Great selection of local brews, good wings (although they were a little burnt) , and a tasty turkey sandwich. Service was slow despite there being few people in the restaurant, but still a fun lowkey spot to catch a football game. Certainly would come back. Friday afternoon and place was getting busy. I noticed quite a few pizza takeouts. Lauren, our server was very friendly. Basically appetizers, salads, pizzas and hamburgers. Food was very good, especially the sweet potato fries - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wood fired salad was interesting. Wood fired veggies served on a bed of greens. Mai Tai drink was good but a little overpriced. For dessert they only had fried dough as they ran out of ice cream and cherries. Will be going back!

The calzone was HUGE & well worth the price, plus it was absolutely delicious (hand is in the picture for reference size). Don't even get me started on the S'more pizza! I swear, I've never had such a good desert in my life. 5 stars across the board.

Pizza is always good and thier food is all local. Loveee it! I love coming here with my family and the location in Essex is sooo adorable! If you have only been to the williston road location you should definitely take a chance on the Essex location ! The new ovens they have there are so beautiful and so neat to watch. 5 stars for sure !!! Updated review This place definitely still gets 5 stars from me.

Quick and friendly service with a great selection! The menu has a good variety of the pizzas you would expect along with some unique combinations. The price was very affordable for what you're getting and is the perfect Saturday errands lunch stop.

Late dinner as a lot of places close at 8 or 9 and they are open until 10. I love wood fired pizza. Ordered a meatball, pepperoni and mushrooms with the red sauce, cheddar and mozzarella cheese. All the items were very tasty. The crust is towards the thinner side and also has a very good taste. It could have been a little more crispy for my taste but it was definitely good and enjoyed. The service was friendly and efficient. Recommended 👍.

Being 3 mins from the airport is what brought us here and the pizza (The Goat) was delicious! Nice beer choices & our server Zach was attentive, polite & funny! A great spot to wind down after traveling all morning.

Fantastic, thin crust style pizza done in a huge wood fired oven. We got the large pizza with half cheese and half with mushrooms and sausage. The mushrooms very fresh and tasted great as did the sausage. Their sauce is very good with just the right amount of spicing! We were well taken care of by Lauren "by the way". She made sure we had everything we needed and checked back with many times! We liked the atmosphere and the interior was homey. We finished off the left over pizza 2 days later and it confirmed me and my wife's initial opinion of how good it was. We are going to stop back on the way to the airport in a couple days.

Ordered online and picked up at the restaurant. Pizza was ready a few minutes earlier than the expected time. Crust - very good Sauce - very good (not enough on pizza) Pepperoni - very good Onions - caramelised - very good Sausage - good (but not too much flavour) Green peppers - pieces are too big Cheese - barely any Lack of sauce, cheese, size of green peppers, and flavour of sausage cost the establishment 1 star. I would definitely come back again but I'd adjust my order accordingly.

This was one of the few places open and still serving people around 7:30. As someone passing by the city, it seems like most places close at 8. Also, most places were booked for the long weekend. The hot hen pizza was decent, it wasn’t spicy and it was definitely oily. Fries needed salt and were too soggy for my liking. The onion rings and mozzarella strikes were fine. The fact that they do half orders on appetizers is amazing and I wish more places could do that.

Love the wings, sprouts, and fries. My diet doesn't allow much cheese, but those calzones are calling me! The GOAT is totally worth it and you don't come out in a coma. It is also walking distance to the airport and a nice change. Plenty of room and parking. I love some of the flatbread places downtown, but the wait is far too long. This place is a nice replacement.

Great flat bread-wood fired brick oven style pizzas. Good variety of local craft beer. Also have a variety of appetizers and great options for Salads. The wood fired wings are great -- I always get a side of buffalo sauce vs the very sweet maple aioli. The brussel sprouts are also very good as are tossed in garlic sauce and then roasted in wood fire oven.

Best poutine (gravy and cheese curds on French fries) that I've ever had. My family ordered a second with the turkey gravy. Very fooling! The pizza is fantastic, the pepperoni is to die for, it's got so much flavor. Friendly waitstaff and quick service.

