Buying a home is a process, and being a first time home buyer, you really want to be "in the know". At the beginning of the process, I was working with an Urban Living Rep and they did not communicate in timely matter. I would email, and would not receive any answers for days if not a week. It was very stressful at first due to the fact that this person took a VERY long time to respond to my email, or even my realtor's emails. I understand that things can get busy, but the professionalism should still be in effect when working with customers. There was another time when the tile to my bathroom and half bath, were changed without my consent, and I didn't find out till after a week the change was done (GOOD THING I LOVED THE CHANGE). Soon after, Urban Living changed my rep and Casey came onboard as my transaction coordinator, and my experience changed for the good. Casey was exactly the Rep I needed from the beginning of this BIG process. She answered all my question, replied to my email in a timely matter, and was very a great person to work with. Urban living is a good company to work with, it was just my experience at the beginning that made me question them.

We went through urban living to purchase my home. Casey did a great job at answering all our questions and handling everything in a prompt and professional manner. There was another agent we worked with that made a lot of mistakes and we always had to triple check the paperwork from our end to make sure it was correct. There was also a lot of miscommunication with him and he was not able to answer when we would ask him questions. Overall it was still a positive experience with Urban Living and I would still recommend them.

Okay- 12/10 recommend. I feel like I’ll never be able to express how thankful i am for them. We came across Urban Living when we found a property we liked in the med center. However, it ended up being out of our price range and thought we weren’t going to be able to find a house in an area we’d like. Our selling agent, Michael, was our angel in disguise during this. Perfect place to buy your first home! I had followed Urban Living on instagram when my husband and I were toying with the idea of buying a house in early 2020. 9/14/20: One more star added, for the fact that the issues that prompted me writing my first review are finally getting addressed. For this, I am happy. I am just saddened it took a pointed Google review on top of tons of emails and calls to get action going. My word of advice to potential buyers: keep track of all emails and conversations you have with UL and the builder. Make sure you get promises written down in texts and emails. A lot of times, I would get delayed responses or emails saying topics of conversation hadn't occurred, and my emails served as proof that I had brought up these conversations or concerns in the past. Also, be prepared to be extremely persistent in getting things done, or issues will fall by the wayside. I've been struggling for more than a year with issues that should have been non-issues. 9/10/20 Update: I appreciate that Ashwani from UL reached out to see how to assuage the situation, so I am adding a star for now. I was also informed Cruz no longer works at UL, which is a good thing for everyone. 9/7/20: (EDITED REVIEW): Review your options before buying with UL. I bought a house from Urban Living built by Oracle builders. I would not do this again, the whole process from the start to one year after close has been so inconceivably and unnecessarily stressful. Prior to close, deadlines set by UL and Oracle were constantly missed, pushing back the closing timeline by almost 2 months. I felt like UL took a more hands off approach to my account after they got my in-earnest money and I told them I would not use their in-house financing to purchase my house. Finally, I had an awful interaction with Cruz, one of their agents/ managers, who tried to twist my arm into closing without a proper walkthrough, and then threatened to keep my money and place the house back on the market. He went as far as reaching out to my lender to ask for some pretty private info. I am lucky my bank called me immediately to let me know what he was up to. I literally hired a lawyer after that interaction with Cruz. A year after close, my house is alright and I like the area. There are some things I would change about the design, which I am going to go about doing on my own dime and time, but that was expected on my part. But after the whole unnerving home-purchasing experience, multiple re-inspections to address structural and HVAC issues that hadn't been addressed properly prior to close, trying to get problems addressed after close, and after hearing from friends who bought homes in the Houston area from other real estate companies with far less drama than I had, I am left with two prevailing thoughts: 1) I won't work Urban Living ever again, and will go out of my way to ensure my family and friends don't. My real estate agent says them same. 2) I am hesitant to work with Oracle Builders again. The closed loop communication between them , the house-owner and Urban Living is shaky at best. Beware, folks.
