My husband and I had dinner here around 4 pm on a Friday, and fortunately there was no wait for a table and we got seated immediately. We shared the Beer Pretzel as an appetizer, which was awesome. I had the Bison meatloaf as my entree, and I loved it. My husband had a bison burger and loved it too. Our waiter was very friendly, too. Highly recommend this restaurant. Awesome food and lots of seating! The hostess originally seated us outside near a family with very loud small children, so I just asked if we could be moved to a quieter area and they quickly accommodated us.

The Brisket Mac n Cheese is so good. Literally the best mac I've ever had, and the blackberry BBQ sauce in the brisket is excellent. The Beer Cheese Philly and fries were awesome. Our brownie with homemade vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending to such a great meal. Wonderful staff and a cool atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

My Husband & our 3 yr old really enjoyed this spot. It was cozy and filled with the most amazing energy!! There was no strangers everyone even other customers were nice to each other I simply loved it. The food was really delicious and our server was Awesome and the Manager that was on duty that night was so accommodating. I highly recommend this place and it’s kid friendly you’ll love it 😊!!

Love Pack’s Tavern. This place was packed on a Monday night and they have a ton of seats. They had an amazing menu and I couldn’t decide what I wanted so we shared wings, mac & cheese and nachos. Everything was absolutely delicious. They also have a really great drink and beer list. The service was fantastic too.

Fantastic food, we had the spinach dip, pot roast and the blackened chicken pasta. We were seated quickly and the restaurant is large and lovely. Great atmosphere. Kenny was our server. The couple ahead of us asked for the best server in the house but I think they got jipped because Kenny was clearly better. Not over the top, not a slacker, there when we needed him, attentive, helpful and kind. Great guy. Thanks, Kenny!

I would review Pack's as 10 stars if I could! Pack's came very highly recommended. We were seated quickly. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered the corn dip as an appetizer - yumm! I ordered the Buffalo mac and cheese and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Both were SO GOOD. The brisket on my mac and cheese was the BEST I've ever had.

A staple in the heart of downtown Asheville and a truly enjoyable experience every time I return. The food was easily the best we've had during our visit to town and came out extremely quickly. I highly recommend the brisket Mac & cheese. Drinks were phenomenal and the atmosphere was amazing. We followed our stop at Packs with stroll through downtown still talking about how delicious our food was.

AMAZING FOOD!! The only downside to the pot roast was there wasn't more potatoes. Even though it was so much food I couldn't eat it all I still wanted more. Pretzel was so good I ate half before I got a picture, and the wife loved her fish. Atmosphere is great. Server was awesome. Even sat down to recommend some places to visit while in town. Plenty of tvs if you want to watch a game. Just a great spot.

Brought a pup and sat in the back patio on a gorgeous summer day. Colby was our waiter and was a delight. Ordered the nachos with steak and the Thai salad with unseasoned chicken (for the dog) Both great, the steak bits were good. Doggo seemed happy with his chicken. We burned through two cans of summer bubbles and a bottle of bubbles. Colby kept our water cups full and checked in on us frequently. It was so great to sit out by the fountain and listen to the kids shriek their way through the water while I watched a guy on a unicycle juggle. I can see what the fuss is about, it's a fun vibe, the food is solid, and the people watching is prime. Excited to go back and see what it's like inside.

Can’t wait to come back to Asheville and specifically come back here! Cool atmosphere and really great food. The salad came out in a chilled bowl…always a plus! The cocktails were great and the mushroom pizza had a nice crispy crust.

We enjoyed great service and food on their fabulous patio overlooking the park and mountains. Dogs are welcome on the patio. Ribs were fall off the bone, and my chicken sandwich had a superbly crispy breading. Great flavors and a great selection of hot sauces provided upon request. We got nachos and opted not to get meat besides the chili, but I will add pork if I come back. It needed a little more umph.

Sweet potato tots are a must try. In addition to salads, you get vegetarian options here. You can make your own burger with black bean patty. The beer options are great too. It has a wait time during lunch hours but comparatively a decent wait time.

