Reviews of Handy's Lunch
Amazing!! The food is awesome. The seats may not be suitable for larger humans, but we sat near the entrance. Service was great, the Macho Man was by far one of the best reuben sandwiches I've ever had, and the coffee was so good. Definitely check it out if you're staying in Burlington or passing through.
Stopped in for breakfast while on a Dudes trip to Burlington to see Stavros Halkias comedy show.
This place is awesome ..... Great food great atmosphere and great people. Sat down and started talking with the owners like we've been going there for years.
My buddy Levi took down the chuck Norris breakfast sandwich like it was his job in under 5 minutes .... Would have been quicker if it wasn't hot and fresh off the griddle ...... They might re-name it the Levo Lane.
I wish this place was closer to home because I would definitely be a regular.
If you're in the area or even close make sure you stop in and enjoy.
Most deliciousness breakfast sandwiches in the whole wild world. Grab a seat and enjoy while sipping a coffee, or walk/drive down to the water and absorb the tranquility of Lake Champlain. Magical enough you forget about the world for a bit.
Atmosphere is awesome. Walk in and they greet you, food is made pretty much in front of you. Yes a little pricey but WELL WORTH IT. Best breakfast sandwiches around hands down. I'd drink an hours from where I live to eat there again and again.
What an awesome spot! Got the “Big Daddy” and I am gonna be waddling back to my car. Friendly people, great food, cool atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
We were in Burlington to visit UVM from Nashville, and were looking for a great breakfast joint. After a little research we decided on Handy’s, and I couldn’t have been happier. It was delicious. They have lots of breakfast sandwiches to choose from, real French toast, homemade pancakes, and delicious bacon! Couldn’t have felt more welcome to be there too. Really enjoyed it, and look forward to being back!
Handy's Lunch a staple of Burlington since 1945. Earl Handy the third generation is as fine of a man as his Dad was before him. Earl's sisters and until a couple of years ago his Mother could be seen helping out. I went with my usual two Texas dogs with fries. Awesome as always.
Classic diner that has a down to earth feel. Prices are very fair and the owner is very friendly. Had the corned beef hash and eggs over easy. I would definitely recommend stopping by.
Beast breakfast/brunch in burlington area! Great breakfast sandwiches, best pancakes, and epic all around! Came to burlington from out of town and got a classic American diner feel that is not available in my home town.
I was only in town for one day and I wanted to make sure that I did breakfast right. I looked up and I switch to a few different places and Handy’s seem like the Way to go and boy it was. Every thing tasted amazing. I’m talking some of the best French toast I’ve ever had and probably will ever have. This is an easy recommendation from me to locals and visitors alike.
Simple, delicious and affordable.
Great breakfast spot. Good portions and some nice concoctions with french toast. Definitely recommend. If you stick to basics 2 eggs,2 pancake, 3 meats for just under 10$. Check out their specialty sandwich menu. It closes fairly early around 1pm.
If you're in Burlington, this is the place to go for a great breakfast! It's a small neighborhood place with a casual, friendly vibe, excellent homemade corned beef hash and interesting breakfast sandwiches.
Handy’ is a hidden gem. Delicious, fast, and fresh. Earl and the staff are delightfully friendly. You feel like part of the family.
This is the kind of place you have in mind when the topic of American diners pops up.
The food is familiar, the coffee is hot and the welcome is warm. I hadn’t been back in years and Earl recognized me and asked how’d I been? I was surprised he remembered me.
You get a real sense of community from Handy’s Diner. There’s photos of the local high school sports teams and signed photos of some of their famous patrons.
You’re missing out if you don’t visit this place.
A phenomenal, traditional lunch counter experience. Try the "Macho Man" -- a combination Reuben/patty melt double decker... or if you're really hungry, try the Chuck Norris, with five layers of French toast, sausage, bacon, eggs, and cheese. So much nutrition and vitamins in one sandwich! Highly recommended.
