Reviews of Pies & Pints - Charleston, WV
Dinesh Ghimire
Its great. We eat chicken wings, nachos, mushroom and chipotle chicken pizzas 🍕. Wings had a smoky flavor, liked it. Loved nachos 😊 Mushroom pizza was great but chicken pizza was just ok. Dry and normally big pieces of chicken, not properly blended with pizza.
Hospitality was great. I loved the way waiters were taking care of the customers.
Good for groups too, we were 7.
Definitely a place to try. $$ restaurant

Had a stop over in Charleston, WV and fell upon Pies & Pints. We were pleasantly surprised. The vibe was fun and lively, the service was friendly and the food hit the spot. Shockingly the salad was absolutely top notch, crisp vegetable and well balanced. The pizza of course hit the spot, their classic had roasted mushrooms and banana peppers on a pepperoni wheel which tasted great. Of course as the name states, their selections of pints was on point. Highly recommend checking them out.

They have the best char-grilled chicken wings!! I myself finish all of it, without sharing! It’s so much flavorful and juicy in side, just can’t stop. And their pizza is amazing too! We ordered mushroom garlic, it was so good! It takes some time to wait for food, so not for people with busy schedule.

Another dependable and delicious establishment of pies and pints! Quick, friendly service, good beer and delicious pizza all added up to a great dining experience! The only disappointment was they didn't have the home made blue cheese some others do. But the gorgonzola was just about as good with their excellent wings! Definitely a staple, would recommend.

Excellent thin crust pizzas. My wife and I tried different pizzas and both of us thought it was one of the best we have ever had. Also they have a huge beer and wine selection. Service is solid. Definitely a must try place.

Pies and Pints is a great pizza bar. My favorite things here are the Pizza Skins (think potato skins but on slices of bizza crust) and the Grape and Gorgonzola pie. Their seasonal offerings are always worth a try too. Today we tried their Date Night pie and I enjoyed it quite a bit. If you don't really like sweet things, this one may be too much for you, but I liked it.
One great thing about Pies and Pints is if you want to try something new but aren't sure you'll like it, you can always do a half and half pie with something you know you like, which is what we did this time with their Chicken Gouda pie.
We've been here several times and I don't remember having a bad experience once. Give them a try if you haven't, they're great.

Pies & Pints has absolutely delicious pizzas. I've never had a bad choice here. If you are comfortable dining in, this location also typically stocks a wonderful selection of local beers. I highly recommend Pies & Pints to anyone visiting Charleston! (We last ordered a large pizza - half Grape & Gorgonzola, half Heirloom Tomato)
Mary Mitchell-Hamaker
The food was delicious! The atmosphere here is great, there is a bar for that type of visit and booths for privacy and tables for all others. And I can't say enough for the service we received, he was fabulous! No complaints!

OH. My. Word!
We loved it. We were in town for one night. We met our oldest son & his family 1/2 between our homes to pick up our Grandkids for a few weeks. Our original plan was to order pizza from the hotel, hang out there and swim. However, we arrived earlier than planned and decided to go out.
My husband Googled pizza places and found this place & one other. We chose the "other places" because it was closer to our hotel. We got there & it was carry-out & delivery only. My husband missed that part, LOL.
So, onward we went to Pies & Pints. So glad we did! It was fabulous. The streets of downtown were blocked off, there were tents set up with tables to eat outdoors, and games galore!
The first thing we saw, down the street was some families outside playing bags. We turned the corner from the FREE parking garage and saw these cool miniature golf pads. Each created by and themed for area businesses. And guess what - it's FREE to play!
We checked in at Pies & Pints and was told about a 40 minute wait. My sons and I headed to the bar to pick out some craft beers. Not being from here, we had no idea what we'd like and their description of the choices is non existent. BUT - we got to try ANY of them we wanted!! The bartender was excellent. He described each one we asked about, gave us tastings and was fun to interact with. They even allowed us to walk around the street to play putt putt with the grands while we waited.
Our table was ready in 42 minutes, long enough time to get in 6 holes & be ready for another beer. We were seated outside which worked out well for the Grands to make friends and be entertained while we waited for our pizzas.
We started with the rosemary flat bread with goat cheese which BTW goes perfectly with their lemon hefeweizen. Our server was RIVER (trust me you want to ask for him) & he hit it out of the park. He was personable, busy yet engaging, gave incredible suggestions, and never let our drinks run out!
We went for the Street Corn & the Margherita pizzas. However River told us to add pepperoni and balsamic drizzle to the margherita. When they were delivered (by another server) he quickly came over to make sure it was correct & whisked the margherita away because they forgot the balsamic. Let me tell you it, we were glad he did because it was AMAZING!
Both our pizzas & the experience were definitely worth the drive, the wait for a table & the wait to eat. We absolutely enjoyed our time here and will gladly be back when traveling through.

The pizza and nachos were amazing and the staff was wonderful, we were even seated 20+ minutes early. Everyone I've spoken with in Charleston has told me to come try this spot and I was not disappointed at all.
I'd highly recommend giving this place a shot and definitely go for the half and half specialty pizza options to maximize all those options.
Jennifer Curfman
Root Beer is the best I've EVER tasted, I regretted not being able to bottle it and take some with me. The pizza and appetizer were excellent and the service was prompt and friendly from beginning to end.
Timothy Jones II
This was a fantastic place to eat. I had two of the signature pizzas. The red grape and gorgonzola (Picture included) was strangely amazing. The Nashville hot was great as well. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend it.
Glenn Mercado
Coffee was okay. Good selection of craft beers. Our order went to the wrong table and had to wait longer than expected . Wasn't too happy with that but the server was nice and remorseful about the mishap. We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza and it was better then what you get in the area. The crust had a little more garlic taste to it then a traditional pie but it was still good. Hoping next time we have a better overall experience.
Michael Scarboro
Flat bread appetizer was a meal in itself, but we went big with Pine & Swine. Perfect crust. Bacon best I’ve had on pizza and pineapple does belong on pizza. Great 🍺 selection. …
Trevor Groves
Sat at the bar with my mom recently. Had pizza, salad, & peanut-butter chocolate cake. Homemade root beer. Great food & root beer. There are TVs at the bar
Shalonda Norman
Great atmosphere and service! Food was yummy! I am doing Whole30 and found great options by skipping the bread/cheese/dressing on this Greek Salad. The wings were unbelievably good!!
Don Rogers
Street parking. Handicap accessible. Vegan options. Salad and pizza were very good. The garlic bread was so-so. Staff was friendly, but a little slow (it was busy while we were there). Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Lots of beer choices.
Elizabeth Howard
This is an excellent restaurant; arguably one of the best in town. The menu is extensive, the selections all mouth watering and the service energetic and helpful. Thai Shrimp pizza, Grape pizza and Steak pizza were all delicious and perfectly matched the descriptions found on the menu. Highly recommend.
Ryan
Delicious pizza. Friendly bartender. Place was busy so expect a slight wait to be seated. I’d go back again!
Jeff Varnadoe
Very good place! Our server was awesome. She was very attentive to all our our needs. We had 18 people. The day before Thanksgiving. She was super. The food was awesome!
Ellen Edwards
We arrived right at 6pm on a Thursday and it was not very busy, only a handful of tables. It got much busier by the time we left just after 7 so my guess is it's a popular place for locals and visitors alike. We would have sat outside but a pop-up thunderstorm had just rolled through so all the outside seating was soaked. Inside, since it wasn't very busy, all the guests were seated pretty far apart which we appreciated during covid times.
The wait staff was sweet and friendly, they all interacted well with our rambunctious toddler. The pizza was delicious and fresh, didn't take terribly long to make, and we really liked that they let us do a half-and-half specialty pizza since my husband and I like different things. The beer selection was amazing, lots of local and national craft brews, something for everyone. Definitely our kind of place. The kids menu was great. Not only did it come with Crayola crayons (a big plus for toddler parents), but they had a pizza plate that had pizza cheese, grapes, pineapple, and choice of protein, which was a perfect meal for our kid.
As it got busier while we were there, it started taking longer to get things from the server, which we totally understand these days and don't fault them for at all. I'm just glad we went fairly early (for us) and everything turned out wonderful. Will definitely come here again if we're ever passing through Charleston 😊
Christopher Harder
Amazing pizza! Great beer selection! Server was kind and friendly! Service was phenomenal! Will be back next time we're around! I thoroughly enjoyed the crust!
Nashville hot chicken pizza was delicious as was the brunch pizza!
Shawn Futrell
We got the potatoes pizza appetizers. Also the wings. Both were great! Also got a pine &swine/classic pizza. Service and food were great
Bob Rawl
Great place. We're staying at the Fairfield inn and suites and this was on their pages of restaurants. It is Easter at about 7pm. They are open until 9, regular hours. Had a large Mushroom, Onion, Sausage, well done. Excellent! Our server Elysse was friendly and responsive. Brought refill soft drinks timely. Would definitely go back!
Desi Miller
First time here after many people told us it was worth a visit. We waited 25 mins on a late Sunday afternoon. We got the nachos and a half and half pizza, one half chipotle chicken the other steak and mushroom. The pizza was great, crust with fluffy and flavors balanced really well, the steak was even cooked medium well and in large pieces which added to taste and presentation. Nachos were good but probably wouldn't order again, sauce wasn't our favorite and the shredded cheese ended up cooling pretty fast and creating one giant blob if toppings. For the size of the portions the price seemed reasonable but on the higher end. Service was friendly. Found parking at Charleston City Parking garage on Dickenson street (free on weekends).
Tulio Maradiaga
Came from out of town, and I saw the great reviews about their famous Char-grill wings and they were really good, definitely 100% recommended.
Jacob Henry
Pizza was delicious. Also ordered draft root beer and it was so good. Our pizza was garlic mushroom on one side and pine and swine on the other.
Kathleen Stancik
Enjoyed a great meal while enjoying the wonderful weather on the patio with our dogs. The hot wings are just the perfect heat to go with their great draft beer. The specialty pizza pies are fabulous! Shared a large pie with my husband. He went with the "Classic" while I went adventurous with "Mediterranean Shrimp". Loved it! Pierce provided great service too. Highly recommend.
Carol N.
Excellent service and food was excellent as well. We got a large half mushroom garlic and half pine and swine. Also a nice selection of beers on tap.
Dee J
Delicious Food & WONDERFUL customer service. I would like to take a moment to recognize & thank a gentleman by the name of Tyler, he showed me and my family excellent customer service by walking my order down to me during a Christmas parade when all the streets were blocked off and I couldn’t make it to the store to pick up. This was such a special moment for me because I have a child with special needs that has safe foods and pizza is one of them. Tyler, thank you for being so kind and willing to accommodate us during the chaos of the parade. You are much appreciated and I hope management recognizes your hard work & dedication to customers. We will definitely return back to this establishment. THANK YOU TYLER! ❤️
jeremy kennison
Amazing pizza. The wings were pretty good, but the street corn pizza was phenomenal.
Andrew D
It was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The waiter Darius was incredibly friendly, and very good at his job.
Charlamayne
My mom and her fiancé had lunch here today and we all commented what excellent service we received from Darius! The food was delicious too and I’ve always enjoyed the vibe here.
Kirk Smith
This place is hard to beat. Incredible, original wings accompanied by some well thought out pizza. The service was very good. The location makes you feel at home and inspired. But, wow!! Those wings and pizza were simply fantastic. I can't recommend this place enough.
H Hosier
Wow! This is the best pizza crust I think I've ever had! And I've had a lot lately. 😅 It was a perfect mix of crunchy and soft, thick and thin. I'm not quite sure how they made it so perfectly. And the flavors were such an amazing mix of goodness.
The service was great as well - very friendly, quick, and helpful. I only wish there were more seats outside this evening since the weather was gorgeous. 😏🌞
Karen Berg
This was a really fun place. We went with friends from the area. I was expecting the regular type of options for pizza and this was definitely a bit upscale from what I am used to. We ordered the Cuban Pizza and our friends ordered the grape and gorgonzola. It was great pizza. I certainly can't say anything against it. Just understand that this is not a place where you would go to get what many people would consider traditional toppings on a pizza.
David Crandall
Was in Charleston for work and some colleagues recommended this place. Was sat quickly and Mia was my waitress. Great service and awesome food. The beer list was more expansive than I realized. Wish I would’ve found this place on my first day in town. Don’t miss out on great food and beer.
Duane Eberhard
This pizza is great! The crust is amazing. We got half Cuban, half mushroom garlic, and half pine swine, half bacon black olive. They also have great beers.
Whittni Barnett
Half margarita pizza and half pepperoni. The margarita pizza was so good! 🤤
First time eating here and we didn't regret it. Highly recommend
Jessica Coleman
Went once in July (during a festival) and it was so busy, we weren't able to get a table, but were able to get a drink at the bar. This second time we got to get a drink while we waited about 30 minutes and it was definitely worth the wait! We had the elote pizza and I can't even begin to describe to you how amazing it was. Staff both times have been very patient, kind, and attentive!
BRADLEY BURCK
I’ve been eating at this place for about 10 years. It seems like the one solid choice when in Charleston. It is unique, cool neighborhood, food is always tasty and what u would expect in a big city. Ate their last night with my teenage daughter. She loves the food, the bookstore next door, and the ice cream shop across the street.
Kacie Tafer
We are here last weekend and absolutely loved it. Their signature pizzas all seemed really interesting and creative. We went with the “Italian” and we were blown away by the aioli and the fresh herbs on this pie. Superb combo! Our server was great! Very knowledgeable on the local brews. We ate on the patio which was super picturesque. Overall great meal!
Stephanie Danz
Best Hot Mama pie that I've ever had! It was served piping hot! Shared a Greek salad. Our drinks came right away. Service was outstanding and fast! Highly recommend!
Joe Boadle
5 out of 5 stars x 2. We were told this was a good place to eat. This place is a spectacular place to eat. Amelia giving you a shout out for your suggestions and your top notch service. 1st visit, will not be the last! See y'all again real soon.
Eric Mark
Out of this world pizza and stellar beer selection. They get top points from me for going out of their way to accommodate my mother's mobility when the table we had been waiting for was too high for her to reach and they found us another on an extremely packed evening; and they took very good care of my father who has a gluten allergy. I'll be back as soon as I can!
Will Hoo
Great pizza! The crust is amazing, and the variety astounding. Whatever you get is housemate, and great quality. You won't be disappointed.
The service was a little lacking, but I'll give that a pass for my first visit.
Steven Smeltz-Zapata
Pizza Yes. Beer Yes. Go and you will be pleased.
This place has a as unique approach to pizza. They use gourmet ingredients in cool combinations. I’m sure you can get the standard, routing pizzas like pepperoni, sausage, etc. but why?! These cool flavors are great! I had their version of a Hawaiian pizza. It has feta cheese, bacon, pineapple, and ham. I got the sauce on the side and did some dipping.
They have a great selection of beer as well. I had Bitbutger on tap yum.
For your information, those nachos are almost enough to feed a small army.
The wait was expedient.
The people were helpful and knowledgeable.
The atmosphere is loud and social.
There are multiple seating options.
Parking is typical for a downtown area.
I’ll be back.
Steven Truax
$25 appetizer pizza skin was just a pizza crust with bacon and cheese with some sour cream to dip into. The other pizza street corn was good. Didn't expect to pay almost $100 for 2 people though.
7th floor is no more Q
We ate the peppadew pizza and it was amazing.
Definitely one of the best pizza restaurants I've visited.
From out of state but if I come through again they will get my money
Joslyn Heersche
Everything was top notch! Pizza was the best I have had in 20 years. Staff was the friendliest. Beer was delicious. Just perfect! Pizza Skins appetizers are pictured. Those were fabulous as well! Going back today.
Linda Oberg
I have to say they had the best flat bread appetizer I have ever had! Perfect texture to the crust and the spread was delicious! Ordered the small spinach salad which was also very good!
Jon Quinones
A Gem! Great everything! Food and selection were superb and the staff was very polite and and knowledgeable. Don't read any further. This is what you were looking for. Don't let this one be a regret. Def eat here.
Buddy Arthur
This is our go-to place to eat when we are in Charleston. We have eaten here over a dozen times and the experience is always great. The food is absolutely delicious and they have one of the best beer selections in town. What puts the experience over the top is the great staff and their friendly and efficient service. I would recommend this location to anyone.
Michael B
This was my first time here. This eatery was recommended by hotel staff where I'm staying. I ordered take out and couldn't wait to dig in:) The pine and swine pizza was off the chart awesome!! The pineapple wasn't canned it was fresh and sweet. The smoked bacon was unbelievable. The cheese, sause and crust was amazing! One of the best pizza pies I have ever had.
The grilled wings were very good as well.
I recommend this place mucho!!
Thanks for a great meal!
Brianna McCabe
We had a super yummy and unique meal here. Our waiter helped us find the right beer for us, and we enjoyed every moment of our pizza and wings. Unlike anything we've eaten back home in South Central PA.
Becky Lusher
Was told the wait would be 30-45 minutes and it was about 40 but it was well worth the wait. (Friday Eve arrives around 7:50) The place was slamming busy even when we left after 9. First visit but hopefully not my last. We tried the garlic bread with cheese (came with pizza sauce to dip), wings, Caesar Salad, pizza half pepperoni half mushrooms. It was all DELICIOUS. Server was great. Bathroom clean. Everyone seemed to enjoy their job and each other. Had outside seating as well but we were in. Only negative comment is it could have been cooler. It was quite stuffy/hot inside.