Popular spot with great service (a very unique server). The Prohibition Pot Roast was great. The Beef Stroganoff was good but very peppery. Really enjoyed the deviled egg starter. Would definitely go back.

Atmosphere was fun and inviting, food was wonderful, draft root beer was delicious, and the service was fantastic. They were busy but this restaurant is managed exceptionally well and the guests couldn't even tell. We will be back!

Came to Asheville for the day to meet our mom and dad and found this place on Google. So glad we did!! The place is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful setting! Our server David was super friendly, very quick and had a great attitude. If we lived closer we would definitely be back soon! We will definitely return whenever we come back to Asheville! They even have a very beautiful patio with a great atmosphere to enjoy. Thank y’all for a wonderful lunch with our parents!

If you wanna eat local this is the spot. Rustic with great ambiance, service was quick and top notch. The Brisket Mac N Cheese was among the best I've had, with my partner trying their bison meatloaf that looked and smelled amazing. The food was amazing! The shrimp appetizer had sweet chili sauce, pineapple salsa, and fried jalapeños. Best dish I've ever had. The pizzas were delicious as well. Service was excellent, as I never wanted for a refill. Would highly recommend!

A little short staffed but this place never ever disappoints. Every time I'm in town I eat here at least twice. Our second round of packs we had to get to go but still just as amazing. Brisket mac-n-cheess and Old Fashioned chocolate cake (SUPER SWEET) Have to try if you've never been!!!

Pack's Tavern has great food! I ate here the first time I visited Asheville and was excited to go back. I highly recommend the Parmesan truffle fries and the blackened chicken pasta. They are both delicious! The drinks are pretty good too. My bf and I had some while waiting for our table. Definitely be prepared for a long wait time if you go on the weekend. This place is pretty popular.

Had the Hot Honey fried chicken sandwich which was tasty. Not too hot and not too sweet. Overall a solid fried chicken sandwich. Wife had the Buffalo Mac n cheese (pictured) which was delicious! Mac n cheese was creamy with a slight tang and the fried chicken strips were tossed a tasty Buffalo sauce. Honestly this dish could be split between two people.

On vacation downtown Asheville and was attracted by all the cool lights around the place. Walked over and checked it out, had a cool car out front. Ventured in to check it out. Greeted at the door and had no wait on a Wednesday evening. Best service i have had in a long time, food was amazing, some of the best wings i have ever had. Just might go once more before i leave the area. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Excellent gastropub with a spacious interior and diverse menu. Places like this make me wish I wasn't just passing through. We enjoyed several items on the menu, and everyone agreed that regardless of our choice--it was some of the best.

Everytime I eat here, the food is spot on. I have tried many things on the menu and always top notch. The staff is always attentive and kind. The draft beer selection is second to none. The atmosphere makes you feel you have gone back in time. This place is absolutely a good place to go.

Delicious food and drinks! We visited twice on our stay in Asheville. The margaritas were tasty and STRONG. They have daily specials which are nice. Burgers were delicious. Staff was all very helpful and courteous.

We are in town visiting at the Biltmore and tried take out here because the Biltmore restaurants were closed. This place is outstanding. We placed a takeout order and the food looked just like it did on the website. I got the brisket Mac n cheese and my husband got the Mitch burger. It was so much food I couldn’t finish so he did for me. The brisket was super tender and delicious! The burger was very moist and juicy. Definitely would eat here again.

What a great find!! We have a small dog, and they offer the BEST patio seating. It’s covered, heated, and extremely comfortable! Onto the chicken wings…As a connoisseur of wings, I find these to be the BEST wings I’ve ever had, and trust me, at 58, I’ve had a lot of wings! They are huge! I highly recommend trying them. Looking forward to many more trips to Pack’s Tavern!

Found this gem by complete accident. Great place to watch football games. Our food was excellent. Most impressive part or our experience, the manager’s attention. First manager came to our table to check on my wife’s food allergy sensitivity. Two other managers stopped by our table to check on our satisfaction. I would definitely return.

