Reviews of Playhouse on Park

Had the chance to see Pippin. The show was great and Playhouse on Park had a very intimate setting, so any seat was a great seat! There was plenty of street parking. The neighborhood had places to walk around and eat nearby as well.

This review is more for the Connecticut Shakespeare festival than the actual venue, but the venue itself was great as well. I recently went to see Into the Woods with my wife. My only regret was that I didn't buy tickets to every other production that they put on this summer. I was thoroughly impressed with the production. Playhouse on Park was an excellent venue for it, as I felt that every seat in the venue was a good seat with an excellent view of the performance. I did not initially know what into the woods was really going to be about, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Every one of the performers was at a high professional level. I feel like they could have packed out a large theater. I was so impressed I was actually going to buy tickets to come to the show The following day with my kids, but couldn't fit it into my schedule. So instead I watched it on Disney plus with my kids. I didn't realize how well it was performed until I actually watched the Disney production and thought that some of the performers out did the Disney production. One of those shows that inspired me to see if I could get back into theater and try to introduce it to my children. Thank you!

I’d say I had a more interesting experience than most…
I went with my fiancée to see “A Charles Dickens Christmas”. The show was fantastic, the theater was impressive, cozy, and intimate, the staff was friendly, and the actors were all amazing.
About 10 minutes into the show, a gentlemen in the front row had an unfortunate medial emergency. My fiancée initiated CPR and thankfully the man came too quickly. EMS arrived in under 4 minutes thanks to the professionalism by the staff. Playhouse even gave everyone a complimentary glass of wine and the show continued and the delivered an amazing performance.
I will definitely be looking to come back in the future!

A local and regional gem! NYC quality, with hometown flavor, in our own backyard. Can’t say enough positive things about the culture of this entire organization!

Intimate venue and stirring performances. All seats are close to the actors. An oasis of class. Many good restaurants with in walking distance.

We saw a comedy show there for the first time and both comedians were hilarious. It's a small venue so there no bad seats in the house. It byob too which is nice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

Went to my first show with my five year old daughter. We loved it. It's a cool theater space. The staff do a wonderful job engaging theater guests.
I really liked that the actors take time after the performance to engage with public too.
If you like live theater, definitely consider Playhouse on the Park for family-friendly entertainment.

Great little theater! I would like to see other productions there.

Small thrust stage theater. Enjoyed Pippin very much. Parking is not a strength, but not terrible (mostly street parking in a not too busy area).
