Reviews of 66 Diner

Very busy little spot with great service, ambiance, and food! A group of 7 of us went on a Friday at 12:30pm and had to wait about 20 minutes then were seated in the back room that looks like an old garage. Super cool decor! Our waitress was Sara and she was fantastic, just loved her!! We ordered chicken nuggets for the kids, a various selection of burgers, a hot ham and cheese sandwich, a meatloaf sandwich, and the turkey sandwich along with fried okra as an appetizer. Everything was delicious! The turkey sandwich was not what I expected but tasted amazing, I would definitely get it again. It was shaved turkey with Swiss cheese and green chilis on toasted TX toast - YUM! The fries were crispy. No complaints from our table 😋

This is absolutely a great diner, one of the best where we have stopped during our trip on Route 66! The food was not pre-cooked but was made fresh at our order and the cheeseburger, onion rings and okra were awesome!
Inside the diner you get a real atmosphere of the '50s, with retro sofas, chairs, tables and counter...looks to be back in the old days!
In a side room, there is a great collection of motor-memorabilia, definitively to check out during your lunch break!
Parking lot outside the diner is spacious.
Highly recommended!

This place was fun to check out! It was neat to go to a historic Route 66 restaurant. The vibe is really cool, with the retro features and neon lighting, etc. Our meals were pretty tasty, and the kids really enjoyed their shakes. We ended up getting there later and the staff was friendly about us staying past closing time, which was appreciated after our drive.

Absolutely loved this place! Proper, authentic old school American Diner.
Huge portions, great milkshakes and amazing desserts.
The staff were amazing. Taylor and Mani were great to talk to and we watched them making the desserts.

Mom took me here for breakfast one morning. Boy! I'm amazed I had the New Mexican omelet, the bell peppers in that omelet is amazing! There is a choice of red or green chili, I got the green. I can not emphasis enough how delicious the breakfast is here! Tastes like home cooking! Very good food, highly recommend. You got to try this place! My rye toast was highly satisfying. I'm definitely going back to try other items on menu.

We enjoyed our meal here. Very classic American restaurant with great burgers and milk shakes. I like strawberry milk shake the best, the chocolate one is a bit too sweet and the vanilla one is not very strong flavored. Service is great.

A really fun stop, especially if you're a Route 66 enthusiast. The diner has been created out of an old gas station. Fun mid-century vibe, clean as a whistle, and very friendly service. We had a special grilled cheese sandwich for lunch that was one of the best we've ever had.
Kari Childs
Food was excellent! Extra large portions and absolutely delicious! Try the Pile Up or Fender Bender (that's half of a Pile Up and I couldn't finish it all) if you like green chiles and some heat. The seasonal special Pumpkin milkshake was like drinking a pumpkin pie. Chocolate covered strawberry shake lived up to its name too. Half size of those was plenty too. Best chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken I have had since my grandma made me some. The service was outstanding too.
The atmosphere is fun too! Lots to look at. Elvis history and Pez dispenser galore. Fun for young and old alike. Watch a movie like Cars or Back to the Future or Karate Kid with your kids and then take them here to experience the drive in diner vibe and some great food. Don't snack first - they won'tbe able to eat it all!! If doing a Rt 66 site seeing trip, definitely put this on your list. The area of town around it is lit in neon at dark. So neat!
We will make this a regular stop on trips to ABQ from now on. Highly recommend!

First time I’ve ever heard of smothered burgers. Let me tell you something… the southwest burger smothered in queso and green chiles was a route to heaven. The chili cheese fries were also good. Of course it wouldn’t be a blast to the past without some pie. The chocolate crème pie was a perfect finish to a great dining experience. My friend had the strawberry ice cream and he has nothing but positive things to say as well. Let him tell it. Shout out to our beautiful server Julia for the great service. If I ever come back to the ABQ Im definitely revisiting this place.

Was driving through town and wanted to check this place out and it was a good idea that we stopped by. I really liked the old school diner vibe of the restaurant. I ordered the 66 burger with potato salad and it was amazing. The waitress and the other staff were very professional. I really liked how they had pez dispenser for decoration. They also sold some and gave some extra pez to my daughter. Thank you!

Food was amazing...truly old school diner. Had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. Mashed potatoes were real not rehydrate from a box veggies were well seasoned. Delicious! My sister had the 66 burger *chefskiss super flavorful . Had the Pina colada shake honestly the best shake I've had. Super thick and yummy. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Also servers were so sweet and attentive.
Taniesha Bracken
Wait staff was very friendly. We were waiting a really long time for our food and they gave us free dessert. The appetizer that's fries with green chili and cheese was super good and fresh. I ordered the open face green chili and cheese burger and a side of cream of green chili soup. The burger was dry and not seasoned well. The bun was very dry and almost crumbly. Fries were not as fresh tasting as the app. Soup was average. We got the coconut cream pie and carrot cake for dessert. Those were both super yummy. Cool place with a fun vibe. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Would try again.
Dirk Waldrop
Wait staff was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and she did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food was okay at best. Nothing terribly special here. Maybe we caught them on a bad afternoon? About 5:30 the place started filling up with people from all walks of life. The ambiance was great, as was the impressive collection of Pez dispensers! Don’t go out of your way for this neat little diner but do stop by if you’re in the area.
Jennifer Duong
Must get the shake! It's got a great density and creaminess to it. The pileup is not meant for one person unless you're starving and need as much volume you can get. We took the leftovers and it fed the two of us for breakfast lol. Burger and fries met my expectations, but I wish the bread was a bit toastier. Super cool vibes, and a fun place to eat!
REBECCA “SMILY5200” WILHELMSEN
This place is in Albuquerque New Mexico its a iconic restaurant. The food is so good! The best milkshakes and banana splits.
Fabian Torres
Haven't eaten food there in a min but I remember it being good. Was there for the shakes! Awesome assortment of flavors and combos...wanted to sit at the counter but they had closed signs on it. But still overall good experience and great shakes.
Brandon Steward
Come for the experience. The service here was top-rate excellent. The food was pretty good. Onion rings and my fried chicken sandwich were a little overcooked for my taste, but my wife's grilled chicken sandwich was excellent. While eating, we enjoyed the appropriately themed decor and music from the 60s. The music was a little loud, but not overbearing. While it's not cheap to eat here, I do recommend it.
Jenna Hershberger Stilwell
This is one of my husband's and my favorite places to eat in ABQ. Every time people visit us, we take them here. As everyone else says, the ice cream is incredible. In fact, I've never tasted a better milkshake - favorite flavors are Tom's Pink Cadillac and the Grasshopper. Be prepared to share, because their ice cream servings are huge!
The atmosphere is lots of fun, and the waitstaff always polite and friendly.
Angela O.
We had a fun experience here. It's nice to take in all the decorations and enjoy the diner vibe. Our burger and shake were both delicious!
Brenda Ly
UPDATE: Blueberry cobbler is the bomb!! Homemade with real blueberries. Highly recommend. Must try with extra scoop or two of vanilla ice cream!
We went on a Sunday for lunch around noon. Thankfully it wasn’t packed like others were saying. It was clean and service was great. Prices were reasonable and food is good but not spectacular. I got the fender bender which is good but maybe too much potatoes for my liking. Bf got 66 burger with chili fries. He said burger and fries are decent. I def recommend getting their shakes even though it seems slightly pricy but you get a good amount. I left with blueberry cobbler to go (not yet eaten at time of this review). Cute diner with yummy shakes.
Jessica Ford
This little place is super cute a classic for sure. It is also an amazing place to take photos of you and the family as to remember your special time together at this charming little location.
Matthew Rosetta
This place is very comfortable and welcoming. The food is very delicious and well prepared. The shakes are a must try. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be a repeat customer.
Lee Bowden
It doesn’t get more classic than this! From the PEZ collection to the authentic Coca-Cola decor, this diner is like walking backwards in time to a bygone era in American history.
I order the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and French fries. Cooked to perfection, crispy and smothered in gravy, it was a delicious and traditional diner meal! I followed it up with the caramel apple shake that reminded me of a home cooked apple pie.
Service was fast and attentive with very little wait to get a table. I’ll definitely be back again!
Crystal Stockbridge
Very cute atmosphere, food was decent but was very expensive. I believe we both got burgers and an appetizer and it was over or around $50. Crazy for a diner, but if you want the old school vibe it’s great for that
Sandra Jones
Love this place! 1950s decor and good food. The pies and desserts are awesome. Staff are all very nice.
AD
After a highly recommendation a friend gave me of this place I knew I had to tried with my family. We were a table of 5 and the waiting time was no more than 5 minutes and they were very accommodating. The waitress was very friendly and she even got.out shakes to go because we were so full. The entrees are very delicious and the route 66 green chile hamburger is a must. The steak dish is also a must. Children's hamburger are as big as adult size burgers. The atmosphere and setting was very 60's style. I'm giving this a 4/5 because table are close to each other that we could smell someone's else flatulence and knew it was time to go. The ladies restroom were dirty and disappointing. However, otherwise great good and wonderful staff.

It was ok, the milk shakes were delicious! I got a green chile cheese burger, if it weren't for the green chiles i probably would've just eaten the fries and the shake. It was a pretty bland charred burger patty. The chili cheese fries were great.
Helen Wesley
Always one of my favorite places. They have the best shakes with a large variety of flavors. I've never been dissatisfied with the dishes I've tried. love the decor as well. They have THE BEST Pez collection ever!! A definite thumbs up for this place!
Debbi English
It's a diner, and a damn good one. Best shakes I've ever had (get The Elvis!) and the service is top-notch with a smile! Love (lovelovelove) that they offer the Beyond Burger patty (vegetarian/vegan) at no extra charge which is practically unheard of at most restaurants. Great place!!
Connie Gill
They were very busy but took time to take a picture, explain food and with a smile. Food was very good and cutest decor. Plenty of seating counter, booths and tables
Deborah Gonzales
The food wasn't up to its usual standard, maybe because we arrived shortly after opening. I used to eat here frequently when I worked downtown. Hubby had the steak ranchero, he said it was just okay. I had the Swiss and mushroom burger which was good, but they sure have changed up their potato salad! It used to be delicious, tasted just like my homemade potato salad. Now it tastes like that what you get out of the tub at the grocery store. I was so disappointed. The fried zucchini was very good.
Oana Sparklin
Food was good and our server was awesome! Definitely a place to go and sit down for a meal.
Dawn Wang
No disappointments! Absolutely charming!! Sweet service and they were slammed! Food was great! Employees were over the top kind!
Thank you all! Can't wait to return!
Melody Barton
Delicious comfort food!! I had the Green Chili Stew and the pork was so moist and tender! They serve with a warm soft flour tortilla. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive to us. I wish that I lived in Albuquerque so I could frequent this restaurant.

