I usually love these guys. My husband thought he paid the bill. He didn't. So I paid it. It states that it will automatically show as paid. So today they took the trash bin. My husband called, got it straightened out as the payment was applied to a previously paid statement, and was corrected. Cool. So they brought another bin. My only issue? Did they put it where the other bin always went? Nope. The put it right at the entrance blocking the driveway. They do the exact same thing at my mother's house. I started to take notice that her neighbors' bins are placed back where they were picked up, on the curb or next to the driveway, but hers...it's always put back right in the middle of the driveway entrance.

I love the service. They are always on time. Recently somehow my trash got missed and I contacted them. Just asking if I missed it because of a holiday or if they're actually coming a different day and I had missed the email. They are sending a truck out the next day just to take care of our trash for the week. No questions asked. The workers are super respectful. Super kind. They always have a smile on their faces.

They came out on Labor day and I forgot to put my garbage out. I heard a garbage truck and seen them grab my trash can from around back and dump it for me. This is fantastic customer service and they go well beyond for their customer. I highly recommend this Company. They respond to emails on the same day and are so nice. I can't say enough good things!!

J E McMurtry is the best trash & recycling service I've had in my 16 years in Donelson! They are completely reliable, they communicate with their customers including reminders, and they offer recycling (which most companies won't offer to new customers nowadays). They're also very kind, they answer the phone and emails, and they follow through if questions. Their rate is most competitive, and they're a small,. local business. About 12 homes in my 'hood were getting horrible service from another carrier, and McMurtry generously expanded their route to incorporate us! After that horrible service, I'm in trash-heaven with these guys! I'll never take them for granted!

This is edited to provide feedback: Good service (Weekly pickups) and very dependable. Communication could be better. My wife received a callback (Original CSR had my contact information and did not relay it to the new case handler) and they corrected this issue. Thank you They have communicated that they need the bin out the night before as they try to beat the heat for the employees with early A.M. runs. Using this service for 7+ years and never had to before. They did not cancel my account as I originally assumed they would from other reviews. They picked up my trash and I am very appreciative. I did have additional info on this review but it is not worth it.

(Recycling not listed above, and yet this is 1/2 of their service). I am impressed that the guys will retrieve my garbage can on the few occasions when I forget to place it in the driveway. And they generally replace the can where I store it, beside the house. This is great service, particularly for a senior citizen.

We needed to dispose of our Christmas tree (yes, in February!), a broken tv, and broken cd player. The office quickly arranged for these to be taken along with our normal trash pick-up in a few days. This is a great service. Shout-out to Roger in the office who was very helpful, efficient, and personable in getting this set up for the next pickup. All items were taken as promised. Thanks for your help with this!

We have used JE McMurtry for over 2 years and are very happy with the service they provide. They are fast, thorough, and always very friendly. Our toddler watches for them every week and they always take the time to speak to him, even bringing him a Christmas present this year!! We highly recommend this company!!

This company is amazing! My 2 year old son was outside playing and got so excited when he saw the "big truck" (as he calls it). The guys passed our house while waving to my son and said they would be right back. They immediately turned the truck around and parked it right outside of my driveway to get our trash next since we were outside playing. My son was SO EXCITED! Thank you so much to these guys. I know it's hot and I'm sure you all wanted to continue on for the day, but making the time for my son to see that "big truck" made his day!! Also, on numerous occasions we have forgotten to take our can out to the curb the morning of pickup day. The guys will come to the side of the house and check inside the can to see if it needs emptied. If it does, they drag it out to the truck and take our trash. Kudos to them! A job well done each and every week!

Y'all, I can't say enough good things about Roger and his team. 1) They offered us services even though we were outside their normal route, 2) offered us recycling when literally no one else would and 3) didn't force us to roll our bins out to the curb and instead picked them up directly behind our garages! I was the representative from my HOA who worked to hire a new company and Roger was so responsive and so easy to work with, he's just a peach. His team even went so far as to send us email reminders of when the pickups were when we first transitioned so people wouldn't forget. If you need a new pickup company, then look no further! You can't do better than these guys, I promise!

I have to update my review as of today, 9/22/20. My wife has been away on a business trip for a week so far, so I have been taking care of our 2 dogs and the house chores alone. I have a job that keeps me working and connected from the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep. I am also balancing studying for my exam in December. Needless to say, it is very easy to overlook some things right now. Trash pickup is on a Tuesday. I know that, but in the hustle and bustle of my busy day-to-day, I forgot to take my trash can to the road last night. I wake up this morning and take care of the dog's medicines and food and water, then get myself ready for work. I walk out to the driveway and notice that my trash can is empty at the end of my driveway. I open my Ring app on my phone and find the motion alert and watch it from earlier this morning. What I see makes me smile. The gentleman saw my trash can and has walked up my driveway to look inside it. He sees it needs to be emptied and takes it down the driveway and to the truck and empties it. Sir, you may not know this, but you made my day. That smell gesture of kindness was absolutely something that I needed this week and I greatly appreciate you.