So good! We lucked out and got seats immediate at the bar. Wonderful and friendly staff. Very attentive. We had a hard time on decided what to order, menu had so many tasty choices and people around were getting their food and looked so good! Food was served quickly. It was hot and so delicious. I got the mac and cheese as a side dish. Yum! We really wanted to try key lime pie but we're so full just couldn't do it. Highly recommend this spectacular place.

Visited Pack's Tavern for lunch with the girls. The outdoor area made for a beautiful lunch view. The food was fantastic, the Caesar salad was phenomenal. Everything was delicious. Lobster Mac n cheese was out of bounds 👊 great flavor. Orange crush was yummy, like an orange popsicle. The Ruben and Brussels Sprouts wiyh caramelized onions didn't disappoint. Our server Zoe was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

We had a great meal at Pack's Tavern. They don't take reservations but we hung out in the park while we waited, it was a lovely night and not too long of a wait. We started with the deviled eggs and a house salad with the pumpkin maple dressing...yum! For our meal we had Brisket Mac and Cheese and Bison Meatloaf with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Delicious, all of it start to finish! Our waiter was helpful and attentive. He took great care of us. The manager stopped over to see how things were and if we needed anything. Highly recommend Pack's Tavern!

In Asheville for a long weekend, came for Christmas Jam. Drove 10 hrs from Pennsylvania. Pack's was the first stop. We were starved and ready for drinks. Staff was super friendly. Food was A+++. Great choice for our first night here. We had the Elote Corn Dip (deliciousness 💯) and the rueben with sweet potato tots( another good choice). Brought the better than your mamas choc cake back with us. The atmosphere is quite nice. Love the outdoor seating !

I love the history and stories about Pack’s! It is an Asheville tradition and it is as good today as it has ever been! Offering plenty of space for larger parties. They also appear to have several event spaces. The food was terrific! You need to try the peanut butter pie.

Food and beer are great - staff is AWESOME. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Hostess worked hard to find us a spot to watch our hoops game while an NFL game was on. We’ll visit every time we come to Asheville. FOLLOW UP: returned a month later, same great food and service (thank you Britney), but unfortunate interaction with one of their waiters made the night less than enjoyable. While waiting for our table at the lower bar I mentioned to my companions that the main bar had not offered me the option to run a tab when I got our first round of beers. A waiter overheard me (thanks for eavesdropping) and took it upon himself to tell us they were “very busy” and “it’s hard to take tabs when there’s 20 people screaming at you”. In all my trips to Pack’s Tavern over the years I have A) never heard anyone screaming at the bar and B) not had any of the usual reliable and friendly staff mouth off like that. Love this place but hoping to skip the attitude if we come back.

Incredible wood-fired eatery. The pizzas and calzones are fresh and light. I was upset to see the Shepherd’s Pie go, but the brisket mac could replace it! Lots of great beers and a 5⭐️ bar to boot!

Pack’s Tavern is located conveniently in downtown Asheville, and they have a lovely, heated dog friendly patio! The staff is super professional and friendly, and the cocktails are very good… They have the MOST AMAZING COMFORT FOOD!!! I had Wasabi Ginger, Deviled Eggs, and BRISKET MAC AND CHEESE!!!! For a moment there, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven, but it was just time for me to go back to my hotel, and take a nap, after that delicious meal, lol

We visited this place on vacation from out of town and loved it! Really nice cozy atmosphere that reminds you of a hometown bar. Very good selection of fun beers too. I highly recommend ordering any of their signature food items. Every bite was delicious. If you like ranch with your food, theirs is amazing. Very nice mix of herbs and garlic. Definitely a fun place to visit anytime for food or drinks. We'll go back for sure!

Staying in the area, hotel recommended Twisted Laurel. They were closed and we happened to pass Parks Tavern. Loved loved the pizza. Definitely would recommend. Staff was super friendly as well!

We arrived on a weekday about 11:30. We each ordered a calzone with pepperoni and sausage. The flavor was good and there was enough "filling." We liked the sauce that was served on the side. We would have preferred less pizza crust on the outside edge. The cost per calzone was $18 plus beverage.

