We ate at the bar - mainly because the bar seats have padding and the dining room chairs do not! It feels like you’re dining in a cozy hobbit hole. Low ceilings with wood beams, dark but not gloomy. Husband had the swordfish special and I had the gnocchi. Both were excellent and delivered in a very timely manner! The bartender had a fun, dry humor and was attentive but didn’t hover. The drinks were well made. It was a good choice for dinner. Notably, a pasta dish that the gentlemen next to us ordered did not arrive with their order. The bartender noticed and proactively said that he’d make sure it was removed from the bill but he wanted to make sure they had the opportunity to enjoy it - basically asked in a very classy way if they wanted it at the bar or packed to go. They chose the bar. The Manager then personally delivered the pasta and made chit chat for a few minutes. I love fine dining and I have a fine dining background. Too often nowadays you don’t see Managers ‘touching’ the tables at all - even when there’s been an issue - let alone personally delivering re-fires, etc. I noticed and I appreciated the gesture nearly as much as the intended audience! We will definitely be regulars here due to the excellent quality food AND service!

Cozy, romantic, and a delight for one’s palate. Trattoria Delia offers table and bar seating with dishes and specials for all. The staff were friendly, well-versed in all the dishes offered, and perfectly paced our dining experience.
We opted to try two of the specials: Italian Escargot and the Ricotta Gnocchi with Wild Boar. Both dishes were exceptional! I am very particular about my gnocchi, and this house made gnocchi were perfect pillows of deliciousness! My dining companion ordered the Veal Osso Buco which was exceptionally tender, and sauced to perfection. Of course, we had to have dessert. I must say that Trattoria Delia has the best Tiramisu which was enjoyed much to quickly!
Location: just blocks from Lake Champlain, around the corner from The Flynn theater, and a couple blocks from Church St. Perfect!

It was a wonderful experience!
Recommend for: Authentic Italian dish lover, Meat lover, wish to experience high quality dish, date night, important guest invitation
Antipasti: Batu (duck confit)
Duck confit was perfectly cooked! It was very delicious. The outside crust was just the right crisp and the inside was very soft. The sauce, which I believe it was combination of eggplant and fig, added the sweet and savory taste to the dish - made it perfect overall!
Pasta: Gnocchi al Cinghiale (ricotta Gnocchi with boar meat)
Any home made pasta at Trattoria will do, but home made Gnocchi was definitely another level. It was a perfect balance of savory with the sauce. There is a reason why so many people recommend Gnocchi.
Main: Brasato di Manzo (short rib)
One of the best braised short rib we had. It was perfectly cooked, very soft and smooth. The meat melts in your mouth, and the sauce was just the perfect taste. It was a little salty for me (personal preference for low sodium), but with mashed potato, I found my right balance.
Our server was exceptional. We were debating among so many wine choices, and she patiently explained all the differences and recommendations. She offered a sample of our few interested wine, which helped us decide which glass to get. Throughout the night, she was very attentive and no matter how busy the place was, we didn't feel ignored or not prioritized.

Very quaint little restaurant hiding on St. Paul Street. Make sure you call a day in advance or make reservations online because everyone wants a seat at this place. They were running a special for a veal shank. Never had the pleasure of having the opportunity to order a veal shank at a restaurant before. They cooked it medium rare perfectly. The service of this place is nothing short of impressive. They seated us early. Didn't rush our experience at all. Our waitress explained the specials and menu by memory almost poetically. The cocktail and wine menu are very extensive and bourgeois. Perfect place to take that special someone. I'll be back for pasta next time. Thank you.

We actually ate at Soto next door so we got both menus for Soto and trattoria delia. We ended up ordering only from trattoria delia. We got the duck, the quail, and the gnocchi. It was all so so so good! My favourite dish was the stuffed quail with mushroom risotto. I LOVED it! Definitely worth the $$$.

As someone coming from NYC, I didn’t have insanely high expectations, but this place proved me wrong! The buccatini was absolutely to die for and I’ll be dreaming of the chocolate torte. The cocktails were delicious too, I’d definitely come back!

Fancy little restaurant. Food was amazing best calamari we have ever had for appetizer. Good size portions as well

Everything was average. Not bad by any means but not above par either. Had the gnocchi dish in a cream sauce, claimed to have mushrooms but not a mushroom in sight. Plain taste, little bit of truffle oil and the sausage had almost no flavor (could pass as ground beef). Cocktail was excellent, service was good. Just nothing to be wowed by.

Beautiful almost hole in the wall Italian restaurant. It gets really packed so make sure you get a reservation. I went here for my birthday and they seated me in a private corner which was so nice. They also have seating in the back with a scenic decor wall of faux plants that makes it perfect for an instagrm pic. The menu is small as they do specialize, but all dishes are rich and delicious. I had the gnocchi and mushroom plate, and when those mushrooms touched my tongue, I thought I died and went to heaven. They are locally produced mushrooms and they were simmered in a heavenly sauce. I mentioned that my partner and I were guests and staying at a hotel and did not want to bring food back, and the host and waiter were happy to offer a half plate!!! Great service. I highly recommend doing so because the tiramisu was amazing! I have high standards for tiramisu and they use real marscapone cheese, which is mandatory and traditional. Currently has cute outdoor seating as well. Not sure if it will be available as it gets colder.
