He was consistent in reaching out even though it was 2 or so years later. Though it didn’t seem like I was ready, he kept patient and consistent. So I made the call, and got a reply back right away, and Jodie Smith was given my name and came to visit us . We hit it off just wonderfully ! She made the whole process super easy, carefree for me and brought a great deal of pleasant surprise to me. I have to say, this review is long due. I feel guilty of not paying back the same amount of attention and care to her reputation as she did to my very humble property. As an immigrant, young working professional, I had no clue of the process, nor did I have a lot of time to do thorough research. And I need to sell my suburban condo for a job relocation. The market value of the condo is in the lower value range. The only thing I knew was the commission is charged at a certain percentage of the property value. But Paula made the journey easy, anxiety free, and memorable. Step 1: Finding the realtor with client's interest in mind Since Redfin and Zillow have such a big online presence, the first attempt I made was to connect with a Redfin realtor. At first it seems those big businesses offered the best deal as they are marketed to offer the lowest cost for selling. So I registered on Redfin. When the Redfin agent showed up, I was surprised by the informative, professionally designed marketing package. It was really nice. There was only one catch. There is a base commission. With a relatively low value property, even the base commission is equivalent to be 5% (instead of the marketed 3.5%). #At the end of the day, large businesses are not always friendly to “low-value” clients.# So, I gave up the search in this category all together. My next idea was to locate the recently sold properties in my neighborhood, and find out the realtors, contact them and ask for help. Soon enough, I found a local father-and-son business and called for help. For some reason, I felt the realtor’s tone is quite impatient during the call. Later, when I went back to check the photos of properties this realtor posted, I noticed the lighting of the photos, the setting, the composition all need a great deal of re-work. The price tag of this property is very similar to mine. It was quite clear to me, mine would get treated in the same way. So I have to give up. Then came Paula! Finally!! At this point, I was quite hopeless. I thought it was hard work to sell the property. I started registering on websites, hoping to connect with more realtors and see how the process works, though my mind was filled with clouds of uncertainty. Then, miraculously, I was matched with Paula Cardi. A call was scheduled to gather information to understand my needs with her. After two minutes, I got super excited talking about everything I knew and my expectations. After the call, it is clear Paula is the right person to entrust my valuable property to (though to any realtor, it is not a profitable case at all, and I understood this). All the anxiety caused by the uncertainties and the complexity of the process suddenly disappeared. It was such a pleasant start. The rest is one surprise after another. Step 2: Methodically and professionally arrange photo shooting and online posting Paula is so methodical and professionally equipped when it came to photo shooting. She first arranged a drone shoot. Two days later, a post with 30 high quality photos, holistically and beautifully captured the surrounding environment of the condo appeared online. I have to admit this level of planning and professionalism is beyond my expectation. Next is the level of care Paula took to present my very humble place. There was a cosmetic defect in the floor threshold leading to the living room. It was not a very pleasant sight but did not affect the integrity of the floor. I had left it undone for two years. To my surprise, Paula creatively covered the defect with the doormat. This rearrange of the existing resource changed the aesthetic experience. This instance is an example of Paula’s attention to detail. I appreciated all she did.
