If you are looking for a sign to join a gym or get a personal trainer, this is it. Midtown Trainers has been great! Not only have they helped me get back into a great workout routine but they have helped me start to meet my fitness goals. After a little under two months, I have already gained muscle and lost 9 inches off my waist.
I have really enjoyed working with all of the trainers. They are all very professional and they know what they are doing. Each trainer offers a different expertise and together they make a great team!
So, if you are interested, I highly recommend Midtown Trainers!

My experience at Midtown Trainers has been sooooo wonderful. Jay and Lipton are both incredible trainers, who really take their time to understand the people they train, make them feel comfortable, give ultimate support and encouragement, and also provide a really fun, upbeat and energetic environment for you to workout in. The workouts will definitely keep you sweating and keep your heart racing, and I’ve seen a lot of progress in just overall mental health improvement and toning of my muscles as well.
Jay is able to make difficult workouts still enjoyable by switching up methods and adapting to people’s needs. Lipton has an amazing spiritual approach, connecting your nutrition to different emotional roots, and therefore involving the mind, body, and spirit in the entire process. I find this very helpful and I’m super happy with my decision to start training here. Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend this studio! It's a very personalized experience with knowledgeable trainers and staff who spend time to get to know you, your body/health, goals and develop customized plans tailored for you and your needs. The trainers are creative and develop workouts that are different every time which keep you very motivated and never bored. It's also a smaller boutique style gym so you never feel lost and always have attention being paid to form (which is important in particular b/c of the varied nature of all the workouts). They also understand their clientele are professionals with demanding schedules and the trainers are flexible and accommodating with scheduling needs. Jay is one of the best trainers I've worked with!

Highly recommend Midtown trainers! When I first starting going in May, I could hardly do a push-up and now I’m training 3 times a week and am stronger than I have ever been! Jay is the best!! She is getting me wedding ready and pushes me in all the ways I need to be pushed. And Liptons energy classes are always fun. I have been working out with a personal trainer (Jay) at Midtown Trainers for 5+ months and the experience has been exceptional. Day 1 started with a free consultation with the owner (Trey). He and Jay took the time to ask about my personal fitness goals, preferred schedule and frequency of workouts. They put together a workout program that was tailored to my interests and also fit within my budget; truly a white-glove experience.
Working at with Jay has been incredible. At the start, Jay learned that I suffered from lower back pain due to the long hours I spend sitting from my desk. We decided to focus most of our time on core stability exercises to help alleviate that pain and that results have been exceptional. I no longer suffer from lower back pain and can sit for extended periods of time without issue. I would absolute recommend Midtown Trainers for personal training and group exercise classes.

Top notch trainers. I’ve been working with Lipton for a couple of months now. He is super knowledgeable about health and fitness. He’s given me a ton of great tips to incorporate into my routine that are helping me lead a more health conscious lifestyle. The exercises are challenging and there’s a lot of variety so I don’t get bored. I’ve been taking classes with ArKeem as well and those have been really fun and challenging (in a good way!). I like that they monitor your heart rate during workouts to make sure you are being efficient. Also a shout out to Q - she’s super helpful and a great office manager.

Midtown Trainers off Piedmont Road, has been the best rebirth experience for my weight loss journey. My original goal was to lose 30 lbs. I am down 33+ lbs!!!! All within 8 weeks doing the energy workouts! The owner Trey is truly deciatcated in his gym. His All-Star team of trainers Ty, Jay, O, and Mrs. Robertson are amazing, friendly, knowlegable, and professional. What I enjoyed the most about the gym is the the class size 5 people or less. It gives you a personal experience with the trainers to focus on whatever issues you're working on. The gym stays clean and all equipment is in good condition.They definitely provide good vibes. Jay Johnson is the best. I came to Midtown Trainers in January not really knowing what to expect. I have worked out most of my life and am still in pretty good shape for my age. I’m 54. The most important thing for me is to be able to function in life without any hinderances.
Let me tell you….My balance and core strength has improved 100 %. I am also regaining my strength from pre-Covid. I was able to put all of this to test last weekend. I moved for two straight days, carrying boxes, pushing dolly’s, bending and stooping for about 10 hours. My endurance was great and I did not get tired. It was awesome!

