I generally do all the work around my yard, no need for the experts. However, they came to my door a couple months ago and offered their service. After listening to their offering, I negotiated a better price and accepted their service. After the first treatment, I still had some bugs around. As promised, they came for a second treatment and asked if I had any concerns...I did. They listened well and treated the problem areas I had noted. Their service seems to be working as I don't see many bugs around after only two visits. So far, I'm happy. I'm trying this for a year...I'll make edits/updates as more treatments are applied to let everyone know how things go.

We have had Aptive for 2 years now. They do a great job. I have only seen 2 spiders since we moved in(2 years). And no bugs! I like how they are always on time and let you know when they are coming. Great customer service and they keep the bugs away!

My husband did call around 6 o’clock because we had an appointment scheduled but it haven’t seen or heard from anybody and he said that the office side of it was not very helpful and not well informed.

I was sent a text message informing me of when the service would take place and the technician let me know when he was on his way. He was very professional and let me know everything he was going to do. He also asked me specifically what bugs I saw the most so he could tailor the service for my specific needs.
I also like the value. They treated my front and back yards as well as the interior and exterior (including the garage). They even put down some any bait at no additional cost. All of this for a third of the price I would have paid with my prior service.
The only thing I didn't like was that they work on a contract basis and there is a charge for ending a two year contract early.

However, I had service scheduled last week Nov 12, no-show! Called and scheduled for November 19. Received an email early on the 19th that they would be here between eight and five? I wanted the interior sprayed, but this window does not work for me. You have to hang around all day long and you’re not sure when they’ll show up. However, the technician did text me at 1 o’clock and said he would be here at 1:30. He was on time. There should be a window of two hours. So the customer can plan. 😕

The service was done professionally. He's friendly and always asks of there is something specific that needs to be done. He always calls at least 30 minutes before arriving. He's thorough and he knows what is the best service to perform with each season.

So far we've had good service with Aptive. There were a few times they didn't come when originally scheduled, but they rescheduled later. They are very quiet I usually only know they have come because I have cameras.

Aptive always send very professional servicers to our residence. They are friendly and very thorough with their process. I have not seen a bug or spider since we moved in and began our service. I will always use a professional service because I used to spray for bugs myself with local hardware store product but it hardly worked and left stains on my walls.

They do not ask you when you would like to have the appointment but email you telling what day it is. Yes, you can reschedule if that day does not work. That email does not include the time, lol, I emailed back and was told 1-5, the technician showed up at 9am. His route showed I was scheduled 8-1. Other than not being able to know when your appointments are they do a good job.

I don’t often right reviews but I love Aptive!! I used them for two years and had no wasp, field mice or spider issues in the spring/summer! I stopped using them for a season and regretted it as wasps made them selves right at home and the mice decided to stop by my pantry. So gross. I live by a field and they keep the field mice out with bait traps in the yard that are dog proof. You can’t beat the service they provide and pricing is always inline and competitive for their market. The product they use is very effective!!

I have used Aptive off and on for several years now. When I am signed up with them I feel more at ease. They come to your house quarterly (no contract). So you don’t have to call every time you want a treatment. They let you know when they’re on their way and they are quick and efficient. They always address any problem areas that you may have and then they do a general spray. Their technicians have always been respectful, responsive, and easy to work with. I discovered what I thought was a wasp nest and the tech assured me that if there was one he took care of it. They can do your interior at every visit as well. I was also told that if you have a situation that needs help in between your quarterly visits that they will send someone out to take care of it. The first year I used them I sometimes wondered if having them come was actually helping anything. So I let the time lapse for a while after my last treatment for the year. I ended up signing up with them again because the spider situation in my basement and the amount of ant piles in my yard was getting uncomfortable. I am very happy with their service and will continue to use them in the future.

Decided to switch from former pest control because this company offers a commercial grade which is not water soluble. Also provides all property coverage (trees, shrubs etc) not just the foundation. Coverage is for inside house and outside. I was paying 60$ just for foundation coverage. This is much better! So far, so good. Salesman Tim knowledgeable and professional. Preston the tech was both friendly and thorough!

Active is always on time and communicates well. They regularly verify what concerns, if any, there are and explain well what can be done to address the issue. We notice we were getting mice outside pretty regularly and Aptive was quick to respond to the issue to prevent it from becoming a larger, out of control problem. We haven't had any issues with mice since.

