Reviews of HUGE Improv Theater
It was a great improve show! For ten dollars, our family saw four different improve duos. Other than a couple of swear words, it was very family friendly. We bought the tickets online the same day and appreciated that there was no drink minimum. It would be fun to see them at their new venue.
Plan ahead notes: go early! We went half an hour before the show started and we were glad we did because parking in Lyn Lake is never simple. The theatre has a small lot, but it fills up quickly, so plan on meter/street parking. Also note that they currently request proof of vaccination.
Review: very fun! We went to see Star Trek: the Next Improvisation and had a great time! The setting is small and casual (the theatre holds about 100) and the casts are very on point and funny. They have a small bar in the back of the house where you can get 1 drink for about $5, but I didn’t see any non-alcoholic choices, so something to note if you can’t have alcohol. Overall a fun time with lots of laughs!
A super tiny venue, but it was such a fun experience. Very laid back, and from where I was sitting it seemed like it was a full house. Based on all the performance memorabilia that adorns the walls, they've been around for a long time-- and with how engaging the performance was, that makes total sense.
Very fun night, great production values with the star trek improv, including a live soundtrack/sound effects. The only things I'd suggest is
1. Audience suggestions to help shape the plot (the dictionary thing didn't really work)
2. Some non alcoholic beers at the bar (or kombucha, not a fan of sugary sodas or alcohol, so I didn't buy anything)
Instructor Gabi make the newbie one-hour drop in class super fun and welcoming. Came in with no expectations and left feeling grateful for the chance to be silly with a lovely group of strangers who I otherwise wouldn’t have met.
Intimate theater with supporting, friendly community behind it. Hosting several improv shows every week. Great lineup on Wednesday nights, will come back. 12 dollars ticket.
Haven’t been since pre-pandemic days and it was a blast! You can always expect a good laugh and a great evening at HUGE. If you’ve never been to an improv show here before, do it!
This improv shop is a Twin Cities gem. 5 stars feels a bit biased on my part, so take the rating with a grain of salt. The mission/goals of the org are, among other things, focused on increasing diversity, which os awesome. The leadership is incredibly diverse and they seem to have made it a point to seek after (and support) teams/acts that are diverse as well. I have enjoyed every one of my times there and consider them an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a laugh in the Twin Cities. There are shows more or less every night. Parking can be difficult. There is a satellite lot nearby.
Huge Theater is a wonderful spot for long-form Improv. Yes there are two types of Improv, short-form "Who's line is it anyway" and long-form which is well improvised scenes and stories from 5-90 minutes long. I love the way they take a few suggestions form the audience at the beginning and then make a whole show out of that. Some of the Best Improv Comedy in the Midwest I have ever seen has been on this stage!
I've never been to a show here but I have a child with special needs and they open up their theater for special classes/training for kids with Down Syndrome etc.
I have only been to three shows so far due to covid, but I have really enjoyed the talent of the groups I've seen. each performer brought their unique styles of comedy to the stage and had the audience in tears with laughter. support local theater! 🎭 …
Great theater that is a wonderful community partner. I love their focus on inclusivity and accessibility. Affordable tickets and classes, and just a group of all-around amazing people. Go! You won't regret it!
I have been a student and audience member of HUGE since 2018 and I fall in love with it more and more each time I visit the theater. The community is quirky and welcoming and hilarious. I have laughed and cried at shows. I have met amazing people here. HUGE prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity (it is not the typical white people lip service to “diversity”). I feel comfortable bringing my mom here, my friends—it’s truly a space for anyone. And that’s not an easy feat.
Great entertainment spot. Serves alcohol but you must buy per ID, which is a PITA when you just want to get a around for friends. Being Upper 40s will put you in older crowd, mostly college kids in audience. The comedy was fantastic, highly recommended.
I’ve been going to shows and classes here since 2013. The people at the theater are kind, bright, and talented. I’ve laughed and cried at beautiful shows. Among many close friends, I also happened to meet my partner of 9 years here. 5 stars.
Loved how creative the actors were. They kept us entertained throughout the evening. Definitely worth the $10 per person admission and will definitely come back. I don't know what Vilification Tennis is though lol!
