Scheduling was quick and easy. Got me on a holiday weekend before going out of town. Great communication and arrived on time. Kenny quickly inspected my toilet and told what needed repair but also what was in good shape. Kenny did the repair quickly. Showed me what he replaced. Quick follow up from Rotor Rooter to make sure I was satisfied. Will definitely use again for my plumbing needs

The Technician arrived little late but still within the time frame. He installed 2 toilets well. He did give us $100 discount which was great! He took the packed new toilet upstairs, unpacked, removed old one and hauled old one away. Same he did for the one downstairs. There was no leak and he did warn us of possible pipe break while installing as our house is old. But fortunately nothing happened and all went well. I definitely recommend Roto Rooter as I had pleasant experience with them twice. Before this they had installed my Kitchen Faucet well without any problems. They are truly professional at what they do..!

The crew has been amazing. Josh and Anna came to our home and walked us through the process of what we were facing after a soft clog flood occurred at our home. They took their time with us, explained everything and even dealt with insurance claims to take the stress off of us. This has made a very stressful situation 10 times easier on us to have these guys who really do care and go above and beyond to get the job done. Editing to add the other staff that came through our home during our whole fiasco. First I want to start with Jo Jo. Jo Jo came in on a Sunday and fixed the initial issue that caused our flood. He was punctual, nice and a hard worker. He later came back for the additional problem we faced with an upstairs leak, and again walked us through what was happening and got us fixed up to hopefully have no more problems in the future. Then there is Casey and Kim. These two are the absolute BEST! I was so thankful for them. They became like family after spending over a week every day in our home cleaning up the mess that occurred! These two are what me and my husband refer to as the dynamic duo! They were the real MVPs in this process! Once again this whole company is top notch and one we will always call if needed in the future!

Called Rotor Rooter to come out and look at a sewer backup problem in my home that another company was unable to fix correctly. The people at Rotor Rooter were very friendly and professional and sent a technician out that afternoon. The technician fed a camera into the pipe and showed me the problem causing the backup. He was able to get it cleared temporarily so I could use the bathroom that evening. He gave me a qoute for the repairs and took the time to set up financing for me, even though by this time it was late in the evening. Both the technician and the gentleman helping with financing over the phone, and already home for the day, were very accommodating. They took care of getting locates and were at my home the next morning to start the job. By the time I got home from work that afternoon, the repair was complete and the yard filled back in and graded. I want to give a big shout out and thank you to Jeremy, Oliver, Tony and Josh for such great work and professionalism. They took care of my problem, were respectful of my property and did a great job. Rotor Rooter has very fair and competitive pricing. They have a very satisfied customer and will always get my business anytime I need any plumbing services. I highly recommend Rotor Rooter for your plumbing needs.

Technician 287 Johnny Gentry was personable and professional. I had a horrible experience for a week with 3 other companies. He never complained or bad mouth the others just professionally assessed the issue, while keeping me informed every step of the way. Work was well done, faucet is like new. We will see if the washing machine leak repair worked. Using it today for the first time since the repair. Only complaint is the employee did not clean up after the job so there was water and leaves all over my floor. Very expensive too. (1.5-2hours of work, no new parts, $600)