Pleasant meal; everything was great. Polite, fast service and good food. I LOVED my malt shake. I will add this restaurant to my regular route.
* good burger/onion rings...really fresh
* about 2 1/2 malts in that container; there was plenty for the price
Laura Haney
We just had dessert but it was great. Staff very nice.
Suzanne Malafronte
We visited at Christmas 🎄 Eve . For Hit Chocolate on way home. What a great Nostalgic atmosphere. Like stepping into a time warp to fifties. Waitresses in caps and turquoise uniforms. 50 ish signs all over. Booths. Definitely worth a visit. Hit choc was creamy good
Elizabeth Williamson
Nice retro diner, we stopped while traveling. Prices were average, food was good & waitress was nice. There's tones of cool vintage stuff on the walls. Would stop again & eat when we travel.
Brigitte Reyna
It is a very aesthetic place to eat. The malts were the best we had. The dreamsicle is pretty good. But keep an eye on the shake of the month. (You can make your own combinations too)
The fries were delicious and little spicy. Highly recommended. The chicken steak was pretty good too, crunchy outside and soft inside. it comes with fried okra and a vey soft butter bun.
I got to say that I expected more of the food. The hamburgers are frozen patties. I was expecting for homemade food.
They do not have ecofriendly to go containers so be mindful and bring your own. Hopefully they switch for better ecofriendly options soon.
I think it’s worth one visit if you are visiting or if you have kids. Definitely plan an outfit haha for pictures purposes. And try as many malt as you can. 🥤
Extra points for being pet friendly! Hope to see more business allowing them🖤
Andres Jasso
Great nostalgic atmosphere, the staff was super friendly and very attentive. We love this type of service.
The spicy Hamburger was delicious and the brownie sundae was my sons favorite.
Definitely recommend this as a stop on Route 66.
Lawrence Encinias
One of the best places in town to get a delicious burger & any choice of shake. Their whole menu looks very appetizing yummy. You'll feel like your living in the 50's coming here!
Scott McLaughlin
A trip back in time, that still has modern day sensibilities. And they have malt shakes and can make it "heavy on the malt". Kids will like it. Grandpa will like it. Just a fun place. Great service.
Sara Nold
This place had a great atmosphere. When we pulled in we were excited by the old diner style looking building. Around the building had a lot of old signs as well which made for a great photo opportunity. The interior design had a nostalgic vibe and there were many pez and giant pez lining the walls. Inside we were greeted by friendly staff. The wait time to be seated was not long at all for it being lunch time, less than 5 minutes. Masks are highly encouraged when not at your table. Efforts were made to maintain social distancing, about every other table was marked not available. Our waitress, Summer was really friendly and attentive to our needs even though she had several new tables all sit down at the same time. We ordered the BBQ Bacon & Cheddar Burger with Cheddar Fries and the 66 Burger with Fries, both burgers were ordered without onions and medium well. Both meals were $12.99 with the exception that we paid $2 more to upgrade one to the Cheddar Fries. If ordering here again, we would not upgrade to the Cheddar Fries because it was not a huge taste difference for us and we did not feel like the amount of cheese added to the fries was worth $2. While on the topic of fries, they were just OK, they were soft on the inside but lacked a crispy outside. Due to the lack of crispiness, almost half of the fries were soggy and floppy. The BBQ Bacon & Cheddar Burger was good, however for someone that likes BBQ sauce I was left wondering where the BBQ sauce was. The BBQ sauce was good, however there was so little of it that you could barely taste it. The cheddar on the burger didn't stand out at all so it must have been a very mild cheddar. The 66 Burger was in its own little highlighted box on the menu and we chose to order this burger because it's iconic name and the way it stood out on the menu. The bun was nice and soft, the patty seemed thin and underwhelming in flavor, the tomato and lettuce did not seem super fresh at all, the pickles were overly sharp in their tartness and consistently overwhelmed the flavor of the burger, and the green chille peppers were good if you like chille peppers however if you are not used to them prepare for a slight bite and food sweats. I would not get the 66 Burger again. Overall, I feel the quality of the food was somewhere halfway between Mc Donald's and Red Robins. Ultimately, there was friendly staff and a nice environment and it was an enjoyable experience but I feel like this is a place I would only eat at once for the experience as there are so many other eating establishments nearby and for the price of the food the taste did not come close to expectations.
Steven Hewett
The 66 burger is amazing and the shakes were made right behind the counter. The banana split looked like a meal by itself. You get ALL of the shake, not just the glass they start you with.
kaitlyn couch
Amazing staff, I just moved from Texas and everyone was so friendly.
This was the first place my sister took me to.
Food was great. Can't wait to go again
Amanda Howland
My boyfriend and I love this place. We usually get chicken fried chicken and the meatloaf. Of course, the hubby gets a shake, in which they have many choices to choose from. Highly recommend a really cool atmosphere.
Deb Clif
Fabulous diner! You must get a shake, it was the best I ever had. Portions of food was very generous and the price was right. We had everything from burgers, to dumplings, to salads and it was perfect. The decor was fun and the waitress was very pleasant. Great stop along old Route 66!
Lisa Garza
We love eating at 66 Diner. They make the best milkshakes in town. Their green chili is very tasty and they have a nice variety on their menu. Try the Pile Up.
S L
So much fun! Service was outstanding. Portions are enormous and the root beer float is delicious! Check out their specials of the day. We loved the experience and even bought some T-shirts to remember it. The food was tasty but I'll opt for a burger next time. I had the chicken fried steak but it was tough. We loved the decorations and jukebox. The music and atmosphere were very cool.
Alan Johnson
Atmosphere and service are great! But the food was only okay (barely). I had cheese fries which were simple, but good, a shake which was good (ok), and a burger which I thought was pretty dry and boring.
jsin roberts
Loved everything about this place. Food 5 ⭐, service 5 ⭐, atmosphere 5 star. Price great, the servers were great, and the food was so tasty. Can't wait to visit next trip to Albuquerque.
Bob Dimond
Good food in a classic setting, very good service,
Andrew Phillips
This is a great nostalgic place to grab a great shake! The "NM Chile" leaves a bit to be desired, closer to something you'd get in central CO than NM, but everything else was great. If it a funky greasy spoon you're looking for this is your place!
Bill Robertson
Decor is top notch; from the signs, pictures, jukebox, posters, pez dispensers, neon, tile work, tables, etc. it all is classic Route 66 throwback in design.
However, that’s where the positive review stops.
I ordered The Pile Up while my mom ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy with Cole Slaw, Mashed Potatoes. The pile up was smothered in a red chile sauce as well as chopped green chiles, two over easy eggs, bacon, potatoes. Could have used some onions, tomatoes, as well as some heat, as it was bland but cooked well. The chicken fried steak was perfectly prepared, but the white gravy was bland, lacked flavor, as well as pepper. The mashed potatoes were cooked from red potatoes, skins left on, blended into the mash, which is perfect for my taste as well as my mom, but they were also topped with the white gravy which was bland. The cold slaw served was just plain nasty, did not look fresh, had a pink color to it and a funky taste that my mom picked up on right away, so she did not eat it.
The bathroom could have used some attention, was not clean, but not the worst I’ve ever seen.
I’ll give this place another chance someday if in the area and in the mood but first impression was not impressive.
S Hallock
I love my experience here every time they exceed expectations every time! friendly inviting lovely environment really cute atmosphere. our food was delicious I ate mine so fast I didn’t even get a picture
Denise
The waitresses all dress up in adorable little 1950s outfits, which would be borderline sexist and not cool if the entire point of the diner was not to be a ‘blast in the past’. The malts/milkshakes are spun in metal tumblers and delivered to the table where they’re meticulously poured in to glass cups. The burgers are large with meat that hangs over the sides of their buns with perfectly melted cheese dripping on the sides. The music will have you singing along as you debate on whether or not you should order that banana split, you should. It’s a cheesy diner that’s worth the visit and the food is actually very good. Don’t forget those cute Route 66 photos!
Erik Harrington
Best diner on central 110% hands down!
Wol Jinju Vinson (Pearl)
I liked the aesthetic of the restaurant. It was very appealing and the theme was adorable, very reminiscent to the 50s and Route 66 ofcourse. A great place for pics inside and outside and the shakes were delicious. The employees were sweet and I would recommend this for a feel good meal.
vanina ivy
Cool diner on Highway 66! They certainly have that diner thing going on. The decorations inside and outside sure were amazing. The staff were helpful and friendly. The slice of pie was definitely crazy big. It's a great place to bring friends and family!
Andrea Moya
We got food pretty quickly and our drinks. Waiting for the waitress to come back to check on us was quite a bit slow. We waited 10 minutes for her to come back and to get out box and to order pies. Key lime pie was okay.
Bill G
Great diner with a wide selection of food including delicious green chile cheeseburgers, pie and milkshakes. We had the Carmel Apple milkshake along with the Route 66 Burger which is a green chile cheeseburger with bacon and served with a side. We are already planning our next trip to try some of the pies. The wall next to the parking lot is covered with old signs and memorabilia making for a great photo opportunity. The restaurant is also fill with old signs, car parts and other antiques like PEZ dispensers.
Alyssa Nichols
We really enjoyed our stop here! The food was yummy and the decor was fun! Our server was very attentive and went above and beyond.
Richard Fischer
I visited this place back in the 90's and I could not wait to come back to enjoy the Route 66 ambiance. If you enjoy Rt. 66 you will love it here. There are signs and memorabilia everywhere. Make sure you take the time to walk around and look at everything, especially the back room. We ordered a burger, fries, onion rings and a mint chocolate chip milkshake. It was like a trip back in time for us. The burgers were excellent, the fries, onion rings were crisp and hot and the milkshake was thick, smooth and tasty. The servers are dressed in period outfits and our server was very young, friendly and helpful. If you come to Albuquerque don't pass this diner up
Veronica Montoya
Perfect diner in every way!! There are so many tidbits of classic dinner hop memorabilia, and it was a fun place that also provided a free birthday meal. 😊 My favorite were all the Pez dispensers (big and small) they have along the top shelves around the restaurant. There's a variety of delicious dinners and it seemed the waitress at the counter never had a break from making shakes. One of the best pit stops I've had along Route 66!!
Manuel Pérez
If you want to taste a burger and shake and experience a 50's diner on historic Route 66 this is the place! The food was perfect, the shake awesome and the place itself is a blast from the past. I didn't live the 50's and I was excited to be there, can't imagine what it feels like for someone who was a teenager when all diners were like this, Elvis was on the radio and the mother of all roads was THE way to travel and socialize.
Gina Duran
Had an amazing dinner for my birthday!! Enjoyed a Diego's Diamond Back Burger with a bite! The Famous burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese & jalapenos!! A pineapple freeze was a perfect dessert!! Great atmosphere and customer service!!
Nick Sayers
Perfect little place to stop for a meal on route 66. The vibe is great and the food is even better. I really loved the 66 burger with green chile. The fried okra was a good starter too. They also have fresh pies everyday so you can get a slice or take one home. Make sure the get pictures outside of this blast from the past too.
deborah castaneda
Stopped to see about the hype, elvis everywhere which i loved! We ordered regular hamburgers and a 66 burger, and milkshakes. Food was delicious however we were dissapointed about the tiny slice of cheese they put on their burgers and how small their shakes were for the price! almost seems like on purpose so you can double up on cheese and pay extra? But food was good and their bbq sauce on point
Brenndon McGill
Waitress gave us great service. The food was on point. I had the Chicken & Dumplings as I recently had a burger. That was one of the best plates of chicken & dumplings I ever had. They also give free refills on it as well. Awesome atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable as well. Also, as a Cadillac lover, I had the Pink Cadillac Shake, which was also amazing. Next time I come out here, I'm stopping here again.
Orchid Ra
We used to enjoy coming here when we lived in New Mexico in 2003. We came back recently on a vacation to visit family and had to drag them into this wonderful restaurant. Our waitress Sarah was fantastic, enthusiastic and happy. The food was fulfilling. You get a lot of food here and The Malt you have to have a malt! And Pie you have to have some pie. It's a definite go to if you're hitting Albuquerque.
william king
The waitress that I had filled our drinks without us even asking. I highly recommend this place the food's great the service is great plus it has that great old school diner feel.
Valerie S
Excellent shakes. Come prepared to share. I'm not a fan of the food but like to visit for a sweet treat every once in a while. Service is always Excellent here. The pink Cadillac is my favorites.
Albert David Guillen
This place is a fun stop and the food is always fresh. I like the:
Pile up
Tacos
Country fried steak
Fender bender
Burgers are pretty good as well.
Owner is good guy lives in the same neighborhood I was raised in. Always good food Tom! :)
Kimberly Leppots
Great spot for classic American food. The vibe of this place is unlike any other place. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. The food in my opinion is a 4 of 5 stars but the shakes and malts are easily at least 10stars!
Doc & Bre On Yonder Roads
Neat place to eat. Sparkling clean. A little pricey, but definitely worth it. Great ambiance. Photogenic if you’re into Route 66. Staff uniformed for the era and our waitress super nice and friendly.
Heather Sanders
Such a fun and nostalgic place. The staff is super friendly and fast! The food is always amazing, and comes out of the kitchen with speed. The menu has some awesome choices and I would come here over an IHOP any day! The pricing is better and the food is....REAL!
Its fun seeing all the stuff on the walls and seeing the history of Route 66.
They have a breakfast menu and lunch menu, plus the best malts! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Keira P
We called ahead because we had a big party and they said no problem. When we got there the two waiters they assigned to our table were very nice. Aside from drinks ordered being forgotten the food was pretty good-there's just not a lot of variety on the menu but it is a diner. The milkshakes are good and they even still make malts. The decor is pretty nostalgic. The bad part was the restrooms. They have a lot of old signs saying clean family approved bathrooms yet the bathrooms are on the same level as gas stations.
Mercedes Jacoby
I just really love this place. Great comfort food, delicious milkshakes, staff is friendly, and decor/ambiance is adorable (love the PEZ dispensers) and nostalgic.
Kim Poulsen
Step in to the atmosphere of the 50's and 60's. We had a tasty milkshake here and there was nothing wrong with it although the presentation was close to zero. A glass and a straw. No umbrella, sprinkles, fireworks. Maybe I should go for a Long Island Ice Tea instead:-)
jason brown
I had a chocolate milkshake and I have to say it was one of the best milkshakes I have ever had. Fried zucchini were perfect and not soggy and Frito pie was fantastic. I hardly ever leave 5 star reviews but this was really good.
Marissa Chavez
Love this place! Even though it was busy, the service was fast and friendly! Our server, Leah was awesome! She didn't let our water go empty and made sure we were satisfied throughout the whole meal. My husband ordered a burger medium rare, and when it wasn't, Leah made sure it was cooked correctly the second time and it came out fast. Great food (yummy shakes) and excellent service!
Joceline Lopez
We try to visit cute diners off of Route 66. We came here specifically for the banana split but ended up also having burgers and enchiladas here. The enchiladas and the beans tasted microwaved but other than that everything else was good.

