EJF saved the day! We recently switched to EJF for building management services. Robert Woolf our manager was assigned after EJF listened to our needs, opportunities and concerns. We have a plan for tackling current building challenges and a bright outlook on the future. From my perspective as condo board president EJF is an upgrade in every way from the previous company. Robert's an excellent fit with our community culture, building staff, and treats our residents with honesty and respect. EJF has broad knowledge and expertise needed to unknot the mess from the previous provider. EJF has been timely, responsive, competent and honest.

I called EJF with a problem I had logging onto my account. My password was said to be invalid. No problem, I thought, I’ll just click onto “Forgot Password” and I will be emailed a temporary password and be able to create a new one. For some odd reason this was easier said than done. I spoke to Aaron who helped me resolve this issue with much patience, professionalism and courtesy. His friendliness and calm put me at ease when I could have been made to feel stupid as has happened in the past with other phone encounters of this nature.
When I asked Aaron if I could “practice” logging on before hanging up, he welcomed it and was happy for me when I succeeded. It was a pleasure to interact with such a caring,, competent staff member like Aaron!

EJF is hit and miss really. Why? Because it is all down to THE PEOPLE they hire, reognize and reward. I owned a unit in an EJF managed building and was on the Board of the Association. This meant a lot of interaction with the building manager. The first building manager behaved in just the way the one star reviewers describe in these reviews. A total joke. In fact, if minus stars were possible plus minus points for rudeness, I would be giving those. Just unbelievable and zero understanding of governance - his role and relationship with the Board. However, as it was time for a change, this manager was replaced with LYNN SIMPSON. Honestly, I have never known anyone to work so hard and be so proactive. It was day and night. A million stars if possible - but my 5 stars here are for her because she became my experience of EJF which went from terrible to excellent overnight. Instead of chasing down month old requests for repairs on behalf of residents (while also having a full time job of my own), LYNN was way out in front, thinking of things and solving problems BEFORE they were raised. She dealt with rude condo owners, sometimes at all hours and over the weekend. She was always the definition of grace under pressure. SO - take names, as some people leaving reviews have done. If you want a good service, let EJF management know when their service is great and when it is not - and who is delivering it. Hopefully once they see that several people are saying the same thing, EJF has the management sense to make sure that their best people are recognized and those giving their company a bad name are not. Over time, the company improves and your small action has made everyone's experience of EJF better.

Ella Gube has become the smart person I ask when I need advance word, guidance on policies, or actual help with things at 3WC. Examples -- the current basement work on floors; fixing the garage door; the $$ we paid for water-shutdown valves last year; details on 3WC monthly apt. fees; guidance on covid protections for people who liver work here; etc..
Hunter is superb at making things work, or renovating them. Jason presides well. Alex has a long, prodigious record of keeping 3WC organized and sparkling, thanks to his endless work.
The front-desk people do their best, but we need longer hours and a deeper familiarity with residents and their needs. Like Jojo did so well. This needs improving -- it sets the whole style and image of 3WC, and it's now deficient.

When our HVAC stopped working recently, resulting in no heat in our apartment during a cold snap, Mary Cajigas & Moe Bordeos immediately responded to getting it resolved. They offered to provide space heaters, and had a service technician come to look at the unit within 36 hours of our reporting the issue. They also followed up immediately afterwards to make sure it had been resolved. Mary and Moe have been incredibly helpful and responsive whenever we've had an issue with our unit, promptly scheduling technicians and being incredibly communicative with us to make sure that any needed repairs are completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.

I have long struggled with EJF as a renter and then later as a homeowner (a part of a cooperative). I have found that, as much as they want you to use the portal, they're incredibly unresponsive if you submit messages this way. I have also had issues generally with automatic payments and the portal so either it's just me or the system doesn't operate effectively.
However, if you are able to connect with a client rep, they're generally incredibly helpful. I have had to follow up no less than 4 times on a consistent account draft issue. I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly thankful I was to be connected with Israel. He was patient and so helpful as I tried to sort out the issue from another country. He really takes the time to explain what is going on on the back end and offers possible solutions or ways to follow up. He is amazing, and I hope EJF knows how great he is!!
EJF would really get a three from me generally, but Israel is +10 stars, so I figured four was fair.

EJF began managing our condominium last summer and it was the best decision we could have made. Our tenant recently vacated the unit unexpectedly. EJF turned over the apartment rapidly, got the unit listed and had it reoccupied in less than a month. They were amazing. We have been very impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism of the Ariel and the maintenance department and James and the rental department.

Leasing a property from EJF was overall a very good experience. They were responsive to maintenance requests, they did not hassle us regarding any issues with the apartment, they were quick to approve our dog for the lease, and were generally very easy to work with. I gave four stars because the move-out process was a little hectic and they doubled the fee for filing a change of occupancy notice out of the blue without much justification.

I have had a great experience with EJF. All of my earlier experiences with rental property management companies left me with really low expectations that I could ever have a collegial or enjoyable experience with these sorts of organizations, but EJF has really changed my mind. Vincent has been my property manager for a while now, and he is always communicative, responsive, customer service oriented and friendly. Previous experiences with renting have made me feel like I'm doing battle with my property managers, but Vincent and EJF have made me feel like we're on the same team. I've also really enjoyed living in the home I rent from them--reasonable pricing, no egregious problems with the house, etc. Highly recommend!

Subsequently when we changed managers for our condo building, we found out that EJF had misplaced the front door MEDCO key template, so we had to rekey the doors and pay for a new "master" key. Old review- As a owner of a apartment this has to be one of the worst experiences I have had dealing with a property management company and I had terrible past experiences. They give me the run around and my apartment has been empty for months and months. They set the price and now tell me it is too high. The pictures they took are blurry. And I gave the go ahead to get carpet and paint and they still haven't done it. Terrible communicators. Wish I never used them.
Update: They have greatly improved over the last year I must say. A great automated system. They quickly filled when the previous tenant left. Not sure what happened but it seems like a different company.

EJF is the 3rd property manager we've tried in 7 years of renting, and we've been with them about 2.5 years now. Unless they close up shop (I hope not!) we'll never need to change again. The service and professionalism are fantastic. From tenant vetting and selection to maintenance and inspections to records management and communications, their performance has been consistent and tremendous. We previously tried, and considered, slightly cheaper alternatives, but in this case you very much get what you pay for and then some.

Once I had decided to lease the house, the process went incredibly smoothly. I needed to move in a short amount of time and they removed a lot of the stress that comes with that. Throughout the year I lived there, I never felt like I couldn't call or email EJF with questions or concerns. The online payment and maintenance request system worked really well, and every time I submitted a maintenance need, someone would get back to me within hours, if not minutes. EJF Real Estate Services did a very fine job of finding a tenant for the studio apartment in Foggy Bottom that I own.The previous tenant, who had lived in the apartment for several years, vacated without a great deal of notice and well out of the summer cycle, when GW students are looking for housing for the fall. EJF found me a tenant at a good rent and quite quickly--and also on a six-month lease, as I had requested. That should mean that the property will be back on the rental market during the peak summer cycle.
