This is my new go-to date night restaurant! The atmosphere is warm with lights not too bright and clean. Good for fancy date nights or celebrations. I cant say enough about the food! Very delicious! We had oysters and bread for an appetizer and it was fresh and tasty! We also had ribeye, it was juicy and tender. For dessert we had melted chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Everything was worth our money! Give it a try you will not regret.

Great time at Huate! Food was great and King crab was even better! It was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. This was our first time in Alaska and although we wanted to try more king crab, this definitely didn't disappoint. Our server Rome was also fantastic. Super energetic, funny, and on point.

Wow, first night in Anchorage and what a great it was. We started with raw oysters and fish tacos- I have never had oysters with that strawberry mix on top, it was delightful, the halibut in the fish tacos was so good we decided to stay with it and do the halibut and chips and man, what a treat. The halibut was cut into little bite sized nuggets, ensuring each bite could be equally amazing.

Started with a bowl of what may be the best damn clam chowder I’ve ever tasted. So good I got two additional bowls to go! Blackened halibut with a strawberry salsa over rice and grilled asparagus for the entree. Incredibly delicious! Finished the meal with a mixed berry cobbler. It wasn’t cheap, but when the food is this good it’s worth the price. If you’re ever in downtown Anchorage, I highly recommend eating here!

We shared a Fish (halibut) & chip, rock fish taco, baby back rib, seafood pasta and a garden salad. The fishes were excellently prepared. The ribs were very tasty and the meat falls off the bone. The home made pasta was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to have such a great meal and great services in Anchorage.

We had NO idea that this was a Guy Fieri DDD spot, we just walked in and sat at the bar not knowing what to expect. By the time we were done, I was planning on what to eat the next day when we came back! The service was outstanding, the location right in the heart of city, and the ambiance was fancy enough for a special night out and casual enough for a great time with friends. I have no idea when we'll be back in Anchorage, but this is ABSOLUTELY on my must visit when we do!

This is the first time I've been to Haute Quarter Grill and it was pretty awesome. Parking isn't the most convenient since it's situated downtown. It's an upscale steak house downtown. The atmosphere is great for dinner time. The staff were nice and went above and beyond. The seating and layout are spacious but provide the feeling of a private dinner. They seem to have a wonderful wine selection on a large floor-to-ceiling rack near the bar area. I posted a picture of the special which was fillet mignon, mashed potatoes with asparagus. Wonderfully prepared and presented. It's a wonderful option if you want to take family or a special someone out for a treat or celebration.

Awesome upscale place. Warm vibes and amazing service. Our server (Kayli) even went out of her way to add a candle to a birthday dessert without anyone asking her to do so. Filet mignon and crab legs were incredible. 11 out of 10, would recommend.

Having known this restaurant from it's early days in Eagle River, I was happy to see that while some of the good old staples are gone, they still offer high quality food. We had the calamari appetizer. It was well seasoned (but a tad soggy). We still loved it! I had the blue cheese salad and it was as delicious as it's always been! The candied nuts are a magical touch and the salad is well balanced. For dinner I had the seafood pasta and it was absolutely delicious. The pasta is fresh made and hearty perfectly al dente. The capers lighten the meal and there is a generous amount of perfectly cooked prawns and scallops. My husband got the prime rib and he gasped when he cut into it. Sooooo tender and cooked to perfection. I stole several bites. The hollandaise sauce was rich and full of seafood. The mash potatoes were fluffy and appropriately salted. Underwhelmed by the veg. Limited non alcoholic options, sadly. We would have loved a mocktail or AF wine. Loved it but our search for the ✨perfect✨ date night restaurant continue.

I couldn’t have been happier with my experience. After a long day of flying, I was so glad to have an excellent meal. My server was so pleasant, I enjoyed the atmosphere, and my entire meal hit all the right notes. The crab legs were reasonably priced, already split, and with the included sides was a well-portioned meal. I really enjoyed my chowder as well. It had a wonderful creamy consistency and great flavor. And the molten cake to end the night had the right combination of sweetness, deep chocolate flavor, and tartness from the raspberry sauce. Not to mention, it was perfectly gooey inside. Thanks so much for making my day.

