Reviews of Alquds Mediterranean Grill and Grocery
Quiet area and plenty of parking! Customer service was great! He made me feel like home! I got a gyro with rice and salad about 18 bucks. The food wasn’t as good as the customer service. The gyro meat was dry, salty and tasted old. The rice was cooked good wasn’t under or overcooked. The salad was good it had flavor, the greens was fresh and crispy and the cucumber and tomatoes, it’s just a little too oily for me. I really like the customer service just not the food. My lips didn’t smack at this joint overall great customer service and food not so good.
Food was amazing! If your having a need for some middle eastern food come here. Lamb was tender and flavorful. Portions are generous and somewhat in line with prices. Market attached also has plenty of options for cooking.
I had the falafel platter and while most falafel I’ve had out tends to be dry, theirs was fresh and moist. The hummus was delicious and definitely didn’t skimp on the tahini; it was the most prominent flavor. The pita was a bit stale and the rice was bland but the staff were awesome and my meal-to-go was served up in less than 10 minutes.
I’m most excited about the grocery section; for only $8.49 I got a 26 oz jar of their decadent honey with nuts! 🤤 I’ll be back for a big bag of non-gmo rice 🌾
Trust me, the food here is wonderful. And our expectations were high, as we've had wonderful, home-cooked Arabic food many times. I've also made several Arabic dishes. There is a "legit" chef in that kitchen that knows what she's/he's doing. 😊👍 The prices are entirely reasonable, too. We got the food to go, but the person who took our order was friendly and helpful. And the food came out quickly (we enjoyed grocery shopping while we waited) and piping hot. Whole family loved it.
Fantastic value. 5/5 on that aspect. The vegetarian plate includes 2 grape leaves, two falafel, rice, salad, baba ghanoush, hummus, and two pitas. The hummus was creamy and tasted fresh. It was very salty though. The salad is good but got kind of old after a few bites honestly. Rice was solid with a nice flavor. My favorite was the baba ghanoush and falafel. Will be back for more if that. Also bought some dates and tea from the store area.
Food is always excellent, the staff are pleasant and helpful. Try different things on the menu, all of it is good. Best hummus I have ever had, I only buy hummus from them now. Grocery has a good selection and is a great resource for stuff you can't normally find at a big retailer.
This place is a hidden treasure. Glad we found it! Friendly staff, food (and the Coffee) is exceptional, and the grocery section has items not found in regular chain supply stores which is a plus for me now that I've been learning to cook Greek dishes.
Went in for a late lunch, we've never been here before, but love Middle Eastern food. The restaurant is off to one side of the specialty grocery store. Booth tables were long each side of a long narrow room separated from the store by glass.
I had a beef kabob, chicken plate with rice and a Greek salad, my lunch guest had chicken shawarma with rice and a house salad. We had dolmas for starters.
The salads were fresh with a good homemade dressing, the dolmas had to be the best I've ever had in Albuquerque, definitely not the ones shipped overseas in glass jars.
The entres were good, nicely marinated meats, but with kabobs I've had better where they are cooked over an open flame and delivered fresh to your table. These were dried out and though the flavor was delicious the texture just wasn't there.
We had the best pistachio baklava for dessert with hot mint tea.
I would have rated this restaurant 5.0 for appetizers and dessert and 4 for main dishes.
Love this place! Bountiful portions, great tasting food, well stocked grocery! It's my new meet up place to have lunch! Try it...you won't be disappointed!
I’ve been eating this amazing food for over 10 years now and love and appreciate the quality more and more each year. Portions are huge now, and if you can, go in to sit down and eat and finish with Arabic coffee and a piece of baklava. Also all of the salads are amazing and delicious, but the Alquds Salad with delicious tahini is not to be missed.
This place is just excellent. Really really great owners and service. The food is excellent. The best falafel I’ve ever had and the best babaganoush too. Their platters for 4 or 6 people are a great deal with lots of choice for everyone. Great selection of vegetarian and meat dishes too. If you don’t know what to order just ask for help. They also have a thriving takeout business and a great market with some great middle eastern spices, teas and provisions.
Wonderful in-house made Greek food. My veg platter was bounteous… best salads of several varieties in the area, delicious falafel, warm fresh dolma, great bread & baba ganoush, hummus. Chicken shawarma was incredible! Nice desserts, especially the pistachio baklava. Definitely recommend!
I have only been once but will definitely be returning. Traditional Palestinian recipes made from scratch in house. Everything was fresh and delicious.
I have tried so many things here! The people are wonderful and super welcoming and the food is authentic and fresh and very reasonably priced. You can easily get a lunch portion out of it if you have some self restraint (which I've mostly lacked).
I would definitely go with the fattoush salad. Zesty and the fried pita gives a great crunch.
The chicken and lamb shawarma are at the top of my list. Gyros are also legit. You'll want extra hummus for everything.
I also tried the chicken tawook and beef shawarma and while there was certainly nothing wrong with it, it wasn't enough to steer me away from the shawarma plates that I have chosen nearly every time I've gone.
I'm not big on sweets bug I've treated others to the baklava and I've heard great things!
OH! I almost forgot. Iced mint tea. Flavorful and refreshing. With generous and prompt refills.
Absolutely the best food ever!! It's my first stop when I come into town. I crave it when I am away. Wonderful friendly staff and consistent fresh, delicious, dinning!! 6 out of 5 stars ;)
Love to have these types of options available.
The baklava was yummy, lots of authentic food from the middleeast,
Large portions, fair prices! The mint tea, tabbouli salad, hummus, pita, and chicken shawarma platter was more than enough for one person. Excellent!
I've been coming here for 10 years. It's the best middle eastern food in the southwest forsure. I love the lamb shawarma platter.
One of my favorite lunch spots! The sandwiches are to die for I'm never dissatisfied. The grocery is also great. They have many things you can't find at Smiths or Walmart, great selection of spices and prices are very fair too, I come here to buy my huge jug of olive oil can't beat the price or quality anywhere else! Staff is ALWAYS very polite
We were in Albuquerque a few months ago and found this place by accident. We ordered the chicken and beef shawarma and they were excellent. Passing through Albuquerque again, I wanted to stop by for the Al Ard olive oil (The best olive oil in the universe). We ordered shawarma again and tried the lamb this time. The food was even better than I remembered. I will definitely stop by every time we drive through Albuquerque.