This was the last place my spouse and I visited together. He loved it here. The shakes were made especially for him! The service was accompanied by the most pleasant attitude, and the food was exactly what he wanted. Thank you for the memory.
LorLob
Excellent stop on the Route 66 journey. Love all the memorabilia! Service was prompt and friendly. Great food.
Emilio Vignapiano
Amazing food. Great and pleasant staff. The best shakes i have ever had. One of my favorite restaurants.
Carol Donlin
Very good food, large portions.
Our server was fantastic with a party of close to 25 people.
Phoenix
A 50s style roadside American dining, super friendly staff. Big portions, they serve sloppy job sandwiches here if you r missing it
The Travelling Friend
Good service, the staff seemed content. Meal was good, meatloaf was ok. Good diner experience. Had a strawberry shake, it was thick, but good.
Lindsay Vicars
Delicious, quick, vegetarian-friendly, and excellent diner vibes. Definitely stop by if you're looking for some classic food with the option of a New Mexico twist
Denise Layne
I love this place. The BEST milkshakes anywhere, and their 66 Burger was awesome! Green chili was the perfect compliment on this burger. The ambiance can't be beat. A fun place all around!
Jessica Haas
The food tasted genuine and delicious! The service was great and friendly. All servers attend to you if they saw that you were in need. Loved the retro look too. I wish more places were like this one.
Porfirio Rosado
2nd time here. Amazing place, delicious food and excellent service. Julia and Darryn are wonderful and sweetest persons. 100% recommended 😍😍😍
Kim Reighley
I took my 3 year old today after the zoo, and he loved this place, it's a cozy place with a fun atmosphere that was a great place to take a kid. Food was fast and delicious, people were friendly, and parking was easy! I have to recommend the green chili cheeseburger!
Romie Miller
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. It's like very good home cooked style. Prices are at the high end of average, but portions are generous. Also, it's the only restaurant I've found in decades that has real malts! The only drawback is that breakfast is served only on weekends.
Amanda Pando
This place is awesome!!! Food was delicious and our waitress was super freaking cool. Thanks for the tasty food and outstanding service.
Caleb Rothe
Oh man, this place was great. We came for the route 66 nostalgia, but were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the meal we enjoyed during our visit. The service was fantastic, the food was tasty, and the environment can't be beat. I'd highly recommend a visit.
Tiffany Morgan
Fun place, loved the 66 Fries, and Deryn was a SUPERB waitress!
Zach Myers
We got our fix...at 66. My wife and I loved this place. The nostalgia is wonderful...music from the 50s and 60s, memorabilia, pink neon lights, subway tile floor, turquoise booths and chairs...everything was perfect. Secondly, the service was stellar. Our sever beamed every time she came to our table and kept asking if everything was fine. Last, but certainly not least, the food was full of surprises despite the simple dishes on the menu. I got a hot meatloaf sandwich which really took me back to my childhood. The fresh coleslaw was some of the best I’ve ever had. My wife couldn’t say enough about the ranch and fries combination. She loved the ranch and I can confirm it was really really good.
This was a great experience on our vacation out west. We will be returning here as soon as we can. Thank you for keeping the spirit of Route 66 alive!
Kathleen Kowalke
Awesome building! So fun to look around! Friendly and helpful staff and food was fantastic! Everything looked good! Hard to choose what to eat!
Andre Moore
The quality of food has declined in the past two years. Convenient location keeps me coming back.
UPDATE: (01 December 2017) The food is great again! The last two visits have been as good as it was 12 years ago when I first moved here. Food was fresh not over cooked and the taste was amazing.
Richard Maxey
This is a great place to eat. There's lots of food on the plate reasonably priced and the folks working here were fun. The food is very good and a lot of nostalgia going on here
Dyan Wilson
We had a lovely waitress-got our food out right away-food was good(as usual). I've never had anything that wasn't yummy from here!!!
Jacob Tidwell
Great atmosphere and very responsive staff. Decor is awesomely nostalgic regardless of your age. The ceiling is lined with Pez dispensers! Classic diner menu. My chicken fried chicken, fried okra, and mashed potatoes were nicely done and The Elvis shake (peanut butter and banana) was a nice final touch. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some local/regional culture instead of national chains.
catherine datte
My new favorite place. Food was absolutely delicious. The setting was fun. All the staff friendly and helpful.
Kirby Diver
Excellent, friendly service. Cleaning establishment. Great and entertaining decor. And most importantly… the food and shakes were delicious as could be. Oh, and PERFECT fries!!
Robert Betchel
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. The Chicken Fried steak was tender, nicely seasoned and smothered in a tasty cream gravy. The mashed potatoes were also very good and cooked country style with skin on and coarsely mashed. The only letdown was a stale and hard dinner roll that was promptly ignored after a single bite. The staff was very friendly and the service was prompt.
Lisa Pizzuto Whittaker
My family visited a few weeks ago while on vacation. This place was recommended to us and we were not disappointed! All 3 generations (70s, 40s, and teen) in our party loved the food, service, and overall atmosphere! Milkshakes - oh yes!!
Jacob Smith
We had a very pleasant meal. It was a kid friendly environment but it would great for a casual date as well. The staff was busy but still found time to be attentive and accurate.
Ryan
Milkshakes here are so good, and my wife loves the Frito pie. Also the decoration and atmosphere are great. Don't forget to stop and get some pictures in front of the route 66 wall out front. This is one of our frequent places to go when we're in this part of town.
Rodney Brasfield
Very good. Had the 66 burger and fries. Was delicious and the whole thing was just right. Not to much or little food. Waitresses were real nice. Highly recommend.
Beth Pounders
Fun spot to eat. Looked like a typical 50s diner. The food was good and the service was good, too. Fun place to bring kids.
No'
extremely good and fast service ! the food is also great.
Steve M
Well we were on a road trip and we decided to swing in with the family… I wish I would’ve taken more pictures of the inside, but it was just one of those days when getting back on the road was a great idea…
Did not get a chance to try their shakes or any of their desserts… But the food was pretty decent… By decent I mean I don’t have any complaints about it, but I would not drive all the way over there just to eat there even if I lived in the city… It is definitely the decour that is the main attraction… At least for me it is…
The waiter was pretty cool, but when I asked him for suggestions, every single thing I said was the choice he would go with… Which ultimately sounded like a used car salesman to me… But whatever… I included a few pictures of the menu so you can get an idea about the dent that will go into your pocketbook… Which isn’t bad in this case… But not enough people post pictures of the menu…
It was a great experience and I’m glad we went… I’m sure we will stop in there again as long as we don’t have to go to far out of our way… But I would definitely go over there just to at least get to take pictures in front of the building and all the signs they have hanging up behind the building..
Romie Miller
I love this place! The food is wonderful, and the portions are generous. I often have a hard time eating everything, and I have to take some home. And, right now it's the only restaurant I know that has malts as well as shakes. Prices are a little higher than average, but not by much, and the quantity and quality of the food makes the prices reasonable.
Marcus Forelius
Cool retro vibe, generous portions, tasty food, and decent prices. We had the green chile cheeseburgers and it was as much as we could eat and more! Get a shake or a malt and indulge!
Nick Naveiras
It’s a fun place with a retro dining atmosphere, and good service, but the food is overpriced. I know inflation has hit hard everywhere, but $15 for a burger or a chicken sandwich is excessive. Many of their sides are an additional $2 charge. Even an ice cream sundae or a shake is $7-8. Part of the original appeal for diners was that it was affordable food. This is not the case at this location.
Illusion Mora
Best fried chicken sandwich I ever had hands down. I just added a pickle on the side yummy .. my family had a great time thanks 😊 …
Daniel Lockwood
Went to the twinkle light parade in 2022 rain was coming down hard and it was freezing, Me, the missus, and the in laws went for dinner, staff was incredibly friendly, food was delicious, got the pile up, and a Pink Cadillac milkshake, the food was delicious and filling and totally made up for getting absolutely soaked beforehand… atmosphere is great, has a very nice diner feel to it and pez dispensers of all kinds line the ceiling, I highly recommend the cherry pie as well!!!
Sarah Romero-Montoya
And then my family so enjoyed the Route 66 Diner. The root beer, floats, malteds and milkshakes are to die for. The New Mexico Nostalgia is a must-see, the foods like eating at your Tia's and Diego (our server) is exceptional.
Kent Taylor
Great shakes, food, service, and atmosphere
Scott
Like a trip back to the 50's/60's. Great food, responsive staff. This stop is worth your time.
J Smith
Cute place was fun watching them make all the shakes from where we were sitting.
Food was okay, had to wait 30 mins for our food and saw people who ordered after us get there.
Christian Carter
Good food and friendly staff. Love the atmosphere. If your going through Albuquerque on 66 definitely worth a stop!
Angel Burkholder
Good food and service. Historical❤
Maurine Starkey
Place has clean surfaces, great decor and good wait staff. Food is priced good. Huge portions, (be hungry) and delicious. This is a great place for tourists.
Tyler Fisk
Very fun diner! Felt like we stepped into the Back to Future movie. They even had Mr. Sandman playing when we walked in 😂. We both had Route 66 burgers, fries, and an Elvis milkshake. Amazing! Great friendly, service too. Highly recommend! …
Gavin Watson
Loved this diner, visited on our Route 66 trip, great food and service. Would recommend.
margie wilson
This is an iconic gem! Worth seeing for sure. We stopped in for a malt and ended up getting the pile up and some fried okra. Then shared a chocolate malt. The food was great and all the food at other tables around us looked great too! Wish I would have come with a bigger appetite! The Decor was absolutely charming! It's like a 50's time machine. They were super busy but the service was great too. I would highly recommend this iconic place. I'll come back if I'm ever in Albuquerque again!
! andy6752 !
Love the atmosphere but prices were pretty steep. Food was good. i found a piece of chocolate and a piece of grahm my pineapple malt and those topping aren't in it. Wich means they're is some cross contamination somewhere along the line
Hleumas H
Unique place with 50’s motif. Food is okay. You pay more for the atmosphere.
Lemaya Willie
I honestly love this place, it cleaned and good service. The food is amazing. It also has a nice look, love the style! I would recommend eating here!!
Missy Green
Food was good, but not great. Shakes were amazing! Waitress was wonderful and very helpful.
Victoria Christine Studio (Viki)
Awesome service! Cool views make it feel like your back in time. Very delicious food.
William Ammon
Great place with excellent food. Very cool wall outside full of automotive history!
Janice Bresee
Excellent diner food...plentiful and delicious. Decor was extensive and authentic. Staff was friendly and provided great service.
Cedric Goovaerts
Amazing 50’s vibe; the place to visit when you are doing the historic Route 66.
The staff is super friendly and the milkshakes are delicious. Definitely something to try!
(Gave it a 4 star since I found the fries a bit salty but this is personal taste)
Mary Epchook
I had the Zia Burger special. Oh my, it was awesome. The milk shake was delish. I wished I had more room for their desserts. The parking lot was full and limited.
Hannah Piper
Shake was delicious but food was average diner food. Very fun atmosphere, well decorated, and friendly staff
Toni Roldan
My husband and I ate there on a trip that we had to take to Albuquerque. Have to go back in july we'll be dining there again
Scott Ward
Great place to stop! Tons of Rt66 memorabilia in a great 50s diner setting. The food was great. Be sure to leave room for their delicious desserts. If you're REALLY hungry, try one of their banana splits. Biggest damn dessert I've ever seen!
Janelle Warren
Superb ambience, and I liked the uniforms the staff wore to keep everything 50's style. My milkshake was delicious!
Richard Acosta
The waitress was super nice and on top of it. The food is very good. Traditional style food with 50s ambiance. Not to mention also affordable.
Ernie Coco
Building was an old Philips 66 repair garage. Great atmosphere. Loved the throwback diner decor. Food was typical Americana. Good burger and good fries. The milk shakes were excellent.
Fabiola Caraveo
Great customer service. Love the environment. Hamburgers and strawberry shakes were delicious.
Brooke Edwards
Great food , I had a meatloaf sandwich an ot was delicious ! The milkshake was great ! I ordered the half size an this is it 😳 had to share with two other people haha . …
Megan McIsaac
Great atmosphere. Love the pezzz! Burger was good, the fries were fantastic!!!! Love the uniforms and music.
ROBERT WESTROPE
Excellent service fresh great food. Very friendly home style 50s diner. I had chili burger. N we had green chiliburger both were excellent.
Diane Eaton
I used to love to eat the liver and onions but for what ever reason I couldn’t get them to actually grill the onions.. asked for the onions to be extra grilled, first round onions were just dipped in oil , potatoes were cold , second round potatoes were warm but the onions were only dipped in oil .. definition of grilled onions : they are grilled to a brown color
Shaunna Grace
It is very nostalgic and everything that you love about a diner. Old fashion milkshakes and fresh pies made daily. I the special for the day, Fried catfish.
Jaselle Romero
This place is super cute but my grandma found a bone in her enchilada and the manager was super nice about and let us know if she hurt herself he would cover any medical bills. Also gave us a gift certificate for another meal and fully cover the one we had.
David Parker
Were planning to go here even prior to our trip to Albuquerque. So we'd already viewed the menu, which looked appealing. But a fair percentage of what our group of six ordered was not up to expectations. Generally food did not come out to us hot. My wife is convinced that her burger was of the "from frozen/preformed" kind. I ordered their house-made meatloaf sandwich. It was quite disappointing. Three negative points: 1) very unremarkable flavor, taste and texture like a plain, rather bland hamburger ; 2) toppings of lettuce, tomato and mayo noticeably sparse ; 3) meat was a shockingly small amount. My surprise @ it being that meager, prompted the accompanying photo.
The only bright point of the experience was that the wait staff were all quite attentive.
Miguel Avila
Awesome food. The memorabilia in the store was really awesome to look at. Lots of history here.
Cody Cooper
Food was okay, a little sub par to what diners I'm used to. The service was outstanding, and the authenticity is really awesome as well. Food was also a bit over priced for diner food and quality. However, worth coming for the experience itself. Payed $15 for burger, fries, and a drink. Typically I would come to a diner for cheaper food.
I may be a bit bias as I'm a diner junkie. Like I said before though, the atmosphere alone makes the trip worth it.
Cristina Gonzalez