I've been training at Midtown Trainers for about 2 months and I do 1-on-1 training with Trey and Ty. They're both great trainers and have their own personal style. I have a knee injury, but they've developed each session to help me strengthen and protect my knees. I've had zero pain. Trey makes sure I keep in proper alignment and when he sees I have a weaker area, he has the ability to adapt the workout and target what's needed. When I train with Ty, I know he's got a workout program tailored to my strength training goals. He includes full body movements, focuses on strengthening the core and includes athletic-type training.
Midtown Trainers has a multitude of services to help support you and your fitness goals. The entire team is supportive and encouraging. I've taken advantage of the stretching program with Mrs. Robinson, a custom meal plan with the in-house nutritionist, and ordered the Fresh-N-Fit meals. Everything is there to set you up for success. It's certainly a commitment, but it's worth it.

To say Midtown Trainers is a game changer is an understatement - Trey and his team are truly life changers!
I have never been an athlete, but a few years ago I ventured into running to try to become healthier and lose weight.
Shortly after I started running, I worked my way up to completing 2 Marathons and dozens of Half Marathons, but with all the success in racing, I never saw any weight loss that I desired.
Determined to get results, I joined Midtown Trainers in March of this year. Within 3 short months, through intense strength training sessions with Trey and his team, as well as nutritional support, I had dropped 2 dress sizes!
Their approach is fun, personalized, and caring and I can't say enough about the support I've received from Midtown Trainers to reach my fitness goals.
That being said, I may have been tempted to stop there - but I'm so glad I didn't. Since then, I honestly have been pleasantly surprised to have achieved even more success than I anticipated when hiring a personal trainer. In addition to dropping sizes, I can also say my posture has improved, my energy level is off the charts, and most recently I reached a personal best for my Half Marathon time by shaving off 15 minutes from my previous finish times!! I have no doubt my time with Midtown Trainers is shaping my life to be a fuller, more exciting adventure than I could have imagined.

I joined Midtown Trainers in July 2021 because I decided that I wanted to “grow old gracefully” and didn’t want my achy knees, tight hips and loss of muscle strength to keep me from being active. I never imagined that I would be getting up at 5:30 3x a wk to workout but since Jay schedules me it has been easy to keep the commitment and I look forward to my workouts! I've never felt more encouraged and motivated to get in shape and correct my diet. As someone who has tried different personal trainers, this is much more than that. You not only get to work with a trainer, they have a professional dietitian, stretch therapy services, massage services and provide some really awesome benefits.
Sure, it's an investment, but I can say I've invested my money in much less fruitful, unnecessary things, and my health is more important than any of that.
Definitely getting some life-altering advice from this place. I went ahead and paid for the next three full months, because that's how confident I am in what's being offered here.

Great atmosphere and very knowledgeable trainers. I’ve been training with Ty 3 times a week for a few weeks now in the group sessions and can already feel an overall difference in energy levels and body definition. Group Sessions are small groups of at most 4 and trainers keep everything well sanitized with masks on hand. They also have private sessions if you want one on one workouts. My mom does these. Definitely recommend!

I’m really enjoying my time here doing the H.A.T.S. program. I was in a car accident with a tractor trailer, and have only been able to lift 2lbs for over a year. Just two weeks in the program I’m able to comfortably do 10lb weights. A random dog came charging at me, and I was able to lift my 65lb husky and run away with him in my arms. I was never able to lift him even before the accident. I’m getting stronger and healthier every week. I’ve already lost a pants size went from a 10 to a 8 in just two weeks. My only regret is that I didn’t join sooner.

