Okay the food here tasted AMAZING!! We loved our vegan nachos, soup and salmon dishes. Portions were slightly on the smaller size for the price but we felt the flavor still made it worth it. We really appreciate the fun and tasty mocktail menu too! Overall, The Daily Planet menu has options for everyone, incredible vibes and attentive service. If you are visiting Burlington and trying to have a fun dinner out, this is the place!

A restaurant like no other, The Daily Planet was a very enjoyable experience. Emily, my waitress was very friendly and right on point with service. I was able to enjoy outside seating and noted the inside had great art that matched the setting. I enjoyed two adult beverages, the Smoke Jumper and the Kentucky Mash. Both were great, but the Smoke Jumper was particularly well mixed. I had two small plates; the Green Beans Almondine and the Gazpocho Verde. The The Green Beans Almindine was so good I want to try and make them at home. The Gazpocho Verde was excellent, but be prepared for a cold style soup, which I enjoy.

Staff was quite friendly. Restaurant was lively while still had seating without reservation. Appreciated that they had many vegan items, and they were clearly marked on the menu. Got the grilled sausage sandwich with Beyond Meat Bratwurst and greens. Enjoyed the fresh ingredients and flavors!

Pretty good place with nice atmosphere. The food was good and I liked their cocktail options. The Solarium is very beautiful, but be mindful that it's little chilly in the winter months, cause I think there is no heating in that area.

THIS PLACE WAS EXCELLENT! I ordered the Jalapeño Black Bean Fritters and Smokejumper Cocktail, both of which were absolutely delicious. The number of vegan options to choose from was great and the staff was very friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Both the cocktails and food were great, I had the thief in the night. The pork loin was incredibly tender and delicious. If we were from the area, we'd be regulars.

Totally awesome dinner here, with inventive cocktails, great service, and especially delicious entrees. Hot, savory dishes and fresh wine. Splendid apps. Cheerful atmosphere that filled up with happy diners. A big menu for many palates. A chill, funky decor offset by lots of natural night and idiosyncratic nooks. We even bought some of the art right off the wall.

Lovely atmosphere, the food was delicious, all three of us completely finished our plates! The staff was super nice, and when I asked for a suggestion between two dishes to get he actually have me an answer (I get bugged when wait staff say “they’re both great”) and it was a great choice. He was also super hot so that was a plus 😂 …

The food here slaps, the atmosphere is wonderful, the cocktails are great. All around a decent little hole in the wall restaurant, recently went there on a date and we both loved it. I've been here on several occasions and have always been impressed, my roommate is vegan and this is one of his favorite restaurants! The only thing I think they could work on is the bathroom situation, for how nice the restaurant is you shouldn't feel like you are entering a dirty bar bathroom.

I am so happy this place has so many vegan offerings! I got the Buffalo seitan sandwich and it was good! The little side salad was delicious as well. My partner got the gazpacho and loved it. I’d like to come back here to try all of the vegan dishes!

Daily Planet was delicious! The Mint Chocolate Cheesecake was HEAVEN! If you're a fan of mint, it has a strong bite of it, and the chocolate is so smooth.. Oreo crust brought it home. This is the dessert you didn't know you needed to try 🤤 I don't know what rabbit usually tastes like, but my rabbit was super tasty. Even the red cabbage & asparagus were flavorful! I was just as excited to eat the vegetable sides as I was the meat! I love that almost the entire menu is locally sourced. There were too many good options to choose from!

This restaurant was the best place my husband and I went on our entire VT vacation! Definitely make a reservation as it can get very crowded - I'm glad I did! The food came out SO quickly - we were suprised by the great service. And omg - the food was soooo good! I got the cider brined pork chops, and my husband got the ribeye. We both cleaned our plates!! Everything was perfectly cooked. I'll be dreaming about this place until our next trip to Burlington!

Great food and service! I had nikki's nachos (vegan) and vegan muffaletta, delicious !! 😋 We stayed outside, chill atmosphere. But you definitely should a take a peek inside, you'll be impressed with the design.