OMG! Had no idea what we were getting into. Highly recommend, great family owned place. The Chuck Norris was amazing! Perfect for 2 people, but I could have finished it myself, just wasn't prepared! Lol. Very friendly staff, open and chatty. Great breakfast and lunch place!
Great "greasy spoon" style breakfast diner! Solid attentive service and excellent breakfast everytime. Try the Chuck Norris special! Thank you!
Best of the best. Inexpensive, dope owner, such a cultural stamp in Burlington. (if you don’t know what to get….always get the black belt)
Food's ok, prices for burgers are ok, have had at least one negative encounter with staff though, usually they're fine however, no particular reason for me personally to go back though
While visiting Burlington, we found this cute, retro, memorable spot to enjoy some breakfast. Our meal was hardy, tasty and all for a great price. The owner was super friendly and really cared about his customers. Seemed like a well-loved, local spot with a staff that puts much of that love back into the community...so we were happy to support it! Definitely check it out.
Great quick service, nice servers and great food. Definitely recommend. Try the Reuben, it’s outstanding an plenty of food for a hearty meal.
Perfect. Just the quintessential food counter. The service was excellent and the food was served quickly and put together very well. Places like this are what makes this country great. Diverse and dignified little businesses that treat everyone like family.
Amazing food. Amazing place. The owner was great along with all of the employees. I felt like I was a regular. I left happy and full. This is a MUST stop if you are in Burlington.
Counter seating in a family style cafe, inexpensive and delicious sandwiches include fries and a drink. I stopped in and had a chicken sandwich that was so thick, I had to wrap up half and take it home with me.
Great food, great people, great prices!!! Parking and seating is very very tight. If small, tight quarters make you uncomfortable I highly suggest ordering take out😉 if you love socializing and meeting new people, enjoying a meal with a new friend this is your place🙂 …
So glad my family happened upon this local diner while spening a few hours in Burlington waiting for a flight. We were greeted by Earl the minute we arrived and had attentive, friendly service the whole time. Food was delicious and filling. I highly recommend Handy's Lunch for great food and wonderful service.
Visiting Burlington from just outside of Philadelphia. My boyfriend and I visited Handy’s this morning and we had a great experience. The minute we walked in we were immediately greeted by the waitress and the cook. We decided to split the Big Daddy’s Breakfast dish and the cook kindly cut all the included items in half which was thoughtful. The food was so good and it was a ton for only about $10 bucks. Handy’s is a cool place that you can tell has a neighborhood following. I also enjoyed hearing the owner discuss with other patrons all the things Handy’s was involved in during the pandemic (like donating time and food/meals to working nurses during the initial Covid shut down). When my boyfriend and I inevitably visit Burlington again in the future, we will be sure to come grab a meal at Handy’s again!
Great food, great value and a great, longtime family owned Vermont institution to be cherished and valued. Make sure to let Earl know how much you like the food. It's well worth a visit. Big portions too.
Go here for unpretentious diner food at an authentic lunch counter. The third generation of Handys are serving hot dogs, sandwiches and pancakes to locals looking for an affordable meal and a big smile from behind the counter. If you have opinions about sports get ready to get as much as you give from Earl, the Handy in residence. Burlington and UVM history served up with the fries and soft drinks.
One of the best diners. Great food and great staff and the always personable Earl. Just brought our grandson so four generations of family (located three states away) have had the pleasure to eat at Handy's. We will be back!
Cool diner with real food. Watched them crack the eggs for my veggie omelette. Friendly staff and guests. Reminded me of the diners in middle of nowhere Michigan where I grew up. Good experience.
The cutest family owned restaurant! The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly. Definitely go here!!
Visiting from out of town and looking for a local quick bite. This place was perfect. Cozy space, delicious food, and amazingly friendly staff. Nothing face, just solid basic breakgadt and lunch fare. Reminds me of the small diners in Boston. Wish I lived closer because I'd be a regular here.