Chose to eat here based on reviews. The place was packed starting at 5:00 pm when we walked by killing time looking around town while waiting for a 7:45 reservation. Drinks from the bar are excellent. Wife and I split a bowl of clam chowder that was as good as any we've ever had. I had seafood jambalaya and wife had haddock fish and chips. Both were excellent. Jambalaya had a ton of various types of fish. Waiter was very prompt. Highly recommend.

I dunno about this place. Not sure if I would go back or not. Time will tell. The atmosphere didn't seem odd, but the layout of the dining area was. I didn't take off any stars because this was just a personal opinion about use of space. So let's get into the meat and potatoes, if you will. I took a picture of my order. 1 star taken away. Looks pleasing so no worries there. The fries were way over salted. Au jus was just as overly salted. I normally drink my left over au jus but not this time. It was like soy sauce salty instead of what I enjoy more of a beef broth flavor au jus. Then lastly, the prime rib was dried out something fierce. Yes it is hard to keep thinly sliced prime rib juicy but mylanta. Creole sauce was surprisingly blah, thank goodness not overly salty! My wife didn't care for the broccoli blanched for two seconds then plated, considered cook and the mashed potatoes had a fake taste to her. She did mention the scallops were amazing and her steak was excellent quality. Another friend with us said the Spicy Chicken Nocci was delicious. The other 1 star lost: waitress and dirty restroom. Half star to the restroom because, giving the benefit of the doubt, customer use; but it could have been handled better in the men's department. The other half of that star, unfortunately, was our waitress. Food Network was brought up more times than our party cared to hear. Her continuing rave how everything was so good here, even made comments about food she doesn't like but tastes good here made everyone rolled their eyes at her. Not just my opinion, but 4 others with me thought she was a bit much and over the top. She just wasn't paying attention to our needs and assumed a lot. I will probably try this place again. I didn't care about it being on TV. I didn't care for the waitress. My particular dish was overly salty on numerous levels. It was a little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area. What makes me want to come back are the various dishes I was able to see come out of the kitchen. There was a nice variety of dishes to try.

Went here for a date night dinner. Delicious! Their cocktail menu is diverse and unique, and the food portions were filling but not too overwhelming. Highly recommend the Girls Bread appetizer. Our server was friendly and helpful as well. The ambiance inside is surprisingly nice. Will definitely be returning!

Absolutely amazing food. The jambalaya was delicious and spicy, the halibut fish chips (nuggets sized) had just the right level of fish-to-batter, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I only had the risotto side, which was also very good. Make reservations well in advance (days in summer) or elbow your way into the open bar area seating like we did.

We are traveling with family in Alaska. Seven of us. We planned dinner here last night. Three kids were tired and stayed home with Mom. We missed the time and changed the number. We were still accommodated on a busy evening. Quick service. Seafood pasta, jambalaya and a beef sandwich were our choices. All excellent. Good bar selection too.

NAILED IT! I've never had scallops that were cooked so perfectly and the halibut was excellent as was the Filet mignon! They so got it right tonight. I'm happy our usual haunts were full up or we would have never found this jewel!

OMG….our best dinner yet while on vacation in Alaska. Service by Delores was perfect and food was amazing. We had the fish (halibut) and chips, seafood pasta, seafood jambalaya, Alaska salmon with pasta (Breyer lemon, hazelnuts and vodka cream sauce) , the most delicious clam chowder and a blue cheese salad. A definite must while in Anchorage.

Kinda lost some of the flare after a certain t.v chef was there. Small changes to things that never needed to be changed. They had nice white plates and bowls after the show was there they got cheap looking diner platters that some of their items now come on. lesser portions on a couple items but same price. It used to be a fair amount of food for the price.

This is an excellent restaurant to get some fresh seafood or steaks. It's a casual environment with elevated cuisine. If you're lucky enough to sit near the back of the dining room, you'll see the chefs in action. No surprise that the menu offers the freshest catch of the season; I had some pretty good halibut here. It's hard to pass up seafood, but their prime rib did not disappoint either. They leave more fat around the edges of their steaks than your average steakhouse would, but the crust and juiciness were beyond incredible. To round out your dining experience, they have quite a few tasty appetizers and unique cocktails. Good luck if you plan on having room for dessert. All-around, Haute Quarter Grill is an excellent place to dine in downtown Anchorage.

