I was looking to cut costs on my water heating bill, and had Blue Planet come out for an estimate on installing a hybrid style unit. They provided a fair price and were able to get the work scheduled in a timely manner, and they are a Duke Energy qualified contractor! They showed up on time and were very professional in their work. Technicians (Sam & Cameron) took the time to explain how everything works on the new unit, and even hauled off the old water heater. A couple of days later, a minor issue popped up unexpectedly and they immediately came out to fix it. Turned out it was just a hose coupling that needed re-crimping. I'm impressed with their honesty & professionalism, and how they took ownership of it without making excuses. I will definitely be using Blue Planet for any future projects. Thanks!

My experience with Blue Planet was exceptional from the minute the person answered my phone call. This set the tone for incredible customer service! I had never used this company before and they managed to work me in on the same day. We had a pipe burst over the holiday. Blue Planet was very helpful in scheduling during a busy time, and got us off the cancellation list quickly. Our plumber Pablo was the height of professionalism: listening to our concerns, making suggestions without being pushy, and quickly resolving the problem. We have a "heat pump" water heater, which apparently is quite unusual. We've tried for some time without success to find someone qualified to service it. We were happy to find Blue Planet, which immediately recognized the type and said they could provide service. Derek arrived on time and well prepared with the necessary parts and skills. He was very well informed, efficient, and explained clearly what he was going to do. A pleasure to deal with. The charges were reasonable and we signed up for a two-year maintenance agreement.

Had a broken sump pump that we didn't realize had filled to the brim, leaving us without the ability to use the only shower in the house. Was fit in for an eval very promptly the next business day (Friday), and today (Monday) Pablo cleaned everything up and installed a new pump seamlessly and quickly. I had a hose bib back-freeze the pipes in the wall of my house, which gushed water into our bedroom and made me think it would be a difficult and expensive repair. Brandon was able to immediately diagnose the issue and gave really good education/information on the logistics and pricing of options before moving forward. Made a minimally-invasive access into the wall and had it fixed quickly, same-day. He recognized I was a Blue Planet member (which saves 10% off all treatment, and has definitely been worth it in the long-run) and even did my yearly inspection/water filter cleaning while he was there. Then even stayed late to install a second hose bib on a more convenient side of the house! Threw in a picture of the finished work, which looks like it was already originally installed with the house. Brandon was super nice, educational, thorough, really clean, and worked hard around the difficult obstacles in my 900 sq ft house. Much appreciated Brandon! I will be using Blue Planet for all of my future plumbing needs and referring anyone that needs help too.

Great response, service, and very reasonable price! Our water heater began acting up right before Thanksgiving. I called and spoke with Michele for a service call and she made an appointment the next day. Brandon came and inspected and provided an estimate on site and he could install the next day. We had an urgent situation with a blockage in the main waste removal plumbing for the house + a vexing leak that we couldn't figure out. The Blue Planet Plumbing team responded immediately. Derek came and assessed both and then resolved the blockage to restore the basics to our home. Georg also devoted his time to help us find the leak, which we had been unable to figure out. Our home was built in 1903 so it's a mix of old and new and wasn't easy. In a day they had fixed the plumbing, found the source of the leak, and provided great support and advice for how to address it, which required HVAC support and moisture remediation. We have an older historic home dating from 1926. Brandon and Derek (the service technicians/plumbers) provided a fantastic service. The office staff at Blue Planet were friendly and helpful with texts and emails to confirm details discussed and appointment schedules. The digital communication interface was awesome too. On the day of service the technicians arrived on time and conducted an initial walk- through of the work to be undertaken as well as pointing out future plumbing work that could arise in the future I.e. older water heater. The plumbers were friendly, knowledgeable and worked diligently yet in a friendly and professional manner. The work was completed as planned and cleaned up afterwards leaving my house as clean as when they arrived. A full invoice was sent via email once payment was made detailing the work completed. This is our second time using Blue Planet and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. They are professional, on time, and extremely clean. Our first project was a year ago, a sewer line replacement from the house to the street and the team took care of everything. We were on the schedule a week out but when the line started backing up into the basement they quickly rearranged and got to our project the next day. Our most recent project was a repipe of the house to remove galvanized pipes and rearrange an existing bathroom. Georg and Arion have been incredibly helpful every step of the way. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and worked well with the other trades to complete our projects. At the end of each day they meticulously clean their work space and respect our home. As a bonus they are very respectful of our pets and their safety, always being mindful of the doors to make sure they don’t get out! I have seen many posts about pricing but in my opinion they have always been fair with our work. They are not the cheapest but they are certainly nowhere near the most expensive. And I have to mention that the quote is guaranteed! Meaning that whatever they run into within the scope of work is covered. The price will never go up once work starts. Also all of our work is under warranty. I mention the warranty because recently another contractor hit our new sewer line, accidents happen. Georg was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help me sort out that issue and make sure the pipe was repaired properly. He even contacted the other contractors to get the info they need for our warranty. If you choose Blue Planet Plumbing for your project rest assured you are in good hands.

