We ordered take out from Rio De Grill for the first time today. We had heard nothing but good things from several friends about the place, and when we found out they did online ordering and take out, we had to give it a try. We got the dinner box, the fried corn, and the crab salad. Everything was well cooked and delicious. The dinner box is one of the best values I've seen in the area. Being able to get a sample of most of the meats on the menu for $19.99 (at the time of this review) is just an incredible deal in my opinion. This allows you to find the things on the menu you like best without having to commit to a single item. I'd absolutely recommend this if you haven't been here before. The fried corn and the crab salad were both great appetizers. The crab salad has a nice, mild flavor that goes with pretty much any entrée. The fried corn is very good, just fried batter with sweet corn inside, but the flavor is very good. Overall, I'd very much recommend Rio De Grill. We will definitely be back.

My first time eating here. I have dined at Texas De Brazil several times in the past year, but never tried this local restaurant. I enjoyed the options on their salad bar better here. The food also has a sweeter flavor, which I enjoyed. I will be back to try this place again soon.

Absolutely delightful!! My hubby and I just tried another place for lunch, but it was terrible. I was still hungry and saw this place. I had passed by Rio's many times, always meaning to try it someday... so swung in having no idea what so ever to expect. It seems pretty basic from the outside. Walking in, I was pleased to see a very nice salad bar of good size right in the middle. We were seated right away by a very friendly young lady, who then explained how dining worked here. You can enjoy just the salad bar, for a reasonable price, or enjoy the Brazilian Steakhouse feature. Meaning, you still get the lovely salas bar, but also they bring out all kinds of different meats to your table! I tried grilled shrimp, chicken, beef roasts, tenderloins, prime rib, pork roast, spar ribs, lamb roast and more!!! Everything was absolutely delicious!! Fresh and dipping with juice as they carved it for you right at the table!! I was so pleased, and sooo stuffed!! We already have plans to go back next week! I can't wait!!

So the wife and I decided to check this place out while wanting to try something new. Never been to a Brazilian steak house and it was a nice experience. The rotating food brought to the table was nice and mostly tasty. There were a couple disappointments, some of the meat was dry and flavorless. While others were tasty and flavorful. All in all for the price, it was a decent experience. I would go back.

Very disappointed, look like this place stopped being a typical Brazilian steakhouse a long time ago. After trying and enjoying the excellent Brazilian food at "Texas de Brazil" in FL, we were very excited to find this kind of churrascaria in WV. We went for lunch and the place opened at 11:30am and still was kind of empty but smelly, messy and with very dark, dirty bathrooms; with a couple fighting loudly in the kitchen, it was a red flag for me, for an expensive, almost 5 stars restaurant this leaves much to be desired. The service was good but the most important part, the food, the one they serve is very different from the traditional brazilian cuisine that you expect to find in this place, somewhat bland and expensive for the quality you expect from a Brazilian Steakhouse or grill, only some portions of meat on the skewer such as Picanha were part of the real deal, they have a rare mixture of cuisines because apparently the current owners and most of the workers are asian too. By the way I love Asian cuisine but this wasn't the place and the case.

I found this place while passing through Charleston WVa....I have been to several Brazilian steakhouses in different parts of the country and I have to say this one was not the best one. It was still very good food and the service was excellent. The building was a little worn around the edges and could use com remodeling.

Beautifully prepared and presented food!! If you like chicken hearts they will make them to order!! The garlic bread and the roasted pineapple are so amazing by themselves or paired with any of the tender meats offered!! The prices are a bit steep but worth it if you bring your appetite!! You won't be disappointed.

Went here for lunch today. They have the absolute best garlic bread I've ever had. The meat selection was good for lunch, I'd like to have had lamb during lunch, but I think that's reserved for dinner. We were served prime rib, sausage, multiple kinds chicken, grilled pineapple, tilapia, and it was all great. The salad bar was fully stocked and it didn't disappoint. The decor is trendy and it looks muck nicer on the inside than I expected (the outside is a bit sketchy). I would definitely come here again.

