Great experience with Midcoast Aerus. I am a new home owner with a newly built home. We have well water and I started noticing the yellow rings in the toilet and sink and my clothes began staining in the wash. When I got the notice for the free water test I was very curious what the results were going to be and also nervous. Elias came out and performed the water test. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing as he was doing it. He inspected some parts in my house as well. The results came back with high manganese and my water was very hard. I was dreading this part because here comes the pressure of buying the water filter. Elias was in no way pushy or made me feel like I needed to buy this. He explained the benefits of this “investment” into my home and wanted me to be comfortable with the decision. I went with WC100 water filter. Although the prices are more expensive than some others around here, they offer lifetime service checkups and we’re very easy to get in touch with and work with. They offered me a great payment option that made this possible for me and really try to work with you. They came and installed the filter about 2 weeks ago now and I haven’t noticed any yellow/orange staining in the showers and toilets since. The only thing was a little lack of communication between Elias and the plumber and what exactly he was going to do, but in the end it worked out great and everyone was more than accommodating. And Tom even reached out right away to make sure everything went well with the installation. I appreciate the great customer service and thorough work and couldn’t be happier with my decision to go with Midcoast Aerus. They work quickly and efficiently and make themselves easily available to get intouch with. I highly recommend going through this company, no matter who you get, they are great people to work with!!

I was initially frustrated with this company because it was difficult to reach them, we had a no-show appointment, communication problems, and when we finally got someone out to the house they said our system was discontinued and that we would have to buy a whole new system. BUT after talking with Tom about these problems he bent over backwards to make it right. Our happiness was very important to him and his company. They ended up giving us a huge discount and very patiently answered all of our questions. I would recommend this company to others. In the end, they did a great job!

Midcoast Aerus came by & installed my water softener system today. Dan & Cole arrived on the early side of their time estimate, always nice! Poor guys got stuck in my driveway, thanks to rain & mud. Not something you want to deal with when arriving to do your job. Sorry, guys!! 😰 That aside, they installed everything quickly. Almost forgot they were even here, they were so quiet, ha! Left no mess behind. Cole gave me a rundown with how often to add salt crystals, and told me that they would come service the system, if need be. These guys were good, and worth the $$$ to save your plumbing/appliances if you have hard water. HIGHLY recommend!!

I scheduled the free water test fully prepared to say "no" to any offer to buy a filtration system and I expected to have to deal with a pushy salesman, but I was fortunately wrong on both fronts. The technician who came out (Mike) walked us through the water test in a friendly and informative manner and suggested a small filtration system for drinking water for our sink. (He also let us know that the Pur filter we had on our sink only filtered out chlorine, which was very good to know.) I drink a lot of water when I'm at home, so we decided to move forward with his suggestion. We were approved for financing on the same day and by the next week the filter was installed and working perfectly. We have not had any problems and I love it. Based off my experience with Mike and reading the other reviews, this is a company that I will continue working with because of its outstanding customer service. I will update this review if my opinion changes.

Extremely pleased with the customer service, from the salesman to the plumber to the owner. Everything was professionally explained in layman's terms. Once the C150 was installed, my PH balance was in the acceptable range within a month. And, I'm feeling much more comfortable that my family is drinking cleaner, safer water with the Reverse Osmosis system!! Huge thanks to Tom and his staff!

Just had a water softener filtration system installed because I have very high iron levels. My water smelled metallic and was discolored. My clothes didn't smell or feel clean, my dishes felt like there was a film left behind after coming out of the dishwasher and the hard water left my skin itchy and dry after showers. I contacted Midcoast Aerus' owner, Tom Hayes, and he tested my water and reviewed the comprehensive water test done by a lab to determine what could solve my issues. I was very pleased with the timeliness and great service by the technician of the installation. Explanation of the operation of the system was clear and easily understood. No more smell, discoloration or unclean dishes or itchy skin. My hats off to Midcoast Aerus for excellent service. Thanks Tom and Paul.

We had just replaced our hot water heater and pressure tank because we could not solve the bad smell coming from our hot water. We called The Pure Experts because of their outstanding google reviews and Cole came out to test our water. Turns out we have some issues that a new water tank cold not solve and will have the Pure Experts take care of it. Cole was very smart and explained all of our options. He found a best solution for our situation and took a lot of time with us to answer questions. He was a fun guy to talk to and extremely knowledgable about well water and all the challenges that come with living on the coast. We will get our new system in about two week so and will keep you posted on our progress.

We bought a C150 a little over a year ago. Even though I felt really pressured into buying the system, everything was fine until it came time for the yearly check up. Ever since the maintenance check the unit does not come on nightly and when it does come on our kitchen sinks fill up. Each time it fills up higher until it overflowed last night (4/30). Luckily we were up and were able to clean the water up. Who knows how much damage would have been done if the water had set on the floor all night. We have called multiple times since 4/22 and have yet to have the technician call back. Customer service has been horrible. UPDATE: The lack of communication issue was due to a change in ownership. Thank you Tom for responding so quickly on your first official day as the new owner. Tom came out personally to check on the matter and sent their plumber out as well. The plumber was able to identify the problem and we are on our way to getting it fixed.

We are on a well system. The home water test performed by Elias indicated a high level of manganese. We were skeptical about buying a filter system but decided the new system would replace our current filter and provide much better filtering. We purchased Origins ISM200. The installer informed me all what he was going to do. After installation, he went over the operation. I was pleased with his work. We are a month into the filtering of our well water. At this time there isn’t any obvious difference, but in the near future we will have the water tested again. The new filter system gives us peace of mind and I do not have to replace filters any more.

