My son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County, VT. We always order the same thing. I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks. Price: $19.50 or $.27/oz is on the lower side of the average price we find in Chittenden County. Portion: 4.7 lbs between the two meals is on the higher side of the average range. Pros: - High traffic convenient location just off Shelburne Rd. - Tasty sesame chicken Cons: - They don't offer beef or chicken teriyaki sticks as a side - They wouldn't allow us to swap an egg-roll appetizer for chicken teriyaki sticks. - Smaller than average egg rolls - They're still using older style microwavable takeout containers which many Chinese takeouts have transitioned away from. - They didn't provide napkins, utensils, soy sauce packets, duck sauce packets, or fortune cookies. - The windows haven't been washed in years - Overall restaurant appearance seems unclean and a bit run down Impression: Convenient location off Shelburne Rd in Burlington offering average portion size at a fair price lacking flavor with aging/poor curb appeal, earning China Express a 3.0 star review.

Very good. The general Tao chicken had tons of sauce and all the chicken was crisp but most in the middle. Fried rice is good and not too oily. The best Chinese food I’ve had in Burlington.

Compared to all the other Chinese food places, this is the best one that isn't expensive. It's very affordable and tastes great. China express is the perfect place for good and quick Chinese food. Did you know they're on Shelburne Road? 10/10. Good prices, food, and service. We always order take out. Pan fried dumplings and hot and sour soup are really good.

It's not really a place to dine in. I'm sure they'd let you eat there though. Thier prices are definitely decent compared to other places. They were extremely accommodating when I asked for extra veggies for my chicken lo mein . Spring roll was super fresh. I haven't tried thier crab Rangoons yet but so far everything I've ordered I've really liked and according to my fiancée that says a lot because I'm beyond picky when it comes to food. (And everything 😁) 🤗

Pleasant surprise while here for work. I was craving some good Chinese food and since moving to TX from the northeast, you just simply can’t find it. I was hoping this would be great and it was. The sesame chicken was nice and crispy, lo mein flavorful, and the wonton soup/egg roll/crab rangoons were great. Good portions and affordable. A little taste of home.

I LOVE the "Make your own tofu dish," it's awesome, I get it every time. Choose your tofu style (steamed or fried), rice type, 2 veg and sauce. Chinese tofu is the best, way better than I can cook it and I get the flavors I want every time for under 10 bucks. Also tried the chicken teriyaki tonight which was delicious, they used nice pieces of chicken. There were only 3 people doing everything on a busy Friday night, its hard work cooking that much food so quickly plus and taking orders and manning the counter, so I appreciate the people who work here. Thank you!

when you first arrive it was relatively unclear where to park. however the food was ready quite promptly. midly short staffed. food - lots of sauce (may be appreciated depending on the customer), portions quite lovely, slightly under seasoned (better than some) crab rang a little understuffed, fortune cookies were midly hidden and unclear where they were located. overall better than the majority of american chinese food that you will encounter in burlington, vermont.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant because the food is so good and the prices are very reasonable. It is a great place for takeout, but if you plan to eat there in the winter, be prepared to freeze. It seems like they don't turn the heat on. The wooden benches are freezing. It's great for takeout and also for going when it's not winter.

Simply put, this is real Chinese food. I wasn't expecting to find real good Chinese food in Burlington, Vermont. The decor and infastructure is a bit lacking, but the food was good, and they give generous potions for the price. They also have great service (take out and eat in) I'd definitely come back, but maybe I'd ask for a bit less sugar/sweetness. Overall 8/10.

Uhhh....it's ok..for takeout Chinese Food.. Pricey..I mean 3 appetizers and 1 bowl of Hot-n-Sour soup (which was really bad... really bad..2 sips throw it out bad 😝) cost $29...I know right?! They were fast and apps are typical for Chinese takeout..I will go back again because it is convenient and Chinese takeout I don't expect blow your mind..

This is one of the restaurants I refer to as a hidden gem as well as a diamond in the rough. The restaurant itself is located in a big parking lot next to a school office and a gas station and as such has a wide spread of cement around it making it look isolated, and while it may not look like much as well, the staff inside are super friendly, the prices are fair, the portions received are large and hearty and also taste fantastic to boot! I highly recommend this place, I've been a regular customer here for over 10 years and they never disappoint.

Great lunch value. For lunch, you're out the door with a ton of food for around six bucks. Yeah it's Americanized Chinese but it's delicious, fast and ready in a few minutes. I've been coming here for years, and will keep coming back for more.

Great food and service, we visit on Thanks Giving Day 2019 and was the only restaurant open that we could find. Great that they were open. Hotel was going to charge $24.00 a head for a buffet that was sadder than anything I ever saw and we walked away. China Express to the rescue and the food was fantastic.

Best Chinese takeout fare in the area. It isn't much to look at on the outsides, and it's definitely dated on the inside (Don't look up at the spray painted ceiling tiles) But the basic takeout menu is comparable to your big city Chinese Fast Food tastes. We order the Chicken Wings with Pork Fried Rice and their Spare rib tips. I would drive here from South Burlington to pick up and go back up to enjoy it in my own house. There's a couple of Chinese take out places that I pass by to get here (and they deliver) but they are just not as good. Cheers!

Honestly one of the best Chinese food restaurants on the lower price scale. This place is better than the university mall Chinese food place, by far. Foods always hot! Foods always fresh Large portions for the $$ Extremley nice staff! I've never meet such wonderful kind people at a Chinese restaurant in Vermont as I did at China Express on shelburne rd. I never do reviews but I couldn't not review this place as I've lived in Vermont 28 years and never eaten here until 1 month ago. Its deffinitley a hidden gem most wouldn't think of trying. TRY IT I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED!!

there is a bad post about this place. Not sure what they were expecting. It is what it is... Somewhat decent American Chinese food. Its good its quick and if you dont want to cook this fits the bill. If the negative poster here was wanting the single pebble well thats why you spend 200 on chinese there. If yo just moved here from Bejing well yea the chinese is better there. However if you want regular chinese food from an american takeout this place is fine i give it instead of a score out of 0-3 i will give you a 1-100 food- 75 decor-0(its a take out joint) service 100- I have not ordered in a month and they remembered me and how i like my food. cost (dirt cheap for what it is compared to NYC, Philly, DC etc....)

Great Food, excellent service and accuracy, also communications was very good, sometimes this can be an isssue with the language barrier (on both sides) but they have always been accurate with my orders. I've used this place about 20 times for take out in recent years and turned several people on to them, I almost never eat there but the place seems nice and adaquate for dining in.