AWESOME!!! Friendly servers dressed in flannel. Very upbeat and sincere vibe. Smiling faces abound. Decor is a mix of farm, timber, and ski lodge blending traditional and industrial. Very clean with only a pleasant hint of smokiness. A Bar is present with an extensive list of craft and local beers on tap to compliment your meal, but the oven is the star of the show. The general manager took a few minutes to talk with me about the construction, care, and feeding of the oven. It is an amazing sight to see and it lives up to the hype that any foodie will look for in wood fired oven foods. We were just looking for a quick bite on our way through. Thank you Barnyard Woodcrafted Pizza for a wonderful surprise. We didn't come looking for you, but we are so glad we crossed paths. 40 minutes between walking in and walkibg out.

Clean friendly place. We had used the online option to order our pizza we received a text saying it was complete. When we got there they said it would be a few more minutes. They had a problem with their online system where the order was received but never made it to the kitchen so it was never made. Whoops They rushed our order in and while we waited the owner worked with us to try to figure out how that happened. She even refunded us our money and thanked us for our patience. The pizza was the buffalo chicken and it was very good 👍

Excellent pizza with high quality cheese. The small pizza is slightly larger than most places at 12" instead of 10". The sauce is lightly applied, but very flavorful. It tastes of fresh herbs, and is probably the best pizza sauce in the area. The salad is fresh and simple, but every satisfying with the balsamic vinaigrette. Excellent, friendly service with surprisingly quick turn around times. Highly recommended.

My daughter, Lindsay and I had the most delicious pizza at the Essex location. There was only one waitress working tonight, and she was outstanding. Just a shoutout to her and the rest of the staff for the great service and yummy pizza!

The chicken pesto sandwich was amazing. The bread definitely completed the whole thing. It was soft and had a good portion of butter on the inside. The turkey gravy poutine was also amazing and paired well with the sandwich. I am definitely excited to try out the rest of their menu. The pizzas are okay and I feel like the dough is missing flavor. When you bite into the pizza you get a mouthful of great toppings but the dough just leaves you feeling eh. I would come here for the sandwiches and burgers and that’s about it for me.

Delicious pizza with canned craft beers and cocktails made to order. There is a little bit of a wait with online or to go orders as well as dine in orders. The pizza is delicious though so well worth the wait. Like many different restaurants during covid era are being overrun by online orders so if you choose to dine here. Do it with a smile and thankfulness for getting amazing pizza if not then have fun learning how to make pizza via youtube in your new pizza oven. Bon appetit!

Pizza was mediocre. It felt that the amount of topping for the large pizza would be perfect for the small pizza. I would have also have liked to have had more sauce (personal preference). The flavors were pretty good. The service was really good. The pizza was made in 20 min (a few min earlier than said). I would try this place again when we come back to Burlington.

We have been here three times. Service has been really good other than this last time. The waitress that was serving us did not speak up long enough to hear what she was saying. She never came back all that much. Food was still great. We ate in the dark the last visit because power went out. So we used cell phones for lighting.

Service: EXCELLENT. Food: Very good. We had just exited the airport on a Saturday evening and were hungry, and decided to give these guys a try. Our server was superb-- one of the best. She made us iced tea, got our order in a jiffy, then followed up again and again. The food was very good-- but we've had better pizza. My wife reported that the dough was somewhat "bland", but she has better taste buds that I. I did notice that she at the leftovers a few days later! Ideally I'd give these guys 4.5 stars, and would definitely go back.

Service was fine and place was ok, but there was one main thing that was not right - the actual pizza. We ordered a few things including pizza, and that was a disappointment. The dough was not right and the ingredient on top - the baking was the only good thing about it. Oh their ginger beer (the non alcoholic) was actually pretty good - I was impressed

Good pizza, friendly staff, nice cold beer. We designed our own pizza which was delicious. We liked it so much we went back a week later. This time we ordered one of the pizza combos they offer. We were thinking they could have had more sausage on this one. Next time, I'll ask for extra sausage. All-in-all we enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor.