AERUS came to my home and tested my water. My sole interest being the hardness. That test came back very high. It dries out my skin making both me and my daughter itch. I compared and contrasted the expense of a water filtration system, the ongoing expense of high quality shampoo made just for people who have hard water, just “dealing with it” etc. and I decided to go with AERUS. Their system doesn’t seem to require a lot of maintenance. I can bypass it when watering my lawn which is a plus for me. I won’t have the ongoing battle of itchy skin which for me will be a relief! The tech who came to my house was friendly and informative. He was timely when answering my questions and even came over on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule. My water filtration system will be installed in just over a week. Good customer service! Thank you! The water filtration was installed. Super nice employee came to my home and explained how it worked. What do I have to do now? All I do is turn off the filtration when watering the lawn and pour in some salt when the barrel gets low. The water tastes SO good! Very happy!

We had such a great experience with this company. We were having issues with our well water and Alan spent a considerable amount of time trying to troubleshoot the problem. Although the company could not fix the problem 100% due to things out of their control, he made really good recommendations and got us a set up with a good quality reverse osmosis system for our drinking water. I would use this company again in a heartbeat and would consider this company the "go to guys" for water problems.

The technician, Paul Turgeon, was very efficient and went above and beyond install of the purification system. We knew we were having problems with either the pump or the tank before he came. He is coming back to replace the tank tomorrow. We're very happy with the results of the purification system. Our water doesn't stain the toilet anymore. No more mineral crud buildup on the sink faucet either. It tastes great and is crystal clear.

Could not be more happy with The Pure Experts. We had a short deadline to get our well water cleared to close on our new house and the Pure Experts exceeded expectations. Within one day we had a sales rep, Alan, work diligently with us for exactly what we needed. He was able to offer us a substantial discount for a Black Friday deal and guaranteed to have the mitigating system in with time to retest the water before closing. Working with the plumbing department and Leah, within a week the well had been shocked and the new system was in! New water test results came back and cleared all problems. I have been living with "orange" well water for years and was not sure what to do with it knowing I would be selling my house next year and not wanting to leave the issue with the next homeowner. I had found numerous suggestions on line of how to deal with the orange water issue myself but that was not an option! I contacted The Pure Experts and set up an appointment to have my water tested. Elias came and tested my water for numerous things and I ended up with an extremely high volume of both iron and manganese in my water. A week later, Cole set me up with a new system quickly and efficiently. From the time Elias came and tested my water to when Cole came to install the system, I felt like I was in good hands and both were willing to explain what they were doing every step of the way with their wealth of knowledge. This review is for the installation of the water softener & water filters. I'll write another review about the water quality when everbody else gets home. I grew up drinking well water so right now my tastebuds are adapting. The technician, Cole, arrived a little early which was fine (preferable even) as I think it shows good business sense. Cole was pleasant and knowledgeable of his job and the systems he installed. He answered my questions thoroughly and asked several times during the install if I had any questions. Because we have an ancient farm house we have an old cast iron farmers sink which presented a challenge for installing the water spigot there, but Cole solved it and made everything look and function as advertised. All in all a great job by a great technician. Welcome to Maine Cole, we need good people like you here.

So I've had the pleasure of sleeping with an Angel air purifier in my room for a few months now. Not only am I breathing better, but this little angel has done a great job cleaning the air. I can tell the difference when I wake up, cause my mouth is no longer a desert. It's keeping the dust under control which is also great for my electronics. Wow! Wow from start to finish to product to service. That's really what it comes down to. We received a card in the mail about free water testing. We had been concerned about our water, so "why not?" From our water district, we knew we had some lead (.2.....EPA recommends 0) and that our water came from the lake. After the water test and the discussion with Eli, we knew a water filter was necessary. The turn around and attention to detail was great, and when our 5 year old took his first sip of water with the filter he said "whew! That's what water should taste like! It's so clean!" We could not be happier. We know we are drinking truly clean water. Personally, I know longer have an upset stomach! (Something I was dealing with since we moved here a year ago) Another really random happy side effect is that we can run our jet tub without gunk building up! (Another thing that thrilled the 5 year old). Clean water is essential. It's important to have people working with you to make that happen in your home. The Pure Experts do that. We are truly thankful.

Arriving on time they were easygoing in manner but explained the science and remediation in articulate, lucid detail. The Aerus filtering seemed much better than the design we had in a previous home - and so it has proved to be. What an improvement purification makes! No more slathering with body creams, or crusty faucets and shower heads! A plumber named Paul installed the system and was most efficient, and Eli the supervisor came back to test that the purification was working. For us this change in our home was high-priority, and more successful and beneficial than we envisioned.

2 years ago I wrote a review for this company, as it was the worst service I had ever received from any company. Last week I received a call from the new owner Chris. He explained he just took over the business and wanted to make the bad experience right. Within a week, he came over and did just that. He made good on a 2 year old problem that the original owner should have taken care of. I now can't say enough good about this company and the new owner. I would recommend Aerus of Portland to all!!!!

I was asked by a friend if I needed my rug cleaned because for a small fee I could get it cleaned. I was happy because I needed it done but due to physical problems couldn't do it. A man(sorry can't remember his name) and Siehbone (probably misspelled) came and demonstrated their wonderful vacuum. I was amazed at how much dirt it pulled up as I had spent quite a while vacuuming before they came. After the demonstration he began cleaning my rug. As he worked she was so kind talking to my 17 year old cat and me and doing everything he asked. I ended up purchasing the vacuum. I is a wonderful machine makes vacuuming a lot easier and actually looks like its been vacuumed! was extremely happy with everything (except the price!) but must admit I got my moneys worth. Thanks Siehbone for being so sweet!