Amazing 60s diner. They have the "staple" burgers fries and milk shakes. The 66 fries were delicious covered in queso and hatch green Chile. The service was amazing!
Jonathan Grabowy
Great place to eat. Friendly staff and good food.
PJ Campos
Great old school diner! Had the patty melt with wet fries and the brown gravy was good! Great service and not too busy at 3PM on a Friday.
Rerunkid
Very good food, friendly staff, the inside looks exactly like a real 50s diner! Just wish they had a location in Arizona because I don't live in New Mexico.
T P
The place isn't super easy to find, but it was well worth it. Everything was very authentic and the waitress and staff took care of all 30 of our group and other customers with no problems.
Joe Nye
Very fun. Good quality diner food. Lots to look at. Service was quick and efficient. Not the same as Boston or New York diners, but really close.
Judge Whetten
Food was great, service was spot on, the shake was amazing. However it felt a bit to much like an old dinner in the way the staff was dressed, the lack of sanitation, and just the gritty diary feeling of everything.
Clarissa Conde
Had an amazing time. Quick and friendly service. We came in towards the end of the night and we still got seated and was able to have dinner and dessert!
Miguel Alvarez
4.4 out of 5 stars
Good vibe, classic
Good food
And okay service
But I went to the restroom and when I returned they had thrown my good away
They did have me a free meal to go
The pie was disappointing, I probably got an old piece, but still good taste.
I recommend you try.
Good affordable price
melissa miranda
Casual, local old time feel. Flavorful food at fair prices. Great homemade dessert!
Jake Kimball
Loved the theme but the service staff take the cake. I was only in Albuquerque for a single night but this place made it special.
Miguel S
Great place to stop by. Quick service. Try the smothered green chili burger
Udit Bhatta
This vintage style restaurant is one of the most classic restaurant in the Route 66. Even as a vegeterian, i had a good food. The prices are okay and the ambience is beautiful. The music played, the dress of the waiters, all classics. Worth the experience in albuquerque!
Ryan Ventura
Love the experience and the service.
I will visit again on my next travel to this state. 🥰 sarappp! …
Shannon Dickinson
Service was a little slow, the milkshake and fried okra were great, however, the chicken fried chicken was bland and the asparagus was all mushy. Think baby food mushy.
Carla Lawrence
Delicious, And the service Wonderful
Meatloaf mashed potatoes, gravy onions, mushrooms, peppers. Roll and I had Fried Okra and my partner had Green beans.
Charles Manning
The peach cobbler... I'm still thinking about it. So good a la mode! And the fries with queso and green chile: YUM! I used to go here when I was a kid, and I love that it is still around. The wait staff were all very friendly and looked cool too.
Andrew Boggiano
Really good classic food, good prices, atmosphere is great and the service was quick and awesome. Highly recommend!
Soule
Shakes are amazing, reasonably priced, and food portions are generous. Great photo op outside. A must if you visit Albuquerque.
Darwin Endito
I have never been there before, but glad I did,it was amazing, our service was so good, shw was so helpful👍
Rose or Erik Basarich
We had 3 delicious shakes(I had the Elvis 👍👍) and my son had a root beer float with strawberry ice-cream that he said was good but I don't believe him. 😶
This is a $20 banana split that we saw being made.. I don't know what all it had but I know it was 9 scoops of ice cream. Icaramba! …
Louis Vigorita
Oh boy oh boy! Hamburger and fries with a vanilla shake. Juke box streaming with oldies. Clean crisp colorful uniforms and a million oez dispensers! Super friendly staff made this a perfect blast into the past night out!
Roger Coley
The server was awesome. The atmosphere really nice. But our food wasn't anything special. Fries with chili and cheese was brought to the table with the fries not fully cooked. The server took them back but all the cook did was cover the same fries with cooked fries. We had them taken back.
steve eberle
Staff was great! Really cool place, lotz to look at. Great grilled cheeses!!
Shaundalin Pollard
Ive been here before and Customer Service is great, food is great and they have great Milkshakes.
Julie Fariss
Great service and food! My sister had chicken fried steak, and I had the liver and onions. Absolutely wonderful!
Lenny McNair
The food is excellent and the service is even better. No long wait to be seated. Food prep was fast and well prepared. The only down side is that there were flys in the dining area. I would suggest screening for this and the use of bug lights.
Norvin Luna
One of the best in town right on central, fast friendly service, great food, really cool decor.
Nora Price
This place is amazing. The energy is awesome. Staff is kind and courteous. They most likely are accommodating to people with more mobility impairment than us, but they were patient with my fiance and I both slow on canes. The front portion of the restaurant is plenty accessible to wheelchairs and walkers.
The food is comforting and delicious. The amount of food I received was of good quantity and quality
They've got 50s Era decor down. I found the lineup of oversized pez dispensers in the ceiling display to be a nice touch.
This was definitely an experience I'd wish to repeat.
Sarah Nicole Henderson
Food is always good. However, the open area further back in the restaurant was filthy. There was food all over the floor, underneath our table, and one of the people in our party got butter all over the bottom of his shoes. Additionally several of the waitresses had splatter all over their uniforms, including the waitress who served my shake...it was really gross and unsettling. No one in our party has gotten sick so fortunately it seems that the cleanliness of the eating area is not a reflection of how clean the kitchen is...or at least I will let myself think that.
Tyler White
Such a cool atmosphere. So glad they have veggie burgers, and the milkshakes are amazing!
Sheila Nipper
The food was delicious. My sister and I both had Fiesta Burgers. We needed to-go boxes. I also took a bowl of chili home. Service was excellent. Atmosphere perfect!
Christine Bustos
Went with coworkers after an event. The food was great, the service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was so fun. The vintage feel is wonderful.
Jenni James
Iconic experience! For large parties be sure to make a reservation.
N Roche
Food like your grandma used to make and retro diner decor. Must try shakes and sodas. Waitresses wear classic diner outfits. You'll feel transported to the good old days!
Rachel Eachen
We had the fried chicken steak and loved it. Staff was very attentive, clean and friendly. Food was hot too!
Sanda S
Update
I hadn't been here in quite a while since I had a bad couple of experiences. However today was REALLY GOOD. The food and desserts were AWESOME and the service was STELLAR! Thank you Sara.
edward saiz
Cool environment, great service but the food could have been better. We did go close to closing so maybe that explains it. My ordered a burger and.could not eat it. Kid and I ordered chicken fried steaks which were good. Definitely take some pics ad there is cool stuff there.
Lois Thomson
As a fan of Route 66, I was looking forward to visiting this diner and was not disappointed. The design and memorabilia were such fun, right out of its heyday, I'm sure. And the food was great - a delicious 66 Burger, and the BEST chocolate milkshake. Ever.
Obsolete Contraption
Looks like a diner out of Supernatural. Great food, interesting history.
Ruben Holguin
We visited this restaurant yesterday while we were in Albuquerque. Nice place, good food. The waitress (Sofia) was attentive but the hostess (Delane) was very rude, she walked us to our booth and she literally threw one set of silverware on the table when we were already sitting and just left, that's not acceptable for someone whose job is to make the customers welcomed.
Shawn Swanson
I had a breakfast burrito, Diego's Diamond Back burger and a Chocolate shake. I had my burrito with red chilli and the burrito was generally very good but the bacon was super crispy. If you are a crispy bacon connoisseur you will probably love it but for me it was basically burnt I would rather my burrito experience 7/10. The burger was assembled nicely wasn't very messy had everything it said it has and was a decent burger nothing to write hien about, but solid didn't disappoint. The chocolate milkshake was fantastic and it comes in the blending cup so you get what would be 2 milkshakes at a normal restaurant.
Stephanie Kelly
Really cool diner! Especially if you appreciate Elvis!
Summer was a GREAT waitress!
I recommend they start using real true NM green chili though! Not the canned stuff!
mattison Hoffman
Came here since I was a kid and I still love it. Best milkshakes in town
Greg Konney
Great selection of classic Diner food. Friendly Staff and delicious food.
Dave Spiers
We love going to the 66 Diner. Food and service were good as always!
Zavier Romero
That old time diner feel with a fun and unique twist. Great food and service
TK Hogg
The breakfast “Pile-Up” is my all time favorite! Make it Christmas with both red and green chili on top❣️ Photos below are taken pre-dawn, before regular opening hours.
Bradley Evans
Always a favorite here on Central Avenue (Route 66) here in Albuquerque, just east of downtown. Great shakes and malts. Standard American fare. (Burgers with a New Mexico twist of green chili and other delights). What are you waiting for? Yum!
Eugene Zigler
The liver and onions was great. Large portions. The shakes are the best. Service was very friendly and quick. We will definitely be back...
Tony Jewell
Well, I had exactly what I had five years ago in 2012, and nothing has changed! The 'Fender Bender' is half a 'Pile Up', and I can't imagine anyone could a whole portion of this hash. It was just as delicious as I remembered.
Christie Evans
Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Small parking lot, but I don't think it could hold more. I even bought a T-shirt!
Lupita Montoya
Loved the atmosphere! Really felt like step back through time with the decor, uniforms, and oldies playing in the back ground. Food was also delicious and they have the best tasting milkshakes!
Nicole S
Great staff and food
Debbie Flores
Great service!! Dreamcicle Shake and Patty Melt were yummy!!
I hadn't been there in years and just the same as I remember!
Walter Zimbabwe
If you want a succulent burger slapped between your buns then this is your spot! Especially if you like some sweet, delectable black chocolate and black chocolate sauce all over your shake! Delicious and so many ways!
If you like your meat smothered in moist lip licking satisfying benevolence then look no further - This place delivers better than a Bangkok buffet on sailor night!
Andrea Landrini
Great atmosphere. Loved the place and the service. Food was fine too!
bellyofthebeast 505
Went for the shakes but could not resist the food. Great service and awesome food
Cathy Daichendt
Upon entering this lovely diner you'd have thought you walked on to the set of Happy Days! Very charming. Had a Grasshopper milkshake and a Cobb salad. Highly recommend it if you're in the area!
Melanie Lathe
Service was super friendly, fun and nostalgic, the pink Cadillac shake was delicious 😋 and all the food was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Thank you for making this part of our vacation unforgettable 💕 …
Ramon Chavez
Best milkshakes in town. The burgers are awesome as well!
Midget Digits (Corbin Dallas)
Awesome burgers and a great to hang out with your friends and family
Carolyn Davis
Great decor, brings back memories of a simpler time. Food and service were disappointing, except for the milkshake.
Peter Dindinger
My boss had mentioned this place during our last visit to Albuquerque, so the next time we went he took me to the 66 Diner. It's a pretty cool place. I like the nostalgia and the old school décor. The food was decent. Shakes looked good.
Ankush Arora
Awesome 50s decor and great shakes
Cecilia Zepeda
Great comfort food and customer service! When we got food to go during the pandemic last year and got some fried okra thank you for putting tin foil in the container so it stayed crispy on the way home. And, of course, we can never not get a milkshake when we visit. Our favorites are the Black Forest (it really tastes like black forest cake) and my husband loves The Elvis.
Sarah Pfister
Atmosphere is dope, food is okayish but I mostly went for the experience
Gk Fen
Awesome food, cool atmosphere, and absolutely great service! Especially from Sara!!!
Kevin Castanuela
Last 3 times we have eaten here the food just wasn't as good as it used to be. For example this last time they didn't give enough gravy for two orders of chicken fried chicken and they poured the gravy on the fries for a delivery order instead of doing it on the side and the fries got super soggy by the time they were delivered. The chile had no salt or flavor. The onion rings were not crispy they were soggy. I get rings from other restaurants that are crispy so I know it can be done for delivery. The chicken fried chicken used to be huge but instead we got two small pieces of chicken, no where near the size they used to be. Just seems like there isn't any passion in the food like there used to be. I'm only giving 3 stars because I used to love this place, it was definitely a 1.5 to 2 star experience. Hope they get back to good again. I've been coming here since I was a kid and will try again at some point in the future but it will be awhile.
steven90w02
It was the best restaurant I have been to in the 2 months that I have been in New Mexico. Great food great atmosphere I encourage you to try the banana split and take some friends
Kelly Doyle
Great stop in. Loved all of the Pez dispensers! The staff was friendly and the service was quick!
Hi, Jinx !
Lovely wait staff. Niche decor. Don't forget to ask about the specials.
Jocelyn Brazfield
An Albuquerque treasure! Decorated like a 1950's old fashioned diner; bright colors, lots of neon and music. A great experience on Route 66.
Comfort food (like chicken fried steak), New Mexican food, burgers, homemade pies, and amazing shakes. Large portions at decent prices.
janna nelson
Mediocre high priced food with way too much breading on fried items. The waitress and greeter were fine. Do they have a policy of hiring only thin young women as servers? The decor is cute but I felt bad that anyone has to wear that uniform just to get a job...
Lindsey
Only one negative - the chili and cheese fries, while tasty, was obviously canned chili with some shredded cheese on top. Now for the positives, the burgers were very good! For sides you had an option between fries. coleslaw, or potato salad. The potato salad was a winner. Definitely bring your appetite, my husband and I were rolling out the front door (figuratively of course). We had no room for their huge selections of milkshakes, but that's for another visit. The wait staff was friendly and we received our food in a timely manner. Will definitely return!
Geoffrey Kellogg
Had a friend in the hospital and was tired of hospital food so I went across the street and got some good yummy for her. And yes it was good!
gracie 420
It was lovely and the service so so nice Sara my server so sweet
Eric Grigsby
This place was outstanding. Shakes were good and our waitress was so upbeat. Love the pez collection
Kent Peterson
Was a nice find. Had good portions and good service.
Joaquin Moreno
Beautiful antique Diner. Great service and great food. The meatloaf sandwich and the chocolate shake are awesome.
Loni
YUM! Great Food! Great Place. Great Service.
CS ABQ
Always a great time and great food. @AvonABQ This is one of our family favorites
Troy Robinson
Great comfort food diner. Food was what you would expect from a 50's diner. I enjoyed the decor. Especially the pez dispenser collection that is extensive and displayed throughout the restaurant (at least 3 rooms, probably 200-300 different dispensers). Service was friendly and wait for food was reasonable.
Amanda Fletcher
We came for the milkshakes, atmosphere, and food - none of which disappointed.
Debra Lowry
Burgers are okay but Frito Pie and Peanut Butter Malt were stellar!