Passing through off the BRP and saw Pack’s Tavern on maps. It did not disappoint. Quick service and delicious food. Cheese bread appetizer, pickle brine fried chicken sandwich and the Philly sandwich. All perfect!

This was such a great place to go. Took my special one out for the birthday dinner here and boy we weren’t disappointed at all. Our server was so nice.As it was her birthday they offered her to choose from anything from the dessert section complimentary for her birthday. She chose caramel cheesecake and man it was the best caramel cheesecake we both had. I chose chicken swiss mushroom burger for main course and she had chicken burger with cheese(dont remember the exact one). 5/5 recommended go to place especially for late hour dining P.S. I already had the candles with me in the car

Had the Mt. Mackinlay burger and the Fish-N-Chips. The burger was 13/10 and with the side of brussels sprouts it was the "I chose wisely" dish. The Fish-N-Chips was 10/10 and very good.. to get better you many need to head over to Dublin for a few days. Being Ashville, the beer selection was top grade of course! Give this place a try

Reuben was amazing, juicy, tender, perfect amount of fat with delicious sauerkraut. French fries perfectly crispy(a little greasy but still delicious), sweet tater tots were just okay a little soggy and needed salt or maybe a maple syrup dipping sauce or glaze. The main part of the meal was insanely good. We ate there months ago too and had amazing pizza and soup but never left a review. While difficult to park it is definitely a solid place to get food!

Went here with a large group after a conference! We had the whole upstairs & there were unfortunately not enough seats! I also looked at this place's menu ahead of time and all looked really delicious, but when it came to the small bites that were avail, I wasn't super impressed. The food at the actual restaurant looked really good though!

We had the Thanksgiving buffet. Everything was perfect! We did not make a reservation, only had to wait 1 hour. When they took us upstairs, it was a spacious banquet room. It was quiet, had great lighting, almost like a country style wedding reception. I am not a huge Thanksgiving food fan, but I would be if I had their food every year! Perfect! I've done other Thanksgiving buffets, and they've been okay, but nothing close to Pack's! Went with a family of 5. 1 teen, 4 adults, and everyone was equally impressed. Great find! Looking forward to the next time!

Our server Christen was so sweet. The manager was very attentive and helping his servers which stood out to my boyfriend and I. We had our dog and didn’t have to freeze on the outside patio - they had a covered portion for guests/ dog owners. The food itself was good. Boyfriend had the bison meatloaf and I had the hot honey chicken sandwich. I’d probably end up getting something different next time personally but boyfriend cleaned his plate! 👍🏼

I have never had a bad meal at Pack's, even though I have only ever gotten the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese. My husband often gets different things and has not had a single complaint about anything. He really likes the burgers most! Their drinks are also delicious. Their Friday drink special is Pack's Orange Crush and tastes incredibly like the ice cream. Pack's is always super busy so make sure to get there with plenty of time to wait for a seat, but it is worth it! You can walk around Pack Square while waiting, and there are often events in the square as well. Definitely a must see if you're visiting the area.

This is a great little try in Asheville. Lots of variety on the menu and decent prices made this a win for a large group. We waited for 45 mins for a table on a Friday night which was not too bad. Note-there is no place to wait inside, so you’re forced to find a place to sit in the park next door. Nice wait staff and typical “tavern” atmosphere. Would I go back? Most likely.

Food is decent but overpriced. They do the wierd “single file line at the bar” thing which just needs to stop especially when your one person making drinks is so slow. Might try it again.

Heard about this place last year on a downtown tour. We’re able to get there this year. Waited 30 minutes to get seated. No biggie. Waiter was had kind of a dry quiet personality that put us off a bit. He came around a little after a bit. I think it had to do with the flirty table of ladies beside us that got him going. 😂. Ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious!!! Wife had beef stroganoff and was happy with her meal as well. Great atmosphere and will be going back on our next trip.

The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is great! We had a wonderful evening and our waitress Paige, was amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed and she even went out of her way to recommend some pretty hikes for us while we were in the area. She was awesome! Thankful for such a great experience.