HUGE is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. It's a small theater with a huge variety of improv available, and the tickets are reasonably priced (cheap, even - in other words, excellent value)! Classes are excellent, too, and you can rent the theater as a practice space. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. There are decent NA options in the lobby and a bar in the theater if you'd like a beverage while you watch. Check out multiple shows on Fridays and Saturdays, sometimes-experimental improv on Sundays, or a variety show on Wednesdays. Or watch/join an improv jam on Thursday night.
HUGE Theater is more than just shows--it is a community treasure. Each performance is "the actors' and directors' own interpretation of how to solve the puzzle of long form improv." If you have a bad experience, talk to the staff (or some random improviser in the audience) about what shows they would recommend. If you have a good experience, share it with others. And if you are one of those people sitting in the crowd thinking "I could this," then do it. Take a class, check out a jam, immerse yourself in a community that strives to live up to the motto of "Yes, and...."
Amazing! Spontaneous!!Clever and witty!! Talented cast and terrific intimate venue! Three cheers!
I have cried laughing at multiple shows here! There are so many different kinds of groups to see, with a rotating roster, so each night is different. Classes here are also SO welcoming, even if the thought of doing improv seems scary to you at first.
I love this space. Watch great shows, have rehearsal space, take fun classes and community awesomeness!
HUGE is the home of "long-form" improv in the Twin Cities. What you'll see is closer to an unscripted play than the "short-form" games on Whose Line Is It Anyway. It may be funny, but it could also be dramatic, or suspenseful, or poignant, or zany, or another adjective. It's different every night. Try going to HUGEtheater.com and picking a show you think you might like. This community has put their hearts and souls into elevating the art form of Improvisational Theater. I cannot recommend it enough.
Huge Improv Theater is A-W-E-S-O-M-E ... as a student or an audience member. They are inclusive, welcoming to EVERYONE, have FANTASTIC teachers (some famous around the world). The location has free parking, fun beverages and provide guaranteed laughs. You will feel great, have fun and want to go back. You might even want to take a class or donate to their org so they can keep up the good work and/or help others with scholarships. YEA for HUGE Theater!!!!!
Two lessons and I am awestruck already! To me these lessons/workshops are like therapy, no matter how tired you enter you will leave after 2 hours wanting to come back ASAP!
You need to be fully vaccinated and masked up to enter this place. Good place to hang out with friendly democrats, and also keeps the jerks away.
Great staff, clean bathrooms, great stage layout. Not a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend going to see shows here.
Great inclusive place to watch hilarious people make you laugh
Been to several shows. Always, always a great time! I even took an improv class there, too! My instructor Jill was simply amazing. She created a safe and fun space to learn improv. I was able to apply many of the lessons to my life and work. In fact, in a recent job interview, I brought up the brick and cathedral metaphor when asked about collaboration! I'm happy to say I nailed the question and now have a new job! Huge thanks to Jill.
I am always impressed by HUGE. I walked in for the first time a few years ago. And the warmth and acceptance that everyone there exudes was just the first thing that struck me. And then there was the laughter. So much laughter.
I’ve been going back ever since. It’s rare you find such a beautiful, loving community. But what they built here is that—and so much more.
A wonderful local small business for watching or learning something new! Wonderful performances and people in a chill atmosphere.
Always a good time and love the intimate venue.
After visiting many different improv theaters all over the US and Canada, I have to say that HUGE Theater really has something special going on there.
The leadership and volunteers are nothing but kind and supportive, and it’s very clear that HUGE strives to showcase quality performances, while giving equal opportunity to anyone who’d like to perform, as well as to keep ticket prices low.
The space itself is intimate and cozy, which yields to a very nice improv experience, there’s not one bad seat from the audience perspective. So far it’s been a 5/5 experience for me.
Omg found you finally. I was introduced to this place by an amazing teacher in Chanhassen my improv teacher at the high school. I loved going to her class and she is the one who gave me the courage to show more people the talentI had. My daughter even came with and she was 3 we all had a blast. I would love to try and get back into it. So glad to see your there and going strong!!!
The best place for long-form improv in the twin cities. Check their website for the lineup, but I’d typically recommend Saturday nights - they had me laugh-crying.
Me and a friend walked by this place on a Friday and decided to go see a show and it did not disappoint! Cute small cozy venue and we even stayed for the next show. Will return :)
Great improv venue! I've been going here since 2013, and I've introduced many friends to it, as well. My husband and I love the holiday show, Family Dinner. If you like rapid-fire, random humor, The Mess is always a ton of fun. They also have a regular smattering of new seasonal shows.
