Our Orkin technician was very kind and helpful as they navigated our house with the spray. They helped us move furniture to get to our baseboards and were wonderful about getting all areas with the spray. They gave detailed explanations and our total for the first visit was cheaper than what I had though it was going to be. Overall it was a great first experience. Thank you Orkin!

Brian arrived on time and was eager to get started. He called me to let me know he was there and that he would start on the exterior until I arrived. When I arrived he was very professional making sure that he treated my home and announced himself around the house for privacy reasons. He and I spoke at length about my mosquito concerns and devised a plan that may work in the next season. We will see when that time comes but for now I am thankful for his professionalism and knowledge. I would not only recommend Orkin but specifically Brian.

The inspector/sales person clearly explained every aspect of my termite treatment. He found a couple of issues I was not aware of and offered to take care of them also. I have an unusually high activity of carpenter bees. The sales person told me how to get the company to inspect for carpenter bees and get them treated if necessary. He did not try to sell me a service I didn't want. The technician who did the work showed up on time and did a very professional job. All personnel were pleasant and helpful. This might sound quite routine, but I have dealt with several other pest control companies. None of them came close to Orkin's level of service and willingness to find a way to do everything what I wanted without including unwanted services. I wish I had called Orkin 12 years ago when I first moved in.

Orkin was the first company to answer the phone and setup an appointment, and for first thing in the morning. The professional gentleman was early for his 10am-12pm window. He neutralized, then removed the basketball sized bald faced hornet nest from overhead in my magnolia tree. Great service all around!

Contacted Orkin to get a home inspection and preventative treatment for termites after discovering a nest in the yard. Shawn did the inspection, and was very professional and informative. He took the time to answer questions, and do a thorough inspection. I chose to get a spray done and he scheduled it on site in only a few minutes, for a date the same week. Chris came out later that week to do the spray treatment, and he was also top notch. He went out of his way to patch up some pest problem spots that had nothing to do with the original termite inspection (spots I didn't even notice or know about!) and did a super thorough job with the spray. Very communicative and customer focused. Orkin made the entire process easy. 5 stars from me

Very happy with my experience with Orkin. Prompt and professional service for my initial termite problem in my shed earlier this year, including setting up their perimeter defense bait stations around the shed and house. Then, I just discovered this week that ants or termites had been chewing tiny holes in my above ground pool liner to get to the water, causing my water level during winter to drop significantly (I didn't even know this was a thing.) I called Orkin again to explain my latest problem and they came the next day to treat the exposed pool based (I had removed the old leaky liner), install bait stations around the pool, and set up a schedule of recurring preventative treatments around the pool. Thank you to Jeff and Chris and team in the Hanover, MD office!

Wonderful service! Our technician was prompt and professional. He was courteous and offered to come back two weeks later at no extra cost to treat once more. He also addressed the wasps we had congregating around our eaves when he was coming to treat for carpenter ants. Got same day service and our tech was honest and didn’t try to up sell to me for any necessary long term treatments. Definitely recommend Orkin of Hanover. Very satisfied!

After buying our first home, within the first week we found that the house had a pretty bad spider problem! Our friendly neighbors on the block said they used Orkin, and so did the prior owners. After one quick phone call, they came out the very next day and did indoor and outdoor treatments for spiders, ants, and sprayed for mosquitoes (since it was summer/peak season). The technician, Dave, was super friendly, reassuring, and knowledgeable! He answered all my many questions and was finished in about an hour. This was only the first treatment, so I guess we’ll see how effective it is, but the first experience was great! UPDATE: we’ve been using Orkin for nearly a year now and our tech, Craig, is fantastic! He really cares about our family and our property and has been so helpful in keeping the bugs at bay.

The person who came was extremely thoughtful and kind! I was in the shower and didn't hear many of his attempts at contact. He was persistent & went to great lengths to contact me to let me know he would be walking around my property. He was concerned with everything going on in these times that I would not be startled by someone roaming around my property and went to a great extent to make sure I that I was notified and knew what was going on. He was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. I ask him a specific question and he called me right back after his inspection to answer my question. I can not say enough good (good isn't even the right word) I would say great things about this person. It is such a welcoming but unfortunately rare experience were you get to work with someone who excells on so many different levels. I called Orkin as soon as a mouse decided to make an appearance while I was working from home. Of course it appeared at the end of the day, In time for me to catch Orkin before they closed but too late for anyone to come out that day. I also saw a 2nd or 3rd too. From the chair I was standing on I don't know if it was the same one running all over or 2-3. Craig arrived the next morning & had already spotted some gaps & sealed them before I opened the door. He sensed my anxiousness about this problem & he was very professional, calming & patient. He answered all my questions & some I didn't ask. By the time he left, he had explained what he did, what he saw & assured me he was on top of it. I felt a lot better. Jeff came a few hours later to check my attic. He was patient, professional & took the time to explain what he saw & options for services. I am very pleased with my interactions with them, the services they performed & the time they spent going over what they did, what the service includes & the other options for services.

UPDATE: It has officially been long enough that we can review Orkin's insulation and encapsulation -- INCREDIBLE!! We moved into a new house and immediately noticed indoor humidity at 65% in July/August. We had dehumidifiers running on the first floor and basement nonstop - it was so loud and annoying. We called an HVAC company and they said the issue was the house not being sealed enough. We thought we would put that expense off... but then realized the 30+ year old attic insulation was completely matted by old signs of mice and snakes! We decided to take the hit and pay for Orkin to clean the attic, put in new insulation, and seal all the holes and cracks in the house. Here we are towards the end of summer, with high humidity outside, and our house hasn't gotten about 55% humidity inside!! We also noticed that last summer we had at least a few centipedes in the basement every week - so far... none! Every other day we talk about how impressed and satisfied we are with the work they did. Also, the 3 team members who worked on the insulation and encapsulation were excellent. Professional, personable, respectful, and had great expertise. If you are having issues with humidity in your home or bugs or rodents, I highly recommend this service! 1st REVIEW (Nov 2021) Getting a hold of orkin was way more difficult than it should’ve been, but Celeste, the Orkin expert who arrived at our house, absolutely made up for it! She walked us through our new home and showed us everything we needed to know. She clearly knows her stuff! We’re new to this home and look forward to working with her for several years!