Our first visit to Pies & Pints while visiting Charleston and it's the best pizza I have ever had. Thin and crispy crust!!! We have the Thai, Margarita, Shrimp Sriracha, Cheese and Pepperoni. However what almost stole the show was the appetizer called pizza skins! Our service was great and Erin took care of our large group with ease. Highly recommend...and has a great bear selection too!
Nathan Ramirez
Really cool spot in Charleston, street parking was close and free on the weekend. We were able to grab a seat for two relatively fast, it was super crowded but we were not in a hurry. We ordered wings and pizza, the wings weren't anything to write home about but the dip was fantastic, and the pizza was some of the best I've had. Great selection of craft beers, draft and bottle, as well as a wide variety of OH & WV based breweries.
Kaleigh Conly
Gluten free food and drink choices. Everything was excellent.
Sheridan Kerley
Some of the best pizza I’ve had! Stopped in while visiting from GA. Would definitely recommend and hope to make it back to try some of their other pizzas one day.
Athena McAfee
First time here, I would definitely come back. The size of the place is deceiving, it’s bigger than what it appears. It is on the louder side with all the conversations and close proximity of the tables. The staff is friendly. The pizza is a thinner crust with choices that are fresh and fun. There’s only metered street parking or you have to find a garage. If you’re in town it’s the place to go.
Justin Budikentjana
Some of the best pizza that I have ever had in the United States. Their Chargrilled wings with the gorgonzola dip are amazing here too. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas here and there's an option for every palate. Even if you don't want the pizzas from the menu there's even a make your own. If you go on a weekend expect long waits for a table.
Jonathan Erdman
A must stop for a casual lunch or dinner if you are in Charleston. The Chicken Gouda was probably the best combination of flavors I’ve ever had in a pizza. And the crust was perfect and not overly crispy like other gourmet pizza places. Others in our party said the Caesar salad was the best they’d ever had. From a customer service perspective we had to wait a long time. We had 11 in our party so I’m sure that didn’t help. The bartender saw our kids had been waiting patiently and gave each of them a tap root beer on the house. That was so nice! And that is what sealed the 5th star for me. This place makes everyone feel so welcome. Like family. They have a sticker on the front that says all are welcome. Great food. Fun atmosphere. Great customer service. It was a short walk from the Embassy and we will be back the next time we are in town.
darnocs 1
Amazing food and fantastic selection of drinks! I stopped in just for a drink the other day and they had exactly what I wanted. I returned for pizza tonight and it was INCREDIBLE. Very delicious. And staff is extremely friendly and kind. I will definitely be coming back here, both by myself and with friends!
Sumiko Clark
We're new to the area and stumbled upon Pies and Pints when our 9-year-old choose pizza for her date night with Mommy and Daddy. Best pizza I've had in years! The crust is thin and crispy and so flavorful that you won't want to leave a plate full of crusts. The Greek salad was amazing and big enough for the three of us to share. Probably could've shared with one more person and had enough. Atmosphere is laid back--perfect for families, business lunch, or hot date night.
Gabriel Montoya
Pizza was amazing!!! Definitely recommend the Thai shrimp one we had. Service was excellent and everyone was super friendly and attentive.
Jeffrey Melito
I wasn’t expecting much being from the Northeast, but the pizza was great! I got the shrimp and basil one. The our service was terrific. The location was perfect. This place is definitely worth the visit. I’ll be back
Shannon Hoffman
The pizzas are awesome.the salads are loaded and huge. They sell pizza by the slice weekday afternoons. Also beer by the pitcher
Adam Gosney
This place HAS to be on your agenda if you’re in town. Best pizza I have ever had. Bartender was awesome and suggested great beers and great suggestions on food. Highly HIGHLY recommend!
Lauren Mulvihill
We stopped in while driving through WV and we’re pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very laid back and chill while the staff played right into that. Our waitress was fun, friendly and witty. She had great recommendations from beer to specific pairings. My SO bad the Black IPA which began fruity and ended with a darker bite. We’ve traveled extensively trying different beers and this one stood out. They had a great local and east coast selection of beers along with a diverse options from all categories. As for the food we settled on the “Cuba Gooding Jr” which was a half of the Cuban Pork and half of the Chicken Gouda. It was slightly over cooked (or maybe they didn’t have enough cheese?) but was delicious regardless. It is a bit pricier but they don’t skimp on anything so we had no problem paying $25 for the pie.
Wish we lived closer so we could stop by more often!
Carrie Buisman
Not sure what the big fuss is about. Every time I tell anyone I’m coming to Charleston, they tell me “you have to try pies and pints! It’s the best pizza ever”! So I did. Best pizza? No. Good? Yea - it wasn’t bad. Sauce was kinda just flung on there on the top so it didn’t get on every section. I made my own with bacon and ham and had a side of what I thought were potato skins. They were a potato skin PIZZA. Now that was kinda interesting. It had real mashed potatoes on it too. No to shabby. Reg pizza was ok. I guess for the $30 I paid, I expected something amazing. What I got was.....well pizza.
Leontrae Smith
Had a great waiter named Darious Adkins(not sure if that’s how you spell it) but he was very friendly and nice and helped us out a lot and gave us a good time after our school played at the civic center. give him a raise
Karina Congdon
The best pizza and the best beers 😍
My husband and I had dinner there this week, we had a great greek salad, a large pizza (half chicken and half pork) and had amazing beers, my favorite was the chocolate one! …
Heather white
What a great place! Food is fantastic and service was wonderful! The garlic/cheese garlic bread is delicious. Margareta pizza was outstanding!
Dan Mounce
More and more I see downtown areas being populated by some great places to eat. Love the area and what a great job these guys have done with the place. The food was great. Lots of choices and not just pizza. They do step up what they do with food. It is worth a visit. Cool place, great staff, and service was good. Not far off the highway and parking is free after 5:00 pm, weekends and on city holidays for garages owned by the city of Charleston. Lots better than fast food any day of the week.
Mario Kato
Great place to hang while in Charleston WV.
Cold beers ,great staff and a friendly ambience.
Had the grilled wings: Spicy yet not overwhelming.
Great char and just enough spice.
Beers are cold and the bartender is always willing to give great recommendations.
Richard Beam
I got the large Caesar salad to share with my wife. It was HUGE, and delicious. The pizza with double pepperoni was excellent, one of the best I've eaten. The pizza crust was very good. The on tap root beer was very tasty. We will return.
Burke Mitchell
Pork and pepper nachos are a amazing way to break your vegan or plant based diet. Love the tasty thin crust pies. Half artichoke special and chicken gouda with bacon. A great selections of brews. Had to drive so only one but 2 more to go. I do recommend
Erika Comdohr
The street corn pizza is amazing!! I love their different types of pizzas. The crust is soo good and crispy. They also have a great beer menu. Cant wait to try more of their pizzas!
Sharleen Tufts
This place is so unique and amazing!!!!! I cannot say enough about the pies! Oh, and then there is the ricotta!!! This pizza is song worthy! I am not a musician but you get my point...
Christina T
My experience here was good!
Pies and Pints is a regional chain. This is my first time visiting one. I like that they have a lot of unique pizzas and a variety of beer (mostly local) on tap. The dry-rub siracha wings are also quite good! I think I would like to try another location when I see one in town since it seems like the menu and beer selection will vary somewhat based on location.
I recommend!
Franni
the pizza here is excellent- some of the best i’ve had in a long time! i came on a very busy saturday night but the staff at the bar was still so friendly and let us sample as many beers as we wanted and provided tons of recommendations. i will definitely be back the next time i’m in charleston!
Melani Lippard
Google deleted my first draft, so here is the best I can do now: Pizza was delicious. Service was good. I would recommend.
I forgot to take a picture before we started eating. It looked and smelled that good!
Stephen Tucker
Get some, come and taste for yourself.
Small salad is large, lord help us on the large salads.
Good brick oven cooking, kids welcome
emmanuel velez
One of my favorite pizzas from my long roadtrip (Chicago to DC in more than 10 different pizza and beer restaurants)
Jason Neukom
I come to Charleston every couple of months for work and always try to make time to eat here. It always tastes great, I love the pizza style, especially the crust and the creative variety of toppings!
Nathan DeHart
Recommended to us by locals. Ordered the wings appetizer along with a large pizza (half sriracha shrimp, half cuban pork). It was all very good, but the Sriracha Shrimp pizza is the winner in my book. It was so good, we ordered two more pizzas to go so the rest of the family could partake.
Richard Abernathy
This spot is LEGIT. You will NOT be disappointed. They offer an extensive menu and the service is OUTSTANDING! I'm glad I popped during a business trip in the area. THE FOOD IS AMAZING! 😎😎😎 …
Sandra Williams
The pizza was unusual and delicious. I had the Street Corn pizza and the Greek salad and they were both very tasty.