Not only do I love being entertained at Huge, I took classes here that changed my life! You have to check this place out! I appreciate how centered they are to serve community and make improv accessible for all 😊 …
A hidden gem in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis. I've been to many shows as an audience member and have also participated in HUGE workshops, stage shows, and classes. It's the BEST.
A great place to go when youre bored n want a fun night out
An amazing example of lifting each other up and looking out for one another is displayed here. If you're looking for a place to support that's fair, honest, and decent, then this is a place for you. Low-cost/high-quality experience.
A friend and I stopped in for an Improv A Go Go show on a recent Sunday night. This show is great because you pay what you want (we paid $15 between the two of us), and you get an entertaining show. 4 groups performed, some stronger performances than others, but all enjoyable. There was a great crowd there, and drinks served, as well.
The beauty of improv is that every show is different and there's something for everyone. HUGE puts on great shows. Support local theater!
It's hard to judge improv and comedy since everyone has their own brand, but the shows that night were not for me. They were a bit different from what I expected, but obviously the show will frequently change. They do have bar service and seating is relatively casual compared to a more traditional theater. Very intimate and all spots are close to the stage, which is great.
I had never been here before but I had a really great experience! The show (it was Agatha Christie-based) was really funny, and the intimate setting let you really see the facial expressions and participate in the action. The actors/improvisers were all very talented.I'd love to see another show there!
When this was suggested as entertainment for the evening, my best friend and I rolled our eyes. Five minutes into the show we were rolling on the floor. Incredibly funny, unbelievably improved, and the live soundtrack brings it home. We attended the superhero night on Saturday and could not recommend it highly enough!
We are on vacation and happened to come across the theatre while searching for things to do. I'm so glad we did!! Funny Funny Funny!!
Kings show was hilarious! The quintet of improvisation actors and actresses were extremely talented and they provided an extremely enjoyavle hour of comedy at a very low price! Workers at huge were all very friendly as well! I would definitely recommend an evening here with a friend, significant other or group of people! Fun for the whole family
Went to a Monday night Show X improv performance and me and my best friend were crying tears from laughter. Super fun and welcoming environment. Definitely recommend
Great Theater. Great people. Diverse classes. Great shows. And did I say great people? The group of people who run HUGE are very welcoming, especially Jill. All thanks to my super awesome fall 2018 Sunday afternoon 101 coaches,"Erik" and "Pam" for a fantastic semester, and I look forward to taking the 201 course. :)
The best improv comedy in the world! So funny every single night. This place is like a home away from home.
I've been coming here ever since I moved to the cities and it's always been great. Today I came in and realized that I accidentally bought a ticket to the show at the same time next week. Without hesitation, they switched my ticket to today, even though it was close to showtime and it was nearly sold out. Great people and great entertainment!
A friend of mine performs at HUGE so I went to check out her show. I've been twice now and have had a great time on both occasions. The performers are very talented and funny. The people at the theater are also just really nice. Like, all of them. People smile at you and say hi when they don't even know you. That's pretty rare in most spaces.
Huge Theater is a great, affordable place to see Improv comedy. Sometimes I just need to have a beer, forget about all my worries and sit down for a good laugh. Last Friday I was in the mood for this kind of night and I went to HUGE at 8 PM. I paid $10 and was having so much fun that I stayed until midnight! When I got home my stomach hurt, in a good way from all the laughing and I just generally was feeling euphoric. I highly recommend going to Huge.
A life changing place, lovingly operated by some of the best people you'll ever meet. You'll always feel like you're home when you're at HUGE.
Someone bought me tickets to the shows at HUGE Theater for my birthday yesterday. What a great present. The performance space is a basic black box setup. It's a smallish space which creates a very intimate experience. The folks who were working the ticket counter were very friendly and professional. The lobby has a couple of fridges that offer sodas and flavored sparkling water for $2 and the performance space has a bar area where beer and wine is served. Last nights line up included 4 different groups/acts. Creature Feature was an 8 person team that performed an improvised horror movie which was lasted about an hour and a half. They were very good and it was a fun show that kept the audience engaged the whole time. The second act was Mayhem a 2 person team that performed 4 different stories. I dont know the history of the duo but it seemed they have been working together for a while as their chemistry was excellent. They performed for approximately an hour. Third was a solo act James (last name forgotten). This was a fun act where he improvised songs based on title suggestions from the audience. Each song was different and fun. He did a great job. Finally was Guts and Teeth. A 7 person team who performed several different scenes based on 3 suggestions. A fun group with some really excellent performers. The standout here for me was the young lady with the blue hair. Not only was she very talented she was super cute too. Each show has their own tickets which cost 8 or 9 dollars per show. Overall, this was a really fun experience at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend you catch this line up which lasts through October. Finally, HUGE offers classes of both the free and pay for variety. So if you'd like to learn more about improv, they can hook you up. Check these guys out and support your local theater talent.