We were in town looking for a place to eat, but there were long waiting times for the places we tried. As we were returning to our car, we saw this restaurant down the alley and thought we'd give it a try. SO glad we did!! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they went to the extra trouble to squeeze us in their back dinning room which was really cozy. The food was fabulous, we split the Arugula, Asparagus and Oyster mushroom salad, Patats Bravas, and Nachos. We can easily recommend this restaurant, and will eat here again, next time we're in town.

New menu and I gotta say, it's pretty amazing. Drinks are amazingly unique. Servers are busy but engaging and knowledgeable. Food is fresh and strategically put together. I didn't make a reservation, I just walked in with my girlfriend. They sat me at the bar which I actually prefer. I would have stayed for dinner to but we were having such a great time with the drink menu we lost track of time. I'll be back for that local rabbit 🐇. Thank you!

Flavor is out of this world. Everything we tried was flavored perfectly, the Nikki Nachos are soooooo tasty. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My fiance and I both agree it was the best meal we've had in a very long time. Try the God of War drink!

Came here for dinner and it was delicious! We had the broccolini as an appetizer. I had the steak frites; the fries were tasty with the truffle oil and the steak was cooked well. My husband had the pork loin and the sauce was delicious. It was served with pickled carrots, bok Choy and a soft boiled egg. The egg was served cold (I think on purpose). We both got cocktails; I really loved the Neptune drink. Service was fair and prices were too. Will definitely come again!

Fantastic restaurant, in downtown Burlington. Truly clever dishes (see the menu photo). Everything we had was well prepared. We shared sliders, brussel sprouts, gnocchi, mac and cheese, steak... and the desserts. For the details, see the menu photos. The atmosphere is nice. But, don't confuse this with anything related to the DC comics Daily Planet... It's completely unrelated. Super friendly service. Will definitely go again. Highly recommended!

They vamped up their menu recently & their cocktail menu is fantastic! I got the two margs: the Smokejumper: amazing for one that loves a Smokey and spicy cocktail along with the Mariquita: the perfect set of spicy and sweetness!

One of our favorite 'daily driver' restaurants in BTV, we eat here a couple of times a month. Love the non-vegetablarian nachos (Niki's? Neels?) Drinks meet the 'this drink is worth the calories threshold', which doesn't happen at most places. The rib-eye is great. HOWEVER, we were cold the other night, and it never warmed up--but only 25 degrees outside--what do they do when it is really cold out? Also, our waitron was waaay insistent in getting our entre order--we like to pace our eating and have been burned by food coming out of kitchen too quickly (both here and other places), and like to order one course at a time.

Dropped my son off for college a few weeks ago! Bittersweet indeed, however, this is his favorite vegan spot in all of Burlington! As he puts it: “the vibes are immaculate”, which I think means that he simply enjoys the ease of getting vegan food late at night! For all vegans this is a must go and for all late night snackers this is a must try!

The Daily Planet is well known for their burgers and cocktails, and for good reason; they are great. The food is top quality, with a menu that rotates, which is refreshing, but they also have a good list of "classics" they keep on the regular. If I'm going out for drinks and some good eats, this place is my go to. The Duck Confit Poutine is delicious. Very recommend.

The food was ok. Just ok. I had the chicken burger. It was good, but the chicken burgers at Chick-fil-A are better. The beer and spirits were great. The service was very good too. I would come here again for sure. I will say, getting a table was awkward. The hostess was not friendly and my kids and I kind of just stood there awkwardly.

Excellent food and top-notch staff! Our group had a great time here. The cocktails are imaginative and tasty. The dishes are all over the place and very creative. Hard to pin down the 'type' of restaurant, and eclectic is probably a good choice. We were pleased with everything.

A friendly place with above average everything! Our food was exceptionally delicious. I can’t believe how complacent I’ve become… but when I bit into the burger, I realized how far my culinary expectations have fallen. We chose it for the vegan options though, and they were equally impressive according to my daughter. Also, the mocktails (yes I hate me too for saying that) are not to be missed.

Food, cocktails, ambiance and staff were all wonderful! Daily Planet made for a great night out. Excellent extensive list of options for vegans/vegetarians. I got the spicy bok choy and the asparagus and mushroom salad which were both wonderful. My partner got a beyond burger which was also delicious. Staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating. We considered coming again immediately!