I had Chicken Gouda pizza.. absolutely delicious! Great beer selection. Enjoyed outdoor seating since weather is nice. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Will eat there again next time in Charleston WV.
Lucas Conly
Food was great!
Be advised of was very busy on Saturday night, we waited an hour and forty five minutes, but the downtown was fun to explore.
Tim Wooddell
Just moved back here from Houston TX after being away for 32 years.
I went here for the first time a few weeks ago and this restaurant by far has the best pizza I've ever had.
I'll definitely become a regular customer at this pizza restaurant, great food and friendly staff.
Tony Guzman
Had the gluten free pizza and really wasnt that good. Left most of it on the serving pan. The server was amazing. Noise level was loud. Not recommended for gluten-free but havent tried the regular pizza. Place was very busy. Might give it another try.
Belle Duvall
100000000% AMAZING 👏 love the gluten free pizza kinnikinnick brand!
Gluten free, peanut free, tree nut free, dairy free!! Soy free!!
Amazing
Mia was my server and she did amazing. I will come back!!
Raja Gorla
Grabbed pizza and wings for To go. Awesome taste.
Igor Grigoryev
Pretty please for having a good meal and time alone, friends, and family.
Daniel Drew
What a great place. The service was excellent, the beer selection was amazing, and it was one of the best pizzas I have had.
Nicole Bostic
Have been telling my foodie of a fiance that he has to try this place. Finally got to eat there and they did not disappoint!!! Everything was great including the service! Richard was our server.
Matt Bohach
Have a go 4 stars for a couple reasons. First the food was very good but perhaps not as good as they say. No prices on the menu. Really? You don't sell lobster here. Small salads are $10+ and bigger than any restaurants' dinner salad. Would be nice if they told you how big and how much when you order one. The salad was excellent though. The pizza was very good. It was not excellent. Cool that you can see it cooking in their unique oven. Price for the pizza is fine for what you get. Beer selection is great and nice and cold! Still recommend you try this place if you're in the mood for pizza and beer.
Graham Peck
Awesome beer selection and incredibly good pizza. The waiter was quick to give recommendations and his did not disappoint.
Neat beer display with mostly steel cans from decades ago.
Mark Basile
What is an ideal pizza and beer place like? This place. If you like thin crust and a beer selection you have plenty to chose from here. Lively atmosphere but able to easily have a one on one conversation. Outside seating is definitely worth taking advantage of with the right weather.
Joseph Meister
Amelia was amazing. Helpful, witty, joyful, and very attentive, but not in a pushy way. She was intuitive with questions as well! Wife said we will be back!!!
George Hacker
We visited Pies & Pints last summer when we were on vacation. Excellent artisan pizza. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area. Their food makes this restaurant a destination.
Not Sure
Not as good as it used to be, kinda tasted like Lilttle Ceasars but $25 for a single large. Waitress was excellent and in top of it!
David Sanders
Best wings in the Kanawha valley! The atmosphere is always busy and noisy, so if you like a quiet meal it may not be a first choice.
Mark Tyler
Good food and service. We had spinach salad and chicken and gouda pizza. It was very good. Would recommend.
Bill Smith
Roasted garlic and mushroom pizza was really good, the large fed my wife and i for lunch and dinner. That was our first trip and we'll go back. Next time we'll get a large half and half pizza so we can try different kinds, but only water to drink because the beer is expensive and came in sniffer glasses that made the look tiny.
Sheena Skinner
Great pizza, great wings, great service, great overall vibe. Our server (Mia I believe) was absolutely awesome! She not only took amazing care of us, but as we just recently moved into the area, she also gave us recommendations for a bunch of other local places to check out! The manager was awesome too and came over to check on our experience and to talk some football! Go Chiefs :P
The food was fantastic. I ordered the gluten free Sriracha shrimp pizza and it was delightful! The crust was soft, but not chewy, and crisp on the outside, but not stale. The toppings were a perfect blend of sweet and spicy and the wings were amazing as well!
We will definitely be back soon!
Brandon Bleile
How is this place ranked the number one restaurant in Charleston, WV???The best part of our meal was the excellent service we had from our waitress. She was friendly, helpful, and quick. Outside of that, we had a very average experience at Pies and Pints. The pizza we ordered (The Italian) was a cluster of different ingredients that all sounded good separately, but when combined together was overwhelming and not tasty. In addition to our pizza being sub par, we found out that our one large specialty pizza was $30! They didn't include the prices on the menu, but provided a QR code for you to scan to check the prices. Definitely an oversight on our end, but that would be a lot of money for the best large pizza I've ever had, let alone a sub par one. I totally understand why they don't include the prices on their menu because far fewer people would consciously order from them. I'm not sure if the rest of their menu is better priced or if we just happened to get the Rolls Royce of pizza (from a cost standpoint, not a taste standpoint), but I would be cautious to return to a Pies and Pints anytime soon.
William D'Angelo
First time in Charleston on our way home from Florida and found this gem on Capitol Street. Excellent beer and food choices and nice outdoor area to eat. Had a great meal and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back again.
Jason White
They were great to cater to Gluten Free needs for our family!
Kai-Made
I've eaten here two or three times over the last 6 months when I'm in town. It's always wonderful food wonderful service and the people are generally cheerful. But I wouldn't do justice to a review without mentioning the room for improvement. I would love to see a little extra space outside for outside eating probably not possible due to constraints on space and I wouldn't mind some acoustic tiling in the building itself because I find it hard to hear my table a bit of a noisy atmosphere not necessarily in negative just hard for me to hear. The food is great their coffee is good the cheesecake cake is to die for I have no complaints definitely recommended.
Phoebe Workman
My dad and I had another wonderful meal at Pies and Pints. The salad was delicious and the classic pizza was so tasty. They play great music & have great service. We had the server ‘Shalin’ she was a sweetheart and so funny! Thank you Pies and Pints for another wonderful meal and service!
Rick Starsick
I'm speaking for the entire family here, but this chain is absolutely the best. There's steak and mushroom pizza is a gut filler, but has all the hallmarks of a high-end restaurant pie. The atmosphere is very appealing for the internal hippie in me, and even though their menu items are expensive, it's worth every cent. Never miss one of these locations, this one and the one in Fayetteville are the best!
Robert Waer
What a new way of making pizza. The pizza we had was recommended by the waitress and was excellent.
Aaron Gumm
I've been here many times and never had a bad experience. The pizza is outstanding which you would expect from a pizza place but the salads are also wonderful and huge! I also love the large beer selection.
C Recks
Good specialty pizza. Beer selection was good.
Samantha Hendren
This pizza was great and there were plenty of good beer options on tap. Our server was knowledgeable about their beers and helped me find something I liked!
David Mccutcheon
The pizza was all very good. The caprese pizza excellent. The antipasto salad was good. The prices on the menu were not listed because they change alot. There was a scan code if needed. Only draw back on our visit was a large number of fruit Flys. Recommended for a good time like The sign says pies and pints. Very good local brew.
Duane Williams
Great selection of craft beers and really good pizza. My only "complaint" is that they do not serve Michelob Ultra, which is my favorite domestic, but Hoegaarden turned out to be a good alternative.
They are usually busy, so expect a wait, but it is worth it.
Ian Rahman
The pizzas aren’t all equally great, but mostly you won’t go wrong. The salads are actually one of my favorite things to get here, not to mention a new beer from the deep list of available brews.
Jacob Westfall
you literally can’t go wrong with their pies. they have so many exotic and crazy combinations that you wouldn’t think they would be good but they absolutely are. the one that absolutely shocked me was (my personal favorite) the grape and gorgonzola. i adore this place and their staff always does a great job.
recommendations:
their pork and pepper nachos, italian pie, and grape & gorgonzola pie
i don’t drink beer but i’ve also heard great things about their brews!
Ushma Doshi
Being vegetarian its hard to find variety in pizzas, but this place has great menu, ambience and services.
Lanre B
One of the best places to eat in downtown Charleston, WV. One of the best pizza. Their Chicken wings is one of the best. A laid back environment & customer service is excellent.
Nicki Roberts
This was delicious. We had a large group and they were very accommodating and the food was delicious.
Gail Hoover
The pizza and beer selection is amazing! They definately think outside the box! I had a hard time choosing both what to eat and drink and the waiter was beyond helpful!
Mark Bolton
Great pizza. Great staff, great environment. Be ready for a $75 bill for a couple pizzas and a couple beers. Its not your "average" pizza joint on price alone. Very spendy. Tasty, and fun, but have your wallet handy.
Austin Buckingham
Great selection of unique and familiar pizzas and beer. Friendly staff, and the food was excellent when our group ate here and we would definitely go back. Highly recommend!
Michael Kordusky
Update
This experience was much better than the last. Brandon was our server, and he was phenomenal! It was a busy night with the Regatta in town and the service was on time and the food was great thanks for an excellent experience.
Original Review (⭐⭐⭐)
Atmosphere was nice, service was good, and food was ok. Lotsa hype that I just doesn't live up to. But it's a decent place to eat with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Scott
Food was great. Guy at the bar very cool.
Bethany Adams
Between draught root beer "shots" and a BOMB pizza, we will def be returning! The Mexican St Corn pizza is WILDLY my new obsession
Kathtrina Komlofske
Pretty good beer selection although after a couple we got a warm one, however, they exchanged it no problem... pies are a bit steep but tasty and the happy hour appetizers worth it definitely try the pizza skins delicious
Timothy Patrick
The pizza is great, but the flies make for terrible company. There were so many flies, we just couldn't enjoy the food or our time there.
Tatiana Parada
Really good size portions. The nachos are great. Must stop here.
Thomas Martin
My wife and I have ate here in the past, but this last experience was the best one yet. There was no wait for a table, and the waitress we had did a wonderful job. The food was delicious and we were super impressed that the manager, Tommy, took the time to come to our table and personally make sure we had a great experience. 10/10
Shawn Maguire
Always good. The foody in you can express yourself with the design of your next great pizza complemented by a large selection of craft beer. Bring a friend, a date, or the whole family. Great customer service and the pizza chefs are amazing at what they do. Highly recommend
Laurie Buchwald
We loved this place! The white pizza with bacon was delightful, as were the grilled chicken sandwich and spinach salad. Our server (so sorry we can't remember her name) was fun and efficient. We will return!
Mark Kvitkovich
I've been going for years. It gets better every time . Highly recommend
Holly Arbogast
Soooo good!! Root beer was killer as well and service was great!
Andrews Method
Nice place, nice atmosphere! Local craft beer and amazing pizza. Vegan options (cheese) are available!🙌
carrie casto
Beer was cold. Food was hot and fresh made to order. Great selection of both.
Mike G
Very mixed review here. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Only offered a food menu ... half the restaurant name is "pints"? Food menu lists toppings, with no prices, prepare for an end meal price shock. No 10 inch pizza should end up 18.50. I thought the food was very good though, however my brother did not.
Jeff Kirby
I had lunch here with my wife and some friends. We tried multiple pizzas and all were good. The root beer that was on tap was great. Over server wasvery friendly. I recommend this place.
James Keller
Today at locally owned and operated Pies and Pints my wife and I spent our date night indulging in draft root beer, cheesy garlic bread, pizza skins and a pizza pie with pepperoni. Danny took care of us from start to finish even taking our leftover pizza and boxing it for us. Will definitely return for future date nights.
Jessica Leasure
I ❤ this place! All of the pizzas are amazing. You can never go wrong with any choice. Great beer selection also!
JD Fauls (JD)
Stopped here on a road trip while passing through. Great selection of pizza and great quality. This is a smaller chain, but the location here was great with awesome outdoor seating on a covered closed street. The wait staff was amazing, very attentive, and made multiple recommendations being understanding of our situation traveling with 4 kids. We had a small mix-up with our order but the team took care of it quickly with the waiter spotting it and alerting the manager before it landed on our table.
I'll be looking for more of these on future road trips and am hoping to find similar service elsewhere!
Kate Stone
Great service on a busy day. Friendly guys behind the bar. Had some great beer and wine options to choose from, and also a delicious draft root beer. The pizza was fantastic. They are very allergy friendly, having a gluten free AND cauliflower crust. Dairy free options too, but I didn't go for that.
All of their flavors were fantastic.
Kaleigh Chitwood
OH WOW is all I can say! What wonderful employees and incredible pizza! Highly, highly recommend the Thai shrimp pizza - just trust me. I can't recall the name of the beer we had, but our server recommended some great choices. When we visited, the street was closed down for outdoor seating (which was lovely!), but there is a parking garage around the corner to use.
Kelly Montgomery
Ok so this place is not a 5...more like a 4.3 but didn't want to give them a 4. The pizza was good. Love the crust. The waitress was nice the wait wasn't too bad to get a table.
Jamie Starcher
This was my first time here and the staff was excellent and very nice and the food is AMAZING especially the white pie! It makes me sad I live far away I can't wait for my next trip to Charleston
Cierra Griffey
Mushroom pizza was soo good. Sad I didn’t take pics to post to let it be known lol. Greek salad is great…dressing goes soo well…it’s filling and they give big portions. Had the grilled wings too…I was very pleased. Overall a great try out for dinner. Will be returning the next time I’m in West Virginia! 😍😊
Geoffrey Scott Cavender
The Pizza has been great every visit I've made and they have a very wide beer selection so you're guaranteed to find something you like!
W Anthony
Chicken Gouda pizza was absolutely perfect. Bartender provided great service and knew his beers. Awesome beers on tap.
Naquan Bell
Best pizza I've ever had. Pricey as hell though.
Tony Looch
Happy place. Greek salad with grilled chicken was great.
Faelene Ragan
I ate white pizza w sausage, onions, and mushrooms and it was AMAZING! Great crust, crispy around the rim.....YUM! Close to being the best pizza I've ever eaten and I'm from the deep dish Chicago area. Awesome beers w wide selection of drafts, craft, and bottles. I also purchased an Antipasto salad and that along the balsamic Italian dressing was fresh, crispy, and delicious. My waitress was so patient, kind, and informative. Pies & Pints is definitely a repeat (many times) for me and should be for you too 🍕
Debby Sanchioli
Delicious and excellent service! Loved it!
David McGuigan
Good selection of beer. Pizza so-so, but I am from philly. Staff pleasant and attentive. Ambience good, music not to loud
GasolineMike
This place is great! Service was outstanding and the pizza, delicious!
J L