Went there with a group of 4. It was pretty busy so there was a little bit of a wait (30 min. was the estimate). They have a decent sized standing bar for guests while they wait so we grabbed some drinks. Our table was ready quicker than we expected. After a long, hard day of driving to help our daughter move from Ohio to Savannah, we stopped to spend the night in Asheville (half-way point). The hotel recommended Pack's because it was within walking distance. What a great option. Extensive menu with something for everyone - lots of gluten free options as well. The service was great. The atmosphere and the view were great. The beer list was all local breweries and offered several different flights so you could sample the local offerings. Great outdoor seating area that allowed us to relax and unwind from the drive. Would definitely go back next time in Asheville!

We were traveling through and decided to find a local place to eat. It was worth the stop for sure. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant is very large. I ordered the Bison Meatloaf, which was excellent, and the firehouse chili which was perfect for a cold day. The parking street wise is limited, but there is a nice parking deck about 2 blocks away. We will definitely be back if we are ever in Ashville again.

The food is amazing. I got the bison meatloaf and my girlfriend got the brisket mac. Both were amazing. Honestly some of the best meals I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Our server David was also out of this world. The dude made sure every table was taken care of and made to feel welcome. And he had a full section as well as a larger party. The management staff was on point as well taking care of both the customers and the staffs needs. I will most definitely be back, this has become my new go to spot when I'm in Ashville.

We had 2 people in our party that had disabilities and upon seating us we asked if there were any stairs. We were told only 3 small ones. No, there was a staircase that led to the lower dining room that was difficult. Waited approx 25 min for a server to ask for our drink order once seated. We had to continue to look and seek out servers for refills. Our server never remembered what we were drinking. We ordered the drink special (Silver cadillac margaritas) and they were absolutely terrible. Just felt overlooked as a customer and the service made our experience a bummer. The food was AMAZING! Stopped in for a quick bite for lunch. Service was great, there were tvs all over to watch a game, craft brew selection which is nice to see on top of some good food makes it a good place to stop. Parking on the street is a pain but there is a parking garage that will gladly take your money close by. Had the wood fired turkey club which was dry in some parts but decent overall. The shrimp tacos are tasty with the seasoning and pineapple chuncks.

Had an amazing time at Pack’s Tavern in downtown Asheville. Easily the best mixed drinks we had on our weekend trip. We had the mason jar margaritas and the blue Hawaiian shots. Our server David was so nice and recommended the best food to go with our drinks too. Best fries ever!! We also had the mac n cheese and the firecracker shrimp. We were basically snowed in the whole day so it was nice to come in and be treated so kindly by the staff. We got there a bit late and had to stay a little past closing but they didn’t mind at all and told us not to rush. Money well spent indeed!

Really wanted to like this place. Love Mac and cheese and also love brisket. So seems like Mac and cheese with brisket would be great. It was not. Brisket was very dry and sauce was very sweet. The sauce got all over the Mac and cheese and ruined that. It was also pretty expensive.

Fantastic dining spot! The drinks are well made and perfectly strong while also maintaining great flavor. The sides were excellent. What a great place to dine, especially as an ‘out of towner’! My wife has Celiac so it’s usually hard to find a place where she can eat a great meal confidently while I can also eat an amazing meal as well. The food was fantastic and the service also top shelf. Wife had the salmon and I crushed a wood fired cubano which I thought was dam good. I want to personally give a shout out to Tyler who is one of their managers. Our awesome server informed him of my wife’s needs and he immediately came over and talked her through their process and then went and coordinated everything with the kitchen ensuring they had cleaned a prep area and took extra precautions throughout the entire process. We’ve never had this type of service ever, anywhere! Awesome food paired with a staff that obviously cares and loves what they do. Bravo Pack’s Tavern!

