I can't say enough about how easy this company is to use. I made an appointment online, I received a text confirmation and an at home pick up with zero complications. I even gave specific instructions on where I would place the computer since I had to run out and they were followed exactly. Later, I received a video of destruction of the data. Anyone with electronic waste (old computers, cell phones, hard drives, coaxial cables), I highly recommend this local company. They will come to your home to pick up your old devices. They then recycle what parts they can and shread items with sensitive information. They will send you a VIDEO and list of the items shredded. And it’s all FREE! No charge to you. 🙂👍🏼🇺🇸

Excellent experience with courteous service when I called. Had a number of items that I'd been holding on to not knowing where they could be recycled and Urban E Recycling was able to take those. Picked up very quickly on the day prescribed. I definitely recommend calling them if you have old phones, power cords/ chargers, etc. that you don't know where to recycle.

Highly recommend Urban E Recycling! Before we found out about them we had been moving an ever growing box of old electronics from house to house for literally years, trying to figure out where to responsibly recycle it. We had ancient iPhone, old wires, batteries, adapters for lost appliances, lightbulbs, etc. I scheduled the pickup online with instructions for the driver to collect from our front porch, labeled the box and left it out, and two days later the driver came and picked it up without even disturbing us. We got an email the same day confirming the pickup, and a certificate a few weeks later confirming that our data had been scrubbed and all the elements recycled. Only wish this company was even larger so I could recommend it to my friends living all over the US:)

It was quick, easy, and the friendly tech explained the procedure and took the sad box of dead electronics off my hands. The service here is great! The owner is very honest and very fair and will always treat you correctly. The workers are polite and work hard and you will be taken care of professionally. I wouldn't recommend taking your electronics scrap anywhere else. I've been doing business with the owner and his company for several years now and don't even think about venturing to anywhere else because of the honesty and fairness and the way I'm treated at Urban e recycling. One time I had to reschedule on the same day due to an administrative paperwork oversight (I still feel bad about this) and they were so kind about it. Great service. I was moving, had to get rid of various electronics, old laptop, old monitor, old entertainment equipment, etc and an old tube TV, those this are a white elephant! But they came and got all my stuff at the scheduled time and certified the hard drive on my old lap top would be destroyed and they gave me a certificate with a video. I couldn't ask for more. This is a fantastic company. The customer service they provide is hard to come by. They come to your home to pick up your items, send you a document that the items have changed hands, and send you a video to show your items being shredded (if that is what you needed.) Amazing! I had four old business computers that I wasn’t sure of how to properly get rid of. I found this company on Google and went to their website. It was clean and easy to use. I scheduled an appointment online for them to pick up my electronics. They showed up, on time, and not only was on time but extremely professional and very friendly. I was explained what would happen with the computers and they would show proof of destruction via video a few days later. The video came, as promised. I would definitely recommend this company! And best of all, they removed that stress from me with ZERO out of cost to me.

A lot of the reviews are from businesses, so I double checked before setting a pickup at home for a laptop and cell phone. Setting the pickup was easy, and I just left them in a box outside that day. They exchanged a business card for the box, sent a confirmation email, and then a video of the hard drive being destroyed, along with most of the phone. Convenient, safe, environmentally friendly way to dispose of old electronics--thanks guys!

Similar to other reviews, I had an old computer taking up space in my closets. I called around to see if I could sell the computer but most places said it was too old and would only be worth a few dollars (less than the amount of time I think it would take to drive it to these places). They provided a video showing the final complete destruction of my old hard drives along with a certificate documenting all of the serial numbers of the drives. Urban E Recycling is a godsend for those who love their tech. and new gadgets, but want to be ethical about it! I looked for a place to recycle many bins full of old keyboards and mice, defunct power cords and connectors, chargers to long-lost doodads, etc. Luckily, there’s a company out there that takes all of that stuff and recycles it for FREE. Enter, Urban E! I’ve visited this place several times. If it’s your first time there and you’re using Google Maps, just be aware that where it tells you to turn into the warehouse complex at the very last leg of the route -- don’t. If you do you end up in a compound or courtyard-like space surrounded by warehouse and garage-style doors. The front entrance of Urban E is right near the entrance, but this isn’t where you want to be. You want to pull out back, where the garage doors are open and ready for you to cart in your old electronics and tech. -- with a lot of help, of course. When you have a hard drive that needs destroying... You just might get to watch it -- there’s an epic little machine that does it, with a window to show you the carnage. Pretty cool stuff - I actually took a video. If you don’t have time to stick around and watch but want assurance, they’ll send you a certificate of destruction. I’ve brought all kinds of stuff here - old handheld games, dvd players, computer components, cords of all kinds -- even an old coffeemaker. The only thing that I’ve tried to bring here that they don’t take is CRT monitors and TVs. But they WILL tell you where you can take them -- and they’re tough to get rid of, so that’s really helpful. Do it! The Earth is worth it, plus it’ll make you feel good.

I had accumulated several items over the years - laptops, tower CPUs, old PDAs and phones - and fretted over what to do with them, paranoid about ID theft, etc. I found Urban E Recycling through a Google search, and called. Being so paranoid, I didn't want a pickup, I wanted to see the shredding myself. I called and was told to come in, they'll do it while I watch. I had multiple devices and wondered how long that would take and was told it would be quick! And it was! I drove up and someone on their loading dock helped me unload, wheeled my devices to their shred area and they disassembled my devices and shredded the hard drives in front of me in a few minutes. Amazing! Thank you! Oh, and I remembered after driving off I had a shoe box of old floppies and discs and had forgotten to ask them to shred them. I zoomed back and they stopped what they were doing to look for the box and found it and promptly shredded. I am so glad they can safely destroy these devices and recycle the materials - it is a win-win and I am appreciative of them as a business and of their great service!!! Thank you!!

I really like the service that they do. That being said here are ways that they can improve. 1. Someone needs to be answering the phone, not an answering machine. I called for two days and got nothing but a message and no return call. I finally called the Lakeland division and got some response. 2. Better scheduling. Once I got a return call I was told that someone would be there between 1 and 1:30, at 2:00 I called and got an answering machine again but at 2:30 someone finally came to my shop. Again, I like the service that they do. I hope to see them fix the following situations.