Again - ANOTHER amazing meal! Good table in the back, great beer, great food (leftovers) & a great evening out! Already looking forward to next visit when we're in town! Started with beer, threw in an appy to split, and eventually got to ordering a pizza. Did not feel rushed & the waitress had perfect timing on drinks.
Laci Lindsay
They say the wings are the best, they are ok and the dressing was plain. Pizza was pretty good. Good selection of beers and knowledgeable waitstaff. Atmosphere was laid back and hip.
Richard Appel
On a road trip from Annapolis back to Louisville, KY. Stopped here to avoid the usual fast food fare. Pierce was a great server, answered our questions, and was very helpful. Pizza’s were creative and came out hot. Beer selection was good. All and all a pleasant little dinner before we hit the road again.
Tony Ricketts
One of our favorite places in Charleston. These are really good, really creative pies!
Eli Tyo
A truly delicious and eclectic menu of pizzas to choose from. The service was impeccable (and we had a group of 11!), the beer reco's were on point, the salad was awesome, and as previously mentioned the pizzas while strange (shrimp on a pizza, whaaaat?!?!) were all super tasty. 10/10 would recommend.
Robin Bryant
Great selection of craft beer and pizza. Not your average pizza place with unique combinations and good service.
Margie Baker-Keilitz
Always excellent food! We had a great server too!
Ronald Rollins
Best pizza in downtown Charleston. Very very good craft pizza. Park at Spiros across the street, makes it easier than meter parking.
Robust menu, kid friendly, excellent atmosphere.
Liz Crampton
Always busy, great flavors, good pizza, service is always a little slow.
Andrew Royer
Pizza has a great crust and awesome flavor profile. Service from River was on point. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Charleston.
Robbie Lambert
Good beer selection. Pizza looks phenomenal. I had a beer from big timber, which I had never heard of. Decent double ipa. Kids menu pic attached.
Nik Roth
The pizza was amazing- such unique kinds!! They have an extensive list of beers on tap. We chose local brews from Bad Shepherd and they were delicious. Would definitely go back!
EJ W
Great place for a great pizza and beer. Worth the wait.
cody wallace
Large drink menu, many toppings. The pizza is delicious as well as the beer. Our waitress was kind and active in making sure we were enjoying ourselves. One of my new faves. I could definitely get tipsy here with friends. One thing I dislike was the big mirrors. I have social anxiety, and catching glimpses of people and having to stare at myself was a bit bizarre.
DJ Bickers
Loved tis place. Delicious wings and the pie/pizza had a crispy crust and tasty sauce; VERY good. The service was incredible, a wonderful balance between attentive but not bothersome. Our server was a delightful young lady who was patient, polite and respectful. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back!
Duane Adkins
Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the Charleston area to eat and have a couple craft beers ....great atmosphere , good service , reasonably priced , and everything I've ordered was prepared perfect
Zeina
Really good pizza! It was worth the wait.
Laurie Anne
We weren't planning on eating lunch at Pies and Pints but I'm glad we did. I had a veggie grinder. I really enjoyed it. My husband had the Italian grinder he really enjoyed his. What we really were impressed with was the waiter. What a super nice guy. Fantastic service. Very knowledgeable. If you stop in make sure Chase is your server. You will not be disappointed.
Jay
Best pizza I've ever had! This is the Sriracha Shrimp Pie.
Hunter Young
Hands down the best pizza place in Charleston, they have amazing pizza, wings, and salads, we always recommend the antipasta salad with the gorgenzola dressing. When we go here we always order the chicken gouda pizza and have never had a bad experience here.
Fin
love this place. straight vibes every time i come. the hostess with blue hair is super awesome. 12/10
Zac
This is one of my absolute favorite places to go in the WV area. The food is fantastic (I'm a Cuban pork pizza guy), the staff are friendly, and the whole vibe/aesthetic just works. Also, the root beer is amazing!
christopher stanton
Cool place! I've been to a couple before and they never disappoint! Quality pizza and draft choices. Folks were super nice and accommodating.
Mark York
1st time- will be back. Our bartender/server was great. Tier 1 service and fast-- food was great!
Hannah Pratt
If you are wanting great food, short wait time, and excellent customer service… look no further! The Chicken Gouda speciality pie is a MUST if you’re debating on what to order and you can never go wrong with a classic margarita speciality pie. Mia was an incredible server, she was super attentive and even suggested we split a large pizza in half because we wanted to try two flavors. The management was outstanding and came to check on us throughout our meal. We will definitely be back!
Octavious Virdoc
The food was delicious and perfectly cooked, but the waiter seemed a bit too hyper; Coming to the table about every eight minutes to make sure we didn't need anything else, which was very disruptive. The menu also mentioned straws weren't given unless requested, but they gave us them anyway.
Justin Ingraham
Everything was okay. The wait time was an issue. We were informed it would be about 20-35 minutes. We waited just under an hour due to a waiter taking their lunch and them bring short staff. There are only two locations for a party larger than 6 or more people as well. The food was good but nothing to write home about. We got the Pizza Skins, Pizza Pie, 1/2 Sriracha Shrimp & 1/2 Chicken Gouda, 1/2 Cuban Pork & 1/2 Pine and Swine.
Mandy Martin
My family and I were blown away by the great food and service at Pies and Pints. We had the hot wings, house salad, and the chicken gouda pizza-all phenomenal. The beer selection was good as well. And the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Stephanie, was friendly and knowledgeable. We’ll definitely be back!
Shipra Brummeyer
We sat outside under the tents they had set up. I didn't think the seats were the most comfortable, but I dealt with it. The waiter was friendly and accommodated a change on one of their house pies which I thought was very nice. I ordered their featured salad (I know, I know this is a pizza and beer place) arugula & goat cheese and tbh, was a bit disappointed. It was good, but could have used another heavy/filing ingredient. There was enough of the house pie left that I was able to have a slice of it - and it was good. Didn't go inside the restarant, but great location and probably a great place to hang out with friends on a Friday/Saturday night.
Grant Erickson
Great pizza and my girlfriend claims they have good selection of sour beers.
Brad Shininger
Awesome food and service. Had the Chicken Gouda pizza and White Cheese pizzas and they were both excellent. Also appreciate that they are taking safety precautions seriously as we have two young kids. Great place to take the family.
Erin Kriz
Oh my gosh you have to get the wings!!!! They were delicious!!! My husband and I shared wings and a large spinach salad that was huge, fresh and loaded with good stuff. Also, lots of good German and local beers. Son had a really nice pizza with roasted garlic that he loved. Our server was really nice, knowledgeable and attentive.
Michael Younce
The craft pizza and the craft beer was amazing! White pie with onions and pepperoni was to die for
Ryan Steinke
Absolutely incredible area! This is a must for everyone! Great staff and atmosphere!
Kelly Crislip
Best pizza money can buy! Great food and very friendly staff. Reasonably priced. P.S. PLENTY of drink options!
D. Ace
They're customer service has consistently been top knotch , food selection diverse but most Importantly the food is healing here. Not only does the pies tastes Great! They also help my gut and energy levels. I always feel healthier after eating here, can't usually say that about pizza! Wonderful management staff as well.
Brittany Brossett
Pizza itself was pretty good but we waited over an hour for a to go order of two pizzas. Also it was almost $50 for two self serve pizza and a salad which is incredibly overpriced for what you’re getting. The staff didn’t seem concerned with how long we were waiting on our food either. Would suggest looking for other options.
Alejandra Lesher
Mia and the manager were amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t ask the managers name but he was so sweet and made sure my friend and I had the best visit and experience possible. Thank you to both! If you go Mia is an amazing server. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you for such a welcoming experience.
Gerald Hughes
Nice little place. Service was really good. Pizza wasn't bad either. Just wondered why my personal size pizza and salad bill was 30.00. They added almost 5.00 'large group charge', there were 5 of us! Just seems overpriced for what it is but I may just be spoiled by some of the other places I enjoy. I hate when they take away your option to decide the appropriate tip amount by doing it themselves, then still have a line for 'tip'. You've already decided for me! Just a pet peeve of mine is all. Overall nice little joint.
Jamie Kay
This place is awesome! Great service, atmosphere and food. The best pizza I have ever had! A must stop if you like a good craft beer also.
Ashley Jirsa
We had a quick but wonderful visit here today. The staff was really friendly and the pizza was bursting with delicious flavor. I split the black bean pizza and drank a home made root beer. My brother ate the Italian sandwich and loved it. The bread was toasted and had a great pop of flavor. The beer list looked great and I wished we didn't have to drive home.
Charity Jones
Loved this place! We sat outside; the weather was beautiful that day. We ordered the grape & Gorgonzola pizza, which was recommended by our waitress; it’s been recognized by The Food Network. So glad we ordered it! Service was good, waitress was friendly, and food was fantastic! My husband enjoyed a local brew (a brown ale) and really enjoyed it. Overall, very impressed!
Tiffany Providenti
Great food! I have a whey allergy so it was great to be able to order a pizza! Wide selection of beer as well. Only downside was our waitress was a little on the slow side getting us refills.
Claire Rebecca Anderson
The Hot Mama pizza here is delicious! Loved the simple salad, too. Courteous staff that seated us quickly and distanced everyone seamlessly. I like their text method of letting you know seats are available so you can walk around town while you wait for a table. Bathrooms were non-gendered but clean. Cute little late night spot for weary travelers.
Abha Basargekar
Visited this restaurant while passing through Charleston, and ended up with one of my favorite restaurant experiences so far. The pizza we ordered was phenomenal. The root beer was delicious too. I have to put in a special word for the amazing service - I had left something behind in the restaurant and they were happy to mail it to me at my current address since I couldn't pick it up myself. Thank you, Pies and Pints!
Deborah Schraeder
I had the wings because I knew that I would only waste food if I got a whole pizza, and they were finger licking good for real. My only suggestion would be to include prices on the menu.
Michael Bare
Delicious food and fantastic service. They were prompt taking our order. Great pricing! The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Our waitress was really nice. The food came out hot and delicious. We definitely will be back. The ambiance was fun. Perfect for a date or hanging out with friends. You will not be disappointed if you give it a try you will be wanting more! Parking was really the only issue we have, downtown Charleston needs some more lots to park in close by but we really enjoyed ourselves.
Mike Twigger
They changed their salad menu and removed spring greens only option. Had about 3/4 worth of "greens" that were "stalk of romaine". The chicken in salad was dry, hard, and bland.
Pizzas still looked good ....stick with that I guess. I think since they went regional they started cheaping out on ingredients.
Scott Stevens
Great place to grab pizza, and I'm glad we found it. Got the tater skin pizza for an appetizer, and it's quite literally a mashed potato pizza. It's outstanding and you should get one.
Sean Gertsch
Excellent pizza, good variety of toppings. Staff was really helpful when several large groups all came in at once. Quick service and very attentive.
Zuriel Garcia
First time in Charleston WV, and I experienced what I expected from a city of this size. The service and beer selection are on point, the crowd has a nice mix, energetic atmosphere. That being said , the pizza was solid, creative and classic toppings but slightly underwhelming flavor in sauce. Crust had a nice crunch with the cornmeal dusting, but maybe less focus on the different styles and more focus on flavor. I would definitely recommend when in town!
Jonathan Torska
Phenomenal pizza, and great beer. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Charleston. The chicken chipotle pizza was delicious.
jamie sansom
Excellent beer selection, both domestic and imports. Pizza was incredible. Waitress did a great job (Isabella). 10/10, would recommend.
JP Family
This place is a hidden gem in downtown Charleston. It’s our favorite place for pizza and wings. I love their Mushroom Garlic pie and lime wings with their homemade ranch. It is so good!! Great food and fantastic service. You won’t regret eating here!
The Boss
The grapes and gorgonzilla pizza is the absolute best slice of pie I've ever had in my life.
Desiree Brower
Great experience!!! Our server received bad attitude from another patron but was able to turn around and give us a smile and good service. We got a cheese pizza "for the kids" but it was so good we got a second one for us adults!
DEBORAH ADKINS
Top notch food and service (Carly is amazing!).Our crew of 4 split the caesar salad, which was fresh and flavorful. Our pies this trip were the classic and mushroom/garlic. On the latter we request balsamic glaze and fresh rosemary as an addition - scrumptious!!! Both pies were well seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Berry Williams
Great beer selection, excellent pies, and awesome service. If you're interested in pizza and a pint, don't hesitate, you won't regret it.
Leer Lifting
Best Pizza In WV!! The smoked wings are absolutely amazing as well!
Felix Wright
Great pizza and wings. Give the Italian sandwich a try. Very good.
Brian Nichols
Great selection of unique pizza and salads. Casual vibe and friendly staff. Location is very good and walkable from surrounding areas and hotels.
Rafael Levy
Good pizza, I would recommend the medeteranian shrimp, it was amazing.
Joe Smith
This is a great downtown location with very good pizza selection. I am not a fan of beer, but they had plenty of alternatives to complement the large selection of beers. Service was great and the wait was acceptable during the evening rush. I recommend the Chicken Gouda pizza.
David Lehane
Best People and Pizza in town
We always stay in Charleston WV when traveling back from NC to MI, it is a great foodie town, the reason for saying this is we are vegetarians and good cooks!
There I said it out loud, the V word.
And as vegetarians its really hard to find good food other than the token salad let alone while traveling.
Well Charleston West Virginia has an amazing array of restaurants that cover weird people like us who like to eat good food.
And this is one of them, we were arriving late on a Monday night, 9:35pm, Pies and Pints were open and treated us to the best Pizza and great local beer and even had good wine for my wife.
They treated us like we owned the place, even though we were the last ones in there, and they were staying open to not put pressure on us to leave, we loved the service it was awesome, the people really know their stuff and the Pizza was perfect, we had the Mushroom Garlic Pie, which has roasted mushrooms, feta, roasted fresh garlic, caramelized onions, fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil, mmm this is making me hungry again. A must place to visit is you like great food, great beer, good wine and awesome service.
Mia Krompecher
The pizza is good and widely varied, and the wings are great. Very social and casual atmosphere, a bit loud. The servers are attentive, but are sometimes lacking during rush hours, which is understandable. I’ve been here a few times and would recommend it.
Vengeful Devil
I'll be honest....I didn't expect this quality of pizza in the U.S. much less West Virginia. This place was packed and for good reason, the pizza was THE best I've ever had. I've been around Europe and several places in the U.S. and this is by far the APEX of pizza. Worth every penny! I just regret not being able to try their beers since I had to drive immediately afterwards.