They are very good! I came in for general fitness/weight loss and back problems. Trey and team started with a thorough meeting of expectations, options and questions. I have been working with Trey at Midtown Trainers for a month, and I am very pleased with the focus and level of communication and professionalism that I have found with the entire team.
In the previous 18 months, I had lost a significant amount of weight through diet and exercise on my own. However, I had plateaued and wanted to work with someone who could help me take my fitness and nutrition to a level that would challenge me and help me establish an advanced foundation for the rest of my life as I approach my 40th birthday.
Trey and his team took time to see what was unique about my situation and the best way to improve the areas that were holding me back.
While my nutrition and endurance were at good levels, my strength and coordination were lacking. Trey has slowly developed better balance and flexibility through a measured approach that has shown incremental improvements from week to week. I have also experienced improvement in my core strength that has led to improved times in distance and short mileage running.
The biggest tool I have gained at Midtown is a clear picture of how my heart rate plays into the quality of my exercise and development. Because my heart rate is naturally low, I was not burning a lot of calories or developing strength running flat miles or logging time on an elliptical machine. Now, I actively monitor my heart rate to know exactly how my body is performing, and confidently push myself harder during everything from a trail run up a mountain or a spin class at the Y. Its not always the time I am putting in running or at the gym, it is what I am doing with that time that is helping me grow and achieve my goals.
I would highly recommend Midtown Trainers to anyone who wants professional guidance in their fitness journey.

I have been working out at Midtown Trainers for almost a year now, and I still think it was the best decision I have ever made. I walked in, very skeptical (having met with three trainers previously and not connecting with any of them), embarrassed about my appearance, and nervous for the future. I had my consultation with Trey, and he spent a lot of time going over things with me and making me feel comfortable. He was honest, straightforward, and very informative. We talked not only about my workout goals, but diet plans, nutrition, and more.
I work out at Midtown Trainers typically 4 days a week with Trey, and I love it. I never feel self-conscious or neglected. My workouts are fresh, fun, and I am always given a lot of variety. Whenever I am with my trainer, they are always 100% focused on me, whether it be helping me keep count of reps, correcting my form so I don't injure myself, or encouraging me when I feel like I can't go on, they are there.
When Trey has had other obligations or is booked, he always makes sure that I either work with another trainer or he goes out of his way to accommodate to my schedule. I am so eternally grateful for Trey and all of the staff at Midtown Trainers, they helped me out of a very dark place in my life. Trey is so dedicated to his clients that he even allows them to text him whenever they want. When I injured my back, Trey lent me his back brace and helped so much in my recovery that even my physician was shocked with the rate of my healing.
Having been there for so long, I have had the pleasure of working with all of the trainers, and they are all fantastic. Midtown Trainers has fun outings for members frequently which I really enjoy going to. They also have gym-wide 'Challenges', such as burning 5,000 calories in two weeks with prizes and swag. I never get bored or lose motivation.
Midtown Trainers is not only a gym, its a community, and I highly, highly recommend it.

Midtown Trainers is great. It;s just the jump start you need to get back to your healthy self. They work at your pace, understand what works best for you and even guide your eating habits. They are very encouraging as well. I lost 45lbs in 9 months. I didn't rate them at 5 stars because they are not equipped to change your clothes, they aren't any evening or weekend training opportunities and the staff transition wasn't messaged well. I still enjoyed working with them a lot and have the results to back that statement up.