Sewer backed up, nothing in the house would drain --> called Roto-Rooter at 10pm --> Jeremy from Roto-Rooter showed asap and identified the initial problem as an "obstruction" in the sewer line from my clean-out to the cities clean-out in the front yard --> after some mighty efforts, Jeremy was able to clear the "obstruction" --> he then ran the camera through the line (mind you this was all at about 1am) and identified a "break" in the line with root intrusion into the pipe causing said "obstruction" --> Jeremy then outlined how they could fix the problem the very next day, and helped set that up. Very responsive and professional...and the assistance didn't stop there; Jeremy made himself available via phone and said to call him anytime. I have contacted him numerous times and he always assists with the utmost of kindness and professionalism. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This team is phenomenal!! Jermey unclogged the blocked sewer line at 1am in the morning!! Returned 8am in the morning with a camera and Jon, the three of us clearly determined that were several root intrusion’s and several joint separations in over half the line. Two options were given of partial line replacement or total line replacement. My wife and I elected for the total line replacement. This it what sets this team apart, the team showed up the next morning ready to roll!! Installed a 160 foot 4” pvc schedule 40 line in time for my family not to be inconvenienced with no service!! I had a great experience a couple of months ago. Out toilet frequently got clogged and the issue decreased significantly. A couple of days ago we got a clog that wouldn't go away so I called per the warranty yo get it checked. The receptionist was very pleasant when I called and they got a technician back out within an hour. When the technician got here though he kept asking me if water was coming up in the tub again and I stated we never had that issue. He later was running water in the sink and said he saw no bubbles and I reiterated we didn't have issue previously. He asked for the previous invoice which I showed him which proved there was no issue like that. He kept saying he doesn't think the issue is the same so it wouldn't be covered under the warranty if he had to do something different. That it is something in the bowl and not the pipe but couldn't RED FLAG. He kept saying if something is clogged in the bowl it won't be covered. It still did not make sense to me so I explicitly stated "just do what is under warranty" and he said he would. A few moments later he said it was something in the bowl and that he already unclogged it which is not under warranty and would be $225! He claimed I told him to do whatever. He then said he would mark it as a "recall" once I stated I was going to call the company. It resolved the issue but it put a very bad taste in my mouth that he even tried something like that.

It was a pleasure working with roto rooter techs. They installed a well water softener system in my home and I am pleased I can already feel a slight improvement in the texture of my water already. I called when we started having sewage backing up in the yard of our new house and our regular plumber wasn't able to resolve the problem. Our regular plumber had recommended we call someone to "jet the line" since they weren't able to. Johnny Gentry is the one who came out. He was very professional and knowledgeable. After checking the sewer line he told us that the line was blocked by a plug that the city put in, and had someone jetted the line like we were told it would have caused the sewage to back up into our house. I am so glad that Johnny was knowledgeable and let us know to never have the lines in our house jetted. He wasn't able to remove the plug since it was put there by the city, but he told us exactly what to do to get the problem resolved. I will definitely be trusting roto-rooter for any future plumbing issues.

I called and received an appointment time . The technician, Mr Robinson came earlier than appointment but Roto Rooter called to receive approval to come early. Mr Robinson came in, assessed the situation and gave an estimate at the beginning. He explained what steps he would need to do and asked if I wanted him to proceed. As Mr Robinson became aware of further repairs were needed he advised me of what additional steps he would need to do. He received permission to continue and he gave me the new estimate. I am thankful I now can use my plumbing. Flushing a commode never sounded so good.

I highly recommend Roto-Rooter! I tried for several MONTHS to have 6+ local plumbers in the Orangeburg area to fix a drain issue in an older house. One scheduled an appointement and did not show up and was never heard from again. The rest told me to call back in a 'few weeks' as they were too busy to assist me at the moment. None offered to schedule an appointment. The problem continued to get worse. What began as a kitchen sink not draining evolved into the toilet and showers not draining and/or backing up as well. I contacted Roto-Rooter which is in Columbia but they service the Orangeburg area. They were extremely helpful and were there the very next morning exactly when they said they would be. Great communication from the beginning. Johnny Gentry listened to what the issue was and immediately began looking for the cause. He explained what the problem was, what was needed and the cost. He cleaned the drain going to our septic tank and resolved multiple issues in the bathroom and kitchen within a few hours. He even helped me with replacing the wax ring on the toilet which was not part of the original issue. Johnny was very professional and did a great job. I intend to call them for any future problems.

We noticed a back up in our sink. Technician Sage H (#0277) responded quickly & got here right away. He wore shoe covers and checked several sinks and drains - not just the one with the problem. He asked questions to understand our issue and determine when things were slow draining. The thing I was most impressed with was how thorough he was in explaining things to me and in answering all my questions. He broke things down into "everyday" terms instead of using plumbing terms and gave simple examples that helped me really understand what his diagnosis was. I didn't feel like I was being sold things or services I didn't need and I felt he was earnest in his research and repair. I asked him to call my spouse to discuss one of the issues and he did without hesitation. I wouldn't hesitate to call Roto-Rooter again and will request Sage if we ever need a return visit. Jeremy Oliver completed 3 services for my home and I am pleased with the results. He communicated best practices for the work I needed. Thank you Jeremy. Update: After leaving, my toilet was still leaking, the piping under the sink was not glued causing it to leak, and the refrigerator cord he replaced was leaking because he didn't use teflon tape. (All 3 services cost ~$1,000.) After 2 other plumbers came to my house eventually the owner had to come and fix everything himself. I would not recommend Jeremy Oliver. He told me he had 30 years of experience and I believed him at first but after seeing the mistakes he made led me to believe he is not a master of his skill. I initially did the review bc of some promotion the company was doing. Overall, im happy the ordeal is over and the owner apologized and fixed what I initially paid for.