my son and I went there for breakfast Saturday. everything was very good the service the people the great place to go I believe. I need to start going there more than I have it's harder to get there now since Central screwed up and I can't cut across the road crazy politicians messing everything up for me. the designer is a great place of food to shakes I highly recommend it to anybody and everybody. even people I don't really like I would recommend them to go there
David Thomas
Iconic spot for nostalgic music, yummy food, and the biggest pez dispenser collection ever. They still make cherry cokes, 1950s soda fountain style. There's even a jukebox and hopscotch court in tiles on the floor. Fun place, great food.
Stephanie Fabry
Yummy food, fantastic place. Love all the Pez!!
Sox Underwear
Fun atmosphere fresh scratch made food and big shakes
Pirate Gallegos
Was super packed on a Friday night, and our service was amazing!
Richard Shafer
The seafood specialty plate was delicious. My fiance grabbed the sea bass, and that was also extremely good. For dessert we had the fried cheesecake with ice cream. My only complaint is that we didn't dine here earlier!
Aleitress Owens
My first time here today. The shake was great but it came out without whipped cream and a cherry. I had to ask for it🤔
So the server told me if I order a half of a shake it comes like that so I said we'll you didn't explain that to me.
Just a friendly reminder order a half of a shake to get the topping. If you just come in and ask for a shake they will give you a full shake without topping 🤣
I am all about supporting local but lately I have been staying at home for bad customer service.
Osiris
I would like to apologize to the very kind waitress for taking care of the shake our service animal knocked over. They have an incredible variety of shakes and tasty courses that you'll never get any where else. I would recommend anything with their green chile or any shake. Besides the friendly environment and delicious meals, they decor will remind you of a true 60s diner.
Rich Johns
Old fashioned soda bar real shakes
Ate A Great Pike Up and Albuqure Turkey

