Will and Gene came to our house for a very difficult job involving diagnosing and replacing leaking and rusted heating pipes buried underground. They were prompt, professional, clean, polite and knowledgeable. The job took 2 days to complete and they made sure everything was working properly and in good condition before they left. On the final day they stayed until 10:30pm to finish the job and make sure we had heat and hot water before the temperatures really dropped. I would recommend this company to friends and family and will continue to use them for any plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs in the future. Will and Gene were phenomenal and a pleasure to have in our home. They left the house spotless when they were done.

Never showed up, never called! *** UPDATE *** I am updating my rating from 1 star to 4 based on subsequent contact with Petri. It is now pretty clear to me that my bad experience was an honest mistake, a one off. I base this on the reaction of Petri's to my complaint and to my low rating. I received a number of emails from the company, including from the owner, explaining the mistake and apologizing profusely. Many of you might think, "Of course they are apologizing, they want to get a higher rating from you." Common sense, but in my experience, not common practice. Many, if not most, of the plumbers I have dealt with do not seem to care, or are not set up to respond to complaints by their customers in a meaningful way. There are plenty of other customers for them not to worry about the occasional complaint. I think that when a company who reacts towards me as Petri has, it shows that their reputation is a priority for them. Although I did not get to hire them for this particular job, I suspect that this overreaction to follow up and redress their mistake and to maintain their reputation are good indicators of what kind of company I would be dealing with in the future. Together with the other comments about the quality of their actual work, I would have no problem recommending them to anybody else.

William and Aron did a superb job at our home. Our sewage pipe cracked and when they came, they were professional in all ways. Firstly, they were efficient with time. Secondly, they cleaned up everything. The debris from the pipe, the wall was hosed down after the installation, the garbage can they used was hosed down and washed and even the sidewalk where debris from the drop cloth came off was swept and hosed down. Our pipe is working extremely well! William even educated me on some of the pipes in the basement. Thank you, Petri Plumbing, for having two great professional plumbers and plumber apprentice like William and Aron!

They completed their work with minimal interruption and did a fantastic job, explaining the work to me clearly. They were even available to make an unplanned emergency visit to a neighbor, who was having a severe backflow issue. We contacted Petri Plumbing for bathtub drain clearing because our neighbor used them and had a great experience. Scheduling was easy, they are very responsive but also in high demand so they were unable to come immediately. The plumber showed up early and was very respectful to our apartment, wore shoe covers and looked at the issue then provided a quote before the work is started. It was about $317 for the drain clearing. It took him 15-20 min and he got a massive clog out of the shower, the shower worked again! The plumber suggested that we have a drain cover to catch hair and to pour baking soda then hot water & vinegar every two weeks to clean the drain from hair but not damage the pipes (vs. draino). I will definitely use them again, it was pricey but I think quality work and inflation has increased costs for everyone.

Called them up two times. First time was to assess a malfunctioning boiler and get a quote on a swap. The representative who came was very presentable and representative of the brand. The quote I received was outside my budget at the time but the scope of work presented with it was certainly professional and thorough for a long-lasting system. Second time I called them up it was around the holidays to fix a plugged pigtail. Everyone's boiler systems were acting up so they were short staffed like every other company. They were professional and courteous about the exchange and when to reasonably expect service.

Will is the man. He did a great job and was a really positive person. The Job: we discovered we had a fully clogged main sewer line that was emptying all water waste into our cellar - toilets, showers, sinks, etc. Petri dispatched Will to our place fully prepared to fix it. Once he started, he made quick work of it - less than an hour in and out. Petri isn't the cheapest option, but as with most things you get what you pay for.

Petri is exactly what I needed-- professional, on-time, and straight to business. We thought we had a gas leak, but the gas company came out 3 times and could not find anything-- Petri came and found it immediatly, and got the permit pulled immediately and took care of business. They even came back the next day free of charge to double-make-sure we were all good. Both repairmen were professional, and nice, and knowledgeable. We've found our Brooklyn company now, Petri from here on out!

