asked for 6, they came back with 6:15, which was one of the specific times. I went ahead and took the 6:15 time. My party showed up and well I really didn’t need to make a reservation because there were plenty of places to be seated. Even after checking in with the hostess they seemed lost. We were initially lead to an area and then she realized someone was sitting at the table she was taking us to, she turned and said it looks like a mix up. She went back to the hostess station to figure it out. We were then seated at an empty table right next to the hostess station. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for a appetizer. When it came out we all, there were three of us, looked at the dish. I made the comment, ah, it’s one of those places. The place that price their plates high and put a tiny amount on it but add drizzles or garnish to make it look high class presentable. It was good and a little different. There was a high taste of lime in the dip. We all ordered the Met Filet. Again, presentation when it was brought out. Of the three, two were ordered medium rare and the other medium. One had to be returned because it was over cooked. The steak did taste really good though. Overall, this place is way over priced. Since I have family here, in any future visits here, I won’t go back due to the prices compared to the amount of food. I can get a good steak for much cheaper and I don’t like being told exactly when I can have a reservation. Reservations should be my time not theirs.

For Cheyenne, it’s decent. Though for someone not from this land of food drought, the food is incredibly underseasoned and disappointing for the price. I even extra salted it myself and it still wasn’t where I wanted it. There was no depth to any part of the meal. No “yum.” Confit chicken, as someone from Atlanta, was especially sad. We tossed most of it. Everything was BLAND. Would I buy dinner there again? No. I am giving it 3 stars only because this is Cheyenne, land of chains and fast food. I’ll try the brunch here, again, because there aren’t options in good ol’ Cheyenne. Note: the cheesecake was the shining moment of the meal. Would actually buy again. The filet wasn’t bad but they seemed to have missed both seasoning and milliard reaction on the prime rib.

The Metropolitan Downtown has a great atmosphere and vibe. I had the prime rib and it’s some of the best I’ve had. If you enjoy a good drink their Old Fashioned is the best I’ve had in years. Highly recommend!

Visited Cheyenne for the week from Denver and i have to say, Cheyenne has this rustic western beauty but seemed to be a little culinarily limited. This place was a hidden gem and a wonderful change of pace. The metropolitan’s prime rib was the best ive ever had. Classy-Modern design yet still comfortable. I had the ahi..kale salad with brown rice...whole grain...a great choice for those on a whole grain veggie diet....the ahi was raw and quite good...service was excellent as was the glass of pino...tables are far apart or u have a booth...better for conversation and safety...I would give them 5 stars but they are pricey...but in my mind worth it.

The hollandaise sauce was to color and consistency of uncooked velveeta cheese. It still tasted good. My poached eggs were very over cooked. Maybe specify how you’d like your eggs cooked when you come here!