Hilarious, affordable and great beer selection! What more could you ask for?
Great improv comedy. Saw "Family Dinner" and the players were quite good. I enjoyed how well they interacted with each other and made fun scenes. The space was good and bad, it was small enough that it felt intimate which is great for conedy, but also tight in that it felt we were sitting on top of each other. Looking forward to going back.
This place is great. I have been twice, the last time was just this past Saturday. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I bought tickets to the first two shows and the second show was not good. The first one was awesome (as always) but the second group was not good or maybe it was an off night. Will definitely be going back but will stick to the first show only.
For our visit, the improv was somewhat "planned" with an historical story as the baseline for skits. The show was ok. I think if they had included some dynamic interaction for the audience to provide elements for the skits it would have been more entertaining. The actors and actresses certainly appeared to have the improv skills to embrace that extra challenge.
There is bar at the back of the room, which was really convenient. The chair backs had interesting and fun plaques like "Most awesome person in the room", "Donated by my dead father", etc. Be sure to read your chair for a fun side story!
There's a free parking lot, which is super convenient for Uptown. There's even a small overflow parking lot mid-alley. The area feels very safe and casual. Staff is super friendly.
What a loving, improvised embrace from some of the best people improv comedy has to offer. If you are fortunate enough to be in the Midwest, make a pilgrimage to this bastion of creativity and kindness.
I always have a great time at HUGE. it's a great price and an amazing way to spend a night. I appreciate that they have 3 different show times so you can choose how long you want to stay. I would definitely recommend checking it out! Great location just south of Lyn lake
People, this place rocks! I took Improv 101 and am currently in the Improv 201 class. The teachers are amazing. The people in and around HUGE are also amazing . Go see a show! Take a class! You will not be disappointed.
Easily the best long-form improv in the Twin Cities. A wide variety of styles and forms, each featuring some of the best talent in the state. If you enjoy improvised theater, you can't afford to miss this place
A very talented and quick-witted group of people. I don't think I ever stopped laughing.
The place was almost completely full on a Monday night--so I knew I was in for a treat. I will definitely go back many, many times in the future and suggest it to family and friends.
Love this place! Me and my girlfriend went here on a double date (for the first time might I add) and it was so much fun! I would highly recommend going to the Law & Order show at 10:30. Plus tickets are dirt cheap compared to other similar shows!
As always, an absolutely hilarious and fun evening watching the Monday night 'Show X'! The talent is pretty great and they do an awesome job conforming to the audience (there was a young child there and they kept language and gestures under control).
Affordable, live theater powered by local talent 6 nights a week! Very fun, and late night shows on the weekend right in the belly of the beast Lyndale and 31st. Highly recommend.
I think this is the first Google review I've left. I visited Mpls this weekend and went to Family Dinner last night (December 1st), and it was one of the most fun and innovative improv shows I've seen. Bravo to all the performers! You're all very funny!
Go! See! Do!
This place has one of the best improv communities in North America!
You can watch Improv 6 nights a week, take improv classes, become a member, volunteer. They do outreach, are welcoming and, yes! Funny.
My boyfriend and I went on Friday and saw Dungeons & Dragons. Seriously one of the best performances I've ever seen. You don't have to like the game to enjoy the show. They make you feel like you are watching a hilarious real life version of it. I hope these guys go somewhere.
Goofy and talented improv artists in a low key setting. Plus they have improv classes for kids & adults... And they are a community. The last time I was there was a fundraiser event for a friend of the cast in medical crisis. This place is art, fun, and love.
Fun little Venue. I've been here 3 times: once for the MN fringe festival, once for a long-term improv show, and one for a musical improv show. They have a really good variety of performers and shows, and none of the shows left me feeling disappointed. Comfortable seating with good views of the stage. I've had 3 great experiences there and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys improv or is wanting to experience something new!