This is forever one of my favorite places! They have excellent green Chile cheeseburgers and their shakes are fire! Parking during their rush times can be a bit rough but the food is worth it.
I might cry
it was lovely, it played nice music that was relaxing, and food didn't take long. the food tasted extraordinary, i got a sundae which i usually would not be able to finish normally, but it was such a good flavor i ate the whole thing. i loved the decorations, and it was a good place for a stop on a roadtrip
Hayley Acosta
Food is good enough and the diner is cute enough but is definitely way too crowded! Service was alright and our waitress kept misgendering my partner, even with a mask that says "My pronouns are she/her" so I am not sure what that was all about. Overall, I don't think we would be back but I wouldn't discourage others from going there either.
Dani W
Fast service and usually friendly. Clean and has pretty good meals. Although maybe not a 5 star, it is definitely a must-experience of Albuquerque.
Dude Lost man
Well they did not get my order right and they have no clue what enchiladas are supposed to be. It is an ok place. Oh, they do have some oldies music playing a bit too loud. The service was ok, but your order may be not quite what you ordered. If you like spicy food that's not going to happen there. But the milk shakes are good.
Desiree Provencio
Atmosphere is cool. very clean. Traditional American food. Food is good but not anything to get excited about. Menu is limited. No great healthy options besides a salad.
Dan R
Awesome experience and great food, this place is definitely a must stop!
Xiamara
The food was a bit of a disappointment although the atmosphere brings you back to simpler times
Debby Ford Garber
66 Diner is always the best food & excellent customer service!! Thank you & happy holidays!!
BigJack Squatch
Fantastic food and friendly service. The shakes are particularly amazing, and accompanied with the retro 50's 60's feel of the neon lit diner, it makes for a meal that can't be beat.
Luke Davis
Novelty joint. Food is so-so, but nothing memorable. Very cool for the 50s diner theme though.
Kevin Schemp
I love this place. If you like the 50s dinner, maltshop food and atmosphere this is atheplace to go.
It's what's for dinner tonight. Check out the giant PEZ dispensers.
Kerianne Gardner
We love this place! It's our go to spot for special dessert out. Last Friday, my two daughters and I went after Spring Dance Show. It was super busy and a little chaotic, maybe because so many other families had the same idea. Our waitress was lovely and cheerful, even as she served so many tables. My one daughter had a root beer float and it came out looking amazing with an ice cream scoop balanced on rim. My other daughter had a mocha shake and then ordered fries as an after thought. Both were scrumptious! We will definitely return... fun atmosphere, cheerful service... like going back in time to the 1950s!
Christine Behlke
A must see for us as relatives travelled Route 66 to start a new in California where I was born. This trip was taking my son to college at UNM. Cute place and good food!
J Weber
Grace is an awesome server, green chili fries are yummy
Scott Ferguson
Excellent food and service! The Rhubarb Cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending to a great experience at 66 Diner.
Jim K
Excellent service, and the best milkshakes in town. The shakes, in my opinion, are best shared. Excellent green chile stew.
That Guy
Awsome frito pie not the best I ever had but its pretty decent and filling.
Karen Gruschow
I was so pleasantly surprised by this diner. The food was incredible! The fried chicken sandwich was the best I've had, and the portions are generous. The staff are great and my server was very attentive. This diner should not be missed when visiting Albuquerque.
Ruben tellez
They have a great interior design, a little bit overpriced but it was worth it 😋 …
France Rovelli
Amazing Route 66 kitsch decor is a standout at this delightful eatery. Good diner fare, more than ample portions and a courteous staff complete the experience. Eye candy is also a must see (pun intended), every inch is decorated in classic diner motif, with hundreds of classic pez machines aligning the shelves. Don't miss it!
Andres Arredondo
Not a 5 but not a 1. There is preference to white people unfortunately. But we Hispanics are used to it anyways
Rita Hansen
Great spot for Route 66 aficionados. Lots of retro decor and friendly service. Try the carrot cake!
Teresa Jackson
We came to eat at this cute little, iconic joint & was not disappointed. The salad was fresh & large, fried steak dinner filling & tasty & the brownie sundae to die for. Cute & nostalgic decore really made my day. Wait staff were helpful & so friendly.
Autumn Akins
I have come to 66 diner for years. The staff is always very friendly and always does what they can to make your visit an enjoyable one. I love the decor as well. Its like going back to the 50s (I imagine). The only thing is sometimes the parking situation is a little tricky but we'll worth it! O my gosh I forgot to mention the food is amazing!
Peter “PapaGrolar” Dowling
Always so amazing! Get a shake. None better in town! If you walk out hungry, you are not doing this place right. Their portions are enormous, and the sides just as good as the entrée! The 50's style Rt 66 decor just adds to the experience! And the staff is helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. Really amazing restaurant!
Telara Day
Super cute theme, but the food was left something to be desired. Really not anything special, but not BAD. A little pricey for something I wasn't impressed with. The staff is wonderful though and will take good care of you! Go for a milkshake, but save your money on the food
paul clemmer
Great atmosphere, our waitress was awsome with great recommendations!
Will have to return on our next Balloon Fiesta.
Robert Colbert
I enjoyed having in awesome Burger and the atmosphere was awesome and clean.
Jennifer Biddle
Wonderful nostalgic place. Staff was bright and friendly. Food came fast and was so delicious. I had the chicken sandwich grilled and it was great. Son had Frito pie it was huge! And two other kids had the burgers with green chili 😋 both stated burgers were spectacular. The only downfall was parking. It's a small lot that fills up quickly. But aside from that obstacle this place is definitely a must!!!
patricia wilson
We always try a different restaurant when we go in to Albuquerque, just happened to come across this little gem by accident. Food was good and the service fantastic! Try the shakes, large enough to share.
Raquel Kuper
Wait staff was super kind and helpful. Good was prompt and delicious. Price paid for food was great. Pez dispenser art and souvineers for the kids was the cherry on top.
Laura Darnall
Cute diner. Near the hospital. Not much else around. Quick service and friendly staff.
Lynn Sexton
2nd time back for us Tucdonans, this time with family from Houston. Arrived as they opened on a Sunday morning during balloon fedtival, thanks for adding to the awesome weekend memories.
Vicky Reyes
The waitress was very attentive for us on needing refills and she would come and check up on us
Drew Monclova
Haven't been here in years and it was very good. Always a good a idea to stop in and grab a bite while enjoying the wonderful history of the resteraunt.
Bunn Y
This is definitely a highlight of Albuquerque.
The food was great, the staff were absolutely wonderful, and the place looks absolutely beautiful with its retro theme.
Would come again. 10/10
Angie Hernandez
I googled around for the best milkshakes. This place is definitely it! Absolutely will go back. Zucchini fries are the best I've ever had at a restaurant!
Ronda Schiltz
Fun place to eat. 50s style dinner.
P B
A blast from the past, and this place brings back the good old days reinvented. Food is delicious, shakes a must try, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. I will be here more often.
Gilberto Garcia
One of my most favorite diners to eat at. The prices are decent and the food is extraordinary! The setting is spectacular! Everything you might find in an old school diner they have it. The servers are all so friendly and attentive to your needs. They serve old school milkshakes and have a variety of desserts.
Jenn Doll
We celebrated an 11 year olds birthday. All the children like the restaurant, it's bright and fun. The adults laughed at their quest to get ketchup from a glass bottle. We made reservations for 25 and they put us in a room to ourselves. It even had a fun little switch for a disco light. The service was great. We were loud and all over the place, but the waiter was able to get all of our orders, didn't mess them up, and even gave them to all the right people. Everyone was satisfied with their meals and of course, everyone was satisfied with shakes for dessert! Good central location for all of us to meet.
Jennifer Buell
Friendly service, great burger (try Diego's burger!), good old fashioned milkshake 😋 …