Okay, so this place is excellent enough that I’m pausing from eating my dinner to comment on it. The staff was extremely friendly upon my arrival, even considering that I came in at a half hour to close on a Saturday night two days before Christmas. I was seated and they explained everything to me as I hadn’t been in here before. It’s a Brazilian steakhouse, so you get a wooden block to flip over (one side red, the other green) to let them know when you do or do not want more meat. Within 60 seconds of turning over the block, a waiter with a skewer of bacon wrapped shrimp and another with sausages came to my table and offered them to me. I’ve eaten over half of the menu options for the dinner buffet, plus gotten a plate at the salad bar, and it’s currently after closing and they continue to ask me if I’d like anything else. Also important to note is that this isn’t out-of-date cube steaks from the local grocery store, for roughly $30.00 I’ve eaten sirloin steak, prime rib, filet mignon, lamb shoulder, grilled shrimp, and more and they don’t limit the quantity either. They have a full service bar that has drink specials throughout the week, some of which include 14 oz domestic drafts for $0.99! All in all, I will be back every chance I get!

Unique fun dining experience with mouth watering food! Staff is friendly, helpful, and brisk. Once you sit down and turn the triangle to green, the food starts rolling! Everything was cooked perfect, amazing tastes, hot, and tender. There wasn't a meat they brought out that my family didn't enjoy. This is a great place for a date night or a fun family dinner! I've gone a few times, large family holiday meal and lil date night. Every time we were blown away with wonderful food and enjoyable staff. Some of the reviews complain about the price, $25 per person. I honestly think that's cheap considering you are getting UNLIMITED QUALITY meat! Go to the grocery store and see how much a pound of steak is, your lucky if it's $8.00 a lb. 8 pieces of raw jumbo shrimp is $16. Keep in mind that's all unprepared too. Their prices are a bargain if you ask me... they do offer smaller options if one doesn't eat much, I cannot remember those prices tho. It is beyond worth every bit of the $25 per person. I'm a small gal but the food is so delicious I got my money's worth!

Don't come here expecting it to be like the Brizilian steak houses in bigger markets like Indy and Myrtle Beach, it's half the price , salad bar was good but wish they had more things like micorni salad, 3 bean salad, and pepperoni, meats were OK, the guys that bring out the meats are spot on service but it took forever to get drink refills , over all it was a place we will go back every now and then, also outside landscape needs cleaned up

My bf and I completed an online order for takeout at Rio De Grill a few weeks ago and it was absolutely delicious. We both got the Dinner Box, which gives you an excellent sampler of their various meat offerings. For $20/box, it was an outstanding deal. We will absolutely order again from here!

First time we have come here. The dinner was incredible! The spinach cranberry blue cheese salad was fresh and flavorful, and the shrimp (fried and cocktail) were plump and just perfect. The mojito I got was the perfect thing to quench my thirst. Every 5 minutes (at the most) we were brought a mouthwatering cut of grilled meat,(churrasco)sliced off a skewer brought to the table (pork, beef, lamb, and chicken is all we had room for, but there was more variety available) delicious grilled pineapple, or garlic bread. Some reviews show customers that thought the meats were undercooked, but that isn't the case. Meats can retain a pinkish or red color, even if they are cooked to proper temperature, so please ignore the reviews of those who are obviously unfamiliar with various methods of ethnic cooking. Fans of charcuterie, churrasco and delicately seasoned meats will love this place, I'm sure. I just need a better job to afford my expensive eating habits, because this ain't a fast food joint. 😆 You will definitely get what you pay for here, however.

My Aunt suggested we come here today after my cousins funeral. The owner was so friendly and accommodating for our large group. The salad bar was stocked, fresh and a nice variety to choose from. The meats...from the ribs, chicken, sausages, chicken and that grilled pineapple and garlic bread was Delicious. I would definitely come back here to eat next time I visit Charleston.