We had a significant leak coming from somewhere on our hot water heater and called Blue Planet. They were able to have someone out really quickly (even though they initially thought it would be a week before they could get someone out), and the guys they sent were excellent (Arion and Mac). They were very professional, answered every one of my questions thoughtfully and without rushing, and were able to identify the issue and fix the problem right away. I also really appreciated that they offered a complimentary inspection and found another leak in our basement bathroom sink. I requested that they give us an estimate for some other work that we would like to have done and they took their time with that and explained all our options and the short- and long-term ramifications of each. I have already recommended Blue Planet to family and friends and will continue to (assuming that the additional work they do on our house remains as high quality as what they've already done - and I have no reason to assume it won't). Everyone on the Blue Planet team is courteous, professional and respectful of the home they are working in. Derek and Cameron relocated water lines & drains and installed a free standing vanity, double bowl solid surface countertop and faucets. Derek discovered that the faucets which I had purchased myself for the sinks did not have all the correct parts. He searched for the parts and ordered them for me. Katie in the office contacted me to let me know it would take a week to get them and offered to have Derek come out and put temporary faucets in so I could use my sinks! Our experience with Blue Planet Plumbing has really been wonderful. Georg, who conducted the initial consultation via Zoom (a recording of which was sent to us), Sam, who did all the work, and Katie and Katti in the office, have all been friendly and respectful and very patient in answering all our questions and concerns. What started as a seemingly simple, though not inexpensive, project – replacing a couple of old leaky hose faucets and the Pressure Reducing Valve – morphed into a monstrous 2-day job of replacing the water line from the water meter at the street to the house when, the day after the initial work was done, we discovered water bubbling up through the gravel in the driveway down by the water meter. It could be that we had had a small leak there that just wasn’t noticeable until we no longer had water constantly leaking out of the hose faucet, subsequently causing more pressure in the very old water line. Hard to know, but there was no getting around the fact that the water line needed replacing. Sam and the digging crew were fantastic. Neat, conscientious, hardworking, and very careful. Sam even came back days later to bring more gravel for the trench across the driveway after the back-filled dirt sank following heavy rain, and he took the time to address another concern I had. Blue Planet Plumbing may not be the least expensive contractor out there, but their professionalism and responsiveness are exemplary. They gave us estimates for all the work and never added anything extra. The only other company we initially called about replacing the hose faucets and PRV said it would “time and materials” – so it could have ended up being less, or even more. We will certainly consider using Blue Planet Plumbing again in the future.