Christopher is always really upfront with me and does an excellent and thorough job with the application. I don’t think my experience would be near as positive without Christopher being honest with me and making sure I received the best possible service. I have been with Aptive for almost 2 years and we’ve occasionally seen cobwebs here and there and maybe a dead spider or two (which means it’s working), but that’s almost unheard of considering our neighborhood is new construction and just built 30 homes on our street. We should have so many more pests than we do, but Aptive has taken care of it and Christopher has always offered to go above and beyond. I’ve never even had them out for a follow up application, just my scheduled ones, but my service plan includes free follow ups, I just haven’t ever needed one!

I've had pest control services in the past that weren't very effective. I was constantly finding new ant hills near the foundation and getting invaded by spiders. Since I started using Aptive, the insects I see inside my home are dead or dying. They schedule their people for efficiency, meaning it's not always the same person each time, and every one of them has been friendly, knowledgeable, on time, and really takes the time to listen and explain. They send a follow up email listing the products they used with a basic breakdown of what's in them. One guy saw I have a very hearty species of weed in my yard and told me how to get rid of them, because he used to do landscaping.

my mini pincher, Earl, got out. He then ran to Jason and proceeded to bark at him and attempt to sniff him at the same time. Eventually I was able to get the dog inside. But while Jason was around the dog he was patient and helpful and then he went and did a terrific job in my yard. How can I not recommend a company whose technicians behave in such a manner? Well, I can’t!! 😁 Definitely five stars!

Whomever the technician was for me this time was great. He explained things very clearly and came back to make sure he did what I asked. Additionally, he put some extra bug traps in my garage to better understand how they get in and from where.
My issue with the service, though, was the scheduling. He showed up at 7:36 am. It just so happened that I was up at the time and it worked out, but I have no idea why Aptive’s scheduling allows for them to show up at times that early without confirming that is OK. All I knew was they were coming that day and found out it would be at 7:30 am about 3 minutes before he was at my door. Not awesome.

Aptive does a great job with servicing our home but my complaint is the billing and scheduling department. If you aren’t careful they will come much more frequently than they are supposed to. Each time I call to adjust this and complain they tell me it’s because an automated system is scheduling the services!! Either way it is not right and they are taking advantage of and lying to their customers! When you set up a contract with them it is for quarterly not every 2 months or more. Watch your dates with these guys or you’ll be paying them much more frequently than quarterly!!

Aptive is an excellent company and I have been very pleased with their service. They have been spraying my home for a couple of years and have done a great job. Their technicians are always respectful of property and pets and they have taken appropriate precautions for COVID-19. My home has been relatively bug free since they started and I am very impressed. The only area where they could use some improvement (though not enough to knock off a star) is the scheduling notifications. Many times I have forgotten to schedule service on my calendar and the notification email goes out only a few hours before the tech arrives so I get a surprise visitor! Overall though, great service.

I’ve used Aptive now for just over a year. They are always kind and professional when their service technicians come to my home. Even throughout COVID, they’ve been as helpful and responsive as possible. Since I moved into the house I’ve always had an ant problem in one specific room. But since they started treating that room on a quarterly basis, I’ve had no problems at all. They treat our house for all kinds of insects and we have little to no issues inside. If I need a special visit, they come out within a day or two. They are an affordable service that I would definitely recommend.

We have used Aptive Environmental for 2+ years and we could not be happier. We also do our own insect spraying but sometimes life gets busy and you get behind on your chores that's why we have Aptive. I can honestly say we have NEVER had a creepy crawly find refuge in our home. I don't mind them outside but I do not like them inside. We receive a text to remind us of the upcoming appointment and they always knock when they arrive and we can let them know of any new insect problems. I have definitely seen a huge improvement with the ants in my driveway and in my rocks. I have been trying to get rid of them for 3-4 years and have not seen much improvement, even when using another pest control company. I was also appreciative of the quick email responses I got when I was trying to get a re-service scheduled. However, it’s hard to get someone scheduled in a timely manner. I have also requested that they contact me 30 minutes before they come for the pest treatment, but today they did not. These things are frustrating because I am paying more money with Aptive than I did with my old company but not getting the some of the customer service I feel like I should be getting.
Update 10/23/2020. Again, the customer service is below par. They did a treatment on my house today with absolutely no heads up whatsoever. I had no idea they were coming which meant that I was Not home to make sure that they could do the inside of the house. I got an email asking me to do a review and I didn’t even know they had been to my house, then I got another email with the bill, and later an email telling me that a technician had been to our house and sprayed. It seems so backwards! Hate the customer service and their app that seems to never work right, but I do like the product they use to get rid of the bugs.