Whenever the road trip comes 30 min near Handy's, we are there! Great sandwiches awesome breakfast, and great people. This morning's long road trip started with me punching in the GPS straight to Handy's for breakfast to fuel up on the 5 hour trip to the Maple Fest in St Albans.
A great lunch spot with great prices. I live next to Handys and go often, the food is consistently good whether it's take out or dine in and the pricing is even better. The employees are always nice as well and the whole place has a very hometown feel. Do beware though, it's a small restaurant with very little seating, especially when it's busy around lunch time.
Excellent sandwiches and even better service. When I am in Burlington it's my go to for breakfast or lunch. Highly recommend.
Staff was friendly & funny. Atmosphere was classic, casual & welcoming. Hometown vibes. Breakfast was good - french toast, pancakes, rye roast, eggs & home fries all 5/5. They have an open kitchen and we saw other food being made which all looked great. Quick & affordable. Thank you!!!
Great, great food abs a amazing staff. Sunday brunch go to Handy's. Hungover and need food, go to Handy's.
What a pleasant breakfast we had! The food was everything I was looking for in a breakfast. The pancakes were so good. The people that were working there were so nice and friendly. Great conversation. I can’t say enough good things about this place to actually do it justice. Such a nice old school feel in a too fast paced world.
Déjeuner memorable avec les chums en visite à Burlington. Thanks for the hospitality and incredible food. Chuck Norris 1- 0 I'll get him next time
I highly recommend Handy's Lunch, especially for solo travelers through Burlington. The food is delicious and everyone is so friendly. I really enjoyed the communal counter. Seems everyone knows everyone here! Prices can't be beat either.
This is an icon of Burlington and deservedly so. A small diner with only counter seating, one might be dissuaded from stopping in but that would be a mistake. Certainly a local place, everyone was resolving life's decisions and catching up on gossip, but I was comfortable as if I'd lived there my entire life. Great service and exceptional menu items. Bring an appetite and prepare yourself for a wonderful experience.
Good food that's served quickly, and good service. It's not super healthy but would recommend to anyone wanting a filling breakfast.
Great food, lives up to the name.
Staying in Burlington for a few days and stumbled across this gem yesterday! We love a great dinner and were not disappointed. The breakfast was so good and the service was friendly, we had to return today. I seriously thought about the Chuck Norris, but sanity prevailed and I enjoyed the Black Belt sandwich instead. Definitely recommend for good food and friendly conversation.
Great food , great people fun everytime .
Great small breakfast diner. Seating is extremely limited, and it might take a bit to get your food because of their cramped kitchen... But they have a few calorie-laden, gut-filling menu items.
Best place ever!!! Some of the friendliest people I have ever met and the food is awesome
Walked in a zombie, walked out feeling alive. I loved how welcoming and friendly the owner is and how he and his daughter were working together :)
Warmed my heart
Lunch was great, and the staff was friendly. Burgers were delicious, but small. Go for the double.
Saw this diner featured on Man vs. Food, and knew that we had to stop here on our recent trip to Vermont. Both my girlfriend and I ordered the Chuck Norris sandwich, which certainly lived up to the hype. I finished mine with ease, while my girlfriend started to slow at the end. Be ready for a gastric experience like no other. If you love breakfast, as much as I do, then you'll love the sandwiches offered here. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mr. Handy, and he was more than helpful to let us know about some activities to check out up in Vermont. Coming from NYC, it was nice to meet someone so friendly who had inside knowledge of what to see and do. Thanks again, and on our next visit to VT, we will make sure to swing by again for another "battle" with Chuck Norris. 😉
Little mom and pop place. Loved it. Owners were very personable! Felt like we known them forever. Breakfast was so good we ate there the next day too. We also ordered a sub to go as we were travelling. Sub was served on a baguette which made the sub over the top!!
We got one of the French toast breakfast sandwiches and the big daddy breakfast. The food was AWESOME. I love diner breakfast and the sausage was wonderful and I love the real maple syrup. Unfortunately, the service was really terrible. The girls behind the counter didn’t refill our waters or ask if we needed anything until we stared them down. It was just little things like no napkins in the holder, no toilet paper in the bathroom, the salt shakers needed to be wiped down, that I couldn’t help but notice. I would give the food five stars, but the service was just frustratingly bad.
