This is not my first home inspection but this particular home inspection is my first experience with Batzner Pest Control. The inspector Greg C. came to my home for a general pest and rodent inspection. He carried himself as a consummate professional...Aside from being courteous and personable and an exceptional manager of resources, his extensive knowledge base made his point-by-point interactive inspection of my home and yard, interesting. He provided good answers to my questions and afterthe inspection, I felt well-informed and at ease--Thanks Greg C. ! Now...the down side is that the rates for residential services are higher than average, but, based upon the inspection, Batzner makes a very good first impression and I hope that the quality of their service continues as we move forward...

Jim was on time and very thorough! We learned a lot about the habits of mice etc. He offered solutions to our problems that were practical. We had other inspectors come and try to sell us products and services with very high price tags. We did not find this with batzner. Instead we found helpful and affordable solutions. Thank you!!!

Batzner Pest Control does a great job. We had a wasp nest unfortunate situated right under our mailbox and in a crevice that defied our own remedying. Batzner was very prompt in their response and handled the job effectively. They also reconnoitered our entire property and found some other stinging insects in the eaves of our garage that would have been an emerging problem.

We just purchased our lovely home and there were water bugs and centipedes in the basement so I looked up Batzner and Jim the service consultant was very informative about the year round service they offer for $40/mo. Our first treatment and visit was effective but in hindsight I didn't remember the techs spraying inside my house. So I asked for my living room to be sprayed on the next visit. Jim explained their process was spraying from the outside in. Anyway the service man came out told me he wasnt going to spray anything. He was so rude to me and basically had no respect for women because when my husband came out to address him, his whole attitude changed. Anyway...the work they do is okay. I haven't seen any more centipedes.

We signed up for Batzner’s continuous service with a monthly fee. The good: They were able to eradicate a sudden ant problem. With the continuous service, they will come any time for no additional charge. They also come out twice a year and spray outside to keep pests from coming in. The not-so-good: There is an up-front fee and a monthly fee ($45 a month, I think) whether you use their service that month or not. Additionally, when I called to cancel, you cannot end with the month for which you already paid. They force you to pay for two additional months. With regard to appointments, you can expect that it will take up to a month for them to come after you call. This is even if you are available any time, any day, as I am. On the pest control side, they aren’t always willing or able to assist. For example, they will spray for Asian beetles/ladybugs outside but will do nothing for the ones inside. I ended up finding a very effective spray for them online. Example two: We had a sudden influx of gnats. Batzner came out and spent quite a bit of time looking for the source (which I appreciate) but were unable to locate the source and left without doing anything. With today being the end of my contract (with the forced two month extension), they are coming out again to see if they can find the source (although the gnats have subsided almost completely on their own).

Jim and the exclusion team at Batzner solved my mice issues for good. For years I had another pest control company allow mice in my house, then catch or poison them. Gross!! Fabulous local hometown charm with one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. All of the breads served, four different types, are baked on site. The 2 sausage patties and 2 bacon were very large with crispy hash browns, fluffy scrambled eggs and of course the toasty bread.

When I found mouse droppings over winter I immediately freaked out! I choose local companies when I can and decided to go with Batzner. They were able to get someone out to my house quickly! Before they came they sent me an email reminding me of the appointment and it included a picture of the person coming out so I would know what he looked like. After an initial discussion about my rodent issue, he inspected my basement, garage, and the entire exterior of my house for possible problems. He then informed me of his findings, closed any possible rodent entrance points into the house, and set tamper-proof traps in problem areas inaccessible to my children and pets. He even gave me some valuable tips of simple ways to prevent future issues both with rodents and insects. I felt like he genuinely cared about my problem and efficiently handled any and all possible rodent entrance points. Furthermore, he made sure all my questions were answered and treated my family (and pets) with the utmost respect. I highly recommend Tom A. and Batzner in any and all pest removal situations.

Hired batzner to heat and chemical treat for infestation. Was assured the problem would be taken care of by tech. 3 weeks after treatment we found pests. it took a week for a tech to come and respray free of charge and we were told that pest activity would increase for up to 2 weeks. upon initial consultation I asked about treating entire home and the tech assured me it was unnecessary and said they "don't do basements " . I spent $1500 on the initial consultation and treatment and they give a one month guarantee. A month and a half after the initial treatment pests have come back and I cannot afford another treatment and their guarantee is expired. I followed all of the after care instructions and was careful not to bring pests back. When Batzner retreated they recommended throwing furniture out. If this was imperative to getting rid of infestation I feel I should have been informed upon initial consultation. I cannot prove that my home was not reinvested. But as an uninformed consumer, I feel, Iooking to professionals for help I should have been informed that retreating a second time may be necessary and possibly offered repeated inspection services to make sure the infestation was taken care of. Batzner controls the market In the area for the type of pest I had them treat for. Financially speaking not doing a thorough job benifits their business as consumers are forced to return to them for future treatments that are costly. In chicago where there is more competition the same type of treatment costs half of what Batzner charges. I understand that batzner is highly rated but I felt the need to share my experience. With my 1 month guarantee long over and no current financial ability to hire them a second time I have not contacted them. I look forward to seeing if they post a response. Update. 12/23/19 Batzner contacted my wife today. They offered to come back and retreat free of charge. I will continue to update review again after they have treated again. I will also add a star for their quick response and offer to rectify the situation so quickly.

Great service. Came immediately. Set up convenient and effective number of initial visits. We had horrible mouse issue after being go ne for 6 months. James Lewis work extremely hard to solve this problem. He is still really carefully monitoring and trying to kill any new ones who come in. Thus far, my experience with Batzner has been great. I found mice in my rented condo. My landlord (nor condo association) decided not to assist even though mice were entering unit from outside, through walls and into my kitchen. I called several times before finally making an appointment. The customer service rep (Lalon) was always patient and kind, very informative. And, Elbridge Jones has been the technician dispatched to my home. The first time, he came to survey where mice were entering and lay traps. He closed the outside hole and placed bait throughout condo. He later sent photos of where mice droppings were. His second trip (one week later), he sealed off holes in my actual unit (after it was determined my landlords nor association would not pay). He also checked baits and looked for other gaps where mice could possibly enter. I have phobia and he was kind, helpful and super informative as he worked. Mice activity has decreased. Hoping to have it eliminated soon.