The lamb shawarma is awesome. Also the Arabic coffee is a great pairing. Prices are great, lunch for 2 and drinks under $25.00. Thanks for the wonderful lunch!
Awesome family owned experience. The wait staff is extremely friendly. The baklava is a must!
Exactly what I was looking for. Awesome sandwich and fresh cut fries. Great service.
Very reminiscent of all the great Middle Eastern restaurants in Detroit.
Excellent small market/restaurant. Food was fresh and delicious....high quality. Service is friendly and inviting....glad to have finally experienced.
awesome schawarma and falafel and great hot sauce. iced mint tea. small baba ganoush and 2 sandwiches for $20. i’ll be running back !
I tried out Al-quds today for the first time on the reccomendation of a friend and not only was the food delicious but the customer service was excellent. This was my first time ever having Shawarma so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was so good. I got the beef Shawarma special which comes with french fries, baklava and a medium soda for $9.99. Shawarma might be one of my new favorite foods! The baklava was the best that I've had in Albuquerque so far. The french fries were perfectly salted and peppered. The customer service was beyond anything I could have expected. I went with my two-year-old son and he was super anxious wanting to run aroundwhile we were waiting for our take-out but I didn't want him to get into the groceries that were on the shelves so I held him in my lap. The young man that was manning the cash register brought us a lollipop while he was on his way to help two other customers. My son immediately got distracted by the lollipop. I offered to pay for the lollipop but he declined saying that he had been taught that "if we take care of the children the children will take care of us". He was so sincere and so kind in his actions . No matter how the food was, I would still have become a regular customer simply because he gave such good customer service. As it is, the food is delicious!
Love the people and the food!! Always smiling and everything is always delicious. The dolmas are absolutely amazing, don't go without trying them. Our favorite stop for lunch.
Awesome food! Great customer service. Very friendly atmosphere. I really enjoy eating here a lot!!
The lamb shawarma sandwich wasn't bad, just wasn't a fan of the pita bread or falafels.
Best Part it’s Locally owned, great atmosphere and friendly service. Great Menu, fresh ingredients and tastes amazing. We typically split a shawarma platter, with rice and a large side of hummus. We love all their salads, and the falafel’s are the best in town. If you are a coffee lover like me try their hot arabic coffee, its like an espresso but with more flavor and kick. Don’t forget to take an order of in house baklava, the pistachio is my fav.
We visited Alquds and ordered takeout for lunch. I tried the chicken shawarma salad. It tasted fresh and was a very good portion. While we were waiting we browsed the aisles and they have a good selection of middle eastern groceries.
Love Alquds. A wide variety of foods, tea, coffee, spices. They also have the best hummus.
Suer yummy, and friends staff!
Had the Dolma. Great with the smooth and creamy humus. It's a smaller restaurant featuring good food at a very affordable price. We were surprised by the size of servings and when we saw our check, WOW! Definitely worth going there. There's also a grocery store attached so I can actually by the ingredients along with some marinades, chocolates; saw some things I remember having as a kid.
Me and my husband came here for shawarma. Their lamb shawarma is delicious!! We had it with rice and in a sandwich, both ways it was amazing! We also the falafels with dipping sauce and tabouli, yum! And we finished the night with the best baklava I have ever eaten in my life!! Highly recommend.
Tried this place for the first time today during my lunch break. The service was great and they were very quick to process my order. I ordered the gyros plate with rice and tabbouleh salad to go. It also came with a piece of pita.
I'm no connoisseur, so all I can do is compare it to other similar restaurants at which I've also eaten. The tabbouleh was the best I've ever had--some places do it halfheartedly, but this place does it well. Rice is pretty invariant across restaurants--it's rice fortified with B vitamins. The gyros deserve special mention. When I order gyros in a non-sandwich format, I typically come across two different types depending on where I'm eating. Some people (e.g. Sahara & two restaurants near UNM I'll decline to name) slice the rotisserie meat into broad, thin sections like a soft, greasy lunch meat. Some people (e.g. Alqud's, The Kasbah) slice off smaller shavings that are crispy on the outer edge with a moist/greasy part too. I happen to like both, but the latter is better, which is why I was happy to find Alqud's does it that way. The pita was good, but, sort of ironically, while I like my gyros a little crispy instead of soft, I like my pita almost fluffy instead of having a little tooth to it. I'm probably atypical in that regard.
The portions were generously sized as well. I feel like I got a good value for my money. Would definitely eat here again.
Outstanding place to eat!!! Serving size is enough and it was delish.
Good food, friendly staff. Typical Mediterranean offerings done well. Their pistachio baklava was amazing. There is also a grocery attached that had some nice offerings.
Edit: I've been back a few times since my initial visit, still not a fan of the tazitki, but everything else they have is great. The Shwarma is some of the best I've had. Gave them back their will earned stars.
Stopped in for lunch. The place was crazy busy, but seemed understaffed. Everyone I had contact with was super nice and apologetic for how long everything took (not very long actually), but I did have to take it back to office instead of eating in their sit down dining room.
As for the food, I had a gyro combo and an order of hummus. The hummus was great. They only give one pita bread with it and I did run out of bread before hummus tho 😔. The gyro meat was good as were the fries. They lost me with the tzatziki sauce tho. Usually my favorite part of the meal it was less a sauce and more of a pile of diced cucumbers. Mounds of them. Everywhere. It kinda ruined the whole gyro for me. Maybe you're into cucumber City and this would be a selling point?
I'll try them again in a few months when I have more time to dine & hopefully they'll be in a bit more of a groove. I'll probably order something without tzatziki tho.
So so so good. Our family shared the dolmas (YUM), a chicken Schwarma sandwich, a gyro meat platter with tabouli and hummus, and baklava. Chicken sandwich and dolmas were some of the best we’ve had stateside. Pita nice and fluffy, excellent customer service too!