Solid food and service. The syrup was outta this world.
Fantastic service with a friendly staff who took time to give us recommendations for what to do and where to go in the area. We went for a late breakfast and they still had a good selection for “late risers” including their famed french toast double and triple decker breakfast sandwiches which were DELICIOUS. Tiny hole-in-the-wall place with no parking but it was worth the walk down the block. Would go again 100%.
Incredibly good! Get the Big Daddy breakfast, comes with eggs, toast / English muffin, pancakes (or French toast, if you ask), sausage, bacon, and home fries! All for $10.
Was looking for breakfast places near my college and this was my first result. About 3 minutes from the water front and 10 minutes from downtown (maximum). Small family owned restaurant with great breakfast and from the looks of it, amazing lunch too. The staff were kind and attentive and there was a sense of family there. Not too big, which I think helps the place. Also you can see everything being made. Would highly reccomend, just not with huge groups of people. Also try the pancakes and the sst.
This place is an absolutely must if you are in Vermont. It is absolutely perfect from the counter that run across the entire establishment, to how friendly everyone is who works there. It's a piece of Americana that makes you warm inside, and like you might be a part of a community just by sitting down and eating. Not to mention the sandwiches are delicious!
The way breakfast should be. This was my first time. Communal counter, never ending coffee, great service even during the rush, and most importantly delicious food. There’s a reason it’s been open since 1945. Don’t ever change a thing. Thanks!
This was exactly the breakfast spot we were looking for... No frills, straight up diner where the breakfast was absolutely top notch! Sure you can get a Mammoth sandwich as featured on Man vs. food and other tv shows, but I don't think you'll find a better bacon egg and cheese or straight up breakfast anywhere else in Burlington... Especially at this price point. It surprisingly was not crowded when we visited on a Tuesday morning.
Good food in a clean, family run, neighborhood counter
diner like setting. Great coffee.
Small town diner feel with excellent food. Staff is friendly especially the owner, he greets almost everyone coming in and talking to him makes you feel like you've known him for years. My wife and I both had the Big Daddy breakfast and finished them in record time. Highly recommend for breakfast!!
Earl and his family have been running this incredible eatery for MANY years and my family has been enjoying the food there since the 1970s. Well run, clean, and UNBELIEVABLY delicious food. Whether it's a lunch plate or a breakfast plate (which is my favorite by the way), everything is cooked to order and PERFECT! I especially like the family and small town vibe there. You can read the paper all to yourself or interact with anyone in earshot. LOVE this place! Thanks Earl and family!
Everything (and more) you'd ever want from a local corner store style diner. The Black Belt is the perfect hangover cure, while the McHandy is an ideal morning breakfast sandwich. Earl is always super nice, and clearly prides himself on being a member of the local community. If you want a no-frills, non-pretentious breakfast spot that's affordably priced and exactly what you imagined, this is absolutely the spot to come!
We stopped here for breakfast while on a road trip. We didn't want any of the usual fast food places, so we were aiming at a little cafe or something outrageously delicious and filling. I found the second option here at Handy's. And oh boy it didn't disappoint. I went with the biggest breakfast item, the Chuck Norris, that's five french toast with eggs, ham, sausage, and pastrami. I took mine without cheese, and tea. I realized this bad boy represented my day's full calorie intake. So choose wisely, or share it with a friend, or hopefully, you're a teenager and you'll burn it off, otherwise, plan accordingly 😁 One last thing, the owners are wonderfully welcoming and gracious hosts. This place is a family joint and you can see that they know everybody.
Wow!
Not only was the food very reasonably priced and tasted fantastic, they captured the true essence of great diner food w/ it's own personal twist!