When other companies dragged their feet, the RR team worked together between the plumbing and the water restoration teams to get the mess under our house cleaned up as soon as possible. We had a problem with our bathroom being both stopped up on the weekend. We called Roto-Rooter and within 20 minutes they arrived. Jeremy Oliver was our plumber. He is incredible person. He identified the problem, told us the cost and what he was going to do. He was very professional and very knowledgeable about our problem. He was able to get one bathroom working and has scheduled a second appointment to get the other one fixed. Although it cost us quite a bit, it was worth the money. I would recommend this company but keep in mind that it is not going to be very cheap, but the cost is reasonable for what they did.

On Presidents' Day afternoon, I accidentally broke the outdoor spigot off our house by yanking too hard on a garden hose. While I frantically tried to turn off the water supply, my wife got on the phone to call for help. After calling a much-advertised plumber to find that they could not send anyone out until the following day, she called Roto-Rooter and spoke to a very professional and competent young lady who said that they had a plumber in our area and would get him out between 3 and 5 PM. When Johnny arrived around 4:30, he immediately figured out what to do and provided an estimate. He then crawled under the house and got to work replacing the spigot and replacing a section of pipe under the house. He checked under the house one last time after turning the water back on to make sure nothing was leaking. I cannot say enough about Johnny's competence and professionalism. I recommend this young man and this company to anyone reading this. I hope we don't have another disaster like this, but we will definitely call Roto-Rooter first thing. Macon came to our home at 2 am to help us turn off the water after our pipe burst. He helped us by telling us we needed to file to insurance and then waited patiently while we got in contact with them. He was a joy to have in our home at such a troubling time. My upstairs toilet was leaking through the floor to the downstairs ceiling. It was leaking from under the toilet tank even though toilet was cut off. I called several times for a plumber but either they didn’t show up or didn’t service my town. I had to keep dumping containers every 2 hours and could not sleep. This went on for a long while. My husband is disabled and so am I so this was a bad situation. I called Roto-Rooter and they sent someone out within 2 hours. Isaac was very courteous and professional. Our office in Columbia was having plumbing issues that a few other plumbers were not able to diagnose. I called Roto Rooter and Tim arrived roughly 40 minutes after I called for an emergency. Tim was very polite and clearly communicated with me what we were up against when he discovered a root intrusion in the main sewer line. When he realized the problem was bigger than anticipated, he immediately called me and let me know we needed to have the sewer line jetted and provided photos for me. He went the extra mile for me and communicated what needed to happen with their office and helped get us on the schedule for the next morning. BEYOND DISAPPOINTED We have been loyal customers for years! Recently, started having problems with the main line, and called RotoRooter. The technician came out and (without even looking) asked for $450. When we paid, he used his machine to clear the pipe two times and said that he believed the problem was NOT solved, and that they couldn’t do anything more than that. He refused to do the clean more than He charged us $450 in advance KNOWING that he won’t resolve the issue. That’s a RIP OFF! When I called to complain, they just brushed me off. I would like to begin my review by letting everyone know that Chris is an amazing plumber. He came out and advised me on what needed to be done after purchasing a New Gas Water Heater from Lowe’s that did not work. At that point my hot water was not working for almost a month and I was frustrated. After purchasing a second water heater and having it installed by a self employed plumber I soon learned that water heater would not work either. After 2 plumbers, 2 technicians from Dominion Energy and a former Director of Water and Sewage troubleshooted and tried to diagnose the issue, no one could fix it or seem to find the problem. Chris came out and within an hour he diagnosed the problem, fixed the vent, and lit the water heater. This was absolutely amazing and I almost cried. Our sewer line backed up around 11:30pm - 12:00am lastnight and we called these guys and they came out and found out my sewer line was severely broken. They gave a very timely and fair estimate for the repair. Today they were out here by 10 am. Did the repair and got it done. Plumber himself got the job done and worked to be sure he did it properly. We were a bit concerned for a while as he could not find the water cutoff for our house, but he utilized his resources by calling his manager and found that. From a scheduling standpoint, they did a terrible job. Our first appointment got canceled, our second appointment wasn't on the books when we called to ask where he was, although they got him out there that night, and our third appointment was from 2-6pm with a roughly 7pm arrival time. If you have to work, don't use them. We ended up taking time off that was unnecessary because the office could not accurately schedule our appointment.

