They told me theyll come by 10:30am when i called at 8am. They arrived by 8:30! Finished by 9:30 cleaned the clog we had in the sewage drain, and all was good. Very informative to me as a new house owner too. Price was slightly higher than maybe some local private plumbers, but the speed of arrival and the quality of the work was worth it. They run a camera down the pipes after unclogging it and check for any other issues and explained everything after. Highly recommended

We had rotor rooter come and inspect our drains during a house renovation. They used hype powered cameras to inspect are main sewage drain and the drain that leaves the house and ends at the street where the city sewer pipes began. The team that came were professional and and consider it. Top notch!

Roto-Rooter was very responsive to my request and quickly provided all the COI and other contracts my building required. They had great availability to come and unclog my drain the next day. The service provider Christian was great - he explained everything very thoroughly to me and advised me on how to prevent the issue in the future. Roto-Rooter guarantees that if the clog re-occurs in the next 6 months they will fix it for free. I will say the service is not cheap (phew, that’s New York for you), but I was very satisfied with the service provided and prompt responses/help.

Tried a discount firm for sewage backup and they could not do the job. Bit the bullet and went high end with Roto Rooter and the team fixed the issue with ease INCLUDING video inspection after the job was completed. Should have gone with them first.

This is the 2nd time we used Rotorooter. We have an old 2 family home and we had issues in the whole house with water not going down the drain in all the sinks and showers and bathtub. Sal came in and he did some magic and boom everything was working like it should!!! He also explained to us what he had to do and what was wrong. Once again Rotorooter did right by our whole family. They sent emails and called saying they are on the way and in how long they’ll be there. Sal was on time and knew exactly what to do to fix the issues. They’re fantastic!! The lads arrived 1 hour after I called. We had an emergency sewage block and semi flooded basement. It’s certainly more expensive than you want but they will fix it! And quick! Can’t fault the Service.

The person who came was friendly and knowledgable. The fee was extraordinarily high, $700 for a clogged drain that took 5 minutes. I think that is outrageous and I asked how much it would be beforehand and was not quoted this "minimum".

Although the service seemed a bit expensive to just clear a blocked drain which made me hesitate to go forward with it; I needed to get it done. I found the technician to be very professional and he checked all drain pipes (kitchen and bathroom sinks) that were connected to my problem area (bathtub). What I first thought would be a simple job ended up being a 3 hour job requiring 3 different types of plumbing snakes to rectify. Not only that but he was able to figure out that because the drain line for my bathroom and kitchen sinks were the same as the bathtub he wasn't able to clear the blockage from just snaking the tub drain. What he ended up doing was snaking my kitchen sink pipes which resolved the issue completely. I had previously paid another plumber to attempt clearing the block and all he did was try snaking the tub before giving up and telling me he couldn't fix the problem and maybe I should try a liquid drain cleaner. Thank God I went the route of calling Roto Rooter because a liquid drain agent would have likely made my problem worse. I don't regret spending the money at all now the my drain is clear.

My drain in my kitchen sink was slow and I needed someone to come clear it. I had a local plumber clean it less than 6 months ago but the drain was slow again. Decided to try Roto Rooter based on a neighbor's suggestion. The online scheduler was easy and the text updates were prompt on the day of the appt. The fee was a bit higher but well worth the money. The plumber used a machine to get all the junk out. I highly recommend this company.

We have had an issue with our shower for almost 3 years now that no one could solve, until Raymond (tech #3537). He diagnosed the problem and even though it was no easy fix - he was determined, persistent and went above and beyond to help us - even coming in on his day off! While he was working to source a part for us, he took my calls and talked me through how to temporarily fix the issue. Im sorry if I do not remember every ones name, just a few, but please know that every single employee that came to my house was wonderful and appreciated. From the beginning Arjun and Joe were so helpful in getting the ball Rolling, all the guys who worked super hard to clean up, separate everything and break up the tile, to the workers who fixed all the piping issues, all the way to Ralph who was kind enough to drop off extra bags when the work was completed. I am a new home owner - just moved 1 day ago, and boom my toilet is backing up into my shower. Called RR and they were here within an hour. The receptionist was very kind, and patient. The technician was very friendly, and informative. He was upfront with the pricing in the beginning and when he thought he was going to need to do something else. He worked hard and was baffled by the clog because when he thought it was fixed he wasn't satisfied with the flow. He pushed and didn't give up and was able to fix the issue based off original quote. He was very informative and answered several questions. He did advise that my pipes have a dip and if this continues to happen I may want to consider replacing the pipes! Needless to say I hope and pray that this will be a one-time occurrence!

