This gym is always full of energy and has a welcoming atmosphere for all people of all age ranges and fitness abilities. Every morning I am greeted personally by every trainer there. All the trainers know all the clients by name. I highly recommend Phonix A+ Coaching!

By far the best private gym I have been to in the St. Louis area. The trainers know how to cater each workout individually to each person and what their goals are or based on any physical issues they have. You are constantly pushed by your trainer to be better. I travel 50 miles round trip 3-4 days a week to work out with Steven and team! For the first time in many years I wake up looking forward to going to the gym in the mornings. The gym is loaded with all the workout equipment you need and very COVID-19 friendly. The trainers are wonderful and take great pride in working with their clients to help achieve their goals. Each workout is tailored to their client, which is my favorite thing about PAC. Every day my workouts are different and challenging! I always leave the gym feeling full of energy and ready to take on the day! If I could give PAC 10 stars, I would!

This gym is an awesome and wonderful place to work out. I have been training for almost 12 years now with Michael and all of the other trainers. It has been a rollercoaster ride over the last 12 years with my workouts and nutrition. Michael has always been there for me to support, push me, and help me stay on track. When I went off the track, he helped get back on. I will always be grateful for him and the others.
As a gym, the atmosphere is quite unique. It is not a regular gym. It is a gym where you can be yourself and work at your own pace and not be judged. It is a fun place to work out. Everyone can be themselves. The other members are fun and all unique in their own way. And I love this. The personalities are so different. This makes it fun to work out.
During this last year and pandemic, PAC never stopped. They offered so many options to help us stay on track and be accountable for our workouts and nutrition. They are working hard now to keep the gym sanitized and safe for us to work out every day. It is incredible how far they go to do this.

I've never been a gym person. I used to exercise at home but then lost my motivation to do that. I gained weight, lost muscle, and wasn't feeling good about myself so I decided to give Phoenix A+ Coaching a try. I started out doing one of their programs that included gym sessions as well as nutrition and continued the sessions once that program was over. Even in the middle of the pandemic shutdown they kept me accountable and worked with me to make sure I was still keeping up exercising at home. Once they reopened, I felt very safe with all the protocols they put in place. The trainers are amazing and the people that go to PAC are awesome! It's a very welcoming and encouraging environment and I'm so glad I decided to take the chance!

Having trained with PAC for a year I always received a great workout. They provided an atmosphere of accountability and motivation always trying to push me a little out of my comfort zone without making me uncomfortable. The flexibility of scheduling and ability to always keep the workout changing and progressing is an added bonus to keeping it interesting. I haven’t attended a charity boot camp but the fact that this is a routine occurrence shows they’re not just about making a difference to the individual but to many organizations and causes.

This is the best gym! All the trainers are educated and want the best for all the clients. The atmosphere is amazing. The way I am trained is specific to my ability. Any time I have to modify any exercise Jesus makes sure that I still get the most out of the move. I can't say enough about this facility and the programs that are offered! PAC is a great gym for any personality, from sports training to bettering your lifestyle. All the trainers are great, and well involved in your growth. The small group training really helps at allowing the trainers to spend plenty of one-on-one time with each individual. The fellow trainees are very friendly. I would highly recommend joining!

I started going to Phoenix A Plus Coaching to incorporate strength training into my fitness routine (primarily running). I work with Page and she is awesome! I've also had a chance to work with the other trainers too and they are all super knowledgeable and push me to do more than I thought I was capable of. They cultivate a supportive atmosphere at the gym as well, people are there to work hard, but there is plenty of fun too - join in Fancy-pants Fridays! Six months in and I see a positive improvement in my overall strength and conditioning. My running endurance has definitely improved - especially on those hills.

I’ve never been super comfortable in a gym atmosphere, but since I’ve been training with Mike, I am able to get more comfortable and realize that I do have the potential and ability to reach my goals. My strength training is perfectly complemented with the yoga classes that are offered. I am able to not only develop my functional strength, but remain flexible and develop better balance skills through yoga classes with Summer. I don’t think that I could find a more perfect place to train- and this is coming from someone who would never even step foot into a gym less than a year ago. Everyone here is seriously the best!