First time visit. They explained everything to us. Nice salad bar with sides. We got there right before 3:30 and they were switching over to dinner but they gave us the choice of choosing lunch or dinner. The difference is a few more meats on the dinner. You turn your triangle to green and out comes meats that are sliced right at your table or pushed off the skewers on to your plate. When you want a break you turn it to yellow. Turned it to green again and out comes more meats. We didn't make it through them all, it was just to much. And is basically all you can eat there. They keep coming around offering you the delicious food. My favorite is the grilled pineapple. Needless to say but, we LOVED it. And with a price of $37 for both meals and drinks it is a no brainer that we will go there again. We HIGHLY recommend it. It would be a keto dieters dream there.

I went to this restaurant with my church family after service. This was my first time here. I like how they bring a variety of meats around to each table like ham, prime rib, sausage along with garlic bread and roasted pineapple. They have these markers on the table with different colors to let the servers know if you want more meat, less meat or you are done. In addition, you can eat as much as you want from the salad bar. They do have desserts at the salad bar but I didn't get any because I was too stuffed from the meat and salad. It was a great atmosphere and I will definitely go back!!!

Everything on the buffet was fresh and flavorful, and the meats were fantastic (especially the prime rib). Also, do not say no to the garlic bread and pineapple, as they are delicious as well. My Valentine's Day was my Hubby Tony Vanoy, and I decided to surprise him. We arrived early because our day was planned out. We went in and not many people there but it was early. The waitress slash hostess greeted us and said in case you didnt see the sign we are Dinner All Day due to Valentine's. That's a $10 per person increase on the price but again its Valentine's Day Love is Priceless right??? I hadn't seen the sign and really grateful we didn't need reservations because I forgot to call ahead. I looked at Tony and he said We are here..Just pay the lady...lol!!! She seated us so we could start our Brazilian Steakhouse Adventure. She showed us how to use the Red, Green and Yellow Triangle on our table and took our drink order. I went with unsweetened Iced Tea with lemon and Tony took a large Budweiser Draft. We went to the salad and sides bar I was happy to see that they had Caprese Tomato Salad and Crostini. I also tried just one piece of Deep Fried Squid..heck take a chance on Love and Squid?? Why not?? I also got just a half scoop of Seafood Salad to go with my Lettuce, Tomatoes, Black olives and Onions with Ranch Salad, and few pieces of chilled Shrimp. They started coming around with the meats on swords and we were going to try everything they delivered to our table, I might not eat it all but I am going to try it. Firs they arrived with Garlic Bread, then grilled pineapple..two of my favorites. Followed by Italian Sausage, Bahama Sausage, Chicken Breast wrapped in Bacon, Ham, Chicken Legs, Prime Rib and Sirloin, followed again by Pork Tenderloin and Lamb..then came a Beef Tenderloin crusted in Garlic..and we had to turn to Yellow...Pause Please we are on meat overload I could have made a meal with the Prime Rib, Garlic Crusted Beef Tenderloin, Garlic Bread, Grilled Pineapple and my Caprese Tomato Salad and Crostini. The food was all good, and after eating about half of what was on our plates we decided NOT to turn back to Green from the Yellow but to go straight to Red and let them know we Stopped!! The Meat had officially kicked our butts!!! If you like Meat or on the Keto Diet then this is the place for you. During day lunch is only $15.99 for 12 different meats and dinner starts after 3pm for 16 meats at $25.99 drinks cost extra and the salad bar with its hot and cold sides is only $9.99 The food was very good and plenty of it. As Tony said, If you leave hungry after eating here..You have a Big Problem!!!! The services was great, she checked on us time after time..Definitely will go back but not for awhile..This place you need to be really hungry...But it was a Great Valentine's Day Date for us both...Not bad prices..our check was $70 including drinks, taxes and tip

We were there with a group of 10 or 12 for lunch a couple of days after Christmas. The wait staff handled our group with ease. They continually brought out different types of meat, which were all pretty tasty. The garlic bread was awesome. My only complaints are that I wish they had a better variety of foods on the buffet. Also, would be nice to have a better selection of dessert. Over all, it was a great experience, and I would eat there again.