The pizza is amazing. We tried 2 different types with the half and half option. It's definitely a place to go to get amazing pizza.
The Lexington Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is also a must if you like bourbon. I'd like to come back and try more of their food and drink options. If I ever get back to Charleston, I'll definitely come back here.

I sat at the bar and Jess was just the start of an awesome experience. She had recommended the wings and said they were voted Number 1 last year. As a Maryland native visiting WV for the first time, these wings are better than anything I had ever tasted in MD, DC, PA, DE, and VA; they may have ruined all other wings for me moving forward - totally worth it. I ordered a cheese pizza to-go and the pizza is nothing to snub at either! I think an order of wings and a small pizza will be a standing order the next time I come!

One of the very few good food places at Charleston, WV.. The bread here is tasteful and the pizzas are great. Great ambiance, service and the prices are reasonable. Had to wait sometime before I was seated.
Still remember the beer can wall from the place. Looked unique and interesting to me..
Justin S
Pizza was pretty good and the beers were good. Nothing amazing though and the serive was so-so. I'd go ago but it wouldn't be my first choice
Stacey Hammerle
Great atmosphere and amazing food! I sat at the bar for lunch where Devon and Jess kept me company. They were very attentive to any customer that came in the door and promptly greeted them as well as assist them with finding a seat or picking up their order. I was very impressed with the customer service and the quality of the staff. Had the Gorgonzola and grape pizza which may sound like an odd combination but it was wonderful! Definitely a place to which I will go back!
Brent Brash
Great Staff, never disappoints. I personally enjoy the starters and salads just as much if not more than the pizza. Their greek salad is the best I have had, and a small is large enough to eat as a meal for 1. Wings and Nachos are also go to eats! Get Some!

Great lunch on April 3, 2021. Our server, Shawn was very professional and friendly. Being a hard cider fan, I wanted to try the 2 WV hard ciders on the menu. Shawn provided useful information regarding the two options for one of the ciders. I was also pleased with how quickly the pizza came out.
Rashelle Stiltner
Never been there before but staff is great and very knowledgeable. Beers selection is very good. Had a Margherita pizza, absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back and try other options.
Josh Stapler
I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is consistent, like not just at this location but all over. I travel often between Charleston, Lexington, and Birmingham and luckily Pies and Pints exists in all three locations!! I can walk in to any of the locations, order one of the various pizzas, and know that whatever I choose will be quality.
Beyond the food they nail the atmosphere as well. They know what they want to be, a hip pizza joint with a killer selection of beers, and they embrace that. The staff even match the atmosphere which to me says it's an awesome place to work!
I have been made a happy customer time and time again here.
JB Soleda
This place knows how to make a great pizza crust, and they certainly have a massive stone oven to do the job!
Our Greek salad was fantastic too.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming to parents with small children as well as young couples.
Our server Sean was very nice as well as helpful.
Be prepared to wait close to dinner time, but is worth it!