Curt, not helpful or friendly waitresses, food wasn't great. Nothing awesome or stand out about the burgers. Crowded and table was sticky like it had not been all the way cleaned. They were fairly busy so that probably had a ton to do with it.
DEFINITELY under staffed right now. I would suggest waiting a couple months, until around Christmas, before trying them again. Said they only had "like 8" employees total.
Rohan Wali
Great food and friendly staff
Bryanda Deschine
Green chili cheese burger and potatoe salad was perfect amount and delicious. Chili cheese dog was amazing. Our fried chicken sandwich wasn't fully cooked but the customer service certainly made up for it. Very easy going employees.
Valerie T.
We love this place! Fun atmosphere and good food. We were there for breakfast this morning and the Fender Bender was yummy. The pancakes tasted fine but were a bit doughy. Service was slower than usual; they seemed under-staffed. Despite all, we shall return.
Sara Langham
Nostalgia on steroids. Great food amazing pie and the staff are super friendly
Nathan Suazo
Never been here before and the atmosphere was super nostalgic! Legit 1950's diner, from the art in the walls, to the employee uniforms, to the classic milkshakes, everything is like a step back in time! Had a delicious green Chile cheeseburger with fresh green Chile that was perfect! The meal was very affordable and the service was terrific! Will be bringing friends and family here for a quick bite and novel step back in time! 😁
Alisha Loflin
Super cute, kid friendly diner. Good food and service! Malts are old fashioned, just the way they should be 😉 …
Vito Monteleon
Another old-school Route 66 throwback kinda place -- I wish I could give 4.5 stars. Reliably good comfort-food meals. We look forward to when their staffing improves so they can again provide breakfast, lunch, and later dinner hours.
Rachel Angelica
One of my favorite spots! I love the atmosphere and the food is always great. The food is very comforting and has never disappointed. They have the best shakes I've had in the state! I love the uniforms, they really capture the whole vibe of the place. I am craving this place as I type this.
crystal miller
The Queso Black Bean Burger was delicious!!
Ruth Mitchell
It is always very good. I love the atmosphere of the 50s and early 60s. They have the best shakes and malts - real I e cream.
Richard Sereno
Great food on classic Rt66
Christine Henderson
I was not even done eating. Just got my plate. And the waiter keep asking how the food was when I haven't even ate yet.
Jack Reneker
Had Birthday party 🎉 🥳 staff was great.
Toby Guhn
Enjoyed a meal and shake. Seemed a bit pricey, but the food was excellent, and the servers were polite.
Harper O'Connor
Fun Place, decent food. I had a mushroom swiss burger that was cooked just right, pretty big, and quite tasty. nice fresh mushrooms that weren't overcooked, either. The fries were nice and a good texture. The 50's diner atmosphere and decor are neat and some pieces actually date from back then! Nice to read the history on the menu and realize the place is pretty old. The chocolate malt was DELICIOUS! Blue plate specials everyday. I'll definitely go back. Be sure to sign up for a free treat on your birthday!
the_woozel
Quite a lot of fried food, but I suppose that's par for a diner. In general, I was not too impressed with the vegetarian entree options, but my compatriots told me their meat dishes were good.
What you really come for though is the soda fountain -- my old-fashioned cherry Coke was an experience in and of itself -- and the desserts. Be sure to save a lot of room, because the portions are about 3x what you'd expect. Their shakes, malts and sundaes are heavenly.
To top it all off, the whole restaurant is decked out in 60s memorabilia, perfect for "the gram", if you're into that sort of thing.
wiz kid
Absolutely adore this diner! Very cute and retro. Really good food, I had a grilled ham and cheese, and it was delicious. Whole diner plays old music to set the mood. Amazing milkshakes. Would definitely recommend!
Tony Johnson
Amazing place! TRUE milkshakes!! Carmel Apple is the flavor of the month!! Friend had liver & onions. Our guest had Cjicken Fried Steak and I had Chicken fried chicken. Absolutely wonderful! We have eaten ourselves fatter!!!
carmen storbeck-valenzuela
The Chicken fried Chicken, Cole slaw and mashed potatoes were very tasty .... the chopped green Chile was great! A little on the hot side but I love hot. Much better then the green chile sauce ! If you love Milkshakes you simply have to go there!Service was great - friendly and quick. We'll be back soon !
Fig Newton
Food is a bit above decent in my experience, shakes have the proper consistency. Had a 30 minute wait for the food but they made it right with a complimentary shake. Waitress was fast and professional but maintained a courteous presence.
Pamela Nolan-Muir
We had a party of 7 which 2 from the group had never been. They truly enjoyed the atmosphere, it reminded them of an old school soda shop. When I explained that Central was "Route 66" they're reaction was priceless
JL Young
Took my sister's here. Loved looking at all the displays and handsome good green chili stew and cheese sandwich. This is what diners looked like when we were kids.
Jim Munsie
This place is great! We stopped here on our cross country trip and loved it. It has great food in a clean atmosphere. We had the fried okra to start. We each got a small milk shake. One was the strawberry Oreo and the other was the banana peanut butter vanilla. Both were excellent. I had the chicken enchiladas and they are pretty good. The highlight was the 66 fries on the side. 66 fries are french fries covered in nacho cheese and chiles. Highly recommended if you're just passing through the area. Great photo ops!
Elaine Messier
The overall experience was full of excitement , good food, great service and happy times. The Diner was especially busy but everyone felt they were well attended to throughout our visit. We'll all be back.
Brice N
Milkshakes are so worth it. And I love the another burger with green chile. The ladies are always super friendly.
Alice Stanford
Fun place to dine. Friendly staff and there is lots of route 66 decor. There are even giant PEZ dispensers lining a shelf. The vanilla malt was delicious! A little high in price, yet the food was good.
Jay R
I love this diner ever since I moved back in 2008. Their chicken fried chicken is my favorite dish and it's always delicious to eat! The milkshakes are always more than you need which is a good thing. The staff is always very professional, kind and courteous. I highly recommend 66 Diner to everyone in the area.
Ryan Boguski
This place is amazing! The food is great but the malts are even better! Seriously, they have the best malts ever, 10/10, would recommend. (It also had a 50s setting)
Rick West
Awesome 66 Diner! Great food Great service!
Cara Walkup
From the music to the food to the decor...50's all the way. Nice! Food was good, too!
Sean Pratt
Its like travelling back to the 1950's. Really good burgers and milkshakes! The wait staff is decked out in 50's uniforms and super friendly. Overall we liked it. Lots of pez dispensers everywhere! Kinda pricey for some burgers and milkshakes. But everything tasted fresh and was made to order so I can't really complain because it was worth the extra money.
J Zaragoza
The food is good and prices are reasonable.
Steve Barrett
Cool little retro diner on Rte 66. Good food, neat atmosphere.
Angel Ochoa
Service was great. Our waitress smiled the whole time and had a fantastic attitude. Food was lacking flavor, but basically good. Large plates. Decor was a nice throwback. The waitresses were in cute outfits which made the experience better. I don't think I'd go back since I've experienced the place. The food wasn't good enough to go back, but the waitresses and decor made of for it. Next door, there is a building with vintage signs on a huge wall where you can take great family pictures.
Thomas Belisle
Loved the diner. Historical lot of really cool stuff there reminds one of one's childhood in the late 50s early 60s
Kevin Klein
Place is a classic. Cool, old school atmosphere and decor and good food. I got the chicken fried steak with mashed and coleslaw and it was tasty. Also, definately order a milkshake with your meal. I feel like that is a must in the diner atmosphere. Service was good, friendly waitress. Great place.
Angelo Lopez
Very old fashioned and loved the food!
Kim Snoeberger
Out of turkey so cld not get our favorite sandwich, BLT was not good..had a incident with a homeless guy coming in..
Shada W
The chocolate malts are delicious! The food...meh. For the price and reputation of this place I was expecting more. The burgers were dry and nearly flavorless. Ketchup should be an option not a necessity. The overall vibe was great and the servers were awesome. Great nostalgic place though. I'd return for the malts for sure!
Dea Hoover
Fun fun fun!!! Chicken fried steak, burgers, breakfast burritos all day and all while enjoying the decorations.
Kelsey Begay
Good burgers and fries but the enchiladas need some work. Service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Also... the mini hot fudge sundae was perfect size for kids and anyone wanting something sweet but don't wanna go overboard with the sugar.
John R Nelson
I just went into Route 66 Diner to use the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean when I used it. But I have eaten at Route 66 Diner. Their food is good. Their milkshakes are great. They have all kinds of different flavors for the milkshakes. The atmosphere in Route 66 Diner is like the 50s design. The Waitresses and Waiters dress like the 50's. I'll go there to have launch or dinner there when I have more time eat there. Right now they are not sitting people to eat inside or on their patio. They are doing only take out or deliveries right now. So you could probably go to their website in Order ahead and then go pick it up or have it delivered.
Dawn B
First time here while visiting relatives. It's great fun, back to the 50's. Good food too.
James Cupp
The Route 66 Diner was good and worth stopping by at least once, especially if you are traveling on Route 66 and/or want to experience a Route 66 novelty.
-Food-
The food was good.....but it was just that....just good. It wasn't fantastic or unique or a gourmet version of an ordinary thing, it was just a simple diner burger and fries. I felt it was something I could have gotten from Steak n' Shake. I thought there were plenty of food options and they had a decent menu. But my main issue was with the prices. The food was WAAAY overpriced and I didn't think it was worth the price. Part of what you're paying for is the experience.
-Service-
The servers were friendly, efficient, and professional, especially with how busy it was. Other than our food taking awhile to come out, the service was good. Our server was very welcoming and did her best to make sure we were taken care of.
-Restaurant-
The restaurant was a good mix of a classic diner and a tacky novelty tourist destination. It was something fun to see and experience.
The restaurant was incredibly busy and seemed like a pretty normal state for the place. It was fairly clean, especially for the busyness. It was also well located with decent parking.
-Overall Conclusion-
It was nice to say we went. I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat here if we are in the area again.
purificacion montes
Great service, delicious food!
Jim Penrod
We loved it! We were greeted with nostalgia. Even the wait staff were decked out in correct attire. I had only one night in Albuquerque. And I did a few minutes of research online and was thinking about one of the diners that were on “Diners, Dives and Drive-inns”. Well, at least one of them were permanently closed and the rest didn't fit my fancy. I found this one since it was close to the hotel. Well, it is so good it should be featured on it’s own TV show! The food is perfect good old AMERICAN food, wonderful portions and cooked to perfection. The staff was wonderful, kind, friendly, helpful, attentive, congenital, informative, efficient, and enthusiastic. It will be hard not to eat here next time I am in town. Thought it was great that there was; all kinds, and all ages there when I was. It must appeal to everyone, not just me.
Hadeel Alkasir
This review is for Samantha I just want to thank you so much for your amazing service first of all your bubbly personality is the most welcoming and I loved it for the beginning and I want to thank you for the pumpkin milkshake and making our dining experience so amazing you don’t see a lot of amazing servers like yourself so
Thank you for being amazing and making our evening ! Have a great night! ❤️ I hope you get recognition for your great work!! 😊