The gyro sandwich was delicious. It is a good sized gyro with plenty of meat and good amount of tzatziki sauce. The pita bread was soft and the hummus was good as well.
We ordered the Gyro platter with rice and Chicken Shawarma Platter with hummus. We also ordered Dolmes. The chicken, hummus and dolmes were pretty good. Portions were pretty good as well. The salad was good although, I had to remove various pieces of brown/wilted lettuce and the dressing was very different tasting. The pita was very dry. For the appetizer and 2 platters it $35 which I find kinda high. We usually always go to Jasmine's Cafe but it's so far to drive , we decided to try here instead. I really regret that decision, Jasmine's is so much better& totally worth the drive.
Great food and friendly staff.
I tried shawrma before it was good
Came next time they are closed, and its not mentioned in google maps. They also don’t answer the phone to make sure if they’re open.
Wonderful food that is plentiful! Ordered Chicken Shawarma salad ,and it satiated my big appetite. Also had pistachio baklava which was moist, had a great texture and was not overly sweet with a nice floral flavor .
I enjoyed this meal tremendously!!!!
Such good food, I've been shopping at the store and ordering food since I started looking for some delicious local hummus a few years back. Would and do recommend to lots of friends and family!
Alquds is a very unique place. It's in an old bank building which still has pneumatic transport tubes on the outside and a vault on the inside.
The grocery selection is very unique, and you can find really good stuff like lavash bread, date maamoul cookies, canned dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), saffron, dried and canned chickpeas, dried lentils, teas, Mediterranean spices, and many other hard to find things.
They are also a restaurant and offer dine-in or carry-out options. The food is good, and the prices are pretty much on par with similar places.
Tonight was my first time at this great place and I will definitely be back. Great food, very fresh. Friendly staff and owner. Quick service. Generous portions and the best falafel I’ve ever had
I love it. Their hummus is fabulous! As well as their lamb shwarma
We ordered the Vegetarian Platter and the Vegetarian Extravaganza. Such excellent flavor, so delicious! Love the tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, dolmas, rice, hummus, falafel, and fresh soft pita. Can't wait to try more menu items. Also the grocery store is neat and so clean. Love the great selection of legumes and fruit spreads at ideal prices. Staff is helpful and courteous too.
So blessed to have this store in my neighborhood 💓 Great fresh grocery options and a resturant...love the baklava!
Fantastic food! And the people who work there are always awesome! Try their falafel. Super good!
Delicious authentic Mediterranean food! Great selection.
Excellent place to eat. Staff is polite, food comes out hot and fresh and tastes superb.
Delicious falafel pita sandwich. Succulent dates.
Alquds aka San Pedro mart *old name* is the finest dining establishment in all of New Mexico. Great authentic middle eastern food. Every time I come in I am greeted and felt as if I am Apart of their family. Don’t get me started on the food...Delicious. I recommend 10/10. Moe Kahala great job!
This is a fun place to eat and shop. Thier food is very tasty.
Been coming here for years, the whole family has always been so nice and helped me pick cool items to try. I love dining I or taking out. The two sons always give me great service. Thank you
Amazing Middle Eastern food. Hummus, shawarma, and recently-added gyros. This is a locally-owned hole-in-the wall restaurant with all the good things you associate with that type of restaurant. My only complaint is that I would like whole-wheat pita. They tried it, but not enough people bought to make it worth doing.
If the restaurant is not enough, they also have a small grocery store selling middle eastern imported foods.
This is one of my regular places to get lunch, and I have introduced several people who have all been happy with their food.
I can’t emphasize enough how good this is. The food from the restaurant is really good and they’re very fast. The market has amazing products and it’s overall just a great place
Amazing, the freshest, tastiest middle eastern menu within literally hundreds of miles. Service can be a bit slow because everything is made to order (!), usually by one very hardworking chef. But it is worth the wait. Atmosphere is, well, you're eating in a mini-mart, but who cares when the food is the best around.
My boyfriend and I wanted gyros. We stopped by this place, randomly...this has to be the best hummus I have ever had! The pita bread is fresh. Excellent customer service, they brought our food and drink fast and kept our drinks topped off. We ordered the Greek salad and the family size gyros plate. It was amazing. We will be back!!! 5 stars!!!
Excellent food and service. Sandwiches made with fresh pita bread baked daily. Also their falafel is the best!
Same great food as before in a bigger, newer building
My son and I decided to try a place we had never been to for his Birthday lunch, EXCEEDED our expectations! Very helpful with menu suggestions, and the Greek coffee was AMAZING! I purchased a pound to go! We will return every chance we get! Friendly, efficient and great service, not to mention affordable options with plentiful portions!
Amjad was amazing and attentive. He was able to run the grocery side and check on us frequently. The food was amazing. I will definitely be back here. Especially to eat and then shop around the store. Thank you Amjad for your wonderful service and thank you to the cooks for the amazing meal.
Food was excellent. My friend ordered it for my birthday.
I usually come for the groceries; there are many items I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. I have also picked up food to go from the restaurant and it was great! Whether you need hard to find ingredients at reasonable prices or you want some good Mediterranean food, or both, you can’t go with wrong with Alquds.
Authentic Greek food. Really flavorful, my first visit was yesterday but will definitely not be my last.
Hospitality & Generosity in real delicious Palestinian food 🍱
We arrived close to closing, yet we enjoyed a full leisurely dinner. The managers remained late to accommodate us.
This place is freaking amazing. Everything is so fresh and well-seasoned! The family who works here are super friendly and everyone should give them big tips!!
Highlights: the baba ganoush, the lamb shawarma, and the fatoush salad. I’ve eaten here several times and will keep coming back! They have good corona practices and I felt safe eating inside. Also a very fun grocery store with middle Eastern spices and ingredients that are not easy to find elsewhere.
This place has great food and an awesome little store. The lamb was delicious and they gave me a pretty big portion. I thought it was very fresh and had great flavor. I would even go back just for the hummus. The store is so worth checking out because they have a great variety of stuff that I have never seen.
The best Palestinian food in ABQ. Always prompt service and friendly. I love the market section of the restaurant. I always find something new to try and can bring my favorites home. Prices are very fair for the great quality food.