Food was amazing, I wish I could write a new review but I can't figure out how. 6 months ago this place was great but today it was so bad, sat at the bar for at least 30 minutes waiting for a drink then finally place a drink order and can't get because the tap system is messed. Had an excellent meal here, great atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. Good selection of drink options (great pick from local breweries, distilleries and wineries). Food was prompt, well done and very good. Homemade breads and pizza crusts are fantastic. Pretty much anything that is made here is done in the brick oven at some point (Turkey for sandwiches is whole roasted Turkey not deli meat). Definitely recommend for an easy well made meal.

Online reservation did not work. Had the worst seats in back with boxes. Cold wore my coat whole time. Nice waitress. Good food. My husband's first time he is not sure he wants to go back. I will because I have gone after work at hospital. And after long day I enjoyed it. He said 85 dollars we could have gone to Montpillier. To nice restaurant. Sarducci s. They have fire burnt fireplace like here. So wishing he would have liked it. Did like food so guess take out. Is our choice.

Barnyard has become somewhat of a regular spot for us. They seem to hire and train staff to be very friendly, though a few occasions I've had a forgetful person attending to our table. I'd much rather take the friendly and a bit forgetful than the rude and remembering everything staff. Their pizza is pretty darn tasty, we've had the basic pies all the way through the maple glazed crusts on some specialty pies. All great, especially in the wood fired oven. Occasionally we get a really thin crust, that isn't very filling, but more often it's just right - thin enough to be easily folded but feels like the pizza is a good meal! I'm a big fan of their poutine, the turkey being my choice and the better of the two. The pork is good, just not as good as the turkey! Then the beer! Great selection of craft beer, which is the best thing to wash down a pizza. Last time they had two choices on nitro, which is always a good way to experience a dark beer. They've never been rude if the beer is flat or off (though that has been a rarity).

Amazing food and service! We went in on a busy Saturday night and were seated right away. Our server Chris was awesome- he was super friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and extensive draft beer selection. He was helpful with deciding what to order. We ended up getting poutine as an appetizer and a pizza for dinner, half chicken bacon ranch and half sunrise (sausage, artichoke, & sundried tomatoes). Everything was delicious. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

It's a conundrum. First they serve what were the absolute best chicken tenders anyone at the table has ever had. Best ever seriously, worth visiting just for these. Then my crispy chicken sandwich comes as burned shriveled crisp not even filling the sandwich. They replace it, but this ones half raw. They didn't charge me but due to food allergy restrictions I had no dinner. I'm told the pizza was very good though.

Food is consistently good quality and flavor, with the pizza being the food they have out of their whole menu. I have been here numerous times and pizza has been great but as for everything else I am not sure. The service varies, they do better service when it's busy but when it's slow it takes them like an hour to get your food out. In the winter time the restaurant is freezing, so dress in layers, truly layers. Also know the food is quite expensive for what it is, there is nothing special about there food but they charge like there is something special. A dish of just spaghetti cost almost $11, just spaghetti no side or drink. You might as well go to the Windjammer and get a must higher quality meal and be warm while you enjoy it.

Pizza was good not great, fries were very good. However, it is way overpriced for what you get. A regular pizza is $15 and a large is $22. Just not unique enough or tasty enough to warrant the price.

Yesterday I actually went and had a sit down meal in a local restaurant. I had heard wonderful things about this place. I had a not so great experience, but was contacted my one of the managers Lauren who apologized. Was happy to get the feed back. And offered a gift card. Just left the Barnyard Grill, Williston Rd, So Burlington, Vt. Its our 3rd time there, since the Covid lifted, ( restrictions). Our pizza was delicious, onion rings very good, my disappointment was the ladies room, it was not clean, toilet tissue on the floor, the dispencer that held the toilet tissue was broken, fell into my hand when I tried to remove some tissue. We ordered through DoorDash, who we don’t love supporting but our options were limited last night, and they delivered the wrong order. After calling Barnyard, the so graciously sent out one of their staff members to deliver the correct order. They didn’t have to do that and the fact that they offered to do so was amazing customer service. Thank you!