Pies & Pints is a popular restaurant in downtown Charleston on Capitol Street. It always has amazing food, especially its pizzas, salads and sandwiches. A variety of ice cold beers and delicious desserts are also available.
Because it is reliably good, Pies & Pints is nearly always full. Credit cards are accepted and it has strong WiFi. The place is next door to Taylor Books.
My only complaint is the loud background music/noise, but if you sit in the back it is more bearable.
My small Caesar Salad was generous and delicious. I was delighted that this restaurant has anchovies, which I happen to love. The chopped (larger leaves would have been better) Romaine lettuce was fresh and crispy, but I should have requested extra Caesar dressing.
Our waitress was efficient and polite, and I was happy to have had such a good meal while visiting Charleston. (I live in Morocco.)
The manager, cooks and kitchen staff are all to be commended. Pies & Pints is a very good place to eat.
Ashley Lenox
Great food and great service.
Sean Crook
Kinda dissapointing after I've heard so much about it. Pizzas have a lot of toppings and taste alright, crust is better than your normal chain pizzeria. The thing that irked me was charging $13.20 for 7 small chicken wings as an appetizer. The wings are crisped, dry, and definitely not "hot". Pass on the wings, grab a pie if you're hungry, but there's better food around the corner.
RJ Patrizio
This is a small chain with locations throughout West Virginia and the surrounding states. This is the downtown Charleston location. It was very good. My wife got the mushroom pizza and loved it. I also have celiac disease so I got the classic in a gluten free crust which was awesome. They also had three types of gluten free beer which was nice to choose from. We also got the nachos which they cook in the pizza oven and we're amazing. They only use real cheese in the nachos so they stayed crisp and didn't get soggy. Highly recommended
Brett Myers
Fantastic pizza and brews, with a great vibe!
Mishelle Shump
Our waitress was Mia and she was amazing. We’re from out of town and stopped in for pizza and beer. Mia suggested different beers we might like and even brought us samples. Food was amazing and service was even better
Amanda Adkins
Cool, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly staff that always greet you with a smile, eager to serve you, making sure you are satisfied and having the best experience possible. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, weather you are there by yourself, with friends, co-workers or with the whole family. The art, furniture and the vibe are retro, playing a big part in making your experience one that won't soon be forgotten. Prices are great for the amazing food that you can't just find anywhere. The menu has something for everyone. Great people, good location, wonderful food, always an amazing experience. If you haven't checked this unique, one of a kind restaurant out, you need to and soon. You won't regret it. You will find yourself craving not just the food but the whole experience and it will quickly be one of your favorite places to go.
James “JimWV8JHF” Foster
Food was great. I ordered pizza and was excellent can't comment on other things on the menu I always order pizza here. Place was busy but didn't affect service never wanted for anything in our 9 person party. Only complaint was the beer list was updated that day and a beer I wanted was on the list but when ordered was told that they had kicked it, so maybe a little more thought in your list before you make it. Great time overall just that one thing was a little aggravating. Will be back to visit them again.
Dawson Grey
I can't stop thinking about the shrimp and sriracha / gorgonzola and red grape.
The crust was thin but crunchy.
Sarah Boylan
I ordered the Greek Salad with Chicken and it was great! Unlike other places where you get dry, bland chicken I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty the chicken was. My boyfriend had cheese pizza, which I also had a bite of and it was good, as well. It being 2p on a Monday afternoon the service was great!
Adam Fleck
Very hit or miss. Sometimes it’s delicious, sometimes it’s burnt and cold at the same time.
Nick Schaer
Great specialty pizzas for many varied tastes. Each one is an enjoyable feast for the mouth and the eyes. An excellent selection of traditional and craft breweries await your drinking pleasure. They also have a wide variety of hot sandwiches for your eating enjoyment. The selection of great salads is also first rate. A great place to meet friends right on main drag in downtown Charleston.
Helio Flanagan Veiga
Definitely one of the best places to eat in town. Food is very fresh. Their greek salad is amazing! Salads are actually very big. You think you’re getting a large salad and it’s actually a small one. The price is definitely on point, and their products are definitely worth what you pay for. Service is great. They also have a variety of beers that you can enjoy at the bar. The location is very convenient because it’s in the heart of the city and it’s basically in front of a garage where you can park in case you don’t find public parking.
It has become one of my favorite places in Charleston.
Jeffery Kessler
The food is wonderful here. The root beer on tap is also a must try. The atmosphere is a little noisy but thats to be expected in this type of setting. Great service. It can be a little rough to get a seat quickly during lunch and dinner hour but usually not a long wait if you find yourself there during those times.
Peter Birch
We had a half and half Classic and Pine & Swine with added jalapenos. It really was the best ham and pineapple pizza I've ever had. Perfect portions and great sauce. I'll be back.
Sam Norris
Best pizza I've had in a very long time. The friendly staff and comprehensive beer menu leave nothing to be desired. I wish we had a Pies and Pints in my home town! Will definitely be returning next time I'm in Charleston
Diane Midkiff
1st time I've been there , even though we had a 35 minute wait it was worth it . The staff that we had help us was super friendly and the pizzas were great ,have toppings I wouldn't have ever thought of.
William Fisher
Fantastic selection of brews and really great pizza. Had the Cuban pork pizza and thought it was superb. The small salad was perfectly sized for 2 people and was very fresh. Vibe was cool and upbeat. The service was great as well.
Ed Balint
Great beer selection, tasty pizza and excellent service. Definitely would stop by again!
Griffin Canterbery
The best pizza I have had around Charleston
Kelly Glass
Very good service, a lot of options for pizza toppings. Extended wait to be seated 45 min expected for a Saturday night.
Josh Dunn
I've been to pies and pints at least thirty times. I've eaten every pizza on their menu. I've also had each of their salads and most of their appetizers. I've never had a bad pizza. I've never actually had 'just a good pizza'. Every time I go to Pies & Pints the food is amazing. My son is 5 years old, and he's been coming to Pies & Pints with mommy and me since he was on a milk only diet. But now that he's a man with a discerning palate, he orders for himself; usually he'll snag a kid's plate with pepperoni.
We were recently entertaining an artistic type visiting from Los Angeles, he was amazed at the selection of brews and the quality of the pizzas. When my brother visits from Indiana, Pies & Pints is always on the to do list.
The wait staff is friendly and professional. They know me and my son on a first name basis. The restaurant is really good and it can get busy at times, but the wait is worth it.
Jacob Karpinski
Great pizza place, excellent import and domestic beer selection. I really wish the downtown area around here didn't seem so unoccupied to help bring in more business. It is in a cool location, very historic, touristy part of town. Also a really cool beer can wall towards the back.
Bruce Kavanaugh
First visit to the Charleston location after many to Fayetteville. The pizza did not disappoint, consistent with the quality in Fayetteville. Arrived at the busy time, so service started a bit slow, but improved quickly. Great location.
Kaitlyn Setter
Worth the wait! Ordered the goat cheese,
garlic, rosemary flatbread...to die for. Such a generous amount of goat cheese (more than enough). Then ordered the Chicken Gouda pizza. Also delicious, bacon was particularly good! Plenty for the two of us.
Danielle Storms
Food is great but the service is slow. Second time I’ve been and it’s been slow both time. Nice place to sit outside but make sure you have 90 + min to hang out
Samantha Carter
Me and my husband both work the medical field and chose to do our date night here, today, on a Monday. I have ate here a handful of times and never was dissatisfied with the food. However, today was special because the service was immaculate. Jessica T. Was our server today and I have NEVER had a waitress like her. She is amazing and if I could have her every time we came here I would be here every evening.
Kaelynn Judd
This restaurant is the perfect place to grab pizza. I wish I lived closer so we could visit more often! The atmosphere is very laid back, the pizza is delicious, and everyone is super friendly. I also highly recommend getting the wings as an appetizer. They are the best!
Natalie Ferrell
Good food, chill atmosphere. Simple and to the point menu that still allows for plenty of customizability. No sweet tea though.
Kip D
Pies & Pints is amazing. My husband and I passed through Charleston on a road trip, saw the name of the restaurant and were determined to go. We were not disappointed. Pies & Pints had friendly, helpful and responsive staff, delicious food and a great, cozy atmosphere with charming decor (complete with original artwork for sale, which I loved). We had the Mediterranean shrimp pizza and a dark coffee-based beer, and were very pleased with both. If we're ever in Charleston again, we're definitely making it a point to come back to Pies & Pints!
Aimee LeRose
Always excellent food and service. When you visit the Pork & Pepper Nachos are a must. They have great wings, we get them naked as our youngest just loves them as they are without sauces. My favorite pizzas are the Hot Mamma and the Margherita. I also love the Greek salad, always fresh and delicious. They always have a good variety of beer on tap, something for everyone. Enjoy!
Bryce
We ordered a gluten and dairy free pizza along with several other things. The gluten/dairy free pizza was the best we’ve ever had at any restaurant. The crust is amazing - like regular crust. We are thrilled and thankful for the option!
Bat Guano
One of the best, or maybe the only, place to find good food on a Sunday night in Charleston. This place is fun, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding. The salads are huge and great tasting. The pizzas are unique, and perhaps the best, in my 72+ years experience chowing down on these popular menu items. The place was very busy relatively late on a Sunday evening so it is probably very popular at peak times.
Gary Walderich
Great service l, great pizza and probably the best selection of craft beer in downtown Charleston, WV.
Daniel Johnson
The mushroom and garlic pizza was delicious and my friend said they really liked their classic pizza. The wings were surprisingly good as well considering they weren't breaded or saucy in any way. The reason it's not a give star review is because the water tasted pretty terrible. When we asked for bottled water they said they only had sparkling water. I'm not the biggest fan of sparkling water.
haitham siag
The staff were amazing, we had the classic and cheese pizza, it reminded me Soo much of nyc style pizza, which I love, clean, fast and amazing service.
Evin Hamm
Always love Pies and Pints. Great place to go with friends and share a specialty pizza that you wont find anywhere else. Really good salads and wings as well. They always have local brews and different beers to try.
Andrew Bodie
The best place to eat . Wings and pizza so good, but get there early before the crowds because it could be a wait. My waiter Derreck was the best but all the employees are so friendly and make you feel at home. Coming from Florida it made are trip to the beautiful state even better. Will defiantly go back!
Emma Sitler
Love to go here any time I can. The spinach salad with the Gorgonzola dressing is a favorite of mine. I also love the chicken Gouda and hot mama pizzas. But everyone should also try their sandwiches!! They are also delicious. The staff is always super nice and it’s usualy quick but crowded.
Megan
Just the smell alone when you walk in is worth it. Lol. I got the white pizza. Totally yummy. I also got chips and salsa ...they lacked flavor but you got free refills and I asked for extra cilantro. Can't wait to try other pizzas.
Robert Pipo (euroboxxer)
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Best pizza I’ve ever had and I travel all of North America for work. Beer selection is top notch and always updating for new flavours. Service is fantastic.
David Schaefer
Great service and the food was amazing! I definitely recommend bot the street corn and the chicken gouda!
Ellen George
This place can get very busy on holidays and weekends so make sure you have a reservation. We had a 45 minute wait for a table which was fine since they support text notifications and taylor books is right next door. When we finally got our table, I ordered the margarita pizza and they put wayyyyyyy too much garlic on it. It reeked and the garlic flavor overpowered everything else. My friends liked their pizza but mine was just too strong.
Daniel Dolin
I can honestly say that this is one of the best places to eat in Charleston. Firstly, the decor must be noted. The artist who designed this place was a true genius, I can't remember the last time I was in such an intuitively designed restaurant! Everything from the color palate to the art hanging on walls screams modern, fresh, and young. As if the design wasn't enough, the setting is prime. Located in the heart of the city right along the charming and irresistible Capitol Street, the restaurant is within walking distance of all the major attractions in the city.
This little hole in the wall literally has the most unique and delicious pizza I have ever tasted; the food was incredible! The selection was huge, the only problem is how hard it is to decide what you want to eat! The meal was delivered astonishingly fast, considering how busy the place was. At a reasonable price you can get, not only a beautiful pizza, but a bite full of memories that you will never forget!
The service was impeccable. Truly memorable were their servers, with their laid back demeanor and their refreshing customer-oriented attitude. I felt so comfortable being seated, it was if I was visiting family. The server was so friendly, personal, and animated. The top notch customer service was what really brought the visit together and made the whole experience enjoyable
Pies and Pints is, by far, the most outstanding restaurant in Charleston. The Decor, Food and Service all stand out beyond the competition. The only complaint I could imagine is that the noise level can reach some pretty high decibels, but that can only be expected when a restaurant is the best in town; it's bound to bring in an abundance of people. All I can really say about it is that I'll be coming back again and again to, as they put it, "Get Some."
