Food and service was great! First time dining at Panchos and we were not disappointed. We didn’t have time to take photos of the other dishes we ordered. The smell was so good and we were super hungry when the food got served. Nice environment and beautiful yet simple Mexican decor. If you love Mexican, check the place out.

Hands down best Margaritas I've had in anchorage. I did get top shelf liquor but there was almost a vanilla taste. So good! Based on the reviews I was hoping the food would be better...we didn't think the food was that great. But the Margaritas!

First visit to Pancho’s- the best Mexican food we’ve had since arriving to Anchorage in June 2021. A TON of food for $13-$15 per entree- definitely reasonable. Ground beef nachos with melted shredded cheese- that is one thing we have not quite adjusted to- no queso dip- BUT this was still pretty good. Good flavor, chips were crunchy and yet weighed down with fresh toppings- excellent! The ground beef enchiladas, beans and rice were delicious also- way more than enough for two people. The only thing I would change is there was no salsa that came with the order. I read they had great salsa- prob should have asked for it- otherwise still awesome. Thank you!

Ponchos Villa has wonderful rice. It is a favorite Mexican cuisine for the locals here in Anchorage. The servers are always friendly and helpful. We enjoy coming as a family. The salsa and chips are amazing.

Great Mexican food! Plenty of tasty chips and salsa were given right away. I loved my two beef taco combo with rice and beans. The taco shells are homemade, crispy and delicious. They were filled with excellent flavored ground beef, salsa, cheese & lettuce. The rice and beans were homemade and so good. My buddy had the bean burrito combo which he found excellent as well. The margaritas were damn tasty too. Fast and professional service. Highly recommended.

My first visit to Poncho's and was not disappointed. Staff was.friendly and courteous. Food order was quickly taken and seemed to arrive just as quick. I had the Chilli Colorado and it was delicious the meat was so tender. Prices were reasonable and the entire dining experience was great. I highly recommend Poncho's and it is on my visit list.

The meat was tender and flavorful and, like most Mexican restaurants, you have huge portions. The chips they bring at the beginning were warm and the salsa was good. Wait staff was friendly and helpful and I liked the seating in the large booths--pretty much the biggest and most epic booths I've ever seen. It wasn't was best Mexican food I've had in town though, a few things didn't feel that fresh though that could have been a fluke.

It's my second time going here. The food is not bad by a Longshot. The only thing is that service can be hit or miss depending on who's working. My two experiences were different as day or night. I recommend their tamals and their frozen margaritas. As a bean lover, their beans weren't the best but with the type of rice they pair it with, it's a good combo. Their pork was probably my favorite, so I recommend their carnitas.

Pancho's Villa is an excellent Mexican restaurant, especially for Alaska. The food is true to what most Americans consider Mexican and it has really decent prices. A couple can easily eat here for under $30 if they don't buy drinks. My wife's margarita was $7 and the food pictured is the Carnitas Burrito meal, about $18 when we went. I would recommend it. Service was fast, especially when refilling chips before our meal was ready.

Boy o Boy if you want some assume athenic Mexican food this the place for me. I have had the pleasure of eating there many times. Here is another reason why I go. I'm not a huge drinker this place has more selections of taqela than anywhere else in Anchorage. If you're just visiting Anchorage this is one of the must try places. Enjoy my pick of the month.

Food and service was amazing!! We are originally from Arizona and have been searching for a place that was more authentic. We were disappointed at all the other restaurants we had been to in town until we found this place. We don't even need to try anything else as their food was better than most even in Arizona. On top of that, drink was never empty, portion sizes were huge, and prices were very reasonable. We are glad we found our spot! The picture is of the SMALL order of sopapillas!

We were always loyal to LaMex since our first date there 47 years ago but since they went out of business we were looking for a New Mexican place to eat. After trying several places and unhappy we decided to head to Spenard and try Pancho Villas. It’s an old building and been there as long as I can remember but the food was fantastic. The best crisp tacos I have ever had. Flautes, enchiladas and rice included. We finally found our New Mexican restaurant. Don’t let the location or building keep you away from this great food, fast service and friendly staff. Also full bar service.