Great service from start to finish. Andrea, on the phone, was courteous and knowledgeable. She also considerately phoned me on day of the appointment to inform about a slight delay. The technicians, Roger and Garry, were wonderful. I appreciate the way they talked straight to me, explaining all the possibilities. There were options and they chose the avenue more considerate to me but more challenging for them. They persevered long after I would have. Their expertise and professionalism was evident. I called Roto-Rooter when I noticed my water heater was leaking. It took several hours for the technician to arrive at my house, but it was the weekend. When he got here to look at the water heater knew right away we needed to replace the unit. He told me he could go ahead and do it right then, but it would be a little more expensive because he would have to get the new water heater from a hardware store. He informed me that if I could wait until Monday he could get a better quality water heater from the supply warehouse. So I took his advice. He showed up at my house first thing Monday morning and got right to work. He was very friendly (even let my boy play with some of his tools). He got the new water heater installed and hauled off my old one. Excellent service all around. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because of the initial response time (I called around 9 am, and I was told someone would get here around 11 or 12. However I waited until about 4 pm before anyone showed up). I would definitely recommend their service, and I'll certainly be calling again for any plumbing needs.

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to for my experience. Three months ago, I had some problems with my toilet gurgling when the shower was being used indicating some sort of blockage. I called another plumber to come out and snake my pipes. That relieved the problem for around 3 months. It started happening again close to Easter and I tried calling a bunch of different plumbers. One plumber had recommend Roto Rooter so I gave them a call and I spoke with Lacey who was very helpful, nice and responsive as I talked to her over a 3 day period. Since they weren’t able to get a plumber to my house around Easter which was understandable, someone came out that Monday. First off, Roto Rooter doesn’t charge a trip fee which is awesome plus they can camera your pipes for free to help accurately diagnose the problem. Most plumbers would come in and just snake the pipe and charge me $200 - $400. The plumber I got is named Preston and he was up front wanting to save me money. He was honest and accommodating knowing that I have a 4 month old baby. Once he put a camera in and it got stopped by the blockage, he got a sonar detector to see where exactly the blockage was happening. As he suspected, it was the roots from a couple bushes that had infiltrated my pipes and caused some sort of damage. Preston said he would install a two-way clean out along with repairing the broken pipe and apply RootX. He estimated it would cost $1000 which I thought was more than fair. As his crew were excavating and cutting pipes, they discovered I had terra cotta piping which is much worse than cast iron. They found that the term cotta pipes were completely filled with waste and other junk, so Preston informed me that they were going to have to replace the whole line up to the front yard city clean out. I knew this was going to be expensive, but he gave me a break on what they usually charge and estimated the work at $2800. I’ve talked to multiple people about this price and they have said it is a more than reasonable price as I know this sort of thing can cost anywhere from $3000 - $5000. The work and parts also came with a 3 year warranty. They completed the work in about 2 and a half hours and everything has been working great ever since. Preston put me at ease and answered all my questions to make sure I understood what exactly was going on. I will definitely use them again. Highly recommend.