I appreciated the swift availability-I called early in the morning with an emergency and someone was there within a couple hours. The pricing is pretty steep, almost laughably so, especially when my particular situation ended up becoming a day-long ordeal because we received faulty equipment-not once, but twice. I can't say enough nice things about Joey though. Even though we ultimately weren't successful in recovering a lost item, it was comforting how professional, friendly, and helpful he was. The pricing is a bit absurd, but Joey was an absolute gem!

I had a major drain issue in less then 1hour that was solved when they arrived. The main project to replace check valves and grinding pumps to a sump pump system They went above and beyond to do this in 2 days. the exceed my expectation. Great job guys kudos to Petri Plumbing.

They come nice and clean clothes put on there boot protector to keep there shoes clean then the hit you with a price that is out of control can't believe they were the highest price and I was shocked at 6500 over what I was charged by another plumber and petri even wanted $96 just to come to give me a estimate that was ridiculous

I found Petri online and they got such good reviews I decided to take a chance. Petri did not disappoint! From the moment I called, Chris was super friendly. I was able to get an appointment for our busted sink pipe the very next morning! We were sent and email and text with the name of our tech/repair man coming as well as a photo of them so we knew who to expect. Jose Ramirez came right on time, was super polite and professional and did an amazing job. He replaced the broken pipe and the drain all within an hour! I received an email follow up to make sure we were pleased with their work, and got a follow up phone call from Lauren who also was able to give me a recommendation for some other home repairs we needed. Every person who works here receives an A++ from us and we will be using then again for all our plumbing needs and recommend them without reservation.

I wrote a review in July about my first time calling Petri Plumbing. For the work to be done a permit from the City was needed. This week in October the permit was issued and the job has been completed. I had the pleasure of having this significant plumbing issue worked on and completed by Michele and Thomas. They are both very personable and pleasant to interact with. They explained their work clearly. They were very focused and professional in manner. They were very neat and made the best effort to leave the job cleaner than when they found it. That is an important and noticeable practice. Michele also discovered a problem with the vent from my new water heater. He informed me quickly and I was able to have the problem fixed by the installer that day before a more serious issue occurred. Again Petri Plumbing left me feeling satisfied and secure in the quality of their work. Possibly not the cheapest game in town but expert. And cheap can be expensive! I WILL use their service again. Bill is very competent, through and clearly communicates what the variables are. The installation went better than we could expect...very professional. I had an excellent experience with Petri Plumbing and would highly recommend them. It was late July and my central air conditioning system stopped working. I called the company that installed the system but they were unresponsive so I went on to Angie's List. I saw that Petri had very good ratings and I recall seeing their trucks in the area. I spoke to Chris Petri and he set up an appointment for later in the day. I received two calls later in the day with ETA information. Then they sent a text with a picture of the person, Steven Berger, who could repair the system. He arrived on time and had on a mask; they are serious about Covid-19 safety. He diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning capacitor. He had the part with him and replaced it. We were back up and running soon after. Petri can accept a payment from a digital wallet and they take credit cards. I received an invoice a few minutes later. During the repair, I signed up for an annual service contract for what seemed like a fair price, so Steven came out the next week and inspected the rest of the system. It was a very good customer service and I appreciated that they use available technology to stay in touch with the customer.

It was my first time using PETRI Plumbing. I was very happy with the service. Chris Petri who was very pleasant on the phone called to confirm and they also sent an email. They also sent an email with a picture of the person coming so you don’t have to worry about letting a stranger in. The technician Jeremy was great, especially given the pandemic. He came fully protected with masks etc, even wearing shoe coverings which he replaced when re-entering the house. He replaced the faucet the same day and left the kitchen spotless, unlike other plumbers I’ve had. I was extremely happy with the service and would definitely use them again.

We have used Petri multiple times over the past few years, most often for maintenance our air conditioning units, but also for clogs and other drainage issues. In each case, they were able to resolve the issues quickly for a fair price. But my favorite thing about Petri is their overall customer service and communication - they send email or text reminders, including photos and information about the technician who will be coming to your home, so you know who to expect and when. They also follow up after repairs to confirm that everything continues to work as expected. I have also found them to be thoughtful and safe during recent work we needed to have done during the COVID pandemic.