Brayden was good, just seemed quiet and reserved. He also completed it so quickly I just feel like it’s not going to do anything. When I spray I go through two sprayers of chemical where he didn’t even use a sprayer half the size as mine.

I agreed to try active out for a total of four treatments. They came about every 90 days and sent a new technician each time. This made the service inconsistent. The 2nd service the guy was too scared to go into my attic and find the mice seen by the electrician earlier that morning. I would pay upon each service before they would leave.The 3rd treatment a service person couldn't get his phone to process the card. He offered to take a cash payment to which I acquiesced and he said an e-receipt would be texted to me. After the 4th and final treatment I canceled on the site, by phone twice, and with the payment by card for the last service. Aptive has a mediocre ability at best and shouldn't be competing as a profession. To my surprise another person was sent who insisted that the full cycle requires 5 treatments. I assured him that I had canceled with the last treatment by phone and that my contract was only for 4 visits.
Active wants to bill me for a treatment I did not agree too and they are implying that they never received the cash payment. They know who was here because each person is documented for their stops. They called me and wanted me to dig up records to set their records straight. A week later they have me on the hook getting letters from a collection agency.
Same day my credit score drops 130 points. I don't know what their problem is with employee theft but if you're smart enough to read this, your smart enough to go to Home Depot and spray for yourself. Save $75-$80, save you from the invasion from inexperienced 18 year old from coming into your house, and save yourself from explanations after they treat your house that you may see more of the critters initially. Just say "no" to Aptive's pseudo pro pest service

The treatments are hit and miss as far as effectiveness goes. At least half the time I have to call them to return to do a re-service because ants are back much too quickly. Also, I had a service today and requested the inside of my house treated, and the technician said he would treat the outside and then treat the inside. When he was done outside, he just left, so now I have to schedule another service for the inside. Also, when you make an appointment, you won't always get a time window for when the technician will arrive, so you may end up waiting at home for many hours for them to arrive.

Spider problems have been terrorizing my 3 kids so we called Aptive. The day someone was supposed to come they never showed up. I called and the very kind person I spoke with said it looked like the one who scheduled forgot to send the confirmation. So I was on the schedule but never added to the route. She offered to give me a discount on my services which I greatly appreciated. Fast forward to today when the technician was scheduled- he showed up and sprayed the exterior. I was waiting for him to knock on the door so he could treat the inside since we’ve had spiders inside my house and this was my initial treatment. This is what I discussed with customer service when I called after the first no-show. Several minutes passed and No knock. I went out front and the technician was gone. Aside from his call telling me he was on his way I never spoke to the tech. I’ve messaged the company as instructed in the review text they sent, but several hours later have not had any response. I’m willing to update my review once I get a couple more answers like if someone will be back to treat the inside, or if I am getting charged extra for the inside treatment that I scheduled but did not receive. But for now, I’m frustrated.

Their auto scheduling tries to do more often than every 90 days (not including the first appointment, which they do state they need to do the following month). It seems like their auto scheduling is trying to get more appointments in than contracted for to try and take more of your money.