This is such an amazing place! The team is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They have a willingness to customize your program based on an understanding of your hurdles, where you are currently, as well as where you want to go. For that it is great for all fitness levels.
The semiprivate model is great as you get a lot of personal attention towards your daily routine and this also keeps class sizes pretty small. If you keep the same time slot your class quickly turns into a little family and you get to see lots of familiar faces.
Worried about Covid and going to the gym? You don't have to here, small class sizes, one way flow of traffic, extreme focus on sanitation, in addition to it being a large spread out space, leaves you feeling safe.

I’ve been training with PAC for 7 years. The trainers here are fun, flexible, responsible, positive(but not in a toxic way), supportive, challenging, diverse, accepting of all lifestyles, and accommodating. The latter quality was the reason I started working out with them in the first place. I have Cerebral Palsy & there are some exercises I can’t do. But that doesn’t stop me & it doesn’t stop them from creating a quality workout tailored to work on my specific needs. Even with the expansions they are making in Ballwin, I still feel valued & cared about. During the pandemic, I had to take a break because it got so busy over the summer at my job, but they still checked in on me to make sure I knew they were ready for me when I was ready to come back.
I can’t stress enough how much I love this gym! No mirrors, no gym selfies, just like-minded people who are looking to improve their way of life through exercise & nutrition. They even help the community with fundraising boot camps, support local businesses with collaborations like Dr. Adam doing pop-in chiropractic adjustments, & even help up & coming trainers by offering Internships.
It may cost more than a Gold’s gym membership but the quality of individualized trainers, nutritional planning, responsible COVID regulation adherence, and community-oriented mentality it’s definitely worth every penny.

Mike and his facility are amazing!
I've been working out ever since high school and know my way around a gym/weight room. But a couple years ago, I start experiencing lower back pain due to work stress, genetic traits and so many years of lifting (also probably due to poor form in the beginning).
Because of my profession in healthcare, it can be hard for me to trust personal trainers and anyone else in the health & fitness industry. But I knew I needed help getting back into a better and safer routine after I was cleared to start lifting again. I’m so glad Mike at DNA was there to help. Even after one month of training, I’ve noticed so many positive changes – I’ve gotten stronger, feel more confident, look leaner and best of all, I truly have noticed that my back feels better and stronger day by day. Not only that, every training day I’ve had with Mike have never been exactly the same; he mixes new and fundamental exercises geared towards functional fitness that have continued to keep my muscles guessing, while also being mindful of my lower lumbar issues. He’s motivating and helps push me through a workout, without hovering or intrusive. Even with all of my years of being physically active, I’ve managed to learn a ton of new things from training with Mike.
This gym has a great community feel. I’ve previously trained in a Crossfit box/gym before and have sensed a community there, but at DNA, training is based on you becoming a better version of yourself, not about being competitive or out-perform other members. It is also definitely worth mentioning the other trainers and how great they are. Not only do they focus on the safety of their own clients, but also on the safety of other trainer’s clients as well. It can be so easy to injure yourself in a gym environment, so it feels reassuring knowing there are multiple sets of eyes making sure all clients are training safely.
I honestly wish I would’ve started training at this gym sooner. Even if you just have simple fitness goals you want to achieve or need help achieving, or you just want some guidance on proper lifting, I highly recommend paying a visit to Defining Natural Ability’s gym, Mike Keane and the other trainers!

I have been training with Phoenix for many years. Most recently, I have been impressed with the commitment to procedures to keep me safe during Covid. The place has a relaxed, no judgement atmosphere with a great staff. They are continually motivating you with positive reinforcement, while challenging you to do more. I have had to adjust my goals with some health issues and just plain getting older. They help you identify what you want and put a program together to meet them. The staff has quickly identified potential exercises that may be a problem with your own issues and have modified routines to accomplish the same results. I look forward to many MORE years with them.