Matthew was very professional and skilled at helping us locate the leak in the kitchen pipes. We previously have a task rabbit replace the pipes and it was still leaking. Matthew diagnosed the problem and was great at explaining what the issues were to us. He was able to fix the leak and troubleshoot issues as they arose. I've worked with Petri on a few issues in my apartment. Early last year Bill came and fixed an internal fan inside my HVAC unit that had been making a horrible scraping noise for 2 years. I had another company come three times before I called Petri, and they couldn't fix the issue. Bill worked patiently and was honest and up front about costs. He also helped me troubleshoot and improve a heat distribution issue I was having because of my high ceilings. He was incredibly helpful. I can't say enough about our experience with Petri and particularly our technician Jeremy Rivera. We received a time slot to install some kitchen fixtures in less than 24 hours after calling, and our building's insurance requirements were handled within an hour. The morning of our appointment, we received an advance call to let us know about a cancellation, asking if it was OK for Jeremy to start early. When our seemingly simple job proved to be more complicated than it looked, Jeremy gave us appropriate guidance, worked with the staff in our building to solve the issues, and never once made us feel rushed or pressured until the work was done right and properly tested. They answered immediately and sent Will who came in 20 minutes, inspected, gave me a free estimate, and then ordered the new heater for me. I didn’t know that Petri Plumbing is so professional and reliable. My flushometer toilet had leaked over the past Thanksgiving break. I didn’t know who to call and didn’t want to use the same guy from another plumbing company who only did half the job on my bathroom sink and took off in the past? I said to myself, no thanks! Gotta find a pro to do it this time. I eventually wanted to google it online and found Petri. Everyone said Petri Plumbing is good? But I wasn’t sure and at least, I gave it a try. Petri Plumbing not only made themselves available on a Sunday, generally a closed day for most service businesses, Leagh, my point person on this project was a dream to speak with. She kept me up to date, she never made me feel like I was a nuisance or that my stress over the situation was unfounded and she worked with me to get everything I needed communicated to the work team ahead of time so they could accomplish everything the first time. Joe and Mike and Jeremy and the team at Petri did an excellent job fixing an issue with my boiler. They provided me with thorough options and proposals for fixing it, and were patient with my questions along the way. I had a gas leak in my basement and National Grid shut my gas off around noon. I called a few plumbers but only Petri could send someone that day. Junior came in the afternoon and saw it was a day's work and gave me a quote. The next morning Joe was here by 8am by 3 the job was done. With their coaching I did not accept National Grids rep telling me it would take three days to get someone here to turn the gas back on. They came the next day due to my annoying insistence. Petri is the best! We noticed a leak in our boiler yesterday - the evening of Dec 23rd - and contacted Petri after a quick Google search. They were responsive the night of, Sunday evening, exchanging emails with me until 10pm to understand the issue. Joe and another very nice gentleman showed up on Christmas Eve a couple hours earlier than expected, but only after calling to check if that was ok (which it was, and more convenient anyway given the holiday). They fixed everything in under 2 hours and it was not a small job, unfortunately for all of us. Was it expensive? Maybe, all plumbing is. If I could fix my own plumbing it would be cheaper, but I can’t. These guys were pros - polite, fast, and they cleaned up. I will always hire Petri from here on out. Merry Christmas.

Not sure how good their work is because they never showed up. Initial call was great, gave me an appointment, sent an email confirmation the day before, even called me the day of with an eta, however they never showed up. Update 1/10/19: Okay so I got a phone call, an apology, and a new appointment shortly after my initial post. Do yourself a favor and hire these guys. They are professional and know what they're doing. Long story short I had a boiler installed by another outfit which turned out to be somewhat of a disaster. Joe from Petri showed up to correct the situation. Diagnosed the problem with the boiler, gave an accurate estimate of the cost AND gave recommendations for other potential plumbing maintenance, plus service with a smile. Also called a couple days later to make sure everything was working. I wish I would have found and hired them first. Thanks again Joe!!

They were able to come out the next day, on a Sunday morning. I had been experiencing heating issues on/off in my apartment since last winter (2016) and have had other plumbers come in to "fix" the issues, but only temporarily. My only concern with the company is you pay an added (considerable) fee to become a member (if you choose) where one of the perks is faster service/arrival time but there’s no guarantee on when They’ll actually make it to you God forbid I have an emergency during the season .