I visited Rio De Grill during lunchtime and the food was decent. It's an interesting experience - they bring the various meats around on skewers and allow you to choose what you would like. They had a good variety of meats to choose from, but they all tasted the same in my opinion. There didn't seem to be a variety in seasoning used to cook each different item, so the result was a similar taste no matter what I tried. They also have a traditional style buffet with other things, such as salads and popcorn chicken. The food from the buffet was good and I had no complaints about it. The only food I tried that I didn't like was chicken heart - I tried it because I had never had it before and I will probably never try it again, but I think it's more of an issue with the texture and flavor of the chicken heart rather than something the restaurant did wrong.

This place has really delicious food! Service was really great and attentive! Excellent staff and the place was clean. At thirty bucks per adult it's a little pricey for a buffet but the concept is cool. You get a little trinket on your table with a green side and a red side. When you want the servers to bring you steak, lamb, seafood, or chicken you flip the green side up and they cut you slices of hot delicious food right there. When you want the meat the stop coming you flip the red side up. A really great experience overall!

I've paid nearly twice as much to eat at franchise Brazilian steakhouses but this one was just as good and in some ways better. Service was courteous and prompt, food was delicious.

Outstanding!! The best food I've had in years!! The name Brazilian was making me think it was some odd weird food. It was steak, chicken, soups, salads, all kinds of breads and desserts. $15 per person. They bring all you can eat sausages and steak and ribs with chicken to your table..the rest is on the bar. Roasted buttered potatoes. Sweet potatoes, pastas and shrimp with veggies. Outstanding!! I wish I could give it 10+..

This place is actually very good. Great meat selections, salad on the buffet was a nice variety, and some desserts. The mixed drinks are the only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars. I ordered something that was supposed to be on the rocks and they brought out some slushy drink that tasted horrible. When I pointed out their error, the waitress said that she would check with the woman that made the drink and she came back and said the woman said the drink was correct even though I was pointing at the picture and the drink that I received which clearly weren't the same thing...

As soon as we walked in we were asked if we had ever been here before, which we hadn't. They took extra time to explain how the service worked, I thought that was nice. I don't eat a lot of the things offered on the bar, just because I don't like most vegetable and pasta salads, but there were some hot dishes on the bar that were good, like buttered potatoes, fried shrimp, fried mushrooms, and goulash. The meats were delicious! Loved the prime rib and pork tenderloin. Amazing garlic bread. I will definitely be back!

Simply put it was fantastic. The food that they brought out was exquisite. The food on the salad bar was outstanding. Even with my plethora of food allergies I am so full I could not eat another bite. The staff was friendly was courteous was always there to make sure we had what we needed but not overbearing to where we could not enjoy it they were fantastic. The only reason I did not five-star was that there needed to be a few more options on the desert side but at the same time if you could eat the dessert then you didn't take advantage of what was given to you there

Me and my girlfriend went for lunch here recently. It was $15 for the buffet, and I have to say, the appetizer bar alone was worth the price. The only complaint I had was the prime rib was very rare, and way too tough.

My first time eating there!!!! I didn't want to eat food called "Brazilian" it sounded like an odd foreign place that served weird tasting foods. But my friends wanted to try it. Oh my! I am so glad we did. We ate until we were full, they just continued bringing extra food to the table. We paid $15 each for all of this. Absolutely the best restaurant food I have EVER had. Combos of Salad, Seafood, prime rib, chicken, sausages, garlice bread and rolls. Soups, cupcake cheesecakes...among the foods we enjoyed. I was blown away. This is my new place to eat. Had to wear gloves and masks ( they provided) wore them until eating at the table. Unlimited pastas, roasted potatoes, sweet potatos...i could go on and on. But eat there!!! It will give you a relaxed place to eat alone or with family or friends!!

