This Medical Center/Museum District is incredible. The ease of Marriott Hotel to Medical Center Smith Building is a pleasure to walk from building to building and exploring the shops and restaurants in between is hospitable, friendly and, inside rain or shine. It is great to get to outside as well and there are many choices of cafes and restaurants all around.

Flat $7 parking fee. If you get behind a slow driver if didn't plan ahead, will be late for appnt. If in budget Valet parking available.

The staff at the parking lot are nice but it often takes a long time to get your car returned from valet if you're using them and large oversized vans and trucks have difficulty fitting in the lot. they also tend to fill up by afternoon without closing so you can drive around with no way to park. Very pricy.

Family member had an appointment at this location. You can either drop off a family member, valet, or park in the garage. The valet section is very organized. The self-parking has indicators letting you know which floors have available spots. There is an attendant in the drop off area to ensure that traffic is flowing.

Advice (we have used this lot many many times): drive up to floors 11 or 12 (maybe even higher!) and park; TAKE YOUR PARKING TICKET with you to your appointment. Stress is very low and elevators are quick. When you are ready to leave Smith Tower parking, stop by the kiosk by the elevators inside the Tower, scan your ticket (KEEP YOUR PARKING TICKET ON YOUR PERSON AT ALL TIMES....face the bar code towards the red eye), pay the fee and drive downwards. HINT: The ceiling looks way too low for a truck of normal wheelbase but we have zero issues (4 WD Tundra)....yes, the antenna hits the cement strut but never damages it.

The tower is always busy but clean and pleasant as one should expect all throughout the hospital... The ER on the other hand was over flowing with patients, laying in the halls projectile vomiting all over the floor and walls while people milled around it... Was very shocked at how inefficiently the ER appeared to be run especially at the initial check-in/triage station. Only two people manned the desk and we're being pulled in 20 different directions to the point that they were discharging a woman whose bp was 240/?? A nurse took her bp one last time before she was going to let her leave but they had already documented on her discharge papers her bp was under control. So because the discharge papers said it was under control they were releasing her... SHOCKING.

It’s important to learn the lay out. I use garage 7. The campus is confusing even for a “frequent flyer,”! The Smith tower has 2 elevator systems depending on your floor. If you get on the wrong one, floor 5 has the other elevator access.