I cannot adequately express how much I LOVE Huge theater. I've been coming here since they opened in 2011 and the entertainment is authentic, hilarious, and consistent top notch. If you've never been here, Monday nights are a great time to come. Show X, a rotating group of their most experienced improvisers, put on a fantastic show for only $7. It's not hard to find a good seat if you come a few minutes early. The improvers are incredibly talented. One Monday a month is celebrity guest night, which has ranged from Vikings players to local musicians and tv personalities. I've never had a bad time at Huge over the past 5 years- it's my go-to for entertainment with friends in the Twin Cities.
Beautiful, safe, and diverse space. The folks were welcoming. The comedy was family friendly. Plus people were able to go outside of their comfort zone. I’ll definitely be going back.
Came here for my first time to see a Christmas Carol unscripted. Was very happy with the site. The stage is smaller than other improv but that was not an issue for the cast. Was laughing the whole time.
This show was put on by comedy sportz so there is likely a difference between this show and a normal HUGE show. My friends said HUGE is still a great theater.
Huge is a beacon of creativity openness and inclusion. The shows are diverse, funny and amazing on many levels, and the community is a model of what is possible not just for the city and artistic communities but for the nation . Huge is not made of perfect people, just thoughtful folks who can admit shortcoming , address problems, and make progress on there goals. Not just make lip service. Over the past year it's been easy to see many more POC and queer folk join us making it a funnier more exciting and beautiful place and community. You definitely need to check it out.
I went to Huge for a drop in class. I was impressed how there was something that could apply to improvisers of any skill level.
The teachers, are positive and encouraging here.
Spacejam, was the best part. Improvisers of all skill levels can perform on Thursday nights. Not only did I get to put my improv skills to the test. But I got to know some really great people after the show. To top it off there's no charge to participate. This goes to show some of the best things in life really are free.
Improv, the fickle little sibling in the comedy family... Thankfully, we hit this theater on an up night. An extremely talented group entertained with quick wit in Family Dinner. The next bunch, after orienting myself to the next style of performance, made my ADHD brain look focused. But they did it. I had tears! Well done HUGE! I will be back for sure!
Not huge. We were entertained. Talented group of folks the night we were there. If you like improve, you'll love this place.
Not expensive.
They have a limited selection of beer and do not server food.
This is definitely one of the best spots to watch raw improv comedy in Minneapolis. None of it is commercialized like other venues, and the individuals on stage truly have a passion for what they're doing. I always have a great experience when I visit HUGE.
We had a great time. Never been there before and thought we’d give a try. Glad we went and will definitely return. The cast was talented and funny and the staff was very kind and helpful.
HUGE Theatre embodies the spirit of "You can't hate someone if you know their story." They tell us stories. They show us characters. And despite the owner of the building that houses it, HUGE Theatre is it's people. They're not their landlord. Now go donate! Cause it's not going to hater dude... It's going to the organization HUGE!
This is THE PLACE to go for improv in the cities! The price is more then fair for entertainment that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Spend your dollars here instead of giving Hollywood your hard earned cash, Disney has enough money. Shows are always rotating so they give you plenty of reason to return. Beer is priced very well!
The best place to see improv in the Twincy. It's cheap, there's a bar, and, most importantly, it's hilarious. The actors do a great job feeding off of each other, and the level of creativity is mind blowing. I also really appreciate the staff, as they do a great job to regulating hater-hecklers, while still encouraging appropriate audience interactions. The space is intimitate enough to make eye contact with the actors, but large enough to feel "real." This place is on my weekly rotation since there's always a fun show and it's super cheap. Huge Improv beats Netflix on a cold Wednesday for sure!
Some of the funniest shows you’ll see anywhere! Not every one is a winner, but if you find the right one (which will probably exist because there is a wide variety) you’ll be laughing your butt off. My favorite show that’s currently up is “The Mess.” Veteran improvisers that are clearly masters of their craft. At $10 a show, it’s not too much of a drain on the wallet to attend regularly. If you’re not into the first thing you see there, see something else the next time. It won’t take long to find something truly special.
Really funny shows. Weekend evenings they put on a lot of great shows back to back
Huge Theater is a place of inclusivity, creativity, and positivity. And it's also the spot in town with the most laughs per square foot every night of the week. There's no better improv theater in town - or perhaps the country - when it comes to doing funny while doing good.