I'm so bummed I didn't find this place until my last day in Anchorage. The food was amazing, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the oysters and seafood jambalaya. Good sized bar with a standard selection of beer, wine, and spirits. I very much enjoyed my visit here and this place will be top of my list when I return.

I loved my experience here! Expensive but worth it. Highly recommend an old fashioned with the blackened prime rib. The beignets weren’t as good as Cafe Su Mondé, but then what is? My only quibble - I’m a large guy, so the booth seating was uncomfortable. Tables are bolted so you can move them any.

This was the best meal we had while in Alaska! The blackened prime rib and 1/2 pound king crab! The potatoes and sauce was even delicious. The waiter was attentive and atmosphere was good.

I ate here previously and had the halibut and chips and watched my brother savor the king crab and rave about it. So I came back and we had the roasted oysters, blackened halibut and 1 1/2 lbs of King crab, family style. It was fantastic. They filter their water, which if youve tasted Anchorage tap water, you'd appreciate. The art is fun, and wait staff is personable. We had reservations at Simon and Seaforts but heard from my brother that the king crab was 30$ more and not as good as Haute's, so we canceled our reservation and came to Haute's instead. Highly recommend laying down for the King Crab. The seating is a bit tight.

Walked by this place a lot without even realizing how good the food was. We made last minute reservations online and the staff was the perfect amount of attentive. And the food was bomb! This is a picture of halibut I ordered, my boyfriend got crab and it was also good.

At first impression of Haute Quarter Grill is a well presented dining restaurant downtown Anchorage. I think the location is a good choice as well. The interior is of a nice upscale decor. No coat check that I noticed. The hostess who greeted us had Millennial manners though that did not discourage me. Reservations can be made but not required, calling ahead to see how busy they are currently is always a good idea. We were seated in a both and our waiters name was, Mel. I urge you to request this gentleman, he treated us with outstanding service. The spirits and beer list was rather impressive with drinks and selections for any occasion; even a seasonal brew is offered. The menu layout was done well; there was not an over amount of selections to cause one to be indecisive. I chose the calamari with a spicy aioli sauce and lemon slices, for an appetizer. It was served promptly and still hot from preparation, quite tasty. I ordered the Blackened Prime Rib rare, and my company chose a cup of French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad for our entrees. My prime rib arrived and was presented well on the plate. Her soup and salad arrived at the same time and looked good too. My dinner was served with broccolini and a carrot medley. I found the prime rib to be excellent in flavor. The onion soup and salad were a different conclusion. The soup was done proper with Swiss cheese, but was a bit sweet in it's flavor and the salad was kind of bland for a Caesar. I do not dine out much for a soup and salad. I am looking for those choice cuts meat and the Haute Quarter Grill answered that request with an amazing slice of aged prime rib seasoned and prepared to perfection. I am not fond of many restaurants in Anchorage but I will be returning to HQG and looking forward to do so as well. I recommended you come and dine in this establishment.

We were thrilled to just get seated after getting shuffled around with 90+ minute wait times. Our server Mel was friendly and attentive, and he made great recommendations. I had the halibut with the strawberry salsa and it was delicious! My sister enjoyed the seafood pasta. We also shared the crab legs which were appropriately priced. Menus is small but good food is good but overpriced for the portions and the overall seating is cramped for such a "high end" restraint not to mention the order to table time is quite long even with simple drinks. Would probably recommend for a slow night anniversary dinner or special occasion but nothing during there peek hrs.

This is consistently one of (if not singularly) the best restaurant in anchorage. The food is fresh, simple yet complex but not convoluted. The service is friendly, prompt and the dishes are always hot and perfectly ordered. As an example of how the staff go above and beyond expectations, Natalie went on a hunt for ibuprofen for me and found some in the back office! I really appreciated that and it showed she cared enough to try. Mind you, this was in a full house on Friday night and she had multiple tables. I will keep coming here to support this local gem and also fill my belly with quality delicious foods.

Cocktails are a little on the weak side. Sound bleed over from other tables is on the high side. Food is excellent if a bit on the expensive side. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The French fries....are fine. Shoestring is not to my preference but many people love them. The blackened Prime Rib was amazing.