Fantastic experience with Blue Planet Plumbing. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would certainly do so. From my first conversation with Katie to get my service scheduled, to the removal and replacement of my gas water heater by Jayson....it was a very very good experience. Jayson also identified 2 other issues I was not even aware of as far as a failed water pressure regulator coming into the house (it was reading way too high), and a failed expansion tank on my previous water heater. All of this was corrected in one efficient service visit after the original visit to diagnose my concerns just a few days prior. These folks are not only very knowledgable in their field, but are prompt, efficient and on time with their service and very friendly to boot! I had a 1950's toilet in my house that finally broke, Water was everywhere, I was desperate to find a plumber and Blue Planet came to my rescue! They make me an appointment that day. After an informative conversation with Pablo, my technician, I had him install a new commode. The company delivered the toilet at once and Pablo worked nonstop to get it installed. He even went to the hardware store to purchase a seat for the toilet to finish the job. He checked the water pressure in my house and installed a pressure reducer. also checked the water heater and did a small repair to it. He also took the time to walk me thru a list of other concerns I have with the plumbing in this old house. He explained the repairs in a way that I could understand it. Blue Planet performed a comprehensive plumbing system review. Their report was excellent, detailing all the issues identified and providing quotes to remediate each issue discovered. We had this review performed as part of the due diligence process for assessing a single-family home purchase. The report was informative, and professionally presented. Blue Planet identified the issues and provided detailed estimates to remediate each item. The estimates were so well designed that we submitted them as part of our price (reduction) negotiations with the property seller. Most importantly, we subsequently decided we wanted to re-pipe the whole house (replace polybutylene with a PEX manifold system). We discussed and reviewed our proposed designs with Blue Planet (they provided consulting to us at no cost). After this review (which included input from the company's owner Georg Efird) Blue Planet advised us that several other firms in the area (references provided by Blue Planet) had better capabilities to complete this type of re-pipe project. Wow! I am a retired engineer and businessman. That is beyond customer service. We have already decided to hire them for our service and maintenance needs for our new home. And we notified our real estate broker about their dedication to their customers. Well done Blue Planet!

I’m giving a 5-star rating for Derek, the installer who replaced our garbage disposal. He was great - competent, friendly, and efficient - got it done quickly and it’s working well. That said, I thought $670+ for a disposal I could have purchased at Lowe’s for $109 seemed a bit high for a job that took about an hour. Also, I was told it would only require one visit - that the technician who first came out would be able to do a same-day installation. In fact, the first guy only provided a cost estimate and took my deposit. Installation occurred a few days later. Not a big deal, but the scheduler should say that up front.

Pablo was able to quickly discover the source of a supply line leak that was happening in the ceiling above my basement bathroom and replace that section of bad copper pipe with PEX. We have acidic, hard well water and it is eating the insides of our copper pipe (24 years old) and causing these spontaneous and hard to reach leaks. They sold and installed a heat pump water heater. It's extremely energy efficient (up to 4 times a standard water heater) and was installed VERY neatly and professionally. Great crew. I'm glad that they talked me into a larger unit because, if a heat pump water heater is to really realize its maximum efficiency, it has to slowly store a lot of heat over many hours (to prevent more costly backup resistance elements from kicking in during high demand). We are running on heat pump only mode for 3 hot shower-loving people! Do realize that heat pump water heaters cool the surrounding air (wonderful in the summer and not so wonderful in the winter) and make a little noise like a very small air conditioner. They also dry the air (great for musty basements!) I've not had a lot of luck with the phone app that connects to the heater but that's not the installer's fault. Blue Planet can help you decide if the unit is right for your installation location and concerns. Blue Planet also handled the Duke Power rebate paperwork for me. I would definitely do business with them again.

Pablo arrived on Saturday of a holiday weekend to repair two non-functioning toilets. We asked him to also look at what we thought was a leak in crawl space, which ended up being a sewer backup! He acted quickly, professionally & diligently to get flow moving! He didn’t stop until there was at least flow until they could return with larger equipment to chew thru roots in the sewer line. Blue Planet office staff also hooked us up immediately with a remediation company to come out to clean up the impacted areas. I bought a 1943 stone house that had been remodeled above ground. THEN THE WASHING MACHINE BUBBLES CAME UP IN MY TOILETS. I went to Angie's list and another HOme Service and asked for a plumbing company who was near me and put in my phone number. No one called back erxcept Blue Planet, who came out and ran a camera down my sewer pipe where they found invasive tree roots. Much to my surprise my water and sewer pipes out to the street were made of iron and clay. Blue PLanet made a proposal to replace the old pipes, requiring excavation through one side of the front yard. They did this work in one day with several men working without stop until dark. They also installed two clean out pipes next to my house and out near the street. The men were courteous and professional in all interactions. I cannot recommend them more highly.