Beware of all 5 star reviews! Based on the quality of all the recent 5 star reviews, I have a strong feeling this review will soon be buried under a bunch more 5 stars reviews. Hopefully people considering this service will find this, and it will help.
We used this service for one year. Every visit was a different tech stating that the previous guy was "no longer with the company." While thats a red flag, that's not a deal breaker.
The issue was, we saw no difference in bugs, wasps or rodents using Aptive, and in fact the only solution to the voles damaging our yard was me eventually telling Aptive to stay out of the backyard and trapping them myself using old-school peanut butter and mouse traps. (out of desperation since thats the last thing I wanted to do - especially after paying a pest control service.)
Most importantly, be aware that if you sign up for Aptive's standard 1 year contract, after your initial contract ends, they will auto-bill your card every three months without any notice until you call to cancel. I say call because there is no way to cancel this auto-billing online, you have to call a 1-800 number. This is 2021 and I had to wait on hold for an "representative" circa 1990s. After not being able to get through, I removed my card from the account so it would no longer be auto-billed. Only then did I get a direct number and name to call. Once I did get in contact, and explicitly said I no longer wanted the service or to be billed, I was routed to the "loyalty dept." to address my "request." I am still waiting on an itemized bill of services before paying the outstanding balance since the phone representative's explanation was so convoluted.
Despite the very questionable billing structure, I gave them 3 stars because someone did show up as agreed every few months to spray something and sweep the spiderwebs from the porch.
Summary:
Long story short, avoid this subscription based service as it provides minimal claimed results at best. But more importantly, it is an auto-billing structured business designed to charge your card as long as it takes you to realize it's still happening. Then they make it a huger inconvenience to actually get them to stop.

Each quarter I have Aptive spray, and each time is seamless. The product they use does a great job and efficiently kills bugs at your door step... each time I walk out the house the proof is there. The only reason they get four stars is their billing is not quite what it should be. Once I was billed for my regular monthly service, and then billed another $40 or so for no reason, but they fixed it. Also, I do wish I would get a call before they come out.

I have only seen two or three spiders inside in the year they have been taking care of us. And every summer we get these black beetles and they get into our basement. Since they started their quarterly service a year ago, I have not seen even one in the basement. I saw my first one outside today, then like magic Aptive showed up. So I expect I will see zero in my house. Almost no spiders, no ants (and that was a problem) and no beetles. Fantastic!

I have been a customer since 2016. I feel they offer good value, since their quarterly service costs less than the same services rendered by other companies I priced out, plus they offer free revisits between quarterly service if needed. I do have some serious issues with them though:
1. Their communication is not reliable. Sometimes I get multiple notifications that they will be servicing our home, and sometimes I get no notice whatsoever.
2. Several times they have sent someone out for my quarterly service three weeks too early, which means I would be paying for more treatments in a year than my contract stipulates. If I get notice I can call and change it to a later date, but if I don’t get notice and I am not home to refuse service, my card is automatically charged and I’m screwed.
3. When they come inside they have a habit of not raising blinds before spraying windows, and they spray so liberally that I literally have poison dripping from my blinds, and puddles on my window sills and along baseboards that take hours to dry. Thankfully I do not have really small children to keep out of it, but my cat ends up locked in the laundry room all day so he doesn’t lick it. Because of this I only let them in occasionally, make sure to raise all the blinds first, and ask them to go easy on the spray in the house. Sometimes they do—varies by technician. I’ve never had the same guy twice.

We just used them for the first time yesterday so as far as bug control we cannot review yet but we can review the tech who came out. He was a nice guy but rubbed us the wrong way for multiple reasons. Our main concern: touched our 3yr old's head a couple times and then touched her belly with a "boop". Not only is this
first and foremost overstepping boundaries and personal space but very unprofessional. Even if there wasn't a pandemic this still wouldn't be okay. He also mentioned one of our pups name who had passed away saying he saw her "paw frame" which made us feel like he was taking time to look at our family pictures. Then I ask his name (Chris), I say, "hey that's my husbands name" and he says, "I know, I saw it somewhere in the garage or bedroom". We were confused and suspicious as to how he knew his name. My husband's name is NOWHERE in our house other than on bills and other form of paperwork in our office (where he sprayed) so unless he peeked at our paperwork, there would be no way for him to "see" his name. I would not hold this against the company but as far as this tech goes, he will not be returning to our home ever again.

I’ve been with them 3 months, and I always get a text just the evening before a service and with no service window. How am I supposed to plan my day if I don’t know when you’re coming.
They will respond to your text but it’s not automated, so you’re depending on someone to see the txt response in the que and follow-up. This last visit I was quoted 1-4 and the tech showed at 10... he didn’t get the message.
So tighten up your processes to make this service easy on your customers and on your techs.