The person who kept answering my calls, and I made several, was very polite, helpful and understanding. She got back to me, as she said she would. It was Friday night and I'm sure he wanted to be home, as most of us would. The only negative comment I have to make is that it was a great deal more costly than they advertise. I had two plumbing issues arise last week. I called Roto-Rooter to solve both of them and couldn’t be happier with the results. On Monday, I had a drain clean-out. Simple enough, and successful. On Saturday morning I awoke to almost no water coming out of my faucets. I investigated and found soaking wet dirt in the crawl space under my house. I had Roto-Rooter’s number handy from Monday’s appointment and called them at 8 AM. Within an hour a plumber was at my house. He located the problem quickly — a 100 year old rusted pipe coming in from the main line at the street. The gushing leak under the house required digging up my yard to replace the metal supply pipe with PVC. Roto-Rooter’s serviceman took time and great care to explain the entire situation to me. I asked a lot of questions and learned a ton from him. He was at my house ALL DAY in the 90+ degree heat and finished around 5 PM. With great care he dug up my lawn, fixed the problem, showed me everything he was doing and checked in with me about the new shut-off valve he installed near the house. When the plumbing work was finished, he put the lawn and plants right back and cleaned everything up. This was an unfortunate thing that happened, but the outcome was terrific! I got a new pipe, I learned a lot, and I now have the peace of mind that everything under my house is in top working order, because he double checked all that, too. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter for routine maintenance or any larger problems that pop up.

After having a massive leak on a commercial property of our and having to cut the water to 160 tenants roto rooter came to the rescue and stayed all day and even after dark till the situation was resolved and made sure all tenants would have water up and running before they left. Rotor-Rooter response time is awesome! Had Roto Rooter out on 7/19/15 for a backed up sewer problem and was charged 335. Had the same problem on 7/31/15 and the Tech came out, took one look and said it was a city sewer problem. Charged 127.00 for about a 10 minute visit to investigate. Wonder why the first tech couldn't figure out that it was a city sewer problem on the first visit?

Called for Roto-Rooter to inspect a blockage with pipe camera. Problem was indentified and estimate for labor/repair given. Part of the price to camera the pipe was credited back toward the excavation and repair. The technician, Hunter, gave an estimated repair time of 4 hours and was finished in half the time with help of his assistant. After the new pipe was fixed I was shown the old pipe and given a thorough explanation of what had caused the busted pipe. A new "clean-out" was created, and the disturbed dirt, mulch was put back way found. Hunter included two complimentary quarts of Roto-Rooter commercial grade drain cleaner. I was also made aware of additional services available involving all-natural gas repairs if interested. I was very pleased with service, pleasant technician, professionalism, and warranty for service.

Water Heater went out 12/15. Came and replace it 12/16. Worked great until 12/20 and no hot water. Came back 12/21 said it was burned up inside and they would need to replace and they would call me Saturday 12/22. No call on Saturday. I called and they stated warehouse closed so no water heaters available. I didnt bother them 12/23-11am 12/26 as I knew it was the holiday. Called at 11am. They said they would call the technician and get back with me. Had to call back at 13:15, they said they would call me back. Called back again at 14:01, they said they would call me back. Tech shows up unannounced about 16:00. Had to run some errands and when I came home at approx 1800 Water heater fixed. Hopefully this one will not be an issue. Gonna give 3 stars due to communication issues and 2nd water heater. If it continues to work as advertised, I will up the score to 4 stars as the tech who has been out was fabulous. Edited 3/9/19. Raised score to a 4 as I said I would. Everything working well as of time of posting.

Arriving home on a Saturday night, after working a 15 hour day, I certainly wasn't prepared for what was awaiting me. I was preparing to take a shower, when the backing up drains stopped me in my tracks. My heart sank as I was confronted with the long, arduous task of bailing the bathtubs and shower stall. Even with my wife's help, it took a couple of hours. What to do? I could get through the night, but how could I get anyone to come out on a Sunday? Confronted with the question, "Does a bear..." Our house was built in the late '30s or early '40s. I was 10 years old when my parents bought it. So we live with a grease trap from the kitchen sink. Occasionally, it needs to be cleaned out, which used to be no problem, but about 15 years ago, a deck was built over the trap. Lately, when the dishwasher runs and empties, the water doesn't go out the drain, but backs up into the sink, and then goes back into the dishwasher. When we called Rotorooter, we learned they do not clean out grease traps, but we were sure the drains from the trap were full of roots so we scheduled them. An amazing tech named John came and opened the drains, and after having a sewer service clean the grease trap, we are on the way to recovery!