Packs is our absolute favorite place to stop when we are driving through Asheville so I was super excited that yesterday we were in the area just after 1pm so we could stop for lunch! Our server Emily was a complete ray of light! My daughter wanted to see if mushrooms could be left out of her meal and Emily quickly set out to find out. Pack's Tavern is a must-do when you visit Asheville. The atmosphere is a true American bar experience. The restaurant itself is large and roomy with great décor. My wife had the Fish Tacos with the Aztec spiced mahi-mahi, jicama slaw, and cheddar jack cheese on flour tortillas with lime. She really enjoyed the tacos and stated she would order them again. I had the Pack's Pride hamburger which is made with a specialty blend of Angus beef with American cheese. The burger comes with lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle. I also had a side of french fries. The burger was great and so were the fries. The service was great and the food was delicious. As always, we will be visiting Pack's Tavern again.

The food is good, but there is no convenient parking. On Thanksgiving 2022, customers were required to wait outside, in the weather, until the restaurant opened. It's not handicap friendly for elderly customers that must use walkers or wheelchairs to move around. We will not consider returning.

A great space that's mostly a sports bar but has areas where TVs are not so obtrusively planted to be in your eyesight. The food is well-done comfort food! Meatloaf is made with bison, which gives it a gamey texture tho it is cut with a fork tender! The sprouts are sliced, tender, and mixed with caramelized onions and, I think, bacon. (FYI: My wife's grouper was dry and overcooked to her liking.) Dog friendly! It's a good joint to hang with friends or have a cold one - tho wine bottles are half price on Monday! Got the Biltmore Cabernet Sauvignon for $16! Not a fancy date place, but a nice go-out place for you and your significant other. Would go to again!

Nice atmosphere in this restaurant/bar. Had a cocktail before being seated; Moscow mule was very nice, not too strong or overpowering. We started off with a spinach artichoke dip that was delicious. Fish tacos and Hawaiian pizza were good but pizza was made with a cheddar cheese base instead of traditional mozzarella making it less enjoyable for hubby. Our waiter was great as he was easily available and he kept our drinks full. The bathrooms are clean (one family single and another male/female single) but it is a bit unnerving to open the door to men waiting to get into the potty! Overall a pleasant-enough experience.

We went on a Saturday night around 7 so there was about a 10-minute wait, which was no problem. It was busy but we were able to grab a drink at the bar easily and sit on the provided cushioned benches. Wish I would've gotten our servers name cause she was great. Greeted our table quickly and got waters and app rolling (we still had our bar drinks.) We ordered the steak nachos and they were amazing! The menu has a ton of choices, so there is something for everyone. Options went from bison meatloaf to fish tacos to pizza, so seriously, something for everyone. I ordered the philly cheese steak (I think it was a Veggie Something add roast beef) but basically a philly. It was delicious. Lots of flavor and the bread was great. My friends got the Thai Chicken Salad and a Margherita Pizza, both looked and tasted amazing! (I stole bites!) Overall, service was excellent and the good was good. Atmosphere was lively so I would not recommend this place for a quiet, romantic meal. We sat in the lower area so not sure if upper area closer to bar was any better?

This restaurant offers a variety of food and drinks and everything we tried was really well made. The drinks are pricy, however, this place truly is what the name says, packed. Expect an hour wait when you arrive, but the wait is worth it. We got the cheesy bread appetizer and I ordered the Blackened chicken pasta for dinner. My party ordered the Bison Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Everything tasted amazing.

Had a wonderful experience at Pack’s Tavern over July 4th weekend, staff was friendly and allowed us to bring our pups on the back patio. We got the deep fried pickles with garlic aioli and ranch (great house-made sauces), a Mexico City burger (decent burger) and the Brisket Mac-n-cheese (AMAZING, highly recommend, we wish we could have purchased the blackberry bbq sauce!). That’s a great place to visit in terms of price and cozy atmosphere. Price might be close to a dollar sign but the quality is relatively higher than expected. I got bison burger and paid 12 dollars. Also there are special deals for drinks, I got 3.5 shock top draft as I visited this place on Saturday. Last but not least waiters are the best I have ever seen, nice, friendly and professional!!! Love this place, if I visit Asheville again, I will definitely go visit packs tavern again.