Loved the food here! There's an immense amount of pleasure when everything you eat has complex flavor profiles and mesh beautifully together. While the portions are on the smaller size they make up for it exponentially. A modest selection of craft brews, ecclectic cocktail selection will leave your tongue and senses dazzled.

We recently traveled through 3 states in one week and this was the best dining experience we had. The food was interesting and delicious, service was unbeatable, and we thought we got great value for the money spent. My drink, a mocktail with tangerine juice and basil, was so inventive and tasty, and my salmon entree was fantastic. (I think the tabbouleh side would have been better warm or even room temp, but it was still very good as served.) Desserts were OUT of this WORLD — we had the vegan mint chocolate cheesecake and the chocolate milk creme brulee, and I thought we would have to be rolled out of there in a food coma. The waitress truly went above and beyond, though, when my daughter (newly vegetarian) didn't like her entree. We ordered a second entree for her, and the waitress comped it without so much as blinking an eye. (What a contrast to another Burlington restaurant *cough*Splash*cough*) that just flat out refused to accommodate my daughter at all.) I had every expectation of paying for it; it wouldn't have occurred to me not to, so I was blown away, and it was so much more than I would expect any restaurant to do. We tipped large and will be back every time we're in town.

Went here for the first time and the food was amazing. I got the Mac and Cheese with Bacon. My boyfriend got the Burger. Both were delicious. I also go a lemonade and it was amazing. You have to try it. 4 stars because it took a bit longer than normal for the server to come to our table and other tables got their food before my table and I was the first to get there.

Food was good but really pricey for what you get. I ordered the buffalo seitan sandwich and it was a small piece of seitan that took up maybe a third of the bun it was on. The sauce was good and the seitan itself was good, but for 16 bucks, I felt it was lacking. We also ordered a salad, another 15 bucks, and that was good, so I was told. We also got the truffle fries and gazpacho, which I was told was good but reminded them of guacamole. Overall the experience was good. Staff was nice, food was good, but again, to me the price is a bit much for the portion that I got. The other sizes seemed ok though. Maybe it was a fluke.

Cool place. Love the decor & vibe; Kinda 90s in a very good way. The menu has great options for a diverse group of eaters: My friend said their burger was perfect, and I can't stop thinking about the vegan cauliflower steak a week later. Nice cocktail/mocktail list as well.

Daily Planet has got to be my favorite restaurant in Burlington. Not only is the service excellent, the food is amazing. The dishes - on a rotating menu - are well thought out and flavorful, and the choice of what to eat is often difficult in the face of many viable options... I will always come back to Burlington specifically for the Daily Planet! The staff has always made me and friends feel so welcome and happy. Cozy, comfortable, and delicious.

I stopped in for dinner while traveling. The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. They have several creative mocktails. The two I tried were very good. The grilled asparagus appetizer was quite tasty, the ribeye was perfectly cooked and very well presented, the vegan chocolate mint cheesecake was excellent. I highly recommend dining here.

The food was delicious! We had the butter burger, steak sandwich, grilled cauliflower and what I thought said grilled artichoke, chick pea and romaine. But it was not grilled. Still good though. The waitress was somewhat absent. She didn't ask how we wanted our burger or steak cooked. I found that odd. Good, but I could take it or leave it.

I cannot believe how much I loved this place. The ambiance in the atrium-like section of the restaurant is amazing, our waiter was so kind, and the food was truly to die for. I had the Buffalo seitan sandwich and I highly recommend this. It was so nice to have vegan options as well and non-vegan options so our whole party could enjoy themselves. Great cocktail menu as well.

Lots of outdoor seating. Delicious, expertly executed food. Fast and friendly service. What more could I ask for? We ordered2 cocktails, the Honey n hips painkiller. Both were excellent. I was surprised because I typically hate gin and yet the Honey n hips was really good despite that. The brussel sprouts with pork belly small plate was the perfect combo of sweet, salty, savory, and crunchy. And we ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich which my husband says was a very yummy balance of well coated with sauce, but not soggy, and just a bit spicy. I had the tongue-in-cheek sandwich and it was perfectly tender. Yum!

Must have been an off night... The vegan alfredo was flavorless and watery (and really expensive, for what it was). The bread pudding was nice, but cold on the inside. The sandwiches were good though, and awesome servers. Wanted to love it, but didn't.