Always a good place for lunch. I've been coming here for many years. I usually order the Falafel Special. I've tried their other items as well and it's just as good. All in all top notch service, friendly staff, and amazing food.
I've just discovered this place and if you haven't I highly recommend trying it out the people in there are really nice in fact even the customers were really nice and they have some of the best food frozen or not as do I have not as well highly recommend trying it out
Probably the freshest food I’ve had in a while. Everything homemade and you can taste the love in every dish. Very good price for how much food you get. Would highly recommend for those that crave Mediterranean food
Pro... it's tasty, good portions, hummus is great
Con... every time the chicken breast has been a bit too dry, so I just had to find something else.
Delicious food, friendly staff, nice portions, and moderate prices. Great place to eat and also shop.
I can't give this enough stars. Every time i order, its out sooner than expected, and tastes absolutely perfect. The whole crew that works there are very polite and make my day much better after leaving.
Best family ever runs this gem, best pitas, and hummus in the whole world! Chicken shawarma EVERYDAY! My kids eat every single bite of these generous helpings, and food should make you this happy everywhere
One of, if not my absolute favorite restaurant in ABQ. I feel like every time I go, which is at LEAST once a month, I enter someone's home. The owners are always working hard and the wait staff is always cracking jokes and in a good mood. Every time I go I also try to order something different and I am never disappointed! All the food is cooked wonderfully and is so flavorful. The prices are very good as well and I always feel like I get so much great amazing food for my money, especially when compared to more popular restaurants in ABQ. I've never had a bad meal or a bad time here.
Their in-store market is also very nice. My favorite thing to buy is their spice packs so I can spice up my own cooking at home. And I never ever forget to get my baklava to go. Thank you Alquds!
The food here is sooo good and the service is great. Really delicious hummus and lamb; even their olive oil is high quality. Their pita is uniquely fluffy and wonderful, I've never had anything like it anywhere else. There is also a small grocery section with mainly Middle Eastern foods at decent prices.
Another hidden gem located in the heart of Albuquerque. It was once a bank and now it is home to an Eastern market and eatery. The ambience is mediocre, but the owners are fantastic. If you eat there a few times you'll probably get to experience the unique sense of humor. Places like this make being a foodie fun and worthwhile. I forget the exact name for the Mediterranean coffee is outstanding.
Great authentic Mediterranean food. Go there for the food. Good portions, good selection. Well prepared. Sometimes a little understaffed but you wont go home hungry. Good value and the best hummus ever. There is also a grocery stocked with fresh Mediterranean food. Get some Tabule to take home. They make the best. We do lunch there regularly. This place is about the food, not the ambiance.
This wonderful restaurant fed the ICU nurses and staff at SRMC and it was AMAZING! I had a gyro and a super fresh salad with a vinaigrette that was delicious. Thank you so much for your generosity and support ❤ I will return again and again, it was sooooo good. The hummus and pita bread was super fresh and tasty too. Highly recommend!
Another edit: still amazing, finally went back after quarantine era and service is better than ever. Food same high quality, prices still decent!!! Thank you Al Qud’s.
Amazing grocery and food!!!! Edit: still good, very good, amazing!!! Its real awesome, it's in an old bank, you just have to check it out, the coffee is very unique, tremendous salads and hummuses. Everything good, great for vegetarians and carnisaurs alike!! Just really check it out if you like middle eastern food, now!!!
I liked this place because they have great Mediterranean food but after calling to place an order for pick up which I have done a few times now the man i spoke to was rude and told me he could not substitute salad instead of rice, even if it cost extra. He was immediately abrupt about it. Weird considering I've done this before with no problem. Did not get a friendly vibe and am unsure if their menu options change depending on who is working. Quick way to lose a customer.
I have been going to San Pedro Mart for many years. The well portioned meals are DELICIOUS and fresh. They have the best homemade pitas and hummus around! I love the home-style atmosphere and of course the family who runs the store/ restaurant always provide friendly and courteous service. I highly recommend San Pedro Mart to any one looking for a great meal or just friendly service while you pick up a few grocery needs. <3 <3 <3
Excellent falafel and other tasty treats
The food here is amazing, I haven't had a single bad item off of the menu. My favorite is the gyro platter with hummus and a tabouli salad. In my opinion, the have the best hummus in town. It is a true hole in the wall, but well worth a stop if you live middle east/Mediterranean food.
They had just about everything here! Got my hands on some great halal gelatin, they had freshly made (delicious) food like falafel, shawarma in different meats, etc. Fresh pitas, everything. People were really chill and super nice. Definitely authentic.
I love the food there, it is amazing. Every time we go there, the food always taste great. Quality doesn't go down. Portions are on the big side (love it). Prices are fair. Atmosphere is tranquil. Would definitely recommend.
Delicious food! The mint tea was especially tasty, served with real mint leaves as relish. I got the chicken shawarma and the pitas were soft as pillows in my mouth as I bit into them. It was a most gratifying meal to eat.
I have been eating here regularly since moving to ABQ last summer. It is simply amazing. If they had only the hummus on the menu, I would still come. But the rest of the food-lamb shawarma is unbelievable- is just as delectable. From their fresh pitas to authentic salads that put $5-6 "side salads" at upscale restaurants to shame, this place sets the bar quite high. The excellent service and the fact that I get out for well under $20 with tip every time is icing on the cake.
Had lunch today, and it was magnificent! The food is fresh and is of excellent quality. Staff is attentive. The restaurant adjoins a grocery, but the dining area is separated by a glass wall which provides a decent sound barrier. My wife and I split a Kibbeh appetizer which came with two sauces. The kibbeh was delish, a light wheat coating and a savory beef filling. My wife and I both ordered a platter with humus, I got lamb shawarma, my wife choose chicken shawarma. The platters come with a salad, we both got Greek salads and they were excellent! Fresh lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. The salads were topped with feta and came with a creamy dressing. The platters were as good as the salads. Fresh, in house, pita went nicely with a tasty hummus and a melt in your mouth shawarma. Lunch was finished off with baklava and thick Arabian coffee completed a wonderful lunch!