He arrived at 8:00, said he forgot the booties for his boots so he took off his boots so he wouldn’t get mud in my house. I have a love, hate relationship with Aptive. They like to send technicians out with out notifying me. I do everything by appointment only and this is by far my number one complaint. Someone has to be available to let them in first and foremost and secondly, we have three dogs! It appears Aptive doesn’t care, they are okay with just doing 1/5th of the service (front part of the house) and still charge the full $109 for it. As you can imagine, this has beyond frustrating!! I will never pay for a service that has not been rendered!
As for technicians, so far there is only one technician that has done a phenomenal job. She is the ONLY person I will let into my house. I dare say her name because she is that good and I don’t want the rest of you to snag her away lol. ;). If someone from Aptive however is reading this, her name starts with an L and ends with an N. She is by far your best technician and in all honesty, should be promoted if possible. She is the reason why I am giving you 4 starts instead of 3!

I have been an Apitve customer since 2018. For the most part I didn't have a single problem with them, until this last scheduled treatment.
Don't get me wrong, the techs are amazing. And I assume they are getting backed up due to COVID-19. But, when this situation affects their ability to such an extent, that they "say" they will credit your account for the inconvenience, and then they don't, well now we're in a whole other ballpark.
After contacting customer service multiple times and being offered a credit, I noticed that when the bill came out of my checking account, it was actually higher then usual. I called and spoke to a woman who claimed that they never applied the credit, and she applied it for my next appointment. "This doesn't help me, because my next appointment is in three months". She began claiming that my phone was cutting out, and that she couldn't hear me, even though I could hear her perfectly fine. She then says that I would have to call back later. Like really!? How hard is it to just give me the $20 credit now.
Anyway, I called back, and spoke to a wonderful woman who closed my account for me. She asked why, and I explained that after this last treatment, it had been ping ponging around in my mind, but it was the last CS I spoke to that helped me make a final decision.
I would still recommend this service, as their product is very effective and their techs are very respectful. However, I think they should be clearer about price hikes. They say this happens every year. They should also do more to keep customers informed about scheduling changes, and price increases.
The customer shouldn't have to hound them about issues that could have been prevented with a simple email or text.
And when they offer you a credit, they should JUST DO IT!

The young man who came to my door was polite, knowledgeable, not pushy and that very day the work was done. I watched the guy do the work. I didn’t see everything he worked on but he sprayed anything I asked for and then some. He was thorough and no details were overlooked. He spent about 40 minutes getting the job done. I was very pleased and canceled my 5 year agreement I had with Terminex, a company that breezes in and out in 15 minutes and I still have issues after they leave. Who has the time to call them back to do the job right and complain about it, schedule another time, take off work again, etc. so I terminated Terminex. If they will always be as friendly and thorough and explain everything they are going to do and see if you have any additional pest problems - all for the same cost, I’ll be one satisfied happy camper!

Three of our trees had bug damage, so they were sprayed as well as 3 hornet nests removed and our umbrellas. I really like our technician. I’m terrible with names, but you can look him up. It’s also nice to have the same person coming. We are satisfied with everything now.

Honestly, this would be a 4-star review, (mostly good, but repeat services are always required between treatments that they've scheduled) but they've stopped answering their phones - or they don't have sufficient staffing or answering tech to handle customer calls. Something has changed. Effectively, I may as well be calling my dead grandmother for service. We've waited a total of 2 hours on hold over the last three calls - all without speaking to a human. Do humans work there anymore?

Initial service and communication was great. After the 12 months service requirement was up, communication for service treatment was terrible—less than 24 hours (more like 14.5 hours) notice via email for a last minute, next day appointment and right before their office closed for the day. I tried rescheduling when I got the email and they sent technician anyways who was only able to provide partial service because we lock our back gates. When I called the office as soon as they opened to tell them he wouldn’t be able to spray, they said there was nothing they could do because the technician was out before their office opened. So we got a last minute appointment because someone couldn’t coordinate effectively, wasn’t allowed to reschedule because they send technicians out before they open their office and when I asked customer service to let the technician know not to spray she said they have no way of reaching their techs in the field (yea right) but he was able to complete the service in their system magically so they could charge me for it. Worst customer service!