He is the face of the company as far as we are concerned and we could not be happier to have him. Courteous, great communications, honest, effective all come to mind. Earlier reviews: Our service tech, Dave could not be better. He calls to let us know the schedule and is accommodating and flexible about about adjusting around our schedule. We have his cell number if we need him. His services have proven to be effective and has even dramatically reduced the stink bugs we would see. Could not ask for a better guy. Just an update. First off, I don't like bugs. Not outside my home and certainly not inside. Being a new homeowner and discovering ants in my kitchen I thought I broke my house and was ready to throw it all away (yes I'm very dramatic lol). Then I remembered that my old apartment complex used Orkin as their exterminator. So I decided to call them up. I spoke to Janae and explained my situation. It felt like I was talking to my best friend. Still professional BUT personable. She calmed me and assured that my house is not broken lol. Fast forward to my appointment yesterday, David called me to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, he had his mask AND shoe covers so he wouldn't bring dirt in the house. And that was without me asking! He was very knowledgeable and also personable! We spoke the entire time he was here. We were able to find out where the ants were coming from and he laid some bait and it was like a buffet for these ants. He also informed me other issues other clients in the neighborhood (mainly ants and spiders) were experiencing to just give me a heads up and call them if I see anything new. He sprayed inside, outside, top, bottom, left and right to make sure all critters stay away from my home. By far the BEST experience I've had. Hopefully all bugs and other pests will stay away from my home so I don't end up throwing the whole house away 😁.

Been a customer of Orkin for over 20 years...12 in Columbia Office and 10+Gaithersburg office. The techs and customer service is what has kept us as a customer. Craig, our current technician, is always courteous and respectful of our property. I personally believe if you take care of the pests on the outside you will have little problems on the inside. With Orkin's quarterly service program we have been able to keep most pests outside of our house. When calling the office to schedule appointment, my only complaint is that you are often out on hold but everyone is always friendly and professional.

We used Orkin for an inspection, which was conducted by Celeste Holman, who was amazing! She was very informative, and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. We had asked for an inspection for one specific problem and Celeste went above and beyond and asked us if we also wanted her to check our attic, crawl space, and around our house for other pest issues. She even found a small space our regular pest control company had missed in their exclusion treatment and did it on the spot for no additional cost! Last but not least, she was wonderful with our very excitable dog, and even helped us with some impromptu dog training on how to behave with new people! We were beyond pleased with Celeste and are going to look into switching to Orkin for our regular pest control needs.

Tyrone has done quarterly inspections for us over the past 15 months. Prior to the Mr. Cornelius took care of us for 7+ years. The are both professional, knowledgeable, hard working and over all wonderful. They do such a great job that I put my mother in law’s home under a plan. The office staff of Dawn, Michelle and Celeste are phenomenal as well. They answer the phone quickly, set up a convenient appointment and get you what you need. I have been an Orkin customer for over 15 years and have been very happy with the service. I truly believe the employees make a company and feel very fortunate that I have had excellent technicians. Tom and Craig are wonderful....always friendly and explain what they are doing. If I ever have any issues they come back and respray. I am a big believer if you take care of the insects around the outside of your home you won't have an issue Inside so it is only on a rare occasion that I get the inside sprayed. I have just added mosquito service...I didn't see much of a difference after the first service but also realize it may take a few applications and not so much rain to be effective. The verdict is still out on the mosquito spray's effectiveness but happy with everything else and would recommend the Columbia office.

I live in a Condo with 12 units in the building. Recently we’ve been having some units rented out and over the course of the last year I have been noticing roaches in my unit the first time in eight years. I called Orkin and decided to go on a one year plan. At first they came monthly and then switch to every other month, within three months there was no sign of any bugs anywhere. So for the next few months they came every other month and now I don’t need to see them but twice a year. My techCraig it’s very personable to work with so I am very pleased with the service.

Last night, my husband and I were putting watermelon rinds into our compost bin in the back yard, when we were quickly attacked by yellow jackets. Apparently, they had made a nest in the compost bin and we made the mistake of disturbing their nest. I checked online for a pest control company and was glad to see Orkin Pest Control was still open (by this time it was after 8 pm). I called and spoke with a very nice customer service agent. To my surprise, she offered us a next day appointment! The appointment was scheduled between noon and 2 pm. She also gave us a quote for the service prior to the appointment. A little after 11 am, Shawn called to say he was on his way to our home. My husband explained the situation to Shawn, and Shawn confirmed they were yellow jackets. He explained how he was going to treat the area prior to taking care of the yellow jacket problem. He also let us know we should contact Orkin in about a 1-1/2 weeks to have him come out and retreat the area to ensure the yellow jackets are gone, noting the cost included both the initial visit and follow up visit. We truly appreciated their quick response and taking care of the stinging problem in our yard.

I call to complain but they could really care less and only to send someone back out. An option that only offers me further inconvenience by having to stay home and hope that they show. They also recently went up on the rate at about $5 without notice and when I inquired about that the woman on the responded oh ma'am you should have gotten something in the mail.