I LOVE working out with Midtown Trainers! The heart-rate controlled workouts have really made a difference for me. I tried working out on my own before for years, but never got the results I have gotten here in just a month in a half! I have noticed at a regular gym like LA Fitness, they have personal training, but it is often in a group setting or if it's one on one, I notice they don't use heart rate monitors. I am so happy I chose to get one-on-one attention at Midtown Trainers. They also offer a way to get a great and affordable meal plan that is cheaper than when I grocery shop on my own. Every work out is different and I leave feeling very accomplished. They really care about your results here and are concerned with your progress. Some guys when they have their midlife crisis buy a sports car. Me, I decided to spend the rest of my life in good shape. After recovering from years of shoulder problems, I lacked upper body strength and had an impressive beer gut. My time in the "big box" gym was spent mostly doing mind-numbing cardio and waiting in line for machines and benches occupied by people staring at their phones. I knew I needed to try something different.
I found Midtown Trainers in my online search results and it looked like just the kind of one-on-one training I had in mind. I scheduled an introductory session with Trey. ("Day One" as I call it.) I was concerned I was going to get a high-pressure sales pitch, but Trey immediately put that worry to rest. He was knowledgable, focused on my personal goals, and laid out all the options MT offers with consideration toward my schedule and budget.
That was three months ago. I tell my friends who ask about my transformation that I didn't hire a trainer... I hired a TEAM of trainers. Because that's what it feels like working with Midtown Trainers. Trey and his team of certified professionals have worked around (and beyond) my physical limitations to provide a personalized experience that would be hard to match in any other setting.

What's best about Midtown is that they listen. They listen to your goals and needs, and take it into account when designing your workouts or even your dietary needs. I was very concerned about my form as I had a back injury. They not only made sure my form was safe, but also focused on increasing my lower back strength. I've been pain free for over a year now, and Midtown was a huge factor.
This was only possible because of the 1 on 1, focused nature of their workout studio. I wouldn't have achieved the same results in a larger gym.

After 2 ACL surgeries, and developing knee pain from arthritis, I was struggling to move, walk or even sleep at age 45. After the past 18 months of treatments with doctors, physical therapy, and constant pain, I was desperate to find a gym to fit my needs and get me moving again. Needed a gym/trainers that could create an individualized work out for me to strengthen the joint and the muscles in my leg/core. The other requirements I needed were that I have to be at work at 7AM every morning so 6AM start time would not work. I also have 3 little ones under 5 years old so evenings was not an option. Needed a gym with tons of flexibility (to easily get into a routine), open early (most trainers/gyms open at 6AM), took a "smart" approach to exercising (with software to monitor your heart rate and record previous workouts) and most of all was a little different. Midtown Trainers seemed to fit the bill, but was apprehensive initially.
After 4 months, I have no knee pain. All of my muscles around my knee so much stronger and getting even stronger. No heavy weights, just smart exercising. They start sessions at 5AM in 15 min increments so the flexibility has been great. I am able to get a session in, ice and shower, all before 7AM. Their scheduling software is top notch. Trainers (all of them) are well prepared and come with different routines every time. Working with different trainers also keeps it fresh (ALL of my workouts have been different). Lastly, the office is very responsive to all of my questions. Overall, very satisfied with shop. Plan to keep working with them and make this a permanent routine.

I had been working with the same trainer for over five years and unfortunately after doing the same repetitive single motion exercises over and over, I had developed some injuries and was feeling really defeated with my fitness goals.
Then in July, I met Trey and he designed a new fitness and nutrition program custom tailored to my specific needs. Trey has really opened my eyes and my knowledge base on so many levels. We are working through the injuries by developing strength in the surrounding muscles while simultaneously developing increased core strength and endurance. I have just finished a year long contract with MT, and I am extremely happy with my experience. I am a wrestling coach, so I know fitness and strength training well, but I found that I was losing motivation and feeling stagnant in my workouts, so I reached out to MT. It wasn't cheap, so I really wanted a personal and professional experience, and that is what they provided. I worked with a number of different trainers over the course of the year, and each one designed intense, personalized workouts.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: I suffered two injuries this year while wrestling, which required surgery and rehab. MT worked with me to postpone my scheduled sessions while I was invalided. This allowed me to get quickly back in action after rehab and get back in shape. I am 100% now, and I don't think that I would have had the motivation to recover as quickly had I not had the positive experience at MT.
Finally, through the quarantine, their trainers have been willing to come to my "backyard gym" and design specific and tough workouts using the equipment I have (heavy kettlebells battle ropes). THIS SAVED MY SANITY AND HEALTH THROUGH THE QUARANTINE.
If you are looking for a good group of trainers, who will get you off your couch during quarantine and will work to be flexible with you through adversity. This is the group to go with.
