A great amount of food for cheap and you can actually eat in! The food is amazing, we had the whole place to ourselves. Everything was fresh, fast, and filling. The buffet is currently closed due to covid-19. however, you can always order off the menu and they have very generous portions to make up for it.

We went in with three adults and a toddler and everyone loved everything they tried. And the soft serve ice cream was actually good. A lot of times at these kinds of buffets they seem to water down their ice cream mix and this place wasn't like that. Friendly and very attentive waitress.

I was looking for a new Chinese restaurant that delivered . I live several blocks from a place that I have been ordering from for about 20 years . I've had one too many disappointments with them lately and proximity alone isn't a reason for me to keep patronizing them. I asked for recommendations on a restaurant review page that I follow and they suggested Main Tin. I also heard glowing reports about an employee named Isaac. I called to place my order, I heard a pleasant voice and I had to ask, "is this Isaac?" He assured me that it was. I asked if they delivered on New Year's Eve. They did. I placed my order.. Let me tell you, Isaac and yes, the food were both wonderful! Everything arrived hot , the portions were generous and the prices reasonable. They even have one of my favorite dishes that I can rarely find in the area other than on a buffet: Black Pepper Chicken! I was so happy when I saw it! And it was some of the best I've ever had . My boyfriend ordered the General Tso. Of late, the other places have more breading than chicken. He has actually had empty pieces of breading with zero chicken. Not so at Main Tin! There were generous pieces of chicken with every bite! And Isaac more than lived up to the hype! He was kind and attentive. We got 2 menus, condiments without asking and FREE fortune cookies. Sadly, they aren't added to orders from some restaurants without an additional charge any longer. I think we have found our place for Chinese food! My recommendation- try the Black Pepper chicken and say hello to Isaac!

Since I visited this place last time (2 weeks ago) it changed significantly. I can understand the price increase. But frog legs now are on certain weekdays. It was my favorite dish, and now it's available only on days when I cannot get there. Overall food got less tasty. Sweet and sour soup is only sour now. It was my favorite place to eat in Charleston. Now I'm afraid I have to look for a new one. At least tea is still good. Below I'm leaving an original review from one year ago. It had 5 stars. "Very affordable buffet. Not too many dishes. Very clean and lovely inside. Not crowded at all. Some food is so-so, some is delicious. Definitely worth the money."

The chicken teriyaki is absolutely delicious! The fried rice is always fresh and their crab rangoon‘s are so tasty. One of my favorite restaurants. The staff is also super friendly!

They are the only Chinese restaurant I will order from in the area. By far the best food. Always a pleasure to know my food will be hot and delicious every time I place an order. I will continue to support them as long as they are open and as long as I live in the area. 10/10 and 100% satisfied everytime.

Not the worlds greatest food, but much better than many. I normally ended up here on evenings near closing hours, so take that point into consideration. The food was always good for a buffet, and the staff was friendly. I always keep coming back!

Good food. Mostly good service. Hostess who seated us was not friendly. Was very grumpy face. Seemed agitated that I asked for booth. When I tried to explain that reason I asked for booth was I needed softer seat than a chair due to medical procedure I had just had. Hostess did place us at a booth but would not speak to me or look at me and was very mad in face. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful though she said she did not speak English. She went to grumpy Hostess for help to understand me. Grumpy Hostess came over to our table and grouchily asked if I needed something. She must have been having a VERY bad day.

I didn't want to write this review at first, because I thought the food was fine and the service was great; but when we went to leave my husband saw a cockroach on the wall behind us. He then took our one year old daughter over to look at a fountain and came running back, saying he saw about a dozen tiny cockroaches crawling all over the fountain and it was TIME TO GO. My only concern is if we saw this many roaches outside of the kitchen, how many are IN the kitchen?

I like Main Tin for the great employees and cheap buffet. Admittedly some of the other Chinese restaurants have better food, but they also cost more. Really the only complaint I have is that the food on the buffet could be kept hotter, but I'm usually there late in the evening near closing when there are few customers so my timing is partly to blame.

I absolutely loved this particular restaurant already from previous past experiences with the quality of food and amazing staff, but I was really taken back by how even now, they still present an amazing experience even though so many extra steps need to be taken due to Covid. Nothing regarding quality to the has been compromised on.

Love Love Love this restaurant! The buffet is 9.99$ . They have a wide variety of food!! They also have takeout and delivery. Their prices are affordable. I highly recommend Main Tin especially to those like me who loves to eat ! Haha

My mom works just up the road from Main Tin, has ordered food from there a few times and recommend it to me. Over the summer I was working across the river from South Charleston, in North Charleston, so I decided to order from Main Tin for lunch one day. I thought the prices were reasonable and I got a decent amount of food for what I paid. I think I got the lunch combination special that came with General Tso's chicken, pork fried rice, and soup. The chicken tasted wonderful; it was some of the best General Tso's I've ever had. I'll be stopping by there again next time I'm in South Charleston and in the mood for Chinese food.

It was pretty standard chinese buffet food. Every dish was like most other buffet chinese places (which includes excellent green beans). The sushi had way to much rice. However the man at the front was exuberant and friendly. The waittresses were prompt. It was like $7 something not including the drink. I would probably eat here again, especially if in a hurry