Reasonably good food, seriously overpriced. Ordered via DoorDash and paid $22 for a 12" pizza (which had VT Smoke & Cure pepperoni, always awesome) and a $2.89 Coke. Stop for a moment and imagine what Coke you would expect for $2.89. Granted, its delivery and from a restaurant. So possibly not a 2 liter. But are you picturing an 8oz fountain soda in a styrofoam cup? No, neither was I. The pizza was good - a little burned around the edge of the crust. For $15 I'd probably order it once a week, for $22 I don't think I'll order it again. I haven't been in the actual restaurant, so I'm hoping these prices are intended for a delivery audience. And if delivery were free, then perhaps they might only be 50% unreasonable. But with paid delivery, plus tip, to spend $40 on a tiny pizza and tinier soda is an experience I'll only commit to once.

We went on a Saturday night at 630PM. there were five adults and a two year old. There was no wait, we were immediately seated at a booth with high backs which made you feel as if you were in your own private room. They have a great drink size which is essentially a mini size of anything they have on tap for $2.50. It was perfect because I always want to order a drink but never finish it and then I've wasted $8. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, a pear-adise pizza, the whole barn pizza, and the nightly special (which was a very well done pulled pork, maple and onion. The crust was not thin, nor thick but the pizza was built more like a thin crust pizza. All four choices were delicious. The service was prompt and the wait staff were friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a casual dinner with friends and even a small child.

Great experience! The waitress was great. She was very upbeat and interacted with the kiddos. The food is excellent, the only criticism i could give is the meat calzone i had. It tasted great but the filling was cut too small and there wasn't enough or really any mozarella. When you opened the calzone, the filling fell out. There wasnt enough binding agent between the crust and the filling so you end up eating the filling and crust seperately. The taste was still there though. All around good experience.

My friend and I got the chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, caesar salad, and the steak and cheese sandwich and it was all SOOOO GOOD! I would highly recommend. If you like chicken tenders this is the place to go. Wish we lived closer I would go back immediately!

We created our own pizza with 6 veggies & garlic sauce. The wooden fire pizza was different than the regular oven baked pizza. Definitely like to come back!!! Because our first experience was good, we went back to Barnyard twice. But we did not get the same or similar taste of the pizza we had for the first time !! Not sure what has changed, but disappointed about the pizza we got on our second and third visit. Might not go again :(

The food was very good. I would recommend the pizzas first, the cheese sticks were good, calamari was a little tough but had great breading and sauce. Service was good, though she forgot about refilling drinks and the restaurant was slow for a Sunday.

It was very good pizza. Not sure worth it to go out there as it isn't near anything really, evidenced by the multiple failed businesses in that spot. Service was excellent though, definitely will keep as an option when hosting out of town guests (it is near the airport).

Food is pretty good. Can be slow to get food on a busy night. Back right seating area near the bathrooms is always really cold and drafty. Bathrooms really need to be cleaned and updated just a little, nothing fancy but something that isn't run down and original to the building. Bathrooms are always cold from that drafty hallway and the door doesn't shut for privacy.

It's nice in there. Not super barn like... I'm not sure what I was expecting, maybe straw on the floor? An animal smell? But no, nice and clean. Plaid shirts. Good service. Over done burger. Mushroom sandwich is cold, no melty cheese. But friendly. Crispy fries. Parking out front. Right on the road easy to find.

One of our favorite local spots for lunch or dinner. We have always enjoyed their menu, whether pizza, sandwiches, calzones or entrees. We love the wood fired wings and pizzas as well as their large portion mozz sticks and the calzones are a nice size to enjoy along with burgers and other sandwiches. Staff is always great and many drink options, good place for large party, outdoor seating and bar seats for sports viewing. Dine in, take out, or delivery to a certain radius.