More specifically they performed a whole home renovation of our 1960s home plumbing system and they installed a, new tank-less water heater, new main water line, new main sewer and new down spout piping outside the home as well as doing more work. I knew I was losing my hot water heater but I'm a finicky homeowner. Due to its being an 80 gallon unit, I wanted to research, not only my system options, but manufacturers and their favored installers. I chose my brand and looked at reviews of plumbing companies. My first call (a weekend phone message because I still had lukewarm shower water, so no crisis) was to Blue Planet Plumbing based on reviews. At 8:15 Monday morning I had a call from Tori S, of their office staff. I had done a lot of research so I had some questions. Tori was very knowledgeable, efficient and polite. Based on her professionalism, I decided to let Blue Planet have the first shot. When Matthew and Mitchell arrived, they did so in a clean, professional looking company truck and with, both, company-logo clothing and laminated photo ID's clipped to their shirts. They understood my needs while educating me further. An 80 gallon hybrid unit was chosen and, surprisingly, I was told, not only, what the final price would be but that the job could be done that day. Penny wise and pound foolish? Absolutely not. This was a professional outfit from first contact. The work was done beautifully, the work area was left spotless, the old water heater removed and both warranty and Duke Energy rebate papers were submitted in my name. All IN ONE DAY. The owner should be acknowledged, as well, for the business plan with which he founded the company.

I like these guys. They didn't go for the throat when they found me in a bad situation. They did a simple fix to buy me time until I could afford an expensive upgrade to my water system. Pressure tank + water heater and all new piping isn't going to be cheap but I will definitely be calling them back for the work. Thank you! edit #1 So I used Blue Planet for my water system upgrade. It's been about a year and the work they did was great and still running as it should. They cleaned up the horrible PVC job that was previously done and installed a clean looking straight forward setup with proper shut off valves and pressure releases. Edit#2 Just had them out to assess my old pump and discovered it is going bad. They spent an hour recommending how the job should be done, the best guys in the area to do the work that they couldn't, and offered future assistance with any questions I had about the work that will be done by other well companies. Contacted Blue Planet Plumbing this morning with an urgent water line leak issue that I was alerted to after the city contacted me. Blue Planet Plumbing was on site at my home in a very timely manner to assess the situation. George took the time to listen to my concerns and then did a thorough investigation into what it would take to re-mediate the water leak situation. He explained the process his team would use to replace the water line from the meter to the house. A full estimate/quote will be forthcoming in 3-4 days after the other utilities are marked on the property and a route for the water line is established. I was very impressed with his knowledge, communication skills and business style. It was reassuring when faced with a major repair. I had an additional plumbing problem arise between the time I called them and when they arrived that was not my initial reason for contact. Once on site, I explained the new problem and George was able to assess it, recommend multiple solutions, provide cost estimates and do the repair once I approved it. Since he was so helpful, I asked him about a third issues we were having with an outdoor water hose connection leak that I had put off getting repaired. He again explained the situation and probable cause and gave me instant price for repair labor and parts. He performed the two minor repairs during this same visit. In all he was very helpful and took the time to address my concerns and issues. I would definitely recommend George and his team.

Matthew W. and Jayson R. were the professionals assigned to replace a malfunctioning pressure reducing valve which probably was the original one installed when the house was built in 1993. With no pressure from them I decided to add a second unit to provide better peace of mind. While they were here I asked them to replace the water heater expansion tank since I sensed it I was was not functioning properly. As luck (bad) would have it, when we flushed the lower level commode, we found a leak in the basement which required a new wax ring. I found these guys to be extremely professional, and they took time to answer my many questions to educate me. My issue was a failed sewer main that needed emergency resolution because water was backing up into the house. The price was definitely fair, and they were able to respond quickly to this emergency situation. Will even came out on Saturday to wrap up some work. However, he got my water back on the same day he started (Friday)! That was no small feat, considering my yard had to be dug up to fix the in-ground piece, and about 15 feet of cast iron pipe had to be sawed and removed from the basement. Digging up the yard meant the water line had to be replaced as well. I'm now the proud owner of PEX vs 1920s-era cast iron, and copper from who knows when, and have better water pressure than ever before. Will is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He explained the problem in excellent detail, and patiently answered all questions. Also he protected my stuff from any potential mess and they did a nice job leveling out my yard after digging it up. What could have been a nightmare ended up being a painless situation thanks to Will and Blue Planet. I highly recommend Blue Planet and will call them for any future needs.