Another great experience at the daily planet! Tonight we had a large party including little ones. Everyone left raving about the meal and atmosphere! We sat on the deck and it was shady by the time we sat down just before 5, perfect for a hot summer day. The mariquita is SO good especially if you like spicy margs! Steaks were perfectly cooked, and the double butter burger is the best in town! Not to mention the apps which were divine. We got the seared cauliflower, chioggia beets, and blue cheese croquettes to share and all got rave reviews. The kids loved the Mac n cheese and fries, some kids Mac n cheese is pretty bland but this is an adult worthy dish (definitely stole some bites)! Can’t recommend enough!

I came here with my mom to get some drinks and small plates and it was so yummy! We got the cauliflower and ended up splitting the scallops, everything was cooked perfectly!! Wow!!!! My husband and I ate there just last night. We had the Steak Frits and the Scallops ! everything was perfect. I wanted a Bloody Mary which the waitress told me hey did not have just yet. She recommended another drink to me. It was a Mariquita and it was delicious. I thought that was awesome of her. It had some spice and a little kick. I had never had a drink be so delicious. Do not, I repeat, do not listen to the old reviews of this restaurant. It is under entirely new management with a new chef and it has transformed into a truly 5 star restaurant. Can’t say I’ve had a better dining experience in a long time. Every dish we had was utterly impeccable, service was attentive to our every need and yet never intrusive, and prices were reasonable, amazing cocktails as well, whipped up by expert bartenders.Covid safety practices were strictly adhered too, which we really appreciate these days. Keep up the amazing work we will be back many many times.

Really fun menu, drinks are fantastic. The setup for checking in with the host is a little crowded with other tables where people are sitting, so it feels a bit awkward if you’re standing waiting for a while. Otherwise, really great vibes and atmosphere!

Excellent all around. Friendly service without being overbearing. Food and cocktails are amazing. You cannot go wrong. Can put recommend this place enough. The rabbit and venison stew and the “honey and hips” will send you home feeling like a rockstar without breaking the bank. A quaint, local spot with a world class menu. In spite of some of the old reviews, service was impeccable. I’ve looked and can find nothing over which to fault this joint. 10/10 would recommend.

WOW! Delicious vegan options. I was able to experience their Save the Planet Burger, Buffalo Seitan sandwich and to my surprise VEGAN parm fries. Super flavorful... and I felt included at the bar for once (token vegan probs lol). The employees and especially their bar tender were super sweet, friendly and helpful in getting my friends and I the perfect drinks. 10/10 recommend! :)

The menu is full of variety and seasonal dishes. The sharing plates make dinner fun and interesting, with items ranging from sliders to scallops. The beer selection is great. The service was somewhat slow and the restaurant was a bit dim, but overall a great experience. Would gladly come again and try different dishes.

The Daily Planet is my fave spot in Burlington. I am a native Vermonter & have lived in the BTV area for 7 years. I have watched a lot of restaurants come & go. The Daily Planet is the only longstanding restaurant that hasn't faltered in quality of food, atmosphere & service. The new owners have kept the incredible vibe, enhanced the already bomb cocktails 7 added an incredible vegan menu. My boyfriend & I come here for every date night! And it's the fave spot to bring all our visiting friends to because we can be sure they won't be disappointed!

Unique space with mixed architectural features, art for sale on the walls and a medium-sized cocktail list. The burgers have been inconsistent but there was a great brussel sprout app and the scallops were delicious. Make a reservation and for a quieter experience opt out of the bar area.

Amazing place for all ages. Restaurant or bar, you can choose the side. One side is more as a restaurant setup if you want a romantic dinner or you go to the bar side if you want to have the bar vibe. Staff is usually very friendly and helpful. Food is mostly great depending what is on the menu as they keep adding new and taking old stuff out. I have been going to Daily for 7 years now and I always had fun. The prices are little higher then other places but they do have great specials throughout the week especially my fav monday burger night for half price and it comes with fries! I have had burger night traditions there with lots of my friends and family. In all this place is a real Vermont soul. Just go and convince yourself :) Thank you Planet!