After reading all the good reviews for this place, we decided to try it out. I've never had Middle Eastern cuisine before, so I can't attest to any cultural authenticity. I can, however, say that it was incredibly delicious. I had the lamb shawarma and my girlfriend had the beef shawarma. The pita bread is soft and tastes amazing. The meat was very tender with great flavor. The service was excellent as well. I'm glad we tried this place, and we'll be back to try more.
Great new location. The food and the staff are as excellent as they've always been. I have yet to find anything on the menu that I haven't liked, plus the little grocery section has some great stuff too!
Alquds was super fun. The young men running the place were lively and friendly. We found some good stuff browsing their groceries. We did sit down to eat as well but I can't rave too much about the food. It was ever so slightly sub-par middle eastern food. Not bad, just nothing to rave about. For just a few more dollars, Pars or Chello would be more satisfying.
Very good food, was shown this place by a friend and have visited monthly since. The lamb schawarma and hummus is great; add the pita bread and its amazing. My wife and I love the atmosphere; the chef is very friendly and talks with us every time we visit.
Absolutely hands down the best service in Albuquerque. The food is also amazing! This place makes upscale places look like child's play... I wish more Albuquerque restaurant owners acted like this place. A+ and keep up the amazing job!
Best gyros in town. I love their French fries. It’s a really neat hole in the wall that also sells groceries from different parts of the world. Definitely a gem with great service and delicious food.
If you like Mediterranean food, this is the place to go in Albuquerque. I love it here!
Ive been to the Middle East many times and this food is authentic and delicious. My only wish is that they would also have a restaurant on the west side! Favorite place
Absolutely wonderful experience. Great ambience, freshly prepared food, the freshly baked pitas are to die for! I could live off of this everyday. The fact that the menu is a healthy one is a bonus! My tummy is happily full!
Thank you very much for your excellent food and wonderful human kindness. I have been eating at Alquds ever since they opened and I am a regular for years now. I highly recommend the falafel deluxe sandwich for vegetarians which I get every time. I hope that Alquds is here to stay in Burque because I love that falafel, I love the pita, and I love the hummus. I'm laughing to myself right now because I remember once I hung out there with my friends in the booth for 4 hours one afternoon! Obviously I love it there. Thank you very much from your loyal customer!
This place is amazing. Food is wonderful and well priced. Service is awsome. Family owned and the family is great. I've been coming here since I heard about in the avengers 8 years ago and love it every time. The brothers are always fun and kind. The father/owner always has a smile and a kind word. I could eat here evryday.
Amazing Palestinian food. Good service. We got the Gyro, beef shawarma, dolmas, hummus, and mint tea. Everything was delicious. They make their own hummus every day. Great grocery store. Halal meats available.
Chicken Shawarma Plate is sooooo good! Comes with nicely seasoned chicken, rice and a salad. I love the Greek salad!! Be sure to get a side of hummus and pita too! Very inexpensive and service is quick! They are super efficient and food is always consistent. The other side of the restaurant is a mini market too!
I've been to almost all the Mediterranean places in Albuquerque and Alquds is my favorite. All their food is full of flavor, authentic and large portions for the price.
The lamb shwarma sandwich here might be responsible for ending my existential crisis. The food here is divine, all of it. The pickles are crisp, the humus is smooth and deliciously balanced. Gyros are delicious and a great place to start, but if you like lamb, the lamb shwarma sandwich here just might make you see G-d. I love it here. The service is friendly too. Keep an eye out for the new location.
Hands down some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had! My husband ordered the deluxe falafel sandwich combo. It came with tabbouli salad and hummus on it. The combo includes fries and a drink. My husband had the mint iced tea which he loved. The falafel sandwich was the best he has ever had. I tried it and have to agree. And we have had a lot of falafel sandwiches over the years! ;) I ordered the vegetarian combo platter. It came with falafel, hummus, pita bread, baba ghanouge, and tabbouli salad. I'm not usually a fan of tabbouli but theirs was so good I almost finished it! The mint was so fresh and delicious but it didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. Perfect! The falafel was amazing! My only complaint was that there were only two pieces! It was so good I wanted more! The hummus was perfection! So creamy and with the perfect amount of paprika and olive oil. Then there's the pita bread. You could tell they made it fresh. It was so good we bought a pack of 6 when we left! The service was also wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back!
Hidden gem. Don't be put off by the exterior - the food and the service are excellent. We generally order take-out of various entrees and then share it family style, but eating in the restaurant is very nice too. The clientele is generally different than the surrounding WASP-y neighborhoods and this is a good thing as you wouldn't expect to find something with this authenticity outside of the International District.
I have been going to Alquds for upwards of 4 years now. They have never disappointed. Their food is delicious and reliable, their pitas are like little clouds of goodness and their service is polite and attentive. Before you go a big chain restaurant, give Alquds a try!
Amazing food, service and grocery store
Very casual. Chill vibe. Cute waiters, poor service. But the food is high quality yet simple. And the fresh hot pita are phenomenal. Will be returning!
I found my new favorite gyros place in ABQ! I've also tried their Greek salad, dolmas, falafel and mint iced tea. Everything I have tried is good. Not expensive at all. Right next to my favorite Burger place; Rex's
Love their specials. Get a sandwich, fries, drink, and dessert for around $10. Usually have gyro or kebabs but never had anything i didn't like. Their salads, hummus, french fries, and pitas yummy.
I've been a big fan of this restaurant for 6+ years (most of that time they had their old location across Montgomery from where they are now). It is probably my favorite middle eastern food in town. It's sort of a hole in the wall and always has been - it's not pretty or fancy. But it's not noisy or bothersome, and the staff (all family, I think), are FANTASTIC (love those guys). The food itself is very good.
If you are vegetarian (or not!), I highly recommend the falafel deluxe sandwich. It is a FANTASTIC value (something like 6 dollars); a complete meal in itself, and a great sampling of what this restaurant has to offer: great falafel, hummus, and tabouli salad, stuffed into fresh pita bread. Very filling and tasty.