Great Service and Good Food. Endless meats. The pineapple and garlic bread were great. Looks like they are starting to update the decor. The flashing lights around the bar were alittle distracting along with the ribbon along the ceiling. It wasn't busy at all for a Friday Night. The chafing dishes could be shined up and bar refreshed. Overall a good experience and will definitely go back.

Rio De Grill checks all the boxes for me. It had a relaxed atmosphere ☑️ It had very polite and helpful staff ☑️ It had delicious food ☑️ Some family favorites were the sirloin, shrimp, and pineapple Side note the parking lot is not the easiest to get out of if you have never been there before. One of the exits leads onto a one way street that is not very clearly marked so watch out for that.

This was my first time going to this establishment. I honestly had no idea what to expect. We were first seated from the door by a very lovely hostess who asked if we had ever been there. When we told her we were first timers she informed us of how the process works and took our drink orders. The salad bar is awesome, with a section for make your own green salad, one side for pasta salads and seafood, a section of fruits and the last section for desserts. We went for lunch but the menu of meats was still a good selection to choose from. If you've never been here, the staff is very nice and attentive. We will be going back for dinner at some point.

Unique experience. Bend over backwards for their customers. Some meat done a bit different and a tad dry for the type is is, like chicken, but seasonings make up for it. Kept mine and my friends plates full at all times, to the point we had to flip the little triangle to tell them to slow down. I'm not one to really go to Brazilian places to eat, I'm not really an "adventurous" eater. This place deserves an honest review after eating there for a business group. Initial thoughts: I walked in, and it was clean. Its a little dark in there, but lighting was overall really nice. The buffet bar sits front and center as you walk in and appears to be well stocked with foods. This is when I notice that most of the employees here are of an Asian ethnicity and not a Brazilian. To some, this may matter, but to me I didn't really care. We were seated promptly, this may be because we went on a week- night. The table was set and we got our drinks. The dining experience: We got up to hit the buffet. It had all sorts of things, some are actually Brazilian foods, but others aren't really. The salad bar was presented well, and was very clean. I'd recommend the Mango Vinaigrette they have on the bar. We sat down, and flipped the table topper to green, to signify that we were ready for meat. The nice thing about places like this, is its an all you can eat experience, but you don't have to get up anytime you want something more. I honestly was expecting all sorts of random items to come out on a skewer, but they started simple, and brought forth a nice piece of garlic bread. It was perhaps one of the best pieces of garlic bread I've ever eaten. They brought lamb, cooked really nicely. They had sirloin steak. Very tender, but cooked a little too rare. Gordan Ramsey would not be pleased to see how red it was. You can tell they don't season their meats very well, but the taste is pretty spot on. I tried all the meats, save the chicken hearts. I couldn't bring myself to do that, but if you have tried them, you might like them. Those in my group enjoyed them. Refills were brought very promptly, as I ate and the pineapple was amazing. If they bring you pineapple on the skewer, you better try it, even if you don't eat pineapple. I probably ate 5 whole pineapples with how much addicted to the stuff I was. The problems with this place were few, They bring you food very quickly, not allowing you to really have time to eat what you have, and your plate piles up. Because of this, I only was able to go to the buffet once. They were nice, but they had some hard to understand accents, so make sure you bring your listening ears, and expect to pay good money. Give it a try, Overall, a 4 star experience.

There is a buffet and then they bring around an assortment of meats - all you can eat!! The dinner is around $30 but if you go before 3:30, you can get the lunch portion for around $15! I highly recommend the garlic bread!