I entered the doors of PAC in September of 2017, 244 lbs (33% body fat) and expecting to lose a few lbs as part of an entry level workout class. The very first day I remember thinking "why am I even doing this. You will just drop this after a few pounds and commit yourself to being fat the rest of your life." The very first day I walked in Page was friendly and we really talked more about nutrition and they preached that results were 80% kitchen and 20% gym. They weren't going to promise to do anything for me but rather be my coaches through it. I also remember being very self conscience. Growing up I was always very active but struggled with my weight. I had run Half Marathons and 15k's both road and trail but my weight/body composition was never great. I remember Pat (trainer/owner) telling me not to worry "we all start somewhere". I took that to heart and worked my way through the first 6 week introductory class i signed up for. At the end of that I decided to go month to month for 2 days a week. I am not completely obsessed. I go 5 days a week before work and it is the best part of my day. I love working out with Page and the personal attention she puts into my workouts to drive results! I am so thankful I stumbled across PAC. The coaches all greet you by name when you walk in and the PAC family you workout with makes it a fun experience. I am now 160 lbs/11.5% Body fat (-84 lbs/-21.% body fat). I recommend 110%! See attached photo, taken exactly 1 year apart.

My experience with Michael and DNA has been very rewarding. It is a wonderful gym that has outstanding trainers that are very knowledgeable in their fields and are there to help everyone, not only their clients. From day one, I felt welcomed. It has a family atmosphere that is very enjoyable for all. It is a place where you work on your goals, and your goals alone, and not be in competition with others in the gym. If you set goals, they will help you reach them and become a better version of yourself.
I have been working out with Michael for 4 1/2 years. I have overcome so many obstacles in these 4 1/2 years. Michael helped me acknowledge from day one that I can do anything I put my mind to and he pushes me to so many levels that I never knew I could reach. This happens everyday. All workouts are different and unpredictable. That's what makes working out with Michaels so different and fun. You just never know what the day has in store. The same goes with the other trainers at DNA.
As a breast cancer survivor, I truly believe that working out and eating healthy has helped be overcome cancer each and everyday. Michael and DNA helped me change my lifestyle for the better and they can help you make a change for the better.

I like to work out and I like to stay fit but I am terrible at staying committed to going to a gym, working out at home etc..,however my husband and I have been going to DNA for close to 2 years now and we really love it (as much as you can love working out!) The workouts are always changed up, we aren't doing the same thing every time we go, and the trainers are ALL attentive, supportive, fun and professional. Also a comfortable environment for all ages, shapes and sizes! There are plenty of choices out there for trainers but before you make a choice try out DNA first.

First thing - I hate to exercise. Yes I know I'm supposed to do it for my health and all, but I've always dreaded it. I would never imagined that I would wake up at 5:30am to go to the gym. But that changed when I was introduced to DNA. The community there is wonderful. There's no intimidation, egos, etc. Everyone there truly wants you to succeed. The workouts are always different, the weekend classes are great and the monthly challenges really keep you on track. They offer nutrition information and if you have an issue or something is bothering you, they either have the answer or they research it for you. I still don't like to exercise, but after 2 1/2 years with DNA, it has become second nature to me.

I cannot say enough about this business! I have been going here for a little over two years now and physical and mental wellbeing has completely changed. Your coach works with you depending on what your specific goal/likes/dislikes are. There are different time periods that you can sign up for which is nice. Guarantees it won't be too busy. If you go the same time consistently you will start to build a little group of familiar faces. Shout out to my coach Stephen. He is the best!

PAC is by far the best gym I've been to. The trainers (Stephen, Shane and Jesus) are great and work with you to achieve your goals and do it in a unique way-- everyday. No workout is ever the same and that keeps it challenging and keeps you from burnout. The atmosphere is upbeat and energetic which also helps keep you motivated. Good times at PAC! Highly recommend giving them a try.
