Food was very good and has an awesome rustic atmosphere. The restaurant is attached to the baseball stadium on the Morris street side. This is a perfect place to get some great Italian food in Charleston!

Excellent Italian restaurant in a nice building. The service is always very good. One suggestion would be to put the beer list in writing. Everything we had eaten is great including eggplant, pasta, salad and their bride. Which they had extended hours. Great place to eat during baseball season.

A mixed bag for a first visit. There were several in our party so I got to sample several of their dishes. Most were really good. The only complaint was for the lasagna. Both people that tried it said it was undercooked. I sampled a bite of it too and the lower levels were mushy. Definitely needs cooked more.
Other than that the food wasn’t bad. But it is very pricey considering what you get. The cheese ravioli while good was still just cheese ravioli. It was not a huge portion but cost $22.00. And does not come with a salad. None of their dishes appear to come with a salad. The house salad on their menu is $10.00.
Another item of note is they charge you a percentage fee for using a credit card. Our bill was $100 and they charged us $4 so keep that in mind as well.
There are some other dishes on their menu I want to try and will try someday but I’m not in a hurry to do that real soon.
It’s a pleasant atmosphere and there is lit parking directly behind the building on the baseball park premises so that should alleviate any concerns one might have about parking on the streets of Charleston at night.

We stopped by without a reservation the night of a show at the nearby Clay Center. They were still able to accommodate us at the bar for a couple of drinks and a heavy appetizer. Great place and great service.

This was my first visit since Abruzzi opened. The menu is pretty limited but we enjoyed what we ordered. Their take on a caprese salad, using arugula, cherry tomatoes, and burrata is incredibly good. I enjoyed mine with a helping of their lasagna.
Don't judge their presentation by my photo, though, we got our order to-go. The plating is my doing.

We went here before the Nutcracker at the Clay Center and it was fancy yet casual enough for a walk-in date night dinner. Excellent fall salad!!

I went here with my girlfriend for our 3rd anniversary after a friend told me about how good the food is. We had a great time and some great food too. We started off with the arrosticini (lamb skewers) as an appetizer, then I got radiatori pasta with bolognese sauce and she got spaghetti with marinara sauce. To finish it up, we got a slice of cheesecake and some berry jam. The arrosticini was delicious, especially paired with the tomatoes served with it. While I loved the pasta, I didn't really like the bolognese sauce, but it was my first time having it and it could just be that I don't like bolognese sauce in general and I can't fault them for that. My girlfriend doesn't like her pasta cooked al dente (to me, it's the only way pasta should be cooked), but she liked the marinara sauce on her spaghetti. The cheesecake was a strong finisher and went well with the berry jam. My only complaint about dessert was that the jam had a hint of mint that I thought didn't go well with the cheesecake, but I don't think the jam was originally supposed to be paired with the cheesecake. We asked if they had any fruit sauce for the cheesecake and they said they had something they could give us, so my guess is they don't normally pair them together. Regardless, it was still delicious, mint or no mint. If I go back, I'll be getting the radiatori again, but I plan to try another sauce.

I went with a group of friends to have dinner at Ristorante Abruzzi on New Years Eve, 12.31.2019. For the most part we had a lovely, fun time .... which is why I'm torn between between giving the restaurant a 4-star or a 5-star review. While everyone agreed that the food was generally quite good, the eggplant parmigiana I ordered was fairly disappointing. What I eventually got after some delay was a couple of slices of breaded, someone under-fried eggplant, DROWNED in a round bowl of thick spaghetti and unremarkable sauce. It was more spaghetti than eggplant. That by itself would not cause me to subtract a star for the overall experience, since I can just chalk it up to a staff being somewhat swamped on a festive New Year's Eve.
What WILL cause me to subtract a star from any restaurant review is how LOUD a place is, something that too many restaurants suffer for. Visually Abruzzi's is a great place, with tasteful lighting, appealing decor, and comfortable seating at tables that aren't too crowded together. But Abruzzi's is also a high-ceilinged, rectilinear space with a lot of hard, sound-reflecting surfaces, so that when there's a crowd there, the room can get very LOUD for people wanting to be heard in conversation, and I wasn't the only person in my group to remark about this. Some acoustic paneling would definitely help reduce the decibel level.

Great handcrafted food and service. Their eggplant parmesan is some of the best I've had. The portions are generous and the meal ces with tasty fresh bread. My top restaurant in charleston.

A beautiful atmosphere with a warm welcoming staff. From the beginning the experience was very personal and friendly. I had the lasagna, and it was just delicious! We came for a romantic evening and were met with a dreamy candlelit room with professionals serving crisp cold water from glittering blown glass decanters. A detailed and magical experience curated by lovely inviting people. 10/10 would recommend!

Italian food. Tasty. Parking across the street or behind. Very knowledgeable waitress that were perfect in their service. We had lasagna (a little dry...ask for extra sauce. And, eggplant parmesan with fresh homemade pasta (spaghetti). Eggplant to thick. Spaghetti very good.

As a former employee of Riatorante Abruzzi I can say that they are a very good resteraunt. The talent in the kitchen is unbelievable, they have some of the finest chefs I've ever met who truly put passion into their food and take pride in what they serve to customers. The wait staff is also very excellent, they have very friendly and well trained servers who will make sure your dining experience is as perfect as it can possibly be. On top of all of that they have very friendly owners who listen to customer feedback and ensure you thoroughly have a good experience.
10/10 if you ever want to take your significant other out for a luxurious night or want to stop by for a well cooked meal this is the place for you.

FANTASTIC!!! Everything was fresh and wonderful from the appetizers to the entree’s to the desserts! The new chef has out done himself with great flavors and amazing dishes. The owners and the chef have created that Italian homemade meal experience. Charleston’s next top restaurant!!!

The owners of Charleston Bread opened this restaurant several months ago. We've been a few times now, and we love it. The prices are reasonable and the food is very good. I love the Alfredo sauce and my husband really likes a chicken dish with gorgonzola cheese. The bread and pasta are both made at Charleston Bread. Desserts are from local shops. Service is always great. Definitely worth going!

The food was excellent, with both moderate prices and more expensive. Half a dozen specialty cocktails (I had the Godfather, whisky and amaretto), a variety of wines and a so-so beer selection. We were celebrating a birthday and staff went out of their way to accommodate us.

Food was over cooked and our chicken was burnt on two dishes. Prices are $5 to $10 more per dish than listed on here. Not worth the money.
Cindy Keely
Excellent service and food selection. Enjoyed the New Years Eve special of stuffed flounder. Others at the table order pasta dishes which were stated as delicious.
Karen Pauley
Absolutely awesome food and service! The pasta and bread are homemade and delicious! Our server went above and beyond tonight!

Atmosphere nice, lasagna not so much. To much meat not enough cheese and sauce for the top.
Nessa Chan
Great food and great service in a relaxed atmosphere. The bread and homemade pizza crust and pasta are real standouts.

Food is good, staff was super friendly. I felt it was overpriced though. So 4 stars for the price.

We ate most of the food too fast to get any good pics. My wife said the salmon was the best she’s ever had in any restaurant. I really enjoyed the chicken parmesan and the meatball appetizer. All food was prepared well and served in a timely manner and although the wine list isn’t too extensive it offers a lot of good options.