Walter from Roto Rooter arrived promptly, with a truck full of tools. He was knowledgeable, explained the process, and provided an upfront estimate. Price was fair (not great but not his fault). Walter commenced working right away, he wore a mask and gloves throughout the entire process. Job was lot harder than either Walter or I expected, and he had to rely on his expertise and 20 years experience in order to figure out how to resolve the Sewer main line issue. Walter remained calm and dedicated. It took over four hours to fix the unecpected blockage problem (large thick rubber hub) but Walter was able to, and explained the issues and process every step of the way. A true professional! Job well done, thank you Roto Rooter and thank you Walter. Recommended.

Good communication with the company. Louis was respectful, hard working, got the job done and cleaned up after himself. However, the price ($575) for snaking a drain was literally 2x any other plumber I called (not Louis' fault). If I had known the price (before the in home estimate) for simply snaking a tub I would have called someone else as it was beyond absurd.

The plumber who was supposed to come between 330 and 530 was quite late. He was very polite very knowledgeable and did the job quickly. What I find fault in is the fact that one bathroom clogged sink cost $408 and change. I find that an exorbitant price to pay for clearing a drain

We had marvelous service. We had a flood and we called Roto Rooter and Mr. Richard Alexander came that same night. He assessed the situation and helped us work with our insurance company. The crew did a great job with demolishing and packing our damaged stuff and Richard was in contact with us throughout the whole ordeal. Mr. Alexander came back to see how things were going while the men were here, and he stayed in contact with the insurance adjuster and examiner until the assessment process was done. What he did includes taking photographs and doing drawings of the affected areas. He was a real pleasure to work with. We felt confident in his and Roto Rooter’s abilities to service us and he and the company lived up to their words. The men packed and discarded the destroyed stuff and we didn’t have do the work. In closing, Richard worked with us from the beginning until the insurance company settled the claim. His service was remarkable and we were glad to work with him during such a stressful time.

I highly recommend Danny and Roto Rooter in Manhattan. He came to fix a running toilet on a holiday weekend and was super helpful. Luckily he had the necessary replacement parts on hand because hardware stores were closed for the holiday. Danny was patient during the many obstacles of what should have been a less complicated job- the water shutoff at the fixture was stuck so we had to find a ladder with no super in the building and check a bunch of access panels for the water main shutoff. Danny was a pro the whole time and fixed the problem!

Great service, had a plumbing issue and they came within about 2 hours of calling, they even called with an updated time in advance. The guys walked through everything with me, solved the problem and walked through everything at the end. A supervisor also came by to ask how everything went. Everyone was amazingly helpful and they were very upfront with expected costs, nothing hidden or thrown in at the last minute. Would definitely recommend and I will probably be using their services again!

The Roto Rooter representative/plumber that arrive was Alex. Firstly, he was wearing PPE's, so was I. He came in to evaluate my plumbing issues, explained it to me in a comprehensive manner, including the repair course of action and its cost. Throughout the process he was diligent in his efforts to service the job, even though there were some difficult moments. However, always showed the problems causing my plumbing issues, explained the repair process and was extremely professional, we even had a few laughs. Sunday evening and a tenant called to tell me the toilet is backed up and the plunger is just not doing the job. Unhappily I called the company I have always used...after 3 calls in as many hours, they never answered leaving me no choice but to Google another company. This company answered the phone so quickly took all my information and had a plumbing tech respond within minutes. He arrived at the house within the hour as promised and called immediately to explain what he found and the best way to approach it and exactly what it was going to cost. It took him about 20 minutes and he called saying he was done and the clog was resolved. He took the exact payment over the phone and he was off and gave me a 6 month warranty. Curtious, kind, professional and honest. Here lies my new company... and my old company, still has not called back!

From day 1 the staff has been responsive to the needs of our unfortunate occurrence. We have had a terrible overFlow of water and damage in our home and I can not be thankful for the service they have provided. The follow up of how the progress of the clean up has been great. When we needed questions answered we were immediately contacted. One gentlemen went so far as to show up at our home to check and see if things were ok emotional because of the anxiety we were experiencing while the clean up was completed to a point. We don’t wish this upon anyone but some of the employees have gone beyond what others would have done.

The technician Chris was exactly on time and very personable. He was able to access our situation and he even went out of his way to look in the basement of our shared wall neighbor to make sure the leak wasn’t coming from their side. I have been having problems with the plumbing in the new house i moved in to. I had several visits from Roto-Rooter but technician # 2665 Frank Mamakos, came for the third visit and offered the best solution to the issues including a guarantee. He was thorough, efficient and clear about why and how the matter had arisen. I recommend this company and if you can have him handle your matter, you are in great hands.