Wonderful Service, Affordable, Reliable!! From the moment I spoke to them on the phone, with their friendly staff I knew I was in good hands with this business. Tanya was very friendly and courteous, she also has a good spirit and great customer service skills. They came out the very week I called, offered a free trashcan, and always available to speak to for any questions without having to go through a automated machines with unlimited menu options.We also enjoy the fact no contracts or pressure needed which also helped our situation. My wife and I just moved to Lebanon. I signed up for WM because that’s what my father-in-law was using. They told me to put my trash at the curb on Tuesday, but they never came by. I called every day for a week, with promises they would pick it up each day. They never showed. I asked to speak with a supervisor. They told me someone would call me within 2 hours - no call. I called the next day and they told me it takes up to 48 hrs for a supervisor to get back with you. After two days, still nothing. Today, WM still didn’t pick up my trash. I called and canceled my service and signed up with McMurtry. All in the same day, they brought me a can and picked up my trash that was on the road. I’ve never had such good service. Today, I made the right change. Thank you McMurtry for treating me like a customer and not just a number that you could easily do without.

Super pleased with the customer service this company has. We have had them for the past 4 months now and they have been on top of everything. It is the little things that make a difference. We forget to pull the can down to the curb and the guy still gets it from by the garage. If we take the one recycling can up and trash hasn't been picked up yet the driver takes the trash can up to the garage. Awesome work! It also helps that they have a pretty decent rate! Would recommend.

McMurtry Disposal is hands-down the best service around. Locally owned, which I love, and their staff is incredible. I once had some heavy boxes on my porch I couldn't lift myself and one of the workers went above and beyond by helping me with them. So I chose JE McMurtry Disposal because they were a locally owned company & I like supporting local businesses...but I was surprised by the amazing service I've received. I bought a house in May, & you homeowners will understand that you've got a lot going on when you first move in...so, I kept forgetting the day I was supposed to pull out the garbage. I was a day ahead in my mind. My guys that run the Old Hickory route would run up to my house, pull the can, unload, & leave it back up in my yard. Talk about service!! They went way above & beyond to make sure my trash was picked up & they def didn't have to. So a couple months later a guy came around trying to get me to switch. I told them that I was staying loyal to this company as long as I was living here. They are competitively priced, locally & family owned, & take that extra step for customers. Incredible company... with incredible workers! We have had them ever since we have been in our home. (8ys?) They beat any other disposal company here in Nashville - Customer service is beyond the call of duty.. we started out with a popular company. They always were forgetting our house.. no one ever responded when we called. We asked them for yrs to get their trash can (its the blue one if that helps) after we finally cancelled. It still sitting down by the road! J E Mcmurtry has never missed a day... always notifies us of holiday changes and still comes promptly. On occasion we have forgot to put our trash out and they have actually walked up the driveway .. dumped our trash... and put it back!!! This is an over due thank you. Recently we have been solicited by another company regarding pickup change.. making it appear we use them... we checked to see if JE changed numbers .. nope. Pretty slick to think we would jump on their band wagon.. We are way too happy! Thanks guys if you read this.

I think J.E. McMurtry Disposal is fantastic! They have NEVER missed a pick up! They even send reminders to me before the monthly recyclables pick-up day. Once someone dumped their garbage in my can right after my pick up had been made before I had moved my can, and when I called McMurtry, they actually came back a second time to empty the can for me. Efficient, friendly, above-and-beyond service! Highly recommend.

We are fairly new customers with McMurtry, having started service with them on June 1, 2022. From our first inquiry to them via email about pricing, etc ..., to their reminder emails about recycle pick-ups. They are very responsive with communicating. The service has been very professional ... haven't seen them slam or "throw roll" our can back to it's spot, nor have they haven't left it in the street. Roger & his team deserve all the praise! Our family moved from Nashville to the suburbs about 2.5 years ago & have been consistently impressed with their service — both via email and in person with our garbage truck guys. When my son was a newborn, I kept forgetting to set out my recycling can & one time I emailed about it. The owner (Roger) responded personally and was able to send a truck the next day & was so understanding. It was such a kind gesture for a new (very sleep deprived) mother. These days, we continue to be thankful. The guy that drives the truck on Friday mornings Shout out to Chris!) He always beeps the horn for my son & it truly makes his day. We plan our Friday mornings around the trucks arrival so he can see it — & the guys have been waving & honking for over a year now with him, & even wished him a happy birthday over the summer. Recently, we were late to the porch & thought we missed them — the driver reversed down the street just to give a beep & wave :) My 2.5 was sooo happy! Thank you Chris & Bobby! This is long, but I really could go on & on. Their service has been a huge blessing to our family & we’ll continue to recommend them to others!