I also enjoy their ful mudammas, dolmas, and various salads - but that sandwich is where it's at! I skip on the platters; just not as great a value.
One of our most favored places to eat in Albuquerque. We've never had a negative experience here. Their pita are out of this world, btw. Fortunately, we've been able to introduce friends, family and co-workers to this place and made converts of them. The small grocery there is equally awesome. I've actually been able to find a few things here that were unavailable at the other international markets in town. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Go there and order all the things!
The lamb shawarma was tasty, tabbouli salad so fresh and flavorful, the pita soft and the perfect size. Service great. This is now one of my carry out faves.
Food is fantastic and the proprietor is a really nice guy. The seating and temperatures could be better, but it's converted from an old convenience store! Never would have tried it in a million years based upon how it looks from the outside. Give it a chance :)
Not sure why it took me so long to hear about Al-Qud's, but rather than bemoan the significant amount of time I hadn't known about the best Falafel in 'Burque, I'll just make up for lost time by visiting more frequently.
The little restaurannt/market on the corner of a strip mall isn't the most elegant of eateries, and that's reflected in very reasonable prices. What this little divey gem lacks in pretension, though, it more than makes up in flavor (double-win in my book). I'm not exaggerating about my statement on the falafel. They pack more savory flavor, (and just a hint of pungent kick) into every little sausage-shaped falafel than any other place we've tried the tasty chick-pea treats.
Surprisingly, though, those great balls of wonder are only number 3 on my list of favorites at Al-Qud's. Number 2 is the Lamb Shawarma (we get the platter with Hummus), and number 1 is the Baba Ghanough. The shawarma is brimming with the essential lambiness of good lamb, enhanced rather than masked by the spicing. The eggplants in the Baba Ghanough are roasted in such a way that the smokiness suffuses every last super creamy bite! I can't emphasize enough how amazing this place really is!
This place is simple and delicious. They have the best falafels I’ve ever tried. The family is super nice and the place looks and smells clean! If you like food, eating here is a must!
It was good. Decent prices, good food, and good service. The hummus was very good.
The best Arabic food in town! I know real Mideast food and the Authenticity at Al Quds is on point. They are always friendly, always clean, excellent service, wallet friendly prices, great supermarket goods to shop around for, food options for everyone, annnnd last but not least the food is mouth watering good! The veggie extravaganza dish is my favorite, really tasteful falafel, hummus and baba ghanoush. Enjoy! You will not regret it! 😋
I was really surprised that I had not been here before. The food was incredible and the staff is as kind as could be. I highly recommend Alquids when you are craving some good Mediterranean food. Try a couple of the side dishes as well they are incredible.
We got a big to-go order because we live in Rio Rancho and have to stock up on this good food. We loved everything, which is freshly made (tzatziki sauce, hummus, pita bread, tabbouleh, chicken skewers - seasoned beautifully) and bought some tahini and kebab seasoning for meat in the grocery section. We tried this gem of a restaurant, solely based on these good reviews out here. We are very glad we did! The family who owns, cooks, and runs this place are very friendly (and so are the clientele). We will be back!!!
I'm always on the look out for a good Mediterranean food. The dining area is nothing fancy but the food is good quality and fresh. The shop has some great products, too.
Everything they do is completely on point- the pitas are perfect and fluffy, the tabbouleh is refreshing, the hummus is delightful, and the shawarma... don't even get me started. Lamb or beef, it's always tender and well seasoned. Even the falafel, which is dry most other places, is incredible. Definitely make a stop here- it's so worth it.
You know I never been there but every time I pass by there it smells so damn good I am going to try it this month
Super tasty, big portions
I have to agree with many other reviews. They have the best hummus I have ever had, but the naan bread was not what I'm used to or cared for. Wonderful to have the small grocery that has items that are hard to find.
Food is good, service is a little slow. I would recommend even though I wasn't crazy about the thazhiki sauce, which is my favorite part of any Greek/Mediterranean restaurant. This is in a grocery store, so there's a lot of cool import finds
A great western Asian market. The store has a good selection of goods at reasonable prices. You can also pick up prepared foods to take home. A must stop. The kitchen is closed on Sundays.
Best falafel. I am a veggie so can't comment on the meat entrees, but the inside of their falafel almost melts as you eat it. My meat eating friends tell me. that Shawarma is melt-delicious. Tabouli salad is excellent. As well as the Labneh and baba ganoush.
Great grocery too and the sweets are too die for. And if you need cigarettes, they have that too. :). I think the guys are a bit shy and not too pushy so they may come off as aloof but they are actually helpful and knowledgeable on educating you on Mediterranean and Arabic foods. Just ask.
Authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a no nonsense setting aside a small middle eastern grocery. We had Greek salad, falafels, homemade warm pita bread with generous hummus, babaganouh, baklava and bought a box of Turkish delights from the store on our way out. Portions were generous, needed take away box which I rarely request. Based on food and value five-star. Nice Middle Eastern music playing in the background. Pleasant aroma drifting over from spices on the grocery side. Based on ambience a two-star, needed some nonsense (like some pictures on the wall or other decor, restaurant was very bare).
Visited on a Monday night. 2 customers in the restaurant 2 waiting for to-go orders. (It was slow).
Waited a while to place a to go order ...ghost town. Finally a guy shows up super nice super friendly.
Ask a couple of questions and place my order.
The food. A
Gyro with tzatziki. A+ Excellent. Pita soft and fresh. Meat perfect. Sauce killer.
Beef kabob. B- Flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Meat was a little on the 'firm' (tough) side but kabobs aren't ribeye I suppose. Chicken kabob. A+ Awesome. Tender juicy great flavor.
Tabouli salad. A
fresh and loaded with flavor.
The service. C+
Ordered 2 kabobs, gyro and salad. Order arrived & asked if it was all in the bag? Yes.
No salad. Profusely apologized said hed get it. Asked for a side of sauce.
Returned with salad no sauce. Didn't want to take a 2nd trip around 'my order isnt right island' and left.