Tech was excellent. Very polite and knowledgable. Went beyond what was expected even helping cleanup. Not related to tech I'm not sure what normal service costs but 485 dollars seems a bit excessive to snake a 20 foot section of pipe. Luckily I had a 40 dollar coupon and they also gave a 40 dollar discount for arriving a bit later than expected. All in all good job.

I called on a Sunday afternoon and roto-rooter quickly scheduled a plumber for later that same evening. The scheduling office was very friendly and called back several times to give updates on the plumber's arrival time. The plumber was knowledgeable and worked very quickly to clear our drains. The cost was a little on the high side, but given the Sunday evening quick turn around time, we were okay with it. I will use them again!

This was a good travel back in time of great customer service and professionalism that is unfortunately disappearing today The mechanic name William came to my house listen patiently my explanation of the problem (The shower drain was clogged and it was impossible to access it with the snake) I had another so called plumber a day before who spent 2 hours trying to force his way through the drain pipe with very powerful snake tools unsuccessfully. So this guy William stood there for a few minutes going through the ideas in his head and said we have to get in there from the other side . And he did and the job was done nice and clean. Mike2054 arrived when they said he would, but it was much later than the 12:00 to 4:00pm time frame that was set up. However the company offered me a discount for my time which I appreciated. After discovering a sewer line backup in the basement, I immediately called Roto-Rooter. I was quickly scheduled for a same day appointment. A representative called back an hour later stating that there would be a slight delay, but that a technician would arrive at a certain time,which he promptly did. The tree roots were quickly unblocked from the pipe and the problem was solved. All in all things went very well but they were a little pricey, which from experience, I found that most all plumbers will charge more for an emergency situation. Another satisfied customer...

It was an unfortunate way to be able to experience Roto Rooter's superb customer service. I saw my toilet leaking through the base, . I immediately thought Roto Rooter, I decided to call them up, I was greeted with an unexpected animated voice "Roto Rooooooooooooooooooooooote" which was hysterical and immediately . I thought it was a cool way to start off a conversation making this unfortunate situation into funny and light hearted. The customer service representative was very personable and arranged an appointment at my earliest convenience, since both me and my wife worked and didn't get back home till 630pm , he was able to send someone that same night at 7pm! We were both relieved for obvious reason that the bathroom situation would be handled ASAP! At 7pm I heard the doorbell rang and I was like wow how prompt is that not a minute later. The service man was at the door and went into the bathroom where the leak was. After a few minutes the service man told me what needed to be replaced and told me the price was going to be $350. I thought the price was steep but I needed the problem fixed. After about 10-15 minutes the technician told me he needed to go to Home Depot to pick up a part to fix the leak. After about 20 minutes the serviceman told me he had bad news and the price was going to go up a bit because he needed to cement another piece in order for the toilet not to leak. So the price wound up being over $525. Yes, the service man fixed the problem but the last minute price jump definitely hurt my pockets. It was an unexpected problem however they did come to our rescue. I would recommend to the company to let us know what the price would be before the job is done to at least prepare us to hear the "damage" in our pockets. It was definitely a poopy situation (pun intended hahaha). Thank you RR!

I had a clogged drain that was causing wastewater backup in my basement. Luis came out that same evening and spent a couple hours snaking the drain from multiple places. It wasn’t straightforward and easy to clear the clog, but he was patient and stuck with it until we finally cleared the clog around 1am. There are cheaper services out there, but they did not pick up the phone on a Sunday night, or they would not send someone out until the morning. Today I placed a call to Roto-Rooter because I had a sewer drain backup in my back yard. Of course the smell was horrible. My call was picked up right away and I was told that a technician would be at my home between 12 noon and 2pm. The time was perfect for me because I pickup my grand-daughters at 3:30pm from school. I received a call from Roto-Rooter to inform me that a representative would be at my home within 40 minutes. Chris (1674) arrived he introduced himself and he was wearing a Roto-Rooter jacket. He asked what was the problem and I explained. He wanted to see in my garage where the sewer line ran to the street. He instantly said from the odor, "Oh yeah, you have a sewer backup problem." He removed the valves to see how bad the problem was. He explained I had two options to snake out the line and clean it out or I could have a power water pumped through the line to clean all the buildup from the pipe walls and it would last longer. Naturally that cost more. I chose to clear the line with the snake. Chris also told me that grease is a problem because of the shape of the pipes. The grease builds up and gets hard and eventually the line cloaks up.He showed me how to properly close the valve back over the lines. He asked me to flush the toilets about three times and fill my bathtub with hot water so he could be sure the lines where flowing. He checked the back yard to make sure it was clear. He was thorough and knew his job. He was professional and at the same time friendly as well as knowledgeable about his job.. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter in the event I have another problem.