Wonderful service by Cameron! Went in for my birthday dinner and received nothing less than the best. Lots of options and willingness to make adjustments to dishes which was very helpful as my sister and I have allergies. They even let us bring in our own dessert to enjoy! Great location and ambiance. Highly recommend. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Food quality was good. They have half price burgers on Monday (7$) which is a really good deal. The place is clean. The staff are friendly. However preparation time of the food was a little bit long. There restaurant was not that busy the night that we went and it took almost 40 minutes for 4 burgers. I like the place.

Traveling the country you see a lot of ideas. From time to time, you come upon a place where the idea was formed, executed and subsequently enjoyed by not only the people who patron, but the staff as well. In other words, the people who serve are proud of their product, and it reflects in their service. The ambiance is cozy, simple eclectic. They boast a comfort food menu for all palates, in a large/small plate format. And the drinks....my goodness the drinks. A mixologist of great creativity, talent and passion will help you discover the experience you seek. Just ask, wait, watch, and enjoy. 5 stars for the tourist looking to go local. Cheers!

(I want to give 3.5 stars...) Nostalgia brings me here. Menu and staff have changed over the years, but little else. Decent enough food, creative (soup wasn't hot, but tasty...), perennially awful art on the walls (college town...), fun atmosphere. Dinning room or sit in the bar area. Live, local music. Drink and food specials. Near parking garage, but a little tricky to find for the first time... weird little one-block street. Worth a visit, but keep your expectations realistic.

I dined at the Daily Planet last evening with 4 of my grandchildren ages 7 to 16. We had read reviews done by others and also checked with a friend who lived in Burlington for many years. We looked forward to our evening and to the meal. The meal did not disappoint. However, the hostess, Christina, left much to be desired. She must have been having a bad day. She did not greet us, her demeanor indicated the she was irritated to have to seat us, all in all she acted as if she would rather be anywhere except where she was. Too bad! The waiter, Toby, made up for her surliness. He was upbeat, friendly, and extremely attentive to our entire group. One star for Christina, five for Toby.

By far one of my favorite restaurants in Burlington!! Great service, friendly people, and amazing food. The Grilled Maple Wind Farm Chicken Breast is my favorite dish on the menu and I highly recommend it.

Lovely restaurant in downtown Burlington! We’ve dined in and done take out. For take out we ordered neil’s nachos, tacos, and the butter burger. Everyone was impressed and we will definitely be ordering again!

Solid american fare menu and good consistency from the Kitchen for a few years now, however inconsistent and often forgetful service. Swordfish and lamb lilopop dinners are a personal favorites and don't miss the side brussel sprouts. Usually friendly service but can be nightmarish on the weekends.

Ate there last night. After a bumpy start (Saturday night, last minute web reservation), we waited briefly on a do over and were thrilled by the attention of the staff and the food perfect. Autumn clam chowder is exquisite like nothing you've had before. Scallops and even the burger were perfect. A big city gem in Burlington, hail to the chef and staff.

The daily planet is and always will be a favorite. After working here for two years i can say that i have never seen such dedication to serving and having a beautiful meal with beautiful surroundings!! Chef Justin truly puts his soul into the menus and his masterpieces. The planet became a second home, and on days that i had my toddler by myside they always welcomed him with open arms into the daily fun!! I'll always be forever grateful for these amazing souls!! The food is AMAZING but most of all the energy of this old classic spot in burly vt is delightful.. I'd say my favorite part is the local art they hang on the walls, and the beautiful plants all around. So full of life and joy. Forever and always my favorite place to sit and eat!!! Go check it outt!!♡♡♡

Had a larger group of 8 people - we were able to be sat quickly. Food and drink were great, nice atmosphere, service was quick - felt rushed at the end of the night to leave - was around 10pm. Would go back earlier in the day.

Needed a break from the Church Street bars for some food. This was a short walk away and serves "late night bites" after 10 PM. All of the snacks were great and it came out in less than 10 minutes. My only complaint is that it took over 10 minutes before a waitress got to our table. Soon after our waitress came by for the first time another one checked that we were being served. Service was great otherwise, so I'm going to call that some kind of fluke.

Tried some Duck Poutine here, my first time trying poutin and it was pretty great. They had some really interesting menu options here but the group of people I was with had some picky eaters so we only stopped in for drinks and a quick app (the poutine).