Super nice guys good food ok service
I'll be back! 👍
Recently moving to Albuquerque, I'm not really familiar with the local restaurants, but thanks to Google and Yelp, found this AWESOME restaurant! I'd been looking for a Middle Eastern restaurant that was tasty and not too expensive. And then I came across this gem! Upon pulling up and looking at the outside, I definitely had my reservations, but never judge a book by its cover. I got lamb shawarma (recommended by one of the cooks there) and OMG it was sooooooo good! Lol This huge sandwich came with an order of fries, a slice of baklava, and a drink all for about $10 bucks. The staff is friendly, the food is CRAZY delicious and I will definitely be back soon!
Amazing food great service family-run some of the best food in Albuquerque certainly the falafel in the gyros. But the star of the show is there handcrafted super smooth hummus you cannot lose
Yum yum yummy yum! I just can't with this place. Homemade, fresh, kind people, great prices, lots of food, and my tummyy is so happy.
Food is great. Very cheap for that quality. Call ahead and order so you don’t have to wait.
Bought pita and hummus here. The hummus didn't last a week due to spoilage and the pita were just okay. Mediocre.
Delicious variety of food and very dedicated service.
Seriously good. Alquds is a winner every time I go - delicious hummus, falafel, tabouli, and more. The falafel deluxe sandwich is a gem. And then there's the grocery next door - so worth a stop.
The cafe is amazing. Good selection of Mediterranean groceries too
The food is delicious and the prices are great! I had the chicken Shawarma sandwich w/ a side of pita bread and hummus. All were freshly made and tasted great. I highly recommend this place.
Gyro was great service was fast
The gyros are a thing of beauty. While you're waiting for yours walk the grocery aisles and spend time enjoying the variety of spices and middle eastern canned goods. Menu is extensive enough one could eat here every day.
I think the food is pretty dang good. The one thing I don't like is the pita bread they use..it is way to spongy and bready...Pita should have a toughness to it...thus, I never order the gyros...to bad too..cuz the gyro inside is yummy.
Had them cater a to go order and it was well prepared, ready on time and delicious. Guests loved the food. Should have purchased more pita bread as that went fast and everyone wants more.
We had limited time. Waiter was excellent in suggesting appetizer that would work. Falafel was excellent and timely choice. Will definitely return when we have more time.
Always good tasty food and friendly. The new location has a nicer restaurant portion. Casual atmosphere. I look forward to when they open the outdoor seating area.
If I could eat here everyday I would. This is my favorite restaurant in town and I have to come here anytime I am in Albuquerque. They were excellent back when they were San Pedro mart and the quality is still excellent at the new location.
Nice variety, very well organized and clean.
AKA "the gas station" i go there to eat the lamb, hummus and bread. Good food and fast service. They never disappoint. They also have a small grocery store and can buy fresh peta bread by the half dozen.
Ate the beef and chicken schwarma, and dolmas for an appetizer. Don't be put off by how strange it looks from the outside, all of the food was fantastic. You can really tell the staff takes a great level of pride in their food.
The man working the front was super nice and helpful. Everything I ordered was fresh and delicious. The grocery section was great too. I'll be a regular here.
Amazing food! This family owned and operated restaurant is a true gem in Albuquerque! The chicken tawook is a personal favorite, but everything on the menu is outstanding.
I’ve been eating hummus for... maybe 35 years now? and this is probably the best I’ve ever had or very close. And their baba ghanouj is out of this world. Pure heaven!
The best hummus I've ever had in New Mexico. Really friendly staff and quick service. Make this spot a part of your regular rotation.
A lil slow but worth the wait. Fresh tasty and the baklava's are all tasty. Tried the lamb n hummus plate n loved it. Only complain is the lack of yellow basmati rice
Sooo yummy. 😋 i moved here about 5 years ago and haven't been that impressed by the food around abq but this place is amazing!! Good amount of food for the price too. …
These guys are so freaking great! Always the best service and such amazing food in a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. Couldn't leave anything behind.
It is like I took a trip to the middle east! Every dish is terrific (the home-made hummus, lamb shwarma, and taboulli are GREAT!). They have some booths to sit and eat in (you'll see a LOT of people stopping in for take-out). Yummmmm.
Great food and very generous portions. I've eaten here multiple times and it has always been great.
Amazing food and casual environment.
Not your traditional restaurant as this establishment is in or adjacent to a grocery store. Food is always plentiful and good. Staff are friendly and professional. It is a regular stop when I want a gyro salad!
This is easily our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Albuquerque. While the shawarma meat & kabobs are great, the vegetarian extravagana is the best because it includes their amazing falafel & hummus with baba ganoush, taboili, dolmas and rice, which are all also delicious. Even though we make our way around Albuquerque eating at various places, we always make time to stop by Alquds at least once a month, if not more. Be sure to come by Alquds if you are interested in enjoying a nice casual lunch or dinner with great service and delicious Mediterranean food.
Great food and service! Best shawarma! I'll be back for sure
This quality and flavor is consistently awesome! Simply bomb if you like Mediterranean food!
Having lived in the Middle East for several years, Alquds is authentic, excellent food at a good price with excellent service.
The grocery is like the ones I remember in the Middle East. They have most anything you would like at a good price.
One of the best places in Albuquerque to get lunch, the Mediterranean food is delicious and healthy. The family that operates it offers genuine hospitality that makes you feel like you're visiting their home. After eating you should visit their little market. You'll find groceries and spices that you can't find anywhere else in Albuquerque. Try the feta.
I had the Gyro plate, it was excellent and a lot of food! I will be back and recommend you try this place! Their salads are very good very fresh and full of flavor!
This is the best middle Eastern food in town. They're coffee and baklava are delicious too and they're family owned. Awesome place.
Love this place! Some of the best food and coffee in town! Staff is great too!
I love this place because of the dedicated people running it, and the incredible food they produce. No pork or alcohol, and hallal products. I am not Muslim, but I have immense respect for their ancient food practices and results! These recipes are from one of the early origins of the historical global hierarchy of preparing food, and I find it fascinating that even today, using the same practices, these guys are able to deliver a supple, moist piece of meat that is charred with incredible flavor on the outside. It is a cool trick. Try it. You'll more than likely make a charcoal briquette. Most of Europe did for a very long time. Makes me want to get a heaping plate of lamb or chicken with tombuli just thinking about it. I highly recommend the peppermint tea, hot or cold. Interesting effect...in hot or cold weather, or if you're stressed (!).