This was the best place we’ve eaten during our whole trip! We ate at many different popular places but this place was better than them all! They had excellent food and excellent service. If your in the area definitely make the time to check it out. I had the special catch of the day and my daughter had the blackened prime rib. Both were delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly with amazing gravy and sauces. You’re definitely missing out if you don’t check this place out.

Great downtown restaurant with a diverse dinner/drrink menu. The spicy chicken gnocchi was amazing, full of flavor. We did not reserve a table ahead but was able to find seating at the bar and bartender and barback were fantastic!

Nice restaurant, very quality food. Service was on point, all interactions were very friendly. The seafood jambalaya was on point. The scallops were like melt in your mouth. A little bit spicy but just amazing. Would really suggest coming here if you’re in town

Overall a good experience. Place was pretty busy for a Thursday evening, reservation was at 745, we got done and out of there by 930 so a bit on the slower side. Service was good but again it took a long time for our main meal to come out. Ordered the Smoked salmon fettucine. It was alright....I thought it was a bit runny and skimpy on the smoked salmon. I've had better where it's a bit creamier which I prefer. Our company had the blackened chicken gnocchi which was done very well. Caesar salad for starters was good also For those that were a fan on Table 6, they do have a few items from there on their menu at HQG. We had the salmon dip for appetizers but it didn't seem to be the same as T6, again skimpy on the smoked salmon. I'm going to rate this place a 4 until we have another opportunity to eat there again but overall the was good

We were a party of seven Thursday night at 5 :00 pm. The food was great and the atmosphere was very appealing. only reason I gave this place 3 stars was the server. My husband inquired about the beer on tap and the server was very condescending and rude. My daughter even asked for a new server. She came back to apologize and said she had just come back from vacation. We were all shocked with her behavior but we were willing to give her another chance. She pulled it together but by that point the evening Was pretty well wrecked.

Ask for the server Rome, he was the best we experienced in Anchorage. He was polite and informative. Rome had our party of 3 laughing and kept our drinks full. The food was incredible. The steaks are massive and the fish is fresh. 10/10

Drinks: Drinks were very well prepared, a good amount of alcohol to get a buzz but not enough that it overpowered the other flavors. Great selection of whiskey for a restaurant. Appetizers: 'Girls Bread' was amazing. Cheesy bread on steroids. The combination of ricotta, apples, dates, and a few other nuts and fruits made a very delicious choice. Would definitely order it again. Dinner: ***Baby back ribs were nicely seasoned with a tasty plum BBQ sauce. A decent amount of kick paired with the sweetness of the plum nicely. ***Alaskan King Crab was slightly more expensive due to market pricing, but still reasonable for us ($60/lb). Crab was delicious and the green beans and mashed potatoes it came with were equally as delicious. ***Spicy Chicken Gnocchi was amazing. The cheese sauce was smooth and creamy, the Gnocchi were perfectly cooked and the chicken was well seasoned and cooked without being dry. Desserts: Crême Bruleé was very good with a crispy semi-burnt (in a good way) sugar chip. Bananas foster milkshake was definitely boozy and still had a good banana flavor. One of the few boozy milkshakes that actually tasted like the flavor it said it was.

OMG this place is a must!!! We walked in without a reservation and the two hostesses were super helpful to seat us. I am so thankful they did. This was by far our favorite and best meal in AK. The seafood was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the dessert was so fresh (berry cobbler-yum!) To top it off, our server was so helpful and such a gentleman! Thank you, HQG for a dinner we would love to come back for!!

Wow, We hadn't been there in a while. It was some of the best food we have had since the last time we were there. Great service and atmosphere. We both had steaks, the blackened prime rib was great. The special fillet was amazing. The Halibut appetizer may be the best around. We have been disappointed by most of our regular places we have been going to for years they all have been just getting down to average or less so not returning to those places for a long while. We are looking for great places to become the new go to amazing places to enjoy the food and service. The Haute Quarter Grill has that amazing food that we want when we go out. The prices are near the top end so we will not eat out as often but will know that we will be happy to spend the extra for the amazing experience. You will have to have reservations to have a table. The bar area has limited seating as first come first serve. If there is a concert or other fun to do things downtown then you will need to make reservations well in advance.

