Very nice place ,was expecting to go somewhere else but they were having an issue so for my birthday we ended up going to The Chop House.. tried some new things that I've never had before was very impressed and the waiter James went out of his way to make my birthday special, our appetizer was the Moroccan shrimp which is very good a little bit of spiciness to it, the main course was crab stuff sole, and a rosemary herb chicken. And for dessert I tried their Maple pecan bread pudding with chocolate drizzle and it was awesome.

Such an amazing experience last night, dining at the chophouse. Jonathon was our server, started us off with the yummy little gluten free pop over. We had oysters and calamari for our appetizers, first time for both and that calamari was delicious. Oysters however I think are an acquired taste. Extensive menu but they offered two specials too good to pass on so we each ordered one. I enjoyed the halibut with lobster reduction sauce and my husband had the filet with asparagus in hollandaise sauce. Our entrees were both delicious and would order everything again other than the oysters at no fault to the chophouse. Thanks for an overall great dining experience

Very nice steakhouse feel. The Chilean Seabass was excellent. The lamb lollipops were a little bit too rare for me. Overall this restaurant has a Manhattan feel in the middle of West Virginia. I would guess this is probably the best in Charleston.

Top notch service and selection. I got a special that was the Parmesean Crusted Halibut topped with a lobster creme sauce woth asparagus and a house salad. It was cooked beautifully and I paired with a nice Pinot Noir. Most menu items are a la carte and large. Some dishes have sides along with it (as my halibut did).
** It was the best food I've had in a long time **
Great Old Fashions I hear, but they are not my taste.
Valet service outside if you prefer for 10, pay when you pay the bill.
Can you believe I lost my ticket in the 15 feet it took to walk in, and I hadn't even had wine yet. But it didn't matter. They had my last name.
Go on, have fun. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. You won't regret it.
And follow me you pirates.

The food looked a lot better than it was. Most of the food was cold despite waiting almost an hour for it. While it wasn't the fault of the restaurant the ovens were down due to a power outage. Half of the menu couldn't be ordered. I'm sure they would've made an attempt to remake our food because of the lack of warmth but we just couldn't wait for that to happen.

The food was superb 👌
Very impressive and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The waitress was very knowledgeable and explained that the steaks are cooked a little under what you usually order and that helped in ordering the perfectly cooked steak. The food was cooked to perfection. I can say that I was very impressed. I highly recommend and would return.

We had an amazing dinner here last night! The calamari appetizer is an absolute must (if you're a fan of spicy). The breading had this light crispness that held up well to the sweet and spicy sauce. The calamari was tender and about as perfectly cooked as you could imagine. My wife, who does not like fish, took a risk on the halibut (w/lobster sauce) special of the day and raved about it. I had the beef special of the day - a filet, medium rare (cooked flawlessly) topped with lump blue crab, hollandaise and a side of asparagus. Their menu is great, but if we went again I'd honestly order whatever the special of the day is - just trust their chef.
Inside it was very clean, upscale, and cozy. Atmosphere was great for our date night.
The service was fitting for the night. Our waiter had spot on recommendations - both the specials and the calamari. Never felt rushed to order and drinks/food arrived exactly when we were ready for it.
If you're looking for a special dinner, anywhere, near Charleston WV, this is where you find it.

Honestly my husband and I felt the quality of food had slipped so hadn’t returned in the last 4-5 years. We decided to give it another try for a special occasion and were fabulously surprised. Every course was delicious! They’re back to their previous high quality and we’ll be back soon!

Best experience I have ever had at a restaurant! We were turned away from an empty bt prime because we didn't make a reservation (we had kids with us) and I couldn't be more happy! Chop house had best steaks and best old fashion I've ever had. It's expensive but crazy good!