Trae Herring
Awesome pizza! Good selection of beer. Try the wings and pizza skins.
Scott Peterson
Our soccer team invaded this establishment after a game. The service was fantastic to accommodate a large group. Can’t say enough how great the pizza was along with the beer selection. Highly recommend.
Tong Liu
Quite literally the best grilled wings and gorgonzola dipping sauce you'll ever have! My favorite pizza is the Mediterranean Shrimp, but I've tried several and have yet to find one that I just don't thoroughly enjoy. In addition to the amazing food the service is second to none; the last waitress we had was the perfect mix of professional and friendly.
rye flores
everything was delicious! especially the white pizza and their version of ranch ig? idk everything was just good as hell😂
Jon Scarboro
Pizza was supreme! Great crust and toppings make for a great pie! Actually ate here twice. On the way to a destination and on the way back. Must have been pretty good!! Service was a little lacking on the way back but they were slammed and short on help. Overall excellent!
J
The pizza we had tasted amazing.
We came during a busy time, yet our server was excellent, handling it extremely well. It really was an enjoyable experience.
Matt Bucklen
Love this place but the last 2 times I have been here the gnats have been horrible. 5-6 flying around the table while eating inside. Otherwise fantastic pizza.
Raymond Casciato
Pizza and brews were good, service was meh had to wait several times for server, there were more employees in joint than patrons.
Jonathan Walraven
Always worth the wait. I really like the Mushroom and Black bean pizzas. My wife loves the grape and gorgonzola. Kids plate had meat but we asked for vegetarian option. They didn't flinch and offered beans as a substitute. Kids loved it.
Beth Knoblauch
Very nice atmosphere, little loud, but not bad. Waiter was so nice. Talked with my husband about beers available and made some suggestions. When he brought the beer to him, he even brought him a sample of the other beer he suggested. The pizza is top notch. Actually, I'm not a huge pizza fan, but I could eat this any time. We ordered the Hot Mama. I wasn't sure of the spice level so asked them to only put the hot peppers on half. They did that and then the waiter also brought us a cup of the peppers in case we liked them and wanted more. I don't like scorching heat, but these peppers had just a nice touch of heat to compliment the capicola. Nice thin crust with great flavor. Didn't feel like we ate a loaf of heavy bread for dinner. So happy we decided to stop, thank you for some great pizza! I will definitely return to try other pizzas. If you are near one stop in, you will not be disappointed.
jose juarez
Every pizza I've had here is great, good to know they have vegan options.
Lyndsey Fought
Extremely long wait for table, long wait for food. One of the pizzas was missing, the issue was rectified and the server was very nice. On a less busy time, the experience would have been better, but the price was very high.
Brian Paden
Pizza was amazing, some of the best I have ever tasted. We thought service was slow, took an hour for 3 pizzas but it took so long because they were making a free pizza due to one getting a bit squished during baking. So no complaints there. Manager came over later and made sure everything was going okay. Try the Gouda Chicken pizza, it is fantastic.
Aaron Dehn
Great spot. Good pizzas, nice beer selection, and best of all - the chicken wings. Best rub I've ever had on any meat before. Very tender and juicy, packed with flavor - a must try!
Jason Hurst
Erin took great care of us after she had already been through a long busy night, she was the best! Best pizza ever, amazing amount of beers on tap, with an incredible selection. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
Arden Hamrick
One of my favorite spots. The Sahara are phenomenal, the pies are grand, and the beer is cold. They the char-grilled wings or the pulled pork nachos. My personal favorite is the cuban pulled pork and the classic pie.
Sara Oxford
Sat at the bar. Fantastic service and food! The bartender gave the best descriptions of the beers! Highly recommend!!! The pizza was delicious!!
Alex Dane
When it comes to pizza, I always try to get local privately owned food.
I got my order to go and the facility was very crowded, so I guess there are people who like it more than I do.
Both the pizza and the sandwich we ordered didn't have much flavor. It wasn't pad, per se, just not as great as expected from a local pizza joint.
Mike Dillion
Amazing pizzas and the pork nachos can't be beat.
Cari RW
We ordered their large half/half with vegan cheese & it was seriously one of the best pizzas I've ever had. High quality ingredients & great service. My new favorite pizza place!
Ashley Watkins
Love pies and pints! Highly recommend! We got the wings (which are fabulous!) Then we got Greek salad which is so delicious! Also got the Steak and mushroom pizza, the thai shrimp, the classic pie as well as the chicken gouda. All amazing! We had a large party and they accommodated us with no problem! We had folks from out of town and we wanted them to taste some of the great food Charleston has to offer!
Andrea King
The pizza and service here were great! I love being able to support local businesses when I come home for a visit.
wveerallday
One of the best pizza places in the area and the staff are great too. Be aware that parking downtown can be rough.
Stephanie H
I wish I could remember what pizza I ordered, but it was excellent. Plenty of toppings and cheese. Service was great. Friendly staff and the food was out relatively quick.
Poi L
We love this place! You can't get a bad pie here and there's a pint for anyone. You have to try their draft root beer. It's a non-alcoholic root beer that is amazing. We always take some home! The atmosphere is hip and lively so not the best place if you're looking for a quiet dinner but...you're sure to have fun!
Robert Hall
Great food & pricing and fantastic service! Everything was clean and well maintained. Our server was nice and the food came out hot and delicious. Nice ambiance - great for a date or hanging out with friends. Everyone loved their meals. We'll definitely be back!
Steve Gallagher
Beers and more beers. Huge list to pick from. The pizza selection is good as well. Never had a bad experience here. Always a go to when in town. The spinach grape salad is a great side to go with any pizza.
Leigh Feathers
Amazing place for the best pizza and beer. The pizza is out of this world- crust and toppings are top notch. The amount of beers to choose from is super and I love that they have some local beers too! Highly recommended! Great place for lunch or dinner!
Tom Vern
Great pizza. Great service. Large pizzas can be done half one pizza, half another. This makes it a great place for families by mixing simple "kids pizza" with more interesting "adult pizza." Extensive beer selection on tap.
Mary Smith
Wish I could give this place 10 stars. Our waitress Jess was very knowledgeable on the menu and explained several beers to us. The restaurant is very clean, staff is very friendly, beer was excellent and food delicious!
Marie Rogers
Went here for the first time since coming to Charleston. Great place but had to fight off lots of nats circulating the walls. Especially when your placed by the kitchen door being they take the trash out that way as well. Took forever to get 1 beer but good food overall.
Dakotah Bledsoe
Amazing service, food, wings were amazing, pizza was amazing. Wish we had one of these in Texas it would become my new go-to spot for food.
Chantell Wofford
KIDS MENU? They have a kids menu - HOWEVER, it’s not posted on their digital menu and the hostess didn’t offer us one?
My son said the only thing wrong with his pizza was that the shrimp wasn’t seasoned.
I have always been a huge fan of Pies and Pints but I’ve never taken my family so because of these two things is why we got 3 stars!
Plus the hostess said around a 40-45 minute wait but was actually less than 10!
Christina Barteck
First time eating here and it was to die for! To start the area in which it is located is adorable and very charming with tons of local shops and entertainment. It's has a nice outdoor eating area and the staff is very welcoming. Seeing that it was our first time there we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by a very nice bartender named John. He started by walking us through the beer menu explaining the different kinds and informing us about the local breweries. He then walked us through the menu starting is off with the appetizers. We tried the wings which came highly recommended. You could literally tastes the time and energy they put into these wings! From the seasoning to the marinade these wings are grilled to perfection! Next we moved on to the pizza. He told us about the award winning grape with gonzola pizza, which did win best food in Charleston. However another server mentioned they liked it with bacon so we tried it. We also tried the Gouda chicken pizza. I have to say both were amazing! The sweet and salty on the grape is indescribable! The chicken is grilled and juicy and topped with some kind of sauce that ties the whole pizza together and Gouda cheese just melts in your mouth! Good thing we have left overs because I am ready for some more! So from the service to local beers to the pizza and wings you cannot go wrong! I will say to enjoy this place you do need to be a little adventurous because there is nothing ordinary about this place!
Allison Miller
Wow. Tried the Pistachio and Pesto pizza, along with my favorite Grape and Gorgonzola. 🤤
This place is so freaking good. The staff was extremely friendly. Loved having outdoor seating option. 🙌
Tom Langley
I am from London, England and we have a lot of very high quality pizzerias so I generally high most places that sell pizzas to fairly high standards given that is what I have gotten used to. Pies & Pints is a place that I would implore anyone visiting Charleston or WV in general to visit, everything from the food quality to the service is perfect. During my visit to Charleston WV, I visited Pies & Pies twice and was impressed each time I visited which shows that this place is consistently good. I wish I asked for the waitresses name, but the first waitress was a young blonde female with a space bun hair style; she was wonderful, was kind, filled up the salsa bowl for our nachos without us asking and she gave us boxes too without us having to ask - amazing and attentive service. The next waiter we had on our second visit was a young male with brown hair who echoed a similar standard of amazing service to his colleague, where he did the same things as the aforementioned waitress. All in all, it was a very positive experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Pies & Pints to anyone who is visiting the local area. 5/5 from me, and they are a staple place for me to visit when I am next around.
mark theis
Great place with awesome atmosphere and attention to detail especially on the pizza and flavors. Every aspect of the dishes are balanced and well seasoned.
Betsey Carges
We love Pies & Pints! The pizzas, wings, and salads are always great. My only issues are that the AC can’t seem to keep up in the summer on busy nights so it gets pretty warm there and they only have 2 kinds of house made dressings (which both taste awesome) but if you have a kid who only likes ranch creamy gorgonzola isn’t really their jam. It’s worth the wait, which you’ll probably have to do, just settle in and have a cold pint and relax.
Jeff Crain
P&P provides an excellent selection of craft beers and artisanal pizzas, and fills an important niche in the Charleston dining scene. Our server was attentive and ready with suggestions, so a plus there as well. The food was good, and price was as expected, so no minuses to speak of. I'd give them more stars if I knew how well they stacked up with similar places elsewhere.
Mindy Stover
Very good pizza It is a small local chain but don't let that stop you. First visit I had to cauliflower crust Mediterranean pizza It was wonderful fresh herbs sprinkled on top.
Carl Blackburn
Not bad the staff could be a little more understanding dealing with people with memory loss. Very rude. Making jokes about someone with memory loss is no joke. I won't be back and either will ANY of my 75 employees plus volunteers. When you add their family & friends. Close 1,000 native Charlestoneers. How much revenue will that cost a SMALL business???? Darn I forgot
Terry Bartley
One of my favorite Charleston restaurants! Have a great variety of pizzas and salads. Also owned by West Virginians! Check out their Grape and Gorgonzola pizza, sounds weird, but so good!
Zackary Fowler
Server was great. Excellent beer recommendations. Pizza was delicious and so were the wings. Overall a great trip in Chuck town.
Nicholas Moon
Tasty food, relaxed vibe.
Paul Johnson
Gourmet pizza! Amazing selection. Servers are friendly and responsive. Pizza is amazeballz!
Valerie Veronica
I'm not a huge fan of pizza, or at least I wasn't until I tried the pies at Pies & Pints. They have such a wide variety of choices, and you cannot go wrong with any one. Furthermore, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is upbeat and fun. I have nothing to complain about, except that they don't have a location closer to home.
Jennifer Little
Took my girls from UC here for lunch, and it was amazing! The waitress was great. Very attentive. The pies were the best. Ordered the chicken gouda and a Margherita pie and they were perfect
Test Dummy
Really - I mean Really Good Pies. So we were in town for a night and someone recommended this establishment. Actually they recommended it because of a beer they served from a local brewery. So we arrived and the surprises began. From the conversation with my friend I had expected a dive... This is not a dive, This place is an almost national kind of place. (I was told they are about to become a franchise.)
The pie's were worth the trip. We ordered two of the once that our waitress recommended. The smoked Gouda and the on with the grapes.
The smoked Gouda was very good. The sauce was different and enticing. I think I would have liked the cheese to have been presented a little differently. But in the end my tummy was very happy!
The pizza they feature on the Food network was covered in sliced grapes. Interesting to say the least. It just looked strange when it arrived. I kinda poked at it with my fork to see if it would move.... do you remember the food scene in "Better off Dead?" Well this was running through my mind. However, when I took my first bite I discovered that this strange concoction was amazing. I would make the trip here again to order this pie!
All in all this is a very nice middle priced establishment. Megan our Nursing School waitress was engaging and exactly what one should expect. If you are in the area could you pick me up a pie and ship it back to Texas?
Justin Sperry (Wildfire reviews)
Passing thru town and stopped in. First time here had a great time . Pizza solid 8.2 pretty good. Service was decent. I will go back next time I’m in town.
Jeff Nossal
Many craft beers available And a bartender who both took the time and had the knowledge to help me choose the perfect beer to go with my amazing amazing pizza 2 thumbs up