This guy today was better than the last person as he knows what sticky traps are and he left them as per our contract. However he refused to go INTO the crawl space and spray as every other person that came out has done. That is a requirement and was noted up front before we signed the contract that they were to go into and spray all around the perimeter of house in the crawl space. Not happy once again. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be leaving this company. February 10,2021. Update.. t o'day a young man by the name of Cody came to do our pest control. What a gem compared to the other two guys that have been out. He did our dusting and sweeping around the perimeter. I know he inspected because he saw a mouse!! We’ve been so happy with Aptive. We’ve been using them for about a year now and they completely solved our spider issue, among other things! I was being bitten constantly by large spiders and I was finding spiders of all sizes all over the house. I haven’t seen a single one in months and May is usually when they start to invade (it’s mid-June). They’re also working on our mouse problem (we live right next to a large field) and they can fix that as well. The employees are either the same every time or they’ve read the notes and know not to spray our organic garden and they’re very communicative. Even if you’re not home, they still do everything the right way (we have cameras). They’re super friendly and really seem to care about the job and making sure you’re happy. Also, we have an indoor-outdoor cat, a dog, and a 6-year-old, and the treatments are pet/kid-friendly once dry, and they make sure to keep the gate closed every time. I highly recommend Aptive!

I’ve been using Aptive Environmental - SLC for a little over a year. They have been great to work with. Last summer I had a terrible problem with wasps, and the company came back within 24 hours every time i called with more 🐝 sightings. No questions asked. No extra charges. Kami did an excellent job! She is very knowledgeable and informative. She reassured us that our outdoor, rodent "friend" had probably moved on, since they burrow as far as they can, then they leave. She also gave tips on how to keep pesky ants out the house by stuffing the corners of our windows with tissue paper. After spraying the house, she was going to spread some pellets around, but noticed that we may have outdoor pets, so she didn't put out any pellets because the animals may eat them and become sick. We don't have pets personally, but our neighbors have outdoor cats and we didn't want them to get sick.
There was a minor mishap with payment for the quarter. I paid, but the office thought I didn't. Kami told me about their Easy Pay option. I checked that out and it seems much better than their previous payment service.
The only issue I seem to have with Aptive may be communication. If I hadn't called about wanting to spray for ants, I wouldn't have known about my upcoming, quarterly service appointment. It would be nice to get a reminder call or email a week or so before the quarterly appointment.
I'm excited to see what happens this spring and summer, as that seems to be the season of bugs. I'm hoping we'll have less of them, inside the house anyway.

These guys do a wonderful job! They are always on time. They always follow up to see how things went and make sure that you know that your appointment is coming . In the beginning we had to have them come back because it didn't seem as though all of our paths had been eradicated. They came right back out and gave it a second shot and lo and behold everything was great! I think it was just because there were so many paths and there's only so much stuff you can put down on the ground. Everything has been great with Aptive for the past 2 years. We never had to call customer service we lived in the same house and the treatments came quarterly and so did the billing. No bugs or spiders were seen.
Then we moved to a new address and everything fell apart. We called the customer service line and after 30 minutes of being placed on hold we were prompted to leave a message as there is no one to take our call. The promise was made by the automated attendant that we recieve a call back. We did this no fewer than 5 times on different times of the day and days of the week and still no call back.
In desperation I even used the app to send a message to the Salt Lake sales manager twice and recieved no replies from him.
Durring this whole ordeal Aptive came to our old address and treated our buyers house and charged us for the privilege.
When finally got a response to a email I had sent Aptive customer support 3 days later I received a canned answer email and I was advised to call customer support to resolve my concerns.
The reason I am not giving Aptive a 1 star rating is that we were finally able to get ahold of someone on the phone on our 6th or 7th try and asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor called us back a day later apologized for the issues they are having with their phone systems and app. They changed our address and sent someone out for free the next day to treat our new house which needs the service badly.
Aptive has great effective pest treatment but they really need to work on their customer service experience.
In summary everything is great with Aptive untill somthing goes wrong.

The salesman and those who come out to spray are super nice. My only complaint is that it costs so much. So I am discontinuing now that my contract is done. Another minor concern is that it takes the about 10 minutes to do their work on my yard. So fast sometimes that it makes me wonder if the really did anything. I didn't really see a mass exodus of bugs that they said I would but I wasn't really going outside to search. So overall I think it is overpriced and perhaps effective.