We had hot dogs/ hamburgers and sweet potato tots, etc... and each item was prepared w/ love, every bite was delightful and even the owner who's also the cook, took the time to come out and talk with us, he's a very passionate softly spoken man who obviously prides himself on carrying on the family legacy 3 generations later and suggested other must see places to visit around here.
Handy's is very cozy and a must visit when in Burlington VT.
Love this place. Tasty breakfast comfort food and low prices. Earl, the owner, is a great guy and always greets you with a warm hello. I visited here from out of town and was best choice I made. Can't wait to get back when I'm in Burlington.
TIP: Get the Big Daddy Breakfast. You can thank me later.
Hole in the wall diner with just a counter (like in the painting Nighthawks), but what a great breakfast. Friendly wait staff and steady local crowd, so it isn't loud. Ordered the Big Daddy breakfast for $9 and got a platter of blueberry pancakes (could have also gotten plain or chocolate) , sausage, bacon 2 eggs, toast and home fries. The home fries are diced potatoes, browned and crisped on the griddle and are fantastic. The pancakes have just the right amount of blueberries and are fluffy and moist and I think the syrup is the real deal. Nice mug of stiff coffee and I'm ready for the weekend.
I had bookmarked this establishment on Yelp and finally made it here!
I am a big fan of diner type restaurants for breakfast, so while in town we came in. We dined on a weekday morning and it was very quiet, but this seems like the type of spot that would get more crowded on a weekend.
Parking can be a little tricky around here, but we found a free 2 hour spot on a nearby road.
The decor inside is cute and I love that this place has been open since 1945! The restaurant has an old timey feel with it's lunch counter and stools.
Food prices are affordable and should be friendly to most budgets.
Cute place to visit if you are looking for a unique spot to eat.
loved the sweet potatoes toters! very nice staff!
Whenever I'm in Burlington I try to make it to Handy's just like a lunch counter should be great food and the nicest people you could imagine good to go back in time once in awhile
Best breakfast sandwich I've had in my life.
Honestly one of the best diners I've been to. The blackbelt breakfast sando has brought me back from some of the most aggressive hangovers of my life.
Highly recommend Handy‘s lunch for breakfast and lunch. Huge portions, great prices, child friendly and an accommodating owner! I’ve brought my boys there since they were little and there was never an issue with our food or the service.
I first learned about this place from watching Man vs Food and had to take a look (as well as a taste) for myself. I was not disappointed at all! The food was delicious and my husband and I even took on the Chuck Norris Challenge which was the highlight of MVF. My husband was able to finish it and the whole dinner cheered! The seating is limited though so coming in earlier rather than later is a good idea. It's worth it!!
This is the best place to get breakfast that I know of. Whenever I go, I get the "Chuck Norris"- a 5-decker breakfast sandwich that is a must-have! Always great to talk to others at the counter, or listen to conversation!
Hands down my favorite dining experience in Burlington. Earl and fam dish out some amazing breakfast that is just killer. If you’re in the area and like small, family own and operator diners with amazing food...this is a must visit. I can’t wait to come back!
Great find off the beaten path! I came in after seeing it on the travel channel, I tried the chuck Norris but even though it is 3.5 lbs of deliciousness I could not defeat it . The owner and staff were so kind and gave us ideas of things to do in town, you don't find places like this too often. It's a must if you are in Burlington.
Randomly stumbled into this AMAZING diner while visiting beautiful Vermont, from Indiana. Great service, delicious fresh tasting food cooked right in from of you. Can't wait to go back! Thank you for a great time :)
Handy’s is across the street from my work and I eat here occasionally with my coworkers. Mary is always very friendly and the food is always good. The prices are reasonable and the menu has a nice variety whether you are there for breakfast or lunch!
This place is awesome. A lil neighborhood diner with great food and better company.. they found out we were from Texas and asked if we were ok from hurricane Harvey. Very genuine people. If we lived up here this would be a mainstay for us. We were made to feel at home and very welcomed. I can’t say enough about these great people. Give it a shot. It’s a bit off the beaten path but you won’t be sorry for it. Get the Apple cinnamon pancakes.