Meh. Used to be great, but things have went downhill since COVID came to town. Service is slow due to understaffing (just like everywhere else) and ingredient quality is getting questionable considering the relatively high prices. Honestly, I can get a better plain pizza at Little Caesars for 6 bucks.

Food was delicious. Highly recommend the pizza skins appetizers. It is like potato skins but pizza. Crust topped with mashed potatoes, cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream. They even have PBR on tap, hell ya brother!

First time there with the family. I'm not from around here, but It's definitely worth the trip back to have another bite ! The people are so kind and the food is phenomenal. If you're looking for a place to get your drink on and chow down on some unique pies, this surely is the place made for it ! : )
Laura
Very cozy restaurant with fantastic food. The wings are wonderful (and not something I would normally order but I definitely recommend them!) Lots of beer on tap. Don't know which beer to choose? Samples are offered.
All in all, I will be back!

Good local beers, pizza is excellent! We stop for lunch here every year on our way to NC. Also you must get the pizza skins! It sound odd on the menu but it's so worth it.
Demarko Rutherford
The lady there was nice and helpful but the some difficulties with the sandwich. The wings were ok, the pizza was ok, the salad was good! Do better with the sandwiches though!

My favorite place to eat at when I visit Charleston. Pizza 🍕 is always good, black beans is 💥. Wings are sooo delicious. Friendly staff.
Jack King
Sometimes space in there can be a little tight but the pizza is AMAZING. So many times I've got in just wanting to eat half a pizza and take the rest home... I never take any home. I always eat the whole thing there and hate myself afterwards. =) Seriously, fantastic food, great service and a superb location in the heart of downtown Charleston.

Beers are really good. Had the margerita pizza twice and I absolutely love the taste and sauce on it. The pizza strips is just a type of pizza so I was dissapointed there. The staff are super friendly and the place is clean and cozy.
Courtney Edgar
We had issues with accuracy of order.

A trendy pizza spot in downtown Charleston that serves some of the most interesting takes on pizza I've seen. Served fresh and piping hot! Give it a go if you're ever in town!

You go to Pies & Pints because you want pizza and beer. I get it. It’s kinda their thing. But don’t skip over the nachos. Baked on a pizza pan, every chip is covered in ooey-gooey goodness. There’s usually a wait but they get you seated quickly. Service is always good. It’s a little loud for a date night but perfect for every other occasion.

Pretty crowded around 7 on a Wednesday. I didn't get the pizza but it looked delicious. The wings were on point though a little pricey. Beer selection was mostly kicked, but from what I saw had good selection while it was in stock.

Solid pizza joint! I have eaten at the Fayetteville location many times and it is in fact superior in my opinion, but the flavor is a nice additionto downtown. Hope they add more to the area because you can only stand so many places with cookie cutter toppings

Slow service soured an otherwise good experience. The on-tap Root Beer was likely the best thing on the menu. The highly rated Chipotle Chicken Chicken was dry and lacked sauce. The pie overall was decent but dry... not outstanding in the least. The dining area is crowed so prepare to have people watch you eat while they wait for their meals to arrive. Overall I enjoyed myself, just don't fall of the speciality pies and order what you know.
Jennifer Forster
Delicious pizza's with so many toppings to choose from. My husband also really enjoyed the beer selection. The restaurant is kid friendly with highchairs, kid menus and a changing station in the restroom.

Amazing pizza. My daughter ordered a large salad for a few of us to share. Honestly I looked at it and was thinking it was a lil plain. Tasting it, omg. It was so good. The ppl I was with said their drinks are really good. Such a huge variety of everything. Worth the money. If I lived near this place I'd b MORE broke lol.

What a great place. 3rd time I've been here, never a bad experience. Scott behind the bar is the most knowledgeable person I have met regarding beers. Great pizza, I had a good sandwich also. A must see, they are worth the visit.
Sarah Tursell
Good pizza, lots of beer choices. A couple of tables available outside and staff all wearing masks. I'd do take out and a growler in a heart beat.
Catherine King
I've heard fantastic things about Pies & Pints, so it was important that we stop there when traveling through Charleston. Everything we had was wonderful and the simple house salad was particularly delightful! I would gladly stop again.

Good place for both eponymous items. Try the draft root beer. Wings are also pretty good. They fit in to the capital street vibe very well and the interior is very cool. Meet some friends here and walk around. Waiting times can be rough, once had to sit on the somewhat uncomfortable wood benches inside for 45 minutes.

Good selection of beer and tasty pizzas. Our server, Samantha, voluntarily discounted our pizza because the kitchen took a little longer than expected. We're glad that we're stopped in on our way thru Charleston.
Lori Berhent
We overnight in Charleston,WV every year when traveling from Hilton Head SC to Cleveland OH and never miss dinner at Pies & Pints! Service is always friendly and efficient (which is good after 8-9 hours on the road), great beer selection and we live the pizza. Gouda and chicken pizza is our favorite!
LeeAnne
Bar tender is too cool to smile.
It's All VR
Great pizza and wings were very responsible in the sense of providing a dine in experience during covid 19 pandemic. Tables are reasonably spaced and only allow mask removal for eating and drinking.
flavio valdez
Even though it's a pizza place, it's probably the only decent place to eat at in Charleston. they are always consistent with bold flavors. If you have to wait for a table, it's definitely worth the wait. Try the grape pizza and the wings!
Joseph Boss
I was introduced to Pies & Pints years ago visiting family in Charleston. Now, anytime we travel through West Virginia we make sure to stop in at a location. The Pizzas are great, and the beer selection is strong.
Caleb Briles
Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. Pizza is fantastic, and there is a good selection of brews. Service can be a little slow, since the place is popular. Be prepared to wait a little bit for a seat.
Eleyse Hud
Amazing gourmet pizza!! They put the sauce on top of the pizza so you get just the right amount. My only negative is that they do not have more locations so I could eat here more often.
Jake Lambson
For Charleston this place is a must. One of the few places that makes you feel like you're not in charleston. Personally, I think the pizza is overrated. It's very good and they have a great variety but it's been like "wow that's amazing pizza." However, their Cuban sand which is the best Cuban I have ever had.

This is a very popular place in downtown Charleston! It was one of the first places recommended to me when I moved here. There are several unique pizza places in Charleston, and this one has to be my favorite! The decor is very modern and artsy. Delicious and reasonably priced.
Christine Rasnake
My family and I have been going to Pies and Pints in Charleston and Fayetteville since they first opened many years ago and we have ALWAYS enjoyed excellent food and service. Everytime! We love everything on their menu. My highest recommendations!
Nick Rosenfeld
Pizza and salad we're good, seating took some time due to shift changes. Overalls a good experience, but definitely opportunity to improve.

Great place! Food delicious charming street in downtown Charleston - go for the mushroom garlic pizza !! Stopped on way down to Hilton Head - truely on the way . Call ahead as do not take reservations!! Learned about it here felt needed to pass it on . This will surely become a tradition .

Good pizza. Nice selection of local and regional craft beers. Good service at lunch today, not too busy.
Jennifer Rueckert
We stopped here for dinner on a Friday night. Saw the rating. We love pizza so we were looking forward to a fantastic almost 5 star experience. Sadly, it was "meh" at best. The wait was supposed to be 35 minutes. It was close to an hour. During the time we waited, it was frustrating to watch multiple empty tables sit vacant for close to 20 minutes before anyone cleaned them for the waiting crowds. My son was starting to become "hangry," so I asked the bartender of we could order some chips and salsa from him to get through the wait. He was great, got those chips quickly, and he was probably the best part of the visit. He also comped us the chips to apologise for the insane wait. Very nice gesture. Our waitress was good too. So, the pizza.....the crust was nice and crunchy, but overall, it wasn't that great. It was just average. Wasn't really very hot either. It looked like it sat for a while before being served. We are from out of town. We travel a lot. Maybe for the locals this place is almost 5 stars. Next time we're in town visiting family, I'm pretty sure we will go elsewhere.

Went for brunch on a Sunday. It was an all around great experince. Each dish seemed thought out and I got the Chicken and waffles. Very good and the server paired a nice, light mixed drink to go with it.

Amazing Pizza with Good family atmosphere!
Pamela Thor
Good food. We particularly enjoy going when we can sit outside. We recommend the Rosemary and Garlic Flatbread, the Black Bean pizza, and the Greek or Spinach salad. Not much of a kids menu, so if you have youngsters keep that in mind.
Michelle Henning
Picked up pies and pies vegan cheese pizza with mushrooms, onions, banana peppers and spinach on our way through charleston and wow best vegan cheese on pizza we have ever had!! All 4 of us have had different places vegan cheese pizza, even using the same company as pies and pints and nothing compares!! 10/10! I wish we didn’t live so far away, but we will still stop if we are in the area again!!:)
Christina Patton
No matter what you order at Pies, you will NOT be disappointed!! This is not your average pizza place...Everything is fresh and made to order, and they have amazing seasonal specialty pies. When you go, ask to sit in Shaun or Danny's section; they're both phenomenal. One of the best things about Pies is the family feeling, the whole team works together to make sure you're well taken care of!

Service was Swift and delicious. Portions were large, staff was kind and checked with us often, refills without asking, music was eclectic. The whole atmosphere was very chill and I'll definitely visit again.

Ate at the bar and the bartender was efficient friendly and certainly knew all about the vast selection of beers including German beers.
The Cuban style pie was tasty and you could taste all the ingredients. Ordered a large (for one person) a huge mistake as I could only eat a quarter of the pie but carried the rest back to the hotel. Later that evening I tried another slice cold and the flavors were still outstanding.
The place had a continuous flow of customers in and out as well as many regulars like the guy behind the bar was serving their usual beer without even asking.
This is surprising as on that block there are at least 8 or 9 other restaurants and on a Wednesday afternoon Pies and Pints was the busiest.
Looked like also many patrons were out of towners. If in Charleston dont miss it.
Addison Asquith
I ordered through DoorDash, food was amazing. However I after to say, I sadly missed the phone call but once I check the voicemail, I realized how kind they are. Shout out to Jeff! He wanted to make sure I stayed hydrated and I got my drink!

Pies & Pints is a West Virginia institution. Over the last several years, I've had every single menu item at one point or another. And they were all excellent. You know how some restaurants will have some good some great and some not so good? Well Pies & Pints is always great. Salads: Amazing, Pizzas: Incredible! One of my friends who moved away from the area just texted me. "Pies & Pints, oh how I miss thee."
Kelly Humphrey
Always a must when I visit my home state of WV! It's one of the things I miss most. The food is always top notch, the staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful! Don't go to Charleston or Fayetteville without visiting this place! You won't be sorry
Heather Ashley
We love eating at Pies and Pints but this location is entirely too small and very loud. I do like the Fayetteville location better but the food is the same just as awesome! It is a good place to meet with friends.
Robert Daley
Awesome pizza and excellent atmosphere! This restaurant was busy but not too busy to provide excellent service and food. This is my “go to” place for pizza (and brew) in Charleston, WV! Love it! Will be back!
Nichole
Love, love, LOVE this place! The food is amazing and the selection of local brewed beers is incredible plus a lot of them are on tap. Parking at this location can be difficult but street parking is available all around the restaurant. Beware of long lines of the weekend, gets crowded but well worth the wait.

Arrived from out of town and was kindly greeted by a polite host who told my party of 4 it was a 35 minute wait. We gave our phone number and 40 minutes later when we asked the host how much longer we weren't on the list anymore. No call, no text, nothing. Got put back in the list and another 30 minutes later it took me going back to the host asking about an empty table to finally get seated. Took the waitress a solid 5 minutes to see what we wanted and another 5 just for water. We ordered and after another 30 minutes got our food. Which was pretty damn good... but I'm not sure it was worth waiting almost 2 hours for... extremely disappointed.

Great pizza and great service. Located close to most hotels, easy walking distance. Large selection of beer. No parking lot, street parking only. Highly recommend stopping in and give them a try.
Laura
Delicious! Loved everything about it. The staff were great and helpful
Brittany Brewer
Amazing place! They have GREAT pizza and a HUGE selection of great beers. The staff wasn't too friendly, but overall this was a great place. I will visit again soon!