I was very pleased with the service from Blue Planet. They called before arriving and I also received a text with a photo of the plumber with his background. I have a drain fly issue in our master bathroom and they spent extensive time investigating where the issue might be including crawling round in our crawl space to look at every pipe. We found a major water issue (beyond plumbing) which seems to be the cause of the flies. They also found a rusted out garbage disposal and replaced that and we cleaned out the on demand hot water heater. They ended up being here for 3 hours and I appreciated their thorough assessment. Not necessarily the cheapest option but you get what you pay for in my opinion. I would definitely call again.

Blue Planet did the setup of the well water treatment system in our house that we had acquired. They installed a water softener, water sediment filter, UV filter, and also eventually a reverse osmosis system; all of them from WaterTech. Furthermore, we had aluminum issue in our well water which manifested intermittently which necessitated working with WaterTech's founder and engineers for multiple weeks and multiple water samples. It took a while to figure out; however, the dedication of Blue Planet's team including their owner and support staff, and of WaterTech's executive team and engineers helped make the experience much better. Matthew did an outstanding job on a Blue Planet warranty item. Blue Planet installed a new laundry room vanity and the associated plumbing in our house about 4 months ago. A small leak developed about 3 days ago. I called Blue Planet about the leak and they said they would be over the next day between 11 am and 1 pm. Matthew showed up promptly the next day, analyzed the leak problem, stated it was due to a failing plastic connector pipe and said he would replace it with a sturdy metal connector pipe. The work was done efficiently and professionally and Matthew said it was under Blue Planet warranty and there would be no charge. Before Matthew left I asked him if he could show me how to turn the water off to the house so that a new refrigerator filter could be installed (part of the filter instructions). He turned the water off and even installed the new filter for us, waiting a few minutes to make sure it was functioning properly. Great company and service!

I had Corey from Blue Planet come to hook up and install a sink that I had purchased from a local hardware store. Having had some difficult experiences with home service providers in the past I was worried about the infinite number of things that can go wrong such as: potential up-charges, lateness and parts of the job left done. I had none of these problems with Corey. He called to confirm the appointment, he showed up exactly on time, gave me his cell number (that he always answers) did exactly the job asked and did not charge one penny more than quoted despite going beyond what was originally required. *****WARNING LONG POST***** We had Blue Planet plumbing out today to install a new Navien tankless water heater and chlorine neutralizer filter after reciving 3 other quotes. They are the only company that answered the phone actually. The other 2 took a day or more to call back. The CSR/Dispatcher Tori was a delight and so sweet while Katti the Operations manager was very helpful with the pre booking details too. Additionally Katti also processed a $150 rebate from PSNC that the other 2 companys never mentioned. They do have a service fee of 89$ plus tax but its refundable if you hire them. While Blue planet was the most exspensive quote it was so worth the experience being pleasant and I trusted them the most. I did not hire the other 2 plumbers one becasue he was condescnding and mansplained me for an over an hour and seemed like he did not want the job, the other plumbers wanted to talk me out of a tankless unit and kept pushing a tank type. I said no like 11 times they just didnt get it. I just wanted efficency!! This group runs runs their plumbing company like a doctors office (in a good way)! We recived a bio outlining the scope of work and the techs. experience including the vehical he was going to be driving. I got a 30 min call ahead from the plumbers and a day ahead reminder email. This made me feel safe and secure. They arrived and wore shoe covers and seemed neat and tidy in apperance. They treated me like a real person and never made me feel dumb becuase I AM clueless about plumbing. They also give a fixed price and I like this. I cant stand a company that gives one price then charges more after the job is done. The last company we used in this town was houly and soo slow as molasses. I also recieved a few options on pricing and they never pressured me even once. They did the job in one day and paid for my permit fee. They also cleaned up when done and gave us a 10 year waranty on all the work! They even registerd our water heater for us to active the warranty. It was Corey from Blue Planet who came out to give me an estimate and it was Corey who did the install. To make matters worse the pipes froze and broke inside of the house in several spots. Blue planet was very fast and getting the job done and I feel I was charged a fair rate.