I had lunch at Handy's for the first time today, and I was definitely impressed. I went because it seemed to have positive reviews on Google and Yelp, so I figured I would give it a shot. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. It was a very friendly environment, albeit a little cramped due to the small dining area, and priced fairly. I will definitely be visiting again, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
This was our favorite place we ate during our trip to Burlington. The Black Belt was ridiculously good. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. If I lived here, I'd come here every day.
Awesome place to go for an even better lunch. The pricing is great and the portions are perfect. I had the philly cheesesteak and it was scrumptious. It has a small diner atmosphere with big restaurant taste. I will definitely return to Handy's for another great meal.
It doesn't get more hometown friendly than Handy's Lunch. Earl, Mary and Jan (Ma) are so welcoming and make you immediately feel warm on the coldest Vermont days. As good as Earl's meals (breakfast is always perfect, lunch usually a VERY healthy portion) is the conversation dished out at the counter-only sitting. If you live in Burlington and have never been, you must. If you are visiting, get the true flavors of our city. Have a seat and enjoy a Handy's Lunch meal.
The hidden gem of burlington. Absolutely the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, super friendly waitstaff and employees. Can't recommend enough.
The staff was incredibly accommodating to our large group and took great attention and care to make sure all 16 of us were fed. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. Great place! Totally recommend.
The environment was very cozy with horse shoe style seating. We were ecstatic as we watched the large plates of food be served.
Throughout our entire experience we patiently waited with cheerful smiles and responses.
Basic request such as more creamer, water or our order of 2nd toast was forgotten. Our first order was actually given to the entirely wrong person..that's no big deal though. It was interesting to watch as others basic dinning experience needs were unfulfilled. One man even needed my assistance in grabbing the attention of a waitress. How can this man enjoy his coffee when his mug is empty. Glasses of water were non existent as I saw only a few people with this luxary.
The food was wholesome and the owner (Mr. Handy) was the only one in there taking care of the customers and holding down the fort.
It's unfortunate his front end employees lack excitement, engagement and customer service skills. The business could surely make immeasurable gains with new staffing
My favorite lunch joint and my partner did the 'Chuck Norris' challenge and was the first female to complete the challenge. The sandwich is stacked with five pieces of French toast, four eggs, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, a hamburger patty and corned beef, with Vermont maple syrup on the side. Great place, staff and atmosphere.
It may say "Lunch", but I go for the Breakfast! The large U-shaped counter dining is a classic and there's no bad seat in the house. Earl and his family have been around forever and the local history is evident in the framed articles and photographs. Everyone feels welcome...be you a "local" or student or out-of-towner. Oh, and the food is always just the way you want it -- from the simple to the newsworthy "Big Daddy".
Great little spot and super affordable. The pancakes were only okay but the sandwiches looked awesome! And they have a fun food challenge that is not on the menu for those who are into that.
Still the best breakfast spot in Burlington.
Food is amazing earl is a very personable person. He knows my family when we visit from CT. He remembers you no matter what. The food is very good and well priced. One of my favorite eats around.
My GF and I ate breakfast at Handy's for the first time during our first time Burlington vacation. It is hands down one of the BEST diners we've ever been to. We were greeted as soon as we walked in like we were regulars. Staff was super nice and the food arrived in no time and was AMAZING. We got pancakes, scramby eggs, toast, sausage, coffee...all of it money yummy and doesn't cost a lot of money. And Handy's is conveniently walking distance from downtown Burlington. Nice music store across the street as well for us musicians with lots of guitars to play with. :-)
Real pancakes with real maple syrup ... Don't miss them !!!
This is throw-down, high-five the cook kinda food in a super friendly, down-to-earth, relaxed, casual atmosphere. Food was awesome, service was great and Handy and his staff were amazing! Leave your pretensions behind and go to Handy's!
This place was amazing! From the food to the service, it really couldn’t have been better! We were here for just a few hours and the staff gave us recommendations for other things to do. Everyone was so nice and our Philly cheesesteaks were bomb!