Excellent service and value. I got the dinner combo with a chimichanga and enchilada, rice and beans, with a soda it was under $20. I didn't love the rice, it just had a bit of a sweet ish flavor to it I didn't care for but everything else was excellent! My waitress was so sweet as well.

A Mexican friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint. Fast, attentive service, delicious salsa and a big enough menu to surprise even a lifelong fan of Mexican food. I tried the pollo de salsa verde and really enjoyed it. My friend was very pleased with her meal, too. Generous portions, warm interior vibe and a larger-than-usual selection of Mexican beers. I'll definitely be back.

The food was authentic home style traditional. We felt like we made a good choice as soon as we pulled up to a full parking lot and nice toasted beef smells greeting us. The staff was very friendly. We had a huevos rancheros plate and a lunch chicken enchilada and tamale plate. If you are in the mood for authentic Mexican food I recommend it.

I thought the food was really good very mexican authentic food plus very friendly. I also knew as soon as I got up to the door I could smell the spices so I knew it would be really good. Margaritas are really good you can even taste the tequila! The one main thing for me was the wait time a little to long but if i was thinking i want mexican food. Wow this was an awesome place. It was an older Mexican restaurant, kind of dated. The bar isn't really that appealing so we ate at in restaurant part. The margaritas are awesome. the server even educated me on different Tequilas and different types of margaritas that I can get. That to me is that I am definitely going to be a repeat customers because I saw that the staff cares about their customers. They spent time with us even though they were busy. The food was excellent. The location was perfect for me. It appears that this restaurant is a restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for a while and it's popular among locals which is a good thing. I will definitely return here. At a later time.. I've been here quite a few times now. The restaurant staff is great. I've learned that these guys take pride in their margaritas. The restaurant has been around since the 70s but changed ownership around the 80s or 90s. You have a lot of regulars that come here, some dead now - that's how well established this place is. It's definitely a locals hangout.

Good food with a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Ate dinner here 8/16/16 with my wife and father. We all ordered a variation of their dinner comb special. The food and drinks were tasty and the service was very good. It's a relaxed, down to earth atmosphere-- something missing from a lot of the more ambitious 'new American' restaurants cropping up.

These guys have really good salsa! I've only been a couple of times for dinner, but we've been going there once a week for lunch. The servers are always friendly, and the food is good. Their oxtail soup is very good.

The food is American Mexican and pretty good for Alaska. I’m from Texas so it’s hard to compare to the great Mexican food I’m accustomed to. The salsa is good and I enjoyed the enchilada/taco lunch plate. I prefer shredded beef to ground beef, but it was seasoned so well it wasn’t a big deal breaker. The service was friendly and the prices for lunch are very budget friendly.

Pancho's is a great little Mexican joint on Spenard - I love their margaritas! I've enjoyed their burritos, chimichangas and tacos. The environment is like that of most other Mexican places in town, but is much smaller and more cozy - it's like family every time. They also have a downstairs space for special events, which is really great for large gatherings, including a private bathroom so you don't have to go back upstairs.

I have to write this review. Pancho's Villa was ok. We went there for grandma's birthday- bless her soul. I had a couple poorly mixed long island ice teas. The carnitas were sub-par. Overall a decent setting and a proud occasion for a special woman. Unfortunately, this night was overshadowed by my rendezvous after dinner with the woman I love. It was one of those nights that could easily be the best and worst night of my life simultaneously. In other words, I also saw the woman I love which made the occasion great. But when she had to go, I never seem to forget how I miss her. Like so many things I see, Pancho's Villa reminds me of her now.

I visit this place often. It's not great it just happens to be fair mexican food that has decent service and everyone on the lunch crew can generally agree to. Prices are decent and atmosphere is clean and generally pleasant. Service is speedy so getting in and out in an hour is totally doable.

We love this place. The bartender, Dawna, and our favorite server Lola are always cheerful and fun. The Dawna-rita (made with Milagro tequila) is my fave, and I especially like the ceviche and Mexican soft tacos. The Chile Colorado and Asada are great choices, too. Don't miss the fun here on Cinco de Mayo, when they open up the downstairs bar and dance floor.