Excellent food at a great price!! Al-Qud’s is a perfect lunch spot. Plus, they have the best falafel I have ever tried.
If you havent been here before. You must go. Go for lunch. Go for dinner. Go see the lovely guys who work there and taste the awesome food. Stop procrastinating. Next time you drive near Al Quds dont think "I should try that place someday ". Be a go getter, and go get that falafel.
We had a great experience there! The service was attentive and polite. Food was great and it was wonderful to peruse through the store for hard to find items. Great value!
Good food especially the hummus. Good sized portions. Good service.
Friendly service and willingness to help with food allergies.
The food was made fresh to order and I'm always pleased when I eat here.
My family and I feel welcomed.
Best food in town. Outshines sahara. This place is very professional and always has the food on point. Never a dull moment at this restaurant. Recommend 10/10
Great service, amazing food, fair prices, good portions. Everything is fresh and delicious. The market is also great.
I brought my aunt and uncle (who lived in Gaza for a few years when they first got married) and they said that Alquds has better, more authentic, middle eastern food than anywhere in the whole state of Oklahoma where they live.
Excellent food. Do yourself a favor and stop by.
Best Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food I've had. The portions are also huge so you leave full and satisfied.
One of the best Mediterranean/mid eastern joints in Albuquerque! Everything is great here I would recommend the tawook, shawarma, baba ghanoush, tabouleh, lebneh!
Very clean and nice selection of foods from other countries. The baklava is awesome!!
Love this place... Such nice people too! We spilled our to go container on the way out and they gave us a whole new container loaded with what we dropped. Great prices and grocery selection, too!
Place: Simple and elegant
Cleanest: very clean tables and chairs
Service:very fast
Food : Great Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes with a special touch in cooking
Beverage:Hot drinks like Tea with Mint and Turkish coffee ☕️ are phenomenal Cold drinks they even add fresh mint to ice tea and all soft drinks less price than store.

If I visit Albuquerque one day again I will for sure go to this remarkable restaurant again
Lamb Shawarma!!! Heavenly. Best with tabbouleh and Hummus or Baba ganoush.... Highly Recommended!! New location with restaurant and Super Market. It's too hard to pass up on the Turkish Delights!!!
Wonderful food. Great service. Thank you.
Best middle eastern food in Albuquerque hands down! Great service, large portions, and great value overall. HIGHLY recommend!
My first time here. I was blown away by the quality of the food and the service... First meal out for the new year and it said a great tone.
Easily my favorite restaurant in Albuquerque! The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and everyone who works there will go out of their way to help you!
Excellent friendly service. Delisious food. Great menu options.
A grocery area where you can buy & take home Mediterranean foods.
Good food, friendly people and great service. I have shopped and eaten there as long as they have been in business. Best Middle Eastern food in Abq.

Friendly service and great food. I definitely plan to come back soon.
Made a pit-stop for lunch on the way to Texas. Good food. Great courtious service.
Best Middle Easter food in the whole state, plus they have a grocery store with all traditional foods and middle eastern pastry dough. Truly a blessing to have!!
Great restaurant and grocery store
Everything here was awesome! We were in town for two days and came back to eat a second time. Fast and friendly service!

So many veg options, and excellent platters!! Really delicious and filling. A solid choice for lunch or dinner !
Excellent Greek food for a great value. An absolute must if you are craving Greek food.
Always fantastic. I have never had a bad or even so-so meal here. Lamb Shwarma is my favorite.
These are great people who make great food. Have always treated me perfectly. Highly recommend for the food and service.
What you'll find here is delicious food and courteous staff. If you dine-in the surroundings are simple, but the food is awesome.
Has a very large variety of ethnic products. If you need it, they probably will have it
Great food and store. Friendly service.
This place is so authentic! The food tastes so different and good. I love it!
Wonderful place to buy good food from the Middle East and very nice people.
Family owned business. Very yummy food. Super friendly staff and I would recommend them to my friends too!
By far the best Gyro I've had in town, skip Pars and Olympia Cafe, Alquds beats their price and certainly their flavor.
Great food, recommend highly
Chicken tawook and lamb sandwiches for take out. Ordered on site, quick service. Food was great.
Interesting Mediterranean and Arabic food. Good service. Could use air conditioning but great little restaurant. Schwarma.
Tasty authentic Mediterranean dining. Generous portions, fine service. When we have visitors we will take them here.
Between this place and Cafe Istanbul, this is the best Middle Eastern food in town, absolutely delicious, the best hummus I've ever had too!!
Great service and food! Took a bag of freshly made pita home with hummus. Soo good!
Love this place. Great service, food is outstanding and authentic. Shop there as well. Always helpful staff.

Thank you so much Amjad. The detour on the way to Phoenix to stop by was totally worth it. Thank you for the food and good luck.
I have tried three different dishes and was not disappointed. The food is very tasty.
Best middle eastern food in ABQ. Not the most
amazing atmosphere,, since it’s inside a grocery stor,e, but quality food!
Really wonderfully priced! And the food is great! It's my new go go for Mediterranean.
This is a place that Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives needs to feature on their show. The food is AMAZING, fresh and authentic.

Fantastic service. Excellent food. Great prices. This is an awesome gem of a restaurant.
This place is a hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the plain exterior. The restaurant in here is great
Unassuming location, but delicious chicken shwarma and other middle eastern delights. Don't let the fact that it's in an old gas station scare you off.
Interesting foods. It was my first time and I had the Beef Shawarma sandwich and it actually tastes so good.
Ate a very nice early supper here recently. The food was excellent and vibe is definitely very low-key.
Shwarma, barba ganoush, and hummus was good. Falafel were decent, but nothing special.
Great food! Really some of the best in NM. Friendly family and nice market.
Acceptable place. The food is good but their customers service is really bad. You feel unwolcomed.
Alquds always has good food, simply presented but flavorful. Great baba ghanoush!