Phenomenal breakfast food and an old school diner scene. Yankee and Giants fans to boot!
It was awesome!! My husband and I split the master black belt sandwich. It was amazing!! And perfect for two. I couldn't imagine trying the Chuck Norris but it did look good but super big!!!! Will definitely be back
If you don't know, now you know... Handy's is the spot
A Local institution! While the blue collar croud has been replaced by a hipper crowd (yours truly excluded, of course) the food and the staff haven't changed. Great place to dine alone or have a quick breakfast or lunch meeting, plan on always having a full hot cup of coffee and good conversation with the wait and cookstaff!
The hometown favorite, the cats meow, the bees knees, the homerun grand slam walk off champagne shower, is how I would describe Handy’s. Looking for a diner-style Breakfast or lunch in Burlington or anywhere in Vermont? can’t go wrong eating the magical creations by Earl and his team. Do eat here or do not, there is no try.
Community oriented, 3rd generation run breakfast & lunch counter. Always A1.
A charming, family-run diner with vintage U counter. The food is better than most like it and the comically large breakfast sandwiches are fun.
One of the best restaurants in Burlington for breakfast and lunch hands down. Great food and portions and reasonable prices! Don’t miss Handy’s and their excellent service.
Great corned beef hash! Awesome place!
Truly a great experience.
It had that classic small town vibe, and the staff was fun and friendly.
We stopped in for a late lunch around 1:30, and got the last two seats. The place really quieted down after 2.
Amazing place, amazing staff! I'll never get tired of this place. It just feels like home. The owner is awesome, friendly, & caring. He will make you fall in love with Handys Lunch! Enjoy'
Strange funky definitely greasy oiky unheathly food. But traditional American corner dinner food. Friendly!!! Quick!!! Interested in the customer!!! I'm not a buy local unless the owner really shows care concern for community. Habdys does!!!
A must stop for tourists and a staple for locals, Handy's Lunch (and breakfast) is great for counter diner communal service, where the food is great, there's lots of variety, and the people are always friendly. Earl and his family have been operating over 50 years, go check em out!
Delicious food and very friendly staff. I've only been there once, but I'd absolutely go back. Unfortunately I am not in the area often, otherwise I'd probably be there regularly.
The sort of place where locals go for a great, no-frill, from the grill bite. Just sit at the counter, order what your gut tells ya, eat, and walk away happy.
My favourite place to eat. Not only is the food great, but the place itself is cozy and welcoming. Earl is a great person and is very loving and enthusiastic. Would recommend for any occasion.
This place is an iconic staple in Burlington. Very much a locals spot. The price points are super low and you never leave feeling hungry.
Breakfast was awesome! Chuck Norris jokes ensued.
Loved our experience here. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Everyone is super friendly and service is fast. We came in with our severly autisic son and no one blinked an eye when he started acting up. We are new to the area and they gave us an extreamly warm welcome. We will be repeat customers!
Very homey with that family feeling that's makes you feel welcomed. Food was great and staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back when I visit Vermont again.
Had the super G breakfast sandwich it was top notch! Super friendly and damn fine cup of coffee
Friendly, fast, delicious and so cute! Black Belt breakfast sandwich is amazing!!
Great coffee and amazing food. Just what you'd expect from a classic diner. Service showed great heart and love of the customers here. Must try if you visit Burlington.
Great classic bar for comfort breakfast or lunch. Love these type of spots. More people should be at this place instead of the more upscale breakfast spots in town, those people be doing it wrong.
Amazing food and friendly atmosphere in Burlington, VT. Glad we chose this place for breakfast; we both loved it! Will visit again.

Very friendly, even my cranky son liked it. Good food. One of those places where it's like a tv show, where everyone is nice and the owners joke with the regulars.
I was a bit hesitant to eat here because of the aesthetics, but the breakfast sandwich we ordered was OUTSTANDING. I will definitely be going back ! I can't imagine hitting up a different breakfast spot.