This place was amazing! Sadly forgot to take photos. The atmosphere was great and the food was very tasty. Highly recommend the salmon dip appetizer and the rib eye (or filet mignon if they have that special)! There was a rather long wait between the appetizers and the entrees, but the delicious drinks made the wait painless. Highly recommend!

This is and has been our absolute favorite place to eat since they were in Eagle River. Everything is delicious!! If I had a complaint, I wish they would bring back their original steamed clams. But we go to Table 6 for their steamed clams, which I enjoy. I just prefer the atmosphere and wine glasses at the grill. Wine glasses really make a difference:)!

Finally went in there today, was a memorable experience. Was some feelings though, I worked at the Downtown Deli for 17 summers and almost 4yrs of full time. The atmosphere was memorable and my server was friendly amd NOT coming to my table every 2 or 3 minutes, I like that. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was very tasty and robust with cajun spice. The Shrimp, scallops and a great andouille sausage. The clams were nice and tender to btw. Definitely go again.

The best meal we have had in the 49th state. Hands down. We did a 3 course meal. The halibut bites app was the best battered halibut, with the most amazing tartar sauce. Then for the blue cheese salad for a non-blue cheese lover: perfection. And then the filet special paired perfectly with a wine, thanks to the guidance of our server and the manager. We will return. Can't wait for our next trip to Anchorage.

I don't know what it is but I just don't really like this place, though all of my friends do so maybe it's just me. The food is ok but expensive. The service is hit and miss. Half of the times I was there (I went 4 or 5 times) they seated us at this big table near the kitchen. I get that we are a big group but you can't hear any conversation over the kitchen noise. I have no urge to go back but don't let that stop you from trying.

Haute Quarter Grill is an amazing dining experience that blows all other upscale Anchorage restaurants out of the water! Great service comes from the well-trained staff and adequately amount staff, everyone was quick and pleasant. The menu has a simple handful of appetizers and entrees but the small selection shows each dish is masterfully crafted. I've yet to find better calamari in town! Enough can't be said about the prime rib, which is covered in a Creole seafood sauce. To. Die. For! The bar has a decent selection of local draft beers, and a modest but well chosen selection of spirits. The fact that Bartertown Kentucky Bourbon was on the shelf impressed me and I'm always pleased to see Mr. Remy Martin amongst the cognac selections. Do make sure to book ahead of time! I showed up at opening and had to opt for bar seating instead of a table (however the squishy stools made my stay comfortable). Haute Quarter Grill is definitely a placed not to be missed!

Service was amazing - attentive but unobtrusive, never had to ask for a water refill or flag staff down to take plates. Baby back ribs are fall off the bone tender. Hubs had the Saturday steak special (filet mignon), and said it was the best steak he has had in two years. It is a smaller restaurant, so make reservations unless you will arrive as soon as they open.

I have never been disappointed with food, service, or price. This is often one of my "go to" places downtown. I recently met a friend there on a Friday night. I guess we had a lot to catch up on because 5 hours later, tucked into a cozy corner all by ourselves, I realized we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not sure where the time went but when I realized we had been there an hour past close I was shocked that no one had come by to ask us to leave. I realize this was probably quite annoying for the staff that was left with us as they have family and plans outside of work, but we really had no idea what time it was; just got lost in conversation, and didn't notice everyone around us leaving. We apologized for hanging out so long and didn't in the slightest way feel like an inconvenience to the staff. This is the kind of customer service I expect in a restaurant but rarely find in AK. Well done Haute Quarter!

We are traveling with family in Alaska. Seven of us. We planned dinner here last night. Three kids were tired and stayed home with Mom. We missed the time and changed the number. We were still accommodated on a busy evening. Quick service. Seafood pasta, jambalaya and a beef sandwich were our choices. All excellent. Good bar selection too.

It was very nice sitting outside on a June evening. I guess probably not as nice in the winter. We had the jambalaya and the ahi appetizer. Both were delicious. The ahi was served very nicely fanned out with seaweed salad and a scoop of rice. It comes with a sauce on the side which is quite spicy. The desserts sounded really good, but the berry cobbler we ordered was only so so.