Really good burgers and shakes located on historic 66. The atmosphere is inviting and has a nostalgic feel. The waitstaff are very friendly and willing to help if you have any questions. And best of all good green chili!
Julianna L. NM
These folks have been around for so long and for good reason. I hadn't been there for awhile and forgot just how special the 66 Diner really is. They have it all - pleasant atmosphere, the vibe is relaxed, super nice and attentive staff (not overly nice and attentive!), daily specials, delicious shakes. I ordered the creamy green chile stew and was delighted because it was very well balanced, not just gooey creamy. My friend ordered chicken pot pie (it was huge) with mashed potatoes, side of fries, and a cherry shake. All good! I tried the shake and it was actually ridiculously good! I do not have a sweet tooth so normally won't like that sort of thing. He couldn't finish his pot pie, brought it home, and said it was even better heated up the next day.
I think its important to support these Albuquerque local places especially along the ART BUS route because we've lost so many, too many, already. Pop in for some very good, inexpensive, local fun and food at this iconic Albuquerque eatery. Cheers
*photo from web,,, we actually forgot to document - too busy enjoying everything! But this is true depiction.

Driving through Albuquerque, needed dinner. Just stumbled upon the 66 Diner website. Decided to order takeout and eat on the road. John/Sebastian on the phone was polite and knowledgeable and provided great service when we arrived too, had our takeout order timed perfectly based on how far out of town I told him we were. My wife even said she loved him when he told her she could get “The Elvis” as a malt! Wish we could’ve dined in but we have a long trip ahead of us (Minneapolis). Will try to come back some other time. The ten year old says it’s the best burger he’s ever had. Wife and I had the green hatch chili and bacon cheeseburgers, they were also amazing. Decor was spot on for a 50’s joint, Norma Jean was the greeter in the men’s room, lol. Great place!!
Ted Hodoba
I hadn't been here in awhile. I went with my partner for breakfast. We got the same thing except his eggs were cooked sunnyside up and mine were over easy. Both were cooked exactly as we like them. The service was excellent, the atmosphere is fun and the price is right.
Kirk Stein
My wife, her Service Dog and I had a great dining experience on 5/8/21. Our server was Summer and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely patient with us even though I had a million questions. Great Job Summer!!!!
lorrie andrew-spear
Traditional diner food. No surprises, good shakes. All in a diner atmosphere with lots of photos and memorabilia to take you back to the heyday of Route 66. A fun time. Kudos to the cheerful waitstaff. They are super patient and kind to the clientele.
Dane
A retro 60s diner including the server clothing. Great food and shakes. This had been an Albuquerque favorite for a long time.
b dunn
Good dinner. Going back with help (grandkids) for a banana split.
Gabe Escandon
Very nice little diner place with a 50s vibe going on. The service was good, but the place is a little dirty. But it’s Central, what are you gonna do? Good food, make sure you order a shake, they’re really good and thick.
Rudy Quin
I love the atmosphere! they are sure keeping the old school American diner vibe alive. the ladies working here are all smiles and attentive. the Angus beef burger was delicious! be sure to try their milk shakes too
Wayne Spaugh
Awesome retro atmosphere with friendly staff and great food. A nostalgic must when in Albuquerque.
Edward Robinson
I recently had a slice of apple pie and it was sooooo good! You can see the apples and it was sweet enough. I'd be willing to slap my mom for another slice!!!!
Sue Bruckner
Great food, lots of people on a Sunday morning-afternoon. Ordered a pink Cadillac shake and it filled my shake glass 3 times, you might want to share it, but it was so delicious that I ate all of mine alone! Our waiter was awesome.
Larry Sizemore
Spectacular, whimsical nostalgia with great service and delicious food!
Divya Agrawal
Oh my God, such good shakes! And the restaurant is really working on social distancing. They sanitize every table before letting a new group sit. Also the tables are 6 ft apart. The servers wear mask and gloves.
We ordered three milk shakes and loved them all - tutti fruity, mud pie and a custom milk shakes with vanilla icecream in root beer.
The portion size is huge - we had the shakes at around 6 PM and then skipped dinner.
A must visit for all the right reasons - shakes, ambience, great service and social distancing.
Francine Padilla
We went and visited your restaurant today, since we were in the neighborhood, we were at Presbyterian Hospital, and we were deciding on what to eat, I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, potato salad, and a sweet tea, my daughter had a cheeseburger with bacon and fries, and water, and her boyfriend had the Fiesta burger, with chile and cheese, fries and onion rings and a Diet Dr. Pepper, everything was delicious, thank you to our server, John, and the rest of the staff for such an awesome experience, and awesome food, your staff is so friendly, keep up the great work!!!
Andrew Mazer
Every time I go here I have a good experience.
The milkshakes are amazing. Try the Blue Suede, which is creamy and delicious with blueberries and bananas. Try the Pink Cadillac, it's scrumptious!
Do you like Pez Dispensers? Because they are everywhere. The decor in this place is fantastic!
I ordered the French Onion Dip and both the sandwhich and the dip were amazing.
Try this place...it's great and the staff are kind.
James Gray
One of the best diners in the Southwest! The staff are always great and the food is always delicious. Their milkshakes are some of the best I have ever had. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a great place for families, friends, and dates.
Rocky Stone
I had the Pile Up (for $9.99) They say, "Our Trademark! A pile of pan fried potatoes, chopped bacon, chopped green chile, two eggs any style, cheddar cheese & red or green chile sauce on top." I had it with green, the portion size was generous, and it was absolutely delicious! My girlfriend had the Fender Bender with red chile (it's a half Pile Up), and she enjoyed hers as well.
Jason M.
The milk shakes where delicious, there is two milkshakes in one. Cost around 6.00 each
Marla Jockers
Very cool little diner with a 50s vibe, and great service!
Rodolfo Peña
This place has been around for ages. I remember it fondly. However, I haven't been back in 10 years at least. This weekend I ended the drought by going with my young adult children. My daughter had a chocolate shake. It was a very decent shake from the tastes I had. I ordered a green chile cheeseburger and fries. It Did not measure up to my previous memories. I was starving, so already I was ready to enjoy my food. The Burger was overcooked - I ordered it medium rare. The chile was bland. Bland! The fries were good. Did I mention that my daughter's shake was very tasty? Maybe it was an off day for the cook? My burger was adequate at best. Maybe next time.
Halo Hernandez
The food! Just order the queso fries n find out! It was cool seeing the Pez dispensers as well. Will be back for sure
Russell Buehling
The place has a beautiful 50's interior that's simply worth visiting and taking a few pictures with the staff being dressed accordingly to the style. There is plenty of space to take small and big groups alike and courteous service from the staff, so in that respect I give them high marks. The reason I can't give 66 Diner a full 5 stars is because of the food, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either, for a diner, I look forward to a flavorful and tasty meal, all the way from the burger to the milkshake to the chocolate cake but I didn't get that from here. The food tasted like it was made to simply fill you but without care or though to the taste, the presentation was great but not so much the taste. Overall it's not a bad experience, but I do hope they can improve the food taste and quality.
Cynthia Conde
I had a great burger and fries, order queso on the side for the fries it's amazing. The burger is great and well priced, the blue plate special tacos were not as appetizing. Be sure to get a milkshake, I had mine packed up to go because I was full from dinner.
Matias Szumigala
Lots of different food to choose from on the menu. I ordered a burger and asked for medium but received well done. Person with me ordered medium well but received well done as well. Made the burgers kind of dry. Other than that, great service, staff, and decoration.
Bill Knight
Great food, wonderful fifties decor, but the wait staff really makes the place shine. A crowd of us showed up almost at closing, dressed wildly from the comic con, but they seated us, kept the kitchen open and serves us like we had a reservation. They made suggestions for those with questions or food allergies, and made us feel welcome, even though we them there late. Worth every penny plus a big tip!

Went with a group & had not called ahead. They went out of their way to accomodate us. Great waitress, delicious bergers & giant thick malts! Not just milkshakes. Fun Old 66 decor!

Very friendly service. Great 66 Burger, excellent pumpkin pie milkshake, and loved the pie! We tried the rhubarb and the peanut butter cream.
This place is packed so take the time to enjoy the ambience. Also, check out all of the Pez dispensers

Hadn't been here in a while and was looking for a local place to go. Did not disappoint. Even my pickiest child liked the food. Was a little pricy, but portion size makes up for it because we have leftovers.

The service is always good and I never need to worry about the food. Love

Despite COVID-19 indoor dining restrictions and the loss of their beloved manager 66 Diner was an awesome dining experience!! There was a wait line @ opening but the staff worked quickly, efficiently and effectively at seating all parties! The food and service were worth the wait! Dine @ the 66 Diner you won't be disappointed ‼️

Best shakes around. I really like their milkshakes. Their food is good as well but I love their real ice cream milkshakes. We stopped for them after a ballgame and they really hit the spot. Try an Elvis or a tutti fruity for something very different. My favorites include the mocha and the grasshopper.

Great service. Food is maybe only 4 stars compared to a real diner but I can't really complain. It was still good. The malt was excellent!

Friendly and helpful staff. I loved the classic vintage ambiance. Whole homemade pies for sale! They looked fantastic. The parking lot did not appear adequate for the apparent popularity of the restaurant. Much tourist appeal.

Great place! Portions are large enough to share between two people... as well as the milkshakes. Food was fresh and delicious! Server was friendly and helpful! Cute place for a casual dinner. If i were staying in the area longer I would definitely go back!

Good food and festive atmosphere!

UPDATE: The service has severely gone down hill and sho has the quality. It's a very sad situation. Mark the manager is a very unenthusiastic person that doesn't belong in the service industry. Our last meal at this establishment, so sad.
Love this place! Great food!! Their fried chicken sandwich is awesome!
Andrew Griego
Great old school American diner with a blue plate special. Shakes are so good and lots of options.
Michelangelo Pirrello
Outrageous milk shakes, banana boats, and mountains of ice crea.

Loved the authentic diner decor and the atmosphere, but the food was mostly average and the service was terrible. The chocolate malt and the cherry pie were great. The sodas and juices were watery. The rest of the food was ok, but nothing special. Why it took 45 minutes to prepare 2 salads and 2 sandwiches, I don't understand; it wasn't that busy. The water was inattentive and unapologetic. My advice - go there for drinks and desert!

Read the reviews and decided to go see for myself, and this place did not disappoint.
Great 50's diner atmosphere and menu. Shakes, floats, cakes, pies, burgers, fries and comfort food that you expect from a diner. (Meatloaf, grilled liver & onions, spaghetti and meatballs, and daily specials).
Pleasant and friendly staff. I would recommend anyone looking for a flashback Route 66 experience to stop here for an enjoyable meal while listening to oldies music piped through the diner.

Good food but can be on the pricey side. Fun atmosphere. We like to sit at the bar and watch them make the shakes and desserts. Service is usually good and the staff friendly. Nice family treat every once in awhile.

This place is classic. A retro styled Diner based back in the early 60's or 70's with a vintage jukebox & soda fountain. Their food here is amazing and they always offer some type of new shake for the month. Their desert is very delicious and they have a great selection to choose from, milkshakes, deluxe shakes, sundaes, and whole pies! The staff always has a smile and they are quick with the orders which is nice. Check it out for yourself. I feel like you'd love the scenery and food.

Great service. Amazing shakes. Fried chicken kinda held the flavour of other things cooked in the grease, but it was still good. Love the PEZ collections!