This is one of the best venues for sheer creativity, hilarity, and levity! The improv is always excellent, and I appreciate the variety of their productions. I'm so glad that we have HUGE in the twin cities!
HUGE's BIPOC improv jam is back, I hear! The main reason I'm invested and active in improv. Lovely staff and inclusive programming.
Great theater, awesome acts, never a dull performance!
Wonderful, funny shows at reasonable prices with great folks.
Greatest improv you'll find in the cities. Its long form though, not the games you might be familiar with. Still a great time with funny actors. I've been 4 or 5 times and would go again.
'Creature Feature' is my favorite fall seasonal show series. Too many shows to name and the cast delivers entertainment. Try their improv classes. Learn a bit about thinking on your feet and about yourself.
We went here for an improv show. Wonderful seating, drinks available, and staff were super friendly. Looking forward to coming back.
Super fun place - great for dates, fair pricing.
Small venue and can fill up. They also have beer for the shows. Parking is available in the back if you drive around the alley it will be marked. I love improv Jane Austin.
HUGE! You light my spirit on fire. I laugh, I feel free, I feel alive and at home. I can't get enough of HUGE either as a student OR as an audience member. Keep being HUGE.
I have been going to improv at HUGE for about 9 months now. I'm constantly entertained and surprised by the excellent quality of improv on stage. Whether it's the delightful antics of those Minneapples, the strangely absent beards of Bearded Men Improv, the quirky weirdness of Mustache Rangers, the crazy, frenetic energy of Foterson, the intriguing new ideas of Interplanetary Appeal, or the genre-based improv of Star Trek or RomCom, you will see something memorable and outrageous. I can't recommend HUGE highly enough. Go. Go! to Improv!
Fun, local comedy groups, good drinks, close to some good bars and restaurants for before and after. Makes for a nice date night or time with friends. Highly recommend double features on the weekends
Went for Improv a go go, as an introduction to various improv groups represented at the theatre. Supportive crowd. The Latinx jam group of three people was hilarious. Would like to return!
So much fun. Our group went to the first show back and we loved it. Thanks HUGE!
Best place for comedy & fun in Minnesota. Plus, beer & wine bar with great selection including gluten free beer and cider! Just $10 most nights!
Highly recommended! Great if slightly uneven improv performances with new material every night. Cheap tickets, cheap beer, good people!
As they say, every show is different. Always a fun time! The small venue is also nice. Makes for a much more intimate show.
Great space and people. Diversity is a goal for them, so LGBTQ events, women events. people of color events and all of these encourage participation in performing as well as being there to watch.
This is a nice little improv place. We've seen a few performances here. The skill levels.of the performers varies, so keep that in mind when setting your expectations.
POC Improv jams have became my way of meeting other black and brown folks in the Twin Cities who want to exercise their stage muscle a bit in a safe, high-energy, and skillfully supervised environment.
I can't thank John Gebretatose, the diversity officer at HUGE, enough for making and growing the POC improv programs for over 2 years now.
POC Improv jams are every last Sunday of the month. If you identify as black or brown, come out to HUGE and ask for to get signed up for the POC email list. You won't regret it!
Very funny. We saw "The Mess". Small intimate seating area. Reasonable prices. Good beer selection. We'll be going back for sure.
HUGE is a staple in the community. Everyone is hilarious, you won’t regret checking it out!!
Improvathon was fantastic. Love the snacks and staff is more energetic then anyone you'll meet.they have to be btw, because they're in improv.
Awesome experience! Great people, hilarious shows and fun overall time. Recommend for family, date, friend group etc!
YES! Huge is great, the best improv place in town. They have all sorts of different wonderful shows, and they offer biker benefits.
We always have a great time here, inexpensive drinks and choose your own price shows on Sundays. No complaints whatsoever :)
Everytime I attend shows at HUGE I have a great time.
Fantastic little theater in uptown! Saw an improv show (Throw Back) and it was great. Aaron Cook is an incredible actor.
Cute little spot to watch an improv show. Huge is a horrible name for it...should be "Tiny" people are very nice there but the stage is super small and limited seating
Amazing shows with great talent! I would definitely recommend if you're looking for some great laughs.