This place was recommended by Biltmore. I really don't know why. It's like a wild wings cafe/pub style feel. Real casual bar atmosphere. Service staff polite but not refined. Ok to go get a cheap meal with low grade ingredients. Ordered a root. Ever float, artichoke dip, hamburger with onions and Shepard pie. Float tasted good but spilled everywhere when you put a straw in it. (Server warned us and brought extra napkins) this is just crazy. My total bill with tip was $55. Artichoke dip was chunky style with lots of cheese. As dish cools cheese hardens and clumps together making it hard to eat. We only had a few bites, did not finish and we're not questioned. Burger was greasy and patty seemed like it was ground in a blender like to purée consistency. Patty meat was fine ground. Did not finish. Shepard pie was unlike I had ever had. I ate 3/4 of it as I was hungry. A little soupy but not hearty and thick like I am used too. Was really dissatisfied with it all. There are so many great places that are on the main drag, the southern end of Biltmore Ave that I discovered afterwards that would have been sooooo much better with outdoor seating. Unless you want to eat cheap casual and quick. Go here but get there before 6 pm on a Saturday otherwise your waiting. Probably because they have live music. All in all just ok but I can have just ok at home. My total bill with tip was $55.

Pack's Tavern is amazing. Great local spot if you're traveling Asheville. I would recommend sitting in Tony's section and the pretzel and margarita pizza. Caitlyn and Chris made an excellent rendition of the margarita reminiscent of our time in Italy. Excellent choice if traveling through or wanting an upscale dinner without the pomp and circumstance. Pack's is an excellent eatery and great atmosphere.

We were told there would be a 30 minute wait but we were seated in less than 15 minutes. We ordered the fish & chips, the Mt. Mitchell burger, fish tacos and Cajun chicken pasta. We went to Asheville for Thanksgiving this year and had read about Pack’s TG meal, so we decided to avoid the dishes and cleanup and hit the buffet instead. Wow! Impressed and very satisfied! Everything was delicious and it was an all-you-can-eat affair. While my husband claimed lame after one plate, I managed another full plate of food. Delicious without the dishes. We went for lunch and it wasn’t terribly busy. Got seated right away, waited on and got our drinks. The food quality was very good! But it took a little bit longer then I’d like considering everything. I got the fish tacos, it had fresh vegetables cut up with it. And my grandmother got the French onion soup. Food and drinks were great as always but the staff was very rude. First we waited at the bar to get a drink and when asked if we were waiting for a table the lady said we would have to wait awhile for a drink. She was extremely rude about it, I understand it was a Friday but there is no need to be rude. Next our waitress messed up our checks super bad and when we asked for her to fix it she was extremely rude and would not even give us a chance to talk. I’ve been coming to packs for years but may never step foot in this restaurant again unless the staff is better trained. I do understand that places are short staffed but once again it takes nothing to be kind to someone spending $90 plus on dinner.

I don’t normally leave reviews but for this restaurant it’s necessary! This is an Asheville staple that if you are in the area is a MUST HAVE. We came in before our ghost tour which is a great time to come because they aren’t super busy. Savannah was a wonderful waitress and so personable. She helped me decide on the fish and chips which were light and crispy. The sweet potato tots were sweet and savory! My husband got the French dip and really enjoyed that. We got the elote corn dip which wasn’t too spicy so even he enjoyed it! All in all a wonderful experience so definitely add this to your stops

Went here from a Google maps suggestion while in Asheville and was very pleased! At 1 p.m. there was a line out the door but we only waited about 10 minutes. The food took awhile to come, but was SO worth the wait! I heard the southern sandwich with grilled chicken (house made pimento cheese, fried pickles and pickled red onions) and OMG! It was so good i forgot to get a picture. The craft beer list was extensive, servers were friendly, bathrooms were clean. A must try!!

My husband and I wanted to try something new while in town and absolutely enjoyed everything start to finish! We got the elote and firecracker shrimp appetizer which was out of this world, I got the lavender lemonade mixed drink which was my favorite mixed drink I’ve had in a while. For dinner we had ribeye which was cooked to absolute perfection (Medium Rare, and we both worked at a steakhouse so very picky about our steaks) and to top it all off our server Isaac was wonderful! Very attentive but didn’t overdo it. I would highly recommend this place and would love to come back when up this way.