They were courteous on the phone and able to come earlier than planned window to repair a broken pipe under a bathroom sink. An emergency but not a dire emergency. The tech was professional, careful of my home, knew what he was doing. Job was completed much quicker than I expected. Did not try to upsell me on anything. My only issue is that in replacing an old pipe a hole/gap was left in the tile which had been covered by a plate which had rusted away. I'd expect sealing that with caulk to just be part of the service but apparently it isn't. I now have to go to home depot and buy cauk and seal the hole myself.

They quickly diagnosed the problem -- a clogged drain (with a garbage disposal) performed the repair (which involved removing and re-installing the disposal. My only "issue" was the price -- $456 including tax -- but after a week without a kitchen drain and after another plumber was unable to repair the clog, the RR price was -- if not reasonable then certainly acceptable.

We spent most of the weekend trying to unclog our bathroom tub. Used various drain cleaners, bought a snake and enlisted our handyman to no avail. Finally gave up and called Roto Router on Sunday after church. Shortly after, Tony came and exorcised the clog. He was friendly, efficient and even cleaned up after himself. Very grateful!

I had a leak coming in from the kitchen/dining room ceiling; leak was coming from the bathroom upstairs. Roto Rooter came. Said they would have to break open the ceiling before figuring out how much it would cost to repair, which I was ok with. This cost me $300 to find the problem which would be included in the payment if I decided to go ahead with the Repair. Made 2 holes in the ceiling and determined where the leak was coming from. Service rep Andrew (2381) said it's somewhere under the sink, and I would need to get a general contractor to remove the sink/vanity before they could remove the floor and fix the leak. To me, the leak didn't seem to be from under the sink, So I had say, let's use a measuring tape and see where leak could be. We measured downstairs, then went up to see where exactly the leak was. And we determined it was not under the sink but behind the toilet and we didn't need to take out the vanity and rip the floor. He had to remove the toilet and break my tile and then found a leak in a tee feeding hot water to sink. He removed the tee and approx. 3 feet of brass pipe on both the cold and hot water side. Price he gave me was $925+ Tax. So expensive, but I just didn't want to deal with the leak and just said go ahead. Pros: Came in the evening, around 7 pm. Found the leak around 8 pm and fixed the problem by 10 pm. Eventually found the leak and fixed it. Upfront about the price. There was a $40 discount coupon on their website that I was able to use, so ended up paying about $960. Cons: Ways too expensive!! Didn't like the fact that I had to suggest measuring where the leak could be, as he initially had it wrong and suggested I have someone take out the sink, which would have cost me more time and money, and would have been a waste.

Mike and Jakai came out to my home and was able to remove Styrofoam and paper from my sewer. Apparently, the Styrofoam must have entered by sewer through my gutters where construction work has been happening next door. As a result, water in my backyard was not draining and I was unable to flush the toilets in my house. I am thankful that they were able to move the obstruction and now everything is back to normal.

We had a sewage backup/flood in our basement. Although there were some initial delays in getting a plumber out to us, Roto-Rooter's service was excellent from then on. The plumber Akini unclogged the cleanout promptly and within two hours a manager named AJ sent a cleanup crew from the Staten Island branch. The cleanup crew of Caleb, Max, and Sergey were really great -- they got everything out of the basement in a few hours, and were great guys. Also, AJ was right on top of sorting things out with our insurance company, which was a relief. A raw sewage flood in your basement is always a sh*tty experience, so to speak, but Roto-Rooter came to the rescue really nicely and we're grateful for it. I dont usually post reviews but these guys deserved a good one.

My problem was not fixed. Still, I give Chris very high marks. He did everything right. I have a drain that is clogged with cement. He put a camera down to see what the blockage was. He tried all the tools at his disposal to break it up. He was not successful, but it was definitely not for lack of trying. He worked hard for see arak hours and charged a very reasonable amount. I Called Roto-Rooter to clear what was a main drain clog in the kitchen. What it turned out to be was a plumbing nightmare. The pipes being over a hundred years old were breaking at the slightest touch. A section of the main drain pipe broke between 2 floors and Steve worked patiently and quickly to resolve the problem.