Plenty of parking, on and off street. They do serve beer here which is cool. The theater itself is pretty small and they really pack you in there.
My 7yo nephew loved his first Rated G show - in fact, we're planning his second visit for his birthday!
amazing performances and pleasant ambiance! I couldn't even ell the performers were improvising everything! truly a place to be!
Huge is always a fun time. Super casual, inclusive and diverse shows always get you laughing. They do classes too.
The venue feels a little cramped, but the show was so much fun. The actors are great at their craft.
Huge is my favorite improv theatre in Minneapolis. Hilarious. Amazing what these groups can do on the spot, and you can't beat the price.
Best place in the cities to see improv of all skill level.
This place has inspired me to take some improv classes myself! I love every show I've been to!
Very talented performers and a wide-range of entertaining shows, from singing to Star Trek. A very fun night for a group outing.
This place is great! The setup is good, they serve beer, and, most importantly, the improv is fantastic (most of the time... so it goes with improv).
Good show. However, like all things in uptown politics of course was shoved in and shoved down my throat. How about you just be funny and not remind me of how marganalized you think you are.
They are a welcoming space if you are new to theater. You'll definitely make friends & have a great time.
One of the only spots in town to see some comedy. 6 nights a week. Even nights that are Pay-What-You-Can. There is something for everyone!
I started taking improv classes to meet people in the Twin Cities when I moved here, now this place is my social life. Amazing improv, amazing humans.
Took a summer intensive here, can’t recommend it enough! Such a great and friendly community with really funny improvisers and shows!
great little venue with a nice but small bar selection of both NA and alcoholic stuff to enjoy with your comedy.
This place has turned into a second home for me. Take a class. It's a wonderful experience.
Love this spot. A place to enjoy great local Improv, to improve your own skills, and to connect with others who enjoy creating on the fly.
What an amazing experience! Laugh out loud funny, dynamic and full of energy. Totally want to go back again. Also...what a value!
best and funniest place to go by yourself with friends. I met the love of my life here so I may be biased I go often and so should you.
Some of the improv was okay, some if it was super great! It was a really fun and we'll priced experience!
Great community with exceptional talent! Was not expecting to laugh like I did, for I am typically not a huge improv person.
World class improv 6 nights a week! Not a bad price and there are no bad seats in the house.
Great little theater for taking in a show. The stage is small, but affords easy access for audience participation.
Went here for improv lessons. If you're interested in that sort of thing, I can't think of another place you could possibly even go, especially not one with the kind of experience these guys have.
Amazing show! Such a fun night and not too expensive either
The Monday night shows are amazing and the actors a so talented. I highly recommend going on Mondays.
This was my first time going to an improv show. I was very skeptical, half-expecting to be cringing during most of the show. I was quite wrong. I was cracking up the entire time, and have been back several times since.
Been a bunch of times and like to bring people when they come from out of town!
YES, I give HUGE Theater 5 stars AND I highly recommend checking out shows there!
Have loved this place for years. Hilarious, affordable shows. A treasure of the Lyn-Lake neighborhood.
This place has some very funny shows, and the staff is nice too.
This place makes you feel like home! Great shows nearly every night!
It's improv. Lots of different shows, some quite innovative. Deals if you go to multiple shows in a night.
Tickets are cheap and the show was a lot of fun. They have shows most days of the week, check the site for details.
The theatre is small and intimate which allows for viewing performances close up and personal.
Amazing shows, and their ads are true, it actually is cheaper than you think lol
Never been to an improv show. I had an incredible time and laughed a bunch.
Always funny, worth the price of admission (which is by far less expensive than it's big brother BNW)
Best Improv shows in the area! A favorite date night activity!
Great place for improv and you can even participate on some nights.
Amazing shows, classes and community!
Friendly crowd, great improv, cold beer. Only $8 on Mondays.

This was a very fun evening of comedy, nice venue, I'll go again!
Tons of fun, creative show, cheap tickets. Buy them ahead of time, our show was sold out.
Hilarious and the perfect amount of awkward, Swords & Sorcery: The Improvised Fantasy Campaign was an absolute delight.
Only been here for the stage practice training rooms but if you're looking for a good studio space to do practice or trainings this is a go to in my eyes
Super fun place, need to make Improv a regular thing!
I recommend this studio for people with developmental disabilities such as Autism or with Anxiety Disorders to take a break and laugh or get outside of your head.