I am giving this place 5 stars because we had a server who I believe was new or not at his calling as a server, forgot my sister had a food allergy and brought her an incorrect meal, got our checks wrong, told us we were ordering too fast, told another server to refill our drinks when it obviously wasn’t the other servers job and came to our table 2 times in over an hour of dining. But 2 hostesses and other servers came to help us and they were great! Especially Alyssa. Super kind and helpful. When we got our checks wrong I went to go find someone to help us and ran into the manager who was incredibly apologetic and helpful. At the end of the day, all these people but 1 were phenomenal and I am a firm believer in if someone does their job well they should be recognized and all of the other people at this restaurant made this bad experience the best it could be!

They were pretty busy when we arrived, but had some seats at the bar we were able to hop right into. Even with the crowd we were met quickly and served up some drinks. Popular place for locals and tourists alike, Pack's is a large restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating. Pack's offers a large variety of beers on tap, bottled as well, and has plenty of food choices including a must-try fried-pickles! AS it was lunchtime, we had a French Dip and Fish Tacos (mahi-mahi), both of which were very tasty. Service was good as well.

No worries, it only cost a $1.00

I really like Pack's! Nothing too upscale or pricy. Very laid back... Somewhat noisy so if you're looking for someplace quiet don't go here lol.... But it's a tavern so it's supposed to be loud! Nice selection of taps to choose from, and they are more than willing to let you try something. The food is pretty good. Hat the corn dip (amazing) and the pecan crusted trout (which is local vs the salmon which is farm-raised) and it was really good. They have the best makes potatoes! Also had their peanut butter pie, which their only in-house dessert. Hard to find parking most of the time so we just paid to park.

Totally decent bar and grill in downtown Asheville with good parking in rear, good beer selection. Outdoor seating. They have an events venue upstairs which was kind of loud but sort of entertaining, didn't really bother us. We've been a few times and we'll definitely be back. My daughter loves the place.

Although we had to wait we finally were seated behind a set of stairs, a/c blowing wide open on us. I finally had to search for our waitress who apologized that she didn't see us sit. Meanwhile drunk guy was yelling obscenities at a football game on one of the TV's, sitting all by himself. Food ordered, temp. adjusted. I had what was called an oven roasted sub. It was ok, but like, no mayo,mustard, nothing on 4 big slices of chibata. I had to ask for mayo, mustard, and was brought to me with salt and pepper. So, not wowed. It was food.

My son ordered a bison Mt. Mitchell buger and said its the BEST burger he has ever had. My daughter and I had pizzas and they were delicious. Thin crust. Fresh ingredients. I had the Margherita pizza. YUM! We highly recommend....we may actually go back tomorrow. Ask for Heath (most professional and informative server). We will be back!

Great experience! The building is very interesting and has a great atmosphere. The service was excellent, one member of our party has to eat gluten free and the waiter was quick to provide a separate gluten free menu. Only suggestion would be make your fried pickles with spears, not chips. We didn't order them because chip pickles are usually breaded to heavily you can't taste the pickle. Even our waiter agreed.

Wonderful AIP options, vegan, gluten free, and fabulous for those without food restrictions. Preparation was thoughtful and well prepared, portions were good, overall quality of ingredients was excellent. 3. Prices - The prices were fair and well worth the high quality of the ingredients and recipes. 4. Ambience - Bright, yet cozy, beautiful high ceilings, spacious dining, quality tableware. Best food I had during my entire trip came from Packs! So nice, I ate there twice! The blackberry bison short rib and buffalo Mac and cheese were absolutely amazing! Our waiter, Jesse, absolutely deserves a raise! He put up with my crazy group of 4 and by then end of the day he felt like a long time friend of ours that we were just stopping by to see! 10/10 food and 10/10 service! Another thing to note is that any place I stop by and see that the manager is helping out his employees by delivering food and bussing tables is a place I have absolute respect for. Just something that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Pack's just might be the best thing Asheville has to offer!