I found Petri Plumbing & Heating via Google. After realized this is a family business existed for more than one hundred years, I already felt reasonably assured. My later on experiences with them exceeded my expectations. I have a Weil-McLain high efficiency gas boiler in my building which supplies hot water and heat to five residential units. Unfortunately, it became lockout itself repeatedly during a period of cold weather time and became dead eventually. In panic, I searched online and just called any company appeared first. I contacted more than 10 heating companies. Some promised to come but kept changing the date and never showed up without any notification. Some showed up but did not know how to address the issue. Some showed up and pretended to do something in order to justify their bills. Of course, my boiler problem remained the same after wasted my time and money. Left felt hopeless, I finally found Petri Plumbing and Heating. They listened to my descriptions of the boiler problem carefully and sent a very experienced plumber, his name is Junior, to my site to investigate it. Junior thoroughly inspected my heating system and came up with a plan and assurance. That was a job toke several phases and days to complete. It involved multiple schedules and follow ups. Petri Plumbing and Heating is always available when you call. You can also ask to speak to their manager, Chris, whenever its necessary. They always listen to your concerns patiently and take actions accordingly. Junior, the plumber who completed the whole job is very professional, eager to meet the challenges arising in the job, patient, and most of all a perfectionist. He always tries to achieve the best possible results for you. It is completely in contrast to someone who just does the minimum to get by. If you need reliable Plumbing and Heating services, don't waste your time and money trying around, Petri is the only one you need. I wish I knew this at the beginning. Update: The company owner responded to me immediately after I voiced my concern over the lack of receipt and sent it to me right away. He was nice and courteous in our conversations, which shows that their professionalism and customer service is very high on their priority list and it's nice to see that in any company. It's not 5 stars only for two reasons. First, I feel like it would be better if your technicians educated clients more on their initial visit, because it turned out that only a few companies are certified by NatGrid to do this kind of job, which obviously I learned the hard way. And second is the price, which was the reason I refused their service in the first place. But considering what did I had to go through to get a certified technician who will do everything as required by new NatGrid standards, I might've reconsidered if I knew how it works from the beginning.

Mike Petri and his colleagues are as good as it gets in terms of technical expertise, client service, responsiveness and professionalism. They do not come cheaply, but for major jobs it is sometimes worth paying a modest premium for peace of mind and the knowledge that the job will be done right and that service will be available 24/7. The boiler in my four story Park Slope brownstone died on a recent Sunday during a very cold spell in Brooklyn, and Mike was the only one of the three plumbers I called who answered my call and showed up that day at exactly the time he said he would. He spent a couple of hours with me diagnosing the issues, going over the options, taking measurements and providing advice on how to keep my house warm and my pipes from freezing until I could replace the boiler. He called again that night to make sure everything was OK. Mike's quote was on the high end, but still within range of the other options, and included two years of future service calls and an extended warranty that the competition did not offer. While there are other highly competent options, I felt more comfortable going with a local, family-owned business that I knew would be responsive, and so I asked Mike to do the job. Mike's team, led by the polite and professional Arsen, started promptly (during a snowstorm) and completed the work without a hitch and without a sign that they had been there, aside from the elegantly installed new Burnham boiler; their work was completed speedily and immaculately. I have never before had work done on my house unattended, but I felt comfortable enough to leave Arsen with a key to my house because I needed to leave town before he started. During my absence I received regular status calls and emails from Mike and Arsen, including before and after photographs. Mike and Arsen were prompt, helpful and utterly professional, and I have no hesitation in recommending them. They charge a full price, but they absolutely provide full value.

Initial contact with Petri for kitchen sink pipe output flooding into basement on a Saturday. Once problem was corrected we needed to replace H2O tank and check for any blockage of drains to street as there is a tree in front of the house. UPDATE: Michael O’Brien went above and beyond to remedy the below situation by personally showing up, (albeit still after the window), to make the situation right. My ACs are now up and running 36 hours after they broke. Michael is looking into fixing another previous problem of a super noisy condensate pump. If he figures that out, will definitely be a 5 star update.