This is my new favorite place to eat. I posted several pics. The price is great and the food is like a 5 star. True Brazilian, the painted pin sits on the table for all you can eat, Green means go and Red means stop. Every 5 minutes the server brings by a new skewer of meats or other delicacies. Fantastic experience! Never having been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, it was different than other dining places in Charleston. The salad bar was very clean with many unique selections not found on other bars around town. My husband tried all of "The meats" offered and were delicious. Although there were desserts on the bar, it was the grilled pineapple that was the sweet ending. Service was excellent, well trained and attentive to patrons. I believe they really enjoy making it a dining experience.

This is 1 of my top 5 restraunts right now. It is a fantastic lunch option! This is the only brazillion steakhouse I've been to so I dont know how to compare it in that aspect, but it is an overall excellent dining experience. They have a selection of about a dozen things (meats, bread) that they bring directly to your table and they keep bringing it until you say to stop. The prime rib is phenomenal, the garlic bread is delicious, and the sweet, grilled pineapple is incredible! The best part is that lunch here only runs about 15$ which is well worth it. The dinner is a bit pricey, but they throw on some additional items not offered for lunch.

Better for lunch than dinner. The selection is smaller and less diverse but faster service is available with more opportunity to ask for more of the meat you actually want. The grilled pineapple is an absolute must as well as their cheesy garlic bread, so good! I frequently forgot the customs and countries when it came to the green/red knob so pay attention when they are explaining it or be apologetic like me.

A unique dining experience. Staff presents various meats (lamb, steak, pork loin, chicken, etc.) skewered on a long sword carved at the table. Pineapples and breads are served this way too. There's a buffet for salads, veggies, and desserts. Some of it wasn't seasoned the way I like my meat, but the next round can make up for the last as they continue to bring fresh hot selections from the grill. It's a bit pricey at $40 each, but you'll leave stuffed with good food.

I would understand if the place was packed. But we were they're for lunch, we were 1 of maybe 3-4 parties out of the entire restaurant.

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our 4 year anniversary for lunch, and the food was amazing! The prime rib, pineapple, and garlic bread was our favorite part! The staff were friendly, and whatever we wanted more of, they brought it right out to us. The prime rib has the perfect crust and medium rare center, the pineapple has brown sugar and cinnamon, and the garlic bread was just the right amount of garlic and butter. Highly recommend! We will be back to try their dinner in the near future!

Stopped here on our way home to Ohio. Pretty decent, the salad bar is good size and they do carve large portions of meat. We have been to other Brazilian Steakhouses where they carve slivers of meat instead... Biggest downfall is that they sever pepsi products and not coke 😅. Also, all the negative reviews about this not being a Brazilian BBQ are correct... because its not... it's a steakhouse. Also, it was obvious that this was previously a chinese restaurant but, I'm not sure why there are no many negative reviews in that part.

This restaurant is something of an adventure. As far as I could gather from a long conversation with the front supervisor, the service style is Brazilian moreso than the cuisine itself. A variety of meats are brought to the table--steak, roasts, lamb, pork, chicken. The servers bring them around on s skewer and slice, you grab the meat with supplied tongs while he finishes slicing and you put the meat on your plate. They keep coming until you place the little table ornament red side up. It's all you can eat with a salad bar stocked with the usual greens and some fine seafood and other salad combos, several hot sides, soup. Much of the meat was on the medium well side, but I think you can ask for rarer. Very tasty, minimal seasoning. Beware though, it's pricey--$30 for meat plus salad bar or$14 for salad bar only.

$$$ This 3-1/2 star place is worthy of return visits. It's a Brazilian steakhouse and that means there's an endless supply of food about to come your way. There's no menu as such, you order "with meat" or without. Step over to a loaded salad bar and pile up a plate then await an endless train of waiters bringing various tasty meats on skewers to you. You'll only want small portions because there is so much yet to come and this meat train continues until you wave them off. All the attention we received made for a great experience at our large table of twelve and it was easy for our gluten-free people to navigate the choices. They have a full bar but unfortunately there was no bartender the night we were there -- that chore was left to the waitstaff and they were slow and came up short for those of us wanting a decent mixed drink. Don't overlook this place, ya gotta check it out.
